This document outlines a research paper on the composition and origin of local boulders in Stony Brook, New York and their relation to past glaciations of Long Island. The paper will study and describe boulders found near Stony Brook University, research possible source areas such as the Long Island Sound and Connecticut, use the boulders as evidence to explain the glaciations of Long Island, and ultimately conclude on the theory of how the boulders came to be on Long Island and their general origin.
