• The University of Phoenix, established their Online campus in 1988
• Purdue and Memphis State University started offering Online
courses during the same time
• Stanford University began offering Master’s level programs through
the Internet from the same year
• In February, 1997, the Orange County Public Schools in Florida
started delivering online courses
• Today, Yahoo, a World Wide Web Search Engine, lists over 300 sites
under Distance Education.
