Crafting an essay on the topic of "Student Life" is a task that involves a unique set of challenges
and complexities. The difficulty arises from the diverse nature of student experiences and the
multitude of perspectives one can explore within this broad subject.

Moreover, the challenge lies in striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and
universal elements that resonate with a wider audience. An essay on student life demands
introspection and the ability to distill one's unique experiences into a narrative that others can
relate to, despite their diverse backgrounds.
The ever-evolving nature of student life adds an additional layer of complexity. With the rapid
pace of societal changes, technological advancements, and shifts in educational paradigms,
keeping the content relevant and up-to-date poses a constant challenge. An effective essay on

Sony Mission Statement
Introduction In an economy that thrives thoroughly on technology and progression
itself, there are many companies that have taken advantage of the opportunities that
have been offered to them through science. Because of the continuous growth in
technology, companies have been able to find ways to further their success by
offering competitive products and service. One company, in particular, that has
taken full advantage of this feature is Sony. This company alone has had
tremendous success because of their strategic ways of thinking and their
unbelievable talent in taking advantage of every ounce of new technology that is
able to be utilized. But also by taking advantage of online commerce or e commerce

Of course, just acknowledging a corporate mission statement on a piece of paper will
not be enough in itself to alter the corporate culture, but there are examples of mission
statements that have had a significant impact on corporate culture, depending on the
approach of the company. We will look at two of the more prominent Japanese
companies that have been struggling through the economic hardships of the past
decade. When the company was founded in 1946, Mr. Ibuka created the Founding
Perspectus, a document outlining the mission and values that he wanted his company
to adopt. The first section was the Purpose of Incorporation , which was broken down
into the following eight points: a.To establish of an ideal factory that stresses a spirit
of freedom and open mindedness, and where engineers with sincere motivation can
exercise their technological skills to the highest level; b.To reconstruct Japan and to
elevate the nation s culture through dynamic technological and manufacturing
activities; c.To promptly apply highly advanced technologies which were developed
in various sectors during the war to common households; d.To rapidly commercialize
superior technological findings in universities and research institutions that are
Censorship And Censorship Of Music
Throughout the years, music has evolved and transformed in many ways. However,
there are restrictions in today s music, otherwise known as, censorships. A crisis has
emerged concerning the issue of censorship. This argument consists of two possible
stances: one, supporting the continuation of censorship, and two, eliminating the
status quo of censorships in the music industry. There have been countless debates
and arguments regarding the issues of censorshipever since the U.S. Congress passed
the Radio Act in 1927 (The History). The time has arrived for censorship to be
brought to an end. The government should release their grip on the censorship of
music for the following reasons: it obstructs the public s freedom of choice, it... Show

I can t seem. To find myself again. My walls are closing in. (Linkin Park, Crawling ).
These lyrics just show to prove how much emotion was displayed into the song
itself. With that said, censorship sabotages an artist s intent to express themselves.
Not only does it limit one s ability to put forth one s feelings into his or her songs,
but it also affects the artist s creativity.
Second of all, music should not be censored because it reduces an artist s capability
to be creative. A musician uses certain lyrics for a reason. Every lyric has some
sort of meaning. Whether it be to rhyme with a subsequent phrase, or going with
the flow. Regardless of its purpose, it still has value. However, creativity is not only
limited to the lyrics in a song. Creativity can also be express through rhythm and
tone. The downside, one can only have so much creativity than resides in the tone
of a song. In the song, Never Take Away My Freedom it says, Can take everything I
own. You can have and sing my song. You can never take away my freedom (David
Guetta). This means that he could be stripped of everything that he owns. But his
freedom can never be taken away by anyone. This holds true about music as well.
Artists have the ability to create any kind of music they wish. Lyrics help surpass that
limitation of creativity. An artist s lyrics cannot and should not be contained by the
power of the government. It takes time and dedication to create music. Musicians

Last Hundred Days Analysis
After collecting many statistics on the battle of WW1 (Battle of Ypres, Battle of
Somme, Battle of Vimy Ridge, Battle of Passchendaele, and Battle of Last Hundred
Days) I came to the conclusion that the battle of Hundred Days had the greatest
number of Canadian casualties overall. After looking through the statistics of the
casualties among Canadian soldiers throughout the following battles I saw that
Canadas Hundred Days Battle had a substantially greater amount of wounded and
dead soldiers compared to the battles of Ypres, Somme, Vimy Ridge, and
Passchendaele. Canada s Hundred Day battle cost Canada about 36,000 casualties in
total, then Battle of Somme with about 24,000 casualties, then Passchendaele with
approximately 16,000 casualties,
Why Tayo Is Captive To The Ceremony
In the book Ceremony writen by Leslie Silko, the main character Tayo is being
held captive to the ceremony. Tayo was in the Vietnam war and witnessed his best
friend die. This took a major toll him because he promised that he would keep his
best friend safe. The only way Tayo can heal from this is by doing the ceremoy.
That is why Tayo is captive to the Ceremony. Around page Tayo is trying to get
help from an old medecine man named Betonie. This is Tayo s first ceremony.
Betonie and shush are chanting as they cut Tayo s scalp. After the ceremony Tayo
is given some tea to help him calm down. That night Tayo sleeps good and dreams
about Josiah s cattle. This shows how Tayo is captive to the Ceremony. Tayo has not

Ku ooh tells tayo that he is not sure if the ceremony will work for Tayo. He told
him that there are other people that did the same Ceremony and were not able to
be healed. Though Tayo was able to sleep well for one night, he is not fully healed.
This shows that Tayo is captive to the ceremony because he is forced to continue
on with it even though he feels it might not work. Tayo wants to do anything he
can to get rid of the bad dreams he is having so he knows he must complete the
ceremony just to have a chance. Tayo is also told that if he doesn t complete the
ceremony his dreams are going to be haunted. This is because the ceremony is
meant to help people who have killed someone. Tayo has not ever killed anyone, so
if he does not finish the ceremony he is going to be cursed. This shows another
way tayo is captive to the ceremony, not only does he need to finish because it
might help him heal but now he must finish it so he is not cursed. At the end of the
book Tayo finally completes the ceremony. Tayo goes through his last ceremony
with the elders and at the end they say Every evil which entangled him was cut to
pieces. This tells us that the ceremony worked for him and he is free from his
nightmares. I
Brothers Are The Same By Temas Character Analysis
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that required so much determination and
strength? So has Temas, a young Masai boy who has trouble believing in himself in
the story entitled Brothers Are the Same by Beryl Markham. In Brothers Are the
Same, Temas must prove his manhood by killing a lion, which can be seen through
his thoughts, actions and appearance.
Throughout the story, Temas conflicts with himself and believes he does not have the
strength to kill the lion. Temas, in his mind, wasn t afraid of death. He was afraid of
failure. He knew and he constantly thought that if the other youths saw even a breath
of fear, they would call him a coward. It s stated in text: There were ten youths
hidden about the ravine, and they would witness
Mommy Makeover Research Paper
A woman s body undergoes some tremendous changes during pregnancy and
childbirth. The unwanted effects of childbearing and breastfeeding, especially weight
gain and sagging skin, often remain long after childbirth.
If pregnancy has wrecked havoc on your body and you are a bit sad about your
postpartum body, don t despair. You can get your pre baby body back with the help
of a surgical intervention, called Mommy Makeover.
What is Mommy Makeover?
Mommy makeover is a combination of multiple body contouring procedures,
including breast surgery, body sculpting with liposuction, and abdominoplasty (also
known as a tummy tuck). These procedures can reverse the changes associated with
pregnancy and childbirth, and dramatically improve how you look ... Show more

After the baby arrives, the abdominal muscles and skin shrink back down, leaving the
mother with stretch marks, loose skin and lax muscles. The excess fat and loose skin
can be removed from the abdominal region via an abdominoplasty.
Removal of Fat Deposition
Weight gain is inevitable during pregnancy. It s normal, healthy and also necessary,
albeit in reasonable measures. Putting on too much weight is not a good sign. The
unwanted fat deposits in the neck, arms, back and knees that do not go away after
pregnancy can be addressed through liposuction.
Laser Technology to Rejuvenate Your Skin
New mommies often go for laser therapy to enhance the texture, tone and quality of
your skin. There are a variety of laser treatments that can give you a smoother,
firmer, more vibrant looking complexion by removing fine lines, wrinkles and
folds from your face. Today, laser technology is widely used to correct loose or
sagging skin, erase signs of sun damage and remove unwanted hair on the face or
body.
Cellulite Therapy
There are many cellulite treatments, including massages or cellulite creams, that can
improve the appearance of the dimpled skin on the thighs, hips, buttocks and
abdomen.

Napoleon And Satire
Charlie Chaplin and Horace do a phenomenal job entertaining and explaining the
idea and use of satire in both of their works. The satire in Horace s Book I Sat I and
satire in Modern Times are different as satire in Horace uses satire in the ideas of
people such as merchants and soldiers, while satire in Modern Times is about the
things happening around the little tramp and the things the little tramp is doing. They
are also similar as they both use many types of satirical devices such as ironyand both
use humor to entertain the idea of satire.
In book I satire I, Horace begins essentially complaining about others complaining
about themselves. How come, Maecenas, no one alive s ever content with the lot he
chose or the fate threw in his way .
Examples Of Fear In East Of Eden
In the novel East of Eden many examples show just how powerful fear can be if
used for selfish gain or as a defence mechanism. Fear being one of the biggest
overtones (if not the biggest) allows us to see how huge an influence fear can be in
a person s life, as with Cathy the main antagonist who lives to hold the fearof her
blackmailing someone and men s sexual desires over their heads to attain whatever
her twisted desires are. Cathy the embodiment of evil in the novel, who lives by fear
is found consistently using it to her advantage to apprehend whatever her black
corrupted heart desires from the unsuspecting people around her. Often times she
would blackmail men and uses sex as her weapon of destruction, her blackmailing
these men often led to them committing suicidedue to the impending stress that she
implements in their lives, in the beginning of the novel Cathy preys on her lust
driven teacher and eventually drives him to suicide and lures school boys into a barn
where her mother finds her tied up with her skirt... Show more content on

Throughout most of its history, the Coors Brewing Company (Coors) has been a
regionalized brewer within the United States, specializing in high quality beer
through by virtue of its source water selection, stringent production standards, and
cold filtered brewing approach. As the company expanded its distribution to new
markets within the U.S. in attempt to gain market share, it made a strategic decision

During that time Coors also pioneered the aluminum can a standard in the beverage
industry today.
Much of what has been accomplished by Coors over the past century has been at the
management hands of the Coors family. In the 21st century, the beer industry
landscape changed dramatically. It has evolved into a competitive industry that
competes internationally at multiple levels. Coors is looking to continue to grow and
become the 5th largest brewer by volume worldwide. Many questions arise, however,
and many challenges must be met to accomplish this goal. Will Coors be able to
maintain its family culture business structure on an international stage or will it have
to give up family control to achieve its growth goal? Will Coors attempt, at least on
some level, to grow its core product organically? And if so, how will the company
address its distribution logistics issues of product delivery from Golden, Colorado?
Can Coors maintain the quality level on an international stage that has become
synonymous with its domestic reputation? In essence, does the Rocky Mountain
King have the necessary competencies within the current management, and within its
business strategy/approach to become an international company? III. Industry

beverages. There are many different types of commercial beer that are
Blade Runner
Importance of Presentation
The movie Blade Runner is a science fiction which deals with ideas, such as time
travel or human cloning. The movie has certain terminologies which form the base of
the movie and which makes the movie interesting, such as Replicants and Blade
Runner .
What are blade runners? They are androids that look like real human beings. They are
artificially created humanoids with short, fixed life spans, which are illegal on Earth
but are used in the off world colonies. They display not only great physical strength in
the film but also great intelligence. In simplest terms, Replicants are Robots or
Clones created by humans. The term replicant, in the movie, is used in such a way
that it gives a new meaning and concept

Feminism Is An Interdisciplinary Idea
Feminism is an interdisciplinary idea. In sociology, feminism broadens our ideas on
gender and transforms it into a major field of study. George Ritzer, in Contemporary
Sociological Theory and Its Classical Roots, breaks feminist theory down into four
major varieties, gender differences, gender inequality, genderoppression, and
structural oppression. He then explains the different forms of feminismseen in each
variety.
The first variety, gender difference, describes, explains, and traces the implications
of how men and women are or are not the same in behavior and experience. Women
s location in, and experience of, most situations is different from those of men in
the situation. (Ritzer, 201) Cultural feminism is one of two theories Ritzer discusses
under gender differences. This theory explores and celebrates the social value of
women s distinctive ways of being. The core idea of theory is that a woman s way of
being may be better for society; better than those of the androcentric culture.
Cooperation, pacifism, and nonviolence in the settling of disputes, these virtues of
women can be argued better for governing a society. Another form of feminist theory
Ritzer places under the variety gender difference is feminist interactionist theory. In
this theory ethnomethodology claims that institutional order, culture, and
stratification are maintained by the ongoing activities of individuals in interaction.
(Ritzer, 204)When this concept is applied to gender it creates the

Does writing down notes on paper more effective than typing it?
Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the main part of the brain, which has two halves, or
hemispheres. The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body and deals with
things such as creativity, music, and art. While the left hemisphere of the cerebrum
controls the right side of the body and is in charge of language, problem solving,
and math. The cerebrum s many tasks are carried out by its outer layer, or its cortex.
This has distinct areas that have different roles. Motor areas trigger movement;
sensory areas deal with the senses, while association areas clarify information.
Cerebellum: The cerebellum is responsible for producing smooth, coordinated
movements of the body. It analyzes incoming information about the body s current
movement and position then interacts with the primary motor cortex to precisely
time muscle contractions.
Why does writing something down help us remember it better?
Our brain is separated into several regions that undergo different kind of information.
Then there are regions that process information such as visual, verbal communication,
auditory, emotions, etc. These different regions communicate with each other and
each one of them has its own processes it has to complete first. For example one
looks at a piece of art and express their emotions with language, thus working the
verbal function part of the brain.
When we hear a lecture, the section of our brain that handles listening and
Traditional Approaches To Political Science
Traditional Approaches to political science
The traditional approaches to political science were widely prevalent till the outbreak
of second World War. These approaches were mainly related to the traditional view of
politics which emphasized the study of the state and government. Therefore,
traditional approaches are primarily concerned with the study of organization and
activities of the state.
Characteristics of traditional approaches:
They are largely normative.
Emphasize on the study of political structure.
Made little attempt to relate theory and research.
These approaches believe that studies in political science can never be scientific.

how we react to change in our lives. The four characters are Sniff, Scurry, Hem and

My cheese disappeared when I graduated high school. I knew there was a nice hunk
of cheese waiting for me in the Navy, but I decided to follow the corridor to
Virginia Tech s cheese! Eventually, that cheese ran out and I enlisted in the Navy.
For the past eight years I have enjoyed the everlasting cheese provided by the Navy,
but since my time overseas I have sensed the cheese is running out. Just as Hem
and Haw became complacent when they initially found their cheese, I was
complacent with the Navy. I always figured I was going to retire with at least
twenty years in the Navy, and was content with my current situation. I have had a
steady paycheck, stable job, and support for my family, so there was positive
justification for my complacency. Life has strange ways of making waves, and
even though we may not like it we need to accept the change or be left behind to
wither away. When we are accustomed to having our cheese, we must be careful not
to feel entitled or victimized as Hem did. When I first sensed I might not stay in
the Navy, it was an uneasy feeling. Routine and comfort have provided me with a
security blanket over responsibility and change. I know nothing of the civilian
world and figured I could put it off for many more years, but have come to the
realization I need to prepare myself now. Thankfully, I completed my Bachelor s

The Pros And Cons Of Immigration Laws
Immigration is a hot button topic today and so many people have different opinions
about it, but who oversees its laws? Our government is split into three main branches,
Legislative, Executive and Judicial. Every branch contributes in a different way to
have a law in action. The Legislative branch, which contributes to the first step of
making any law, consists of the house of representatives and the senate, which
together form the United StatesCongress which have the supreme authority to enact
legislation, the privilege to confirm or reject many presidential appointments, and
massive investigative powers ( The Legislative Branch , 2017). The Executive branch,
contributes to enforcing the laws and it mainly involves the President of the United
States, who also acts as head of state and commander in chief of the armed forces.
The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by
Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the
Cabinet ( The Executive Branch , 2017). The Judicial branch, puts the final touches
on the law and polishes it. It consists of the United States Supreme Court and lower
federal courts. The Supreme Court s primary function is to hear cases that challenge
the constitutionality of legislation or require interpretation of that legislation ( The
Judicial Branch , 2017). Immigration laws are made within the Legislative branch,
carried out by the Executive branch, and evaluated by the Judicial
Self Awareness And Self-Knowledge In Relationships
Self awareness and self knowledge in relationships What self knowledge? It can
not be bought at the price of effort or practice. Self knowledge happens by
observing yourself in your relationship with your classmates, your teachers and all
those around you; it happens when you observe the ways of the other, his gestures,
his way of dressing, talking, contempt or flattery, and your reaction; it happens
when you observe everything that is happening in you and around you and you
see as clearly as you see your face in the mirror. When you look in the mirror, you
see yourself as you are, is not it? You may wish to have another head having
another form, with a little more hair, a less ugly face, but the facts are there,
clearly reflected by the mirror, and you can not sweep them and say, That I am
beautiful! If you can look in the mirror of relationship exactly as you do in an
ordinary mirror, then self knowledge is endless. It s like walking into an
unfathomable ocean without shores. Now we want mostly to an end, we want to be
able to say, I have come to the knowledge of me and I m happy. But things are not
happening as well. If you can look without condemning what you see without
comparing yourself to others, without wishing to be more beautiful or more virtuous,
if you can just watch what you are and continue on your way, you will discover that
it is possible to go infinitely far. So the journey is endless and there is the mystery,
the beauty of the thing. What is
The New And Older Generations Of The United Ages Of 18
And...
Assimilation As the American economy continues to incorporate the younger
generation into the working class, steps must be taken to maximize employee
potential. The impact of workers between the ages of 18 and 32, Generation Y or
Millennials, is unquestionably an organizational concern for many employers.
According to a 2013 Ernst Young survey, 87% of Millennials have moved into
managementpositions in the last five years. With that level of upward mobility,
issues and conflicts are certain to arise due to the vastly different workplace ethics,
management styles, etc. held by the new and older generations. For a company to be
an innovative competitor in the marketplace, it is important for its employees to be
able to work productively while accommodating generational differences. The 2013
Ernst Young survey also found that more than 69% of respondents said their
company had made an effort to alleviate the challenges that arise with a generational
blend. Employee cooperation is an important goal for these companies because it is
vital for them to thrive in the rapidly evolving workplace. Without cooperation
between the distinct generational groups, management problems will certainly arise.
Leaders should attempt to mitigate these problems by allowing employees to work in
a style that suits their particular needs. While certain standards must be in place to
maintain orderly operations, flexibility must be demonstrated so that employees
remain loyal to the firm. Favoring
Candida Infection
Normally, a number of different kinds of Candida species are present in the body, but
they don t cause any harm. However, whenever the body experiences stress or the
immune system is compromised, the fungus can proliferate excessively and invade
the bloodstream, which can lead to a systemic Candida infection. This results in the
many toxic effects of this fungus.
Here we describe some common causes of Candida overgrowth:
Antibiotics: Antibiotics are responsible for killing off the harmful bacteria in the body,
but, in the process of doing so, they also kill off the healthy bacteria which decreases
the number of good bacteria in the gut, deregulating the amount of Candida which
will then begin to multiply. Due to this gut imbalance, Candida

Argentina is one of the largest countries in the world. It is sitting at the eighth

The project s purpose is to disseminate computer based instructional modules for
browser access to medical, dental and provider catalog, with eased access to their tele

months of change entry level employees will provided weekly staff meetings to

ensure shared outcome is produced. Similarly, this writer would appoint members
within each department. The goal of this assignment would be to serve as an
education resource to lateral employees as change is implemented. Members would

Employees will be selected based on their individual willingness to learn, take
leadership and are considered exemplary staffs not based on calendar years with the
organization but, the quality of their work.

Expulation In The Guinea Pigs
Being in control within situations is good, but what about being invasive with that
control? What happens? This topic was explored throughout a novel called The
Guinea Pigs, by LudvГk VaculГk. VaculГk was a notable Czechoslovakian author in
the mid 20th century, while the novel takes place in Prague around 1973. The
experiments the narrator forced on the guinea pigs, paralleled the governments
mistreatment of its banker s each one became more invasive and more controlling. In
the novel The Guinea Pigs, the experiments done on the guinea pigs become more
invasive and controlling by the narrator throughout the book, just as the government
agenda becomes more invasive and controlling towards the banks and the narrator.
One of the first examples of an invasive and controlling experiment is when the
narrator decided to put a guinea pig onto a moving record player at varying speeds.
I carried him over to the phonograph and wondered what speed I should choose for
him (VaculГk 118). This quote shows the narrator isn t considering the possible
injuries for the guinea pig, when deciding to do this experiment which suggests that
one of the only things the narrator is internally thinking is how he can rule over the
guinea pig. The usage of the words, carry and I and him , highlights the hierarchy
between the narrator and the guinea pig very apparent. The narrator is a person, while
the guinea pig is just a household pet. The narrator thinks that the hierarchy between

Artificial Intelligence ( Ai )
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is portrayed in many science fiction films such as I,
robot, The Terminator, Ex Machina, etc., or novels as the future that holds evil in
our society. Engineers all over the world are currently developing and making AI a
reality. I know that my major is involved with the project intending to bring AI into
reality which is interesting, but it still has me wondering if this is a good idea. I
imagine AI as the future such that we will have them at school, in our house and
even our workplace. It is a possibility that AI will be used to help students and
professors by solving critical equations faster than ever or helping them out in the
subjects they are struggling with. They can help clean around the house and
neighborhood, implement future ideas to companies, and even join the police force
to stop crime. They do not necessarily need arms, legs, or eyes to commit such
actions. As a Computer Engineer, I believe that AI will have the capability to protect
and serve us, but if they are given the freedom to think and act, then they can also
harm us. I assume the engineers working with AI, will program them to restrict
actions that can harm this society and inspect them weekly to accomplish this
restriction. We should keep an open mind towards any consequences and benefits AI
may bring to this world. I can see drones roaming around freely while having the task
to protect us, android devices advising and having a normal conversation with a
person, and
A Brief Note On Collaboration Within The Health
Profession
Results The tables that you see in this section explain the results that we found
pertaining to interprofessional collaboration within the health profession. Table 1
provides a focus on teamwork among healthcare workers. As you can see the n
values are similar in size (with the exception of the Heuer, Albert J et al., (2010)
article) they are relatively smaller groups. All the populations include medical staff
whether it is students, nurses, or physicians. The article by Shrader stated that Team
training, including the use of simulations, for licensed healthcare professionals has
been associated with improvements in patient outcomes and a decrease in adverse
events. . Therefore, they trained their students using human patient simulators.
Finally, the most important thing to look at is that this table is saying is that all the
outcomes were positive when using teamwork. Moving onto the next study, the
article written by Heuer, Albert J et al (2010). This particular study involves a study
taken by 116 medical students. They were each scored on twelve items broken down
into three categories: process, outcomes, and the overall score. Under the category
process they were evaluated on: presenters were well prepared, content was presented
clearly, participants feedback encouraged, sessions were an appropriate duration, and
the handouts will be a valuable resource. Under the category outcomes: video helped

Examples Of Josephus Problem
The next base the essay will explore is base 3 also known as ternary, this is the base
that was used in the original Josephus problem. By exploring this base and a few
more bases, I will find a pattern and derive an equation to solve Josephus problem
with any number of people in any number base.
Josephus problem in base 3 is when each person kills the person who sits two seats
away from him and the following diagram will demonstrate how it happens, the
numbers on the inside show the order of the people that are gone which will make it
easier to follow.

Applying the equation to Josephus problem, to find we have to find as . We know
how to solve as there are only 2 people and starts meaning he has to skip and
therefore dies first and wins. Now we know that , we can see from the table above
the answer is correct however we have to do it once more to find .
We can always consider position and we have to repeat the equation until getting to
the required number. This solution can be very frustrating as you must do the same
thing over and over, however it can be programmed very easily and save a lot of time.
This method is the third and the last method to solve the Josephus problem, it is the
most useful method as it works for all bases however it is the most complicated one.
In order to compare between this method and the other two methods, we first have to

Let s Not Put A Cap On It
One of the most debatable topics in Major League Baseball (MLB) is whether a
salary cap should be implemented for each team in the league. A salary cap is an
agreement between teams that places a limit on the amount of money that can be
spent on player salaries (Britana). Of the three American major professional sports,
football, baseball, and basketball, Major League Baseballis the only one that does not
have a salary cap. There is more competitiveness with baseball than any other sport.
As Demause states, Depending on whom you ask, a salary cap would save the
game, destroy the players union, provide hope for small market fans, pervert the free
market, or create a tangle or red tape that would turn every trade deadline into a...

The available resources of the teams would first have to go to salaries; if there is
any excess cash, then they could recruit, build a new stadium, or develop new
talent. Many times there would not be any available cash left after meeting the
salary floor, so these essential expenses of baseball would not be met. Talent
evaluation and development is much different in baseball than in other sports.
Baseball has many more available athletics to choose from than professional
football and basketball. The NFL has seven rounds in its draft for rookie players;
the NBA only has two. These drafts are dwarfs in comparison to the Major League
Draft which consists of fifty rounds. These fifty rounds do not even consider the
thirty percent of major league baseball players who are from outside of the United
States and Canada (Silver xliv). These players are signed as free agents with the
overwhelming majority coming from Latin America. Each major league team
usually has six minor league teams where they develop talent which is referred to
as farm teams. What this means is there a larger talent pool in baseball from which
to select players to help you win games. Baseball more than any sport, is heavily
dependent on player statistics. Advanced analytical methods called sabermetrics
throws away traditional baseball such as the batting average to a more effective way
to assess players and often used to measure future productivity (Kendrick). If a

Economic Characteristics Of The Aztec And Inca Empires
In the 1400 s through the 1500 s there were the Aztec and Inca empires, both were
empires that started out as marginalized peoples who conquered and absorbed other
cultures. Aztec and Inca Empires were based on managing resources, goods, and
people in an economy centered on intensive agriculture including having their
currency systems. The economic characteristics of the Aztecand Incaempires were
similar in that they both changed their environment to improve their agricultural
system and they both focused on internal trade networks, however they differed in the
way they taxed their people. The Aztecs were a triple alliance; three city states that
banded together for the greater good. The joined civilizationswere Mexico
Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan. The Incas were located around modern day
Peru, and are known as the largest empire in the pre Columbian America.
The economic characteristics of the government differed from how they collected
revenue. So, the Inca government had a totalitarian complex government whether as
Aztecs had a decentralized government that focused on expansion. In document 4,
it explains how the Aztecs required conquered lands to pay a tribute. Aztecs would
pay in goods and services rather than currency. From the source document 5 Pedro
de Cieza de LГ©on describes the Inca rule, that there was a king or emperor, as well
as representatives for each province. As for the aztecs as mentioning that they formed
a triple alliance, they did not end up
The Problems Of Year-Round Schooling
Alan Dessoff reports that year round schooling may or may not be on track. One
problem that a lot of schools are having is overcrowding. More than 2 million
students, in 3,000 schools, in 47 states were attending year round school in 2006
2007. The numbers are still accurate today. This is a problem because there is not
enough room for that many students year round. Year round schooling is also costing
schools a lot more money than the regular 180 day calendar. Bus fare, lunches, and
staff attendance is costing schools a lot of money that most schools cannot afford.
Year round schooling also may affect high schoolchildren more than it affects
elementary and junior high students because students in grades 9 12 are looking for
summer jobs. One

Abstract
Nausea is a common issue for patients who present in the prehospital environment.
Currently in New Zealand paramedics are only able to Ondansetron, which is the
only antiemetic that medical directors of both of New Zealand ambulance services
have approved. Questions remain about the suitability of Ondansetron in the
prehospital field due to the range of causes of nausea and vomiting. Antiemetic use
international is varied however most tend to have at least two or more antiemetics,
with Ondansetron being the common antiemetic used. For this paper the author aims
to look at the different types of antiemetics available and see what type or types of
antiemetic s are the best suited for the prehospital environment ?, and make a
recommendation about what antiemetics should be introduced into paramedic
practise in New Zealand.

Critical Argument Analysis
In the process of researching the selected topic regarding Fear there were many
angles to consider in how in depth the writers got into their topic. There were many
questions to ask in how well the authors of the writings made their claims concerning
the topic. As each author has his or her own way of reaching the audience it would
be only right that his or her writingprocess reflect this. Each author has their own
brand of emotion and logic he or she uses to reach their audiences, which in turn can
affect each authors writing. Each author brings to the table a unique style of writing,

Essay On Cancer As A Monster In David Garland s
Imitation
Penetrable Boundaries and Mutations: Cancer as a Monster in David Garland s
Annihilation David Garland s Annihilation (2018) displays various forms of abjection
through the film s representation of biological mutations that take over the physical
and psychological components of the human body. The film s representation of a
pathogenic alien species and its ability to mutate cells is not unlike John Carpenter s
The Thing, as both films form allegories for the spread of a disease throughout
society. In Annihilation this disease takes the form of a malignant, dome shaped
region called the Shimmer, which acts like a cancerous tumor on Earth, threatening to
mutate the biological structures and components that form humanity. In my essay, I
will utilize Julia Kristeva s excerpt, Approaching Abjection, and Edward Guerrero s
AIDS as Monster in Science Fictionand Horror Cinema, as the frameworks in which
to explore Annihilation and discuss how the film represents the relevant and eminent
threat of cancer within today s society. In addressing the forms of abjection
throughout the film, I will argue for the inability to separate the film s allegory for
cancer as an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Guerrero continues to highlight the main driving fear throughout the film as the

Christian Themes In The Two Towers
The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien is not often thought of as a Christian book. It is
either viewed as a revolutionary fantasy book or an adventure book; rarely do
people think of the book as having Christian roots. During his life, Tolkien was a
devout Christian, so these morals and themes can be seen throughout his writing. By
telling of the journey of an average fellowship, Tolkien tells a vast story with life
lessons along the way. Rather than focusing on the developments of a single
character, Tolkien develops several characters throughout the book, so comparisons
among these characters offer valuable insight to human behavior. My initial thoughts
after reading The Two Towers are of the depth of the world Tolkien creates. I have

After reading The Two Towers while looking for Christian themes and morals in it,
I feel as though I have gained more from the book. One thing that stood out to me
was the split personality of Gollum. He acts like he is Smeagol, his former self
before being corrupted by the ring, to gain the trust of Frodo and Sam, and he
eventually leads the two into a trap and abandons them. Some parallels can be
drawn from Gollum to the devil. We are tempted to trust in what he has to say
because it seems like he wants what is best for us, but in the end, he does not have
our best interest in mind. In the case of Gollum, he is only looking to get the ring
back. Another part that stood out to me was the ring itself. Taken from the Dark
Lord, Sauron, it offers the wearer unlimited power. This lures many to wear it,
thinking they will be all powerful. However, as seen with Gollum, prolonged wear
of the ring leads to tremendous self decay, physically and mentally. Even Bilbo, the
protagonist of The Hobbit, experiences some personality changes due to the ring. The
ring stands for the sin in the world. Many types of sin lure people constantly
throughout life: coveting, hating, and lying are some of these. If one succumbs to
sin, one will experience spiritual changes right away, then mental changes, then
possibly physical changes.

prevailed during the period of the Partition, and the novelis an important addition to
the whole. Manohar Malgonkar concentrates on the tumultuous years of the phase of

At the same time, he describes the impact of the British rule on every aspect of

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ranks methods of handling food waste in
the diagram below:
Composting is listed as the second least preferred method of reducing the
environmental impact of food waste. Nonetheless, it will be explored in this portion
of the investigation.
Background Information
All organic material such as orange and banana peels and apple cores that come from
Stuart s cafeteria will eventually decompose, but composting is a human monitored
activity that speeds up the process of decomposition. It involves combining green ,
nitrogen rich materials, such as fruit and vegetable scraps, with brown , carbon rich

The parts , or inputs, required to compost are a container or designated area (to be
discussed later), green material, brown material, human monitoring, and time. When
these parts are combined to create an entirety , they relate in such a way that the
system functions to create a soil like substance.
Environmental Benefits
The most practical use of compost is to combine it with actual soil and use it as a
plant growth medium. Composting is immersed by environmental benefits, whether
the benefits are applicable during the composting process or applicable when the
compost is used to support plant growth.
While greens and browns transform into compost, microorganism break down
molecules. These molecules provide food for larger organisms, such as fungi and
worms. In turn, these organisms attract even larger predators, such as birds. Compost
piles create a miniature ecosystem packed with thriving organisms of numerous types
and sizes.
The crumb like structure of compost allows it to store or release air and water
depending on the plant s needs. Also, the fact that compost provides air and water
through plants roots reduces the need for plants to obtain air and water from the
atmosphere. Furthermore, compost s ability to store over 60% of its own mass in
water reduces the need for plants to be watered and improves their chances of
surviving through droughts.

Pros And Cons Of Banning The Veil
conclude that banning the veil isn t as just about assuaging the suffering of the
Muslim woman as much as it is about protecting French republican notions of
sexuality, notions considered fundamental and foundational against the disturbing
influence of Islam (Scott pp. 123). Women choosing to wear a Burqa however may
be doing so as a symbol of demanding control over their bodies and rejecting the
sexuality and objectification of the republic culture. What s appalling is the
assumption that a veiled woman means submission and oppression. Based on their
own perceptions of what is empowering and what is suffering, proponents of the
ban have been speaking on behalf of the Muslim woman: As a non muslim, I would
never wear a burqa and therefore you should not wear a burqa . By foisting their
own perceptions of what is right and wrong, they are stigmatizing Muslim women and
imposing restrictions on their freedom of choice. A veil could... Show more content

France who choose to wear the veil have immigrants roots. They are part of the
wave of immigrants into France from its former colonies of Algeria, Tunisia, and
Morocco. During the French colonization of the Maghreb, Muslims were depicted
as inferior people, incapable of self government. Expressions of bias against
Muslims stem from a deep seated psychological preoccupation with the other . As
Professor Bate explained, a process that anthropologists have come to call

the French psyche, the immigrants are defined by what the French are not. The ban

An Reflection On The Impression Formation
INTRODUCTION:
Impression is a long lasting image of a person created in our minds which can last
long for years. There are a lot of research done by Solomon Asch (1946), Bruner
Taiguri (1954), Rosenberg, Nelson Vivekanathan (1968) to understand Impression
Formation. According to Solomon Asch (1946) at a glance of any personan
impression of his personality can instantly form. Even by looking or talking with
that person a whole story about his entire character can be told. These impressions
can be formed quickly and easily which can enhance or distress our opinion on a
person. Our ongoing observations can t be change but we can neglect it. Even it is
known that this process is not perfect but sometimes it can be extremely sensitive. ...

work effectively. It even helps in creating optimistic first impression of a person but
it also cannot be true always. For example, it s not always necessary that good first
impression of a student (intelligent) on the first day of school would be same, it can
vary or change according to his performance in the class.
The question is why there is always different character in a person. And even when
they have same character what make them different from each other. According to
Solomon Asch (1946) every individual have different characteristics. For example, a
person can have different characteristics like he/she is intelligent, energetic, have
great sense of humor, is very fast in his work, courageous, punctual and humble with
his fellows. This can create an impression of that person in our mind. A combination
of a person character make an impression of him/her on others. But the main question
asked by Solomon Asch (1946) We ask: How do the several characteristics function
together to produce an impression of one person? What principles regulate this
process?
According to Asch (1946) the variety and way to which one goes elsewhere form the
first information given by the trait is variable but some traits have much more

The Crisis Of Identity By William Faulkner
The Crisis of Identity Arguably one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century,
William Faulkner was plagued with a crisis of identity from a young age.
Inadequate in nearly every aspect of his life, Faulkner projected his personal
shortcomings onto many of his characters, such as with Miss Emily Grierson in A
Rose for Emilyand Wash Jones in Wash. However, instead of victimizing these
characters within his works, Faulkner chooses to rely almost exclusively on the
lowborn or outcasts, such as Wash and Miss Emily, as examples of heroism.
Unconventional characters like Wash Jones and Emily Grierson pose a test for
Faulkner s readers. If the reader judges these characters with a conventional eye,
seeing one other as a murderous... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This isolation prevented Miss Emily from marrying at a suitable age, therefore
leaving her ineligible after her father s death. In Wash, Faulkner depicts Wash
Jones as being the very bottom of society, an image that is strengthened by the foil
of Thomas Sutpen. Unlike Sutpen, a self made man who has risen to the top of
society, Wash Jones is the lowest of the low. Wash s exceptionally degraded status
at the bottom of the social heap makes it so that even a Negro woman can block his
entrance to Sutpen s kitchen: Stop right dar, white man. Stop right whar you is. You
ain t never crossed dese steps whilst Cunnel (Sutpen) here, and you ain t ghy do hit
now (131). Wash Jones s monumental identity issues are further exemplified through
his cowardliness. When Colonel Sutpen goes off to fight for the Confederacy, Wash
does not go; he instead tells anyone he can that he is looking after Sutpen s
plantation and slaves. However, this was a lie, as most of them... to whom he told it,
knew, though there were some who believed that [Wash] really believed it, though
even these believed that he had better sense than to put it to the test with Mrs. Sutpen
or the Sutpen slaves (130). Like Faulkner, both Miss Emily and Wash Jones suffer
from significant identity issues; however it is these issues that give them the potential
to be the atypical heroes that Faulkner crafts. Similar to
Designing A Website For Your Own Website
In these days, many people need a web site to do almost everything. Every age
group is using it in different ways. Teenagers use for schoolwork, gaming, social
media, online shopping or other variables. Adults definitely use a website for
business and many other purposes. In order to design a website, the designer
should make sure that it s easy to use for every age group and can find what they
need within a few clicks. This will give you some guideline of how to design your
own websiteby following these steps.
There are several things to consider before beginning to design your website. If you
are designing a website for companies you should understand company s
expectations such as target market, goal, and company information. In order to
make a website, you need to learn some web coding. Every user will expect to find
the information that they need from your website. Make sure that they are able to
find as quickly and easily as possible.
Before you start, you have to find a domain name hosting. A domain name is the
name you want to give your website, such as www.home.com. To make your domain
name work you have to pay registration fees, so you have the right to use that name.
A web hosting is the company that has many computers connected to the Internet.

Hitler s Influence On The World War II
In the year 1940, many Germans stood in a square, saluting and chanting Hitler s
name. World War II has begun and many Germans hope for improvements in the
economy. Their leader is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler, dictator of Germany in World
War II, was a powerful speaker who caused over 5 million deaths in concentration
camps. Though Hitler s impact can be felt in modern times, the roots of his atrocious
behavior began in childhood more specifically high school.
Years before Adolf Hitlerwas born, Hitler s great grandfather, Johann Georg
Hiedler, was a wandering miller. Before his second marriage he had an illegitimate
son named Alois Hitler s father. Since Alois was illegitimate, he kept his mother s
last name, Schicklgruber. In 1847 Hiedler vanished from the family and came back
thirty years later to change Alois s last name to Hitler. Currently, many historians
postulate if Hitler s great grandfather did not change Alois s last name to Hitler,
Adolf may not have created the impact he had on humanity (Shirer 6 7).
Alois had three marriages; his first wife was Anna Glasl Hoerer. Unfortunately, it
was not a happy marriage, and after sixteen years, he left. Sadly, his wife died three
years later. A month after his wife died, Alois Hitler married a cook named
Franziska Matzelsberger, through which he had a son, Alois and a daughter, Angela.
Franziska died within a year from tuberculosis and Alois Hitler moved on. (Shirer 8 9)
After Alois Hitler married, his third wife,
Compare And Contrast Synoptic Gospels
Mark is the best storyteller of the synoptic gospels. The synoptic gospels, Mark,
Matthew, and Luke in the new testament of the Bible are similar stories, sequence,
and wording. The book of Matthew and Luke displays a viewpoint of the stories as
told in the book of Mark. The three synoptic gospels stand in contrast to the book of
John whose content is distinct. The role of miracles plays a critical role in the New
Testament of the Bible in religious traditions in Christianity. The synoptic gospels
reflects unique differences regarding miracles of healing as told in Mark in contrast
to Matthew and Luke. I plan to demonstrate the differences in two synoptic gospels
by comparing and contrasting them to two miracles of healing in the book of Mark.
The two miracles I will explore will include healing a woman of hemorrhages and a
man with leprosy. The first miracle I will explore will be healing in the gospel of
Mark. In Mark, Chapter 5, verses 25 34, he quotes, Now there was a woman who
had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years. She had endured much
under many physicians, and had spent all that she had; and she was no better, but
rather grew worse. She had heard about Jesus, and came up behind him in the
crowd and touched his cloak, for she said, If I but touch his clothes, I will be made
well Immediately her hemorrhages stopped, and she felt in her body that she was
healed of her disease. Immediately aware that power had gone forth from him, Jesus
turned about in
Workplace Violence Level
There are several levels of workplace violence. Level one is being disrespectful to
other co workers, not cooperating, verbally abusing others, or simply intimidating
and manipulating them. For level of workplace violence, an employees should report
this, and seek help responding to the situation. If the person is the supervisor, you
report it to upper management and appropriate response action should take place. As
upper management you should meet privately with the accused individual, and ask
the employee for their side of the story. Reiterate what is acceptable behavior within
the company, and correct the issues they may have. (U.S. Department of Labor,
2016). The second level will be escalation. The employee may begin to argue with
customers,
The Gogol Grotesque Characters
Grotesque Characters When talking about the grotesque uncertainty and confusion is
often common because when someone or something is grotesque it is out of the
norm we don t usually see or hear about it. In Gogol s The Nose the grotesque is
present throughout the whole story and especially with the two main characters Ivan
Yakovlevich and Collegiate Assessor Kovalyov. A reader of this story will notice the
similarities and the differences that these two characters share. This response to The
Nosewill compare and contrast the two main characters and show how they are
grotesque. The title of this story alone should tell the reader that this is most likely
about a nose or something pertaining to that particular body part which is different.
The title alone can make the reader ask questions before they even start to read the
story. As one may read and find out that the story is about a nose and how Collegiate
Assessor Kovalyov (also referred to as major) loses his nose. As Ivan Yakovlevich is
sitting down to eat a roll he feels something in the roll. He pokes two fingers in and
pulled out a nose! (Gogol 113). Ivan freaks out as any normal person would do and
decides to get rid of the evidence and drops it off a bridge. The major on the other
hand wakes up one morning to find he has lost his nose and has no idea where it is.
He later finds his nose acting as a person who has a rank that is three higher than
his. The major even tries to talk his own nose and holds a
Stereotypes In The Unforgiven By Prince Maxon
All royalty seem the same, don t they? They are all civilized, all well mannered,
and most of all, they are all boring, all except for those in the book, The One . In
the book, the characters are anything but civilized and well behaved. The epitome
of bad behavior would be America, the wild ginger who will do anything she deems
morally right, even if it could get her kicked out of the palace. The prince, Maxon,
on the other hand, is far too obedient and struggles throughout the book with whom
he should choose to be his bride; this struggle causes further strife not only between
him and America, but also between him and his father, King Clarkson. So, despite
stereotypes, the princess, the prince, and the king all have a personality of their...

Prince Maxon can also relate problems in his life to those of certain songs. One
song that is particularly similar to Maxon s struggles is called, The Unforgiven, by
Metallica. The song is generally about a parent disparaging their child and ruling
over them. The song goes, The young boy learns their rules. With time, the child
draws in, this whipping boy done wrong, deprived of all his thoughts, the young
man struggles on and on (Metallica, 1991). These lyrics fit very well to the book
because Maxon s father, the king, is bellicose and tends to rule over Maxon s
every move. Not only that, but when Maxon fails to do something precisely to the
king s wishes he is wiped, just like the boy in the song. In the book, more problems
are caused for Maxon when America finds out about his father wiping him.
America states, Undressing Maxon hadn t been a romantic moment, but I couldn t
tell them I d been tending to wounds on his back specifically delivered by his father
(Cass, 21). Despite the cruel fact that what his father is doing is wrong, Maxon
cannot congregate enough courage to stand up to him. It even boils down to the
decisions he makes: I will not have anyone else telling me who I can and cannot
marry! This is my life you re playing games with! (Cass, 43). This statement proves
just how fed up Maxon is of his fathers un ending edicts and everybody s
astronomical expectations. In the song, it also tells of the boy being too scared to
stand up to his parents: What I ve felt, what I ve known, never shined through what I
ve shown (Metallica, 1991). This meaning that he hides what he feels; because of
fear of his father, the king, his emotions and wants never truly make it to the
Companies Don t Understand China, Says Kpmg
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This essay will mainly talk about an article taken from The Australian titled,
Companies don t understand China, says KPMG . The main challenge faced by
Australia in doing business with China is the cultural barrier, particularly the
language difference. Additionally, Australia also has limited experience with and
information on Chinese business customs, in comparison with other countries.
Besides analysing the issues highlighted in the article, factors that also led to these
issues will also be discussed. This essay will link some relevant theories learned from
International Management subjects, such as Cross Cultural Communications,
Managing across Culture, and Conflicts of Cross Cultural Communications. Strategies
such as learning Chinese language and culture, joining the KPMG China Confidence
program and increasing awareness of the ways China prefers to conduct business
will also be discussed. In the last section of this essay, conclusion will be given.
China has one of world s largest populations and, in the last few decades, the world s
fastest economic growth. Large numbers of other major Western countries compete to
invest and collaborate with China. However, due to the cultural differences and
language barriers between Eastern and Western countries, issues often arise and can
lead to conflicts if cautionary steps are not taken. This essay will discuss some
issues, causing factors, theories and strategies related to an article taken from

Later renamed as British Petroleum, the company s name was shortened to BP to
reflect a continuing global expansion. Over the years, BP made many important
discoveries, including fields in the North Sea near Scotland and at Prudhoe Bayin
Alaska.
BP LogoAmoco
Amoco began its life as a part of John D. Rockefeller s powerful Standard Oil Trust.
Incorporated in 1889 as the Standard Oil Company (Indiana), the company s first
challenge was to build a refinery in Whiting, Indiana, specially designed to handle
high sulphur crude oil from a field near Lima, Ohio.
In 1912, a year after dissolution of the Rockefeller Trust, company scientist William
Burton and his colleague, Robert Humphreys, received a patent for the thermal
cracking process that doubled the yield of gasoline from a barrel of crude oil, while
also boosting its octane rating. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Standard Oil of
Indiana remained the company s name until April of 1985 when it became Amoco,
reflecting a growing international presence.
Arco
The oldest of the four companies, ARCO was founded in Philadelphia in 1866 as
the Atlantic Petroleum Storage Company. At the time, Atlantic s business was
simply to store and ship crude and refined oils. In 1870 the company built a refinery
that could process 3,000 barrels a day, a record for that time. Only four
Timothy Mcgrew Contradictions
In the first part of Dr. Timothy McGrew s discussion on the dependability of Acts
and Luke as an author, McGrew shows and proceeds to interact with the opposing
view held by Dr. Bart Ehrman. McGrew respectfully goes through each of Ehrman s
negative and misguided beliefs on the contradictions and errors Erhman believes there
to be in the book of Acts. Investigating the first apparent contradiction Acts 1:12 vs
Luke 24:50, Ehrman holds that Luke unreliably claims Jesusas ascending into heaven
on the same day that he rose from the dead and met with the disciples. However, he
asserts the opposite is stated in Acts and therefore portraying a different picture
where the resurrection, ascension, and the meeting of the disciples did not all occur
on the same day. McGrew reassesses each chapter and displays to the audience the
literal text, which does not show any signs of opposition when placed in regards to
each other. Merely, the text displays a writing style known as telescoping in which
events are misperceived as being in a time either more distant or more recent than the
reality. Thus being the case with the aforementioned contradiction where Jesus seems
to either relax in his activities or overload everything into a singular day.... Show

Each scripture Erhman boldly presents as an endeavour to establish his viewpoint
has most often shown to be grotesquely misinterpreted or seemingly under analyzed.
Such as seen in the instance of Acts 9:7 vs 22:9 where, when viewed in various Bible
versions, any likely contradictions of the verses wither away. The error more so
found in Erhman s failure to look at different translations before making his
assumption. McGrew, therefore, asserts that Bart Erhman can hold no merit to his
oppositions of Luke as an inaccurate and unreliable
Contracts Circumstance Argument

To the question on whether or not Alex s signature could be considered legally
contractible, I would go with no. To begin with Alex is a minor, and does not have
the legal authority to sign into a contract. According to (Goldman and Sigismond,
2013), contracts usually arises when there is an obliging agreement between persons
involved that becomes unequivocally accepted by parties who are of required
capacity by law . Furthermore children under the age of eighteen lack the capacity to
enter into contractual relationships. Thus, making Alex s signature invalid and cannot
be legally enforced. Conversely, some contracts such as service benefit contracts,...

The charity clearly has the ability and the right to make Claire s pledge binding
since charitable pledges are usually enforceable. Namely, for a legal binding
contract to arise there must be an agreement between the contracting parties, which
is between the donor and the charity (Gary, 2010). Agreements that are entered into
by parties give rise to two essential elements of a contract that include; the offer that
resulted when the donor makes a promise to contribute some amount. In the
sample case, Claire made an offer when she made a phone call and pledged $1000
to save the dogs . Acceptance is the subsequent element that develops when parties
enter into an agreement. For this reason, acceptance was brought about by the
charity accepting Claire pledge through the phone call. Certainly the charity may
chose not to enforce the pledge Claire made to show good faith in their charity. All
in all, for a binding contract to be valid there must be a consideration that is
typically a promise that acts as a price for the promise made by the contracting
parties (Gary, 2010). The consideration in the charity pledge case is a picture of the
animal that a donor has helped and also a t shirt. These items are the price for the
pledge made by Claire of

Because of the continuous growth in technology, companies have been able to find ways to further their success by offering competitive products and service. One company, in particular, that has taken full advantage of this feature is Sony. Of course, just acknowledging a corporate mission statement on a piece of paper will not be enough in itself to alter the corporate culture, but there are examples of mission statements that have had a significant impact on corporate culture, depending on the approach of the company. We will look at two of the more prominent Japanese companies that have been struggling through the economic hardships of the past decade. When the company was founded in 1946, Mr. Ibuka created the Founding Perspectus, a document outlining the mission and values that he wanted his company to adopt. The first section was the Purpose of Incorporation , which was broken down into the following eight points: a.To establish of an ideal factory that stresses a spirit of freedom and open mindedness, and where engineers with sincere motivation can exercise their technological skills to the highest level; b.To reconstruct Japan and to elevate the nation s culture through dynamic technological and manufacturing activities; c.To promptly apply highly advanced technologies which were developed in various sectors during the war to common households; d.To rapidly commercialize superior technological findings in universities and research institutions that are
  • 3. Censorship And Censorship Of Music Throughout the years, music has evolved and transformed in many ways. However, there are restrictions in today s music, otherwise known as, censorships. A crisis has emerged concerning the issue of censorship. This argument consists of two possible stances: one, supporting the continuation of censorship, and two, eliminating the status quo of censorships in the music industry. There have been countless debates and arguments regarding the issues of censorshipever since the U.S. Congress passed the Radio Act in 1927 (The History). The time has arrived for censorship to be brought to an end. The government should release their grip on the censorship of music for the following reasons: it obstructs the public s freedom of choice, it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can t seem. To find myself again. My walls are closing in. (Linkin Park, Crawling ). These lyrics just show to prove how much emotion was displayed into the song itself. With that said, censorship sabotages an artist s intent to express themselves. Not only does it limit one s ability to put forth one s feelings into his or her songs, but it also affects the artist s creativity. Second of all, music should not be censored because it reduces an artist s capability to be creative. A musician uses certain lyrics for a reason. Every lyric has some sort of meaning. Whether it be to rhyme with a subsequent phrase, or going with the flow. Regardless of its purpose, it still has value. However, creativity is not only limited to the lyrics in a song. Creativity can also be express through rhythm and tone. The downside, one can only have so much creativity than resides in the tone of a song. In the song, Never Take Away My Freedom it says, Can take everything I own. You can have and sing my song. You can never take away my freedom (David Guetta). This means that he could be stripped of everything that he owns. But his freedom can never be taken away by anyone. This holds true about music as well. Artists have the ability to create any kind of music they wish. Lyrics help surpass that limitation of creativity. An artist s lyrics cannot and should not be contained by the power of the government. It takes time and dedication to create music. Musicians carefully

Last Hundred Days Analysis After collecting many statistics on the battle of WW1 (Battle of Ypres, Battle of Somme, Battle of Vimy Ridge, Battle of Passchendaele, and Battle of Last Hundred Days) I came to the conclusion that the battle of Hundred Days had the greatest number of Canadian casualties overall. After looking through the statistics of the casualties among Canadian soldiers throughout the following battles I saw that Canadas Hundred Days Battle had a substantially greater amount of wounded and dead soldiers compared to the battles of Ypres, Somme, Vimy Ridge, and Passchendaele. Tayo wants to do anything he can to get rid of the bad dreams he is having so he knows he must complete the ceremony just to have a chance. Tayo is also told that if he doesn t complete the ceremony his dreams are going to be haunted. This is because the ceremony is meant to help people who have killed someone. • 14. Feminism Is An Interdisciplinary Idea Feminism is an interdisciplinary idea. In sociology, feminism broadens our ideas on gender and transforms it into a major field of study. George Ritzer, in Contemporary Sociological Theory and Its Classical Roots, breaks feminist theory down into four major varieties, gender differences, gender inequality, genderoppression, and structural oppression. He then explains the different forms of feminismseen in each variety. The first variety, gender difference, describes, explains, and traces the implications of how men and women are or are not the same in behavior and experience. Women s location in, and experience of, most situations is different from those of men in the situation. (Ritzer, 201) Cultural feminism is one of two theories Ritzer discusses under gender differences. This theory explores and celebrates the social value of women s distinctive ways of being. The core idea of theory is that a woman s way of being may be better for society; better than those of the androcentric culture. Cooperation, pacifism, and nonviolence in the settling of disputes, these virtues of women can be argued better for governing a society. Another form of feminist theory Ritzer places under the variety gender difference is feminist interactionist theory. In this theory ethnomethodology claims that institutional order, culture, and stratification are maintained by the ongoing activities of individuals in interaction. (Ritzer, 204)When this concept is applied to gender it creates the

Eventually, that cheese ran out and I enlisted in the Navy. For the past eight years I have enjoyed the everlasting cheese provided by the Navy, but since my time overseas I have sensed the cheese is running out. Just as Hem and Haw became complacent when they initially found their cheese, I was complacent with the Navy. I always figured I was going to retire with at least twenty years in the Navy, and was content with my current situation. I have had a steady paycheck, stable job, and support for my family, so there was positive justification for my complacency. • 19. The Pros And Cons Of Immigration Laws Immigration is a hot button topic today and so many people have different opinions about it, but who oversees its laws? Our government is split into three main branches, Legislative, Executive and Judicial. Every branch contributes in a different way to have a law in action. The Legislative branch, which contributes to the first step of making any law, consists of the house of representatives and the senate, which together form the United StatesCongress which have the supreme authority to enact legislation, the privilege to confirm or reject many presidential appointments, and massive investigative powers ( The Legislative Branch , 2017). The Executive branch, contributes to enforcing the laws and it mainly involves the President of the United States, who also acts as head of state and commander in chief of the armed forces. The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the Cabinet ( The Executive Branch , 2017). The Judicial branch, puts the final touches on the law and polishes it. It consists of the United States Supreme Court and lower federal courts. The Supreme Court s primary function is to hear cases that challenge the constitutionality of legislation or require interpretation of that legislation ( The Judicial Branch , 2017). Immigration laws are made within the Legislative branch, carried out by the Executive branch, and evaluated by the Judicial
  • 20. Self Awareness And Self-Knowledge In Relationships Self awareness and self knowledge in relationships What self knowledge? It can not be bought at the price of effort or practice. Self knowledge happens by observing yourself in your relationship with your classmates, your teachers and all those around you; it happens when you observe the ways of the other, his gestures, his way of dressing, talking, contempt or flattery, and your reaction; it happens when you observe everything that is happening in you and around you and you see as clearly as you see your face in the mirror. When you look in the mirror, you see yourself as you are, is not it? You may wish to have another head having another form, with a little more hair, a less ugly face, but the facts are there, clearly reflected by the mirror, and you can not sweep them and say, That I am beautiful! If you can look in the mirror of relationship exactly as you do in an ordinary mirror, then self knowledge is endless. It s like walking into an unfathomable ocean without shores. Now we want mostly to an end, we want to be able to say, I have come to the knowledge of me and I m happy. But things are not happening as well. If you can look without condemning what you see without comparing yourself to others, without wishing to be more beautiful or more virtuous, if you can just watch what you are and continue on your way, you will discover that it is possible to go infinitely far. So the journey is endless and there is the mystery, the beauty of the thing. What is

Assimilation As the American economy continues to incorporate the younger generation into the working class, steps must be taken to maximize employee potential. The impact of workers between the ages of 18 and 32, Generation Y or Millennials, is unquestionably an organizational concern for many employers. According to a 2013 Ernst Young survey, 87% of Millennials have moved into managementpositions in the last five years. With that level of upward mobility, issues and conflicts are certain to arise due to the vastly different workplace ethics, management styles, etc. held by the new and older generations. For a company to be an innovative competitor in the marketplace, it is important for its employees to be able to work productively while accommodating generational differences. The 2013 Ernst Young survey also found that more than 69% of respondents said their company had made an effort to alleviate the challenges that arise with a generational blend. Employee cooperation is an important goal for these companies because it is vital for them to thrive in the rapidly evolving workplace. Without cooperation between the distinct generational groups, management problems will certainly arise. Leaders should attempt to mitigate these problems by allowing employees to work in a style that suits their particular needs. While certain standards must be in place to maintain orderly operations, flexibility must be demonstrated so that employees remain loyal to the firm. Favoring

This topic was explored throughout a novel called The Guinea Pigs, by LudvГk VaculГk. VaculГk was a notable Czechoslovakian author in the mid 20th century, while the novel takes place in Prague around 1973. The experiments the narrator forced on the guinea pigs, paralleled the governments mistreatment of its banker s each one became more invasive and more controlling. In the novel The Guinea Pigs, the experiments done on the guinea pigs become more invasive and controlling by the narrator throughout the book, just as the government agenda becomes more invasive and controlling towards the banks and the narrator. One of the first examples of an invasive and controlling experiment is when the narrator decided to put a guinea pig onto a moving record player at varying speeds. I carried him over to the phonograph and wondered what speed I should choose for him (VaculГk 118). This quote shows the narrator isn t considering the possible injuries for the guinea pig, when deciding to do this experiment which suggests that one of the only things the narrator is internally thinking is how he can rule over the guinea pig. The usage of the words, carry and I and him , highlights the hierarchy between the narrator and the guinea pig very apparent. The narrator is a person, while the guinea pig is just a household pet. I imagine AI as the future such that we will have them at school, in our house and even our workplace. It is a possibility that AI will be used to help students and professors by solving critical equations faster than ever or helping them out in the subjects they are struggling with. They can help clean around the house and neighborhood, implement future ideas to companies, and even join the police force to stop crime. They do not necessarily need arms, legs, or eyes to commit such actions. As a Computer Engineer, I believe that AI will have the capability to protect and serve us, but if they are given the freedom to think and act, then they can also harm us. I assume the engineers working with AI, will program them to restrict actions that can harm this society and inspect them weekly to accomplish this restriction. We should keep an open mind towards any consequences and benefits AI may bring to this world. The available resources of the teams would first have to go to salaries; if there is any excess cash, then they could recruit, build a new stadium, or develop new talent. Many times there would not be any available cash left after meeting the salary floor, so these essential expenses of baseball would not be met. Talent evaluation and development is much different in baseball than in other sports. Baseball has many more available athletics to choose from than professional football and basketball. The NFL has seven rounds in its draft for rookie players; the NBA only has two. These drafts are dwarfs in comparison to the Major League Draft which consists of fifty rounds. These fifty rounds do not even consider the thirty percent of major league baseball players who are from outside of the United States and Canada (Silver xliv). These players are signed as free agents with the overwhelming majority coming from Latin America. Each major league team usually has six minor league teams where they develop talent which is referred to as farm teams. What this means is there a larger talent pool in baseball from which to select players to help you win games. Baseball more than any sport, is heavily dependent on player statistics. Advanced analytical methods called sabermetrics throws away traditional baseball such as the batting average to a more effective way to assess players and often used to measure future productivity (Kendrick). After reading The Two Towers while looking for Christian themes and morals in it, I feel as though I have gained more from the book. One thing that stood out to me was the split personality of Gollum. He acts like he is Smeagol, his former self before being corrupted by the ring, to gain the trust of Frodo and Sam, and he eventually leads the two into a trap and abandons them. Some parallels can be drawn from Gollum to the devil. We are tempted to trust in what he has to say because it seems like he wants what is best for us, but in the end, he does not have our best interest in mind. In the case of Gollum, he is only looking to get the ring back. Another part that stood out to me was the ring itself. Taken from the Dark Lord, Sauron, it offers the wearer unlimited power. This lures many to wear it, thinking they will be all powerful. However, as seen with Gollum, prolonged wear of the ring leads to tremendous self decay, physically and mentally. Even Bilbo, the protagonist of The Hobbit, experiences some personality changes due to the ring. The ring stands for the sin in the world. Many types of sin lure people constantly throughout life: coveting, hating, and lying are some of these. If one succumbs to sin, one will experience spiritual changes right away, then mental changes, then possibly physical changes.

Environmental Benefits The most practical use of compost is to combine it with actual soil and use it as a plant growth medium. Composting is immersed by environmental benefits, whether the benefits are applicable during the composting process or applicable when the compost is used to support plant growth. While greens and browns transform into compost, microorganism break down molecules. These molecules provide food for larger organisms, such as fungi and worms. In turn, these organisms attract even larger predators, such as birds. Compost piles create a miniature ecosystem packed with thriving organisms of numerous types and sizes. The crumb like structure of compost allows it to store or release air and water depending on the plant s needs. Also, the fact that compost provides air and water through plants roots reduces the need for plants to obtain air and water from the atmosphere. Furthermore, compost s ability to store over 60% of its own mass in water reduces the need for plants to be watered and improves their chances of surviving through droughts. Compost is an

Pros And Cons Of Banning The Veil conclude that banning the veil isn t as just about assuaging the suffering of the Muslim woman as much as it is about protecting French republican notions of sexuality, notions considered fundamental and foundational against the disturbing influence of Islam (Scott pp. 123). Women choosing to wear a Burqa however may be doing so as a symbol of demanding control over their bodies and rejecting the sexuality and objectification of the republic culture. What s appalling is the assumption that a veiled woman means submission and oppression. Based on their own perceptions of what is empowering and what is suffering, proponents of the ban have been speaking on behalf of the Muslim woman: As a non muslim, I would never wear a burqa and therefore you should not wear a burqa . By foisting their own perceptions of what is right and wrong, they are stigmatizing Muslim women and imposing restrictions on their freedom of choice. A veil could... During the French colonization of the Maghreb, Muslims were depicted as inferior people, incapable of self government. Expressions of bias against Muslims stem from a deep seated psychological preoccupation with the other . • 45. An Reflection On The Impression Formation INTRODUCTION: Impression is a long lasting image of a person created in our minds which can last long for years. There are a lot of research done by Solomon Asch (1946), Bruner Taiguri (1954), Rosenberg, Nelson Vivekanathan (1968) to understand Impression Formation. According to Solomon Asch (1946) at a glance of any personan impression of his personality can instantly form. Even by looking or talking with that person a whole story about his entire character can be told. These impressions can be formed quickly and easily which can enhance or distress our opinion on a person. Our ongoing observations can t be change but we can neglect it. Even it is known that this process is not perfect but sometimes it can be extremely sensitive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There has been different studies that shows that skills of impression management work effectively. It even helps in creating optimistic first impression of a person but it also cannot be true always. For example, it s not always necessary that good first impression of a student (intelligent) on the first day of school would be same, it can vary or change according to his performance in the class. The question is why there is always different character in a person. And even when they have same character what make them different from each other. According to Solomon Asch (1946) every individual have different characteristics. For example, a person can have different characteristics like he/she is intelligent, energetic, have great sense of humor, is very fast in his work, courageous, punctual and humble with his fellows. This can create an impression of that person in our mind. A combination of a person character make an impression of him/her on others. But the main question asked by Solomon Asch (1946) We ask: How do the several characteristics function together to produce an impression of one person? What principles regulate this process? According to Asch (1946) the variety and way to which one goes elsewhere form the first information given by the trait is variable but some traits have much more

  • 47. The Crisis Of Identity By William Faulkner The Crisis of Identity Arguably one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, William Faulkner was plagued with a crisis of identity from a young age. Inadequate in nearly every aspect of his life, Faulkner projected his personal shortcomings onto many of his characters, such as with Miss Emily Grierson in A Rose for Emilyand Wash Jones in Wash. However, instead of victimizing these characters within his works, Faulkner chooses to rely almost exclusively on the lowborn or outcasts, such as Wash and Miss Emily, as examples of heroism. In Wash, Faulkner depicts Wash Jones as being the very bottom of society, an image that is strengthened by the foil of Thomas Sutpen. Unlike Sutpen, a self made man who has risen to the top of society, Wash Jones is the lowest of the low. Wash s exceptionally degraded status at the bottom of the social heap makes it so that even a Negro woman can block his entrance to Sutpen s kitchen: Stop right dar, white man. Stop right whar you is. You ain t never crossed dese steps whilst Cunnel (Sutpen) here, and you ain t ghy do hit now (131). Wash Jones s monumental identity issues are further exemplified through his cowardliness. When Colonel Sutpen goes off to fight for the Confederacy, Wash does not go; he instead tells anyone he can that he is looking after Sutpen s plantation and slaves. However, this was a lie, as most of them... to whom he told it, knew, though there were some who believed that [Wash] really believed it, though even these believed that he had better sense than to put it to the test with Mrs. Sutpen or the Sutpen slaves (130). Like Faulkner, both Miss Emily and Wash Jones suffer from significant identity issues; however it is these issues that give them the potential to be the atypical heroes that Faulkner crafts. • 49. Hitler s Influence On The World War II In the year 1940, many Germans stood in a square, saluting and chanting Hitler s name. World War II has begun and many Germans hope for improvements in the economy. Their leader is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler, dictator of Germany in World War II, was a powerful speaker who caused over 5 million deaths in concentration camps. Though Hitler s impact can be felt in modern times, the roots of his atrocious behavior began in childhood more specifically high school. Years before Adolf Hitlerwas born, Hitler s great grandfather, Johann Georg Hiedler, was a wandering miller. Before his second marriage he had an illegitimate son named Alois Hitler s father. Since Alois was illegitimate, he kept his mother s last name, Schicklgruber. In 1847 Hiedler vanished from the family and came back thirty years later to change Alois s last name to Hitler. Currently, many historians postulate if Hitler s great grandfather did not change Alois s last name to Hitler, Adolf may not have created the impact he had on humanity (Shirer 6 7). Alois had three marriages; his first wife was Anna Glasl Hoerer. Unfortunately, it was not a happy marriage, and after sixteen years, he left. Sadly, his wife died three years later. A month after his wife died, Alois Hitler married a cook named Franziska Matzelsberger, through which he had a son, Alois and a daughter, Angela. Franziska died within a year from tuberculosis and Alois Hitler moved on. (Shirer 8 9) After Alois Hitler married, his third wife,

The synoptic gospels, Mark, Matthew, and Luke in the new testament of the Bible are similar stories, sequence, and wording. The book of Matthew and Luke displays a viewpoint of the stories as told in the book of Mark. The three synoptic gospels stand in contrast to the book of John whose content is distinct. The role of miracles plays a critical role in the New Testament of the Bible in religious traditions in Christianity. The synoptic gospels reflects unique differences regarding miracles of healing as told in Mark in contrast to Matthew and Luke. I plan to demonstrate the differences in two synoptic gospels by comparing and contrasting them to two miracles of healing in the book of Mark. The two miracles I will explore will include healing a woman of hemorrhages and a man with leprosy. The first miracle I will explore will be healing in the gospel of Mark. In Mark, Chapter 5, verses 25 34, he quotes, Now there was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years. She had endured much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had; and she was no better, but rather grew worse. She had heard about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, for she said, If I but touch his clothes, I will be made well Immediately her hemorrhages stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. The epitome of bad behavior would be America, the wild ginger who will do anything she deems morally right, even if it could get her kicked out of the palace. The prince, Maxon, on the other hand, is far too obedient and struggles throughout the book with whom he should choose to be his bride; this struggle causes further strife not only between him and America, but also between him and his father, King Clarkson. Prince Maxon can also relate problems in his life to those of certain songs. One song that is particularly similar to Maxon s struggles is called, The Unforgiven, by Metallica. The song is generally about a parent disparaging their child and ruling over them. The song goes, The young boy learns their rules. With time, the child draws in, this whipping boy done wrong, deprived of all his thoughts, the young man struggles on and on (Metallica, 1991). These lyrics fit very well to the book because Maxon s father, the king, is bellicose and tends to rule over Maxon s every move. Not only that, but when Maxon fails to do something precisely to the king s wishes he is wiped, just like the boy in the song. In the book, more problems are caused for Maxon when America finds out about his father wiping him. America states, Undressing Maxon hadn t been a romantic moment, but I couldn t tell them I d been tending to wounds on his back specifically delivered by his father (Cass, 21). Despite the cruel fact that what his father is doing is wrong, Maxon cannot congregate enough courage to stand up to him. It even boils down to the decisions he makes: I will not have anyone else telling me who I can and cannot marry! This is my life you re playing games with! (Cass, 43). This statement proves just how fed up Maxon is of his fathers un ending edicts and everybody s astronomical expectations. In the song, it also tells of the boy being too scared to stand up to his parents: What I ve felt, what I ve known, never shined through what I ve shown (Metallica, 1991). This meaning that he hides what he feels; because of fear of his father, the king, his emotions and wants never truly make it to the

Timothy Mcgrew Contradictions In the first part of Dr. Timothy McGrew s discussion on the dependability of Acts and Luke as an author, McGrew shows and proceeds to interact with the opposing view held by Dr. Bart Ehrman. McGrew respectfully goes through each of Ehrman s negative and misguided beliefs on the contradictions and errors Erhman believes there to be in the book of Acts. Investigating the first apparent contradiction Acts 1:12 vs Luke 24:50, Ehrman holds that Luke unreliably claims Jesusas ascending into heaven on the same day that he rose from the dead and met with the disciples. However, he asserts the opposite is stated in Acts and therefore portraying a different picture where the resurrection, ascension, and the meeting of the disciples did not all occur on the same day. McGrew reassesses each chapter and displays to the audience the literal text, which does not show any signs of opposition when placed in regards to each other. Merely, the text displays a writing style known as telescoping in which events are misperceived as being in a time either more distant or more recent than the reality. Namely, for a legal binding contract to arise there must be an agreement between the contracting parties, which is between the donor and the charity (Gary, 2010). Agreements that are entered into by parties give rise to two essential elements of a contract that include; the offer that resulted when the donor makes a promise to contribute some amount. In the sample case, Claire made an offer when she made a phone call and pledged $1000 to save the dogs . Acceptance is the subsequent element that develops when parties enter into an agreement. For this reason, acceptance was brought about by the charity accepting Claire pledge through the phone call. Certainly the charity may chose not to enforce the pledge Claire made to show good faith in their charity. All in all, for a binding contract to be valid there must be a consideration that is typically a promise that acts as a price for the promise made by the contracting parties (Gary, 2010). The consideration in the charity pledge case is a picture of the animal that a donor has helped and also a t shirt. These items are the price for the pledge made by Claire of
