The document discusses using new technologies in teaching English as a foreign language. It describes how technology and English are present in daily life, including education, so it is important to keep acquiring new knowledge about digital literacy and ways to teach using technology to meet student needs. The author learned about choosing effective teaching styles that engage students innovatively through technology, selecting relevant materials and contents. While still wanting practical classroom experience as an English teacher, the author wants to motivate students using new technologies and open discussions about subjects. Two digital resources, News in Levels and Lyrics Training apps, are presented as examples that effectively and enjoyably teach English.

2. During this module we saw that technology, as well as English, is present in our daily lives, including in
education, so it is necessary to be always in search of new knowledge. Today we live in an age of
immigrants and digital natives, so I have learned that it is important to know about the principles of
Digital Literacy, to develop new ways of teaching through technology, taking into account the
students' learning needs. A good example is learning English through Games, in which many students
use language meaningfully.
This learning helped me to think how could I choose an effective teaching style, involving the students
in an innovative way through technology, how to select a material and pertinent contents for class,
developing critical thinking of the students. I still would like to learn in practice how I can integrate
technology as part of the lesson plan, because I do not have much experience in the classroom as an
English teacher and would like to engage students in classrooms using new technologies, opening space for
discussions about the subject addressed, reaching the objectives of each class.

4. In relation to my professional development as an English language teacher, I try to develop a
better understanding of different teaching styles, involving the student in different types of
activities that aim to improve their level of development with the English language.
Technology in this sense becomes one of the most innovative ways to teach, since it brings
activities through technological and digital resources that motivate students to learn more. As
a student and teacher, I can present as an example 2 digital resources accessed through the
internet, which motivated me to learn and teach English in an effective and fun way.
5. News in Levels:
“News in Levels” is an application to improve the students' English naturally and fast. There are
short news in which some important words are highlighted, used in English often. Students of
all levels can enjoy reading and listening and to news. It's a good way to improve listening
through the videos, podcasts, songs. And they can practice reading too because it brings an
amount of real news all of the world.

6. Lyrics Training
Lyrics Training is an application for learning English that help users improve listening skill,
pronunciation and vocabulary by watching and listening to a music video with lyrics. It’s an
interesting app, because the student can choose and listen to a song that he enjoys and at
the same time trains his skills with the English language. It also makes the person pay
attention to the English lyrics so that he can fill in the blanks that complete the song.

7. SELF-ASSESSMENT
During this last module regarding the use of technologies in education, I can measure my
learning with grade 8. I have been studying the use of technologies in English language
teaching since the time I researched what my subject would be to address in the Postgraduate
Paper. I decided then to research more to develop my work because unfortunately would not
give time to watch the classes about technologies before sending my article.
So in this module I was able to review subjects and some authors that I already knew due to my
research. However, I was also able to learn and understand many things that I did not know
before these classes. I confess that I couldn’t study all the material in the way I would like it to,
but it was a very valid module for me, because it brought information that added even more to
my professional development.
