Othello Essays On Jealousy
Writing an essay on the theme of jealousy in Othello can present a challenging yet intellectually
stimulating task. Exploring the intricate layers of emotions, character dynamics, and societal
influences depicted in Shakespeare's play requires a deep understanding of the text, its historical
context, and the nuances of human psychology. Jealousy, as a central theme, demands a
meticulous analysis of how it shapes the characters, influences their actions, and contributes to
the overall tragic trajectory of the play.
Crafting a compelling essay involves delving into the complexities of each character's
jealousy—Othello's tragic downfall fueled by Iago's manipulation, Desdemona's innocence
tainted by unfounded suspicions, and the destructive consequences that unfold. The challenge
lies in interpreting Shakespeare's language, deciphering subtle nuances, and presenting a
cohesive argument that unveils the psychological depths of jealousy as portrayed in Othello.
Furthermore, a successful essay requires the incorporation of critical perspectives, scholarly
analysis, and a nuanced understanding of the cultural and historical context in which the play
was written. The task is not only to convey personal interpretations but also to engage with
existing scholarly discourse, demonstrating a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter.
In navigating the complexity of Othello and jealousy, one must carefully structure the essay,
seamlessly integrating textual evidence, critical viewpoints, and personal insights. The ability to
articulate a coherent thesis, provide insightful analysis, and draw meaningful connections
between jealousy and the broader themes of the play is crucial.
Despite the challenges, the process of writing such an essay can be immensely rewarding. It
offers an opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, deepen one's appreciation for
Shakespearean literature, and explore the enduring relevance of themes like jealousy in the
human experience.

Honor Killings Research Paper
An honor killing is an epitomized murder committed against a woman for actual or
perceived immoral behavior that is deemed to have breached the honor code of a
household or community. It is the perpetrators belief that the victim has brought
shame or dishonor upon the family name or societal standard. These so called
honor codes are the product of condoning deep seated patriarchal societal and ethnic
injustices, where women are compelled to assume all responsibility for upholding
the morality of an entire culture. It is the most extreme case of gender based
violence. Honor killings are the ultimate sanction against women who are deemed to
have offended the collective morality of a group. Typical behaviors or suspicion of

himself with an ax, stabbed her lover to death, and struck Gul 15 times. A passerby
found Gul laying in her blood and parts of her brain hanging out of her skull. The
passerby quickly rushed Gul to a hospital with little chance of her survival. She
went into surgery and miraculously came out alive. However, Gul had nowhere to

was dead to her family. She stayed in the clinic for two months due to the generosity
of the doctors who donated money to pay for her. Now, she lives in a sanctuary with

Why Does Sport Matter
Why Sport Matters
Why does sport matter? Sport can do a lot of different things for everyone. It can
provide entertainment, excitement, community, wonder, dreams and a good lifestyle.
Throughout history, sport has had some incredible moments, especially in Australia
and Australians. Moments like Steven Bradbury coming from last to first, Western
Bulldogs against all the odds win the AFL Grand Final against the highly backed
Sydney Swans.
The definition of sport is an activity that is active, competitive, demanding and fun.
Sport can be to some people a way of life others a hobby. As Australians, we are
known for our passion for any sport from cricket to footy to tennis. There is nothing
more what all Aussies love our home grown heroes.
Adam Scott is a perfect example of the way golf isn t the biggest or most supported
sport in Australia however when Scott won the US Masters carrying an injured
back, he had become the first Australian in 80 years to win the US Masters. He was
quick to be one of Australia s favourites and golf attracted more attention from the
wider Australian public. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Virtual Worlds Can Be Used To Enhance Learning and Education
Virtual worlds have solved many of the challenges faced by educational institutions.
Today, hundreds of colleges, universities and other learning organizations are either
augmenting their current traditional classroom curriculum with a virtual learning
component or are holding classes and entire programs exclusively in immersive
learning environments in Second Life. Second Life s persistent virtual environments
give students an opportunity to work together synchronously and then return,
individually or as a team. The learning space is always equally available, for
geographically dispersed groups as well as for those who meet regularly in the
physical world. This is especially useful when students require more flexible
schedules or need to work asynchronously on the same project.
Second Life amplifies learning beyond capabilities afforded by teleconference calls
and web presentation tools. It also creates an avenue for field trips inside virtual
organs, machines and other environments that go far beyond the limits of traditional
learning spaces. Training simulations are also incredibly powerful in Second Life
because they simulate complex, processes in the physical world and avatars can take
on different roles to enhance learning.

Woodrow Wilson s 14 point plan Essay example
A devastating war had left much of Europe in ruin and smoke, but a task almost as
difficult as the war was still ahead for the allies, devising a treaty. President
Woodrow Wilson had come up with a fourteen point plan, which he proposed to the
allied leaders of France, Italy, and Britain. Although this plan was eventually voted
down by the senate, and never passed, several key points were put into the treaty that
was accepted by the senate.
The first point on Wilson s 14 point plan was that nations should not have any secret
treaties or alliances with other nations. This is an important point in the plan, because
if it were followed through with it could possibly prevent many wars afterwards.
That is, of course, if the nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fourth point on Wilsons plan was the reducing of armies of all nations to a bare
minimum. This did not go over well at all. No nation wanted to be told by the United
States that it had to reduce its army. This point was tied to Americas participation in
the war because America could significantly reduce its army and still be safe. It had
2 oceans to protect it, unlike every other nation, especially those in Europe. This was
another point to basically put America on top, and secure its rank as the number one
nation in the world
Wilsons fifth point was open mindedness in the discussion of colonial claims. This
is basically saying that all nations should be willing to give up some of their
colonial claims. I think this is one of the most ridiculous points on Wilsons plan.
Wars start because of colonial claims. World War II was started because of land
claims. However, I do not think that this point was related to the United States
participation in the war, because the United States had no interest in acquire any new
land at the time, and did not have much of a large colonial holding. I think this point
applies mainly to Britain, which had many colonies.
Point s 6 through 13 all had to deal with new nations being created and borders of
existing nations being modified. I don t think that these points had anything to do
with the United States participation in the war, because these borders needed to be
modified and many nations

conveys semen. Penis is the male genital organ of higher vertebrates, carrying the
duct for the transfer of sperm during copulation. Glans is the head of a penis. A shaft
is the cylindrical part of the penis between the scrotum and head. Seminiferous
tubules is any of the numerous long convoluted tubules in the testis which are the
sites where spermatozoa mature. Seminal vesicles is each of a pair of glands that

audi s style could be described as a mix of Art Nouveau and his own unique organic
style, which was influenced by shapes and structures from the natural world. One of
Gaudi s most impressive and beautiful buildings is Casa BatllГі. GaudГ designed the
building for Josep BatllГі, a wealthy aristocrat, as an upmarket home. He had asked
Gaudi to tear down the old one to reconstruct a new one. GaudГ managed to convince
BattlГі to remodel the existing building instead of tearing it down, and between
1904 and 1906 he redesigned the facade and roof, added an extra floor and
completely remodeled the interior. This building clearly illustrated Gaudi s work.

This work of Gaudi I believe is a clear example of an Artist s vision. Gaudi
incorporated his creativeness into a building produced a concrete example of his
vision. To me it feels like this building you might see in Disneyland, but here it is on
a normal street of Barcelona erected amongst other buildings. Yet it questions our
imagination. The curves, the colour scheme that is used, the use of bones, it is
simply captivating! This is what Gaudi s work is about to create an impact on its
viewers. I really appreciate this work of his because he created something completely
different, something out of the ordinary.
Another one of Gaudi s famous work is the Sagrada Familia. Though it is unfinished
it is still on of the famous attractions in Barcelona. Whilst the building was actually
started by Francisco de Paula Villar, It was Antonio Gaudi who took over in 1884 by
finishing the underground crypt that Villar had begun to give Sagrada Familia a
unique twist and a revolutionary design. Gaudi incorporates his religious side into
this building.
The church was designed to have a total length of 110 m, and a height of 45 m,
with twelve towers between 100 and 115 m high. The ground plan is a Gothic
basilical plan in the shape of a Latin cross, with five naves connecting with a transept
that connects to three naves, apse, and ambulatory. The rest of the church is

The Basel Committee On Banking Supervision
The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has developed a regulatory capital
framework for operational risk measurement and introduced three approaches: the
Basic Indicator Approach (BIA), the Standardized Approach (SA) and the Advanced
Measurement Approach (AMA).The identification and measurement of operational
riskcan be viewed as following either the top down approach or the bottom up
approach depending on the method used to calculate the risk charge. In the top down
approach, the financial data is extracted from the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
statement. This method may not result in the proper capturing of risks nor does it
help in risk mitigation. This approach corresponds with the Basic Indicator Approach
and the Standardized Approach of Basel IIAccord. The third approach of the Accord
i.e. Advanced Measurement Approach, is consistent with bottom up approach in
which the regulatory capital requirement will be defined by the estimate generated by
the internal operational risk measurement system (Rajeev, 2004).
The Basic Indicator Approach (BIA)
The BIA is the simplest of the three approaches to calculate operational risk capital
charge. This approach uses a single indicator i.e. gross income as a proxy for a
bank s overall operational risk exposure. The bank is required to measure the
average positive gross income over the previous three years. The years with negative
gross income are excluded. The gross income is computed as net interest income plus

Mitochondrial DNA
GENOMIC AND MITOCHONDRIAL DNA IN FORENSIC DENTISTRY
The genomic DNA is found in the nucleus of each cell in the human body and
represents a DNA source for most forensic applications. The teeth are an excellent
source of genomic DNA because PCR analyses allow comparing the collected
postmortem samples to known antemortem samples or parental DNA. Mitochondrial
DNA is another type of material that can be used for body identification. Its main
advantage is the high number of copies per cell (from hundreds to thousands of
organelles). When the extracted DNA samples are too small or degraded, such as
those obtained from skeletonized tissues, the likelihood of obtaining a DNA profile
from mitochondrial DNA is higher than that with any marker found ... Show more

In forensic samples, the study of DNA (genomic and mitochondrial) is usually
performed by STR (short tandem repeats) analysis, which can be defined as
hypervariable regions of DNA that present consecutive repetitions of fragments that
have 2 to 7 base pairs (bp). The VNTR (variable number of tandem repeats) testing,
which may present short repeated sequences of intermediate size (15 to 65 base
pairs), is rarely used in forensic analyses due to the poor quality DNA provided with
this method. The most valuable STRs for human identification are those that present
greater polymorphism (greater number of alleles), smaller size (in base pairs), higher
frequency of heterozygotes (higher than 90%) and low frequency of mutations11.
CAREFUL HANDLING OF SAMPLES, DNA EXTRACTION AND PCR
AMPLIFICATION
As observed, several protocols are used for DNA extraction and analysis, and there is
no standard methodology. Therefore, researchers must carefully evaluate the
conditions of the material to be examined, especially when dealing with forensic
cases, in which there is a greater risk of sample contamination and influence of
environmental factors, in addition to a small amount of material available in most
situations. The PCR technique has

Legalizing Steroids Is Dangerous
Legalizing steroids is dangerous because they are not controllable. Steroids are
becoming popular, but no one is stopping to take a look at all the facts about the
use of them. Remy an avid steroid user who regrets using steroids suggests, There is
no controlled way to use steroids (Campbell 3). Everyone s bodies react different to
what steroids can do. Some more dangerous than others. Controlling steroiduse is
impossible because everyone uses different amounts and even a little can be
dangerous. Harrison Pope a professor of psychiatry at Harvard s McLean Hospital
says, The preliminary data on steroids suggest that long term use damages the
muscle of the heart, significantly increasing the risk of an attack (Butterworth 2). A
continued use of steroids would do damage not only on the heart but the whole body
as well. Heart damage is very likely while using steroids. Views of the opposition
suggest that they are not worried about the un controlling factors. Tim Cowlishaw a
sports writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazettestates, I think if we made everything
legal, we would learn eventually which drugs and creams, and heaven forbid, antler
sprays actually have benefits and what their risks are (Cowlishaw 1). If society made
steroids legal, controlling amounts would not be imaginable. Anyone could get their
hands on it, which could lead to over use and endangerment of human health.
Legalizing steroids represents cheating in all sports across the nation. There will

At the most basic division, there are three main levels of governments in the United
States; The Federal level, the State level, and the Local level. Each of these levels has
their own legitimacy, their own authority/jurisdiction and most of the time has their
own way wo working with or around the other levels though there is sometimes
clashes. Let s start with Legitimacy first. The Constitution of the United States of
America is the overarching document that gives legitimacy and the authority to
govern to the various governments in the U.S, but specifically the Federal government
. States in the United States also have their own constitutions that they draw
legitimacy and authority from as well as specific regulations. The Constitution also

thought the 14th amendment opened the floodgates on authority for the Federal
government. But in a generalized sense, The federal government acts mostly in the
areas of foreign policy, national defense and any endeavors that cross state
jurisdictions in the U.S, particularly interstate commerce. State governments focus
mostly on directly providing for and regulating goods and services within their state,
along with distributing federal grant money and transferring money to local services.
Local governments almost exclusively provide goods and services within their
jurisdiction and utilize funds from both the federal and state levels. As per the U.S.
Constitution the Federal government has the authority to; Lay and collect taxes,
provide for the common defence, provide for the general welfare, borrow money,
regulate commerce with foreign nations, Indian tribes, and between states, establish
rules of Naturalization, coin money, constitute tribunals to the supreme court,
establish post offices and post roads, deal with

The Idea Of Nationalism And The Indigo Planting Mirror
Introduction on The idea of nationalism in the colonial world in Deenabandhu Mitra s
Neel Darpan
Neel Darpan; or The Indigo Planting Mirror is a Bengali play written by Dinabandhu
Mitra in 1858 1859. The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of
February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields
as a protest against exploitative farming under the British Raj.
The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the
neel darpan (the indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this
play it reflects the social, political and economic situations affected by the tyranny of
the indigo planters which exploits the Indian peasants.
The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and
Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the
peasants were not only unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote
this play to raise a voice against the indigo planters, jamindars and British officials.
Gradually the message spread all around and the voices of the peasants became the
voice of the masses against the imperialism. This play s central theme is the
exploitation of
My Communication Skills Of My Life And How They Have
Been...
Being able to communicate is a great skill that one can practice every day of our
lives. There are several ways or types of communication skills I have learned in this
course such as vocally, written, visually, or non verbally. In this assignment, I am
going to write about my communication skills in three periods of my life and how
they have been developed. First, I would like to talk about how I was when I was a
little. When I was about five or six years old, I was spoiled between my family just
like most of the other kids. However, outside my house I can describe myself as a
shy and quiet girl that I sometimes in school I have been bullied by other students.
When I was five years old my dad enrolled me and my half brother who is as my
age in a kindergarten school. I was always with my brother and I felt safe around
him, but when we become at the seventh age, my dad couldn t have enrolled us in
the same school because he was told that I was born at the last days of November
and they would accept me in the school with the next generation. Therefore, my dad
decided that I am going to a private schoolso that I can be with my generation.
At the first day of school I was afraid to be alone without having my brother around
me. I just hated that school because I was just by myself, and my classmates were
not nice to me at all. The boys and some girls were very mean and like to be
bullying for example, they always take my stuff and refused to return them back
when I ask them to,

China a strong nation. As a result, he created the big movement of the Chinese

steel, coal and iron production , according to Chinaand the First Five Year Plan by
the history learning site. From 1958 to 1960, Mao Zedongcreated the great leap
forward to create economic development. In the process, there was a great famine

peasants were ordered away from agriculture. Therefore, to become successful with

He trained in law at the Inner Temple in London and then in South Africa, as an
expatriate lawyer, he first employed nonviolent civil disobedience. In 1915, he
organized farmers, peasants and urban laborers to protest against discrimination
and excessive land tax. In 1921, Gandhi led campaigns by assuming leadership of
the Indian National Congress, for ending untouchability, easing poverty, building
religious and ethnic amity, and expanding women s rights. Unlike Mao who used
violence, to get what he wanted for China, Mahatma Gandhi promoted non
violence as a way to get what he wanted for his country India. He led civil
disobedience. For instance in How Gandhi Changed The World by Heather
Whipps, it is stated that Gandhi s non cooperation movement, kicked off in the
early 1920s, called for Indians to boycott British goods and traditions and become
self reliant. He protested in 1930, when Gandhi led thousands of Indians on a 250
mile march to a coastal town to produce salt, on which the British had a monopoly.
He was arrested several times for his action and he had to struggle a lot because of

Introduction
Satellite communication is undoubtedly ingrained into many facets of our global
society. It provides an ability to relay voice communications of family members
across the globe or transmit data from field locations to headquarters located across
oceans. It has fundamentally changed how we communicate and share data with each
other over long distances.
Electronic communications have grown exponentially over the last one hundred
years with a major push in the last few decades. The biggest challenge for long
distance communications specifically on a global scale comes in two parts, 1. the
curvature of the earth adds complexity to over the horizon communications, and 2.
due to the sheer size of the earth, the ability to provide complete global coverage.
The longest a transmission could be made in the late 1800s was from Chicago to
New York, mainly due to the loss of signal as it traveled over the long network of
cables. Once Michael I. Pupin invented the loading coal, an electromagnetic device
that could add power to a signal, a transmission could make it from New York to
Denver. It wasn t until 1951 when Bell Systems first started direct dial long distance
communications. It was clear that getting a signal to travel via
Pros And Cons Of Linux
INTRODUCTION WHAT IS OPERATING SYSTEM The operating system is the
most important program that runs on a computer system.. Every general purpose
computer must have an operating system to run other programs and application.
Computer operating systems perform very basic tasks, such as recognizing input
from the keyboard, sending output to the screen keeping track of files and
directories on the disk, and controlling peripheral devices such as printers. For large
systems, the operating system has even greater responsibilities and powers. It is like
a traffic cop it makes sure that different programs and users running at the same time
do not interfere with each other. The operating system is also responsible for security,
ensuring that unauthorized users do not access the system.... Show more content on

Command lines only accept textual commands that must be typed by hand, and
are often too complicated for novice users. PROS OF LINUX 1.Price: Linux is F R
E E. You can download it, install it, use it, modify it. 2.Variety: Linux is not a full
operating system. It is just a kernel. To use the kernel, additional software needs to
be bundled with Linux. Several hundreds of these bundles (called distributions )
exist. The most popular ones include Mint and 3.Fedora. The good thing is, with
so many different variety of Linux, there is always one to suit your needs
4.Viruses: Although being more vulnerable to viruses than Mac (because it is open
source), Linux still has very, very, very few viruses CONS OF LINUX
1.Complicated: Although some distributions are quite easy to use, most of them
will required a good deal of computer knowledge in order to get them to work.
2.Compatibility: Like Mac, representing only a few percents of the market share,
Linux does not have as many programs and games as
A Brief Note On The Remote Systems Administration
Introduction: in order to have local business enterprise that on the smaller size
there needs to be a consultant that can provide the company to associate with the
employees that are new. One decent approach to this would be simply setting up a
system in order to get a lot more use out of your PCs and peripherals. This is
especially true for the small and home business clients. To share a solitary
broadband, we have the Systems permit that goes through with the Internet
association among different PCs and PC clients. These clients find themselves
being able to share documents amongst personal computers easily and effortlessly.
With Systems administration we see that permits one to utilize a printer that is
associated with an alternate PC, and to be able to access assets that are different
and media. An example of this would be music and pictures that are remotely put
away within the workplace environment. The Remote systems administration
allows for you to have a more appealing and ostensibly office environment that is
secure that contain little links hanging around. It can give one a lot more
adaptability when it comes to finding your IT unit, and you can utilize your
portable PC from any place in your office. It can also permit you to give your
guests some remote web access or hot work area offices. With this Ethernet based
wired systems administration can even now have the edge over remote hardware in
being more dependable, lower cost and offering quicker association
Family Dynamics Of Military Brats
The Family Dynamics of a Military Brat
Many are accustomed the term Military Brat as a derogatory label towards a child
of an active or retired military service member. As Military Brats they understand
that there is no time to forge bonds with people. Brats are forced to combine a
lifetime of memories into just a few years, before they pack up everything to be
transported to a different state or to a different country. Fully expected to learn a
new language if needed, adjust to a culture faster than most would want; all of
which at an unrealistic speed in the eyes of the regular world. Most attending 5 or
more schools in less than 12 years, constantly the new kid in class. Forced time and
time again to start over, all the while never once complaining; as it was a way of life
for them. The constant reminder to join the Armed Forces, with no time to make
friends, they only had acquaintances with no time to form worthwhile bonds. But
truthfully, the bonds formed by military brats alike, are unstoppable. In the short time
that they had together, they were forged from blood, sweat, and tears, and built to
withstand the passages of time. The family dynamics that military brats are
accustomed to are for more different than so called normal families, what families go
through cannot be comprehended by the outside world.
Depending on which branch the child s parent is in, their experience with how the
child would interact with there parent/parents. Even though most military parents
Asian American Population And Asian Americans
The Asian American population is a major facet of American life; beginning their
lives as immigrants they have worked their way to become integral members of
society. In 2010 there were 14.7 million Asian Americans living in the United States
and in 2011 that number increased to 18.2 million.1 Culturally, Asian American
people
have traditions and beliefs that contradict those of the Western world.2 Culture molds
people s values, attitudes, and beliefs; influences their perceptions of self and others;
and determines the way they experience their environment. 10 As a result there are
certain barriers that exist when communicating with Asian Americans due to their
cultural background. Additionally, Asians living in America suffer from the Model
Minority Myth, which typecasts these people as being financially and educationally
well off in comparison to other ethnic groups.2 Due to this Asian Americans aren t
considered more at risk for many health risks compared to other ethnicities; cultural
and physical barriers act as a hindrance to Asian Americans receiving healthcare
services, primarily mental health related services.
According to Spencer et al. Asian Americans often stigmatize mental health. As a
result many individuals forgo taking advantage of mental health services because it
promotes cultural feelings of shame or embarrassment.2 The article analyzed the
connection between discrimination and the usage of mental health services on a
national sample of Asian Americans.
Negative Effects Of Hip Hop
Music is a large part of life, it is important to America s culture and identity. Music
can produce a negative effect on behavior and susceptible audiences, leading to
aggressive behavior in many of America s youth. There have been many debates
over hip hop and its influence on the youth community in America. Some people
believe that it has a negative impact while others feel that it does not account for
any change in youth society. How does music and human behavior correspond?
What are the negative and positive effects that hip hop has towards America s
youth community?. Hip Hop is among the top 5 most played genres. The oral
creativity the performer uses to generate a certain simile, metaphor, language and
rhyme. Hip hop and poetry share the same methods that expedite into the youth
culture to grow companionship throughout the audience. Many devotees have
agreed critical thinking about the society is encouraged by hip hop. Hip hop is
being used as an instructional tool by many instructors to employ it for teaching
grammar, mathematics, and the periodic table. The developing hip hop started in
Bronx New York. The evolution of hip hop continues to expand to our present day.
It has become a movement and culture that began 30 to 40 years ago. Kool Herc
(DJ) is known as being a founder of hip hop in 1967 when he made his first gig at
his sister s birthday party. Alterations within the culture have taken the originality to a
whole new level with technology taking its jump and commercialism overrunning the
music industry. (Palvic, 2006) The four elements condition (social, economic,
cultural and political) reflects the youth community allowing them to listen in a way
they can relate or portray society. The Black Arts Movements, Black Power, Civil
Rights, New Negro Renaissance, Blues and Jazz are all phenomena that can draw all
similar artistic movements such as hip hop. Rapping, graffiti art, breakdancing, and
disc jockeying are considered to be among the four elements that wrap around hip
hop. Ever since hip hop appeared in the Bronx, hip hop has incorporated a style of
language, dress and dialect and a way of looking at the world. (Alridge and James,
2005)The relationship between human behavior and music is
Greek Media Influence
Media Influence in Ancient and Modern Times Media has near complete control
over social attitudes, and constructs how people perceive each other as well as
themselves. Things have not changed since the original Doryphoros of Polykelitos
and the Knidian Aphrodite of Praxiteles were created. Both were constructed during
times in which statues that were commissioned and displayed to the public were awe
inspiring as well as subtly influencing how the viewers see the world. These iconic
statues have been analyzed by scholars for centuries, slowly picking apart every detail
in an attempt to understand how the ancient Greeks constructed and controlled the
behavior of citizens. In their appearance and context, the Doryphoros and Knidian
Aphrodite both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Revealing Aphrodite, Nigel Spivey describes the nude Knidian Aphrodite of
Praxiteles and its cultural legacy in the understanding of societal expectations of
ancient Greek women. Respected women were depicted fully clothes, adorned
with jewelry and sometimes presenting an offering to the gods. Only sex workers,
typically slaves or the educated hetairai/courtesans, and at times certain goddesses,
appeared nude in art, but these representations did not convey the same power as
the Doryphoros does for men. The common theme amongst all the depictions of
women in art, is the passivity of their nature. For instance, the Knidian Aphrodite
catches the goddess in a moment of vulnerability. Her shoulders are hunched, hand
covering her genetalia in an attempt at modesty and her passive posture does not
inspire as much as the Doryphoros. The Knidian Aphrodite s body language does
not yield as much power or control to onlookers as the Doryphoros, but is meant to
entice and distract as women are said to do. Spivey suggests this is due to the
stigma against women embodying Aphrodite, goddess of love and desire, and
taking on the roles patroned by Demeter, goddess of the harvest and motherhood
(Spivey, 177). The juxtaposition of these goddesses speaks to how it is up to women
to, in a sense, bring themselves up by straying away
Justice Is Served In Agatha Christie s Murder On The...
Someone has committed a crime that affects an entire group of people, personally;
when the person is put on trial, the jury comes to the grand decision that the
criminal will not get the punishment they very well deserve. The subject has been
one of debate for years. Clearly, Agatha Christie s, Murder on the Orient Express,
displays that justice should always be served, as seen by her characters, even if jurys
are unable to do it themselves. Accordingly, justice is served by the character of
Mary Debenham. Debenham seemingly had something already in mind when she
said, When it s over. When it s behind us (Christie 10). To explain, Mary is involved
in the murderof Ratchett because a jury let him get away with murder. Due to the jury
letting Ratchett get away with murder, Mary Debenham seems to think little of
Rachett s death. Specifically,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this in mind, she was not distressed at all, because justice had been served.
Accordingly, Mary Debenham knows the true identity of Ratchett. For instance,
when Miss Debenham said, Do you know who the man Ratchett really was... Mrs.
Hubbard has been telling everyone (Christie 136). With this in mind, she knows who
he really is since he is her target for justice. Clearly, Christie believes that all
criminals should be punished. All things considered, Colonel Arbuthnot served justice
with his own personal motives in mind. Moreover, when the colonel is being
questioned, he defends Mary Debenham when he says, I can assure you that Miss
Debenham could not possibly be implicated. You feel warmly in the matter...
Arbuthnot gave him a cold stare. I really don t know what you mean (Christie 116).

Blue Trail Narrative
When I first set out for the Blue Trail I did not know what to expect. I ve been on
several trails before that were infested with overgrowth and never found them
amusing, so what s so special about this one?
Finding the trail wasn t particularly difficult, since I knew the campus from its
sustainable farm to the music building overlooking its own lawn and pond; however,
once I got there I was surprised. Right on the edge of the road, the forest had muses
all around to draw inspiration from. I found myself transfixed by every little squirrel
that would not run away from me, since I was in their world and not the other way
around. Surrounded by an ocean of orange pine leaves, I wondered how much longer
until fall would come and transform everything.
THUNK. I tripped on several tree roots throughout the path and realized I was out of
my element. There wasn t that much human activity there either, besides the
whooshing sound of cars passing the road nearby or the lone blonde girl that sat
along the path. Of course, I avoided talking to other people during my walk because
that would ruin the time for self contemplation. Though, I must admit that I was
distracted all around by the tree stumps, beer bottles, spiders, gnats, and rocks on the
path. But, despite seeing the red barns and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Deere quarterly sales analysis Essay
TO: JB Penn, Chief Economist, Deere Co.
FROM:
DATE: 29 October 2014
SUBJECT: Quarterly sales analysis
Following an analysis of sales data between 1995 and 2012, it is recommended that
that Deere and Co. incorporate the seasonal indicator variables model to forecast
future sales. In the regression analysis for this model it was determined that it was
able to explain approximately
90% of the variability in past sales. Adjustments to this forecasting model can be
made by incorporating overall economic climate projections, long term weather
forecasts, and commodity market futures.
As evidenced in the sales plot, from January 31, 1995 through July 31, 2014 John
Deere has enjoyed steady sales growth with seasonal peaks recorded at end of ...

State Championship Persuasive Speech
Gazing up toward the stands in hopes that his mother will somehow telekinetically
instruct him what to do next, their freshman star is trembling out of hopelessness.
Their Jedi brainwave connection clearly failed; it looks as though he will have to
handle this on his own. There is no question that he has been in plenty of high
pressure situations like this before. The responsibility of being the #1 player on a
state championship contending team as a freshman does not come without a wealth
of skill, experience, and knowing this kid s history, plenty of cheating. But I doubt he
ever expected to be in this kind of situation today. At first glance, he and his
teammates should have had nothing to worry about as they face off in the state

As I sat there in a motionless position similar to that of the Thinker, I was reminded
of the fundamental lesson of sports: There is no substitute for winning. People
today often accept a misconception to about the value of losing. Losing sucks;
there is no sugarcoating it. When an individual completely invests oneself to
achieve a goal, anything other than victory can only be considered a failure. Once
we realized our opportunity to reach, and in our minds likely win, the state
championship, our whole season seemed like the rising action in preparation for a
deflating anticlimax. We didn t have to accept failure, but we had to accept the
fact that we had failed. I had to accept the fact that I had failed. Somehow, there is a
bitter form of beauty in that dedication to a goal, but even more, in the
perseverance to continue. Sports often puts another commonly accepted
misconception to rest: that we should forget about our failures. Regardless of its
outcome, that fateful match had been the best performance of our team of the
entire season. Although yes, we fell short of our goal and failed, it would be a
disgrace to act like the whole ordeal was all a waste. In the coming days as that
match played over and over in my head like the numerous reruns on the Saved by the
Bell channel (I have been consistently assured of its existence), I realized the extent
to which I had grown as
Operation Beyond The Horizon
In recent studies and readings of wars, I would agree with the definition of
Insurgency for JP 3 24 and FM 3 24.2. I want to focus on the definition part that
says to overthrow, force, weaken, or change a government. This is crucial in
defining why I support the term insurgency and what it means. In 2013, I was part
of Operation Beyond the Horizon (BTH). This is a civil military mission, which
included humanitarian and civic support. In addition, it provides medical, dental,
and engineering assistance by Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves. This is
when I first knew about the country of El Salvador and the tragedy it had suffered.
This concrete experience has given me the opportunity and real world experience to
first hand see what insurgency can do to a Country. Even twenty years later, going in
to rebuild schools, provide medical outposts, and repair infrastructures, it is evident
that insurgency and its effects are still seen today. What follows is the brief history
of insurgency in the Country of El Salvador.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

government. From 1979 to 1980 the El Salvadoran Army acted on these actions
which brought on violence, fighting and death to tens of thousands of people in

The Importance Of Gender Pronouns
Introduce the issue
Gender pronouns are an ever growing issue in our world, developing into an
exceptionally hot
topic in today s society. There are some citizens out there who prefer the use of non
binary pronouns
such as they/their instead of him/her, because they feel as though their gender should
not be assumed.
Even though some people may not agree with banning gender pronouns, it would
protect transgender
and other non binary people from discrimination, expand the possibilities for gender
identity and
expression, and reduce the impact that gender has on our educational system.
Explain why it is compelling to you
Gender pronouns make me curious because most humans do not have to worry about
harassment due to their gender or how they portray themselves. This is bothersome to
me because we
are all human beings and in my opinion, deserve the same rights as everyone else.
There are many
obstacles that trans and non binary people have to face, such as harassment,
discrimination, and they
may not get the same opportunities within the job market or colleges because of their
personal gender
choices. A national Transgender Discrimination Survey showed that 26% of trans
people lost their jobs
due to bias, 50% were harassed on the job, 20% were evicted or denied housing, and
78% of trans
students were harassed or assaulted (Transequality.org. 2017.) From the web article

As Geospatial Satellite Sensors progress over time they become a more valuable
asset to the intelligence community and are playing a bigger role in today s
ongoing missions. The IKONOS 2 Satellite Sensor played a role in developing the
impact that the Geospatial Satellite Sensors have today and will continue to in the
future. What follows is a more in depth look at the IKONOS 2 capabilities, pros and
cons of how it would best support the GEOINT mission, and an example of how it
would shape, guide, or influence the success of a mission.
IKONOS 2 Satellite Sensor began as an idea by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space

commercial remote sensing satellite system comprised of two satellites ( IKONOS

The Episode I Thought Was Most Interesting
The one episode I thought was most interesting was when the class first started and
they were talking about compound words. When Mrs. Detreick went to the front of
the class room the students got silent really fast. She then turned on the smart board
and pulled up a worksheet. When they were going over the worksheet she would have
the student come up to the board and their responsibility was to write what the
compoundwordwould be. After they got done with the worksheet she told the
students to take out their iPads and go to socrative. They played a game that they
had to decide whether the word was a compound word or not, this put a little
competition into the learning. After they played a few rounds of that the teacher
hand out cards that had one part of the word and they have to find the other student
with the word completing your word. Once you find your partner you will see a
number on the top of your card and you will go to the spot in the room that matches
your number that will be your group.
3. So What
During the first episode in question 2 Mrs. Detreick does a great job of connecting
the InTASC teaching standard #3 Learning environment. The first way she shows
this is by putting the worksheet on the smart board that way everyone can see it. She
then has students come up to the board and solve the problem of connecting the
compound words. She saw in her class that they respond well with repetition and
being involved. The second way she demonstrates this is by having
Reflection On Chickens
As I was creating my chicken documentary, I delved deeper into the egg industry s
hidden world. Essentially, this project sparked an interest in the different egg
titles, which lead me to seek out more humane lifestyles for these hens. Sadly,
some (people) hold this (animal treatment) on a basis of divine revelation the other
animals were put here for human kind to use as they see fit while others deny that
animals have the kind of subjectivity or experience that could give rise to a moral
duty or obligation on our party (Thompson). For humans, it is easy to view chickens
as inferior and boring; however, my project contradicts this assumption. The ten
chickens I filmed demonstrated unique characteristics, complex reasoning and future
planning, and pure joy whilst roaming freely. Therefore, the battery cage farms are
archaic and cruel environments that further support animal cruelty. According to
Brian Ahmed, an Australian battery chicken farmer, chickens in battery cages, that
is, small wire cages, exist in a cleaner environment where disease and parasite rates
are lower. So, they don t fall ill and actually face less fatal risks. In fact, battery
chicken s morality rate decreases to 1%. This provides the world with plentiful and
affordable eggs (Davey). Superficially, battery cages appear humane. However,
chickens contain cognitive, emotional, and behavior complexities that the battery
cages destroy (Friedrich). As previously stated, a battery cages are small wire
Synesthesia Theory
Synesthesia is a mysterious occurrence that varies amongst each individual who
experiences synesthesia symptoms. In order to have a full comprehension of what
synesthesia is, one must be aware that there are many different forms, stages, and
theories that help explain synesthesia. According to Simner (2010), over 150 different
manifestations of synesthesiahave been discovered (e.g. Certain types of sound may
trigger colors, or types of sound may trigger tastes). (p. 558). Although, there are
many types of variations, there is no criteria or specific diagnostic that ultimately
determines the difference between each characteristic of synesthesia. However, there
are two forms of synesthesia that are most common. Some synesthetes in

In this case, taking methamphetamine, lysergic acid diethyl amide, also known as
LSD, and other hallucinogenic drugs, can cause synesthetic like experiences. (14).
Because the disinhibitory feedback theory states there is no neuronal distinction in
the brain between a non synesthete and a synesthete, a non synesthete has the
potential to experience synesthetic like symptoms while being under the influence of
a drug. But unlike genuine synesthesia, that is constantly experienced, drug induced
synesthesia is temporary. Cross activation theory is not relative to drug induced
synesthesia because these individuals do not have an increase in communication

Movement and Stasis in the Divine Comedy Essay
Movement and Stasis : The use of dynamics in the Divine Comedy
Movement is a crucial theme of the Divine Comedy. From the outset, we are
confronted with the physicality of the lost Dante, wandering in the perilous dark
wood. His movement within the strange place is confused and faltering; `Io non so
ben ridir com io v entrai . Moreover, it is clear that the physical distress he is
experiencing is the visible manifestation of the mental anguish the poet is
suffering. The allegory of the image is one of mid life crisis, but it is physically
represented by the man losing his way in a dark wood. Such an observation may
seem far too simple and obvious to be worthy of comment. However, I would argue

The first passage is probably the most famous in the whole work, that of Francesca da
Rimini, in Canto V of the Inferno . Condemned for her inconstancy, that is to say her
lust, Francesca is contained in the eternal whirlwind of the `bufera infernale ,
alongside her lover, Paolo. In a clear parallel to her sin, she is buffeted by the
inconstant wind. Although unceasing, the wind changes direction and force, a
movement which is mirrored by the language used to describe it:
Di qua, di l #224;, di gi #249;, di su li mena;
nulla speranza li conforta mai,
non che di posa, ma minor pena.
(43 45, Canto V, Inf.)
In addition to the basic rhyme of the terza rima, the internal rhyme is carefully
manipulated to imitate phonologically the swirling of the wind. By balancing the
repeated [a] of `di qua, di la with the [u:] of the `di gi #249;, di su , Dante is able to
mimic the up and down movement of the air.
Francesca, then, is an extremely `mobile sinner. Although pausing to speak to Dante
(the significance of which will be later discussed), she is compelled to move
indeed, it is an integral part of her punishment. This compulsion is significant.
Through rejecting a life of constancy on earth, whether willingly or otherwise,
Francesca has sacrificed the free will she was allowed to exert on her body. Having
lost control of herself in life she is plunged into the chaos of the `bufera . Her
punishment then, is not merely an
Straw Man Fallacy Essay
Every day people want to convince others that their ideas are the right ones. People
will engage in arguments to try to prove their claims with reasoning. However,
many times, the individuals reasoning behind their claims are faulty and
erroneously tries to prove their claims. Such type of reasoning is called a fallacy.
One particular type of fallacy is called the Straw Man fallacy. In a Straw Man
fallacy, a proponent intentionally misrepresents the opponent s argument to facilitate
the process of discrediting it. Analogously, it is much easier to defeat an individual
made of straw than it is to defeat one made of flesh and blood (Copi, 113). In similar
fashion, in a Straw Man, the proponent will use morally questionable and unfair...

He distorted Clinton s stance on immigration to discredit her. Clinton later
confirmed that she was in fact referring to commerce of goods and energy, not to
letting people freely into the country. Although Clinton has differing views on the
issue of immigration from Trump, she has not claimed she favors the entrance
illegal immigrants into the country, instead, she favors an immigration reform for
those illegal immigrants already in the country, especially if they have been in the
country since they were a child (Immigration Reform). According to the detailed
immigration reform page on her website, Clinton is actually in favor of enforcing
immigration laws, as long as they reasonable and humane (Immigration Reform).
The use of the Straw Man fallacy may only do more harm to the proponent. In
Trump s case, there is a risk that his listeners will recognize the unfair distortion of
Clinton s claim (Copi, 113). They could also recognize his argument as fallacious.
And by recognizing the fallacy, people could question his fitness as a presidential
candidate, given that there is a high level of seriousness attached to a president s
behavior.
By committing the Straw Man fallacy, Trump is less likely to win an
argument against his opponent. In order to
How I Begin As A Head Teacher
Episode Four Headship
In this section I provide an account of how I begin as a head teacher and how I take
the lead in a pilot developing integrated services in partnership with the local
authority. I reflect on the compromises I had to make after the school was
identified as a school eligible for National Challenge (NC) funding . As previously,
I consider my identity, I also step aside to consider performitivity , a concept I
believe changed the identity of leaders (as league tables were published) and capable
of changing the identity of leaders in the future. In the illustration below I have
continued to develop further my action research representation from page 83. As my

I had little doubt by the way I was approached that they identified me as their head
teacher but at this stage I did not. I still identified, maybe not as a deputy head
teacher as the zone work had moved me on from that position, but certainly not as a
head teacher. I was going to have to reconstruct myself very quickly into this new
role.
There was no time to consider leadership in the first week or even describe it as a
phase of learning but I am of no doubt that it was. The demands and expectations of
being a head teacher moved with momentous speed. The shift from each leadership
role came with differing decision making responsibilities but this was different. I
had not reaslised the reach of decisions made by head teachers each and every day. I
was so struck by the range that I made a point of recording in my journal some of
what they were and how I felt about my first week. This is what I wrote:
It is an odd feeling I have. People want to meet me as though I am important but I
am not I am just me. I wonder will they be disappointed when they find this out. I
don t appear to have anything really to do I am sure this will change. I have made so
many decisions I wonder if I should have. Very few of the decisions link directly to
achievement or maybe they all do. I think I will be happy here but next week I need

The Leadership Styles of General Robert E. Lee and
General...
The leadership styles of General Robert E. Lee and General Grant during the Civil
War. Ulysses S. Grant was not as well known at the start of the Civil War as Robert
E. Lee but proved to be just as valuable during the war. As a soldier, Grant believed,
When in doubt, fight. And he did fight. He won fame for demanding unconditional
(complete) surrender from the Southern commanders he was fighting. In fact, people
in the North began saying Grant s initials, U.S., stood for Unconditional Surrender.
In battle, Grant was tough and hard. He was not a retreating man. Soon Grant was
made a general. He became a leading figure of the war in the West. In 1863 he
captured the city of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He starved the city into surrender.... Show

As a rule, West Point trained generals held citizen soldiers and officers in low
regard. Not Lee; he understood those whom he led, he appreciated their sacrifices
for what they believed in, and adapted his leadership to suit them. The Army of
Northern Virginia was a collection of citizen soldiers from the various Confederate
states, not a professional army of career soldiers. Southerners of the nineteenth
century, and indeed most Americans at the time, held intensely local sympathies;
loyalties to community and state were usually more important than conceptions of
American patriotism. Grant perceived one strategic imperative: A focus on the
enemy s armies through maneuver and offensive action. Lincoln agreed with
Grant in this respect, but he also operated under a second strategic imperative.
Faced with this opposition, Grant used dialogue and negotiation to get his
essential point across where his predecessors had failed. Grant did this by
employing integrative, or collaborative, bargaining, an approach that uses shared
interests and cooperation to arrive at a satisfactory outcome. Grant and Lincoln
agreed on the end result they desired, and they really did agree on the overall
approach just not on the specific question of a line of operation. Grant was able to
convince Lincoln of the soundness of his overall plan, and as a result, he got much
of it implemented. Grant was at his best as a strategic leader because he
The Music That Have Changed The Face Of Music
Growing up, Beethoven was a household name. Countless studies have been released
claiming classical music could increase babies intelligence. The importance of music
is vast and affects every individual in a multitude of ways. Throughout the course of
history, there have been artist that have changed the face of music as we know it.
Two important composers to the course of music s history are Ludwig van Beethoven
and Franz Liszt. While both composers certainly have similarities in their music, there
are also multiple differences that separate them as completely different artists.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born around December 16th in 1770 in the city of
Bonn. His father, Johann van Beethoven was a singer and terrible alcoholic. He
was locked in a cellar, flogged, and made to practice for hours upon hours. He was
also beaten for any mistakes made while playing piano. Beethoven s father hoped he
would be a musical child prodigy just like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. When
Beethoven turned the age of ten, he dropped out of school to pursue studying music
full time. When his father s health began to decay due to his alcoholism, Beethoven
began to work in order to support his family. He worked as an Assistant Court
Organist. Ludwig van Beethoven was sent to Vienna to study music further, but
returned home when his mother became ill. Beethoven s earliest piece was titled
Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II and was written after the death of
Emperor Joseph II. In 1792 Beethoven
Examples Of Applying The Growth Mindset In Schoolwork
The fourth grade was a very traumatic year for me. My only sister went to middle
school, my mom who always was at home across the street from school got a job,
and I didn t know one person in my class. For the first time in my life I was on my
own and I was frightened even by the idea of it. During that year my grades
dropped and I wasn t social with my classmates. I started to fail in my favorite
class, math. The work became pointless to me and I started to neglect my work.
One day, after I failed another one of those math tests, my teacher asked to talk to
me after class. Due to the already annoying grade I had received, my teacher punished
me with a detention. Confusion and frustration flooded my body and I just wanted to
give up. But,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Students who don t apply themselves to their school work won t be able to adapt to
school as it increasingly becomes more difficult. Throughout my life, I ve had both
fixed and growth mindset, but after reading Dweck s Mindset, I have learned about
how I can apply the growth mindset into my life and improve myself all around. My
mindset is all about how much I want to apply myself. If I put my all into everything,
I can do nothing but grow into an astonishing human being. Applying the growth
mindset into relationships by being more forbearing with people. Being open to
different business strategies and merging ideas together or to simply have faith in
yourself when things go wrong. Mindset is all about how much you want something

Bibl 104 Worldview Letter
Hi Dear Doug I am so glad that you send me a letter, I hope that my answers are
helpful for you. First of all, worldview relates to the purposes of God. God created
the world for a specific purpose as a place for mankind to exist. Is a perspective, a
hypothesis of the world, utilized for living as a part of the world. A world
perspective is a mental model of reality a structure of thoughts and demeanors
about the world, ourselves, and life, an exhaustive arrangement of conviction. We
should study worldview because that help us to discover how God works in the
world, to better understand the Bible and how to apply it to your life. Also we
should study varieties of world views to learn how to difference between good and
evil. Not just because
Run In The Light Analysis
In today s society, we feel as though trivial hardships seem like enormous obstacles
that prevent us from prevailing in life. Humans in the twenty first century believe
as though the hindrances we encounter are far worse than those of our ancestors. In
this sense, we become a tad oblivious to our own history. We have become so
accustomed to resources being readily available for us that we never question how
the first Americans, who did not have the kinds of resources we have today, created
a proficient civilization. The Paleoindians, also referred to as the Clovis People were
one of the first inhabitants of the American continents. This historic migration
occurred towards the end of the last Ice Agebetween 10,000 40,000 years ago. The

The way Mr. Ware describes his emotions towards the characters, in the beginning,
was exactly how I felt. Runs In the Light is an underestimated individual who we
want to see succeed right from the beginning of this novel. Raven Hunter isn t
necessarily evil but as Ware has said he was selfish compared to his brother. Many
of the questions in this review were similar to ones I had while reading. I agree
that this novel has a more modern tone to it as the novel could have incorporated
the time period more. However, I disagree with how Ware said that the pacing of
this novel was excellent. As I read the book, I felt as though the middle portion
dragged on and the details could have been written in a more intriguing manner. This
novel had a potential to be really interesting but in the middle, it dies down losing the
reader s attention and focus. Nevertheless, I do agree with Ware s statement on the
characters names. While I do understand that the authors chose such names to
incorporate a pre historic impression, the names made the novel incredibly difficult
to follow. I repeatedly got a couple of the supporting character confused. In addition, I
agree with Christopher Ware upon the fact of becoming attached to the characters.
Throughout the novel, I was always rooting for the antagonist and hoping to see a
certain group succeed and sympathized with others. Another review I looked over
Meaning Of Freedom In America
Freedom has been discussed for a while now and yet no one can agree it exists.
The conflict over the meaning of freedom continues to exist from the civil war,
throughout the sixties. The Civil War was fought over the question of what
freedom means in America, for us in this present date to have freedom is being
able to enter any public place whenever you want without being told you cannot
enter, also not having to worry if you are going to be arrested if you enter the wrong
restroom or don t give up your seat to a white person. For more than a century African
Americans demanded and fought for freedom; progressive freedom. African American
wanted equality that gave them voting rights, civil rights, education and public
health. Some of the most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of their methods were: nonviolence, direct action, boycotts, such as the
successful Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 56, and civil resistance. A great
example of the nonviolent method initiated by Martin Luther King Jr. is when Dr.
King was closing a SCLC convention in Birmingham, Alabama when a man
walked in and started hitting Dr. King in the face with his fist, spinning him half
way around. Dr. King did not hit back what so ever. According to Rosa Parks, that
was present in the same event, all Dr. King said was, Don t touch him! We have to
pray for him (43). He was referring to the man that hit him and Martin Luther King
Jr. did not press charges against the man. It takes a lot of courage not to respond
with anger when you are being aggravated physically. Dr. King s actions made
people admire him because it is easy to hate than to forgive all the injustices and
the mistreatment for such a long period of time. At times I am almost sure Martin
Luther King Jr. thought if all his hard work and dedication was going to pay off.
Another activist was Malcolm X one of his famous line was, By any means
necessary , he believed in fighting back physically, whatever needed to be done to get
freedom was going to be done, he wanted blacks to take
William Gates Research Paper
(1) William Gates was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. Gates
father was a lawyer, and his mother served on the board of directors for First
Interstate Bancsystem and the United Way. Gates had an older sister and a
younger sister, the older sister was Kristianne and his younger sister was Libby.
He was the fourth of his name in his family, but he was really known as William
Gates III. His family encouraged competition very much, but no matter what, there
was always a reward for winning and losing. At 13, he enrolled in a private school
called Lakeside School. One of the systems was a PDP 10 which belonged to
ComputerCenter Corporation (CCC), which banned four Lakeside students Gates,
Paul Allen, Ric Weiland, and Kevin Evans for hacking the computers. The four
students offered to find bugs for the CCC s software for computer time. The deal
with the CCC continued until 1970, when the company went out of business. Gates
graduated from Lakeside School in 1973 and was a National Merit Scholar. He
scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn
of 1973. While at Harvard, he met Steve Ballmer, who would... Show more content on

Animal Pollution
The environment which we live in is polluted every single day. The carelessness of
humans today is further damaging the ecosystem in some ways, more identifiable
than others. Factory farming is a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods,
by which poultry pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled
conditions (Merriam webster). The animals are forced into the participation of the
supply and demand through cities and towns. Many may be oblivious to the fact that
the animalindustry is a leading factor of pollution. The global movement of intense
meat production is negatively affecting climate changes, ocean pollution and the
animal food chain.
The process of meat production is causing the earth s climate to unnaturally change.
Factory farms use a variety of toxic chemicals to feed, grow and execute the animals.
One of the chemicals used on factory farms is Carbon Dioxide. Burning fossil fuel
(oil and gasoline) releases a considerable amount of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are
hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel, oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of
dead plants and animals. It takes, on average 11 times as much fossil fuel to
produce a calorie of animal protein as it does to produce a calorie of grain protein. In
the end, more carbon dioxide is released during the production of meat rather than the
manufacturing of vegetables and plants (Peta, p.1) Another toxic chemical that is
often released into the atmosphere because of factory
Influence of Women in The Great Gatsby Essay
Female Great Gatsby Journal Though the Great Gatsby is a male dominated book,
there are a few women who have great influences. Daisy Buchannan is the main
female character, having romantic relations with both Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby.
Myrtle Wilson is a woman who is married to a hardworking man, but she remained
unfaithful throughout the length of the novel. Lastly, Jordan Baker is probably the
least mentioned woman but had an equally important role as the others. Fitzgerald
used the development of the three women to further the plot and theme of the book
and show the treatment and role of women in that society at that time. Daisy
Buchannan is introduced in the first chapter at a gathering in her home. Nick

(Gatsby 24). Nick describes her a thick woman in [her] middle thirties (Gatsby 25),
the average woman in that time. Once she and Tom get off the train, she
immediately buys a dog, and then makes a point to buy a rather expensive dog as
well. When she arrives to her sister s house, where a party is taking place, Nick
says that she changed her costume (Gatsby 30). Because a costume is also the
attire performers wear, Nick is giving us the impression that all of this is a play, a
facade to act wealthy when in fact she is not. Nick also says with the influence of
the dress her personality had also undergone a change. The intense vitality that had
been so remarkable in the garage was converted into impressive hauteur (Gatsby
30), again another indicator of her performance of a wealthy woman. Soon, she and
Tom discuss in impassioned voices whether she had any right to mention Daisy s
name (Gatsby 37). Tom punches her after this, but still left the party with her.
Myrtle is now a woman with no self respect, due to her allowing a man, though he
may be rich, to physically assault her, instead of having a man who truly cares for
her not being well off. Jordan Baker is not talked about much in the book until the
third chapter. Nick talks about her incurable dishonesty
Controversy Sandwich
How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
The first step is to get everything you need. So you would need to get your peanut
butter and jelly. Grab the jelly from your fridge and take your peanut butter from the
cabinet. To open the fridge simply pull on the handle. Once done push the door shut.
Next to open the cabinet just pull on the little knob then push the door closed again.
Then take the bread from the cabinet. Then you need to get a knife to spread the jelly
and peanut butter. Next step is to get two pieces of bread. You will also need a plate
for the sandwich. So you need to twist the little twist tie to the left so it will untwist.
Then take out two pieces of bread and place them on a plate. Next you need to place

Enso s Influence On The Brisbane River Flows In Australia
Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and is a amazing and modern city set on the
Brisbane River. The Brisbane river flows northeast for some 345km and goes through
the Brisbane City and Moreton bay. Brisbane is located in South East Queensland and

Mexicans And Mexican American Youth
Throughout our history as a nation, we have earned a reputation of undermining the
relationships we have had with minorities and of largely neglecting their needs. Our
almost hostile nature towards minorities in the United States can largely be seen in
the treatment of Mexicans and Mexican American citizens in the times surrounding
World War Two. Such hostilities are reflected in our treatment of Mexican Americans
in the late 19th after the Civil War and early 20th centuries, the Sleepy Lagoon
murder responses, and the Zoot Suitriots. My primary source reveals a feeling of
inferiority in the United Statesby the Mexican Americanyouth due discrimination that
they faced, which can be better understood by analyzing the cultural contexts. As
railroads expanded during the United States western expansionist period in the late
19th century, Mexican immigration along with Eastern migration grew in the west.
Once the Mexican immigrants arrived, they largely occupied commercial agriculture
in large farms, mining industries, and the construction of railroads, but were
generally paid very little. During this time, as Arizona State History Professor
Manuel P. ServГn explained, the Mexican Americans that had been here for years
had already begun to feel despised by the Western Expansionists, and were looked at
as less American and an unassimilable foreigner. The lower class Mexican
immigrants and citizens largely assimilated on rail road cities, or Sonora towns, such
as Los Angeles, El

Othello Essays On Jealousy. Jealousy In Othello Essay Telegraph

  • 1. Othello Essays On Jealousy Writing an essay on the theme of jealousy in Othello can present a challenging yet intellectually stimulating task. Exploring the intricate layers of emotions, character dynamics, and societal influences depicted in Shakespeare's play requires a deep understanding of the text, its historical context, and the nuances of human psychology. Jealousy, as a central theme, demands a meticulous analysis of how it shapes the characters, influences their actions, and contributes to the overall tragic trajectory of the play. Crafting a compelling essay involves delving into the complexities of each character's jealousy—Othello's tragic downfall fueled by Iago's manipulation, Desdemona's innocence tainted by unfounded suspicions, and the destructive consequences that unfold. The challenge lies in interpreting Shakespeare's language, deciphering subtle nuances, and presenting a cohesive argument that unveils the psychological depths of jealousy as portrayed in Othello. Furthermore, a successful essay requires the incorporation of critical perspectives, scholarly analysis, and a nuanced understanding of the cultural and historical context in which the play was written. The task is not only to convey personal interpretations but also to engage with existing scholarly discourse, demonstrating a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter. In navigating the complexity of Othello and jealousy, one must carefully structure the essay, seamlessly integrating textual evidence, critical viewpoints, and personal insights. The ability to articulate a coherent thesis, provide insightful analysis, and draw meaningful connections between jealousy and the broader themes of the play is crucial. Despite the challenges, the process of writing such an essay can be immensely rewarding. It offers an opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, deepen one's appreciation for Shakespearean literature, and explore the enduring relevance of themes like jealousy in the human experience. How Virtual Worlds Can Be Used To Enhance Learning and Education Virtual worlds have solved many of the challenges faced by educational institutions. Today, hundreds of colleges, universities and other learning organizations are either augmenting their current traditional classroom curriculum with a virtual learning component or are holding classes and entire programs exclusively in immersive learning environments in Second Life. Second Life s persistent virtual environments give students an opportunity to work together synchronously and then return, individually or as a team. The learning space is always equally available, for geographically dispersed groups as well as for those who meet regularly in the physical world. This is especially useful when students require more flexible schedules or need to work asynchronously on the same project. Second Life amplifies learning beyond capabilities afforded by teleconference calls and web presentation tools. It also creates an avenue for field trips inside virtual organs, machines and other environments that go far beyond the limits of traditional learning spaces. Training simulations are also incredibly powerful in Second Life because they simulate complex, processes in the physical world and avatars can take on different roles to enhance learning. • 7. Woodrow Wilson s 14 point plan Essay example A devastating war had left much of Europe in ruin and smoke, but a task almost as difficult as the war was still ahead for the allies, devising a treaty. President Woodrow Wilson had come up with a fourteen point plan, which he proposed to the allied leaders of France, Italy, and Britain. Although this plan was eventually voted down by the senate, and never passed, several key points were put into the treaty that was accepted by the senate. The first point on Wilson s 14 point plan was that nations should not have any secret treaties or alliances with other nations. This is an important point in the plan, because if it were followed through with it could possibly prevent many wars afterwards. That is, of course, if the nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fourth point on Wilsons plan was the reducing of armies of all nations to a bare minimum. This did not go over well at all. No nation wanted to be told by the United States that it had to reduce its army. This point was tied to Americas participation in the war because America could significantly reduce its army and still be safe. It had 2 oceans to protect it, unlike every other nation, especially those in Europe. This was another point to basically put America on top, and secure its rank as the number one nation in the world Wilsons fifth point was open mindedness in the discussion of colonial claims. This is basically saying that all nations should be willing to give up some of their colonial claims. I think this is one of the most ridiculous points on Wilsons plan. Wars start because of colonial claims. World War II was started because of land claims. However, I do not think that this point was related to the United States participation in the war, because the United States had no interest in acquire any new land at the time, and did not have much of a large colonial holding. I think this point applies mainly to Britain, which had many colonies. Point s 6 through 13 all had to deal with new nations being created and borders of existing nations being modified. I don t think that these points had anything to do with the United States participation in the war, because these borders needed to be modified and many nations

One of Gaudi s most impressive and beautiful buildings is Casa BatllГі. GaudГ designed the building for Josep BatllГі, a wealthy aristocrat, as an upmarket home. He had asked Gaudi to tear down the old one to reconstruct a new one. GaudГ managed to convince BattlГі to remodel the existing building instead of tearing it down, and between 1904 and 1906 he redesigned the facade and roof, added an extra floor and completely remodeled the interior. This work of Gaudi I believe is a clear example of an Artist s vision. Gaudi incorporated his creativeness into a building produced a concrete example of his vision. To me it feels like this building you might see in Disneyland, but here it is on a normal street of Barcelona erected amongst other buildings. Yet it questions our imagination. The curves, the colour scheme that is used, the use of bones, it is simply captivating! This is what Gaudi s work is about to create an impact on its viewers. I really appreciate this work of his because he created something completely different, something out of the ordinary. Another one of Gaudi s famous work is the Sagrada Familia. Though it is unfinished it is still on of the famous attractions in Barcelona. Whilst the building was actually started by Francisco de Paula Villar, It was Antonio Gaudi who took over in 1884 by finishing the underground crypt that Villar had begun to give Sagrada Familia a unique twist and a revolutionary design. Gaudi incorporates his religious side into this building. The church was designed to have a total length of 110 m, and a height of 45 m, with twelve towers between 100 and 115 m high. • 11. The Basel Committee On Banking Supervision The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has developed a regulatory capital framework for operational risk measurement and introduced three approaches: the Basic Indicator Approach (BIA), the Standardized Approach (SA) and the Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA).The identification and measurement of operational riskcan be viewed as following either the top down approach or the bottom up approach depending on the method used to calculate the risk charge. In the top down approach, the financial data is extracted from the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement. This method may not result in the proper capturing of risks nor does it help in risk mitigation. This approach corresponds with the Basic Indicator Approach and the Standardized Approach of Basel IIAccord. The third approach of the Accord i.e. Advanced Measurement Approach, is consistent with bottom up approach in which the regulatory capital requirement will be defined by the estimate generated by the internal operational risk measurement system (Rajeev, 2004). The Basic Indicator Approach (BIA) The BIA is the simplest of the three approaches to calculate operational risk capital charge. This approach uses a single indicator i.e. gross income as a proxy for a bank s overall operational risk exposure. The bank is required to measure the average positive gross income over the previous three years. The years with negative gross income are excluded. The gross income is computed as net interest income plus net

Mitochondrial DNA GENOMIC AND MITOCHONDRIAL DNA IN FORENSIC DENTISTRY The genomic DNA is found in the nucleus of each cell in the human body and represents a DNA source for most forensic applications. The teeth are an excellent source of genomic DNA because PCR analyses allow comparing the collected postmortem samples to known antemortem samples or parental DNA. Mitochondrial DNA is another type of material that can be used for body identification. Its main advantage is the high number of copies per cell (from hundreds to thousands of organelles). When the extracted DNA samples are too small or degraded, such as those obtained from skeletonized tissues, the likelihood of obtaining a DNA profile from mitochondrial DNA is higher than that with any marker found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In forensic samples, the study of DNA (genomic and mitochondrial) is usually performed by STR (short tandem repeats) analysis, which can be defined as hypervariable regions of DNA that present consecutive repetitions of fragments that have 2 to 7 base pairs (bp). The VNTR (variable number of tandem repeats) testing, which may present short repeated sequences of intermediate size (15 to 65 base pairs), is rarely used in forensic analyses due to the poor quality DNA provided with this method. The most valuable STRs for human identification are those that present greater polymorphism (greater number of alleles), smaller size (in base pairs), higher frequency of heterozygotes (higher than 90%) and low frequency of mutations11. CAREFUL HANDLING OF SAMPLES, DNA EXTRACTION AND PCR AMPLIFICATION As observed, several protocols are used for DNA extraction and analysis, and there is no standard methodology. Therefore, researchers must carefully evaluate the conditions of the material to be examined, especially when dealing with forensic cases, in which there is a greater risk of sample contamination and influence of environmental factors, in addition to a small amount of material available in most situations. The play was essential to Neelbidraha, or Indigo revolt of February March 1859 in Bengal, when farmers refused to plant indigo in their fields as a protest against exploitative farming under the British Raj. The preface to the play addresses the numerous indigo planters who are offered the neel darpan (the indigo mirror), so that they may take a look reflected in it . In this play it reflects the social, political and economic situations affected by the tyranny of the indigo planters which exploits the Indian peasants. The play is based on Mitra s experience as a postmaster in rural areas of Orissa and Bengal. He saw the indigo farmer s oppression very closely. The trials of the peasants were not only unjust but inhuman and exploitative in nature. Mitra wrote this play to raise a voice against the indigo planters, jamindars and British officials. It has fundamentally changed how we communicate and share data with each other over long distances. Electronic communications have grown exponentially over the last one hundred years with a major push in the last few decades. The biggest challenge for long distance communications specifically on a global scale comes in two parts, 1. the curvature of the earth adds complexity to over the horizon communications, and 2. due to the sheer size of the earth, the ability to provide complete global coverage. The longest a transmission could be made in the late 1800s was from Chicago to New York, mainly due to the loss of signal as it traveled over the long network of cables. Once Michael I. A Brief Note On The Remote Systems Administration Introduction: in order to have local business enterprise that on the smaller size there needs to be a consultant that can provide the company to associate with the employees that are new. One decent approach to this would be simply setting up a system in order to get a lot more use out of your PCs and peripherals. This is especially true for the small and home business clients. To share a solitary broadband, we have the Systems permit that goes through with the Internet association among different PCs and PC clients. These clients find themselves being able to share documents amongst personal computers easily and effortlessly. With Systems administration we see that permits one to utilize a printer that is associated with an alternate PC, and to be able to access assets that are different and media. An example of this would be music and pictures that are remotely put away within the workplace environment. The Remote systems administration allows for you to have a more appealing and ostensibly office environment that is secure that contain little links hanging around. It can give one a lot more adaptability when it comes to finding your IT unit, and you can utilize your portable PC from any place in your office. It can also permit you to give your guests some remote web access or hot work area offices. With this Ethernet based wired systems administration can even now have the edge over remote hardware in being more dependable, lower cost and offering quicker association

In Revealing Aphrodite, Nigel Spivey describes the nude Knidian Aphrodite of Praxiteles and its cultural legacy in the understanding of societal expectations of ancient Greek women. Respected women were depicted fully clothes, adorned with jewelry and sometimes presenting an offering to the gods. Only sex workers, typically slaves or the educated hetairai/courtesans, and at times certain goddesses, appeared nude in art, but these representations did not convey the same power as the Doryphoros does for men. The common theme amongst all the depictions of women in art, is the passivity of their nature. For instance, the Knidian Aphrodite catches the goddess in a moment of vulnerability. Her shoulders are hunched, hand covering her genetalia in an attempt at modesty and her passive posture does not inspire as much as the Doryphoros. The Knidian Aphrodite s body language does not yield as much power or control to onlookers as the Doryphoros, but is meant to entice and distract as women are said to do. Spivey suggests this is due to the stigma against women embodying Aphrodite, goddess of love and desire, and taking on the roles patroned by Demeter, goddess of the harvest and motherhood (Spivey, 177). The juxtaposition of these goddesses speaks to how it is up to women to, in a sense, bring themselves up by straying away
  • 27. Justice Is Served In Agatha Christie s Murder On The... Someone has committed a crime that affects an entire group of people, personally; when the person is put on trial, the jury comes to the grand decision that the criminal will not get the punishment they very well deserve. The subject has been one of debate for years. Clearly, Agatha Christie s, Murder on the Orient Express, displays that justice should always be served, as seen by her characters, even if jurys are unable to do it themselves. Accordingly, justice is served by the character of Mary Debenham. Debenham seemingly had something already in mind when she said, When it s over. When it s behind us (Christie 10). With this in mind, she knows who he really is since he is her target for justice. Clearly, Christie believes that all criminals should be punished. Finding the trail wasn t particularly difficult, since I knew the campus from its sustainable farm to the music building overlooking its own lawn and pond; however, once I got there I was surprised. Right on the edge of the road, the forest had muses all around to draw inspiration from. I found myself transfixed by every little squirrel that would not run away from me, since I was in their world and not the other way around. In the regression analysis for this model it was determined that it was able to explain approximately 90% of the variability in past sales. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I sat there in a motionless position similar to that of the Thinker, I was reminded of the fundamental lesson of sports: There is no substitute for winning. People today often accept a misconception to about the value of losing. Losing sucks; there is no sugarcoating it. When an individual completely invests oneself to achieve a goal, anything other than victory can only be considered a failure. Once we realized our opportunity to reach, and in our minds likely win, the state championship, our whole season seemed like the rising action in preparation for a deflating anticlimax. We didn t have to accept failure, but we had to accept the fact that we had failed. I had to accept the fact that I had failed. Somehow, there is a bitter form of beauty in that dedication to a goal, but even more, in the perseverance to continue. Sports often puts another commonly accepted misconception to rest: that we should forget about our failures. Regardless of its outcome, that fateful match had been the best performance of our team of the entire season. Although yes, we fell short of our goal and failed, it would be a disgrace to act like the whole ordeal was all a waste. There are some citizens out there who prefer the use of non binary pronouns such as they/their instead of him/her, because they feel as though their gender should not be assumed. Even though some people may not agree with banning gender pronouns, it would protect transgender and other non binary people from discrimination, expand the possibilities for gender identity and expression, and reduce the impact that gender has on our educational system. Explain why it is compelling to you Gender pronouns make me curious because most humans do not have to worry about harassment due to their gender or how they portray themselves. This is bothersome to me because we are all human beings and in my opinion, deserve the same rights as everyone else. When Mrs. Detreick went to the front of the class room the students got silent really fast. She then turned on the smart board and pulled up a worksheet. When they were going over the worksheet she would have the student come up to the board and their responsibility was to write what the compoundwordwould be. After they got done with the worksheet she told the students to take out their iPads and go to socrative. They played a game that they had to decide whether the word was a compound word or not, this put a little competition into the learning. After they played a few rounds of that the teacher hand out cards that had one part of the word and they have to find the other student with the word completing your word. The ten chickens I filmed demonstrated unique characteristics, complex reasoning and future planning, and pure joy whilst roaming freely. Condemned for her inconstancy, that is to say her lust, Francesca is contained in the eternal whirlwind of the `bufera infernale , alongside her lover, Paolo. In a clear parallel to her sin, she is buffeted by the inconstant wind. Although unceasing, the wind changes direction and force, a movement which is mirrored by the language used to describe it: Di qua, di l #224;, di gi #249;, di su li mena; nulla speranza li conforta mai, non che di posa, ma minor pena. (43 45, Canto V, Inf.) In addition to the basic rhyme of the terza rima, the internal rhyme is carefully manipulated to imitate phonologically the swirling of the wind. By balancing the repeated [a] of `di qua, di la with the [u:] of the `di gi #249;, di su , Dante is able to mimic the up and down movement of the air. Francesca, then, is an extremely `mobile sinner. Southerners of the nineteenth century, and indeed most Americans at the time, held intensely local sympathies; loyalties to community and state were usually more important than conceptions of American patriotism. Grant perceived one strategic imperative: A focus on the enemy s armies through maneuver and offensive action. Lincoln agreed with Grant in this respect, but he also operated under a second strategic imperative. Faced with this opposition, Grant used dialogue and negotiation to get his essential point across where his predecessors had failed. Grant did this by employing integrative, or collaborative, bargaining, an approach that uses shared interests and cooperation to arrive at a satisfactory outcome. • 51. Meaning Of Freedom In America Freedom has been discussed for a while now and yet no one can agree it exists. The conflict over the meaning of freedom continues to exist from the civil war, throughout the sixties. The Civil War was fought over the question of what freedom means in America, for us in this present date to have freedom is being able to enter any public place whenever you want without being told you cannot enter, also not having to worry if you are going to be arrested if you enter the wrong restroom or don t give up your seat to a white person. For more than a century African Americans demanded and fought for freedom; progressive freedom. African American wanted equality that gave them voting rights, civil rights, education and public health. Some of the most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of their methods were: nonviolence, direct action, boycotts, such as the successful Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 56, and civil resistance. A great example of the nonviolent method initiated by Martin Luther King Jr. is when Dr. King was closing a SCLC convention in Birmingham, Alabama when a man walked in and started hitting Dr. King in the face with his fist, spinning him half way around. Dr. King did not hit back what so ever. According to Rosa Parks, that was present in the same event, all Dr. King said was, Don t touch him! We have to pray for him (43). He was referring to the man that hit him and Martin Luther King Jr. did not press charges against the man. It takes a lot of courage not to respond with anger when you are being aggravated physically. Dr. King s actions made people admire him because it is easy to hate than to forgive all the injustices and the mistreatment for such a long period of time. At times I am almost sure Martin Luther King Jr. thought if all his hard work and dedication was going to pay off. Another activist was Malcolm X one of his famous line was, By any means necessary , he believed in fighting back physically, whatever needed to be done to get freedom was going to be done, he wanted blacks to take

His family encouraged competition very much, but no matter what, there was always a reward for winning and losing. At 13, he enrolled in a private school called Lakeside School. One of the systems was a PDP 10 which belonged to ComputerCenter Corporation (CCC), which banned four Lakeside students Gates, Paul Allen, Ric Weiland, and Kevin Evans for hacking the computers. Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973 and was a National Merit Scholar. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973. • 53. Animal Pollution The environment which we live in is polluted every single day. The carelessness of humans today is further damaging the ecosystem in some ways, more identifiable than others. Factory farming is a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods, by which poultry pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions (Merriam webster). The animals are forced into the participation of the supply and demand through cities and towns. Many may be oblivious to the fact that the animalindustry is a leading factor of pollution. The global movement of intense meat production is negatively affecting climate changes, ocean pollution and the animal food chain. The process of meat production is causing the earth s climate to unnaturally change. Factory farms use a variety of toxic chemicals to feed, grow and execute the animals. One of the chemicals used on factory farms is Carbon Dioxide. Burning fossil fuel (oil and gasoline) releases a considerable amount of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel, oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of dead plants and animals. It takes, on average 11 times as much fossil fuel to produce a calorie of animal protein as it does to produce a calorie of grain protein. In the end, more carbon dioxide is released during the production of meat rather than the manufacturing of vegetables and plants (Peta, p.1) Another toxic chemical that is often released into the atmosphere because of factory
  • 54. Influence of Women in The Great Gatsby Essay Female Great Gatsby Journal Though the Great Gatsby is a male dominated book, there are a few women who have great influences. Daisy Buchannan is the main female character, having romantic relations with both Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby. Myrtle Wilson is a woman who is married to a hardworking man, but she remained unfaithful throughout the length of the novel. Lastly, Jordan Baker is probably the least mentioned woman but had an equally important role as the others. Fitzgerald used the development of the three women to further the plot and theme of the book and show the treatment and role of women in that society at that time. Daisy Buchannan is introduced in the first chapter at a gathering in her home. Nick describes her as a rich... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Myrtle Wilson is the other partner in Tom Buchannan s affair. She is of a simpler lifestyle living on the edge of the wasteland...contiguous to absolutely nothing. (Gatsby 24). Nick describes her a thick woman in [her] middle thirties (Gatsby 25), the average woman in that time. Once she and Tom get off the train, she immediately buys a dog, and then makes a point to buy a rather expensive dog as well. When she arrives to her sister s house, where a party is taking place, Nick says that she changed her costume (Gatsby 30). Because a costume is also the attire performers wear, Nick is giving us the impression that all of this is a play, a facade to act wealthy when in fact she is not. Nick also says with the influence of the dress her personality had also undergone a change. The intense vitality that had been so remarkable in the garage was converted into impressive hauteur (Gatsby 30), again another indicator of her performance of a wealthy woman. Soon, she and Tom discuss in impassioned voices whether she had any right to mention Daisy s name (Gatsby 37). Tom punches her after this, but still left the party with her. Myrtle is now a woman with no self respect, due to her allowing a man, though he may be rich, to physically assault her, instead of having a man who truly cares for her not being well off. Jordan Baker is not talked about much in the book until the third chapter. Nick talks about her incurable dishonesty
  • 55. Controversy Sandwich How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich The first step is to get everything you need. So you would need to get your peanut butter and jelly. Grab the jelly from your fridge and take your peanut butter from the cabinet. To open the fridge simply pull on the handle. Once done push the door shut. The Brisbane river flows northeast for some 345km and goes through the Brisbane City and Moreton bay. Brisbane is located in South East Queensland and is the third largest city in Australia. In the past, Brisbanehas had many catastrophic floods in the past including the great flood of 1893 and 1974. The subtropical climate in Brisbane is mostly effected by El NiГ±o and La NiГ±a. • 58. Mexicans And Mexican American Youth Throughout our history as a nation, we have earned a reputation of undermining the relationships we have had with minorities and of largely neglecting their needs. Our almost hostile nature towards minorities in the United States can largely be seen in the treatment of Mexicans and Mexican American citizens in the times surrounding World War Two. Such hostilities are reflected in our treatment of Mexican Americans in the late 19th after the Civil War and early 20th centuries, the Sleepy Lagoon murder responses, and the Zoot Suitriots. My primary source reveals a feeling of inferiority in the United Statesby the Mexican Americanyouth due discrimination that they faced, which can be better understood by analyzing the cultural contexts. As railroads expanded during the United States western expansionist period in the late 19th century, Mexican immigration along with Eastern migration grew in the west. Once the Mexican immigrants arrived, they largely occupied commercial agriculture in large farms, mining industries, and the construction of railroads, but were generally paid very little. During this time, as Arizona State History Professor Manuel P. ServГn explained, the Mexican Americans that had been here for years had already begun to feel despised by the Western Expansionists, and were looked at as less American and an unassimilable foreigner. The lower class Mexican immigrants and citizens largely assimilated on rail road cities, or Sonora towns, such as Los Angeles, El

First, I will talk through about Charles Desiderio, who was my interviewee for my final project. We will explore his background, his motivation, and his goals at Breaking Cycle. Next, we ll discuss the requirements to be a Special Education Aid at Breaking Cycle. Following, we ll analyze Breaking Cycle: how the process works, what they offer, who they serve, and what their goal are, and what challenges, if any the agency faces. Finally, I will discuss and compare my experience to Race, Ethnicity, and Youth Perceptions of Criminal Injustice by John Hagan, and Parent Youth Conflict and School Delinquency/Cigarette Use: The Moerating... Therefore, the agency s objectives are to rehabilitate the youth who are put in this program, prevent and reduce crime through their services, reduce the number of youth who are incarcerated by providing helpful services, improve the youth s school performance and more specifically their attendance by illustrating them the importance of school, improve the relationship between the youth and their parents, and lastly it s to reduce substance abuse such as alcohol and, or drugs. Youth Day Center Reflections/Breaking Cycle serves the communities of San Marcos, Vista, Escondido, Oceanside, Fallbrook, and Carlsbad, in other words, the North City County of San Diego. Breaking Cycle deals with the youth who are anywhere from 8th graders to12th graders. The only way a youth gets placed into Breaking Cycle is being referred by the Juvenile Court. For example, let s say if a juvenile breaks the law, furthermore, the juvenile brings a deadly weapon to school, get s arrested and goes to court for his hearing. The Judge will advise the juvenile to attend Breaking Cycle for an amount of hours in order to prevent him from seeing jail time. That s a brief illustration on how the process work,s according to Mr.
