NUEPA
• NIEPA or National Institute of Educational Planning and
Administration is a research-focused university which is located
in New Delhi, India.
• NIEPA is an autonomous organization setup and fully financed by
the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of
Human Resource Development in the year 1962.
• In 2006, NIEPA was made a university with the present name of
National University of Educational Planning and
Administration (NUEPA).

OBJECTIVES
• To organize pre-service and in-service training programmes in the
area of Educational planning and administration (EPA).
• To organize training, conferences, workshops, meetings, seminars
and briefing sessions for educational personnel of the Central and
State Governments and Union Territories.
• To undertake and promote research in various aspects of EPA.
• To provide academic and professional guidance to agencies,
institutions and personnel engaged in EPA.
• To prepare, print and publish papers, periodicals and books in
furtherance of these objectives and especially to bring out a Journal
on EPA.
• To collaborate with other agencies, institutions and organizations,
in India and abroad.
• To offer fellowships, scholarships and academic awards..
• To share experience and expertise in the area of EPA with other
countries and to conduct comparative studies.

1. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PLANNING
• It is one of the fundamental divisions of NUEPA
• The main function of the department is the integration of inputs,
processes and products of planning at all levels.
2. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FINANCE
• To conduct and promote research on economic and financial aspects of
education
• focuses its activities like research, teaching and training, around issues
relating to public and private financing of education.
3. DEPARTMENT OF SCHOOL AND NON-FORMAL
EDUCATION
• focuses on critical issues of school education, non-formal and adult
literacy.
• extends support to the state and central government in formulating and
implementing plans and policies.
4. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEM
• undertakes research, capacity building activities and provides technical
advice to strengthen management system on education in India.
• developed an information system called District Information System
for Education (DISE).
5. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION
• This department focuses on training and research on educational
management and also planning and management of resources in
education.
6. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL POLICY
• The main activity of the department is training, research and
dissemination.
• The department stimulates discussion on policy issues.
7. DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER AND PROFESSIONAL
EDUCATION
• provides research support and policy advice to the Ministry of Human
Resource Development, Government of India
• It has provided academic support to regional conferences of UNESCO
and world conference on Higher Education and Planning Commission.
8. DEPARTMENT OF TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING
IN EDUCATION
• Its mission is to expand the scope and coverage of training programmes
and capacity building initiatives of NUEPA.
