Panch Karma is an Ayurvedic detoxification process with three main objectives: prevention of disease, eradication of existing disease, and disease suppression/rehabilitation. It involves three steps - preparation (Purvakarma), the main detoxifying process (Pradhanakarma), and rehabilitation after (Pashchat karma). The main detoxifying therapies include therapeutic vomiting (Vamana), purgation (Virechana), enema (Basti), errhine therapy (Nasya), and bloodletting (Raktamokshana). Each therapy aims to eliminate specific aggravated doshas and toxins from the body.
