The Outernet project aims to provide internet access to remote and censored areas of the world using a constellation of small CubeSat satellites. It will involve datacasting content to users via these satellites and ground receiving stations. The system will consist of 14 satellites in low equatorial orbit connected to ground stations, allowing clients with mobile devices to access information without censorship. If successful, Outernet could help connect billions of people and transform telecommunications, education, and access to information globally.
