Pablo Picasso was a famous Spanish painter and sculptor who helped create cubism. He was born in Malaga, Spain and considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, painting over 2,000 works. Picasso attended art school in Barcelona and Madrid to further his education. Some of his most important paintings include Maternidad, El Guernica, Los tres músicos, La vida, and Las señoras de Avignon. Cubism, the artistic movement Picasso helped pioneer, explores a new geometric perspective of reality by representing objects from multiple views simultaneously on a 2D canvas.
