Pakistan Oncology Update
Cancer statistics in Pakistan reveal that breast cancer is the most prevalent malignancy overall, accounting for 24% of cases, followed by head and neck cancers at 15%. In males, the top cancers include head & neck (20%) and lung (11%), while in females, breast cancer dominates at 45%. The report also highlights the limited number of oncologists available for the nearly 190 million people in Pakistan, with approximately 100 oncologists and 250 hematologists.
