The document presents a proposed energy-efficient routing protocol for mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) that addresses the challenges of dynamic topology and limited battery life of nodes. The algorithm detects impending node failures due to low battery levels and selects routes based on energy-aware metrics, significantly enhancing network lifetime while outperforming existing AODV protocols in terms of packet delivery ratio and routing overhead. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of this new approach in optimizing energy consumption and improving overall network performance.
