We chose the film certificate 15 for 
our own film as after extensive 
audience research regarding scenes 
of a sexual reference the criteria of 
this specific certificate followed our 
initial ideas best. 
Our film will include aspects of the 
following 15 certificate features: 
- Strong language 
- Portrayals of sexual activity 
- Sexual nudity 
- Drug taking 
We know this is acceptable as our 
audience research suggests the target 
audience enjoy watching films that 
include these types of feature.
Although our film will not contain 
continuous strong language features 
will appear throughout. It is 
important to select the correct 
certificate for this behavior as we 
do not want to offend younger 
viewers. 
Due to the genre of our film the 
audience research showed the specific 
target audience were fine with sexual 
references throughout. The 15 
certificate allows for sexual nudity 
which is important as this will feature 
throughout as our film is of that 
nature.
At the beginning our film there is mild 
references to drugs having previously 
been taken. Although you never see 
these in use, in the mise-en-scene 
hard drugs are visible. The film doesn’t 
promote drug use for our audience.
