Crafting an essay on the subject of "Engineering Essays" can be quite challenging, requiring a
delicate balance between technical precision and effective communication. The intricacies
involved in discussing engineering concepts, principles, and their practical applications demand a
solid understanding of the subject matter.
One of the key difficulties lies in presenting complex engineering ideas in a way that is accessible
to a diverse audience. Striking the right tone, avoiding excessive jargon, and providing clear
explanations are essential components of a successful engineering essay. This challenge is
compounded by the need to maintain a cohesive and logical flow throughout the essay, ensuring
that each point builds upon the previous one.
Moreover, the research involved can be extensive. Engineering is a rapidly evolving field, and
staying abreast of the latest developments, breakthroughs, and advancements is crucial. It
requires a thorough investigation of scholarly articles, academic journals, and authoritative
sources to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Additionally, balancing theoretical concepts with practical examples can be demanding.
Integrating real-world applications of engineering principles not only requires a deep
understanding of the subject but also the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into tangible
scenarios that resonate with the reader.
Furthermore, adhering to specific formatting and citation styles, such as APA, MLA, or IEEE,
adds another layer of complexity. Precise citation of sources and proper referencing are vital to
maintaining academic integrity, and mastering these details can be time-consuming.

Persuasive Essay On Pitbulls
Dogs come in just about every size and shape you can imagine. There are fluffy
ones, sleek ones, fast ones, heavy ones, long ones, short ones, and everything in
between. But with each breed comes a different public view of how safe or
aggressive that dog may be. Each breed of dog has a unique history, and with that, a
reputation. For example, when you think of the corgi, you might think of the Queen
of England, who famously has many such dogs. But unfortunately, sometimes a breed
s reputation does it more damage than good. An example of this situation is the
pitbull. Should pitbulls be considered aggressive and dangerous breeds? I do not
think that they should. In recent years, most people will not allow their children to
play with pitbulls.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One valid reason that pitbulls are not dangerous is thataggressionin dogs is based on
how theyare raised, trained, and handled on a day to day basis.Any dog, regardless of
breed, can become dangerous or extremely aggressiveif treated poorly. Abused
animals become defensive and mistrusting of humans. This can lead to attacks if
the dog feels threatened by the presence of a person. The dog would lash out to
protect itself, which is understandable if it has learned that humans mean danger
through a life of mistreatment.A man could train his great dane to attack a
personwho entered hisproperty just as easily as he could train a pitbull, with the
same results. If a dog is raised properly, and shown love and affection and
socialized from a young age, they can be good, loyal companionsand great pets.
Thisfact does not apply to only certain breeds of dogs, but all dogs in general. The
media overplays the danger of bullybreeds. In a study conducted bythe Canine

Lord Of The Flies Character Analysis
When placed somewhere new and confusing, filled with unfamiliar sights and
sounds, people will desire to make sense of their environment, no matter their
previous conditioning as to what is right or wrong. In the novel The Lord of the
Flies, young boys are stranded somewhere totally new, both in its physical and social
environments, and once civilization is stripped away, a clear dividing line separates
those who fight the savagery from those who embrace it. The physical environmentof
the island greatly impacted the characters and their storylines in The Lord of the
Flies. The climate of the island meant that the boys did not needto struggle to stay
alive, so they were not unified in the desire to survive. The article The New
Psychology of Leadershipstates social identity also allows people to identify and
act together as group members (pg.3) If they had needed to focus on staying warm,
for example, the boys would have had a group identity in the original tribe.
However, the island they crashed on was warm and habitable, so the boys did not
have a group identity, until Jack shaped one with his tribe. The island they were on
was also inhabited by pigs, so there was an outlet for Jack s aggression, leading to
his increasing tendency to be cruel. Jack was emotionally driven in the beginning of
the book, and exercising the power he had through the hunting of pigs only
increased that hunger for power, which led to the division of the boys. Jack s need to

Standardized Test Scores An Accurate Representation Of A...
Are standardized test scores an accurate representation of a student s abilities?
Standardized tests can be found at any level of a student s academic career, but are
they accurate indicators of a student s academic abilities? Standardized tests are used
to measure a student s academic abilities, and overall knowledge. In theory, a student
s skills can be determined by examining the limited data collected from the test.
However, standardized test do not fully represent a student s abilities, and cumulative
knowledge. Many factors may affect the validity of the scores, and the accuracy of
the assessment. Instructor s teaching directly for the test, being able to guess on
multiple choice questions, examining only test scores, and ignoring other academic
factors contribute to the biased representation of students academic abilities.
Because instructors are teaching directly for the test, the data collected may not be an
accurate representation of the student s true abilities. As standardized test grow in
popularity among the school system, the pressure to achieve high scores rapidly
builds. The importance of high scores goes beyond individual students performances,
and teacher evaluations. Serious repercussions could result from poor scores, or
performances. For example, schools that continue to fail to improve may be closed,
and districts that continue to fail may be subject to state takeover (Posner). With the
weight of the success of the school on their shoulders,
Sibling Life Interview
Leaving home and coming to college is a different experience for every individual.
For some, it can be very difficult and others seamless. The transition of course has
many different factors; where one goes to school, how far from home it is, if that
person considers themselves a homebody or not, the list goes on. For my methods
interview assignment I chose to examine a particular situation that not many
incoming students find themselves in, coming to schoolwith a sibling. For my
interview I talked with first year Greta Long about her experience joining her senior
year brother at Pitzer College. While the phenomena of a fresh start, new beginning
college experience looms over most people s heads, I wanted to find out more about
how sibling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the scale of this investigation is rather small I found for practicing
anthropology to be different than I had originally anticipated. After the process I have
concluded that conducting properly as an ethnographer in the moment is rather
challenging. Although none of my original questions were leading I skewed them
during the conversation and therefore allowed room for my influence to persuade the
interviewee. Secondly, I have learned that at certain points during an interview,
formal or informal, it is necessary to give up the agenda and follow the natural flow
of the conversation. Letting the interviewee fully articulate their thoughts without
interruption is the best way to stimulate meaningful responses. From this experience I
learned that it is important to remain conscious of the original agenda while
anticipating change in order to adapt preemptively. In some cases, particularly for
larger research agendas, investigating the topic before the interview process could
benefit the findings. Although my specific topic is more personal to individuals than
other ethnographies, prior research could include statistics of siblings at college
institutions and various other numbers supporting or negating whether or not it is a
positive thing for family members to go to college together. If I were to continue
research on this topic I would take it upon myself to
Analysis Of The Poem Oranges And Small Town With One...
Poetry is a creative art expressed through words and created through passion, prior
experience and multiple outer influences. Gary Soto is a famous poet who
blossomed in the late 20th century. Soto used different variations of poetry tools to
create expressive poems based on his own life experience. While Soto wrote many
different poems, the poems Oranges and Small Town With One Road stand out and
can be deeply analyzed. Both poems are strongly emphasized with his past
experiences in life. Gary Soto writes poems about hope, diversity and harshness of
life, because he relates to his own personal experience while conveying his meaning
through the poems.
Gary Soto was born in Fresno, California in April 12, 1952. Soto s grandparents
were immigrants from mexico, leading to him being born to a mexican american
working family which struggled to find work( Gary Soto, Poetry foundation). Soto s
father died when he was five which affected his future poetry. Growing up as a
mexican in the middle of the 20th century, Gary was exposed to the harshness of
belonging to a mexican family in america which he later wrote in his poetry( Gary
Soto, Poets.org). Gary started working in the fields and factories at a young age, he
was not academically motivated in grade school but became interested in poetry in
high school( Gary Soto, Poetry Foundation). In high school, his influencers in
literature were Ernest Hemingway, Jules Verne, John Steinbeck and Robert Frost.

Tyranny In Ancient Greece
Monarchies, aristocracies, tyrannies, oligarchies, and democracies existed throughout
the human history. What about ancient Greece? Were tyrannies or democracies more
prevalent? When and where exactly? Let s take a look.
Tyranny is the rule by one powerful dictator, called tyrant. Tyrant is defined as a ruler
who has seized power without legal right. Where tyrants appeared? In fact, many
states, in the 6th century BC particularly, were ruled by a tyrant, including Pisistratus
in Athens.
A tyrant takes power by force. He is usually from a noble family but often had the
support of poor people. In a Tyranny power is not inherited, unlike a monarchy.
Unlike the meaning of tyranny in modern day, it was not always an oppressive and
brutal rule. For example, Pisistratus rule in Athens. According to the British Museum
tyrannies first appeared in Argos or Corinth, then Sicyon, Megara, Mytilene and
Miletus. Sparta avoided tyranny, probably to strengthen the unity of citizens against
helots. Pisistratus became tyrant in Athens 3 times, starting around 560 BC. Under
the Kypselidai tyranny, the city of Corinth became known for pottery production and
export, art and trade.
Oligarchy is defined as the rule by the few. It became common throughout ancient ...

At the end of 460, Ephialtes and Pericles were behind the reforms passed by the
assembly that led to the removal of the remaining powers of the Areopagus (the
aristocratic council) that had been Athens Supreme Court. In 411 and 405,
oligarchies overthrew Athenian democracy, and tyrannies by pro Macedonians, under
Macedonian rule of Greece, were imposed on the allies of Athens against Macedon.
Democracy was overthrown in Athens, after death of Alexander the great, but
continued in the city of Rhodes. Rome and Hellenistic kings encouraged monarchy

The Role Of War In George Orwell s Wagged Arms
For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the word war is a
cause, moreover fighting for beliefs or ethics that radically differ from the
opposing side s. However, a more universal similarity between wars, fiction or
nonfiction, is economic gain. In 1984, The Eyre Affair, and Sherlock Holmes: A
Game of Shadows, the antagonist has the same motivation for the same action; each
aim to start a major war in order to sell weapons that they produce, earning a
substantial profit for the world s distress. In George Orwells novel, 1984 (along with
the movie adaptation), Big Brother and The Party control Oceania under
totalitarianistic rule while the super state is at perpetual war. The war, while
seemingly pointless and merely the cause of entangled alliances, is 1... Show more

soldiers fight for a cause, businesses like Goliath create jobs for those still in the

Ethics And Its Impact On Business Ethics
Behind every successful company there is a strong foundation of ethics. Their
vision, mission, behavior as a company, beliefs, and convictions all stem from their
ethics. Not all companies have this foundation. To some, it is not believed to be
essential for success. Ethics is important in business because our day to day life
involves these businesses. The places we go to buy clothes, food, cars, computers,
and services are all different kinds of businesses that we support financially. How
many of the businesses around us have a strong foundation of ethics? How do we
know that these companies don t have workers working excruciating hours behind
the scenes to produce the things that are seen on the shelves? How do we know that
they are treating their workers with kindness and respect, as well as customers?
Business ethicsare important for not only the workers of those companies, but for
their consumers. There is a domino effect that is caused when a consumer from a
company with good business ethics recognizes it. As a result, the consumer returns,
bringing with them more consumers, resulting in more profit for the business and a
healthy work environment for its workers.
Ethics is defined as the philosophical investigation and explanation of moral facts
such as moral evaluations, commandments, norms, virtuous acts and manifestations
of conscience. Basically, it is what is morally considered right or wrong according to
an individual (Wiley 22). Ethics in the work place lead
Why Is Gun Safety Important
Gun Safety Gun safety is knowing how to use and what to do with a gun and
keeping them away from people who do not know what to do with a gun and could
possibly misuse it. Gun safety was brought to attention when more kids started killed
themselves from the gun not being kept safe. This could involve someone you know
and could resolve in their death. Gunsafety should be influenced by keeping them in
a safe and educating people about them, if not, someone could be charged with
murder, even if they re not the one who pulled the trigger. Guns need to be in a safe
away from children. Children under age 12 die from gun accidents in the U.S. about
once a week, on average (Martelle). Almost every death begins with the same basic
circumstances:
King Arthur Love Triangles
Whether by explaining the origins of civilizations and nations or by creating
explanations to the many mysteries of existence, myths play a huge role on tales and
validate cultural and social history. In particular, English myth aims at validating the
history of England as well as creating a set of rules for society. In the Arthurian
legend, King Arthurand his knights of the Round Table, learn a series of morals. The
lesson about love triangles is seen in the cases of Uther, Igraine and Gorlois, Arthur,
Guinevere and Lancelot and Mark, Tristan and Isolde. Indeed, English warns against
the tragedies of love triangles.
In the Arthurian legend, one example of a love triangle that leads to tragedy is the
one among Uther, Igraine and Gorlois. According to the legend, King Uther of

Common and Preferred Stock
How do Corporations raise capital? All of the large corporations could not have
grown to their present size without being able to find innovative ways to raise
capital to finance ultimate expansion. There are many ways this can be
accomplished, but this review will take a look at just two ways: the issuance of
Preferred Stock and selling of Common Stock. What exactly is a stock, anyway?
Basically, stock is ownership, simple as that. Buy a share of APPLE Inc. and acquire
a tiny sliver of the computer giant, tying the investments fate to that of the Chairman,

In contrast to a Common Stock, a company may choose to issue Preferred Stock to
raise capital. Preferred Stock represents a hybrid in the sense that it is an equity
interest with certain features resembling debt. Buyers of these shares have special
status in the event the underlying company encounters financial trouble. A typical
preferred shareholder doesn t vote on the composition of the company s board or
other matters. They are more interested in receiving regular dividends, since these
dividends do not fluctuate based on the company s profits; each preferred
shareholder is entitled to a fixed amount at certain periods, just so long as the
company has the money to do so. Dividends are, also, paid to preferred
stockholders before they are paid to common stockholders. Preferred stock is
issued with a specific dividend rate. The dividend rate may be stated as a dollar
amount or as a percentage of the par value. When dividends are paid, preferred
stockholders are paid the amount applicable to their class of preferred stock. Several
advantages to issuing preferred stock include: no dilution of management s interest in
corporate growth or in voting power (if non voting preferred stock is issued), and
predictable dividend payments and preferences upon liquidation (for which investors
may pay a premium). Although, disadvantages include: a

Mental Maps
My life can be divided into two segments. The first part I lived with my family and
Mexico City, the second part started when I moved to Austin in the start of college.
The live that I lived in each of the sections has been different from the activities that
I took part in, all the way to what kind of location those activities occurred. In this
paper I will explain the two mental maps that I created. For each map I will
compare and contrast the Landmarks, nodes, edges, paths, and edges in each of the
sections of my life and why they are relevant to me. The first map that I drew is
about, the space I inhabited in the past, which is MexicoCity. In this part of my life I

In the past I used to be more focused in religion and sports, since I used to think of
the synagogue and JCC as important nodes. Currently the activities I typically
partake have become mostly studying, socializing and drinking, which can be
perceived by the nodes I consider important, such as the SAC and my fraternity. In
the case of the landmarks, in both of the mental maps I have objects that catch my
attention in my everyday routes as things I distinguish in the landscape.
Consequently, in both maps my paths are defined on the nodes of my life, which
have led to these objects becoming landmarks for me.
Meanwhile when it comes to considering how I got from point A to point B in each
map it is very different. In Mexico City every single place I traveled meant that I
needed to drive or be driven around since distances are relatively long compared to
Austin. This meant that the places that I considered to be important for me are more
scattered around my mental map. For Austin, most of my activities take part in a
smaller region since the mode of transportation I primarily use is walking, therefore
the distances I cover are much shorter than in my past.
In general I can conclude that by comparing and contrasting both mental maps, I can
more accurately understand how I have changed as a person, not only because I live
in a very different city,
The World Is The Best
As time elapses, ideas, thoughts, and view of the world tend to modify. I assume that
the literature that is present from hundred years ago until now, displays a shift of
religion to nature. Religion used to be the basis for most of the things, but as new
ideas approached, nature began to replace it. Not implying that nature completely
replaced religion, but it became a new way to understand the world. I believe there
is always going to be a debate on which way to understand the world is the best.
Religious people would argue that the bibleis the guide for lives and the way to
control the world, but on the other hand, science also tries to explain this idea.

How would it pleased God to see a person die in a desperate manner even if they had
sin? God gives us life and would pardon our sins if we seek for him. However, I
believe the puritans, including Bradford, felt that there was no option of
forgiveness. According to what I have read in Bradford s story, I would say that
religion could make someone selfish. I am not against religion, but this is what I
conclude based on this literature. I feel this way because it seems that they just
think for themselves. They believe they are perfect and that anyone else is evil. I
feel that being a religious person, should not make them feel superior like the
puritans did. I believe that in God s eye we are all the same, but the puritans saw
the Native Americans as savages and not pure. An example of this is in the first
encounter the puritans had with the so called savages. Thus it pleased God to
vanquish their enemies...and by his special providence so to dispose that not any
of them were either hurt or hit... (79) In my point of view, here is a clear example
of how they are being selfish. They are just worried about them not being hurt, but
what about the savages? I feel that religion means caring for everyone, but here I see
the opposite of that. Again, how God would be pleased by an
Similarities Between Zaabalawi And The Alchemist
Naguib Mahfouz s short story Zaabalawi and Paolo Coelho s novel The Alchemist
both trace the encounters of a narrator who embarks on a spiritual journey. The works
are strikingly similar in that they are both are organized as quest narratives, and both
are set in the middle east with the same endgame in mind: enlightenment. As Santiago
from The Alchemist and the unnamed narrator from Zaabalawi travel, they embody
the seeker archetype, and from each person they meet, they gain wisdom and strength.
Despite similarities of plot and character, however, the narratives draw different
conclusions. While Coelho s novel stands out as a quasi religious tribute to mental
fortitude and universal oneness, Mahfouz s short story touches on the spiritual... Show

In both stories, a strongly developed narrator is aided by a notably transient
supporting cast. One such member of Santiago s supporting cast is the King of
Salem, who tells Santiago he will help him find the hidden treasure because
Santiago has succeeded in discovering [his] personal legend (21). A whole cast of
characters, from the Englishmen to the Alchemist, go on to advance Santiago s
cause in a very explicit manner. They provide him money, wisdom, or experience.
The Alchemist is especially notable: derived from the books title, his character is
sagacious and and possess complete understanding of the Soul of the World. In the
work, the Soul of the World is associated with spiritual growth; in Mahfouz s story,
the idea of Zaabalawi functions similarly. Characters in the latter tale become
progressively more in touch with Zaabalawi, who seems to represent some sort of
spiritual presence. In general, Mahfouz s story is more implicit, but also more
structured. The only information provided about Zaabalawi is that he s a true saint
of God, a remover of worries and troubles, but with each new interaction, the narrator
s acquaintances become closer to the presence of Zaabalawi with each new
interaction. This correlation can then be used to infer about the true nature of this
spiritual being. The first character met by the narrator, Seikh Qamar, is cushioned by
a layer of luxurious materialism: in his office, noted are a beautiful woman
with...intoxicating perfume, a fine leather upholstered chair, and a costly carpet,
among other things (883). The man is dismissive, cold, and materialistic: he
represents a modern figure distanced from spirituality. The next characters are more
artistic and increasingly able to balance attributes of traditionalism and modernism.
Character two, a local sheikh, wears

Birth defects are health problems that occurs when a baby is developing in uterus
(in the womb) of an individual (Healthline Editorial Team, 2017). This defect may
be caused by genetic disorders, problems with chromosomes, or environmental
factors; disorders such as mandibulo facial dysostosis, cleft palate and spina bifida.
The lives of people with severe birth defects conditions are often contributed by
stigma as well as discrimination. Stigma is a major cause of discrimination which
leads to rejections, being scorned and gossip at; isolated socially, bullied; and even
labelled. The book, Palacio, R.J Wonder, 2012 demonstrated the story of a boy
named August or Auggie Pullman, a ten year old boy living in Manhattan who was
born with severe birth defects (mandibulo facial dysostosis and a cleft palate)
which left him severely disfigured. It was difficult for him to make friends. He lives
with his parents, his older sister Via; and his dog Daisy. August was homeschooled
up until the fifth grade but his parents decided it was time for him attend a real
school. They enrolled him in Beecher Prep, a neighborhood private school. There
August (Auggie) was faced with many obstacles during the school year because of his
appearance. He dealt with many stigma and discrimination from both students and
parents.

Diversity In Public Schools
Public schools are open to everyone regardless of disability, wealth, status, race or
religion when private and parochial schools are not.
You are essentially guaranteed a chance for an education at a public school.
2b. Why did you feel it was the strongest argument? (3 points)
When there is diversity is gives the schools a chance to experiment and develop and
find the best practices.
When using the standardized tools afforded to public schools it can assist in closing
the gaps in the terms of race and financially. When taxes are paid and divested into
our school systems, it is for the students to grow academically and develop leadership
skills. This should instill a better future for all.
Also, what would be the actual monetary cost
Vietnam War Peace Movement
During the Vietnam War, Martin Luther King was the one who led the peace
movement. The peace movement was when Americans gathered to protest to try
make the U.S. bring back the troops from Vietnam. Americans did not want the
U.S. fighting in the Vietnam War and were looking for peace and ease instead.
Many wondered if the peace movement was ever going to end because it clearly did
not work since the U.S was still fighting in the Vietnam War. Nobody really listened
to MLK in the beginning of this movement. Though, this was not a reason to give up.
This only gave most Americans more motivation to keep going. Many doubted the
peaceful movement and weren t sure if it was working. Some even dropped out of
this movement because they saw no change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

is always trying to get involved in a country that is none of their business. The U.S.
wanted to contain communism from spreading around the war. For that reason, the
U.S. decided to become involved in the Vietnam War. This was clearly a mistake
because how could the U.S. possible have control over this situation? Sending troops
who have no interest in the Vietnam War whatsoever to fight and die is not a way to
contain communism. Spending money to fight a war that is pointless is not going to
stop communism from spreading. Not only that, but Americans were not even happy
at the fact that the U.S. decided to become involved in the Vietnam War. A large
amount of money was spent on the Vietnam War instead of this money being spent
on the poor or something effective in the U.S. Thousands and thousands of troops
were sent to fight miles and miles away. Many of these men were African Americans
and were not even given their full civil rights, but they were sent to fight to a war
they did not want to be a part of. Many Americans wanted peace in the U.S. and
wanted their troops back to their home. For these many reasons, the Vietnam War was
a mistake and the U.S. should have just minded their own business in America.
Furthermore, the U.S. should have maintained peace in their own nation and should
have made Americans happy
The On Liberty By John Stuart Mills
ON LIBERTY In John Stuart Mills profound work, On Liberty he preaches against
the conformity of the nations and outwardly encourages and restlessly defends voice
of the individual. The philosopher expresses the importance of individuality by
warning against forces such as the government and other citizens silencing their
opinion. Though Mill s gives due recognition to virtues such as free speech, liberty
and individualism he also rightly places limitations on our freedoms to ensure our
own freedoms do not infringe upon the ones of those around us. In essence, I believe
that Mill s insightfully provides a logical answer to society on how to live and how to
allow others to live; freely unless harm will ensue. By Mills statement that, [i]f all
mankind minus one were of one opinion, mankind would be no more justified in
silencing that one person than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing
mankind one can gain insights into his justification for this argument, the limitations
that should rightly be placed on free speech, the assumptions that are the basis for this
argument. Throughout Mills essay he argues against the oppressive tyranny of the
government in silencing the opinions of others. He warns that, there needs to be
protection also against the tyrant of the prevailing opinion of feeling; against the
tendency of society to impose... its own ideas on those who dissent from them (Mills
9). Further, Mills justifies this statement by
Toilet Flood Research Paper
On the off chance that you have ever had a toilet flood while you were attempting to
unclog it you recognize what a terrible circumstance that can be, not exclusively do
you need to tidy up the chaos, odds are the toilet will at present be stopped up.
On the off chance that you are a visitor over going by individuals you know or most
exceedingly awful yet individuals you just met and you have stopped up the toilet,
having it flood would be a bad dream no doubt.
Well, this is one of the most straightforward circumstances to maintain a strategic
distance from, you simply need to know a couple of things.
What you have to know when the toilet gets stopped up is:
1) Do Not Flush It Again Using the Handle!
2) You require a plunger obviously.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To know whether the obstruct is unclogged you will either have enough water in
the bowl. It will leave quickly as if you simply flushed it or you have to fill the
toilet with water while holding the plunger over the gap, you at that point expel the
plunger, and the water will quickly leave the bowl, the key is to have the water
sufficiently high to leave the bowl. If you pull the plunger far from the gap and the
water just stays there then set the plunger back in and cover the opening. This time
top the bowl off to the base of the edge and after that evacuate the plunger if the
water quickly leaves then you have unclogged the toilet if not it is as yet stopped up,
and you have to continue diving until the point when it does. All the time is keeping
enough water in the bowl to compel it through the obstruct.
Doing the unclogging the way it was recently clarified the toilet would never flood
since you are controlling the measurement of water entering the bowl, utilizing the
handle you can t control the water entering the bowl.
Endeavoring to flush and hold the flapper down is too unsafe as is stopping the
water, you can cause a hole by simply turning the water valve, you can break or
curve the flush valve parts attempting to hold the flapper close and causing to a
higher degree an issue.
Following the above advances is the least demanding and the most secure approach
to never flood a
Essay on Energy in the United States
Have you ever wondering where your electricity comes from? How your car uses
gasoline to run? What about how these things impact our environment or how we are
going to keep producing them? As a country, we need to start looking ahead to the
future and planning for what is to come. Currently, 86% of America s energycomes
from petroleum, natural gas, and coal. All of these resources will run out eventually.
We need renewable energysources that will keep producing in a clean, more
efficient way for a long time. Before committing to an idea and going all the way
with it, we need to compare all the different energy sources available to the U.S. and
choose the one that is best for everyone.

The way the wind turbine works is when the wind blows, the blades on the wind mill
(or turbine) are spun to run the motor that is attached to the back of the turbine. The
motor transfers its energy through wires to a substation where the energy is
transferred into electricity that can be useful for residential and commercial areas.
The energy is then delivered through wires across the country.
Wind energy is clean and renewable. The wind is never going to stop blowing;
therefore, there will always be enough to keep the turbines going. While some
areas may have more wind than others, there is always wind. Wind turbines do not
produce any pollution or waste, making them one of the cleanest energy sources
on the planet. However, environmentalists are concerned that with the increase of
wind turbines, bird populations with decrease because they are getting hit by the
wind turbines and dying. Because of the huge poles in the ground, turbines can
cause erosion and disrupt wildlife habitats. Wind turbines are also huge; at 30
meters (100 feet) above the ground, with large spinning blades, they can be a bit of
an eyesore. They are also loud and have a deep buffeting sound. But the idea is that
the large wind farms will be located in the middle of nowhere so they don t cause an
issue in suburban areas. Small wind turbines may be located in backyards to feed
houses directly, but these would be so small that they wouldn t bother any
Drug Enforcement Administration ( Dea )
Introduction I have chosen to research and write about to the Oro Valley Police
Department in Oro Valley, Arizona and the Federal agency called the Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA). I will explain the history of each agency, where
these agencies have their jurisdiction, the types of crimes they investigate and
describe the similarities and differences between the Oro Valley PoliceDepartment in
Oro Valley, Arizona and the Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA).
History
The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) has kept the peace since 1974. In
1983, Oro Valley was home to approximately 1,500 residents and the land area was
only 4.5 square miles, since then Oro Valley has grown to approximately 44,000
residents spread out over 36 square miles. The OVPD has grown from five
commission officers to over hundred commission officers. The OVPD is known for
being one of the safest cities in the state of Arizona. From 1974 until now they have
written their mission statement and qualities they want for the town of Oro Valley.

Reality Television Is A Genre Of Programming
When watching tv, we do not reality question what we watch or why we enjoy it.
Simply, shows like The Bachelor and The Jersey Shore are the entertaining pieces
we need to watch after a very long, stressful day. Not only is it comic relief, but these
shows express drama, suspense, and laughter while pushing the element of morally
and socially acceptable situations that keep the viewers fixated. These shows fit the
definition of reality television. Going through the televisionguide, it is amazing to see
how many different reality shows are out there. The reality genre involves three
major categories: game shows, dating shows, and talent shows. In the United
States, reality television now accounts for almost 70 to 80 percent of television
viewership (Klien, 2013). However, reality television did not really exist until the
1900s. While there are a view shows showing back in the 1940s, it was not until the
1990s when reality viewing was a sensation. Reality television is a genre of
programming that is unscripted real life situations featuring individuals during their
lives and countless environments the audience can relate to. Reality tv technology is
real time viewing of all the places the audience is not. It is the ultimate peek into a
neighbor s kitchen window, or bedroom window at that matter (Slocum). Typically,
the cast are not actors, although in some shows celebrities may participate. Over the
decades, reality tv has become a phenomenon that some individuals

endangered in 1992. Since listing, two populations have been extirpated and are
being reintroduced to Concord, New Hampshire, and West Gary, Indiana. A third
population is being reintroduced to Ohio. The threat of the Karner blue butterfly

fragmentation, natural succession and concomitant suppression of the natural
disturbance regime (Smallidge 1996; Clough 1992).

Federal Express is an express transportation company, founded in 1973 by
Frederick W. Smith. During his college years, he recognized that the United States

1964 Legislation And Discrimination
Legislation is needed in the US to secure equal treatment to US citizens and they
keep everyone on track. Legislation is the law and without the law everyone would
be thinking of themselves and nothing would be fair. In the workplace, employees
were being discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, national
origin or sex. Employers were allowed to fire or not employ an individual because
they were a minority. The Civil rightsact of 1964 was passed and banned
discrimination and segregation on the basis of religion, race, national origin and
gender in the workplace. This civil rights act includes Title VII which makes it
illegal for an employer to discriminate against an employee or job applicant. The

A virtuous circle. And BT will also use it to pay dividends to its shareholders and
reward other stakeholders [BT Report. 2017].
BT strategy is founded on broadening and deepening its customer relationships.
To deliver sustainable profitable revenue growth, BT needs stronger relationships
with its customers. That means making sure the company stay relevant to them as
markets, lifestyles and technologies change.
The three pillars of BT s strategy help the company to do that: delivering superior
customer service; transforming our costs; and investing for growth. The better our
customer service, the more the company sells and the less time and money is spend
in putting things right. And the better the company manages its costs, the better
value for money BT can offer to its customers and the more it invest in giving
customers what they need today and tomorrow. These are the principles that drive BT
business model [BT Report. 2017].
For 2017/18 BT s strategy is evolving. The three pillars remain broadly the same but
with a wider focus on the overall customer experience rather than just on customer
service. And with the acquisition of EE limited, the company s investment areas are
evolving to focus on having the best integrated network in the UK and being a fully

The Consequences Of Smoking Weed
I was twelve years old when I first started smoking weed. I was only smoking with

When one looks at how the media continues to

When one looks at how the media continues to communicate certain messages to the
American public, it is remarkable how some trends have continued for decades. This
is particularly true concerning images and graphics and the subtle messages that they
carry in the world of print communications. The unfortunate reality is that the media
is no different from many institutions in American society in that it has to sell
products to the public in order to stay financially stable. As a means of doing so, the
media provides audiences with images that often satisfy their desires and meet their
expectations. Consequently, the inclusion of such stereotypes creates a vicious cycle
as the audience continues to be exposed to such messages and... Show more content

The country will always know about African American basketball players who
reside in coastal cities such as New York or Los Angeles, but the small town

to keep their man s physical talents top secret. As both Larry and Doug are
positioned in a traditional masculine manner by having their brawny arms flexed
around their hips, the cheerleaders surrounding them are bending down to show off
their sexy and fit bodies. The message remains through the decades that in terms of
our athletic heroes, it is the women s job to serve the supporting role of serving in
their best interests. As Potter explains, the media has remained just as influential as
it ever has in terms of reaching a vast number of people. People continue to spend
more and more time with the media. Over the past three decades, every new survey of
media use has shown that the average person is increasing exposure every year

more powerful in its efforts to disseminate messages that perpetuate stereotypes and
reinforce the audience s previously held beliefs. Unfortunately, Sports Illustrated

What Makes Architecture Real
Project Report:
Jon 9. Grade
Architecture
Architecture is a word of common knowledge, as I think it should and is at least for
the people around me that i know. For me the word is always associated with
architect, because an architect is the one who makes architecture real. Architecture as
people understand it nowadays probably came to life with the species homo
sapiens because they are self conscious, before it was just a very primitive thing.
You could say DNA is an architect because it builds, in fact it is probably the best
and wisest architect humans know of, therefore we are also architecture because
anything that is built and is physical can be architecture by definition even Wikipedia
states that. This is is all very philosophical.
All form of art are connected with philosophy and so is architecture. Architecture is
considered art, plus everything that involves with it like the process of designing.
Architecture was the first art form on this planet, everything existing is in reality
architecture, noone never said architecture had to be created by a conscious being. If
universe just came into existence, therefore nothingness itself is an architect.
Therefore nothingness could be conscious, just vacuum or something more. ... Show

Symptoms And Treatment Of Clostridium Difficile
Ever since I ve been working in long term care facilities and hospitals for almost
fourteen years, my multiple encounters with Clostridium difficile become prevalent
as the years go by. The incidence of its unprecedented spread has increased
dramatically in the past decade. This observation was proven by the recent National
and State Healthcare Associated Infections Progress Report, published March, 2014
by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which suggests that C. difficile
has replaced methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus as the most common cause
of the health care associated infection, specifically showing the national standardized
infection ratio of 0.98 for hospital onset C. diff infection against 0.96 for MRSA
bloodstream infection. The etymology of the rising new superbug Clostridium difficile
, also known as C. diff is derived from the Greek word klЕЌstД“r which means
spindle and Latin difficile, difficult, obstinate . The genus name, Clostridium is
used because under the microscope, the colonies of these bacteria looks like
spindles used in cloth weaving and long sticks with a bulge at the end. The species
name difficile owing to the fact that when first identified by Hall and O Toole in
1935 the organism was hard to isolate and grew slowly in pure culture. Based on

Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome
Hutchinson Gilford Progeria syndrome (HGPS) is a very rare and destructive
genetic disorder. It is progressive, causing children to age rapidly beginning 2 years
after birth. Children with Progeria usually appear normal at birth, however by 1 year
the signs and symptoms of Progeria begin. Symptoms of Progeriainclude short
stature, bulging eyes, micrognathia, disproportion of head to body, alopecia,
beaked nose, pathologic bone fractures, hearing loss, photophobia and
hypertension. (Alves and others 2014) Progeria s occurrence is 1 in 4 million to 1
in 8 million live births and males are more frequently affected than females. The
average life expectancy for a child with Progeria is about 13. (King 2013) However
some with the disease die younger and some live to be 20 years or older. Death in
Progeria is primarily caused by heart attacks and atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a
disease in which the arteries become hardened. (Bhimji 2011) Although Progeria
demonstrates both autosomal dominant and autosomal recessive methods of
inheritance, most cases are due to random mutations (Alves and others 2014) In
2003 it was discovered that Progeria is caused by a single base mutation in LMNA
which results in the production of a mutant Lamin A protein product called Progerin.
(Blondel and others 2014) Progerin is toxic and causes distribution of the nuclear
structure, defects in DNA repairprocesses and other issues that are associated with the

give way to a symbolic complex. This complex is set by what people or Layman
believe the experts have set. Therefore, their experienceis only validated if people
feel that they have met those criteria. He believes that people can only have a true

Entry One: In order for you to understand my current situation and life, it is
imperative you know the backstory. Though far from glamorous, my past has
greatly shaped the woman and leader I am today. Born to a peasant mother and
bear trainer father in Constantinople, my opportunities were limited. Advancing in
social class was not an option in this human jungle and my family s main goal was
survival. Once my father died, it became my older sister s and my responsibility to
provide for our family. Comito travelled through local theater s performing but I
lacked the talent to dance or sing so my roles were only as minor characters.
Eventually, I gained popularity from my wit and charisma on the stage and began
performing on my own, though my shows were notoriously daring [and]
immodest. My success in the theater became success as a courtesan as those roles
often went hand in hand. I was highly paid for my supper parties. 3 I did not enjoy
this humiliating job, but my lifestyle was not unique. As a family of women, work
was highly limited and often times prostitution was the only option. Eventually I
met Hecebolus and left my work as a courtesan and followed him to Tyre. I
assumed I had escaped my previous life of selling my body and performing on
stage when I moved in with Hecebolus but the liberation was short lived. Following
an argument, I was on the street and once again on my own forced to support myself

Military Spending Definition
The neoclassical theorists have different opinions about the military spending and
economic wellbeing, and they perceive defense expenditure as a civic good that is
provided by the state. Therefore, the regime seems like a rational player, who tries to
capitalize on the interests of the state by balancing the security benefits and
opportunity costs of the military spending (Nincic, Miroslav, and Thomas 1979). The
supply side models of the monetary growth and military defence association within a
neoclassical theory normally derive from functions of whole production (Griffin,
Larry, Joel, Devine and Michael1982). Marxism believes that defense spending and
militarism is a social phenomenon that has historical characteristic, and they dwell

between income military spending and income disparity. Vadlamannati (2008) also

the backing of the constructive connection between economic well being and military

may be attributed to the method applied, sample size, functional form used in

such, the empirical studies should be treated with the tested underpinning hypotheses

The Greek God Zeus was smitten by a nymph called Callisto. Zeus s wife Hera
then turned Callisto into a bear out of jealousy. While she was a bear Callisto
encountered her son Arcas, who wanted to kill the bear out of pure instinct. Zeus
wanting to stop Arcas from killing Callisto, turned Arcas into a bear too and placed
mother (Ursa Major) and son (Ursa Minor) permanently in the night sky to keep
Callisto safe.
Goddess Aphrodite was admired by all, she could bring the whole nation down to
their knees with her beauty. She was married to the God Hephaestus which was
arranged by Zeus once he realized the threat that she imposed with her beauty.
Aphrodite refused to marry Hephaestus when she was first approached by Zeus.
She loved a mortal man Adonis, and they had a child. Zeus became so outraged at
Aphrodite s refusal to marry his son, the God of the Forge that he slaughtered the
family of Adonis turned him into a bear so that he could never speak , and sent

  • 1. Engineering Essays Crafting an essay on the subject of "Engineering Essays" can be quite challenging, requiring a delicate balance between technical precision and effective communication. The intricacies involved in discussing engineering concepts, principles, and their practical applications demand a solid understanding of the subject matter. One of the key difficulties lies in presenting complex engineering ideas in a way that is accessible to a diverse audience. Striking the right tone, avoiding excessive jargon, and providing clear explanations are essential components of a successful engineering essay. This challenge is compounded by the need to maintain a cohesive and logical flow throughout the essay, ensuring that each point builds upon the previous one. Moreover, the research involved can be extensive. Engineering is a rapidly evolving field, and staying abreast of the latest developments, breakthroughs, and advancements is crucial. It requires a thorough investigation of scholarly articles, academic journals, and authoritative sources to provide accurate and up-to-date information. Additionally, balancing theoretical concepts with practical examples can be demanding. Integrating real-world applications of engineering principles not only requires a deep understanding of the subject but also the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into tangible scenarios that resonate with the reader. Furthermore, adhering to specific formatting and citation styles, such as APA, MLA, or IEEE, adds another layer of complexity. Precise citation of sources and proper referencing are vital to maintaining academic integrity, and mastering these details can be time-consuming. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Engineering Essays" demands a combination of technical expertise, effective communication skills, extensive research, and meticulous attention to detail. • 2. Persuasive Essay On Pitbulls Dogs come in just about every size and shape you can imagine. There are fluffy ones, sleek ones, fast ones, heavy ones, long ones, short ones, and everything in between. But with each breed comes a different public view of how safe or aggressive that dog may be. Each breed of dog has a unique history, and with that, a reputation. In the novel The Lord of the Flies, young boys are stranded somewhere totally new, both in its physical and social environments, and once civilization is stripped away, a clear dividing line separates those who fight the savagery from those who embrace it. The physical environmentof the island greatly impacted the characters and their storylines in The Lord of the Flies. The climate of the island meant that the boys did not needto struggle to stay alive, so they were not unified in the desire to survive. The article The New Psychology of Leadershipstates social identity also allows people to identify and act together as group members (pg.3) If they had needed to focus on staying warm, for example, the boys would have had a group identity in the original tribe. However, the island they crashed on was warm and habitable, so the boys did not have a group identity, until Jack shaped one with his tribe. The island they were on was also inhabited by pigs, so there was an outlet for Jack s aggression, leading to his increasing tendency to be cruel. Jack was emotionally driven in the beginning of the book, and exercising the power he had through the hunting of pigs only increased that hunger for power, which led to the division of the boys. Standardized tests can be found at any level of a student s academic career, but are they accurate indicators of a student s academic abilities? Standardized tests are used to measure a student s academic abilities, and overall knowledge. In theory, a student s skills can be determined by examining the limited data collected from the test. However, standardized test do not fully represent a student s abilities, and cumulative knowledge. Many factors may affect the validity of the scores, and the accuracy of the assessment. Instructor s teaching directly for the test, being able to guess on multiple choice questions, examining only test scores, and ignoring other academic factors contribute to the biased representation of students academic abilities. Because instructors are teaching directly for the test, the data collected may not be an accurate representation of the student s true abilities. As standardized test grow in popularity among the school system, the pressure to achieve high scores rapidly builds. The importance of high scores goes beyond individual students performances, and teacher evaluations. Serious repercussions could result from poor scores, or performances. For example, schools that continue to fail to improve may be closed, and districts that continue to fail may be subject to state takeover (Posner). With the weight of the success of the school on their shoulders,

Secondly, I have learned that at certain points during an interview, formal or informal, it is necessary to give up the agenda and follow the natural flow of the conversation. Letting the interviewee fully articulate their thoughts without interruption is the best way to stimulate meaningful responses. From this experience I learned that it is important to remain conscious of the original agenda while anticipating change in order to adapt preemptively. In some cases, particularly for larger research agendas, investigating the topic before the interview process could benefit the findings. Although my specific topic is more personal to individuals than other ethnographies, prior research could include statistics of siblings at college institutions and various other numbers supporting or negating whether or not it is a positive thing for family members to go to college together. Were tyrannies or democracies more prevalent? When and where exactly? Let s take a look. Tyranny is the rule by one powerful dictator, called tyrant. Tyrant is defined as a ruler who has seized power without legal right. Where tyrants appeared? In fact, many states, in the 6th century BC particularly, were ruled by a tyrant, including Pisistratus in Athens. A tyrant takes power by force. He is usually from a noble family but often had the support of poor people. In a Tyranny power is not inherited, unlike a monarchy. Unlike the meaning of tyranny in modern day, it was not always an oppressive and brutal rule. For example, Pisistratus rule in Athens. According to the British Museum tyrannies first appeared in Argos or Corinth, then Sicyon, Megara, Mytilene and Miletus. Sparta avoided tyranny, probably to strengthen the unity of citizens against helots. Pisistratus became tyrant in Athens 3 times, starting around 560 BC. Their vision, mission, behavior as a company, beliefs, and convictions all stem from their ethics. Not all companies have this foundation. To some, it is not believed to be essential for success. Ethics is important in business because our day to day life involves these businesses. The places we go to buy clothes, food, cars, computers, and services are all different kinds of businesses that we support financially. How many of the businesses around us have a strong foundation of ethics? How do we know that these companies don t have workers working excruciating hours behind the scenes to produce the things that are seen on the shelves? How do we know that they are treating their workers with kindness and respect, as well as customers? Business ethicsare important for not only the workers of those companies, but for their consumers. A typical preferred shareholder doesn t vote on the composition of the company s board or other matters. They are more interested in receiving regular dividends, since these dividends do not fluctuate based on the company s profits; each preferred shareholder is entitled to a fixed amount at certain periods, just so long as the company has the money to do so. Dividends are, also, paid to preferred stockholders before they are paid to common stockholders. Preferred stock is issued with a specific dividend rate. The dividend rate may be stated as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the par value. When dividends are paid, preferred stockholders are paid the amount applicable to their class of preferred stock. Several advantages to issuing preferred stock include: no dilution of management s interest in corporate growth or in voting power (if non voting preferred stock is issued), and predictable dividend payments and preferences upon liquidation (for which investors may pay a premium). The On Liberty By John Stuart Mills ON LIBERTY In John Stuart Mills profound work, On Liberty he preaches against the conformity of the nations and outwardly encourages and restlessly defends voice of the individual. The philosopher expresses the importance of individuality by warning against forces such as the government and other citizens silencing their opinion. Though Mill s gives due recognition to virtues such as free speech, liberty and individualism he also rightly places limitations on our freedoms to ensure our own freedoms do not infringe upon the ones of those around us. In essence, I believe that Mill s insightfully provides a logical answer to society on how to live and how to allow others to live; freely unless harm will ensue. By Mills statement that, [i]f all mankind minus one were of one opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind one can gain insights into his justification for this argument, the limitations that should rightly be placed on free speech, the assumptions that are the basis for this argument. Throughout Mills essay he argues against the oppressive tyranny of the government in silencing the opinions of others. He warns that, there needs to be protection also against the tyrant of the prevailing opinion of feeling; against the tendency of society to impose... its own ideas on those who dissent from them (Mills 9). Further, Mills justifies this statement by

To know whether the obstruct is unclogged you will either have enough water in the bowl. It will leave quickly as if you simply flushed it or you have to fill the toilet with water while holding the plunger over the gap, you at that point expel the plunger, and the water will quickly leave the bowl, the key is to have the water sufficiently high to leave the bowl. If you pull the plunger far from the gap and the water just stays there then set the plunger back in and cover the opening. This time top the bowl off to the base of the edge and after that evacuate the plunger if the water quickly leaves then you have unclogged the toilet if not it is as yet stopped up, and you have to continue diving until the point when it does. All the time is keeping enough water in the bowl to compel it through the obstruct. Doing the unclogging the way it was recently clarified the toilet would never flood since you are controlling the measurement of water entering the bowl, utilizing the handle you can t control the water entering the bowl. The way the wind turbine works is when the wind blows, the blades on the wind mill (or turbine) are spun to run the motor that is attached to the back of the turbine. The motor transfers its energy through wires to a substation where the energy is transferred into electricity that can be useful for residential and commercial areas. The energy is then delivered through wires across the country. Wind energy is clean and renewable. The wind is never going to stop blowing; therefore, there will always be enough to keep the turbines going. While some areas may have more wind than others, there is always wind. Wind turbines do not produce any pollution or waste, making them one of the cleanest energy sources on the planet. However, environmentalists are concerned that with the increase of wind turbines, bird populations with decrease because they are getting hit by the wind turbines and dying. Because of the huge poles in the ground, turbines can cause erosion and disrupt wildlife habitats. Wind turbines are also huge; at 30 meters (100 feet) above the ground, with large spinning blades, they can be a bit of an eyesore. They are also loud and have a deep buffeting sound. But the idea is that the large wind farms will be located in the middle of nowhere so they don t cause an issue in suburban areas. Small wind turbines may be located in backyards to feed houses directly, but these would be so small that they wouldn t bother any

Symptoms And Treatment Of Clostridium Difficile Ever since I ve been working in long term care facilities and hospitals for almost fourteen years, my multiple encounters with Clostridium difficile become prevalent as the years go by. The incidence of its unprecedented spread has increased dramatically in the past decade. This observation was proven by the recent National and State Healthcare Associated Infections Progress Report, published March, 2014 by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which suggests that C. difficile has replaced methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus as the most common cause of the health care associated infection, specifically showing the national standardized infection ratio of 0.98 for hospital onset C. diff infection against 0.96 for MRSA bloodstream infection. The etymology of the rising new superbug Clostridium difficile , also known as C. diff is derived from the Greek word klЕЌstД“r which means spindle and Latin difficile, difficult, obstinate . The genus name, Clostridium is used because under the microscope, the colonies of these bacteria looks like spindles used in cloth weaving and long sticks with a bulge at the end.
