Topic: Parties. Birthday Party
Objectives
 to teach pupils using of new words
 to practice and revise grammar material (Past Simple, regular and irregular
verbs)
 to develop reading skills
 to develop speaking and writing skills
 to develop monological speech
 to develop the skills of working in a group
 to develop attention and memory
 to bring up love of learning English language
 to bring up preparing for parties
Procedure
І. Greeting.
T. – Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you.
Ps. – Good morning, teacher. We are glad to see you too!
T. –Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson. Are you ready?
Ps. – Yes, we are ready.
T. – Let revise the poem that you know (slide 1, a poem)

Good morning to you!
Good morning, good morning,
I am glad to see you!
ІІ. Warming up
T. – Dear children, you will have very interesting lesson today. But before you
understand the theme of it, I will give you a short poem, so you could tell me the
theme of our whole lesson. So, look at our monitor and repeat after me. (slide 2,
a poem “ It’s party time”)
It’s party time, party time
Time for games and time for toys
Time for happy girls and boys
Time for cakes and presents too
Time to laugh and say “Thank you”
T. – So, tell me please, what is the theme of our lesson?
Ps. – The theme of our lesson is “Parties. A Birthday Party” (slide 3)
T. – You are right.
III. Main part of the lesson
1. Game“Associations”(slide4)
T. – Tell me, please, do you like parties?
Ps. – Yes, we do.
T. – It’s very good because our task is connected with the parties.
Let’s play a game “Associations”. You are to divided into 2 groups. Each group must
choose1 speaker, who will answer my task. Your task: to chooseonly that words,
that you associate with the word “ A Party”. Be very attentive, because this words
will be in the text which we’ll read later with you. You have only 4 minutes for this
task. Begin! (Group Work)

Words:children, a bus, a teddy bear party, a tree, a football party, a house, a song, a
book, a present, an invitation; a doll party, a leaf, a cartoon party, party masks, a
pencil, a chair, a cake, a computer, a dance, a game
You work very well today, so your marks are:
Here we can see one branch. And it means “Themes of a Party”. Look, please.
2) Physical Activityfor Eyes
Thank you so much for help. And our next task will be connected with eyes, our eyes
will work hard. So before it we are to give a rest to them. (slide 5, Video)
3) Reading.Work witha text-book (Ex 2, p. 110)(slide6)
T. – So our eyes are ready to continue work.
I will read you the text “Parties for Children” and you are to listen very attentively
because some of the words you don’tknow how to spell. After my reading you will
read it and I’ll listen how attentive were you.

4) Post-Reading Activity. Selectivereading. (ex 2 (b), p. 111)(slide8)
T. – I want to know how good you understand all the text and how attentive were
you. I will read you the question, you should find the answer in the text, rise your
hand and read the sentence from the text. Who will rise the hand first, that will
answer. Do you understand? Ok, let’s start
Questions (slide 9):
- What parties can the British children have?
- What can they cookfor a party?
- What things do they make for the parties?
- What do children usually do at the parties?
- What are the most favourite parties?
5) Homework (slide10)
T. – Well, I supposeyou understand this text. You have some papers on table, please
look at them. It is your homework. You are to write this exercise in your copy-books
and choosemissing words from the box. This words are from the text, we have
already read.
6) Physical Activity (video)
T. – Are you tired? You work so good today. And we have some other exercises to
do. We should have a rest before them. I have a little present for you and if you don’t
know it and you like it, I will make it as a gift for you. OK? Please, stand up, look at
the monitor and at me and repeat all I do.
7) GrammarPage. Pasttimeof the verbs(a table“Regular and IrregularVerbs”,
presention, slide12, 13)
T. – Tell me, please, what kinds of verbs do you know?
Ps. – There are regular and irregular verbs
T. – Yes, you are right. And how do we form Past Tense of this verbs?
Ps. – If the verb is regular, we join –ed at the end, and if it is irregular, it’s the word-
exception
Very well. Now I see you are ready to continue.
8) Game“Present and PastTime”. Gamewitha ball (slide14)
T. – It’s not all presents I have for you. I have one more. It’s a game. Your task is: I
name the verb in present tense and you are to catch the ball and say this word in past
tense. I use ex. 3, p. 111 for this task. Let’s start, good luck to you.

T. – Our lesson is going to the end.
I want to hear how good was our lesson and our work on it. So tell me something
(slide 16) :

Greeting. T. – Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you. Ps. – Good morning, teacher. We are glad to see you too! T. –Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson. Are you ready? Ps. – Yes, we are ready. T. – Let revise the poem that you know (slide 1, a poem) Good morning, good morning, Good morning to you! Good morning, good morning, I am glad to see you! ІІ. Warming up T. – Dear children, you will have very interesting lesson today. But before you understand the theme of it, I will give you a short poem, so you could tell me the theme of our whole lesson. So, look at our monitor and repeat after me. (slide 2, a poem “ It’s party time”) It’s party time, party time Time for games and time for toys
  • 3. Time for happy girls and boys Time for cakes and presents too Time to laugh and say “Thank you” T. – So, tell me please, what is the theme of our lesson? Ps. – The theme of our lesson is “Parties. A Birthday Party” (slide 3) T. – You are right. III. Main part of the lesson 1. Game“Associations”(slide4) T. – Tell me, please, do you like parties? Ps. – Yes, we do. T. – It’s very good because our task is connected with the parties. Let’s play a game “Associations”. You are to divided into 2 groups. Each group must choose1 speaker, who will answer my task. Your task: to chooseonly that words, that you associate with the word “ A Party”. Be very attentive, because this words will be in the text which we’ll read later with you. You have only 4 minutes for this task. Begin! (Group Work) Speaker 1: Speaker 2: Words:children, a bus, a teddy bear party, a tree, a football party, a house, a song, a book, a present, an invitation; a doll party, a leaf, a cartoon party, party masks, a pencil, a chair, a cake, a computer, a dance, a game You work very well today, so your marks are: Here we can see one branch. And it means “Themes of a Party”. Look, please. 2) Physical Activityfor Eyes Thank you so much for help. And our next task will be connected with eyes, our eyes will work hard. So before it we are to give a rest to them. (slide 5, Video) 3) Reading.Work witha text-book (Ex 2, p. 110)(slide6) T. – So our eyes are ready to continue work.
  • 4. I will read you the text “Parties for Children” and you are to listen very attentively because some of the words you don’tknow how to spell. After my reading you will read it and I’ll listen how attentive were you. 3.1. Teacher’s Reading 3.2. A system “RainyTime”(slide7) T. – So, I begin and someone else will continue. Ok, let’s start Questions (slide 9): - What parties can the British children have? - What can they cookfor a party? - What things do they make for the parties? - What do children usually do at the parties? - What are the most favourite parties? 5) Homework (slide10) T. – Well, I supposeyou understand this text. You have some papers on table, please look at them. It is your homework. You are to write this exercise in your copy-books and choosemissing words from the box. This words are from the text, we have already read. 6) Physical Activity (video) T. – Are you tired? You work so good today. And we have some other exercises to do. We should have a rest before them. I have a little present for you and if you don’t know it and you like it, I will make it as a gift for you. OK? Please, stand up, look at the monitor and at me and repeat all I do. 7) GrammarPage. Pasttimeof the verbs(a table“Regular and IrregularVerbs”, presention, slide12, 13) T. – Tell me, please, what kinds of verbs do you know?

Ps. – If the verb is regular, we join –ed at the end, and if it is irregular, it’s the word- exception Very well. Now I see you are ready to continue. 8) Game“Present and PastTime”. Gamewitha ball (slide14) T. – It’s not all presents I have for you. I have one more. It’s a game. Your task is: I name the verb in present tense and you are to catch the ball and say this word in past tense. I use ex. 3, p. 111 for this task. Let’s start, good luck to you. ІV. Summing up Microphone (presentation)(slide15) T. – Our lesson is going to the end. I want to hear how good was our lesson and our work on it. So tell me something (slide 16) : - What do you repeat from our lesson? - What new and interesting do you get and hear from our lesson? - What do you like in our lesson?
