Outline For Essay Example
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Outline For Essay Example" poses a unique set of challenges.
The irony lies in the fact that while outlining is typically considered the initial step in the essay
writing process, delineating the structure for an essay about outlining itself can be a perplexing
endeavor. One must navigate the delicate balance of providing a comprehensive guide without
delving too deep into the specifics, as the subject inherently revolves around the very framework
that supports the essay.
The challenge intensifies as the writer grapples with the need for clarity and conciseness.
Maintaining a balance between elucidating the importance of a well-constructed outline and
avoiding verbosity becomes paramount. It requires a keen understanding of the audience's
expectations, as too much detail may overwhelm while too little may leave the reader without a
substantial understanding.
Moreover, the recursive nature of the topic adds another layer of complexity. Writing about
outlining involves employing the very skill being discussed, demanding a meta-awareness that
can be mentally taxing. The essay must effectively demonstrate the principles it advocates,
making it a self-reflective exercise in writing proficiency.
In conclusion, creating an essay on the intricacies of an "Outline For Essay Example" demands a
delicate dance between providing sufficient guidance and not drowning in the specifics. It
requires the writer to embody the principles of outlining while explaining its significance—a
challenge that necessitates a nuanced approach.

Meursault Is The Cause Of Conformity
Conformity is the mental process where an individual changes his own ideals that
differ from society s in order to match the culture and mentality of the civilization
around him. Psychologically it is a healthy mental process it elucidates the need to
fit in,which confirms the theory that humans are social animals, conformity is
considered a norm. A psychological question that s been asked is why do certain
people not conform, and why is that peculiar? Meursault is a character that is
utterly careless about peoples ideas and opinions, he is honest to a fault, can t
vividly perceive reality as it is, which is why he refuses to conform to match his
society s ideals which creates conflict between him and society and is the major

Meursault was honest to a fault, he had no issue with displaying that he doesn t feel
anything towards any event may it be the loss of a parent, his imprisonment, or even
his excruciating verdict. Meursault lacked knowledge of the law, awareness of the
dangers of society, and consequences, his cognitive limitations didn t lead him to his
down fall, but lead him to continue being honest and refusing to conform in order to
save himself. Eventually, his honesty led him towards a bigger disaster than he ever
imagined, ending the book with a tragic

La Canzone Del Piave
La Canzone del Piave (The Piave s song) was arguably the best example among the
songs, as Bubola defined them, imposed from above (Bubola, 2015) The song,
which has kept intact its popularity until today, is able to narrate the war in its
entirety in few verses. Through the tune it is indeed possible to identify the
beginning of the war, the early and clamorous Italian Army defeat of Caporetto and
the final victory too. But that was also one of the most glaring examples of
manipulation of fact carried out by the high command. Despite, as Perucchetti
(2015) recognised, the songs has a beautiful melody and incisive lyrics with sharp
and imaginative strophes like: Era un presagio dolce e lusinghiero il Piave

Bubola underlined how it was also full to the brim with rhetoric messages and
historic inaccuracies . (Bubola, 2015) As a result, the soldiers weren t identifying
themselves in that song, first of all because of a motto which the superiors
imposed them to learn by heart: O il Piave o tutti accoppati (Or we hold on the
Piave line or we die). Then, because the song was composed and performed
publicly for the first time in Naples one thousand miles far from the war theatre in
1918, only few months before the end of the war. Finally, because the song s
meaning was totally distorted. At first, the song was referring to the defeat of
Caporetto in a pessimistic way, pointing at the event as national shame and betrayal.

The Renaissance is the rebirth of Europe, and considered as the beginning of modern
history. In this era of time, people looked back and studied the Greek and Roman
knowledge, skills, attitude, and art, while stepping out of the Middle Ages artwork
techniques and creating new techniques to breathe realism, individualism, humanism,
mannerism, and more into the art. The Middle Ages artwork majorly focussed on the
religious aspect of the art, leaving out the techniques to make the art look realistic.
However, the Renaissance artwork used many new techniques that they developed,
like chiaroscuro, the use of light and shading, to create an effect that the Middle Ages
artwork had not seen before. The art shows how the Renaissance evolved from

Tata Motor Company
Tata Group of Industries The story of Tata begins in 1868 when a young boy named
Jamsetji Tata joined his father s small trading company. Thirty five years later, that
same boy was the owner of India s largest textile company, Tata Textile. Over the last
century, Tata has excelled in many different business sectors including Materials
(Steel and Mining), Agriculture, Energy, Consumer Products, Information
Technology, Consultancy, Finance, Automobiles, Chemicals, Engineering and
Hospitality. Tata Group of Industries reported $17.6 billion in revenues in 2005,
which is equivalent to 2.8 percent of India s GDP. In 2006, it is projecting its
annual revenue to be around $24 billion. Figure 1 shows the breakdown of Tata s

Also, in order to cut down heavy losses, Tata steel had to lay off more than half of
its work force over the last 15 years. This strategic decision made Tata competitive
in one of the most brutal industries. However, it didn t damage the laid off
workforce as Tata promised to pay them full salary until retirement and there after,
pension benefits. When an organization functions as a global citizen through its
corporate social responsibility initiatives, this often boosts its reputation externally.
(Pio, 2005) Tata has been built on a strong reputation not only within the home
country, but in different locations around the globe. For over 130 years, Tata s
mission has always been to develop India as a great industrial power. Tata truly
believes the development of a nation lies in the hands of the business owners. Tata
has done a great deal in developing the infrastructure of India, especially in
Jamshedpur, the city where Tata originated. Jamsetji Tata turned Jamshedpur from a
jungle to the one of the largest industrial sectors of India. There he opened factories,
schools, churches, parks and hospitals for Tata employees that showed his
commitment to all the stakeholders that would be a part of Tata. Tata was the first
one to introduce an eight hour work day concept in India and offered medical
benefits to employees, which even today is unknown to many employers in India.
After the death of Jamsetji Tata in 1991, his son Ratan
Hiroshima And The Inheritance Of Trauma
What if I told you truma could be inherited; meaning you were not the one who
initially experienced the traumatic event, however, you still suffer great stress from
it. Sarah Stillman in Hiroshima and the Inheritance of Trauma suggests that
trauma may be a contagious disease that can spread amongst both families as well
as generations. She uses an example of a woman named Tomiko Shoji who was
only nineteen when she survived the bombing of Hiroshima. Shoji suffered post
traumatic stress disorder as well has radiation poisoning, which consisted of her
losing her hearing, sight, and teeth in her forties. She also had psychological
symptoms which consisted of losing control during thunder storms and collapsing
with fear when she tried to speak of the event. Some of these were inherited by her
granddaughter Keni Sabath who first became aware of her grandmother s
experience in a disturbing way at the young age of six. According to an article in
Scientific American by Tori Rodriguez, there is a study being done that researches
mass trauma survivors and their offspring. The study looks at holocaust survivors
and their descendents as well as their levels of cortisol, a hormone that helps the body
return to normal after trauma. Sabath was affected by the trauma because she has
close contact with Shoji who experienced the trauma. This goes to show that trauma
after all may be a contagious disease , one that haunts not only the traumatized
individual but those they are close to.
The Principle Of Utility Explicit That Actions Or...
What is my ambition in life? What is everybody s ambition in life? That is a
question, which gives rise to many other questions, like why do we exist, what is
the purpose of our life? There is the thought that out reason of existence is only
known by God. That he has chosen it for us before we were ever born, and that
point of the reason is to be here for anyone else. The fundamental principle of utility
explicit that actions or behaviors are right in so far because they motivate
contentment or pleasure, wrong as they tend to develop unhappiness or sadness.
Therefore, usefulness is a teleological principle. This once again gives rise to some of
the similar fundamental issues concerned with hedonism, as discussed in the earlier
section on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many utilitarian s believe that contentment and sadness are primary states and can be,
more or less, quantified. Hedonistic expressions like strength, duration, fertility, and
probability, implicit that pleasure can be qualified quantitatively, possibly on a scale
from 1 to10, as area of a ferocious calculus. The basic issue for utilitarianism is giving
grounds for the altruistic principle of self sacrificing fr others advantages. Since, I do
not attend the events of the friendly games played at the stadium, and will not benefit
from hot dog events, why should I constitute to other project? Under exemplary
standard of utilitarianism, at least some of the members of the community or class
must compromise their own intellectual interests for the well being of others without
benefiting themselves. Honestly, it is often the case that turns out to be in the public
interest disputes with the private interests of certain individuals. How can one justify
such altruism based upon utilitarian rules and regulations? Often, it is possible for an
act to give a maximum amount of quantifiable contentment for a few individuals at
the cost of a minimum amount of quantifiable sadness for others. Let s suppose, for
instance, we have a very small, but significant number of vagrant children that could
be helped by implementing a small tax on every individual in Cincinnati. A utilitarian
would not be able to give ground for implementing that tax, until and unless it could
Virginia Woolf s The Death Of A Moth
In the paper Thoughts on Woolf s The Death of a Moth, the author gives their
thoughts on the quality of the short story and Virginia Woolf in general.
Throughout their paper, the author analyzes specific points in the short story and
shares their own interpretations as well as criticisms of these excerpts. All of the
comments they give are positive which slowly hinders the reliability of their
analysis. The author closes by looking back at the short story and reflecting on the
choices Woolf made. By the end of the paper it is clear to see that the author has no
bad comments of Woolf and only has praises. In the beginning of this paper the
author opens up by explaining how an encounter with a fly reminded them of Woolf s
story. They mention very early that they love the way that Woolf is able to connect
the observations of the narrator and the natural world (Thoughts). This use of such a
strong word, love, immediately... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this paper, the author seems to have a tone full of praise and love for Woolf.
They are not angry or sarcastic; they seem to be writing about a topic they truly
love and admire. This is understandable considering the high quality of Woolf s
work. Nonetheless, the purpose of this paper is an analysis and the author is too
clearly biased for their analysis to be considered reliable. When the author explains
the shift in Woolf s tone in her short story, they mention how much they admire
Woolf s work and style (Thoughts). This is just one example of where the author s
tone is all positive. Real criticism just cannot be found anywhere in this paper. The
author of this work is constantly praising Woolf, with comments such as how Woolf
has vivid descriptions and flowing language (Thoughts). Through words such as
these, the loving tone of the author is revealed. Due to the overly praiseful tone of
this paper, the author s analysis becomes weak and
A Website On Air Pollution
Our proposal is to create a website that encourages people to learn about how to use
their car efficiently. Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games
and quizzes that teach you about air pollution. During this game you earn points and
you can trade it in for coupons and the coupon is sent to the person by email, and
comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded in for things that help air
pollution(free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune ups).
The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to
get coupons, is because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact
on the environment. Also getting your car checked out, and fixed soon after your
engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by more than 30%. The second
part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can either
rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a
few people. To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year.
You get the individual car rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. We
the car manufactures are concerned that the next generation of drivers will not be
educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn about air pollution for
a small price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however time,
distance, and weather, contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine
Reasons For Attending College Is Not An Easy One
The decision to attend college is not an easy one. If you are willing to choose this
route, then it won t be an easy path. In the end, it will be worth it to hear your name
when you walk across the field to get your diploma. This path will better your life in
the long run depending on whether or not you achieve greatness in college.
You can t start searching for a college unless you take the SAT or the ACT because
every college in America has to have those scores no matter what. To being the
process of starting college, you need to begin the search for what college you want. In
and out of state tuition differ greatly and has a huge impact on where you go to
school. Most people including me are more likely to state in the state where they
reside. Do you want to be in an urban, rural, or suburban area? Do you want to have
a public or private school, and does it have to have a large population of students or
a small population. The choice to attend all girls, all boys, or a co ed school could
be important because all girls school have special features that a co ed school
might not. Schools will also send you information to your house for free with all the
necessary information you will need. Talking to people like your counselor, parents,
or people who specialize in finding the right college for you would really help. They
steered me in the right direction, and I wouldn t be attend college without them.
I spent my whole senior year finding colleges, but the list got too
Essay about Edward Witten s Work Led to a Revolution
Witten was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of Lorraine (Wollach) Witten
and Louis Witten, a theoretical physicist specializing in gravitation and general
relativity.[3]
Witten attended the Park School of Baltimore (class of 68), and received his
Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and minor in linguistics from Brandeis
University in 1971. He published articles in The New Republic and The Nation. In
1968, Witten published an article in The Nation arguing that the New Left had no
strategy.[4] He worked briefly for George McGovern s presidential campaign.
McGovern lost the 1972 election in a landslide to Richard Nixon.
Witten attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for one semester as an
economics graduate student before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the late 1980s, Witten coined the term topological quantum field theory for a
certain type of physical theory in which the expectation values of observable
quantities encode information about the topology of spacetime.[5] In particular,
Witten realized that a physical theory now called Chern Simons theory could provide
a framework for understanding the mathematical theory of knots and 3 manifolds.[6]
Although Witten s work was based on the mathematically ill defined notion of a
Feynman path integral and was therefore not mathematically rigorous,
mathematicians were able to systematically develop Witten s ideas, leading to the
theory of Reshetikhin Turaev invariants.[7]
Another result for which Witten was awarded the Fields Medal was his
(nonrigorous) proof in 1981 of the positive energy theorem in general relativity.[8]
This theorem asserts that (under appropriate assumptions) the total energy of a
gravitating system is always positive and can be zero only if the geometry of
spacetime is that of flat Minkowski space. It establishes Minkowski space as a stable
ground state of the gravitational field. While the original proof of this result due to
Richard Schoen and Shing Tung Yau used variational methods,[9][10] Witten s proof
used ideas from supergravity theory to simplify the argument.

Benifits Of Dianodrol
Dianodrol is designed to hydrolyze in the stomach and convert to the power
dianabol. It is therefore a d bol prohormone. It is an excellent choice for muscle
builders who are also looking to reduce fat in order to increase their lean mass cuts.
Dianodrol is quickly becoming a famous prohormone and especially used now by
bodybuilders when they are in the period cutting stack. It is in use from 45 mg per
day to 150 mg per day so the 70 mg quantity here lies in good balance with the
industry practices.
It is available in a liquid form and can easily be used for a long time period. It is
better to keep this product refrigerated for the best results. Dianodrol is best used
during the cycles and it is an excellent product to once again prepare the body for

Examples Of Inequities In Aboriginal Health
As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous
Australians to gain a greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there
are such high rates of ill health issues such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter
life expectancy and higher prevalence of diseases including diabetes, heart disease
and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at just the individual aspects and
the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health. This is
why we need to explore in further detail what events could have created such
inequities in Aboriginal health. Other details that we should consider are the

It was this day that was the start of a long dark history of cruelty and ill treatment
towards the traditional custodians of Australia.
Under the terra nullius law, the Aboriginals lost their land, which is now known as
dispossession. To justify this dispossession, the English followed the set of beliefs
that are now identified as social Darwinism. Social Darwinism, with its powerful
racially based doctrines, ranked Indigenous Australians as inferior to Europeans and
provided a rationale for dispossession by drawing on the laws of natural selection to
justify the inevitable extinction of Indigenous Australians in the face of the arrival
of the superior white race (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of
Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 75). By having their land taken away from them,
the Aboriginals lost part of their spiritual connection and their sense of belonging
and identity because Aboriginal culture is based heavily on the spirits of the land.
These connections that bonded the Aboriginals to the land were never understood
by the English settlers, who only saw the land as possible income (Psychology and
Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009.). They also lost
a lot of their sacred areas, spiritual areas and meeting places because they were on
the land that the white people had divided and fenced of the land that these areas
were on and if an Aboriginal was trying to
Olan The Virtuous Woman Essay
Olan or the Virtuous Woman, same person? Relatively close? Or just complete
opposites? Throughout the novel, The Good Earth Olan a slave woman with
unbound feet is wedded to Wang Lung a poor crop farmer. Olan is responsible for
many things in her marriage with Lung such as cooking and such, but she is a
right minded woman who does more than she is asked or told. She carries weight
on her shoulders and works her hardest even in times of struggle. Olan does not go

Woman? Well of course she is, the closest thing to it! The Virtuous Woman is a
person who is worth far more than jewels and money, their worth is meaningful
through their love, care, respect, and hard work. They give their husbands a full
heart and show them that they need no spoiling for they are content and happy
with the life they are provided and are willing to put forth the same effort as the
other does. Olan is a perfect example of such a woman for she does more than she

Olan portrays these qualities greatly throughout the novel, even when she should

she values what she has, such as the land Lung was going to sell and she told him
not too, that their family would be fine. On the other hand, Wang Lung involves
himself with another woman named Lotus. Olan should be furious with this and
unkind, but she is not, she allows it to happen and continues to love and cherish her
husband, provide for him and work hard while ignoring it all. Olan may be the
Virtuous Woman but her husband takes advantage of this amazing blessing by not
giving to her what she has given to him, a loving, caring

people, those sheep were willing to vilify those that threatened their sheltered lives,
but John Galt would not stand for it. John Galt was the avenging angel of those
who had had their life s work stolen from them by people claiming it was for the
greater good, of those people who so desperately wanted to save the world, that they

Symbolic Interactionism And Illegal Immigration
With Symbolic interactionism, the truth is seen as social, created interaction with
others. Most symbolic interactionists trust a physical reality does in reality exist by
an individual s social definitions, and that social definitions do create to a limited
extent or connection to something genuine. People subsequently don t react to this
reality specifically, yet rather to the social comprehension of reality. People in this
manner exist in three substances: a physical target reality, a social reality, and a
remarkable reality. The point of view of symbolic interactionismgives understanding
of the everyday workings of illegal immigration. Interaction of subjects with illegal
migrants differs significantly. The individuals who are more open
Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms
Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms
Do you believe that single gender elementary classrooms are better for children s
education rather than traditional coeducational classrooms, or vice versa? There are
many differences in boy brains and girl brains and according to these differences; it
may be potential to have different learning techniques and environments. Some
schools are adopting the newer curriculum of single gender classrooms to help
children achieve a better educational learning environment that suits both boys and
girls separately. Although it is not fully understood if it is a better educationchoice, a
lot of studies show that single gender classrooms can be useful to help improve
achievement. However, other experts may think otherwise because they do not
believe that there is any significant evidence that prove it is necessary to separate
genders since every single person is different or that it may even deny equal
opportunities. A comparison of the single gender classrooms versus traditional
classrooms both shows the belief for higher education, but I believe single gender
classrooms offer a positive alternative to the traditional mixed classrooms.
Over the years, research experts discovered new ways on how each gender develops
and processes information by using reliable technology such as MRI and PET which
are technology that allows you to see soft tissue and the anatomy structure. What they
have found is that girls have more active frontal lobes, which provide
Compare And Contrast The Colonial Regions Of The New...
In the seventeenth century, England established colonies on North America s eastern
coast. These original colonies were broken into many different regions, these regions
included the New England, Chesapeake, Middle Colony, and Low Country region.
These regions broke up the original colonies into groups. These regions had many
differences in their populations, town systems, and cultures. These differences helped
to define the different regions.
The colonial region of New England was made up of Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay,
New Haven, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. This region was made up of a
primarily puritan population, which affected every aspect of life in the region
including how towns in this area were set up, social interactions in the area, and the
level of education. Towns in the New Englandregion were all set up around a
centralized town square, in which people had to live a mile away from. People
also lived in relatively close together in the region because they believed that the
sins of one counted as sins of them all causing them to all watch each other closely.
Much of the population in this area were not new immigrants once established,
rather families who settled there permanently in the region so that they can have
their religious freedom. The colonial region of New England was also one of the
most educated areas of the world at the time. This is because the highest amount of
people could read and write because of their religion and the fact that they all

humans are observed in either a natural or laboratory setting (Creswell). The
difference between the two settings is one allows scientists to view the person or
animal in their natural habitat whereas the laboratory setting allows a controlled
environment. Qualitative is the best research for observational (Creswell). Case
studies are a type of research method that leads to a testable hypotheses and often
involves an in depth study of a person or group. The flaw to this type of study is the
errors in bias by the researcher and an individual s own description (Creswell). Case
studies are often quantitative. The survey method is the other research type and
involves having individuals answer questions in the form of a questionnaire or

Analyzing Richard Branson Essay
For the purposes of our assignment I will attempt to put Richard Branson in a sort of
box that he would surely object to and would certainly pop out of like a jack in the
box. The difficulty with attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that
everything that has been written about him prefaces his achievement with his larger
than life personality. There s no denying that Branson is fun and passionate, but he s
also very bright and very hardworking. I think that if Branson took the Myers Briggs
Type Indicator Profile he would discover that he is ENTP: an extroverted, intuitive,
thinking, perceiving human being. From his autobiography, Losing My Virginity it s
clear that Branson is action oriented, enthusiastic and... Show more content on

and someone s passing on an idea in a drunken slur. Good ideas come from people
everywhere, not [only] in the boardroom. One might also argue that his
extroversion is also well documented from his hot air balloon rides to the very
name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name like Virgin demands
recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew the
attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no
matter what the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how
easy they made it for anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin
Atlantic seems to make travel for anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower
fares to many destinations. You imagine a younger hip executive flying Virgin
Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British Airways. Even
ventures that failed, such as Virgin Vodka, still conjure up the idea of fun. It s
become a way of life brand . In Good to Great, Collins discusses how Philip Morris
found success when it diversified away from tobaccos by staying close to sinful
products such as coffee, chocolates and beer. In a similar way, Virgin has branded its
easy, fun, energetic way about doing things. We even joked in class that a Virgin
bank might be the fun bank to transact business. Branson is not only passionate about
the business that he at the helm of, but he also finds time
Diverse Characters In Cassandra Clare s The
Shadowhunter...
Cassandra Clare s works, The Shadowhunter Chronicles, are full of diverse
characters, and for various reasons. One reason being that she believes it is
important for novels to have all different kinds of characters to reflect the world
around us; because the world is diverse, the book she writes must also be diverse.
Creating relatable characters so that readers of any sexual orientation, race, or
gender are able to identify with her works is something Clare strives for. For
example, Clare made the choice of writing her main character as a young female
because she would have wanted to read that as a teenager. Every character is created
in order to give people, especially those who are not as represented in the media,

this is important because it expresses that girls who look like Maia are capable of

Plastics And The Plastic Age
The current period in human history is referred to as the plastic age (CГіzar et al
2014). Plastic is synthetic polymers derived from petroleum (Vikas Dwarakish
2015), it is lightweight, inexpensive to produce and hailed as an industrial
achievement (Detloff Istel 2016). Moreover, plastic does not decompose, the durable
material simply breaks into smaller particles, pervading the water and marine life
(Detloff Istel 2016). Our current society has established a constant consume and
discard rhythm, fuelling the plasticeconomy . Marine plastic pollution mainly occurs
from land based plastic debris, comprised of: littering, incessant plastic bag use and
inappropriate disposal (Derriak 2002). Microplastics are pieces of plastic less than
five millimetres in size (Detloff Istel 2016). These particles account for 92% of the
plastics in the ocean (Shim Thomposon 2015). Microplastics have become
ubiquitous in the ocean, found as far as the Arctic and Antarctic seas (Obbard et al
2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015; Law Thompson 2014 as cited in Shim
Thomposon 2015). Plastic pollution is also significantly damaging the fragile marine
ecosystem, as well as massacring innocent marine creatures (Deltoff Istell 2016; Avio,
Gorbi Regoli 2017). Overall, preventing ocean plastic pollution is difficult, due to the
large volume of production and contamination, particularly microplastics, coupled
with inadequate disposal practices of plastic.
In 2014, 311 million tonnes of plastic were produced (Detloff Istel 2016), and half
was disposed of within the year (Singh Sharma 2016). The most commonly used
and plentiful polymers are: high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene,
polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate
(Andray Neal 2009 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). These polymers account for
90% of total plastic production, and as a result are the most common plastics found
in aquatic environments (Andray 2011 and Engel 2012 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok
2016). Plastic debris often migrates to form five subtropical gyres, large garbage
patches colloquially dubbed marine soup (Eriksen et al 2013; Weinstein 2009). It is
estimated five to thirteen tonnes of

Locavorism And Local Food
Locavorism is a food trend in which a consumer buys locally produced food. The
term local in relation to locavorasim is defined geographically within a one hundred
mile distance from which the product originated. Locavorism has proven to be very
beneficial to local communities where it is regularly practiced. With the ongoing
issues of food production in the U.S., locavorism can provide a solution to these
problems, for the trend promotes local economies, provides healthier options for
consumers, and reduces the carbon footprint. The growing costof food production is
largely due to the expenditures companies use for mechanization, irrigation, heating
systems in greenhouses, fertilizers, plastics in greenhouses, lab work, and chemical
additives. (Azevedo) The idea of locavorism is that the product goes from producer to
consumer with no intermediary. This concept cuts out the cost of middlemen in mass
production, and generates a larger revenue for farmers. Although local fooddoes not
go through the same production process as food produced in factories, local food
is more expensive when purchased. This is because farmers must charge for labor,
materials, and time in order to generate a profit. The local farmer is not a business
peon, but a person making a living. This circulation of local wealth betters
communities, and gives less power to the large scale monopolized producers. As
said before, the price of local food is higher, but in turn it yields less health problems

Essay about Marriage Rituals Hinduism and Muslim
Marriage is a significant social event in contemporary society. It is a means of
building new bonds between two individuals and their subsequent families. The
foundations of memorable weddings are built on those that bring often distant family
and friends together for the occasion, while dressed in their most sophisticated attire,
surrounded by elegant flowers, a night of dancing, captured through the lens of an
exceptional photographer. Although Hinduism and Islam are two extremely
distinctive religions, their matrimonial customs do share some comparable elements,
like most other cultural weddingceremonies. In both religions, they are devotedly
obedient concerning religious and cultural practices in their marital ceremonies.

As well, Hindus and Muslims normally have their weddings taking place in their
homes or in the Mosque. Hindu weddings can last up to a few days or even to a
week. On the other hand, Muslim weddings last only one for a day.
According to Hindu doctrine, marriages are not considered binding and completed
without completion of certain traditional rituals by the bride and groom together.
There are eight types of marriages in Hinduism culture according to the Laws of
Manusmriti. All eight symbolize different groups of people and their beliefs in
humanity. The eight types include: Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Gandharva,
Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha. The first four are considered proper (Brahma, Daiva,
Arsha, Prajapatya), whereas the last four are considered not to have religious
sanctions (Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha). The Brahma marriage is when
the father gives up his daughter to a man after the man has spoiled her with costly
jewels and presents. Secondly, the Daiva marriage is when the daughter is given
away with ornaments to a priest at a religious ceremony. The third type of marriage,
the Arsha marriage is when the father gives up his daughter to a man after receiving
a bull/cow from the groom. A forth type of marriage is the Prajapatya marriage and
this is involves the father giving up his daughter to a man after bestowing them with
his blessings and addressing them: May both of you perform together your duties. The
My Favorite Family
When I was 6 months old, my mom and dad were bickering and when my mom
was fed up, she threw my oatmeal at his face. After all the commotion, he stormed
out, leaving all his stuff behind for us to keep. I have not seen my dad since i was 10
years old. I really don t like to talk about him. Let s talk about my favorite family
members:my mom, grandma, and sister. First, I want to talk about my mom,
Jessica. Firstly, my mom cares about me. How does she worry about me? Well, 1
reason is in my old neighborhood, she would make I d check in every hour and I
always have a curfew depending on what season it was. Another thing is that she
would make sure I stayed away from certain people like people that is inappropriate
things, and she would also keep me inside if it was cold or raining. Forever the more,
my mom would give me what I asked for. When the Xbox 360came out, I asked her
for it and I got it for Christmas. I asked her for gift cards to get games and stuff and
I got them also. I really wanted WWII and i got i5t also. My mom really pulled
through with all the stuff I got from her. Lastly, my mom gives me food, water,
clothing, and shelter. If I don t get what I ask her at least she gives me the
necessary things I need for survival. Food, the meat and natural foods, then the
junk food. Water, so it can give me energy so i won t be dehydrated and end up in
the emergency room. Clothing, so I do not go walking around naked. Shelter, so I
don t burn or freeze to death or get soaked by the beating down sun, the white
blanket of snow, or the terror of the rain. Secondly, Let s talk about my grandma,
Tani Boelky. Let s start off with how my grandma is very sweet. How is my
grandma sweet? Well, for starters, she cooks us dinner and makes us lunch on the
weekends and sometimes breakfast in the morning. She gives and buys us things
like for instance, she bought me gift cards, extras for games, and even games in
general. She s the one who bought me my Xbox 1 last Easter for Easter. She also
makes us things and buys us Christmas presents and takes us to do activities like the
park and other things. My grandma may be inpatient and not really care about stuff,
but she is very sweet. All

Switching Costs
Since there are many stores, like McDonald s and Starbucks that are also providing
all kinds of healthy smoothies with a price that is similar to Jamba Juice s, buyers
actually will not face high switching costs. Therefore, low switching costs enhance
the bargaining power of buyers.
Product is Undifferentiated
Even though Jamba Juice advertizes that its products are healthy, low in calories and
rich in vitamins, many other stores also provide the similar smoothies or fast foods.
This indicates that Jamba Juice s products are not differentiated. Consumers can still
find products in other stores that are familiar to Jamba Juice s, which enhances the
power of buyers.
Power of suppliers
For restaurant retailers, the power of suppliers is high. This can be indicated by lack
of substitute produces and low importance of restaurants as buyers.
Availability of Substitutes
Although Jamba Juice demands a large amount of agricultural commodities to help
produce the healthy and organic smoothies, these commodities are limited. There are
not other substitutes can replace these agricultural commodities to make smoothies as
healthy as the organic raw materials. Hence, this gives the suppliers the opportunities
to raise the price or decrease the quality of the agricultural commodities.
Importance of Customer to Supplier
Besides Jamba Juice, many restaurant and foodservice stores need agricultural
commodities. If Jamba Juice

worries about having panic attacks once he leaves his apartment every time. He
has panics constantly when he uses public transportation. For example before Bob
gets onto public transportation he struggles to get into the vehicle because he is
so worried and afraid and when he rides the bus to find Leo, he has a puke bag and
almost uses it because he is so worried. Another example about Bob having panic
disorder with agoraphobia is when Bob is leaving Leo s office he gets onto the
elevator. Once the doors close Bob screams because he does not like being in
elevators and is afraid of them. These examples fit right into the books definitions of

George Washington s First President
Does anyone know why George Washington had trouble sleeping?
Because he couldn t lie!
George Washington was the best man to lead the Continental Army.
Back in 1775, George Washington, who would later become America s first president,
accepts the assignment to lead the Continental Army. The Second Continental
Congress unanimously voted and offered him the role of commander in chief.
Washington was the perfect choice, because of his military experience from the
Virginia Militia in 1753. George Washingtons childhood days are not like the
average young boy in the 1700s. He had lost his father at 11 years of age, and lived
the rest of his childhood moving from several homes with his mother, Mary Ball

Some say that George Washington was the most influential man available, him
making the Continental army keep it s unity and keep their hope. Others say that
Washington s failures outweigh his achievements, and that there could have been a
better man to lead the Army instead of losing most of the battles to the British.
However, the truth is, that the second Continental Congress chose George
Washington because there was no one better fit for the job. George Washington was
the best man to lead the Continental Army, because of his ambition, leadership, and
creativity in battle!
His Ambition
George Washington has showed great ambition since his childhood years. He is
considered humble because of his origins, neither poor nor rich, and that he did not
receive a college education. Washington longed to become a soldier, and improve
his social status. After serving the Virginian Regiment, he married a wealthy widow
who launched him into Virginia s social elite, and he obtained a large amount of
land in the western frontier. George Washington wasn t satisfied because of his many
unpleasant experiences with the Virginian Military superiors and with the way
nearby rulers from England gripped hold of the economic destiny of the colonies in
America. So because of his personal ambition, He wanted the people to start a
revolutionary war to cease the British rule on the 13 American Colonies.

Cause And Effect Essay On Scarlet Fever
You have a fever of 102 degrees or higher. It hurts to move, because you have a
sandpaper like rash, it feels as almost youre burning from the inside out. You have
side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, swollen glands, body aches, and even
the horrible ВЁstrawberry tongueВЁ. This sickness is definitely something you
would pay money for to never have again, as this is very serious and not something
to take lightly. This is know as the Scarlet Fever. In the 1800s, the scarlet feverwas
basically known as a death sentence.
ВЁOne of the most dreaded diseases of childhoodВЁ. This disease is so severe that it
causes death in a short amount of time or gives rise to even more severe
complications. In the seventeenth century, this disease was separated from other
infections, especially the measles, but remained for the nineteenth century. The
fatality of this disease depends upon the virulence of the Scarlet Fever organism.
Death from the Scarlet Fever varies from one to fifteen percent. This deadly diseases
is definitely not something that people took lightly, that is rather a good thing though.
The cause of the scarlet fever is actually rather complicated. Scientist are mostly sure
that Streptococci are almost constantly found in the throat and blood of Scarlet Fever
patients. They say it is caused by an infection with the group A beta hemolytic
streptococcus. Which is usually transmitted by respiratory droplets. The period of
incubation varies, but it generally lasts from 3 to
Wound Weights Movement Analysis
I suggests women generally start with a set of two 5 to 10 pound weights, and men
start with a set of two 10 to 20 pound weights.
How to: Stand with a weight in each hand, near hips, palms forward. Shoulders and
elbows should be pinned against the wall. Without moving upper arms, curl weights
up until dumbbells are shoulder level, then lower to starting position. Aim for 14 to
22 reps with good form shoulders flat against the wall, raising arms for a count of
two and lowering them for a count of two.
What we try to do is fatigue that muscle to the point where you feel the bicep really
straining. Your form might start to give just a little or you cant quite get to the rep
range, Booker says.
If your muscles fail or you can t maintain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The same goes for the high end. If you can easily do the max rep range in good form,
then add weight for the next set. the row is the way to go. Plus, it s a fairly easy
move to master.
How to: Stand behind a box, feet shoulder width apart, dumbbell in right hand.
Bend your left knee and place it on top of the box, and extend your right leg back
behind you, knee slightly bent, toes on the floor. Lean over at the hips and place
your left arm on the box in front of your knee to help brace yourself. Pick up your
dumbbell with the right hand. Keeping your back flat, elbow close to your body, lift
the weight up towards the right side of your chest, while simultaneously squeezing
your shoulders together. Slowly lower dumbbell back down. Complete prescribed
amount of reps, then switch to the other side.
Over time, you may find your heavy set of weights feels lighter to you as you
master your lifts and build muscle. Congrats: Now, start adding more weight, in five
pound increments. It s called progressive overload; you re going to slowly add
weight and it should be done within a targeted rep range, Booker
Health Inequities Public Health
As a nation, the United States (U.S.) stands for liberty and justice for all. Here, I
will make a case on how to reduce health inequities and improve public health in the
U.S. Life Course (LC) is a conceptual framework that is population focused and
firmly rooted in social determinants and social equity models. It allows us to study
human development, behavior, and interactions at the nexus of social pathways,
developmental trajectories, and social change (Elder et al, 2003). Currently, much of
public healthpractice seeks to improve health by changing individuals behaviors to
reduce chronic illness in aging population. However, LC aims to steer research away
from age specific studies, promote a holistic understanding over our life time lives...

This second tenet emphasizes that lives are interdependent and reciprocally
connected on several levels. Societal and individual experiences are linked
thorough the family and its network of shared relationships (Elder et al, 2003).
Moen and Chermack (2005) expand upon this concept by theorizing a gendered
life course. Although women in the U.S. tend to live longer than men, they
typically experience more stress and poor health. Also, this concept of linked lives
implicitly associates women as the primary caretaker of children and ailing
persons. This responsibility for others has led to what Moen and Chermack (2005)
describe as a gendered career path whereby women are more often than not
assumed to occupy the role of home maker and mother before other priorities.
Through a variety of mechanisms, including stress, this concept of linked lives has
been associated with poor health outcomes for women. More specifically, men and
women s life courses are embedded and mediated through the lives of others and can
apply across generations. Marriage can serve as a buffer for stressors for men.
Consequently, life s stressful events can also affect family relationships because these
occurrences can trigger patterns of
Florida State University Essay
Introduction Nick Tosches once said, I don t have a college degree (Picturequotes,
2017). Quite frankly, neither do I considering the fact that I am fourteen years old
and not a genius. Over the course of the past nine weeks, I have been researching
about Florida State University, it s financial aid, the process of going through
college, and Florida State University s history. College Information Biographical
Florida State University is one of 145 colleges in Florida. The history behind it just
makes it ever so unique and more differentiating from those other colleges. Florida
State University gained its beginning in 1823, where the Territorial Legislature began
to plan a higher education system (Florida State University: History,... Show more

Eventually due to reorganization, when the University of Gainesville was
established, it became a men s school, so Florida State College had become a
womans school. The name then changed once again to Florida Female college, and
then again. In 1909 the name of the college was changed to Florida State College
for Women, an institution which grew to become the third largest women s
college in the nation during the 1930 s (Florida State University: History, 2017). In
1947, those returning from World War II had brought back men, thus it no longer
being a women s college. After the men had returned, the college s title changed to
Florida State University. Soon after, throughout the years until more recent times,
the major changes made to the university included new developments of structures
and new designations for different organizations (Florida State University:
History, 2017). Personal I would like to attend Florida State University for
multiple reasons. First of all, I already feel a personal connection with Florida due
to the fact that it is my home state where I was born. The sense of familiarity gives
me comfort. I also have family that lives in Florida if anything were to happen or
go wrong. I would like to pursue a major in Arts and Sciences and also have a minor
in psychology. My future aspirations in life vary from a few different things. In the
most specific manner, I hope to become a prison psychologist. Shall
Chemical Senses
Chemical Senses
Robert J. Bernal June 6, 2016
Robert Levitt, Instructor
University of Phoenix
Intro
The senses of smell and taste are chemically based senses that are unique to the other
senses in the way in which the brain interprets them. Unlike other senses which are
perceived and categorized analytically, taste and smell both pass through the
emotional response center of the brain on the way to their being stored as memories,
evoking an emotional association to their formation as engrams. Consider the
unlikely association between taste and smell and the emotional response that they
can trigger; a chemical reaction that gives off a gaseous odor , completely
quantifiable by scientific standards, can trigger a purely ... Show more content on

Unlike other senses, the sense of smell does not initially travel directly to the
analytical centers of the brain; instead it passes through the limbic system which is
the center of the brain that many of our emotions and motivations are controlled
(Smell and taste: Science of the senses [Video file], 2008). These motivations
include fear, anger, and emotions related to sexual behavior; structures of this
system also include the amygdala and hippocampus, which both play critical roles in
memory (Bailey, 2016). The amygdala decides where memories are stored in the
brain, it s thought that the size of the emotional impact that the memory holds plays a
large role in it s location in the brain (Bailey, 2016). The Hippocampus sends
memories the appropriate part of the cerebral hemisphere for long term storage and
then retrieves them when needed (Bailey, 2016). It is no surprise that with that the
sense of smell passing through these structures, that meals and tastes that are related
to emotional events, such as weddings, anniversaries, holidays, hold such visceral
reactions when triggered by a smell.
Foodgasm
While there is no credible definition for what a foodgasm is, I will assume that for
the sake of argument that the reader has at least heard the term and can extrapolate
from its construction the meaning of the word. I feel that it is a
Essay on Life Course of a Mas Murderer
The Life Course of a Mass Murderer
Cornelius Davis
DeVry University
The Life Course of a Mass Murderer
On April 16, 2007 one of the most devastating mass murders in U.S history
occurred at a Virginia college. Seung Hui Cho a 23 year old South Korean alone
executed the killing of 33 people by securing colleges doors to prevent escape of any
students. Events such as these are truly tragic and devastating to all involved. By
gathering background information about Seung Hui Cho, we can effectively examine
social development theories as they relate to Cho and review my analysis that this
particular occurrence was preventable. Born in South Korea, Seung Hui Cho
immigrated to America when he was 8 years old. Although Cho was a quiet well...

Cho had a hard childhood and was in the shadows of his very successful sister.
Even in college Cho had no friends and began to look up to other school shooters as
martyrs. Although these individuals were not his friends at all in his situation they
were the closest thing to having friends. In college Cho was accused of stalking
women on two different occasions, was caught taking photos of the legs of female
students in class and was separated out of classes. I believe that Cho s antisocial
lifestyle along with the transition any from home eventually lead him to commit the
mass murder. Cho s anti social lifestyle seemed to escalate to criminal behaviors from
the time he went off to college until the time of the Virginia Tech shooting. I believe
that this tragedy could have been prevented if the proper preventative measures and
treatment techniques were taken. As a boy Cho should have been taken in for a
mental evaluation but I believe the integration of his family into the American society
prevented that. In high school Cho being bullied and teased could have been put to a
stop by teachers and surrounding students. Also when Cho started writing gruesome
poems short stories and plays he should have been recommended to a counselor. Any
counselor that Cho had encounters with could have been a lot more persistent in
getting to the bottom of Cho s situations. A teacher college teacher doesn t just
separate a student from her class. Finally
Human Resource Policies And Human Resources
Human resources policies are at the heart of every business but when companies
deviate from those policies or create a culture of their own polices that can be a
recipe for disaster. Having strong human resource policies can distinguish companies
from the rest and set them out to be the best but in the case of the following
companies human resource policieswe either neglected or altered and it cost the
company more in the end. The nature of business is to make money and the policies
set forth by human resourcesare the ethical guidelines that enable companies to
accomplish that with respect to the financial world that they are involved. I will
look into the policies and see whether they were a sound from the beginning or
whether the policies were doomed from the start. I will see whether the policies
had any ethical merits and how this was overlooked it there was a good foundation.
I will look into some problems with human resource policies then I will go over
companies polices that caused a near bankruptcy and a company policy that caused a
complete failure.
The Risky Business of Human Resource Policies The foundation of any business
starts with its policies and if that foundation is not build with strong ethical policies
then the business will likely fail. The human resource department of a company has
to maintain polices on how employees should conduct themselves and some policies
encourage growth and strength within the company and sometime we forget the
Using Alternative Energy Sources For The Uk Market Essay
1Introduction All the vehicle OEM s are making a major effort to improve fuel
consumption and reduce tailpipe CO2 emissions. One of the most common
application for reducing tailpipe CO2 is using alternative energy sources than
gasoline and diesel [1]. In accordance, this paper aims to present an outline design
for a PHEV version of the Ford Focus family hatchback for the UK Market.
1.1Manufacturer s Corporate Position As quoted in official company page, Ford s
blueprint for sustainability goes beyond improved fuel economy and reduced CO2
emissions to define sustainability as a business model that creates value by
preserving and enhancing environmental, social and financial capital [2]. This
approach confirms an enthusiasm that will eventually lead to hybrid/electric cars
for Ford. Such improvement will mean a lot for UK market, as Ford is a very
strong brand in UK, with Ford Fiesta being the top selling car, while Ford s C
segment representative Focus is in 3rd rank among all competitor models [3].
Additionally, penetrating in electric/hybrid market holds huge potential since 81% of
UK population lives in urban areas [4] which is the already focus market for E.V.
electric hybrid car manufacturers. 1.2Market Status, Market Expectations and
Government Support EV range is the top concern for potential consumers [5], [6]
worldwide. Therefore, the range is the most critical item within the technical
requirements of an electric / hybrid car. In Great Britain, average
Evaluate The Functionalist Theory
The Symbolic Interactionist Theory is a sociological theory with a micro
sociological view. This is an action theory. It examines a way to explain behaviour
within society by looking at small scale interactions i.e. between two people or
smaller groups and explaining the aspects of wider society from these. Symbolic
interactionists believe that we live in a world where symbols have shared
meanings and we use these meanings when interacting with people. For example,
our language is made up of symbols and we all share an understanding of this, so if
we were to read the word nurse we would all share and understanding of what this
word means without even having to have a description or picture shown to us. So,
with most symbols there is always... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Karl Max suggested that society is separated into two groups, the wealthy and the
poor. The wealthy class control and own the means of production for example large
businesses and factories and the poorer class are the ones who supply labour. The
poor class are demoralised by the wealthier class. For example, in care the wealthier
class in turn then receive better care than the poorer class as they can afford to pay
for private care and can also afford to live a better way of life. The poorer class can
not afford private care and may live in poverty and this increases their risk of poor
health. Ronnie currently lives in poverty on the streets and also lived in a poor
area when he was younger which has now resulted in him needing health care due
to his DVT. If Ronnie is cared for in a care setting he will become more nourished as
he will be receiving regular food and will also receive the health care he needs to
make him

  • 4. La Canzone Del Piave La Canzone del Piave (The Piave s song) was arguably the best example among the songs, as Bubola defined them, imposed from above (Bubola, 2015) The song, which has kept intact its popularity until today, is able to narrate the war in its entirety in few verses. Through the tune it is indeed possible to identify the beginning of the war, the early and clamorous Italian Army defeat of Caporetto and the final victory too. But that was also one of the most glaring examples of manipulation of fact carried out by the high command. Despite, as Perucchetti (2015) recognised, the songs has a beautiful melody and incisive lyrics with sharp and imaginative strophes like: Era un presagio dolce e lusinghiero il Piave mormorГІ: Non passa lo straniero! ... (Bubola, 2015) As a result, the soldiers weren t identifying themselves in that song, first of all because of a motto which the superiors imposed them to learn by heart: O il Piave o tutti accoppati (Or we hold on the Piave line or we die). Then, because the song was composed and performed publicly for the first time in Naples one thousand miles far from the war theatre in 1918, only few months before the end of the war. Finally, because the song s meaning was totally distorted. At first, the song was referring to the defeat of Caporetto in a pessimistic way, pointing at the event as national shame and betrayal. The lyrics said

In this era of time, people looked back and studied the Greek and Roman knowledge, skills, attitude, and art, while stepping out of the Middle Ages artwork techniques and creating new techniques to breathe realism, individualism, humanism, mannerism, and more into the art. The Middle Ages artwork majorly focussed on the religious aspect of the art, leaving out the techniques to make the art look realistic. However, the Renaissance artwork used many new techniques that they developed, like chiaroscuro, the use of light and shading, to create an effect that the Middle Ages artwork had not seen before. The art shows how the Renaissance evolved from focussing

When an organization functions as a global citizen through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, this often boosts its reputation externally. (Pio, 2005) Tata has been built on a strong reputation not only within the home country, but in different locations around the globe. For over 130 years, Tata s mission has always been to develop India as a great industrial power. Tata truly believes the development of a nation lies in the hands of the business owners. Tata has done a great deal in developing the infrastructure of India, especially in Jamshedpur, the city where Tata originated. • 7. Hiroshima And The Inheritance Of Trauma What if I told you truma could be inherited; meaning you were not the one who initially experienced the traumatic event, however, you still suffer great stress from it. Sarah Stillman in Hiroshima and the Inheritance of Trauma suggests that trauma may be a contagious disease that can spread amongst both families as well as generations. She uses an example of a woman named Tomiko Shoji who was only nineteen when she survived the bombing of Hiroshima. Shoji suffered post traumatic stress disorder as well has radiation poisoning, which consisted of her losing her hearing, sight, and teeth in her forties. She also had psychological symptoms which consisted of losing control during thunder storms and collapsing with fear when she tried to speak of the event. Some of these were inherited by her granddaughter Keni Sabath who first became aware of her grandmother s experience in a disturbing way at the young age of six. According to an article in Scientific American by Tori Rodriguez, there is a study being done that researches mass trauma survivors and their offspring. The study looks at holocaust survivors and their descendents as well as their levels of cortisol, a hormone that helps the body return to normal after trauma. Sabath was affected by the trauma because she has close contact with Shoji who experienced the trauma. This goes to show that trauma after all may be a contagious disease , one that haunts not only the traumatized individual but those they are close to.

That is a question, which gives rise to many other questions, like why do we exist, what is the purpose of our life? There is the thought that out reason of existence is only known by God. That he has chosen it for us before we were ever born, and that point of the reason is to be here for anyone else. The fundamental principle of utility explicit that actions or behaviors are right in so far because they motivate contentment or pleasure, wrong as they tend to develop unhappiness or sadness. Therefore, usefulness is a teleological principle. This once again gives rise to some of the similar fundamental issues concerned with hedonism, as discussed in the earlier section on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many utilitarian s believe that contentment and sadness are primary states and can be, more or less, quantified. Hedonistic expressions like strength, duration, fertility, and probability, implicit that pleasure can be qualified quantitatively, possibly on a scale from 1 to10, as area of a ferocious calculus. The basic issue for utilitarianism is giving grounds for the altruistic principle of self sacrificing fr others advantages. Since, I do not attend the events of the friendly games played at the stadium, and will not benefit from hot dog events, why should I constitute to other project? Under exemplary standard of utilitarianism, at least some of the members of the community or class must compromise their own intellectual interests for the well being of others without benefiting themselves. Honestly, it is often the case that turns out to be in the public interest disputes with the private interests of certain individuals. How can one justify such altruism based upon utilitarian rules and regulations? Often, it is possible for an act to give a maximum amount of quantifiable contentment for a few individuals at the cost of a minimum amount of quantifiable sadness for others. Let s suppose, for instance, we have a very small, but significant number of vagrant children that could be helped by implementing a small tax on every individual in Cincinnati. A utilitarian would not be able to give ground for implementing that tax, until and unless it could

Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games and quizzes that teach you about air pollution. During this game you earn points and you can trade it in for coupons and the coupon is sent to the person by email, and comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded in for things that help air pollution(free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get coupons, is because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the environment. Also getting your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a few people. To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. We the car manufactures are concerned that the next generation of drivers will not be educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn about air pollution for a small price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however time, distance, and weather, contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine

He published articles in The New Republic and The Nation. In 1968, Witten published an article in The Nation arguing that the New Left had no strategy.[4] He worked briefly for George McGovern s presidential campaign. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the late 1980s, Witten coined the term topological quantum field theory for a certain type of physical theory in which the expectation values of observable quantities encode information about the topology of spacetime.[5] In particular, Witten realized that a physical theory now called Chern Simons theory could provide a framework for understanding the mathematical theory of knots and 3 manifolds.[6] Although Witten s work was based on the mathematically ill defined notion of a Feynman path integral and was therefore not mathematically rigorous, mathematicians were able to systematically develop Witten s ideas, leading to the theory of Reshetikhin Turaev invariants.[7] Another result for which Witten was awarded the Fields Medal was his (nonrigorous) proof in 1981 of the positive energy theorem in general relativity.[8] This theorem asserts that (under appropriate assumptions) the total energy of a gravitating system is always positive and can be zero only if the geometry of spacetime is that of flat Minkowski space. It establishes Minkowski space as a stable ground state of the gravitational field. While the original proof of this result due to Richard Schoen and Shing Tung Yau used variational methods,[9][10] Witten s proof used ideas from supergravity theory to simplify the argument. Looking at just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health. It was this day that was the start of a long dark history of cruelty and ill treatment towards the traditional custodians of Australia. Under the terra nullius law, the Aboriginals lost their land, which is now known as dispossession. To justify this dispossession, the English followed the set of beliefs that are now identified as social Darwinism. Social Darwinism, with its powerful racially based doctrines, ranked Indigenous Australians as inferior to Europeans and provided a rationale for dispossession by drawing on the laws of natural selection to justify the inevitable extinction of Indigenous Australians in the face of the arrival of the superior white race (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 75). By having their land taken away from them, the Aboriginals lost part of their spiritual connection and their sense of belonging and identity because Aboriginal culture is based heavily on the spirits of the land. These connections that bonded the Aboriginals to the land were never understood by the English settlers, who only saw the land as possible income (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009.). They also lost a lot of their sacred areas, spiritual areas and meeting places because they were on the land that the white people had divided and fenced of the land that these areas were on and if an Aboriginal was trying to

Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms Do you believe that single gender elementary classrooms are better for children s education rather than traditional coeducational classrooms, or vice versa? There are many differences in boy brains and girl brains and according to these differences; it may be potential to have different learning techniques and environments. Some schools are adopting the newer curriculum of single gender classrooms to help children achieve a better educational learning environment that suits both boys and girls separately. Although it is not fully understood if it is a better educationchoice, a lot of studies show that single gender classrooms can be useful to help improve achievement. However, other experts may think otherwise because they do not believe that there is any significant evidence that prove it is necessary to separate genders since every single person is different or that it may even deny equal opportunities. A comparison of the single gender classrooms versus traditional classrooms both shows the belief for higher education, but I believe single gender classrooms offer a positive alternative to the traditional mixed classrooms. Over the years, research experts discovered new ways on how each gender develops and processes information by using reliable technology such as MRI and PET which are technology that allows you to see soft tissue and the anatomy structure. What they have found is that girls have more active frontal lobes, which provide

These regions broke up the original colonies into groups. These regions had many differences in their populations, town systems, and cultures. These differences helped to define the different regions. The colonial region of New England was made up of Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay, New Haven, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. This region was made up of a primarily puritan population, which affected every aspect of life in the region including how towns in this area were set up, social interactions in the area, and the level of education. Towns in the New Englandregion were all set up around a centralized town square, in which people had to live a mile away from. People also lived in relatively close together in the region because they believed that the sins of one counted as sins of them all causing them to all watch each other closely. Much of the population in this area were not new immigrants once established, rather families who settled there permanently in the region so that they can have their religious freedom. The difficulty with attempting to analyze the leadership style of Branson is that everything that has been written about him prefaces his achievement with his larger than life personality. There s no denying that Branson is fun and passionate, but he s also very bright and very hardworking. One might also argue that his extroversion is also well documented from his hot air balloon rides to the very name he selected to represent his brand. A brand name like Virgin demands recognition just for the name itself and I m sure in 1970 s England it drew the attention. Virgin seems to have a knack for doing things in a sort of fun way no matter what the product. When you think of Virgin Mobile, you think about how easy they made it for anyone (everyone) to have cell service. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic seems to make travel for anyone easier and a possibility by offering lower fares to many destinations. You imagine a younger hip executive flying Virgin Atlantic, while a stodgier older executive would fly British Airways. • 22. Diverse Characters In Cassandra Clare s The Shadowhunter... Cassandra Clare s works, The Shadowhunter Chronicles, are full of diverse characters, and for various reasons. One reason being that she believes it is important for novels to have all different kinds of characters to reflect the world around us; because the world is diverse, the book she writes must also be diverse. Creating relatable characters so that readers of any sexual orientation, race, or gender are able to identify with her works is something Clare strives for. For example, Clare made the choice of writing her main character as a young female because she would have wanted to read that as a teenager. Every character is created in order to give people, especially those who are not as represented in the media, someone to look up to or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Born in the 1950s, Raphael came to New York, where the series is set, from Aside from when he is turned into a vampire, the readers do not receive much insight into Raphael s childhood. As a vampire, Raphael quickly becomes the leader of one of the most chief clans and gains a significant amount of power. His role in the books is significant because it shows that anyone, regardless of race, is capable of holding a powerful position and using that position in a wise manner to benefit their people. Growing up as a biracial child was especially hard for Maia mostly because of the racism that existed in the conservative, mostly white neighborhood where she lived before running away from home. Throughout the series, Clare gives Maia quite a few relationships, some more serious than others; this is important because it expresses that girls who look like Maia are capable of and allowed to have romantic, healthy relationships despite how rarely that portrayal is shown in the
  • 23. Plastics And The Plastic Age The current period in human history is referred to as the plastic age (CГіzar et al 2014). Plastic is synthetic polymers derived from petroleum (Vikas Dwarakish 2015), it is lightweight, inexpensive to produce and hailed as an industrial achievement (Detloff Istel 2016). Moreover, plastic does not decompose, the durable material simply breaks into smaller particles, pervading the water and marine life (Detloff Istel 2016). Our current society has established a constant consume and discard rhythm, fuelling the plasticeconomy . Marine plastic pollution mainly occurs from land based plastic debris, comprised of: littering, incessant plastic bag use and inappropriate disposal (Derriak 2002). Microplastics are pieces of plastic less than five millimetres in size (Detloff Istel 2016). These particles account for 92% of the plastics in the ocean (Shim Thomposon 2015). Microplastics have become ubiquitous in the ocean, found as far as the Arctic and Antarctic seas (Obbard et al 2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015; Law Thompson 2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015). Plastic pollution is also significantly damaging the fragile marine ecosystem, as well as massacring innocent marine creatures (Deltoff Istell 2016; Avio, Gorbi Regoli 2017). Overall, preventing ocean plastic pollution is difficult, due to the large volume of production and contamination, particularly microplastics, coupled with inadequate disposal practices of plastic. In 2014, 311 million tonnes of plastic were produced (Detloff Istel 2016), and half was disposed of within the year (Singh Sharma 2016). The most commonly used and plentiful polymers are: high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate (Andray Neal 2009 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). These polymers account for 90% of total plastic production, and as a result are the most common plastics found in aquatic environments (Andray 2011 and Engel 2012 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). Plastic debris often migrates to form five subtropical gyres, large garbage patches colloquially dubbed marine soup (Eriksen et al 2013; Weinstein 2009). It is estimated five to thirteen tonnes of

  • 28. Locavorism And Local Food Locavorism is a food trend in which a consumer buys locally produced food. The term local in relation to locavorasim is defined geographically within a one hundred mile distance from which the product originated. Locavorism has proven to be very beneficial to local communities where it is regularly practiced. With the ongoing issues of food production in the U.S., locavorism can provide a solution to these problems, for the trend promotes local economies, provides healthier options for consumers, and reduces the carbon footprint. The growing costof food production is largely due to the expenditures companies use for mechanization, irrigation, heating systems in greenhouses, fertilizers, plastics in greenhouses, lab work, and chemical additives. (Azevedo) The idea of locavorism is that the product goes from producer to consumer with no intermediary. This concept cuts out the cost of middlemen in mass production, and generates a larger revenue for farmers. Although local fooddoes not go through the same production process as food produced in factories, local food is more expensive when purchased. This is because farmers must charge for labor, materials, and time in order to generate a profit. The local farmer is not a business peon, but a person making a living. This circulation of local wealth betters communities, and gives less power to the large scale monopolized producers. As said before, the price of local food is higher, but in turn it yields less health problems than

The foundations of memorable weddings are built on those that bring often distant family and friends together for the occasion, while dressed in their most sophisticated attire, surrounded by elegant flowers, a night of dancing, captured through the lens of an exceptional photographer. On the other hand, Muslim weddings last only one for a day. According to Hindu doctrine, marriages are not considered binding and completed without completion of certain traditional rituals by the bride and groom together. There are eight types of marriages in Hinduism culture according to the Laws of Manusmriti. All eight symbolize different groups of people and their beliefs in humanity. The eight types include: Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha. The first four are considered proper (Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya), whereas the last four are considered not to have religious sanctions (Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, Paishacha). This would allow them to focus more on the projects which may provide breakthrough for the
  • 40. Cause And Effect Essay On Scarlet Fever You have a fever of 102 degrees or higher. It hurts to move, because you have a sandpaper like rash, it feels as almost youre burning from the inside out. You have side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, swollen glands, body aches, and even the horrible ВЁstrawberry tongueВЁ. This sickness is definitely something you would pay money for to never have again, as this is very serious and not something to take lightly. This is know as the Scarlet Fever. In the 1800s, the scarlet feverwas basically known as a death sentence. ВЁOne of the most dreaded diseases of childhoodВЁ. This disease is so severe that it causes death in a short amount of time or gives rise to even more severe complications. In the seventeenth century, this disease was separated from other infections, especially the measles, but remained for the nineteenth century. The fatality of this disease depends upon the virulence of the Scarlet Fever organism. Death from the Scarlet Fever varies from one to fifteen percent. This deadly diseases is definitely not something that people took lightly, that is rather a good thing though. The cause of the scarlet fever is actually rather complicated. Scientist are mostly sure that Streptococci are almost constantly found in the throat and blood of Scarlet Fever patients. They say it is caused by an infection with the group A beta hemolytic streptococcus. Which is usually transmitted by respiratory droplets. The period of incubation varies, but it generally lasts from 3 to
  • 41. Wound Weights Movement Analysis I suggests women generally start with a set of two 5 to 10 pound weights, and men start with a set of two 10 to 20 pound weights. How to: Stand with a weight in each hand, near hips, palms forward. Shoulders and elbows should be pinned against the wall. Without moving upper arms, curl weights up until dumbbells are shoulder level, then lower to starting position. Aim for 14 to 22 reps with good form shoulders flat against the wall, raising arms for a count of two and lowering them for a count of two. What we try to do is fatigue that muscle to the point where you feel the bicep really straining. Your form might start to give just a little or you cant quite get to the rep range, Booker says. If your muscles fail or you can t maintain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The same goes for the high end. If you can easily do the max rep range in good form, then add weight for the next set. the row is the way to go. Plus, it s a fairly easy move to master. How to: Stand behind a box, feet shoulder width apart, dumbbell in right hand. Bend your left knee and place it on top of the box, and extend your right leg back behind you, knee slightly bent, toes on the floor. Lean over at the hips and place your left arm on the box in front of your knee to help brace yourself. Pick up your dumbbell with the right hand. Keeping your back flat, elbow close to your body, lift the weight up towards the right side of your chest, while simultaneously squeezing your shoulders together. Slowly lower dumbbell back down. Complete prescribed amount of reps, then switch to the other side. Over time, you may find your heavy set of weights feels lighter to you as you master your lifts and build muscle. Congrats: Now, start adding more weight, in five pound increments. It s called progressive overload; you re going to slowly add weight and it should be done within a targeted rep range, Booker
  • 42. Health Inequities Public Health As a nation, the United States (U.S.) stands for liberty and justice for all. Here, I will make a case on how to reduce health inequities and improve public health in the U.S. Life Course (LC) is a conceptual framework that is population focused and firmly rooted in social determinants and social equity models. It allows us to study human development, behavior, and interactions at the nexus of social pathways, developmental trajectories, and social change (Elder et al, 2003). Currently, much of public healthpractice seeks to improve health by changing individuals behaviors to reduce chronic illness in aging population. However, LC aims to steer research away from age specific studies, promote a holistic understanding over our life time lives... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This second tenet emphasizes that lives are interdependent and reciprocally connected on several levels. Societal and individual experiences are linked thorough the family and its network of shared relationships (Elder et al, 2003). Moen and Chermack (2005) expand upon this concept by theorizing a gendered life course. Although women in the U.S. tend to live longer than men, they typically experience more stress and poor health. Also, this concept of linked lives implicitly associates women as the primary caretaker of children and ailing persons. This responsibility for others has led to what Moen and Chermack (2005) describe as a gendered career path whereby women are more often than not assumed to occupy the role of home maker and mother before other priorities. Through a variety of mechanisms, including stress, this concept of linked lives has been associated with poor health outcomes for women. More specifically, men and women s life courses are embedded and mediated through the lives of others and can apply across generations. Marriage can serve as a buffer for stressors for men. Consequently, life s stressful events can also affect family relationships because these occurrences can trigger patterns of
  • 43. Florida State University Essay Introduction Nick Tosches once said, I don t have a college degree (Picturequotes, 2017). Quite frankly, neither do I considering the fact that I am fourteen years old and not a genius. Over the course of the past nine weeks, I have been researching about Florida State University, it s financial aid, the process of going through college, and Florida State University s history. College Information Biographical Florida State University is one of 145 colleges in Florida. The history behind it just makes it ever so unique and more differentiating from those other colleges. Florida State University gained its beginning in 1823, where the Territorial Legislature began to plan a higher education system (Florida State University: History,... Eventually due to reorganization, when the University of Gainesville was established, it became a men s school, so Florida State College had become a womans school. The name then changed once again to Florida Female college, and then again. In 1909 the name of the college was changed to Florida State College for Women, an institution which grew to become the third largest women s college in the nation during the 1930 s (Florida State University: History, 2017). In 1947, those returning from World War II had brought back men, thus it no longer being a women s college. After the men had returned, the college s title changed to Florida State University. Soon after, throughout the years until more recent times, the major changes made to the university included new developments of structures and new designations for different organizations (Florida State University: History, 2017). Personal I would like to attend Florida State University for multiple reasons. First of all, I already feel a personal connection with Florida due to the fact that it is my home state where I was born. The sense of familiarity gives me comfort. I also have family that lives in Florida if anything were to happen or go wrong. I would like to pursue a major in Arts and Sciences and also have a minor in psychology. My future aspirations in life vary from a few different things. In the most specific manner, I hope to become a prison psychologist. Shall
  • 44. Chemical Senses Chemical Senses Robert J. Bernal June 6, 2016 Robert Levitt, Instructor University of Phoenix Intro The senses of smell and taste are chemically based senses that are unique to the other senses in the way in which the brain interprets them. Unlike other senses which are perceived and categorized analytically, taste and smell both pass through the emotional response center of the brain on the way to their being stored as memories, evoking an emotional association to their formation as engrams. Consider the unlikely association between taste and smell and the emotional response that they can trigger; a chemical reaction that gives off a gaseous odor , completely quantifiable by scientific standards, can trigger a purely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike other senses, the sense of smell does not initially travel directly to the analytical centers of the brain; instead it passes through the limbic system which is the center of the brain that many of our emotions and motivations are controlled (Smell and taste: Science of the senses [Video file], 2008). These motivations include fear, anger, and emotions related to sexual behavior; structures of this system also include the amygdala and hippocampus, which both play critical roles in memory (Bailey, 2016). The amygdala decides where memories are stored in the brain, it s thought that the size of the emotional impact that the memory holds plays a large role in it s location in the brain (Bailey, 2016). The Hippocampus sends memories the appropriate part of the cerebral hemisphere for long term storage and then retrieves them when needed (Bailey, 2016). It is no surprise that with that the sense of smell passing through these structures, that meals and tastes that are related to emotional events, such as weddings, anniversaries, holidays, hold such visceral reactions when triggered by a smell. Foodgasm While there is no credible definition for what a foodgasm is, I will assume that for the sake of argument that the reader has at least heard the term and can extrapolate from its construction the meaning of the word. I feel that it is a

Essay on Life Course of a Mas Murderer The Life Course of a Mass Murderer Cornelius Davis DeVry University The Life Course of a Mass Murderer On April 16, 2007 one of the most devastating mass murders in U.S history occurred at a Virginia college. Seung Hui Cho a 23 year old South Korean alone executed the killing of 33 people by securing colleges doors to prevent escape of any students. Events such as these are truly tragic and devastating to all involved. Cho had a hard childhood and was in the shadows of his very successful sister. Even in college Cho had no friends and began to look up to other school shooters as martyrs. Although these individuals were not his friends at all in his situation they were the closest thing to having friends. In college Cho was accused of stalking women on two different occasions, was caught taking photos of the legs of female students in class and was separated out of classes. I believe that Cho s antisocial lifestyle along with the transition any from home eventually lead him to commit the mass murder. Cho s anti social lifestyle seemed to escalate to criminal behaviors from the time he went off to college until the time of the Virginia Tech shooting. I believe that this tragedy could have been prevented if the proper preventative measures and treatment techniques were taken. As a boy Cho should have been taken in for a mental evaluation but I believe the integration of his family into the American society prevented that. In high school Cho being bullied and teased could have been put to a stop by teachers and surrounding students. Also when Cho started writing gruesome poems short stories and plays he should have been recommended to a counselor. Any counselor that Cho had encounters with could have been a lot more persistent in getting to the bottom of Cho s situations. A teacher college teacher doesn t just separate a student from her class. Finally

Human Resource Policies And Human Resources Human resources policies are at the heart of every business but when companies deviate from those policies or create a culture of their own polices that can be a recipe for disaster. Having strong human resource policies can distinguish companies from the rest and set them out to be the best but in the case of the following companies human resource policieswe either neglected or altered and it cost the company more in the end. The nature of business is to make money and the policies set forth by human resourcesare the ethical guidelines that enable companies to accomplish that with respect to the financial world that they are involved. I will look into the policies and see whether they were a sound from the beginning or whether the policies were doomed from the start. I will see whether the policies had any ethical merits and how this was overlooked it there was a good foundation. I will look into some problems with human resource policies then I will go over companies polices that caused a near bankruptcy and a company policy that caused a complete failure. The Risky Business of Human Resource Policies The foundation of any business starts with its policies and if that foundation is not build with strong ethical policies then the business will likely fail. The human resource department of a company has to maintain polices on how employees should conduct themselves and some policies encourage growth and strength within the company and sometime we forget the

It examines a way to explain behaviour within society by looking at small scale interactions i.e. between two people or smaller groups and explaining the aspects of wider society from these. Symbolic interactionists believe that we live in a world where symbols have shared meanings and we use these meanings when interacting with people. For example, our language is made up of symbols and we all share an understanding of this, so if we were to read the word nurse we would all share and understanding of what this word means without even having to have a description or picture shown to us. So, with most symbols there is always... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Karl Max suggested that society is separated into two groups, the wealthy and the poor. The wealthy class control and own the means of production for example large businesses and factories and the poorer class are the ones who supply labour. The poor class are demoralised by the wealthier class. For example, in care the wealthier class in turn then receive better care than the poorer class as they can afford to pay for private care and can also afford to live a better way of life. The poorer class can not afford private care and may live in poverty and this increases their risk of poor health.
