1. Online Tutorials
In order to make my magazine look as professionally designed
as possible I must expand my skills effectively but also need to
set foundations for the final product to make it even better.

2. Outside Lighting

I then wanted to look into outside lighting, how to
use it to an advantage and how not to use it at all,
the second video did this well and I feel confident I
can find an angle where I will get the best outcome. I
will also have to check the weather and set a time of
day to do this correctly.

3. Indoor Lighting

I have decided that one of my shoots will be indoors
and the other outdoors, so I looked on youtube for a
video that helps find and create good lighting, it also
explains that the light can be overbearing etc. I need
to make sure I don't go overboard with lighting and
find an appropriate place to set up the indoor shoot.

THIS CAN BE SEEN THROUGH
THE REFLECTION ON THE
FLOOR. THE BALL IS THE
PROMINENT IN THIS PICTURE
AND DEFINITELY STANDS OUT
MORE THAN THE NEXT
PICTURE.

5. THIS WAS TAKEN WITH THE
SAME LAMP AT THE SIDE BUT
WITHOUT FLASH, THE BALL
HAS A REFLECTION ON THE
TOP AND IS BEING
SHADOWED ON THE RIGHT
HALF AND ALSO CREATES A
SHADOW AT THE SIDE.
THE FIRST PICTURE IS BETTER
AS IT MAKES THE BALL STAND
OUT MORE AND DOESN’T
LEAVE ANY SHADOWS OR
REFLECTIONS ON THE BALL.

6. Male makeup

When I start the shoot I need to apply makeup, as
the people I am photographing are male I wanted to
research into some tutorials which makes the
makeup look completely natural and masculine. I will
apply this to the band in order to make the
photographs look professionally finished.

7. Photoshop Editing

The next video is a quite a short edit in photoshop of
a band, obviously this person only edited one of the
band members' face which I will be doing to all four
but the technique he uses is very effective. I will go
through this process when I start editing my pictures
and will refer back to this.
