Pablo Picasso was a highly influential Spanish painter and sculptor who spent most of his career in France. He was born in Málaga, Spain in 1881 to an artist father and was regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century for co-founding Cubism and exploring a wide variety of styles. Some of his most famous works include the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and the anti-war painting Guernica portraying the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
