With increasing adoption of multicarrier-based communications e.g. 3G and 4G, the users are significantly benefited with impressive data rate but at the cost of battery life of their mobile devices. We reviewed the existing techniques to find an open research gap in this regard. This paper presents a novel framework where an optimization is carried out with the objective function to maintain higher level of equilibrium between maximized data delivery and minimized transmit power. An analytical model considering multiple radio antennae in the mobile device is presented with constraint formulations of data quality and threshold power factor. The model outcome is evaluated with respect to amount of power being conserved as performance factor. The study was found to offer maximum energy conservation and the framework also suits well with existing communication system of mobile networks.

Energy-aware strategy for data forwarding in IoT ecosystem IJECEIAES
The Internet of Things (IoT) is looming technology rapidly attracting many industries and drawing research attention. Although the scale of IoT-applications is very large, the capabilities of the IoT-devices are limited, especially in terms of energy. However, various research works have been done to alleviate these shortcomings, but the schemes introduced in the literature are complex and difficult to implement in practical scenarios. Therefore, considering the energy consumption of heterogeneous nodes in IoT eco-system, a simple energy-efficient routing technique is proposed. The proposed system has also employed an SDN controller that acts as a centralized manager to control and monitor network services, there by restricting the access of selfish nodes to the network. The proposed system constructs an analytical algorithm that provides reliable data transmission operations and controls energy consumption using a strategic mechanism where the path selection process is performed based on the remaining energy of adjacent nodes located in the direction of the destination node. The proposed energy-efficient data forwarding mechanism is compared with the existing AODV routing technique. Energy efficient power control for device to device communication in 5G netw...IJECEIAES
Next generation cellular networks require high capacity, enhanced efficiency of energy and guaranteed quality of service (QoS). To reach these goals, device-to device (D2D) communication is a candidate technologie for future 5th Generation especially applications that require the reuse, the hop and the proximity gain. The present paper studies the energy efficient power control for the uplink of an OFDMA (orthogonal frequency-division multiple access) system composed of both regular cellular users and device-to-device (D2D) pairs. First, we analyze and model mathematically the prerequisites for D2D communications and classical cellular links in terms of minimum rate and maximum power requirement. Second, we use fractional programming in order to convert the initial problem into a concave one and we apply non-cooperative game theory in order to characterize the equilibrium. Then, we got the solution of the problem from the results of a water-filling power allocation. Moreover, we employ a distributed design for power allocation by means of three methods: a) Theory of fractional programming b) Closed form expression (the novelty is the use of Wright Omega function). c) Inverse water filling. A Framework for Optimizing the Process of Energy Harvesting from Ambient RF S...IJECEIAES
Energy harvesting has been an active research topic in the past half a decade with respect to wireless networks. We reviewed some of the recent techniques towards improving energy harvesting performance to find that there is a large scope of improvement in terms of optimization and addressing problems pertaining to low-powered communicating mobile nodes. Therefore, we present a framework for identifying available RF sources of energy and constructing a robust link between the energy source and the mobile device. We apply linear optimization approach to enhance the performance of energy harvesting. Probabilility theory is used for identification of event loss in the presence of different number of nodes as well as node distances. The objective of the proposed system is to offer better availability of RF signals as well as better probability of energy harvesting for mobile devices. The proposed technique is also found to be computationally cost effective.
Power Consumption Modeling and Analysis of Integrated Optical-Wireless Access...IJECEIAES
The integration of optical and wireless technologies at access networks are considered as a future solution which provide both high bandwidth and high mobility in an efficient way. GPON is a suitable candidate for optical backhaul due to the combination of higher data rates, greater split ratio and support for triple play services hence it offers maximum flexibility and cost advantages. On the other hand, recent developments of new radio access technologies and introduction of femtocell base stations provide the potential of offering broadband services and applications to everyone and everywhere. However, the power consumption of this network demands a particular attention because access networks are the largest contributor the network related electricity consumption. Therefore, in this paper we evaluate the power consumption of integrated optical-wireless access network which is based on independent ONU-BS architecture. We proposed a power consumption model for such network and the assessment has been done under different simulation scenarios. The constructed model will provide insight of the energy performance of the integrated access network so that in the network design process, focus can be done to the most energy saving strategies.
In this paper we discuss about how to increase the reliability, energy-efficiency in a wireless sensor network. Since energy saving has become the top factor on demand due to the increasing multimedia services in mobile devices. The existing batteries unfortunately do not provide the desirable lifetime. Therefore reducing energy consumption has become very crucial factor in all the tasks the mobile devices perform. This work presents an Opportunistic Routing Protocol, which supports energy consumption by increasing the networks performance and also providing reliability to the wireless sensor networks.

Dynamic resource allocation for opportunistic software-defined IoT networks: s...IJECEIAES
Several wireless technologies have recently emerged to enable efficient and scalable Internet-of-Things (IoT) networking. Cognitive radio (CR) technology, enabled by software-defined radios, is considered one of the main IoT-enabling technologies that can provide opportunistic wireless access to a large number of connected IoT devices. An important challenge in this domain is how to dynamically enable IoT transmissions while achieving efficient spectrum usage with a minimum total power consumption under interference and traffic demand uncertainty. Toward this end, we propose a dynamic bandwidth/channel/power allocation algorithm that aims at maximizing the overall network’s throughput while selecting the set of power resulting in the minimum total transmission power. This problem can be formulated as a two-stage binary linear stochastic programming. Because the interference over different channels is a continuous random variable and noting that the interference statistics are highly correlated, a suboptimal sampling solution is proposed. Our proposed algorithm is an adaptive algorithm that is to be periodically conducted over time to consider the changes of the channel and interference conditions. Numerical results indicate that our proposed algorithm significantly increases the number of simultaneous IoT transmissions compared to a typical algorithm, and hence, the achieved throughput is improved.
Social-sine cosine algorithm-based cross layer resource allocation in wireles...IJECEIAES
Cross layer resource allocation in the wireless networks is approached traditionally either by communications networks or information theory. The major issue in networking is the allocation of limited resources from the users of network. In traditional layered network, the resource are allocated at medium access control (MAC) and the network layers uses the communication links in bit pipes for delivering the data at fixed rate with the occasional random errors. Hence, this paper presents the cross-layer resource allocation in wireless network based on the proposed social-sine cosine algorithm (SSCA). The proposed SSCA is designed by integrating social ski driver (SSD) and sine cosine algorithm (SCA). Also, for further refining the resource allocation scheme, the proposed SSCA uses the fitness based on energy and fairness in which max-min, hard-fairness, proportional fairness, mixed-bias and the maximum throughput is considered. Based on energy and fairness, the cross-layer optimization entity makes the decision on resource allocation to mitigate the sum rate of network. The performance of resource allocation based on proposed model is evaluated based on energy, throughput, and the fairness. The developed model achieves the maximal energy of 258213, maximal throughput of 3.703, and the maximal fairness of 0.868, respectively.

Beamforming for millimetre-wave (mmWave) frequencies has been studied for many years. It is considered as an important enabling technology for communications in these high-frequency ranges and it received a lot of attention in the research community. The special characteristics of the mmWave band made the beamforming problem a challenging one because it depends on many environmental and operational factors. These challenges made any model-based architecture fit only special applications, working scenarios, and specific environment geometry. All these reasons increased the need for more general machine learning based beamforming systems that can work in different environments and conditions. This increased the need for an extended adjustable dataset that can serve as a tool for any machine learning technique to build an efficient beamforming architecture. Deep MIMO dataset has been used in many architectures and designs and has proved its benefits and flexibility to fit in many cases. In this paper, we study the extension of collaborative beamforming that includes many cooperating base stations by studying the impact of User Equipment (UE) speed ranges on the beamforming performance, optimizing the parameters of the neural network architecture of the beamforming design, and suggesting the optimal design that gives the best performance for as a small dataset as possible. Suggested architecture can achieve the same performance achieved before with up to 33% reduction in the dataset size used to train the system which provides a huge reduction in the data collection and processing time.
A RELIABLE AND ENERGY EFFICIENCT ROUTING PROTOCOL FOR MANETs cscpconf
A mobile ad-hoc network (MANETs) is an infrastructure less network in which the mobile nodes
communicate with each other. Due to its various characteristics like highly dynamic topology
and limited battery power of the nodes, routing is one of the key issue. Also, it is not possible to
give a significant amount of power to the mobile nodes of ad-hoc networks. Because of all this
the energy consumption is also an important issue. Due to limited battery power, some other
issues like if some node gets fail, which results in loss of data packets and no reliable data
transfer has been raised. In this paper, an algorithm is proposed for data transmission which
detects the node failure (due to energy) before it actually happens. Because of this network
lifetime gets improved. The proposed routing algorithm is energy efficient as compared to
AODV routing algorithm. The performance is analyzed on the basis of various performance
metrics like Energy Consumption, Packet Delivery Ratio, Network Life Time, Network Routing
Overhead and number of Exhausted nodes in the network by using the NS2 Simulator.
Integrated approach for efficient power consumption and resource allocation i...IJECEIAES
The growing interest towards wireless communication advancement with smart devices has provided the desired throughput of wireless communication mechanisms. But, attaining high-speed data packets amenities is the biggest issue in different multimedia applications. Recently, OFDM has come up with the useful features for wireless communication however it faces interference issues at carrier level (intercarrier interferences). To resolve these interference issues in OFDM, various existing mechanisms were utilized cyclic prefix, but it leads to redundancy in transmitted data. Also, the transmission of this redundant data can take some more power and bandwidth. All these limitations factors can be removed from a parallel cancellation mechanism. The integration of parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding and decoding in MIMOOFDMA will be an effective solution to have high data rate which also associations with the benefits of both the architectures of MIMO and OFDMA modulation approaches. This paper deals with this integrated mechanism for efficient resource allocation and power consumption. For performance analysis, MIMO-OFDMA system is analyzed with three different approaches likeMIMO-OFDM system without parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-WPC), MIMO-OFDMA System with parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-PC) and proposed IMO-OFDMA system with parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding/decoding (pMIMO-OFDMAPC &CVed) for 4x4 transmitter and receiver. Through performance analysis, it is found that the proposed system achieved better resource allocation (bandwidth) with high data rate by minimized BER rate and achieved least power consumption with least BER.
Extended Bandwidth Optimized and Energy Efficient Dynamic Source Routing Prot...IJECEIAES
With the increase in the evolution of wireless communication, the ad-hoc networks are gaining attention and are significantly becoming the technology solutions to the various problems. Mobile ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are envisaged to grow as a main component in the today 4G architecture, and ad hoc networks are projected to be a significant element of the whole future wireless communication. The MANETs are infrastructure less, self-forming and self-organizing network in which there is no control of any centralized entity. The nodes are free to move around the network with dynamic topology. But this self formation, flexibility and scalability create many challenges and design constraints like hidden terminal, limited bandwidth, limited energy of a node, unpredictable change in the topology etc. Bandwidth and energy are the scarce resources of the network. In order to effectively manage the consumption of bandwidth and energy, an algorithm is proposed which is the extension of traditional Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) reactive routing protocol. The extended protocol applies the mobile agents to carry the data. The proposed work is intended to optimize the bandwidth and making the protocol energy efficient.

Novel framework of retaining maximum data quality and energy efficiency in re...IJECEIAES
There are various unseen and unpredictable networking states in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) that adversely affect the aggregated data quality. After reviewing the existing approaches of data quality in WSN, it was found that the solutions are quite symptomatic and they are applicable only in a static environment; however their successful applicability on dynamic and upcoming reconfigurable network is still a big question. Moreover, data quality directly affects energy conservation among the nodes. Therefore, the proposed system introduces a simple and novel framework that jointly addresses the data quality and energy efficiency using probability-based design approach. Energy Behavior in Ad Hoc Network Minimizing the Number of Hops and Maintaini...CSCJournals
Wireless ad-hoc mesh network is a special kind of network, where all of the nodes move in time. The topology of the network changes as the nodes are in the proximity of each other. Ad-hoc networks are generally self-configuring no stable infrastructure takes a place. In this network, each node should help relaying packets of neighboring nodes using multi-hop routing mechanism. This mechanism is needed to reach far destination nodes to solve problem of dead communication. This multiple traffic "hops" within a wireless mesh network caused dilemma. Wireless mesh network that contain multiple hops become increasingly vulnerable to problems such as energy degradation and rapid increasing of overhead packets. This paper provides a generic routing framework that balances energy efficient broadcast schemes in Wireless (Ad-Hoc) Mesh Network and maintaining connectivity of nodes (mobile terminals). Typically, each node’s activities will consume energy, either for sending packets, receiving or preparing/processing packets. Number of hops, distance of nodes, and size of packet will determine the consumption of energy. The framework is based on the principle that additional relay nodes with appropriate energy and routing metric between source and final destination significantly reduces the energy consumption necessary to deliver packets in Wireless (Ad-Hoc) Mesh Network while keep the connectivity of dynamic nodes. Using the framework, the average network connectivity is kept 18% higher and the lifetime of network lasting more than 2.38% compared with network with Link State Routing mechanism. The simulation notes that the end-to-end delay may increase rapidly if relay nodes are more than five.
Novel evaluation framework for sensing spread spectrum in cognitive radioIJECEIAES
The cognitive radio network is designed to cater to the optimization demands of restricted spectrum availability. A review of existing literature on spectrum sensing shows that there is still a broader scope for its improvement. Therefore, this paper introduces an efficient computational framework capable of evaluating the effectiveness of the spread spectrum concept in the context of cognitive radio network in a more scalable and granular way. The proposed method introduces a dual hypothesis using a different set of dependable parameters to emphasize the detection of optimal energy for a low signal quality state over the noise. The proposed evaluation framework is benchmarked using a statistical analysis method not present in any existing approaches toward spread spectrum sensing. The simulated outcome of the study exhibits that the proposed system offers a significantly better probability of detection than the current system using a simplified evaluation scheme with multiple test parameters.

Using a simplified analytical methodology, the proposed system offers solution in the form of selection transmission of an aggergated data on the basis of message priority in order to offer higher data utilization factor. The study outcome shows proposed system offers a good balance between data quality and energy efficiency in contrast to existing system.
Recent many works have concentrated on
dynamically turning on/off some base stations (BSs) in order to
improve energy efficiency in radio access networks (RANs). In
this survey, we broaden the research over BS switching
operations, which should competition up with traffic load
variations. The proposed method formulate the traffic variations
as a Markov decision process which should differ from dynamic
traffic loads which are still quite challenging to precisely forecast.
A reinforcement learning framework based BS switching
operation scheme was designed in order to minimize the energy
consumption of RANs. Furthermore a transfer actor-critic

process, which utilizes the transferred learning expertise in
historical periods or neighboring regions. The proposed TACT

significant energy efficiency increment.
Energy-efficient data-aggregation for optimizing quality of service using mo...IJECEIAES
Quality of service (QoS) is essential for carrying out data transmission using resource-constrained sensor nodes in wireless sensor network (WSN). The introduction of mobile agent-based data aggregation is reported to offer energy efficiency; however, it has limitations, especially using a single mobile agent, where QoS optimization is not feasible. A review of existing studies showcases some dedicated attempts to use a mobile agent-based approach and address QoS enhancements. However, they were never combined studied. Therefore, this paper introduces a unique concept of retaining maximum QoS performance during data aggregation using a single mobile agent. The model introduces a unique communication framework, transmission provisioning using exceptional routine management, and simplified energy modeling. The proposed model has aimed for a lower delay and faster data aggregation speed with lower consumption of transmittance energy. The implementation and assessment of the model are carried out considering the challenging environment of WSN with multiple scales of data priority. The proposed model also contributes to evolving out with simplified communication vectors in a highly decentralized method. MATLAB's simulation outcome shows that the proposed system offers better delay performance, optimal energy management, and faster response time than existing schemes.
The paper presents a technique called as Mobility-enabled Multi Level Optimization (MeMLO) that addressing the existing problem of clustering in wireless sensor net-work (WSN). The technique enables selection of aggregator node based on multiple optimi-zation attribute which gives better decision capability to the clustering mechanism by choosing the best aggregator node. The outcome of the study shows MeMLO is highly capable of minimizing the halt time of mobile node that significantly lowers the transmit power of aggregator node. The simulation outcome shows negligible computational com-plexity, faster response time, and highly energy efficient for large scale WSN for longer simulation rounds as compared to conventional LEACH algorithm.

IoT Resource Allocation and Optimization Using Improved Reptile Search AlgorithmIJCNCJournal
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a dispersed network system that connects the world through the Internet. The architecture of IoT consists of more gateways and resources which cannot be allocated in a manual process. The allocation of resources in IoT is a challenging process due to the higher consumption of energy and high latency rate. To overcome the challenges in existing works, this research introduced an Improved Reptile Search Algorithm (IRSA) to solve the optimization problem which occurs during the time of allocation resources among IoT networks. IRSA employs the methodology of levy flight and cross-over to update the candidate position and enhance the search speed in a single iteration. The proposed method consumes less energy and has low latency during data transmission from User equipment (UE) to the base station.IRSA has been compared with the existing Scalable Resource Allocation Framework (SRAF) and Improved Chaotic Firefly Algorithm (ICFA). The obtained experimental results show that the proposed IRSA attained better performance with an allocation rate of 96.40% which is comparatively higher than SRAF and ICFA with 92.40% and 91.67% respectively.

Routing Optimization with Load Balancing: an Energy Efficient ApproachEswar Publications
The area of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is covered with considerable range of problems, where majority of research attempts were carried out to enhance the network lifetime of WSN. But very few of the studies have proved successful. Mobile Agents based Energy Efficient Routing for Wireless Sensor NetworksEswar Publications
Energy Efficiency and prolonged network lifetime are few of the major concern areas. Energy consumption rated of sensor nodes can be reduced in various ways. Data aggregation, result sharing and filtration of aggregated data among sensor nodes deployed in the unattended regions have been few of the most researched areas in the field of wireless sensor networks. While data aggregation is concerned with minimizing the information transfer from source to sink to reduce network traffic and removing congestion in network, result sharing focuses on sharing of information among agents pertinent to the tasks at hand and filtration of aggregated data so as to remove redundant information. There exist various algorithms for data aggregation and filtration using different mobile agents. In this proposed work same mobile agent is used to perform both tasks data aggregation and data filtration. This approach advocates the sharing of resources and reducing the energy consumption level of sensor nodes.

An efficient energy management scheme is crucial factor for design and implementation of any sensor network. Almost all sensor networks are structured with numerous small sized, low cost sensor devices which are scattered over the large area. Approach to minimizing consumption of energy in wireless sensor networks IJECEIAES
The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) technology has benefited from a central position in the research space of future emerging networks by its diversity of applications fields and also by its optimization techniques of its various constraints, more essentially, the minimization of nodal energy consumption to increase the global network lifetime. To answer this saving energy problem, several solutions have been proposed at the protocol stack level of the WSN. In this paper, after presenting a state of the art of this technology and its conservation energy techniques at the protocol stack level, we were interested in the network layer to propose a routing solution based on a localization aspect that allows the creation of a virtual grid on the coverage area and introduces it to the two most well-known energy efficiency hierarchical routing protocols, LEACH and PEGASIS. This allowed us to minimize the energy consumption and to select the clusters heads in a deterministic way unlike LEACH which is done in a probabilistic way and also to minimize the latency in PEGASIS, by decomposing its chain into several independent chains. The simulation results, under "MATLABR2015b", have shown the efficiency of our approach in terms of overall residual energy and network lifetime.

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been recognized as a potential solution for enhancing the throughput of next-generation wireless communications. NOMA is a potential option for 5G networks due to its superiority in providing better spectrum efficiency (SE) compared to orthogonal multiple access (OMA). From the perspective of green communication, energy efficiency (EE) has become a new performance indicator. A systematic literature review is conducted to investigate the available energy efficient approach researchers have employed in NOMA. Voltage and frequency control of microgrid in presence of micro-turbine inter...IJECEIAES
The active and reactive load changes have a significant impact on voltage
and frequency. In this paper, in order to stabilize the microgrid (MG) against
load variations in islanding mode, the active and reactive power of all
distributed generators (DGs), including energy storage (battery), diesel
generator, and micro-turbine, are controlled. The micro-turbine generator is
connected to MG through a three-phase to three-phase matrix converter, and
the droop control method is applied for controlling the voltage and
frequency of MG. In addition, a method is introduced for voltage and
frequency control of micro-turbines in the transition state from gridconnected mode to islanding mode. A novel switching strategy of the matrix
converter is used for converting the high-frequency output voltage of the
micro-turbine to the grid-side frequency of the utility system. Moreover,
using the switching strategy, the low-order harmonics in the output current
and voltage are not produced, and consequently, the size of the output filter
would be reduced. In fact, the suggested control strategy is load-independent
and has no frequency conversion restrictions. The proposed approach for
voltage and frequency regulation demonstrates exceptional performance and
favorable response across various load alteration scenarios. The suggested
strategy is examined in several scenarios in the MG test systems, and the
simulation results are addressed.

Use of analytical hierarchy process for selecting and prioritizing islanding ...IJECEIAES
One of the problems that are associated to power systems is islanding
condition, which must be rapidly and properly detected to prevent any
negative consequences on the system's protection, stability, and security.
This paper offers a thorough overview of several islanding detection
strategies, which are divided into two categories: classic approaches,
including local and remote approaches, and modern techniques, including
techniques based on signal processing and computational intelligence.
Additionally, each approach is compared and assessed based on several
factors, including implementation costs, non-detected zones, declining
power quality, and response times using the analytical hierarchy process
(AHP). The multi-criteria decision-making analysis shows that the overall
weight of passive methods (24.7%), active methods (7.8%), hybrid methods
(5.6%), remote methods (14.5%), signal processing-based methods (26.6%),
and computational intelligent-based methods (20.8%) based on the
comparison of all criteria together. Thus, it can be seen from the total weight
that hybrid approaches are the least suitable to be chosen, while signal
processing-based methods are the most appropriate islanding detection
method to be selected and implemented in power system with respect to the
aforementioned factors. Using Expert Choice software, the proposed
hierarchy model is studied and examined.

irradiances of 500 and 1,000 W/m2
, the results show that the proposed
method reduces the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the injected current
to the grid by approximately 46% and 38% compared to conventional
methods, respectively. Furthermore, we compare the simulation results with
IEEE standards to evaluate the system's grid compatibility.
Enhancing photovoltaic system maximum power point tracking with fuzzy logic-b...IJECEIAES
Photovoltaic systems have emerged as a promising energy resource that
caters to the future needs of society, owing to their renewable, inexhaustible,
and cost-free nature. The power output of these systems relies on solar cell
radiation and temperature. In order to mitigate the dependence on
atmospheric conditions and enhance power tracking, a conventional
approach has been improved by integrating various methods. To optimize
the generation of electricity from solar systems, the maximum power point
tracking (MPPT) technique is employed. To overcome limitations such as
steady-state voltage oscillations and improve transient response, two
traditional MPPT methods, namely fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and perturb
and observe (P&O), have been modified. This research paper aims to
simulate and validate the step size of the proposed modified P&O and FLC
techniques within the MPPT algorithm using MATLAB/Simulink for
efficient power tracking in photovoltaic systems.
Adaptive synchronous sliding control for a robot manipulator based on neural ...IJECEIAES
Robot manipulators have become important equipment in production lines, medical fields, and transportation. Improving the quality of trajectory tracking for
robot hands is always an attractive topic in the research community. This is a
challenging problem because robot manipulators are complex nonlinear systems
and are often subject to fluctuations in loads and external disturbances. This
article proposes an adaptive synchronous sliding control scheme to improve trajectory tracking performance for a robot manipulator. The proposed controller
ensures that the positions of the joints track the desired trajectory, synchronize
the errors, and significantly reduces chattering. First, the synchronous tracking
errors and synchronous sliding surfaces are presented. Second, the synchronous
tracking error dynamics are determined. Third, a robust adaptive control law is
designed, the unknown components of the model are estimated online by the neural network, and the parameters of the switching elements are selected by fuzzy
logic. The built algorithm ensures that the tracking and approximation errors
are ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB). Finally, the effectiveness of the constructed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller is effective with small synchronous tracking errors, and the chattering phenomenon is
significantly reduced.
Remote field-programmable gate array laboratory for signal acquisition and de...IJECEIAES
A remote laboratory utilizing field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technologies enhances students’ learning experience anywhere and anytime in embedded system design. Existing remote laboratories prioritize hardware access and visual feedback for observing board behavior after programming, neglecting comprehensive debugging tools to resolve errors that require internal signal acquisition. This paper proposes a novel remote embeddedsystem design approach targeting FPGA technologies that are fully interactive via a web-based platform. Our solution provides FPGA board access and debugging capabilities beyond the visual feedback provided by existing remote laboratories. We implemented a lab module that allows users to seamlessly incorporate into their FPGA design. The module minimizes hardware resource utilization while enabling the acquisition of a large number of data samples from the signal during the experiments by adaptively compressing the signal prior to data transmission. The results demonstrate an average compression ratio of 2.90 across three benchmark signals, indicating efficient signal acquisition and effective debugging and analysis. This method allows users to acquire more data samples than conventional methods. The proposed lab allows students to remotely test and debug their designs, bridging the gap between theory and practice in embedded system design.

Key contributions of this research include a unique dataset for code smell classification and the development of models using AutoGluon for optimal performance. Furthermore, the study identifies the top 20 influential features in classifying feature envy, a well-known code smell, stemming from excessive reliance on external classes. We also explored how move method refactoring addresses feature envy, revealing reduced coupling and complexity, and improved cohesion, ultimately enhancing code quality. In summary, this research offers an empirical, data-driven approach, integrating AutoML and move method refactoring to optimize software project quality. Insights gained shed light on the benefits of refactoring on code quality and the significance of specific features in detecting feature envy. Future research can expand to explore additional refactoring techniques and a broader range of code metrics, advancing software engineering practices and standards.
Smart monitoring technique for solar cell systems using internet of things ba...IJECEIAES
Rapidly and remotely monitoring and receiving the solar cell systems status parameters, solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity, are critical issues in enhancement their efficiency. Hence, in the present article an improved smart prototype of internet of things (IoT) technique based on embedded system through NodeMCU ESP8266 (ESP-12E) was carried out experimentally. Three different regions at Egypt; Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira cities were chosen to study their solar irradiance profile, temperature, and humidity by the proposed IoT system. The monitoring data of solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity were live visualized directly by Ubidots through hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) protocol. The measured solar power radiation in Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira ranged between 216-1000, 245-958, and 187-692 W/m 2 respectively during the solar day. The accuracy and rapidity of obtaining monitoring results using the proposed IoT system made it a strong candidate for application in monitoring solar cell systems. On the other hand, the obtained solar power radiation results of the three considered regions strongly candidate Luxor and Cairo as suitable places to build up a solar cells system station rather than El-Beheira.
An efficient security framework for intrusion detection and prevention in int...IJECEIAES
Over the past few years, the internet of things (IoT) has advanced to connect billions of smart devices to improve quality of life. However, anomalies or malicious intrusions pose several security loopholes, leading to performance degradation and threat to data security in IoT operations. Thereby, IoT security systems must keep an eye on and restrict unwanted events from occurring in the IoT network. Recently, various technical solutions based on machine learning (ML) models have been derived towards identifying and restricting unwanted events in IoT. However, most ML-based approaches are prone to miss-classification due to inappropriate feature selection. Additionally, most ML approaches applied to intrusion detection and prevention consider supervised learning, which requires a large amount of labeled data to be trained. Consequently, such complex datasets are impossible to source in a large network like IoT. To address this problem, this proposed study introduces an efficient learning mechanism to strengthen the IoT security aspects. The proposed algorithm incorporates supervised and unsupervised approaches to improve the learning models for intrusion detection and mitigation. Compared with the related works, the experimental outcome shows that the model performs well in a benchmark dataset. It accomplishes an improved detection accuracy of approximately 99.21%.

This research is developing an incubator system that integrates the internet of things and artificial intelligence to improve care for premature babies. The system workflow starts with sensors that collect data from the incubator. Then, the data is sent in real-time to the internet of things (IoT) broker eclipse mosquito using the message queue telemetry transport (MQTT) protocol version 5.0. After that, the data is stored in a database for analysis using the long short-term memory network (LSTM) method and displayed in a web application using an application programming interface (API) service. Furthermore, the experimental results produce as many as 2,880 rows of data stored in the database. The correlation coefficient between the target attribute and other attributes ranges from 0.23 to 0.48. Next, several experiments were conducted to evaluate the model-predicted value on the test data. The best results are obtained using a two-layer LSTM configuration model, each with 60 neurons and a lookback setting 6. This model produces an R 2 value of 0.934, with a root mean square error (RMSE) value of 0.015 and a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.008. In addition, the R 2 value was also evaluated for each attribute used as input, with a result of values between 0.590 and 0.845.

A trust based secure access control using authentication mechanism for intero...IJECEIAES
The internet of things (IoT) is a revolutionary innovation in many aspects of our society including interactions, financial activity, and global security such as the military and battlefield internet. Due to the limited energy and processing capacity of network devices, security, energy consumption, compatibility, and device heterogeneity are the long-term IoT problems. As a result, energy and security are critical for data transmission across edge and IoT networks. Existing IoT interoperability techniques need more computation time, have unreliable authentication mechanisms that break easily, lose data easily, and have low confidentiality. In this paper, a key agreement protocol-based authentication mechanism for IoT devices is offered as a solution to this issue. This system makes use of information exchange, which must be secured to prevent access by unauthorized users. Using a compact contiki/cooja simulator, the performance and design of the suggested framework are validated. The simulation findings are evaluated based on detection of malicious nodes after 60 minutes of simulation. The suggested trust method, which is based on privacy access control, reduced packet loss ratio to 0.32%, consumed 0.39% power, and had the greatest average residual energy of 0.99 mJoules at 10 nodes.
Fuzzy linear programming with the intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbersIJECEIAES
In real world applications, data are subject to ambiguity due to several factors; fuzzy sets and fuzzy numbers propose a great tool to model such ambiguity. In case of hesitation, the complement of a membership value in fuzzy numbers can be different from the non-membership value, in which case we can model using intuitionistic fuzzy numbers as they provide flexibility by defining both a membership and a non-membership functions. In this article, we consider the intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem with intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbers, which is a generalization of the previous polygonal fuzzy numbers found in the literature. We present a modification of the simplex method that can be used to solve any general intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem after approximating the problem by an intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy number with n edges. This method is given in a simple tableau formulation, and then applied on numerical examples for clarity.
The performance of artificial intelligence in prostate magnetic resonance im...IJECEIAES
Prostate cancer is the predominant form of cancer observed in men worldwide. The application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a guidance tool for conducting biopsies has been established as a reliable and well-established approach in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. The diagnostic performance of MRI-guided prostate cancer diagnosis exhibits significant heterogeneity due to the intricate and multi-step nature of the diagnostic pathway. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) models, specifically through the utilization of machine learning techniques such as deep learning, is assuming an increasingly significant role in the field of radiology. In the realm of prostate MRI, a considerable body of literature has been dedicated to the development of various AI algorithms. These algorithms have been specifically designed for tasks such as prostate segmentation, lesion identification, and classification. The overarching objective of these endeavors is to enhance diagnostic performance and foster greater agreement among different observers within MRI scans for the prostate. This review article aims to provide a concise overview of the application of AI in the field of radiology, with a specific focus on its utilization in prostate MRI.
Seizure stage detection of epileptic seizure using convolutional neural networksIJECEIAES
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), seventy million individuals worldwide suffer from epilepsy, a neurological disorder. While electroencephalography (EEG) is crucial for diagnosing epilepsy and monitoring the brain activity of epilepsy patients, it requires a specialist to examine all EEG recordings to find epileptic behavior. This procedure needs an experienced doctor, and a precise epilepsy diagnosis is crucial for appropriate treatment. To identify epileptic seizures, this study employed a convolutional neural network (CNN) based on raw scalp EEG signals to discriminate between preictal, ictal, postictal, and interictal segments. The possibility of these characteristics is explored by examining how well timedomain signals work in the detection of epileptic signals using intracranial Freiburg Hospital (FH), scalp Children's Hospital Boston-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CHB-MIT) databases, and Temple University Hospital (TUH) EEG. To test the viability of this approach, two types of experiments were carried out. Firstly, binary class classification (preictal, ictal, postictal each versus interictal) and four-class classification (interictal versus preictal versus ictal versus postictal). The average accuracy for stage detection using CHB-MIT database was 84.4%, while the Freiburg database's time-domain signals had an accuracy of 79.7% and the highest accuracy of 94.02% for classification in the TUH EEG database when comparing interictal stage to preictal stage.
Analysis of driving style using self-organizing maps to analyze driver behaviorIJECEIAES
Modern life is strongly associated with the use of cars, but the increase in acceleration speeds and their maneuverability leads to a dangerous driving style for some drivers. In these conditions, the development of a method that allows you to track the behavior of the driver is relevant. The article provides an overview of existing methods and models for assessing the functioning of motor vehicles and driver behavior. Based on this, a combined algorithm for recognizing driving style is proposed. To do this, a set of input data was formed, including 20 descriptive features: About the environment, the driver's behavior and the characteristics of the functioning of the car, collected using OBD II. The generated data set is sent to the Kohonen network, where clustering is performed according to driving style and degree of danger. Getting the driving characteristics into a particular cluster allows you to switch to the private indicators of an individual driver and considering individual driving characteristics. The application of the method allows you to identify potentially dangerous driving styles that can prevent accidents.
Hyperspectral object classification using hybrid spectral-spatial fusion and ...IJECEIAES
Because of its spectral-spatial and temporal resolution of greater areas, hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has found widespread application in the field of object classification. The HSI is typically used to accurately determine an object's physical characteristics as well as to locate related objects with appropriate spectral fingerprints. As a result, the HSI has been extensively applied to object identification in several fields, including surveillance, agricultural monitoring, environmental research, and precision agriculture. However, because of their enormous size, objects require a lot of time to classify; for this reason, both spectral and spatial feature fusion have been completed. The existing classification strategy leads to increased misclassification, and the feature fusion method is unable to preserve semantic object inherent features; This study addresses the research difficulties by introducing a hybrid spectral-spatial fusion (HSSF) technique to minimize feature size while maintaining object intrinsic qualities; Lastly, a soft-margins kernel is proposed for multi-layer deep support vector machine (MLDSVM) to reduce misclassification. The standard Indian pines dataset is used for the experiment, and the outcome demonstrates that the HSSF-MLDSVM model performs substantially better in terms of accuracy and Kappa coefficient.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

[9] present some of the significant research work towards minimization of the power in the mobile device
considering various types of networks e.g. sensor network, ad hoc network, etc. A wireless channel is also
shrouded by various other types of problems e.g. scattering, interference, noise, fading etc. that adversely
affect the signal quality at the receiver’s end. Very less research has been found to be focused on
minimization of power considering the network parameters. Another significant open research issue is the
allocation of power while working on multicarrier-based communication system e.g. 3G or 4G, where an
optimal power is computed to be allocated on each subcarrier. This is a very important operation in all forms
of futuristic telecommunication standards on which the modulation technique has to be focused. Usually, the
modulation technique is very specific for type of the carrier used that finally results in more transmit power
allocation from the mobile device. Hence, it can be finally stated that existing mobile networks offer data rate
at the cost of mobile device’s battery life. Control over transmit power of a wireless node is highly important
design principle that can ensure uniform rate of energy dissipation. At the same time, energy will be required
to be maintain a balance with traffic flow. The proposed system presents a novel framework that mainly
targets to minimize such forms of transmit power of the mobile device when operating on multicarrier
transmission in wireless communication systems. Section 1.1 discusses about the existing research work that
has addressed the problem of power in the mobile device in the past by various researchers followed by a
briefing of the problem identification in Section 1.2. Discussion of the contribution along with highlights of
schematic architecture of the proposed system is made in Section 2 followed by research methodology in
Section 3. The algorithm implementation is discussed in Section 4 and Section 5 discusses results being
obtained. Section 6 concludes the paper by summarizing its outcome.
1.1 Background
This section discusses about the existing techniques of energy conservation in mobile devices. Our
prior review work [10] discusses some of the standard models of energy management system. This section
will further update our prior studies. Abolfazli et al. [11] discuss about various challenges in using cloud
services over mobile devices. Although, the paper discussed about various augmentation techniques but it
gave a fair insight about the restricted resources and capabilities of mobile devices. The most recent study of
Ravichandran and Muralidharan [12] present a unique technique to control power efficiency by using
dynamic frequency scaling approach. The technique was implemented on an Android device using ARM
architecture. The study shows approximately 30% reduction in power consumption. Pyles et al. [13] present a
technique that is based on minimized delay and minimal power over the MAC layer. The contribution of the
study is that the presented mechanism performs autonomous switching between two different standards of
wireless networks, namely, Bluetooth and WLAN in order to conserve energy for the mobile devices. The
study found approximately 25% of the energy saving. The study carried out by Bala and Garg [14] shows a
technique for conserving the battery life for smart phones. The authors present a framework of learning that
was used for monitoring the significant and unique behavior with respect to the energy drainage, frequencies
of mobile applications being used, and different types of context using artificial neural network. However,
the outcome is used for just checking the amount of energy being drained and not the solution for this. Tang
et al. [15] propose a study where the problem of reduction in the tail energy is used by deploying machine
learning techniques. The work has used an architecture using client and server module that applies training
operation only on the server. The proposed system is designed over the actual prototype where the
enhancement of the energy performance was obtained along with minimal overhead. In order to carry out this
task, the authors have implemented both online and offline scheduling algorithms where the learning
operation is carried out using an artificial neural network.
The study by Tilevich and Kwon [16] uses cloud offloading mechanism as well as various
transformation techniques in cloud to obtain energy optimization. The offloading operation in cloud was
carried out by disconnecting the cloud resources. Various forms of techniques used for cloud offloading
operations are i) adaption of run time, ii) abstraction of programming, and iii) profiling and monitoring of
runtime. Han et al. [17] propose a protocol called eDiscovery that is responsible for controlling the energy
dissipation in opportunistic mobile networks. The protocol performs the alteration of the duration of the IEEE
802.11 standard for searching for the dynamic environment of the wireless networks. This approach was
found to accomplish approximately 40% of the energy saving. The model implemented by the Kousai et al.
[18] presents a technique of polar detection over the circuits of impedance detection. A loop of linearization
is designed over the circuit for the purpose of reducing the communication overhead. A prototype is designed
for carrying out the impedance detection using FPGA. Moety et al. [19] present a technique that addresses
the problems of both power and delay in LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks. The system computes the
transmit power by minimizing the cumulative power and communication delay. Study of power allocation
towards advanced telecommunication standards like LTE was carried out by Nagaraj and Sarkar [20]. The
technique performs reduction of power dissipation against the use of 4G network service 24/7. The proposed

system claims accomplishing 20% of reduction in the power as compared to the existing techniques. The
study has also taken the case study of OFDMA-based mobile networks especially focusing on base station
power reduction. Wu et al. [21] present a simple analytical framework that performs sharing of nodes to
obtain energy efficiency. The authors have addressed the problem pertaining to resource sharing using a
technique based on merging and splitting protocol.
Miao [22] presents a study that emphasizes on minimizing the energy conservation of multiple input
and multiple output over uplink communication. A novel circuit management is designed and analysis is
carried out in a hypothetical manner. Resource sharing is also one of the definitive alternatives of minimizing
the power conservation over the mobile devices. The study by Mtibaa et al. [23] introduces an environment
with collaborative nodes. The technique performs implementation of offloading schemes of cloud to enhance
the battery longevity using an experimental approach. Qui et al. [24] carried out research using dynamic
scheduling to maintain power efficiency in smartphones. The technique initially investigates the online jobs
and its respective communication process using dynamic acyclic graphs. Yoo et al. [25] present a protocol for
carrying out clustering operation between two different types of wireless networking standards. The
technique also presents an explicit algorithm to perform election of cluster head, cater to the bandwidth
requirements, etc. The study by Qian and Andresen [26] presents a technique that performs scheduling of
various forms of tasks over the mobile devices especially with 4G networks. The study implements a
framework using Jade that performs autonomous monitoring of various tasks along with application status by
fine-tuning the dynamic strategies of the offloading of task. The mechanism was found to conserve
approximately 35% of energy consumption.
Thus, it can be seen that there are various techniques found in the current literature focusing on
minimizing the energy seepage from the mobile device. However, there is less standard and benchmarked
research work which could be further used for future study. The next section discusses about the pitfalls in
the reported literature and identifies the research gap and the potential problems for further research.
1.2. The Problem
On the basis of the review of the existing literature in the previous section, various shortcomings of
the reported research contributions have been summarized. Some of the significant problems explored are as
follows:
Majority of the existing techniques are found to implement scheduling as one of the solution to
counter the power problems on mobile devices. However, the scheduling was only studied with
respect to a specific form of network e.g. Bluetooth or WLAN or data connection (i.e. 3G or
4G). It is quite imperative that wireless standards do affect the battery life of a mobile device,
but this problem was not found to be addressed.
There are only few studies towards adoption of sophisticated optimization policies. Majority of
the techniques do not address the trade-off between power minimization and maximizing
throughput. Although, such problems are better mapped by non-linear optimization, very few
researchers have ever considered such problems.
Power seeps more when multimedia files are used on any mobile networks. Reported studies
towards energy modeling are not found to consider profiling energy parameters based on such
heavy multimedia contents over mobile devices.
Lack of benchmarked studies and lack of regulatory standards on power usage is another
significant research gap.
2. PROPOSED STUDY
This paper is a continuation of our prior mathematical modeling [27] which is focused on estimating
the actual power dissipation from the mobile devices over existing telecommunication standards. This part of
the study presents a framework that essentially performs minimization of the power dissipation in the mobile
device. Figure 1 show the schematic architecture of the proposed study which mainly consists of system
model and communication model. The system model consists of a number of radio antennas in mobile
devices, instantaneous power, tolerance factor, and channel parameters. The system considers a signal that
acts as an input to transmitter which is further subjected to modulation. Multicarrier transmission is
considered to accommodate all forms of modulation. The encoded and modulated signal is now subjected to
channel with noise and interference, which is finally subjected to an optimization algorithm. By mapping to
the problem of non-linear optimization, a novel objective function is developed to properly balance between
data rate and transmit power. The algorithm designed for this purpose also formulates constraints pertaining
to threshold power and data quality, which is mainly considered as SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and BER

(Bit-Error-Rate). The entire work is carried out during the modulation operation itself as this mechanism has
to be incorporated within the hardware of the mobile device. Hardware profiling potentially assists the
algorithm to make an efficient data aggregation for usage as well as network behavior too. Another
interesting part of the study is that the proposed system has faster response time and suits well for lower
bandwidth availability too. The next section elaborates about the adopted research methodology followed by
algorithm implementation.

3. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The design and development of the proposed system is carried out using analytical design
methodology. In general, there are 5 types of radio antenna used in smartphones: (i) Wi-Fi antenna, (ii) FM
Radio antenna, (iii) Main antenna, (iv) Diversity antenna, and (v) GPS antenna as shown in Figure 2. These
antennae are meant to serve different purposes. For example, Wi-Fi antenna connects the device with an
access point but GPS antenna connects the device with GPS. Hence, they can be grouped as cellular RF-
based antenna and Mobile connectivity RF-based antenna. The design of the proposed system is done with
one of the challenging assumption that all antennae are functioning at the same time. These assumptions will
lead to a scenario of maximized power drainage, which will be ideal to prove the robustness and
sustainability of proposed power control-based optimization technique to hold right. The proposed system
considers design of a channel matrix H, where y = H.s+ n (y being user stream data at receiver and s being
that of transmitter).
As known from the concepts of MIMO[28] at high SNR, the capacity of the i.i.d. (independent and
identically distributed) Rayleigh fast fading channel scales like nmin log SNR bits/s/Hz, where nmin is the
minimum of the number of transmit antennae nt and the number of receive antennae nr. This is a degree-of-
freedom gain. At low SNR, the capacity is approximately nr.SNR.log2e bits/s/Hz [28]. This is a receive
beam-forming power gain. At all SNR, the capacity scales linearly with nmin. This is due to the combination
of the power gain and the degree-of-freedom gain.
y = Hs + n (1)
Let the transmitted vector s be a random vector to be very general and n is normalized noise. Let the
total transmitted power available per symbol period be P. The instantaneous channel capacity can be given as
C = log 2 (IM + HQHH
) b/s/Hz (2)
We consider a frequency flat MIMO channel to calculate its capacity. Where IM is a unit matrix NR
X NR, H is the channel matrix NRXNT and Q= E{ssH
} the covariance matrix of transmitted signal s
satisfying the transmit power constraint Tr(ssH
)=NT. Consider specific case when we have users transmitting
at equal power over the channel and the users are uncorrelated (no feedback available). Then, the channel
capacity is
CEP = log 2 [IM + (P/MT) HHH] b/s/Hz (3)

A closer look into the above objective function will show that proposed FoPC (Framework for
Power Control) maintains a better fairness by balancing both data delivery as well as power required for
transmitting data (ρ). Considering the challenges of wireless networks, the study considers that above stated
objective function only for specific rate of error (ei < eTH). The proposed system thereby performs optimization
without using any forms of additional resources to control the power dissipation of the mobile devices. In the
mathematical model, a new variable weight is defined that is responsible for adjusting the transmission rate on
multiple radio antennas thereby controlling the power dissipation to a large extent. The computational
complexity of non-linearity is reduced using Lagrangian multiplier while a slack variable is used for
transforming non-linear to linear forms for minimizing the complexities.

4. ALGORITHM IMPLEMENTATION
The prime purpose of the proposed algorithm is to ensure that there is a good balance between the
power conservation, data quality, and communication performance. Mobile devices have multiple radio
antennas that work simultaneously. Each channel selected by the radio interface has a specific amount of
power allocation and hence more the communication or data transmission more is the power dissipation.
Thus, the primary aim of this algorithm is to address the tradeoff between data delivery maximization (using
multiple radios) and minimization of power that will be used for transmitting data from the mobile device.
The steps of the algorithm are as shown:

The proposed algorithm takes the input of η (number of radios), α (weight of channel), eTH
(threshold error), ρ (power), τ (tolerance), φ (data quality), d (data), Tx (transmitter antennae), λ (Lagrangian
multiplier), δ (slack variable), Hi (channel matrix), nv (noise variance), Cvr (channel-variance ratio), ε1/ ε2
(channel parameters), etc. and after processing
Results in opow (optimized power). The algorithm works by initially defining the variables (e.g. η, α,
ρ, τ, φ, d.) in Line-1, whose values depend on the type of application, type of network and services to be used
by the mobile devices. The algorithm basically runs over mobile devices and is mainly focused on
minimizing transmit power. As power required to transmit is slightly higher than power required to receive,
the present algorithm emphasizes that the algorithm execution to take place at the transmitting mobile device
i.e. Tx (Line-2). The transmitting node will also need to define certain critical variables e.g. λ (Lagrangian
multiplier), δ (slack variable), and eTH (cut-off error rate) (Line-3). The reason behind this is: addressing the
trade-off between throughput maximizing and minimization of transmit power is basically a non-linear
optimization problem considering various factors such as channel noise, signal power, data rate, capacity of
the channel and channel attenuation. Hence our computation becomes complex considering all the
parameters. Therefore, the algorithm uses Lagrangian multiplier to minimize the computational complexity
of the algorithm by exploring the local maxima as well as local minima with the data quality constraint. The
slack variable is used for transformation of non-linear to linear constraint. The prime motive behind Line-3 is
to make the algorithm feasible to implement in a cost-effective manner by considering ideal state of channel
Hi which is equivalent to number of radio antennae itself. The next step of algorithm implementation begins
with a loop that represents the constraints of data quality (Line-4 - Line-11). For this reason, the algorithm
computes the noise variance nv in Line-5 followed by computation of channel to noise variance Cvr in Line-6.
Then, the algorithm implements its mathematical model shown in Line-7, Line-8, and Line-9, which is based
on constraint of error rate, power, and data to be transmitted. Finally, it computes the optimized power in
Line-10 at which the data can be transmitted, hence ensures an effective power control in mobile device.

5. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
This section discusses about the results being obtained from the implementation of the proposed
system. The entire implementation of the proposed system is carried out on a 32-bit Windows machine with
Core i3 processor and 4GB RAM. The results presented here consider i) No. of radio antennae used = 8, ii)
Weight adopted = 0.5, iii) Error Threshold = 0.0001, iv) Data Quality = -30 dB to +30 dB, v) Tolerance = 1e-
09, vi) Power allocated to each radio antenna = 1 Joule, and vii) data allocated to each radio = 10 Megabytes.
The implementation is carried out in Matlab where a transmitter, receiver, and a wireless channel with
multiple radio antennae are designed. The implementation also uses a fading and noisy wireless channel for
propagation in order to check the effectiveness of the system. A series of standard signals (in the form of an

image) is transmitted from transmitter to check the performance. Figure 3 shows an image taken as input
signal for experiment that is transmitted by the wireless channel corrupted by additive noise.
Figure.3. Input image, Energy Optimization and Received Image
For both consistent and irregular traffic, we investigated multiple situations for evaluating its
dependencies on the channel model. The system also utilized a static arrangement with all receiving dynamic
antennae as the standard technique to evaluate the antennae management systems of the mobile device. The
power per bit of transmitting node is measured which executes antennae system management and transmits
1000 data segments to receiving node. For both estimations, we used four diverse data rates of 0 (~0.119), 100,
200, and 300 Mbps.
5.1 Analysis for Continuous Traffic
This assessment was conducted in order to understand the pattern of power dissipation when
subjected to streaming of contents. Figure 4(a) and Figure 4(b) highlight the performance with respect to
transmitter and receiver, respectively. For continuous traffic, the transmitter (Figure 4(a)) shows that energy
consumption has been reduced to higher extent with increased rate (r=0-300 Mbps). The receiver too shows
similar performance (Figure 4(b). Initially, the energy per bit accomplished by receiving antennae for the
mobile device is smaller than that of the static design. Secondly, with the increase in rate of data, there is a
drop of energy per bit by the receiving nodes. Third, under a moderately low rate of data (e.g. under 200
Mbps) antennae system management turns out to be more successful. This is due to the fact that channels with
high data rate require more receiving antenna on device which in turn leads to less change in the capacity yet
causes extra power utilization. Another significant reason for such uniformity in transmitter and receiver
performance is that continuous traffic is quite predictable and hence the algorithm can easily apply equivalent
channel capacity with deterministic priority of the sub-channels (in case of increasing rate of flow) to cater to
the increasing traffic demands. Hence, with increasing number of antennae, the proposed system can
successfully reduce the energy per bit. The robustness of energy efficiency is proven as with increasing of
minimum rate value, the capability of rate reduction still increases. Therefore, there is no negative impact on
the data quality in streaming communication channel.

5.2 Analysis for an Intermittent Traffic
Basically, intermittent traffic is a result of connectivity outage because of large number of online
users whose services are quite difficult to be scheduled dynamically. Such cases usually result in drop of data
packet at the end. However, the matter of concern is that a massive and highly dynamic task requests from the
user are sometimes difficult to handle and in order to retain optimum connectivity the RRC (Radio Resource
Control) allocates more power on channel resulting in more power dissipation. Hence, an intermittent traffic is
selected for the assessment. A similar assessment scenario of transmitter node and both transmitter-receiver
node is considered intermittent traffic will mean uncertainty due to non-uniform traffic flow towards the
nodes. This will cause uneven distribution of energy dissipation of the node. This problem can be only solved
by objective function where it will need to keep lower amount of transmittance energy with higher traffic flow
from each node. Hence, transmitter and receiver performance are not same in this case. The transmitter node
will need to allocate precise resource (energy, channel capacity), where Figure5 (a) shows that transmitter
doesn’t seem to normalize the energy reduction to a significant extent. Although, it is successful to minimize
the power progressively for higher rate. This phenomenon also uses certain extent of transmittance energy (on
the transmitter side) will have positive effect on receiver (Figure 5(b)). The results depicted in Figure 5 show
that proposed system provides higher sustainability of battery longevity even on intermittent traffic. At the
same time, it does not have any negative impact on the data rate from 0-300 Mbps exhibiting a robust antenna
management and energy conservation.

whereas in intermittent traffic situation, it offers better energy conservation to the receiver node .The

outcome of the proposed system was also compared with the work carried out by Zhang et al. [29]. A
framework by the name E-MiLi by Zhang et al focuses on curtailing the idle listening power of the node in
wireless networks using sleep-scheduling based optimization. E-MiLi also uses a clocking mechanism that
significantly assists in MAC-layer scheduling. The framework showed approximately 40-90% of reduction in
energy consumption for real-time users. In order to perform comparative analysis, minor amendments were
carried out in switching the variables used in E-MiLi to fit into proposed system (FoPC). The comparative
results of our framework with that of E-MiLi is shown in Figure 6, where it can be seen that proposed system
offers better resiliency against power drainage in comparison to that of existing system with increasing data
quality (in dB). E-MiLi does not perform any form of optimization in case of multiple traffic situations but
the proposed system is able to identify the type of traffic and perform resource allocation based on this. It can
also maintain a ceiling for energy consumption and leverage traffic flow, which cannot be seen in E-MiLi. A
closer look shows that E-MiLi exhibits data quality right from 10 dB whereas the proposed FoPC offers
much better data quality from 25 dB. Moreover, transmit power increases gradually and retains nearly
constant for E-MiLi but at the cost of poor data quality. Thus, E-MiLi is not able to address the tradeoff
between data quality and power conservation for mobile devices.
Figure.6. Comparative Performance Analysis of Transmit Power
The prime reason behind the better performance of proposed FoPC is that its algorithm introduces
better optimization in its objective function that significantly balances maximization of throughput and
minimization of power conservation. Therefore, the proposed system of FoPC can successfully address the
power dissipation problems of the mobile devices operating under a challenging wireless network condition.
6. CONCLUSION
The hardware circuitry of a mobile device consists of sensing unit, communication unit, processing
unit, and power supply unit. Interestingly, all these units have different power requirements from one external
battery. Apart from various physical tasks in a mobile device, basic reason of power drainage in smartphones
is also the type of the networks chosen by the user. As majority of the users primarily give importance to
speed of network and are often found to migrate to 3G and 4G services. Such forms of network services use
multicarrier-based communication system where different forms of transmit power allocation is made on
each sub-carrier. After reviewing the existing system, it was found that no reported literature has focused on
this problem. Hence, although the user enjoys higher data speed, their battery drains too fast. Therefore, our
scheme presented in this paper acts as a barrier against such power seepage especially on multicarrier
networks. We have presented a model where constraints of data quality and cut-off power are considered and
a non-linear optimization problem is formulated by the proposed analytical model. Our architecture is highly
scalable and responds fast within 0.2675 to 0.5344 seconds which complies quite well with existing multi-
carrier based communication standards. We have Implemented the model on Matlab, the outcomes were
tested over various scenarios of communication channel (continuous and intermittent traffic inflicted with
standard channel condition e.g. interference and fading) to find that it excels better communication
performance as compared to existing techniques.
