This document provides instructions for a project on the brain and its functions. Students are asked to create a PowerPoint presentation or alternative project identifying 25 major parts of the brain, including their locations and functions. They must focus on brain development at a specific life stage. The project should include an introduction, slides on each brain part with pictures, and a conclusion citing sources. 5. Your Task
 What you need to do:
 You need to make either a power point
presentation OR
1. 25 major parts of the brain (where they are
located and what they do)
2. Pictures are a MUST – diagrams would be nice
3. Make it simple for you and your classmates to
remember – put it to a song – come up with a
creative saying (this is extra credit!)

6. Your Task Cont.
 To be Specific:
• You need to have AT LEAST 10 power point
slides
• Introduction
• A presentation of each of your 25 parts of the
brain with pictures
• A Conclusion
• A bibliography of your web sights

7. Process
1. You need to decide which major time period
you are going to focus on (birth, first year,
adolescence, adulthood, etc.)
2. You need to look at the websites provided and
get the 25 parts of the brain that are most
important
3. You need to put all your information together
and present it via Powerpoint
4. Or – you can choose to do a creative project…
by making a brain using clay/food/playdough –
or whatever you come up with – be creative!

8. Grading System
 This project is worth 100 points and will
be broken down in the following manner:
 Title page: 5 points
 Introduction: 10 points
 25 brain parts: 40 points
 Developmental Stage: 25 points
 Process/creativity: 15 points
 Credits: 5 points

9. Conclusion
 The conclusion of this process
should be detailed information about
the brain and its development.
 Hopefully we are doing this to help
out ourselves and our classmates…
