• Amoeba is a unicellular organism
comes under the kingdom protista in
the class protozoans .
• They does not have any definite
shape.
• Their predation of food is through the
process known as phagocytosis.
• Algae , bacteria and small protozoa
are the main food of amoeba
• Digestion of amoeba is intracellular
because it takes place inside the body.
• Digestion takes place inside the food
vacuole present in the cytoplasm.
• The food vacuole contains enzymes
that can digest carbohydrates, lipids
and proteins.
• The nutrients are absorbed into the
cytoplasm surrounding the food
vacuole.
• The waste materials are expelled
through the body surface.
