1. WHO WOULD BE THE
AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT?
2. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for our film are teenagers, aged 15 years and
above. They might be leaving school and wondering what to do next
and our film warns them of what could happen if they don’t get any
qualifications and don’t get a job.
It is not gender specific, which is why we used both male and female
characters so that both genders could relate to the film in some way.
It would be more suitable if our film was shown more at peak times ,
weekend or later at night as the target audience might have school or
work during the day which was taken in to account when deciding
when to distribute our film.
3. PRE-PRODUCTION RESEARCH
We researched in to films of a similar genre and found out that films
with drugs in usually had age ratings of 15 and above. A 15 rated film
is not allowed to promote the use of drugs which is why we decided
that our film should have this rating.
We also decided that our films should be distributed in cinemas and
then released on blu-ray and DVD.
4. HOW DID WE USE IT?
To find out what our target audience wanted we carried out
primary research. We did a questionnaire and asked people
around college to give us their feedback. We recorded the results
to make sure that they were accurate and so that we could use
the feedback to help us improve our film.
