In the 18th century, sending handwritten letters was the main form of
communication. Whether it was to a loved one, relative, or a friend, handwritten
letters was the form it was communicated. In the novel, The Coquette by Hannah
Webster Foster, Eliza was constantly communicating to her friend Lucy through
handwritten letters. However, today with all the technology we have, do you believe

Australia has a legal obligation towards Asylum Seekers and Refugees as it is a
signatory to the UN Human Rights and Refugee Conventions. Furthermore, Australia
has a moral obligation based on its membership of the world community.
Australia is one of the 146 signatory countries to the United Nations 1951
Convention and or/ 1967 Protocol relating to the status of refugees . (Asylum Seeker

who has fled their country and applies to the government of another country for

used to punish people, but instead it is administrative function whereby those
people do not have a valid visa were detained and assessed and if proven to be legal
they have a rights to stay and if not they will be immediately removed from the
country. The concern is to reconcile what the requirements of the UN and those of
the Migration Act. As at 30 of April 2012 a total of 6716 people were detained in
Immigration detaining centres and 1019 of them are children that are parentless. An
individual can be detained for a few days, months or even longer. (Department of

In May 2004 the then immigration spokesperson, now Prime Minster Julia Gillard,
said that Labor will end the so called Pacific Solution the processing and detaining
of Asylum seekers on Pacific islands because it is costly, unsustainable and wrong
as a matter of principle . Back then Labor party closed down the Nauru centre and
processed all asylum seekers onshore and at Christmas Island. And now the Labor
Party is implementing the pacific solution again and it is also known that
unaccompanied children and minors are being sent offshore to process their papers.

The Arabian Gulf region is currently in a fragile status. Iran is emerging as a
regional hegemony trying to expand its sphere of influence over the GCC states and
even beyond to the entire Middle East, increasing the tension with its neighbors. Its
growing military capabilities along with its nuclear program and ballistic missile
technology have risen the instability in the region. On the other side, the GCC lead
by Saudi Arabia, along with Israel, have their own fears, from the sectarian tensions
that can destroy the GCC stability, especially in KSA and Bahrain, to the threat to the

The other conflicts in the area, Afghanistan and Somalia, are not as important but
remain a source of instability to the region.
The USCENTCOM second element is the myriad tensions in the region. The first is
the control of the maritime commercial line of communication in the Strait of
Hormuz. This strait is the only exit of nearly quarter of the oil exports from the GCC
and Iran to the outside world, which make it vital to the oil tankers sailing to and
from the Arabian Gulf. The second is the sectarian tension between the Sunni and
Shia population in the region, especially in the eastern part of KSA and Bahrain,
where the majority in these regions are Shia. The proximity of these two regions is
what make them a point of concern along with its proximity to Iran. The third
tension is between Saudi Arabia and Iran embodied by the regional power
competition and the conflict over the sphere of influence in the region. This tension
is fueled by the robust expansion of the IRGC Quds Force and the sponsorship of
proxy groups like Houthis in Yemen, along with the Iranian nuclear program and the
buildup of its military capabilities, and its support for Shia in the region. The fourth
is the tension between Iran and Qatar and UAE on the energy resources in the
Arabian Gulf and the islands of Abu Musa, Tumb, and Qeshm. Also important to
mention the tension between the KSA, UAE, Bahrain in one side and Qatar from the
other side

Porphyria s Lover And Neutral Tones
The loss of a loved one is perhaps the most difficult experience that humans ever
come up against. The poem Porphyria s Lover, written by Robert Browning, adds a
sense of irony to this. At the most superficial layer, the speaker s in both Porphyria
s Lover and Neutral Tones, written by Thomas hardy, both deal with loss. The tones
in Neutral Tones seem to be indifferent, or Neutral. Porphyria s Lover speaker ends
up murdering his beloved at the end the poem. While this isn t the case with the
speakerin Neutral Tones, the two speakers are much more similar than we might
think. The speaker in Neutral Tones doesn t outright murder his lover, but there is
a considerable amount of disdain and contempt towards his supposed lover. The
speaker in Porphyria s Lover is quite obviously a disturbed man, the sinister nature
of the speaker in Neutral Tones, however, is not as clear. Delving further into this
idea, I will also discuss other obscure parallels throughout the two poems. To start
off with, the two speakers both have incredibly negative and destructive ways of
viewing the world. The speaker of Neutral Tones views the world as though it is
devoid of life and glee. He makes references throughout the poem that suggest this.
And the sunwas white, as though chidden of God (2) is a perfect instance of how the
speaker in Neutral Tones views the world. The sunis usually the source of all light
and warmth in the world. The speaker does not see the sun in this way. Since he sees
