Essay On Of Mice And Men
Crafting an essay on "Of Mice and Men" can present a considerable challenge due to the
multifaceted nature of the novel and the depth of its themes. First and foremost, one must delve
into the intricacies of the characters, their relationships, and the socio-economic backdrop against
which the narrative unfolds. This requires a meticulous analysis of each character's motivations,
actions, and the impact they have on the overall plot.
Furthermore, the novel delves into profound societal issues, such as the American Dream and the
harsh realities of the Great Depression. Addressing these themes necessitates a comprehensive
understanding of the historical context, as well as the ability to draw connections between the
characters' experiences and the broader social and economic struggles of the time.
In addition to the literary analysis, constructing a coherent and compelling argument requires
careful consideration of the author's narrative techniques, symbolism, and the underlying
messages conveyed throughout the text. Unraveling the nuances embedded in Steinbeck's prose
demands a keen eye for detail and a knack for connecting disparate elements to form a cohesive
interpretation.
Moreover, it's crucial to present a unique perspective or argument that adds depth to the
discussion, steering clear of mere plot summaries or generic observations. This requires critical
thinking and the ability to articulate one's ideas effectively.
Concluding such an essay poses its own set of challenges. Summarizing the key points,
reinforcing the thesis, and leaving a lasting impression on the reader demands a delicate balance
between conciseness and eloquence.
While the process of writing an essay on "Of Mice and Men" may be arduous, it is equally
rewarding. The novel's richness offers ample material for exploration and interpretation, allowing
for a profound engagement with literature. For those seeking assistance with such endeavors or
similar projects, various resources, including professional writing services, can provide support
and guidance.

Lather And Nothing Else Analyse
The short story Lather and Nothing Else by Hernando Tellez is about a barber that
shaves a man who turns out to be the leader of the opposing political party during a
revolution. This story most likely takes place in a small town in Latin America. The
work of fiction is written in present tense, leaving a suspenseful tone throughout the
story. In this piece of literature, there is an obvious external conflict, which is
represented with the two opposing political forces. However, the whole story is an
internal struggle through the barber s thoughts. At the end of the text, the barber
ultimately lets the Captain live, but, throughout the story Torres knew about the
barber s secret and his desire to kill him. Hernando Tellez s short story teaches the
reader that the direction of one s life is dependent on the choices that one makes.

This object is typically an instrument to remove hair. However, this tool can also be
used as an instrument of war. In this short story, the razor is symbol that represents
the theme of choice. The barber has to make the choice whether to use the razor as a
murder weapon or a tool for work. This short story contains situational irony
because the reader expects to kill Captain Torres however, he does not. I m sure
with a strong blow, a deep cut, he would feel no pain. He would not suffer at all
(Tellez 345). In this quote, he describes how he would kill Torres using his razor.
Yet, in the end he ultimately chooses to let him live. The reader expects that the
barber would kill Torres considering that the whole story was leading to that
outcome. Surprisingly, the barber does not even lay a scratch on Torres and lets him

The Role of Research in Marketing Essay
INTRODUCTION This research aims at finding out basic research methods,
principles and techniques in order to present them in a seminar entitled The Role of
Research in Marketing that is going to be organized on 20 August 2010. For this
reason, this study will collect data and information regarding researchmethods,
principles and techniques from various sources, especially secondary sources. In this
regard, this study taken into account various postulations made so far by the
researchers, theorists and scholars. Research, generally is the composition of the two

TASK 1
RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Research proposal is a detail or map of research that involves the problems and
issues, an assumption to solution, methods to achieve proposed objectives, budget
and time. In other words, it can be said that the research proposal is a document
prepared previously with an intention or vision to find out cause effect relationship
between or among marketing or business variables. Dawson (2009:57) views: The
proposal is a document which sets out your ideas in an easily accessible way. To say
clearly, research proposal is an overall description of what one wants to do, for what
purpose and in what way.
TASK 1.1
RESEARCH QUESTION OR HYPOTHESIS Research deals with specific issues
or problems, which are prominent to be explored and solved. In fact, the research
centers on some specific issues and questions which should be addressed. Such
issues or questions are the statement of the problems, to solve which, the researchers
generate a tentative solution or response to the questions stated in the research.
However, to identify the issues and probable solutions for them in a logical way is a
challenging task for researchers. In general terms, research question is an issue or

INTRODUCTION: Swiss French writer, painter and mostly self taught architect Le

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) response to the Northridge
earthquake was almost immediate with the assistance of two urban search and
rescue teams and the support from FEMA continued to grow after that (DeBlasio

an aid package to support the rebuilding needs of the area impacted by the
earthquake. The aid package was broken down int several categories of recipients
of the money with the two largest being money for FEMA and money of the

Chaucer s Lust
Love is one of the most beautiful things that an individual can experience. It leads
people into doing things that they would not do in their original senses. According to
the dictionary, love is an intense feeling or deep affection for someone. Even though
love seems to be the best thing on earth, it can also be the worst. When loveis not not
mutual, feelings can be hurt. Most people experience the negative side of love one
time or another in their lifetime. Even though society sees it as love, it can
sometimes be mistaken for lust. Someone s most dramatic time of love (or lust) is
usually during their teenage years when they are more more exposed to the things
happening in this world. As hormones kick in, life becomes an everlasting... Show

Chaucer s three short poems all show people who believed then were disappointed
by this feeling. The girl in The Complaint of Venus thinks that In him is goodly
kindness, wisdom, self control, far more than any wit can devise; for good fortune
has willed to advance him so far that he is the perfect treasure of knighthood.
Honor itself honors him for his nobility, and Nature withal has formed him so well
that I assure him I am his forever; for every creature praises his nobility (Chaucer
1). The man in The Complaint of His Lady that Because I love her she slays me
guiltless. Her I love best, and shall as long as I live, better an hundred thousand
times than myself, better than all the riches and created beings of this world (
Chaucer 3). He did not have it in his mind that he would be hurt at the end. In The
Complaint Unto Pity, it is explained how having pity can lead a person to
experiencing bitterness. Pity, whom I have sought so long with sore heart and with
gnawing pain that there was never in this world a creature so woeful who did not
die! To speak the truth, my purpose was to complain unto Pity of the cruelty and
tyranny of Love, who slays me for my faithfulness (Chaucer 1). One can then infer
that love always has a negative impact on someone s life. Even married people have
to go through downfalls in their relationship, whether it is cheating, neglect, or lack of
7 Septets Of Revelation Book
Revelation is a part of the Apocalyptic Literature family, falling into the heavenly
journey category. Some common features of apocalyptic literature like Revelation
would be an angelic mediator, a narrative framework that is not always linear,
discloses transcendent reality, symbolic discourse (allowing for semantic
overreaching and grounded in the worldview of 1st c. Judaism/Christianity), and it
is focused on a particular response. Regarding the time and space of Apocalyptic
Literature, there are two different focuses, either eschatological or epistemological.
There are 7 septets in Revelation. My passage is not in the 7 septets but rather

Honestly, I never really got into this book and I thought it was pretty pointless

Throughout the whole book, Cassia constantly stated her interest in the Rising.
Every time she would mention it, Ky would say how much he hated it and he and
Cassia would get in an argument. That s why I was really surprised when he joined
the Rising especially since he had to run the entire way there, while Cassia and
Indie got to canoe. This is significant because Ky hated the Rising with all of his
heart because it s the reason his parents were killed, but despite his hate for it, he
joined it anyway to be with Cassia. Getting this message from the book was pretty
self explanatory because in the first book they had no disagreements, so their
relationship was perfect. When their journey through the Carving came to the point
where they had to start thinking about if they were going to join the Rising or the
Farmers and they both wanted to go to different destinations, their relationship
became full of bickering. In the end, though, they loved each other so much that Ky
gave up his hate for the Rising to join it. This shows that if you love somebody

What Makes Architecture Real
Project Report:
Jon 9. Grade
Architecture
Architecture is a word of common knowledge, as I think it should and is at least for
the people around me that i know. For me the word is always associated with
architect, because an architect is the one who makes architecture real. Architecture as
people understand it nowadays probably came to life with the species homo
sapiens because they are self conscious, before it was just a very primitive thing.
You could say DNA is an architect because it builds, in fact it is probably the best
and wisest architect humans know of, therefore we are also architecture because
anything that is built and is physical can be architecture by definition even Wikipedia
states that. This is is all very philosophical.
All form of art are connected with philosophy and so is architecture. Architecture is
considered art, plus everything that involves with it like the process of designing.
Architecture was the first art form on this planet, everything existing is in reality
architecture, noone never said architecture had to be created by a conscious being. If
universe just came into existence, therefore nothingness itself is an architect.
Therefore nothingness could be conscious, just vacuum or something more. ... Show

Nowadays building are not that practical anymore, there have been buildings just
for the show like the Eiffel tower. In fact there have been buildings just for show
since the beginning of first civilizations. Temples for gods, pyramids for pharaos,
arcs for victorious battles. Still architecture has to stay practical and efficient, if not,
we could not support 7 billion people on this earth. For example building a house
which fits 5 families inside comfortably when it could as well fit in 15 families same
comfortably with the same amount of effort put in. In other words not doing anything
Theodore Roosevelt View On Imperialism
Theodore Roosevelt: I believe that America has a destiny to expand. Now that we
have occupied all of the continental United States, it is time to occupy other
territories and gain new states around the world. When we own places like this,
especially near Asia, we will have much more opportunities to expand our markets
and grow our economy. Also, having ports throughout the Pacific Oceanwill help us
create a strong naval force, which will give our great nation global power.
Imperialism is the key to a strong, honored country.
Mark Twain: I believe that Imperialism would make our nation strong in some
ways, but weak in more important others. It may give our nation global eminence in
military and trade. However, it takes the land belonging to native people, and creates
a mode of self interest from it. In the treaty of Paris, instead of civilizing the people
of the Philippines and bringing them Christianity, it oppresses them, conquers them,
and kills them. There is no moral excuse for this conduct. America will be seen as
weak because, instead of honorably setting a people up for prosperity, it shuns,
weakens, and destroys them. Imperialism is the key to a controlling, tyrant country.
Theodore Roosevelt: Nonsense. America is destined to become a global power. If
there is no other way to do this except by oppressing another nation, it must be done.
We must not let anything get in the way of our rise to global recognition.
Mark Twain: What were the first
Informative Essay On King Arthur
King Arthur is a legendary character in British history, though his existence is
frequently debated among historians. The story of King Arthur and the sword in the
stone is an international story. However I find that the knowledge frequently held by
the common populace tends to be contradictory to what is consistently found in the
most reluctantly trusted sources. I m here to correct that misinformation.
THE STORY OF KING ARTHUR
CHILDHOOD
Arthur was born during the fall of an empire, the Dark Ages (a time of great chaos
and war). It was a time of barbarian invarsions and internal strife within the country
of Britain. Arthur was born as the heir to the throne, the son of the King of Britain
(Ulric Pendragon) and the wife (the enchanting blue eyed Igraine) of one of his
subjects, the Duke of Cornwall (Gorlois).
In legend it is said that upon Arthur s birth he was left in the care of Merlin as the
price for his assistance in ensuring the success of Uther s love for Igraine. However
the truth was that he was left in the hands of Merlin so that he could be protected
from the matters of the court.
Merlin entrusted Arthur to be raised as the adopted son of a wise old Knight (Sir
Ector).Arthur was raised alongside his adoptive brother Sir Kay who he was more
skilled than in swordsmanship, however he would end up willingly serving as a mere
squire under him. It is said that from childhood Sir Ector felt the aura of a king
emanating from Arthur. Which was only further

we talked about the girl we hated he displayed all of the emotions listed above

Examples Of Religious Themes In The Hunchback Of Notre
Dame
In the modern era, most films are secular. They are not intended to present a
religious interpretation of life and we do not expect it from the film industry.
However, religion is a large part of the lives of most people, so it is realistic to
notice that religious references and ideas will be present in some films. William
Telford s religion and film model [1] makes it easier to depict if those underlying
religious themes are present. The movie most associated with religious themes
produced by Disney would have to be the Hunchback of Notre Dame . As stated by
Porter in the course notes [1], this film is a great fit for Telfords model. Claude
Frollo, is a deeply religious man who believes he is doing right by his religion by
taking in the seemingly unholy Quasimodo, after being judged by the Archdeacon.
He feels as though he is acting in a righteous manner when he adopts Quasimodo as
well as when he plans to commit genocide against all of the gypsies. As the plot
develops unlike Quasimodo, Frollo s belief in the church disappears, and this can
be seen in his determination to kill Esmeralda, believing if she is the source of his
lust and refuses to be with him romantically, she must die in a Hellfire . The
decisions of the main characters focused on right and wrong and good and evil
throughout the whole film, and how one will be judged solely by god, which is a
perfect parallel to this film and the very common Christian theme. Another film that
fits well with Telfords
The Proposed Solution1 Builds A Framework For Add

The proposed solution1 builds a framework to add static probes. This solution was
designed and implemented by me as part of VProbes[7] project during summer
internship 2014 at VMware, inc. The solution in this paper covers a high level
overview of the framework. It builds on top of the existing VProbes[7] design1.
User space applications or the existing kernel source can add static probes using
this framework. The paper describes adding static probes in a user space
application to keep the explanation simple. Figure 1 shows a simple user code. The
application contains two probe points defined viz. FuncEntry and FuncExit. These
are static probes which are added by the developer. The probe points are expanded in
a macro which is defined in the header file probes.h. Each of these probe points are
declared as a volatile integer variable. However, these integer variables are
declared in a separate section in the ELF file as shown in Figure 2. Thus all the
defined probe points are part of new section called probes_uwsection. The probe
points are padded with a name called PROBE_ and _PROBE to avoid name
mangling issue in C++. Hence, after pre processing stage, every probe name is
padded. The application is compiled and loaded. During application load in the
kernel, the binary is intercepted at the ELF loader. In the ELF loader, the binary is
checked for the presence of the new section probes_uwsection. If the new section
exists, all the probe points declared in the new
Speculative Fiction Vs. Realistic Fiction
Why speculative fiction offers more to readers than realistic fiction.
In this essay, I will discuss how speculative fiction offers more to readers than
realistic fiction. I will explain both genres and go on to explain what they are like in
the time we live in now and how writers use speculative fiction. For my manuscript, I
am planning to write a short story collection and the main genre will be speculative
fiction. I am choosing this genre, because it is one that bring together fantasy,
supernatural, magical realism, and mystery themes that I am intending to write
about. With magical realism being a prominent theme out of these, I will discuss
why it is an important one within speculative fiction. Another reason as to why I am
choosing this genre is because I will be able to write using these themes as they
occur in ordinary lives of ordinary characters. The last reason I am choosing this
genre is because of the curiosity that comes when reading speculative fiction, which I
will discuss before the conclusion.
Realistic fiction is a genre which covers topics and people readers would expect to
see in the world now. These stories that covers topics that everyday people go through
like school, love, society. Although the topics are broad about what a writer could
write about under this genre, there are the limits they face when confined to the
realistic world. (http://study.com/academy/lesson/what is realistic fiction definition

one of the most prominent, yet one of the most controversial figures of Canada
during the Red River and the North West Rebellions. I respectfully disagree that
Louis Rielis guilty of high treason, who instead should be granted clemency and not

his outstanding accomplishments, such as defending the MГ©tis rights, taking good
risks and action, and shaping the province of Manitoba. Louis Riel, a daring man who

As many already know, Louis led two main rebellions against the Canadian
government, known as the Red River Rebellion in 1869; the time when the MГ©tis
were in the threat of losing all their land, and the Northwest Rebellion in 1885; the
time when Louis and the MГ©tis took their final stand in Saskatchewan. In
addition to this, Louis Riel and his men captured and executed an aggravating
English man named Thomas Scott, who was fighting against MГ©tis rights. Tom
declared, You? A bunch of Catholic half breeds? It would be a sunny day in hell
before I d do a thing you tell me to. What can you do to me you haven t done

threats and malicious remarks had to be put to a stop, therefore leading to his

government were only out of passion and out of reasons to save the MГ©tis
independence. Due to these occurrences, it had established a vital point in Canada
that wouldn t have happened if he never stood up for the MГ©tis. He formed the
province of Manitoba. Without the recent rebellions and uprisings, would Manitoba
be what it is today? On December 8, 1869, the Provisional government was set up
by the MГ©tis. With this already in hand, the government was able to write the
MГ©tis Bill of Rights, a list of what the Red River Colony desired to join
confederation. Finally, on July 15, 1870, the
Dietrich Bonhoeffer Research Paper
In 1906, Dietrich Bonhoeffer was born along with his twin sister Sabine in
Breslau, Germany to neurologist Karl Bonhoeffer and his wife Paula. Growing up,
Dietrich was expected to follow the footsteps of his father and his older siblings
into the field of medicine, however it was quite a surprise for them to hear that he
had decided to become a pastor. This was shocking news to the Bonhoeffers because
they were not religious family. Bonhoeffer graduated from the University of Berlin
in 1927 with a doctorate degree in the field theology at the age of only twenty one.
He believed that Christians needed to be involved in politics and work together in
order to establish God s kingdom on earth.
By 1930, the popularity of Adolf Hitler was growing rapidly throughout Germany. It
was this time that Bonifer left Germany and went to New York City where he
pastored at a church in Harlem for several years. After his time spent in the United
States, he returned to Germany to find that many of his people were denying their
faith and turning to the deceptive ideas of Hitler. When Bonhoeffer had seen this, he
quickly warned Germany through a radio program broadcasted throughout the
country. In this radio program, Bonhoeffer preached against Hitler warning the

problem which couldn t be healed in a world without free trade. But as Dave tells the
reader, Justin is only wearing the glasses because the people Upstairs made this
happen. Justin normally doesn t wear glasses at all, he would have lost his
eyesight entirely .(p.110) The company Merck will only be able to develop the
medicine Justin needed in a world of free trade. Otherwise America would be too
busy by doing everything for itself and there wouldn t be enough people, machines,
and land to go around to make everything as cheaply as could be made under free

3)In a world with trade is Justin seen doing his homework in front of a big screen
television (p.25) There is also a computer on a nearby desk. Everything is state of
the art. But Justin still has problems with his eyes. That s why his dad says that
Justin had to watch his eyes and is not allowed to watch television very long. Ed is
concerned about Justins eyes. Dave tells him, that it isn t that worse and that Justin
takes a special medicine which will cure him. But America is only able to get this
medicine by free trade. America can only develop further if free trade is allowed.
And every nation can only be better off and becoming richer if it doesn t have trade
Research Paper On Haiti Earthquake
Haiti Earthquake
Have you ever heard of an earthquake so big that hundreds of thousands of people
lost their lives, more than three hundred thousand people were injured, and 1.5
million people became homeless? If not, let me introduce you to the Haiti Earthquake.
This enormous earthquake destroyed many lives. It was believed to have been caused
by the shifting of tectonic plates in the Earth. But, is this the truth?
In 2010, an earthquake broke out in Haiti. The city was left in ruins, 1.5 million
people lost their homes, and hundreds of thousands of people were either killed or
injured. Scientists claim that the cause of this earthquake was because of slippage
along the conservative plate boundary that runs through Haiti. But, some conspiracy

But, conspiracy theorists think HAARP s purpose is far more sinister than meets
the eye, says Stephanie Pappas, reporter for NBC news. HAARP is believed to use
their resources for weather warfare, which also plays into the role of the thought of
HAARP causing the earthquake in Haiti. Some reasoning that causes this theory is
as follows: Just a few hundred miles away from Haiti is a HAARP array; The
earthquake did not occur on a big fault line. This earthquake happened quite farther
south of the North American plate and Caribbean plate. It is rare that a quake is to
occur here, which makes room for conspiracies that HAARP caused it. These are just
two of the many reasons that stem from HAARP s involvement with the Haiti
Earthquake.
So how did HAARP cause the earthquake? HAARP has heaters in the Ionosphere.
From these heaters comes ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) waves. These waves
are powerful enough, at the right frequency, to cause vibrations in the Earth, which
can lead to an earthquake. One reason as to why HAARP would want to cause an
earthquake is because of the idea that Haiti is an unguarded, unwanted, low
protection country that could make a good place to test an earthquake. It also seems
odd that, since this earthquake was deep in Earth s surface, it only affected
Essay On Bipa Exposure
We set out to determine the extent of dental material related BPA exposure
comparing the urinary BPA concentrations before and after dental treatment among
patients receiving BisGMA based composites and sealants. Our findings suggest that
there is a transient lasting up to 14 days to 6 months increase in BPA concentrations
following treatment [35, 38], whether negative health effects can result from this
exposure is yet to be determined.
Dental composite restorations and dental sealants have revolutionized the field of
esthetic and preventive dentistry. Many of these products use BisGMA as an
ingredient and BPA exposure related to these products has only recently begun to be
rigorously explored. When BisGMA was developed in 1962, ... Show more content on

(2005) and Kang et al. (2011) observed sustained increases of BPA levels at 14 days
and one month respectively, while Maserejian et al. (2016) and Moreira et al. (2017)
reported that BPA levels were back to baseline by 14 days and one month
respectively. Martin et al. (2005), Kang et al. (2011) and Moreira et al. (2017) had
small sample sizes of 19, 22, 20 respectively, compared with Maserejian et al. (2016)
who used a sample size of 91 patients. The different results could be due to the
difference in the composition of dental material, the sample sizes, the amount of
material applied, differences in application/polymerization of the materials, laboratory
methodologies or limits of detection.
Martin et al. (2005) and Kang et al. (2011) studies were conducted 6 12 years ago
when environmental exposures to BPA from other sources were high and when the
assays for measuring BPA were not as robust/accurate. Maserejian et al. (2016) was
the only study that followed participants for over one month. This study found
minimal differences from baseline and 6 months, suggesting that BPA exposure from
dental treatment results in a transient increase in urinary BPA concentrations.
Two studies, Maserejian et al. (2016) and Kingman et al. (2012), reported no
association between the number of pre existing resin based restorations and
concentrations of BPA in urine. This suggests that BPA concentrations are not due to
release of BPA from degradation BisGMA based dental
An Informal Reading Inventory Is A Great Tool For
Teachers
An Informal Reading Inventory is a great tool for teachers to use with their students
to assess multiple concepts. One purpose of the IRI is to monitor the growth of a
student s word recognition, oral reading, and comprehension to determine the reading
level of independent, instructional, and frustration. The frustration level is when the
passage is too hard for the student even with help from the teacher. The instructional
reading level is when a student can read the text with the assistance from a teacher,
parent, or peer. Independent means that the student can read the passage alone with
no outside assistance. When teachers administer these tests they can pick the level of
the passage given and use the results to help decide how to further instruct the
student. Later on, test the student on the same level to measure the growth of the
student.
The assessment is given by having a student answer concept questions about a
passage before reading. When administering the assessment, tell the student his/her
answers will be recorded to elevate stress on the student. Next, the student will use
context clues to draw predictions following with reading the passage orally with no
support from the teacher. Students are advised before reading to try to sound out
words or move on from the word. As the student reads, the teacher counts all of the
miscues the student had. Miscues consist of omission of words or phrases, reversal
of words, self correction, insertion of words into the text,

Resolving the Global Warming Problem
It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else
will effect the outcome.
Global Warming according to Microsoft Bookshelf nineteen ninety eight edition is A

industrial air emissions (MS Bookshelf 98). Global Warming could be one of the
most important issues of the century. As global warming becomes more and more of

When the polar ice caps melt more water is added to the atmosphere. One finding
suggests that the ocean water is less salty then it was under the ice twenty years
earlier this would tend to confirm that the melting and shrinking of the ice caps
has already taken place (Barker 43). In general more rain would occur causing a
more humid climate. Heavy rains would cause mudslides like they did in California
last summer killing many people (Cook 58). The rains in California were torrential
and the worst the state has seen in many years (Hayden 13). If the ocean rises that
much then the saltwater incursions would eliminate much of the fresh water in the
world. Moisture fuels many of the worst storms in the world. If the ice caps melt
obviously much more water will be added to the atmosphere. Hurricanes, floods,
tsunamis, typhoons, cyclones, and monsoons, are a few of the most dangerous
storms fueled by heat and water. Most people know the catastrophes that all of these
storms have created throughout the years. Recently the worst cyclone in 25 years hit
India killing more than 400 people and in Africa unusually strong rains
The Nuclear Disaster at Chernobyl Essay
Every Year, The United States is faced with the threat of a Nuclear disaster or
equipment failure. Since the demand for energy increases, the federal government
and private companies are forced to create more chemical plants. Further, each plant
in operation poses an immediate threat to the drinking water and land around the area.
According to the Energy Information Administration, America s energy consumption
in 2011 was thirteen times greater than it was in 1950. Currently, there are at least 65
active nuclear plants that operate within 31 states. With energy usage increasing at an
alarming rate, the likelihood of a nuclear disaster occurring is a reality. It is important
for citizens to know what the nuclear disaster is, what... Show more content on

There is always risk involved when handling nuclear threats. Sometimes human
error is to blame for emergency shutdowns. On March 22, 1975, In Alabama, a
massive fire took place at Browns Ferry Nuclear reactor. The fire was caused by an
electrical inspector s leaving a candle too close to foam rubber while checking to
see if the crew plugged the air leaks correctly within the cable room. The fire spread
quickly, causing the alarms to sounds and the reactor to fail. As a result of his
actions, the pressure system was destroyed, causing air to rush in the reactor, and the
core was almost exposed. Control rods were able to help shut the reactor down and
fire extinguishers were used to control the fire.
Major disasters can happen anywhere in the world. Further, intelligence sharing,
freelance journalists, and News networks, allows for the damage of isolated disasters
to be viewed in every country. Sensationalized incidents such as the Chernobyl
disaster in Ukraine, highlights a systemic failure within government due to its failure
to regulate private companies. Public outcry from the disaster prompts world leaders
to make immediate changes within its emergency disaster guidelines.
During the Chernobyl disaster, Simple errors such as a Faulty structure design within
the reactors, mechanical failure in a cooling system or reduced air pressure, and
human error created an environment for a meltdown to occur. Without the proper
emergency features,
Health Disparity Between Indigenous And Non-Indigenous...
Historically, Indigenous Australians have undergone immense suffering and losses

Cultural safety is an important aspect that can help alleviate fears, hostility and

are intricately linked, therefore, it s crucial to take into consideration the different
factors that plays a major role in indigenous health and wellbeing. Personally, I would

In all of these magazines, they display a photograph that takes up the middle third
of the page, and this is because the target demographic (men aged 18 30) are
generally more likely to view the centre third of the page grid first. Also, all of the
magazine names are partially covered, which creates the impression that the
magazines are well known and their names do not need to be fully shown to be
recognised.
The photographs of the actors on these magazine front covers are large and colourful,
which aims to attract the demographics attention. Famous male actors are included to
show the magazine s genre and what the target demographic is. The large size of the
photographs suggests that the actors are the main focus of the magazine. Well
known names like Hugh Jackman and Liam Neeson will make people want to buy
the magazine because they will be interested in what they have to say on certain
subjects, and because they will want to follow the actor s fashion because they will
wish to be as attractive as they are. Looking at the camera is direct mode of address,

magazine.
On all three front covers, the colours black and red are used: black because it is a

magazine, and red because it is a colour that makes the page more dramatic and
interesting. Also, each front cover displays a wide

The flashy advertisements broadcast in television generate impulse shopping in
children. Children, after watching the glitter of commercials, often lose the ability
to live a life without materialistic joy. The kids usually get more attracted towards
the costly branded products, such as jeans and accessories. They disregard the
inexpensive, but useful, ones that are not shown in the commercials.
Advertisements have an indirect effect on the behavior of children. They might
develop temper tantrums, when deprived of the latest toys and clothes that are
shown in the commercials. The personal preferences in clothing, toys, food and
luxurious of children are altered by the advertisements, to a great extent. Junk
foods, such as pizzas, burgers and soft drinks, are heavily promoted during
children s TV viewing time. This develops a craving for fatty, sugary and fast
foods in kids, thereby affecting their health adversely. BELOW ARE FINDINGS

Descriptive Essay About Going To The Beach
It began with a blazing, crackling, smokey fire. Friends and family sat there with a
glow from the fire upon us. All of us, Corbin, Charles, my Mom, my Aunt, and I,
sat silently listening to a mixture of the fire, along with ocean. Knowing that the
blazing sun would soon set, Corbin, Charles and I made the decision to go to the
beach. The journey taken that evening led me to realize my sense of direction. Us
three set out with one main objective. That main objective was to climb the rocks
next to the crashing waves of the receding ocean tide. We left our chairs by the fire
and began our journey with nothing but our phones. Beside our cabin was an old,
dusty trail with a large amount of overgrowth. Pushing tree branches out of our way,
passing byvarious flowers, shrubs, and trees, we made our way down the old warn
down path and onto dirt road. We all assumed that road wouldn t be used due to the
fact that it was beginning to be night. However, our thoughts were proven wrong
by the moderately dirty truck with bright headlights shining upon us. We noticed
the truck and scrambled to get to the side of the road. Once it had passed we
continued towards the beach. Look at that sunset, proclaimed Charles. It was the
moment when the sun cast a hazy red and orange across the horizon of the dark
blue ocean. We made our way to the sandy beach. It was embedded with thousands
of footprints from both visiting campers, as well as the snow white seagulls. We
walked along the beach with the waves nearly get us wet, passing drift wood and
heaps of seaweed. The only sounds heard were the crashing wave of the ocean and
occasional cawing of seagulls. We had made it to the jagged rocks with very little
daylight to spare. So much for the sunset, mumbled Cobin. I am willing to bet
there will be one tomorrow, I chuckle. We each hoist ourselves onto the rocks and
walk. We took note of the dim light casting over the dark ocean, which is visible as
far as the eye can see. If barefoot, this massive rock can be very hard on your feet.
We saw very little of the seagulls, and none of the hiding crabs. We had made it and
there was silence. The full moon was a magnificent sight to be seen in combination

Examples Of Racial Injustice In The NFL
A major problem in the National Football League(NFL) today isn t occurring in the
game itself, rather in the pre game National Anthem. Players are deciding to take a
knee or even sit on the bench during the anthem as a form of protest. Free agent
quarterback, Colin Kaepernick began the protest and has since, created a movement
among many other players in the NFL; a movement that has caused a lot of
controversy amidst United Statescitizens. Martin Luther King Jr. said in his letter
from the Birmingham Jail, whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. I
believe that this applies to this situation in that racial injustice has directly affected
Kaepernick; Kaepernick then expressed his feelings by protesting the anthem before
his games on national television. In doing so, he attracted the likes of other NFL
athletes and viewers of the games to agree with him and join the protest. As more and
more NFL players and coaches continue protesting the National Anthem by kneeling
/sitting, they should take into account what exactly they are protesting, what does
kneeling demonstrate, and what does standing for the flag mean? One important
question that these players need to consider is what are they protesting? Kaepernick
and others are protesting racial injustice, which is the idea that people are
discriminated by race or ethnicity in voting, employment, housing, and administration
of justice. On the other hand, the Pittsburgh Steelersmade a team decision, that they
Sense Of Communication In Louise Mallard s The Story Of

The Story of an Hour Rough Draft
The Story of an Hour is a tragic tale of a woman named Louise Mallard. Her
incapability to withstand sudden shock could be fatal. The news of her husband s
passing was involuntarily pleasing to her ears. She was beginning to recognize
this thing that was approaching to possess her...when she abandoned herself a little
whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under
her breath: free, free, free! The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed
it went from her eyes...they stayed keen and bright (Chopin 1). Her renewed sense
of freedom; a chance at a new beginning, sprung inspiration in her spirit. She did
not hear the story as man women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to
accept its significance (Chopin 1). As the sixty minutes of an altered judgement
pass, it is swiftly suppressed as her husband stands safe, unharmed and well in the
doorway of a new life. Mrs. Mallard could not endure the unanticipated prostration
and perished without experiencing the reborn world she had hoped to enjoy. By
analyzing Louise Mallard in The Story of an Hour , self assertion and lack of
communication are recognized, but concludes that she should be analyzed as an
ordinary human rather than a sample to be overdrawn over. Many arguments have
been presented that Louise Mallard demonstrates distinct, selfish acts of self
assertion. There has been, moreover, virtual critical agreement on what the story
says: its heroine dies, ironically and tragically, just as she has been freed from a
constructing marriage and has realized self assertion as the deepest element of her
being (Berkove 1). In this article it proposes this quote, but thereafter it compromises
the previous thought that Mrs. Mallard is ordinary. In agreement, she is just like any
other woman in this world. The reader must take into an account that women should
be secure in themselves before entering in a relationship. She did not depend her life
on her husband. Mrs. Mallard was solely calm and reserved about the situation.
Though the story did not express her religious beliefs, conclusions might be drawn
that she was content knowing she would see him once again. In a

nature of the problem, and how it affects all stakeholders, followed by the
controversies related to the topic, with potential solutions to such controversies. Next
in the report is the identification and prioritisation of appropriate riskcontrols, and
finally an indication of immediate and long term actions the airlinecarrier can take

Ultimately, the report as a whole will aid your airline carrier surrounding the issues of

Aerotoxic Syndrome is an illness that is caused by breathing in toxic fumes inside
of the jet aircraft. This is caused by the air intake on a plane, which comes from the
engine where it sucks in the air and pumps it into the cabin, but the toxic oils and
other substances in the engine can easily leak into the airflow and contaminate the air
that all passengers and staff breath. A very common leakage is the leakage of the jet
engine lubricant oil, tricresyl phosphate, otherwise known as TCP or TOCP. The
Government and regulatory authorities have conducted researches that have admitted
to the association between the contamination of the cabin air to chronic health
problems, but they have not admitted to specific causation. Aerotoxic Syndrome

Analysis Of Big Brother In George Orwell s Lone Survivor
Big Brother, in George Orwell s 1984, can regulate the thoughts of his subjects by
manipulating the content of any literature, even after it s published. Moreover,
despite knowing the past accounts, people still forget what they know and accept
what they are told. Even Winston Smith, who despises the way others blatantly
accept Big Brother s manipulation, cannot remember all of the facts that the regime
has distorted. In a similar manner, literature is used in In Marcus Luttrell s Lone

Afghanistan as the media and Luttrell himself writes. Therefore, through the events of

The aftermath of the Great war and the Great Depression brought on a dramatic social
change in America in the 1920s. The social change was a revolution that brought on
two fundamentally different beings; modernists and fundamentalists. While
fundamentalists valued the bible, and lived by it in its entirety, modernists were
more self conscious and favored creativity and common sense rather than the bible.
The divide had to come head when the controversial Scopes Monkey Trial began and
new theories were explored which were then applied in modernist art, literature, and
the way of thinking. The revolution in manners in morals is the direct outcome of

lives in the 1920s. Sigmund Freud, a psychoanalyst from Europe, heavily influenced
Americans because of his teachings about sex and behavior. Freud believed that the

Summary Of The Ojibway Creation Story
The Ojibway creation story portrays the ecological purpose of apprehending your
dwelling place. The Original Man was able to apprehend his dwelling place by living
in harmony with the rest of creation on Earth. Later on, the tribes that originated from
the Original Man began to fight one another over land and disrespected the living
things of Earth. Since the people were no longer apprehending their dwelling place,
Kitchi Manitou sent a flood to purify the Earth. New land was created when
Nanaboozhoo worked with the animals to retrieve earth from deep beneath the flood
waters. The cooperation of humans and animals is a critical part of apprehension
and allowed for a new dwelling place to be created.
The Ojibway creation story fulfills
Segregation In Cities
Segregation in cities has been an issue ever since the beginning of time. People
have always liked to put themselves in boxes, and divide people up by seemingly
arbitrary concepts. Some of these divisions happen due to more physical traits, with
the most prominent example being segregation based on racial differences, with
certain ethnicities being concentrated in certain areas of the city. In a more modern
setting, this can be seen in inner cities areas considered to be black neighborhoods ,
due to the large african americanpopulation.
This type of segregation was commonplace during the early to mid 20th century, as
racial segregation was still fairly common in most major cities. It was discriminatory,
and oftentimes, these people lived in poor conditions. Cramped and subpar housing
was not uncommon here, and the term ghetto was usually applied to these areas.
While the term was originally used for a neighborhood consisting of a single ethnic
group, a more negative connotation was applied to the term when used to describe
black neighborhoods.
This can also be used as an example of residential segregation, in which people are
divided up based on social class , or the amount of wealth they have. It applies to
those living in crowded city areas, as opposed to more affluent families that have a

For a while in the early 20 s and 30 s, the Jewish population was highly segregated,
and even treated like animals in some cases. The German government at the time
attempted to eradicate them under the rule of Adolf Hitler, marking one of the
darkest eras in human history. These people were given poor living conditions, even
outside the concentration camps. To this day, Jewish people still face discrimination
due to their religion. In turn, this does not apply to a single group, many groups can
still face segregation, despite their race, gender, religious affiliations, socio economic
standing, and so

First and foremost, one must delve into the intricacies of the characters, their relationships, and the socio-economic backdrop against which the narrative unfolds. That s why I was really surprised when he joined the Rising especially since he had to run the entire way there, while Cassia and Indie got to canoe. This is significant because Ky hated the Rising with all of his heart because it s the reason his parents were killed, but despite his hate for it, he joined it anyway to be with Cassia. Getting this message from the book was pretty self explanatory because in the first book they had no disagreements, so their relationship was perfect. When their journey through the Carving came to the point where they had to start thinking about if they were going to join the Rising or the Farmers and they both wanted to go to different destinations, their relationship became full of bickering. In the end, though, they loved each other so much that Ky gave up his hate for the Rising to join it. This shows that if you love somebody enough that no matter what it is you can learn to
  • 10. What Makes Architecture Real Project Report: Jon 9. Grade Architecture Architecture is a word of common knowledge, as I think it should and is at least for the people around me that i know. For me the word is always associated with architect, because an architect is the one who makes architecture real. Architecture as people understand it nowadays probably came to life with the species homo sapiens because they are self conscious, before it was just a very primitive thing. You could say DNA is an architect because it builds, in fact it is probably the best and wisest architect humans know of, therefore we are also architecture because anything that is built and is physical can be architecture by definition even Wikipedia states that. This is is all very philosophical. All form of art are connected with philosophy and so is architecture. Architecture is considered art, plus everything that involves with it like the process of designing. Architecture was the first art form on this planet, everything existing is in reality architecture, noone never said architecture had to be created by a conscious being. • 11. Theodore Roosevelt View On Imperialism Theodore Roosevelt: I believe that America has a destiny to expand. Now that we have occupied all of the continental United States, it is time to occupy other territories and gain new states around the world. When we own places like this, especially near Asia, we will have much more opportunities to expand our markets and grow our economy. Also, having ports throughout the Pacific Oceanwill help us create a strong naval force, which will give our great nation global power. Imperialism is the key to a strong, honored country. Mark Twain: I believe that Imperialism would make our nation strong in some ways, but weak in more important others. It may give our nation global eminence in military and trade. However, it takes the land belonging to native people, and creates a mode of self interest from it. In the treaty of Paris, instead of civilizing the people of the Philippines and bringing them Christianity, it oppresses them, conquers them, and kills them. There is no moral excuse for this conduct. America will be seen as weak because, instead of honorably setting a people up for prosperity, it shuns, weakens, and destroys them. Imperialism is the key to a controlling, tyrant country. Theodore Roosevelt: Nonsense. America is destined to become a global power. If there is no other way to do this except by oppressing another nation, it must be done. We must not let anything get in the way of our rise to global recognition. Mark Twain: What were the first
  • 12. Informative Essay On King Arthur King Arthur is a legendary character in British history, though his existence is frequently debated among historians. The story of King Arthur and the sword in the stone is an international story. However I find that the knowledge frequently held by the common populace tends to be contradictory to what is consistently found in the most reluctantly trusted sources. I m here to correct that misinformation. THE STORY OF KING ARTHUR CHILDHOOD Arthur was born during the fall of an empire, the Dark Ages (a time of great chaos and war). It was a time of barbarian invarsions and internal strife within the country of Britain. Arthur was born as the heir to the throne, the son of the King of Britain (Ulric Pendragon) and the wife (the enchanting blue eyed Igraine) of one of his subjects, the Duke of Cornwall (Gorlois). In legend it is said that upon Arthur s birth he was left in the care of Merlin as the price for his assistance in ensuring the success of Uther s love for Igraine. However the truth was that he was left in the hands of Merlin so that he could be protected from the matters of the court. Merlin entrusted Arthur to be raised as the adopted son of a wise old Knight (Sir Ector).Arthur was raised alongside his adoptive brother Sir Kay who he was more skilled than in swordsmanship, however he would end up willingly serving as a mere squire under him. It is said that from childhood Sir Ector felt the aura of a king emanating from Arthur. Which was only further

  • 14. Examples Of Religious Themes In The Hunchback Of Notre Dame In the modern era, most films are secular. They are not intended to present a religious interpretation of life and we do not expect it from the film industry. However, religion is a large part of the lives of most people, so it is realistic to notice that religious references and ideas will be present in some films. William Telford s religion and film model [1] makes it easier to depict if those underlying religious themes are present. The movie most associated with religious themes produced by Disney would have to be the Hunchback of Notre Dame . As stated by Porter in the course notes [1], this film is a great fit for Telfords model. Claude Frollo, is a deeply religious man who believes he is doing right by his religion by taking in the seemingly unholy Quasimodo, after being judged by the Archdeacon. He feels as though he is acting in a righteous manner when he adopts Quasimodo as well as when he plans to commit genocide against all of the gypsies. As the plot develops unlike Quasimodo, Frollo s belief in the church disappears, and this can be seen in his determination to kill Esmeralda, believing if she is the source of his lust and refuses to be with him romantically, she must die in a Hellfire . The decisions of the main characters focused on right and wrong and good and evil throughout the whole film, and how one will be judged solely by god, which is a perfect parallel to this film and the very common Christian theme. Another film that fits well with Telfords

This solution was designed and implemented by me as part of VProbes[7] project during summer internship 2014 at VMware, inc. The solution in this paper covers a high level overview of the framework. It builds on top of the existing VProbes[7] design1. User space applications or the existing kernel source can add static probes using this framework. The paper describes adding static probes in a user space application to keep the explanation simple. Figure 1 shows a simple user code. The application contains two probe points defined viz. FuncEntry and FuncExit. These are static probes which are added by the developer. The probe points are expanded in a macro which is defined in the header file probes.h. Each of these probe points are declared as a volatile integer variable. However, these integer variables are declared in a separate section in the ELF file as shown in Figure 2. Thus all the defined probe points are part of new section called probes_uwsection. The probe points are padded with a name called PROBE_ and _PROBE to avoid name mangling issue in C++. Hence, after pre processing stage, every probe name is padded. The application is compiled and loaded. During application load in the kernel, the binary is intercepted at the ELF loader. In the ELF loader, the binary is checked for the presence of the new section probes_uwsection. If the new section exists, all the probe points declared in the new
  • 16. Speculative Fiction Vs. Realistic Fiction Why speculative fiction offers more to readers than realistic fiction. In this essay, I will discuss how speculative fiction offers more to readers than realistic fiction. I will explain both genres and go on to explain what they are like in the time we live in now and how writers use speculative fiction. For my manuscript, I am planning to write a short story collection and the main genre will be speculative fiction. I am choosing this genre, because it is one that bring together fantasy, supernatural, magical realism, and mystery themes that I am intending to write about. With magical realism being a prominent theme out of these, I will discuss why it is an important one within speculative fiction. Another reason as to why I am choosing this genre is because I will be able to write using these themes as they occur in ordinary lives of ordinary characters. The last reason I am choosing this genre is because of the curiosity that comes when reading speculative fiction, which I will discuss before the conclusion. Realistic fiction is a genre which covers topics and people readers would expect to see in the world now. These stories that covers topics that everyday people go through like school, love, society. Although the topics are broad about what a writer could write about under this genre, there are the limits they face when confined to the realistic world. But, is this the truth? In 2010, an earthquake broke out in Haiti. The city was left in ruins, 1.5 million people lost their homes, and hundreds of thousands of people were either killed or injured. HAARP is believed to use their resources for weather warfare, which also plays into the role of the thought of HAARP causing the earthquake in Haiti. Some reasoning that causes this theory is as follows: Just a few hundred miles away from Haiti is a HAARP array; The earthquake did not occur on a big fault line. This earthquake happened quite farther south of the North American plate and Caribbean plate. It is rare that a quake is to occur here, which makes room for conspiracies that HAARP caused it. These are just two of the many reasons that stem from HAARP s involvement with the Haiti Earthquake. So how did HAARP cause the earthquake? HAARP has heaters in the Ionosphere. From these heaters comes ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) waves. These waves are powerful enough, at the right frequency, to cause vibrations in the Earth, which can lead to an earthquake. One reason as to why HAARP would want to cause an earthquake is because of the idea that Haiti is an unguarded, unwanted, low protection country that could make a good place to test an earthquake. It also seems odd that, since this earthquake was deep in Earth s surface, it only affected

  • 22. An Informal Reading Inventory Is A Great Tool For Teachers An Informal Reading Inventory is a great tool for teachers to use with their students to assess multiple concepts. One purpose of the IRI is to monitor the growth of a student s word recognition, oral reading, and comprehension to determine the reading level of independent, instructional, and frustration. The frustration level is when the passage is too hard for the student even with help from the teacher. The instructional reading level is when a student can read the text with the assistance from a teacher, parent, or peer. Independent means that the student can read the passage alone with no outside assistance. When teachers administer these tests they can pick the level of the passage given and use the results to help decide how to further instruct the student. Later on, test the student on the same level to measure the growth of the student. The assessment is given by having a student answer concept questions about a passage before reading. When administering the assessment, tell the student his/her answers will be recorded to elevate stress on the student. Next, the student will use context clues to draw predictions following with reading the passage orally with no support from the teacher. Students are advised before reading to try to sound out words or move on from the word. As the student reads, the teacher counts all of the miscues the student had. Miscues consist of omission of words or phrases, reversal of words, self correction, insertion of words into the text,

  • 28. Descriptive Essay About Going To The Beach It began with a blazing, crackling, smokey fire. Friends and family sat there with a glow from the fire upon us. All of us, Corbin, Charles, my Mom, my Aunt, and I, sat silently listening to a mixture of the fire, along with ocean. Knowing that the blazing sun would soon set, Corbin, Charles and I made the decision to go to the beach. The journey taken that evening led me to realize my sense of direction. Us three set out with one main objective. That main objective was to climb the rocks next to the crashing waves of the receding ocean tide. We left our chairs by the fire and began our journey with nothing but our phones. Beside our cabin was an old, dusty trail with a large amount of overgrowth. Pushing tree branches out of our way, passing byvarious flowers, shrubs, and trees, we made our way down the old warn down path and onto dirt road. We all assumed that road wouldn t be used due to the fact that it was beginning to be night. However, our thoughts were proven wrong by the moderately dirty truck with bright headlights shining upon us. We noticed the truck and scrambled to get to the side of the road. Once it had passed we continued towards the beach. Look at that sunset, proclaimed Charles. It was the moment when the sun cast a hazy red and orange across the horizon of the dark blue ocean. We made our way to the sandy beach. It was embedded with thousands of footprints from both visiting campers, as well as the snow white seagulls. We walked along the beach with the waves nearly get us wet, passing drift wood and heaps of seaweed. The only sounds heard were the crashing wave of the ocean and occasional cawing of seagulls. We had made it to the jagged rocks with very little daylight to spare. So much for the sunset, mumbled Cobin. I am willing to bet there will be one tomorrow, I chuckle. We each hoist ourselves onto the rocks and walk. We took note of the dim light casting over the dark ocean, which is visible as far as the eye can see. If barefoot, this massive rock can be very hard on your feet. We saw very little of the seagulls, and none of the hiding crabs. We had made it and there was silence. The full moon was a magnificent sight to be seen in combination with the

  • 31. Examples Of Racial Injustice In The NFL A major problem in the National Football League(NFL) today isn t occurring in the game itself, rather in the pre game National Anthem. Players are deciding to take a knee or even sit on the bench during the anthem as a form of protest. Free agent quarterback, Colin Kaepernick began the protest and has since, created a movement among many other players in the NFL; a movement that has caused a lot of controversy amidst United Statescitizens. Martin Luther King Jr. said in his letter from the Birmingham Jail, whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. I believe that this applies to this situation in that racial injustice has directly affected Kaepernick; Kaepernick then expressed his feelings by protesting the anthem before his games on national television. In doing so, he attracted the likes of other NFL athletes and viewers of the games to agree with him and join the protest. As more and more NFL players and coaches continue protesting the National Anthem by kneeling /sitting, they should take into account what exactly they are protesting, what does kneeling demonstrate, and what does standing for the flag mean? One important question that these players need to consider is what are they protesting? Kaepernick and others are protesting racial injustice, which is the idea that people are discriminated by race or ethnicity in voting, employment, housing, and administration of justice. On the other hand, the Pittsburgh Steelersmade a team decision, that they
  • 32. Sense Of Communication In Louise Mallard s The Story Of An... The Story of an Hour Rough Draft The Story of an Hour is a tragic tale of a woman named Louise Mallard. Her incapability to withstand sudden shock could be fatal. The news of her husband s passing was involuntarily pleasing to her ears. She was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to possess her...when she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under her breath: free, free, free! The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes...they stayed keen and bright (Chopin 1). Her renewed sense of freedom; a chance at a new beginning, sprung inspiration in her spirit. She did not hear the story as man women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to accept its significance (Chopin 1). As the sixty minutes of an altered judgement pass, it is swiftly suppressed as her husband stands safe, unharmed and well in the doorway of a new life. Mrs. Mallard could not endure the unanticipated prostration and perished without experiencing the reborn world she had hoped to enjoy. By analyzing Louise Mallard in The Story of an Hour , self assertion and lack of communication are recognized, but concludes that she should be analyzed as an ordinary human rather than a sample to be overdrawn over. Many arguments have been presented that Louise Mallard demonstrates distinct, selfish acts of self assertion. There has been, moreover, virtual critical agreement on what the story says: its heroine dies, ironically and tragically, just as she has been freed from a constructing marriage and has realized self assertion as the deepest element of her being (Berkove 1). In this article it proposes this quote, but thereafter it compromises the previous thought that Mrs. Mallard is ordinary. In agreement, she is just like any other woman in this world. The reader must take into an account that women should be secure in themselves before entering in a relationship. She did not depend her life on her husband. Mrs. Mallard was solely calm and reserved about the situation. Though the story did not express her religious beliefs, conclusions might be drawn that she was content knowing she would see him once again. In a

The way the Inspector operates may appear casual laid back and spontaneous but he has only one objective and he uses his single minded and calculating ways to get the results he wants. The divide had to come head when the controversial Scopes Monkey Trial began and new theories were explored which were then applied in modernist art, literature, and the way of thinking. His research left many to embrace the idea that there were no absolute standards or fixed points of reference in the world (Shi and Tindall 799) . What was once said that God created all was questioned with Einstein s research. People have always liked to put themselves in boxes, and divide people up by seemingly arbitrary concepts. Some of these divisions happen due to more physical traits, with the most prominent example being segregation based on racial differences, with certain ethnicities being concentrated in certain areas of the city. In a more modern setting, this can be seen in inner cities areas considered to be black neighborhoods , due to the large african americanpopulation. This type of segregation was commonplace during the early to mid 20th century, as racial segregation was still fairly common in most major cities. It was discriminatory, and oftentimes, these people lived in poor conditions. Cramped and subpar housing was not uncommon here, and the term ghetto was usually applied to these areas. While the term was originally used for a neighborhood consisting of a single ethnic group, a more negative connotation was applied to the term when used to describe black neighborhoods. This can also be used as an example of residential segregation, in which people are divided up based on social class , or the amount of wealth they have.
