3. MECHANISM OF ACTION
Pantoprazole
Acetylcholine, gastrin and histamine
can increase acid production with
increasing activity of proton pump
Pantoprazole blocks the final step of
acid production
Therefore reduce acidity of stomach Domperidone facilitates gastric emptying and decreases small
bowel transit time by increasing esophageal and gastric
peristalsis and by lowering esophageal sphincter pressure.

Pantoprazole

Pantoprazole suppresses the final
step in gastric acid production.
Domperidone
It is a specific blocker of dopamine
receptors.
It speeds gastrointestinal peristalsis,
causes prolactin release.

7. PRECAUTIONS
You should not take PAN-Do if you are allergic to pantoprazole or
domperidone.
If you forget to take a dose take as soon as you remember
Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed one.
Avoid alcohol consumption
Do not use if it is past the expiration date.
PAN-Do may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you
know how it affects you.
PAN-Do should be stored in a cool, dry location, out of the reach of children
and pets

Adult: Per capsule contains
pantoprazole 40 mg and
domperidone 10 mg:
1 capsule once daily before meal

In India, the prevalence of peptic ulcers is estimated to
be 4-10 per 1000 population.
Peptic ulcer more common among the population of
South India than North India
Lifetime prevalence of PU in India
Delhi – 0.61%
Mumbai – 0.69%
Chennai – 0.75%
These studies have limitations in diagnostic method and
not considering asymptomatic population
