1. Othello Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Othello" can present both challenges and rewards. On one
hand, the play is a masterpiece of Shakespearean tragedy, offering rich themes, complex
characters, and intricate plotlines. On the other hand, the depth and complexity of the play can
make it daunting to analyze and interpret effectively.
To begin with, understanding the nuances of the characters, particularly the tragic hero Othello,
requires a careful examination of his motivations, flaws, and the influences that lead to his
downfall. Delving into the psychological aspects of characters like Iago and Desdemona adds
another layer of complexity to the analysis. The relationships between characters, the themes of
jealousy, betrayal, and racism, and the socio-political context of the play must all be explored
and synthesized into a cohesive argument.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling thesis statement and organizing the essay's structure can be
challenging. Balancing the need for a clear and concise introduction with the complexity of the
play's themes, while ensuring a logical flow of ideas throughout the body of the essay, demands
careful planning and attention to detail.
Quoting relevant passages from the play to support arguments and incorporating scholarly
criticism adds an additional layer of difficulty. Analyzing and synthesizing these sources while
maintaining an original perspective can be time-consuming and intellectually demanding.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on "Othello" also offers the opportunity for personal
insight and critical thinking. Unraveling the layers of the play and offering a unique
interpretation can be immensely satisfying for the writer.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on "Othello" requires a combination of literary analysis, critical
thinking, and effective writing skills. It demands a deep understanding of the play's intricacies
and the ability to convey these insights in a coherent and persuasive manner. While the process
can be challenging, the rewards lie in the intellectual growth and satisfaction derived from
successfully navigating the complexities of one of Shakespeare's masterpieces.

proceeding will help you save time and get your bond at the best
3. Essay about The Roanoke Colony
The Roanoke colony was located on the Roanoke Island, in Dare County. This is
where North Carolina is located today. In 1584, explorers Philip Amadas and Arthur
Barlowe were the first Europeans to set view the island. They were sent to that
particular region by Sir Walter Raleigh with the assignment of exploring the extensive
sounds and estuaries in hunt of an ideal location for settlement. Barlowe wrote bright
information of Roanoke Island, and when the explorers returned to England a year
afterward with two Natives, Manteo and Wanchese, all of London was abuzz with

On April 27, 1584, Raleigh dispatched a journey led by Phillip Amadas and Arthur
Barlowe to search for the Eastern coast of North America. They arrived on Roanoke
Island on July 4, and almost immediately recognized relations with the local citizens,
the Sectoans and Croatans. Barlowe returned to England with two Croatans named
Manteo and Wanchese, who were able to explain the government and natural
features of the region to Raleigh. Based on this knowledge, Raleigh prepared a
second journey, to be led by Sir Richard Grenville.
Greenville s convoy departed Plymouth on April 9, 1585, with five major ships: the
Tiger (Grenville s), the Roebuck, the Red Lion, the Elizabeth, and the Dorothy.
Consequently, a harsh rainstorm off the shore of Portugal divided the Tiger from
the rest of the convoy. The captains had an unforeseen event plan if they were
divided, which was to get together up again in Puerto Rico, and the Tiger reached in
the Baye of Muskito (Guayanilla Bay) on May 11.
While anticipating for the additional ships, Grenville recognized relations with the
Spanish there while concurrently engaging in some privateering in opposition to
them, and also built a fort. The Elizabeth arrived almost immediately after the fort s
creation. Eventually, Grenville worn out off anticipating or the remaining ships, and
departed on June 7. The fort was discarded, and its site remains unknown.
When the Tiger sailed through Ocracoke Inlet on June 26,

5. Comparing The Twelve Tables And The Hebrew Law
Rome s Twelve Tables and the Hebrew law Although the Roman Twelve Tables and
the Hebrew law are both early code of laws they have many differences. The rights
of woman, slaves, and the punishments for a crime are all addressed in both code
laws but are treated differently. The Twelve Tables were invented by the Romans,
attempting to make a code of laws. A commission of men were to make a code of
laws that respected all citizens way of life in 450 B.C.E. It was designed for a
simple agricultural society and proved to be inadequate for later generations. The
Hebrew law was created in 18th century B.C.E. The laws are the codes Yahweh
wanted his chosen people to live by. The only way his children could fill the
covenant between them was to obey them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Twelve Tablets women are barely mentioned. In Rome there was many
rights men could have but women couldn t. The women shall not tear their faces
nor wail on account of the funeral (Table 10 Law 2.) This law stops woman from
crying excessively at a funeral or even tearing their faces but it says nothing of a
man tearing his face . The man of a family could choose to sell his wife and
daughter and choose life and death for his son. In the Hebrew law fathers and
mothers seem to be treated more like equals. In several laws it mentions the father
and the mother together unlike Rome. Whoever strikes father OR mother ... Whoever
curses father OR mother... (Law 60 and 61.) In the two laws above the father and
mother are stated as
6. Bullying And School Bullying
Hugues Sampasa Kanyinga, Paul Roumeliotis, and Hao Xu s (2014) study analyzed
the connection between students (7 12 grade students) being bullied through the use
of electronic communication and students bullied at school with three dependent
variables (ideation, planning, and attempt), also part of the purpose was to examine if
depression had any effect on either the independent or dependent variables. Sampasa
Kanyinga et al. investigated the hypothesis that cyberbullying and school bullying
increased the formation of ideas about suicide, planned strategies and the actual try to
commit suicide and how the last three dependent variables were influenced by
depression (p. 2).
The researchers conducted a cross sectional study with a population of students
who were in middle and high school in order to determine if there was a relation
between two different types of bullying with the three dependent variables
previously mentioned (ideation, planning, and attempt) and if depressive
behaviors were mediators of these relations. The sample of participants was
obtained from 49 out of 79 schools in the Eastern Ontario region in Canada that
were eligible to participate in the study. From the 49 schools, only two classes
from each grade were randomly selected. The data was obtained by surveying
students with the Eastern Ontario Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). The
survey contained questions related to the variables being studied and measured.
Besides the questions related to the issues being studied, the survey also included
questions based on covariates such as demography, consumption of liquor and
nicotine, drug use, and inactive physical activity. The completion of the surveys
was supervised by a school facilitator that was in charge of re reading questions
from the survey without causing or directing students to a specific answer. The
data collected from the surveys were reported in tables and analyzed with a 12.0
version of STATA. Descriptive statistics, chi square tests of significance, regression
analysis, Baron and Kenny s approach as well as the Sobel test were used to study
the information derived from the survey (Sampasa Kanyinga et al., 2014, p. 2 4).
After analyzing the collected data, researchers found
7. Utilitarianism In Industrial Experiment
Thought experiments are hypothetical situations, which we use to explore certain
concepts. In class, we used thought experiments to determine what a utilitarian would
do to gain the most satisfaction in a few life altering scenarios. Utilitarianism is not
a term coined for doing the right thing, but rather doing what maximizes the most
happiness. With this state of mind, the choices utilitarians make are not always
moral. Utilitarians are believers that mankind is better off if our interest goes
beyond our self but that doesn t necessarily entitle selflessness. In the trolley lever
experiment, there are five people tied to the train tracks on one side and one person
tied to the train tracks on the other the trolley is heading straight towards... Show

The experiment consisted of a utilitarian doctor with five patients about to expire if
they don t each get a vital transplant and a healthy patient who came in for a simple
operation. The doctor had the option to purposely kill the healthy patient and
donate their organs to the transplant patients thus saving their lives. Once again, the
utilitarian would choose majority over minority and kill a healthy man. The
decision the utilitarian makes are at odds with morality in multiple ways. you can
determine this by asking these questions pertaining to the experiment. First
question if it is right to break someone s trust? Second question if it is right to
commit a crime? Third question if it is right to kill someone? The answers to all of
these questions are no concerning moral standards. However, to a utilitarian, it
doesn t matter how you gain maximum happiness as long as it is obtained. Majority
of the experiments we did in class followed the same guidelines sacrificing the life
of one for the survival of the others. For a portion of the time, the one person who
usually ended up sacrificed was never placed in immediate harm beforehand. One of
the exceptions was the experiment of Jim and the

Hemangioma is the most common non cystic benign hepatic lesion. Depending on
imaging findings, hepatic hemangiomas can be categorized as typical and atypical.
Typical hemangiomas comprised of three distinct histological subtypes, including (i)
the cavernous hemangioma, (ii) the capillary hemangioma and (iii) the sclerosed

On T2 weighted images, the lesion is hyperintense with well defined margins, but the
intensity is less than that of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or a hepatic cyst. After
administration of gadolinium, the lesion shows peripheral nodular discontinuous
enhancement that progresses centripetally in the delayed phases. At diffusion
weighted imaging (DWI), hepatic hemangiomas are typically hyperintense even with
high b values because of slow blood flow and are hypointense on ADC map because
of restricted diffusion (1, 10, 11). The contrast kinetics in capillary hemangiomas is
similar to that of the CT, i.e. a uniform and rapid enhancement occurs (12). When an
arterioportal shunt is also present a transient perilesional enhancement is observed
(13). In sclerosed hemangiomas, the zones of central sclerosis appear hypointense
and the overall signal of the lesion is heterogeneous on T2 weighted images. After
administration of contrast material, a peripheral nodular enhancement develops and
progresses very slowly. An early transient perilesional enhancement is a classical
finding. Sometimes, sclerosed hemangiomas do not enhance at

The maximum water potential is nil; an example of which is within pure water
hence water molecules will flow from it to any other aqueous solution regardless of
how dilute it may be.
There are three possible concentrations of solution. The first, a hypertonic solution,
has a higher solute concentration than that of the cell and as a result the water will
leave the cell resulting in collapsed vacuoles in plant cells. A hypotonic solution,
however, has a lower solute concentration than the solute concentration inside the
cell and hence the net movement of water inside the cell is at its maximum. Whilst
an isotonic solution is when the concentration of solutes is the same inside the cell
as it is outside of the cell; in such as case the cell would not lose nor gain any water.
This state is otherwise recognized as dynamic Equilibrium where the molecules are
randomly distributed despite there still being a rapid net movement of water across
the cell membrane in both directions; water movement in opposing directions occur
at the same rate and thereby cancel each other out.
Larger differences between the concentrations or water potential of the solutions
results in a steeper concentration gradient, meaning a faster rate of osmosis. In effect
the concentration outside of any cell is proportional to

The Philosophical Evolution of Metaphysics: The Influence of Metaphysics on Poets
and How It Pertains to Today Society.
Imagine, the year is 2150 and a student is sitting at her desk looking within at latest
technology, she thinks about lost poets that history books have shunned for the
significance of more famous poets. As a child in modern society, the importance of
lesser known poets, such as Thomas Traherne and George Herbert, are considered
valuable for their philosophical influence in poetry. Over the course of time literature
has become a melting pot of ideas borrowed from other poets and literary works,
which are coagulated into one another to make a new idea. People in modern society
need to understand the importance of remembrance in the similarities in the
backgrounds, metaphysical influences, and written works of Thomas Traherne and
George Herbert.
It is astonishing how both poets have similar upbringings with almost a 100 year
gap between them. The background of Thomas Traherne presented by Richard
Firth has stated that Thomas Traherne was born within the wall of Hereford City
in 1637 (page 1). At the age of five, the British Civil War marched into his town
where they beheaded King Charles I. Later that year, Treharne left to attend the
Hereford Cathedral School. After graduation, he then attended Brasenose College in
Oxford, earning his BA (Bachelor of the Arts) in 1656. During the years of 1657
1660, he wrote his first complete work titled, Select
12. Administrative Chain Of Command Leadership Analysis
To determine the style of leadership used you need to take in consideration the task,
the group of individuals needed and the relations created within the group in order
to complete the task. In administrative chain of command, leadership is
multidimensional function due to the levels the organization, the variety of tasks
and general functions, and an abundant of situations requiring leaderships of some
kind. I think that generalizations cannot be drawn because the job of a leader in
any organizational setting is not is always changing. The needs of the groups being
led, is seldom the same from one situation to the next. Leaders who are liked and
respected by a group, have a clear vision of the task and who are in high position of
power
13. Difference Between Separation Of Powers And Federalism
One successful accomplishment of the Americans was the construction of the twin
pillars of American constitutionalism: federalism and the separation of powers. This
essay serves to discuss the similarities and differences between the rationales behind
the separation of powers and federalism. Both the separation of powersand federalism
divide power to prevent the accumulation of powers in one hand and to increase
citizen participation on the state and national levels. However, apart from the mere
division of powers, separation of powers further emphasizes on the division of the
functions of the three branches, namely the legislature, executive and judiciary. In
addition, separation of powers also has a distinct system of checks and balances....

According to Jefferson, The way to have a good and safe government is not to
trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to everyone exactly
the functions he is competent to (Jefferson, 1816). Federalism is the division of
power between the national and state governments. By having a federated
community, power is shared between the national and state government so that
one side does not overpower the other. This helps to preserve and enhance the self
governance and welfare of the particular communities (Kincaid, 1990, p. 71).
Similarly, separation of powers also divides power between the three branches.
Articles I, II and III were created to vest authority in the hands of the legislature,
executive and the judiciary respectively. The legislative body comprises of the
Congress, which includes the House of Representatives and Senate. The judicial
branch includes the Supreme Court and the executive branch comprises of the
President. Hence, the division of power based on the idea of separation of powers
and federalism helps to prevent consolidation of power in the form of a

because of it. However, he believed that it was his God given mission to free the

cause. Even though he might have had good intentions and ideas, he went about
abolishing slavery the wrong way.
John Brown was a radical abolitionist who believed in the violent overthrow of the
slavery system. (History.com Staff) He was born in Torrington, Connecticut, on

With such a young group, it would be huge for the Wolverines to get the junior

was at guard or on the defensive line. After playing well in limited action last year,

19. The Importance Of Chemical Communication
Chemical communication is the detection and recognition of chemical signals
released by other organisms. The chemicals that are released are known as info
chemicals and can be directed towards organisms of the same or different species.
Info chemicals can be detected by more than one species and the detection of info
chemicals is through olfactory and gustatory organs. The utilization of chemical
communication is vital to the survival of aquatic organisms due to the nature of the
medium which they are surrounded by; water. Over the past century, the rise in large
scale industrial activity such as mining and metal processing has leadto an explosion
in human productivity. However, the repercussion of this expansion is the disruption
of global habitats, resulting in the contamination of freshwater environments by
heavy metal pollutants. The level of pollution by heavy metals is further escalated by
factors such as acid rain which increase the erosion rate of metals thus leading to the
introduction of more heavy metal pollutants (Tchouwou et al. 2012). Heavy metals
are classified as metals that are significantly denser than water. Within this group of
heavy metals, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury are among the most
critical for their toxicity to a wide variety of organisms at low concentrations.
However heavy metals such as copper which are widely used in technological
appliances can also affect aquatic organisms. Furthermore, there are numerous studies
evidencing
20. Who Is The Protagonist In Invisible Man
After reading the first portion of Invisible Man, the scene that stood out the most to
me was when the narrator took Mr. Norton around the countryside. While there the
narrator introduced Mr. Norton to Jim Trueblood, who slept with his own daughter.
Trueblood mentions that white people have been giving him money and helping him
out more. Which is very strange because the college views him as disgusting and hate
him very much. The main characterdid not want Mr. Norton to see this and
immediately regretted taking him out. Norton almost seems to relate to Jim because
he describe his daughter as pure and beautiful. He also gives Jim one hundred dollars.
This greatly impacts the main character because he becomes very angry that Norton

Review: Rodrik, Dani (2006). Goodbye Washington Consensus, Hello Washington
Confusion? A Review of the World Bank s Economic Growth in the 1990s: Learning
from a Decade of Reform. Journal of Economic Literature
In the past two decades, the Washington Consensus approach codified by John
Williamson (1990) has been one of the most popular terms in the field of
development. Consisting lists of reform agenda, Washington Consensus used to be or
at least believed as a rule of thumb policy to improve economic growth in developing
countries. However, due to the undesired result, now the Washington Consensus have
reached its fallacy.
There are rising debates on what will replace the Washington Consensus and the
1990s: Learning from a Decade of Reform (2005, hereafter Learning from Reform)
published by the World Bankwas one of the most regarded document which

complement the approach through institutionalization and foreign aid. Dani Rodrik

the pre sumptive strategy of Washington Consensus and therefore he posits the
Growth Diagnostic Approach that he and his collegue developed.

22. Analysis Of The House Of The Scorpion By Nancy Farmer
In the story, The House of the Scorpion, written by Nancy Farmer, the main
character is Matt Alacran. The main setting is the empire of Opium. In the beginning
of the story, a scientist creates Matt with great caution and fear. The main problem or
conflict in the book is that Matt is a clone of El PatrГіn, the feared drug lord of
Opium. The solution is El PatrГіn dies and Matt runs away to AztlГЎn to stay safe.
At the end of the story Matt is now the leader of Opium and must take care of all of
El PatrГіn s duties since everyone died at his funeral. First of all, I think that El
PatrГіn is an evil, cruel, and selfish person because he thinks he s entitled, killed his
family and friends so he wasn t lonely in the afterlife, and created the eejits even
though he didn t want to take care of him. The text states, There were eight of us,
said El PatrГіn, and only I lived to grow up. Don t you think I m owed those lives?
This shows that El PatrГіn is selfish and thinks he is entitled to what he wants.

Farmer states, Even so, the ability to create music filled him with a joy to large to

channel his feelings which is what I do. Whenever I m sad I play sad music, and
when I m happy I play more upbeat music. In the story, it says, He did, however,
keep listening to Felicia s music. It was something that had gotten inside him, and no
matter how dangerous it was, he couldn t go long without hearing it. When Matt
listens to music, he gets lost in that feeling. When I start listening to music it s like
there is nothing else in the world going on around me. I get so caught up in the music
that sometimes i spend hours just listening to

1. What has Scout s experience of formal education (school) been like?
Formal education for Scout hasn t been very positive. She was excited for her first
day, but never wanted to go back afterwards, especially because she was yelled at
for knowing how to read. Since she was ahead of her peers, Scout found school quite
boring, and preferred her more informal education at home. 2. Provide 2 examples of
how she has been educated outside the classroom. Two examples of how Scout was
educated outside of the classroom are how Atticus taught her how to read and
Calpurnia taught her how to write.
3. In chapter 8 how was Jem perpetrated a near libel in the front yard? When
Maycomb has snow for the first time in a long time, Jem and Scout decide to build a
snowman, but since there isn t much snow, their creation looks much more like a
mud man. They decide that Mr.Avery looks sort of like a snowman, and model their
snowman to look almost exactly like him. When Atticus comes home he immediately
notices the resemblance and says that, You ve perpetrated a near libel in the front yard.

In the year 1979 many events happened. Queen released Don t Stop Me Now and
Mister Microphone was introduced to the public with a classic television
commercial. This commercial is considered one of the most effective television
ads even to this day. The ad increased sales so much that in 1981 a second Mister
Microphone was introduced. This ad is a nice example of four of the Jib Fowles s
15 appeals. These appeals explain the way advertisers try to, well, appeal to us to
convince us to buy their product. The Mister Microphone ad fits under the appeals
aesthetic, affiliation, attention, and prominence. Mister Microphone swept the nation
during the early 80 s. But why? Many link Mister Microphone s success to its
outstanding commercial. This commercial uses the 13th appeal, aesthetic appeal. The
aesthetic appeal displays what is appealing to gain attention from viewers. (546) This
commercial has tons of aesthetic properties related to the time period. These
displayed properties include youth, happiness, and even using the current pop culture

Movie Review of Stigmata
I m not a big movie watcher, in fact when I watch a movie, I rarely finish it.
However, there are just a few that I ve got to see. These usually include comedy, but
more often mystery. About two years ago I saw a preview for the movie Stigmata.
Before the previews I had never heard of stigmata, and even after this didn t know
what it was. My cousin explained what stigmata were to me, and then I wanted to
see the movie. Stigmata are defined as the plural of stigma; marks resembling the
wounds of the crucified body of Christ, said to be supernaturally impressed on the

27. Suicidal Gertrude In Hamlet
The possibility of a suicidal Gertrude is an intriguing one. One s first impression of
her is that of a slightly oblivious peacemaker, as she tries to console Hamlet out of
his grief in 1.2. But the regular lack of appreciation, or reciprocation, from Hamlet is
the source of a significant detriment to her throughout the play. Her son continually
casts her off and degrades her as a punishment for the mere thought of her being
sexual. (Any textual reason for him to even think of her and Claudius in that context
is debatable, as all conversations with them are tame and merely mildly affectionate.)
Gertrude evidently becomes aware of why Hamlet is upset fairly quickly, slightly
dispelling the earlier notion of cluelessness. ( I doubt it is no other but the main, his

When boomer demand slams into the market place, prices soar (until the fad
passes). Nothing stops the baby boomer. There is somewhat of a bright side to all
the spending and boomer traffic. Being just a few steps ahead of the boomer can
make an individual very well off if you know which way they are headed. Boomers
have always acted this way. Still the largest generation in the United States has been

On his watch, the Fed has also had to purchase mortgage securities as well as
government debt in an effort to revive the housing market and promote spending
by Americans (Aversa, 2011). Another effort to promote spending by consumers
was a payroll tax cut called for by Bernanke along with buying up $600 billion in
bonds through an open market operation. When the Federal Open Market
Committee (FOMC) wants to increase the money supply, they buy up government
bonds from the public on the bonds markets (Mankiw, 2009). The result of buying
bonds puts money in the pockets of the public, if the Fed wants to decrease the
money supply, they sell off bonds. It is generally thought that when the public has
more money available to them, they will consume more. This increased
consumption should lead to an overall increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
and expansion of the economy. GDP is the market value of all final goods and
services produced within a country in a given period of time. GDP is basically the
measure of a nation s total income and is an important tool in explaining a single
society s economic well being (Mankiw, 2009). To some extent that was the case,
consumption did increase for a short period of time after the Fed s Quantitative
Easing (QE). 2010 and the first half of 2011, saw some good

31. Silence In Iris Murdoch s Under The Net
In Iris Murdoch s book Under the Net there are several allusions to the theme of
silence. Through these allusions to silence Murdock presents the idea that in
silence truth is found. The first portion of this essay will focus on the clearest
example of this theme: the relationship and the contrast between Hugo and Jake.
Secondly, this paper will look at Jake s discovery of his own voice. Finally this
paper will look at and address the strongest critique to the idea of silence presented
in this essay. Hugo sums up the idea of silence when he tells Jake in chapter 18 that
For most of us, for almost all of us, truth can be attained, if at all, only in silence. It
is in silence that the human spirit touches the divine. This idea that knowledge
comes from the silent is portrayed in the relationship between Hugo and Jake,
especially in the writing of Jake s book, The Silencer. The title of this book even
alludes to silence but the strongest argument for the attainment of truth through
silence is through the fact that though the book was written by Jake all of the ideas
came from Hugo. This reflects Murdock s idea of silence because the substance of the

This is seen in his writings that are all translations of other authors ideas, while his
only published work came from Hugo. Murdock ties this lack of original thought
to a lack of silence by having Jake throughout the story erratically move from place
to place and idea to idea. It is only when Jake moves back to Dave s apartment that
he begins to find his own voice by deciding to work on an original writing. He finds
his voice through isolation and the order provided by consistent work of an orderly
and living alone in his room. Murdoch uses this change from Jake s earlier chaotic
lifestyle to show that to find some truth of oneself one must first slow their lives to a
state of
32. Use Of Eloquent Dictation Is Far More Powerful Than
Actions
The use of eloquent dictation is far more powerful than actions. In both versions of
Medea, Medea produces meaningful speeches. The spoken word is emphasized in
both versions resulting in a great deal of thought behind each discussion. Usage of
cunning tactics is used in order to acquire the response she wants from her audience.
In fact, she is constantly changing the way she addresses her crowd in order to
persuade them into acting the way she wants them to. However, the Norton version,
adds more detail and thought behind all of her speeches. Meanwhile, Jeffers
adaptation focuses on conversation and the way that they affect the characters. In the
two versions of Medea, the authors put an emphasis on speechbecause Medeauses
different speeches in order to sway her audience into believing what she wants them
to in order to achieve her goal of manipulation.
While both versions care for speech more than actions, the Norton version puts a
bigger emphasis on it. When speaking, Medea is exceedingly deliberate in getting
the response she craves. Women of Corinth, I have stepped outside so you will not

in an ill manner. She clearly concocts a scheme, in order for the women to not

1. Communication
Buchanan and Huczynski (2010) note that many managers do not pay attention to
communication when implementing change, which may increase employee
absenteeism, turnover and low productivity. Furthermore, some of the reasons for
employees increased expectation during the change process are availability of
information through the internet as well as employees anticipation to contribute
ideas and be kept informed. If these expectations are met, employees feel valued and
therefore are more likely to be committed to the company and perform better at their
work.
Aramanda wanted to be supportive of a certain degree of open communication
culture, which was manifested by a requirement for the employees to nominate their
colleagues for newly created job posts. This approach was also constructed to
represent Aramanda s interests and to manipulate employee attitudes and behaviours.
The nomination process aimed to take advantage of knowledge in the network or
informal skills that perhaps could have been difficult to be evaluated by an outsider.
The outcome however proved to be different than anticipated, as it created a negative
feeling amongst the employees. Furthermore, one of the reasons for hiring
consultants in the first place was to take advantage of their impartiality and
independence from office politics.
Insufficient communication was also evident in Phase

There was a time when the Ku Klux Klan took over the Republican Party and

1932 until it was disempowered by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.. After the election of
1924, the governor Clarence Morley the mayor of Denver, Benjamin Stapleton, and
U.S. Senator Rice Means were all Klansmen. Also, the state s House of

burned crosses in small towns throughout the state, from Great Plains through the

other towns and cities surrendered to the Klan, only one major city escaped:

members conducted a campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and
black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation

It is unimaginable to think that, in a world of such connection, there is so little
meaning, says Jean Baudrillard, a respected French philosopher that, throughout the
1980s, critiqued what today we call globalization. Globalization, reduced to its
ideological foundation, is the process by which increasing communicative
technologies, like the Internet, have made our world smaller. In essence, our
communities, cultures, and lifestyles have become drastically linked. But, as
questions surface about the connections of our era of rapid globalizationto
sovereignty, economic independence, and cultural uniqueness, we must understand
that the question of globalization is not merely one of economics or sociology, but a
broader social process of liberalism that is dooming the planet to certain ecological
devastation.
The given perspectives of said topic are, curtly, reductive. They address valid
arguments, but seem to refuse with the root cause such cultural diffusion and
adaptation. Quite frankly, globalism isn t new. It very much is a huge social process,
but nothing that humanity is inexperienced with addressing. This ad hominem logic
is truant in Perspective Three, which attempts to connect social contact with
increasing risks of future conflict. However, xenophobic, reductive reasoning cannot
connect how cultural diffusion historically has proved Perspective Three wrong. For
instance, we can evaluate the contact between Germanic barbarians and Roman
soldiers in the 3rd
39. Elasticity Of Demand And Supply
Elasticity of Demand and Supply
INTRODUCTION:
Elasticity : In Economics, how responsive an economic variable is to a change in
another is the measurement of elasticity. It is an unit free measure. By using
Elasticities, we can measure the two markets of price and quantity. The difference
among markets can be quantified by the economist using elasticities without the
measurement of the units. It is the responsiveness of one variable (demand or
supply) to a change in another (e.g. cost). This idea is basic to appreciating how
advertises function. The most widely recognized versatilities utilized incorporate
value flexibility of interest, value flexibility of supply, cross value flexibility of
interest and pay flexibility of interest.
The Equation of Elasticity is = % of change in quantity / % of change in price.
Elasticity of Demand :
Elasticity of Demand also referred to as Price Elasticity of Demand in Economic
measures is based on the effect of how the quantity demanded is changed when
there is change in the price. With respect to price it is the quantity demanded
responsiveness degree. For example lets consider a case in the below figure, where
there is elastic demand when the curve is almost flat. You can see that, the quantity
decreases a lot if there is a change in price from $.75 to $1. There can be many
reasons for this On the off chance that demand is extremely inelastic, then vast
changes in cost won t do particularly to the amount requested. For example,
40. Essay On Columbine Shooting
On the morning of April 20, 1999 Adolf Hitler s birthday two students entered
Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, with as many guns and pipe bombs
as they could carry. The original plan was to plant bombs in the cafeteria to drive
teachers and students to the parking lot, and from there they would shoot as many
people as they could. More explosives would be detonated once police and
ambulances arrived. But the first set of bombs failed to explode. So instead, Eric
Harris and Dylan Kleboldsimply wandered their way around school grounds,
gunning down whoever was unfortunate enough to cross their path. In less than an
hour, the two teens killed twelve students and a teacher. More than twenty others
were also wounded. The onslaught ended when Harris and Klebold turned the
guns on themselves in the library. Dylan Klebold grew up in an upper middle class
family and was a kid few would have expected to carry out such an attack. His
father was a geophysicist and also ran a successful mortgage business, and his
mother worked with the disabled (Dylan Klebold Biography, 2015). The kid was
smart and participated in a gifted student program. He was shy, loved baseball, and
enjoyed being a soundman for school theater productions. Because of this, Klebold
didn t mesh well with Columbine s dominant jock clique.... Show more content on

This theory states that sources of strain including failure to achieve goals, lack of
positive stimuli, and the presence of negative stimuli can lead to feelings of
disappointment, depression, frustration, anger, and fear (South University, 2015b).
Such feelings can build up over time, eventually leading to a release of those
negativities by way of causing harm to others. Klebold and Harris certainly did face
plenty of negative experiences during their high school experience, and they could
have viewed their inability to fit in as a failure on their
41. Social Boundaries
As a result of this, hierarchies or other patterns of cooperation within the boundaries
comes into existence. In extreme cases, different boundaries are merged together,
thus replacing independent, already existing ones. During their advancement
processes, a number of controversies confront the social boundaries. For instance,
they can be obstructed such that their existence and progress becomes endangered.
This usually happens when interaction fails to take place in a given group. Tilly
claimed this to be a major problem, since it becomes almost impossible and
complicated to know when the barriers become open, and allow free interactions to
take place (Tilly 2005: 7, 32). Secondly, he warned that sometimes it becomes
unclear to detect when the boundaries lose their importance and values. This
uncertainty state about the tight closeness between confinements and the society
members can be confusing, since one can never know how deep the bound is and a
slight mistake can be the origin of complex difficulties in the society. Tilly clarifies
the doubts becomes easier to understand when people are unified after being divided
either through wars, conflicts and attacks (Tilly 2005: 213 229).... Show more content

However, Tilly, though he agreed to Barth s idea that the social boundaries should be
fully reseachered on and understood, since the constant shifts that takes place in them
can be compared to strong forces that enable boundaries to change their original forms
and status. Although Tilly warns that being in a position to comprehend the boundary
construction systems is not an easy task, due to the regular change thatoccurs to
them. This adjustments are noted when certain situation of circumstances challenge
the social confinements (Tilly 2007:
42. Levi s Strauss And Co Essay
Levi s Strauss Co
Two years after his father s passing, Levi Strauss immigrated from Buttenheim,
Bavaria to New York with his sisters in 1848. His two older brothers owned a dry
goods business called J. Strauss Brother Co located in New York City. After
becoming more familiar with the trade and how the business worked, he traveled to
California after word got out about the gold rush in 1853. Levi wanted to keep up
with the demand, so where there were people looking for their fortune through gold,
he was there making pants for them and the people who worked in tougher conditions.
Levi received a letter around 1872 from a loyal customer of his. Jacob Davis was a
tailor from Reno, Nevada loved his design of pants and continued to buy from Levi
because of the pant s quality. He had a proposition for Levi. In this letter it
proposed on collaborating on a new design for pants were using metal rivets on the
sections that go through the most strain, would make the pants last much longer.
Jacob came to Levi because Levi was already established as a businessman and was
familiar with the trade. Also he needed someone that was familiar with the trade to
put this idea into action. Levi agreed to patent the idea. On May 20, 1873, the patent
was given to Jacob Davis and the Levi Strauss Company and the blue jean was born.
The iconic blue jeans were originally called XX. In 1886, Levi had a two horse logo
branded onto a leather patch which represented the strength
43. Essay about The Lincoln Assassination
John Wilkes Booth, born May 10, 1838, was an actor who performed throughout
the country in many plays. He was the lead in some of William Shakespeare s most
famous works. Additionally, he was a racist and Southern sympathizer during the
Civil War. He hated Abraham Lincoln who represented everything Booth was
against. Booth blamed Lincoln for all the South s ills. He wanted revenge. In late
summer of 1864 Booth began developing plans to kidnap Lincoln, take him to
Richmond (the Confederate capital), and hold him in return for Confederate
prisoners of war. By January, 1865, Booth had organized a group of co conspirators
that included Samuel Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt, Lewis Powell (also
called Lewis Paine or Payne), George... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He held one final meeting with his co conspirators. He said he would kill Lincoln
at the theatre (he had since learned that Grant had left town). Atzerodt was to kill
Vice President Andrew Johnson at the Kirkwood House where Johnson resided.
Powell was assigned to kill Secretary of State William Seward. Herold would
accompany Powell. All attacks were to take place simultaneously at approximately
10:15 P.M. that night. Booth hoped the resulting chaos and weakness in the
government would lead to a comeback for the South. The Presidential party arrived
at Ford s at about 8:30 P.M. Armed with a single shot derringer and a hunting knife,
Booth arrived at Ford s at about 9:30 P.M. Joseph Burroughs, a boy who worked at
the theatre, held his horse in the rear alley. Booth went next door to a saloon for a
drink. He entered the front of Ford s Theatre around 10:07 P.M. Slowly he made
his way toward the State Box where the Lincolns were sitting with Clara Harris and
Henry Rathbone. Lincoln s bodyguard, John Parker of the Metropolitan Police
Force, had left his post. At about 10:15 P.M. Booth opened the door to the State Box,
shot Lincoln in the back of the head at near point blank range, and struggled with
Rathbone. Booth stabbed Rathbone in the arm and jumped approximately 11 feet to
the stage below. When he hit the floor he
44. Analysis Of The Temple Of Hera
The Early Classical Greek Temple of Hera II from Paestum, Italy, built circa 460
BCE, has influenced many works, such as the Carolingian Palatine Chapel built by
Odo of Metz in Aachen, Germany from 792 805 BCE under command of the
patron, Charlemagne. The Second Temple of Hera is one of the most studied
Greek temples since it is in such good condition and has so much to offer historians.
The Palatine Chapel, highly inspired by ancient Greek architectural design, was
closely supervised by Charlemagne as his personal project, and built by Odo of Metz.
The Temple of HeraII and the Palatine Chapel are similar due to the influence ancient
Greek works had on later European art, such as the Carolingian period. Art from these
periods influenced the important aspects of art seen today. Religion was a huge
motivator for both of these periods, and held deep emotional connections for many
artists. I find this to be somewhat relatable, since I also need emotional attachment as
a motivator to complete my artwork sometimes. These designs resemble those of
today in the amount of effort and forethought put into planning and building them,
however, the complexity of these older religious structures lies in the artistic and
visual nature of the building, rather than the efficiency related accomodations one
would observe today. This demonstrates the metamorphosis of human priorities over
the centuries. Both of the images to be discussed (Temple of Hera II and Palatine
Chapel) speak to the
45. Robertson Davies Fifth Business Essay
Robertson Davies Fifth Business
In the novel Fifth Business , the author Robertson Davies is successfully able to
relate both the themes of magic and religion throughout. He achieves this relationship
between the themes primarily through the characters and their actions. Dunstan
Ramsay, Paul Dempster, Mary Dempster and Liselotte Vitzliputzli all help to
illustrate the close relationship between magic and religion.
One of the characters that Davies uses to relate the theme of magic and religion is
Dunstable Ramsay. Dunny was brought up in a Scottish Presbyterian family in
Deptford, Ontario. While in the war, he kept himself busy by reading the New
Testament and states Arabian Nightsand the Bible were getting pretty close , ... Show

Along with the idea of magic, Eisengrim?s show Soiree of Illusions incorporated
themes of myth including Dream of Midas, Vision of Dr. Faustand the Brazen Head
of Friar Bacon and wants himself and his illusions ?to be marveled at?. Eisengrim is
later subject of a false autobiography written by Dunstan where Eisengrim is
portrayed as a wonderful and mysterious person like a saint is. Here the relationship
between magic and religion is evident.
Mary Dempster, who is named after a saint can be considered to be a saint in this
novel. She is the mother of a famous magician and the wife of a priest. This freely
displays the relationship between magic and religion. According to Dunstan, she is
considered a fool saint because she performed three miracles, but without being
aware of it. The first involved the rebirth of Surgeoner by an act of charity. The
second was the revival of Willie from the dead and the third was her miraculous
appearance to Dunstan during the war at Passchendaele.
Liselotte Vitzliputzli otherwise known as Lisel is introduced midway through the
novel, but still plays an important element in the theme of magic and religion. The
theme of religion is demonstrated when she asks Dunstan ??do you know what my
name really means?? Lisel?s last name is the demons name in the play The Vision of
Dr. Fautus where Faust was a magician who sold his soul to the devil. During a fight
between Lisel and Dunstan, Dustan twists her
