Demands of help can be considerable because the
participants seeking searching and selection skills
may be low

•Indicate why a participant might want
to access, read or use them –the benefit
•Indicate your view/opinion on the
quality and validity of the information
•Workout how you can use the resource
to encourage participation.

information for e-moderators.
Task: our aim is to build a list of our
favorite sources of information on the
Internet for e-moderators. Aim to find one
source and post the URL in a message.
Respond: pick out at least one source from
another participant and comment on your
view of it. Suggest how it might be used as a
‘spark’ for contribution or to promote
interaction

identifying the sources of each one

a given model
Task: Go through the model carefully and list the key
concepts with a brief description
Respond: Respond to any 2 posts of the participants
who have mentioned different concepts then yours.
Suggest an alternative view on any other posts which
you like.

for the key terms in our course

Participant Needs; Stage 3: Information Exchange 9/4/2013 5SNDTWU •Knowledge of tools for remote access to information •Knowledge of strategies for purposeful information retrieval •The moderator to provide direction through the mass of messages •Encouragement to start using the most relevant material. What is Information Exchange? Demands of help can be considerable because the participants seeking searching and selection skills may be low

Task: our aim is to build a list of our favorite sources of information on the Internet for e-moderators. Aim to find one source and post the URL in a message. Respond: pick out at least one source from another participant and comment on your view of it. Suggest how it might be used as a ‘spark’ for contribution or to promote interaction E-tivities
