Heavy rainfall, river pollution, and loss of water catchment areas are increasing flood risk in Indonesia. Floods occur frequently, happening 7,574 times and causing estimated damages of IDR 30 trillion in 2014. A proposed flood barrier innovation would allow real-time monitoring of river conditions, including water flow and quality, as well as automated expansion of the barrier during floods to temporarily accommodate rising water levels and slow flooding. The system design incorporates various sensors connected to an Arduino board and smartphone app to alert authorities. The barrier has the potential to lower flood damages and make river monitoring easier for officials and the public.

Borehole magnetic resonance (BMR) logging is an emerging technology that can characterize aquifers by measuring properties like porosity, pore size distribution, bound versus mobile water, and hydraulic conductivity. Case studies in Texas showed BMR provided more detailed information than traditional logs, identifying low-TDS zones for well screens. In Arizona, BMR estimated hydraulic conductivity was higher than slug tests and aligned better with aquifer tests. BMR can improve aquifer characterization for water resource applications like well design and modeling.Â

Heavy rainfall, river pollution, and loss of water catchment areas are increasing flood risk in Indonesia. Floods occur frequently, happening 7,574 times and causing estimated damages of IDR 30 trillion in 2014. A proposed flood barrier innovation would allow real-time monitoring of river conditions, including water flow and quality, as well as automated expansion of the barrier during floods to temporarily accommodate rising water levels and slow flooding. The system design incorporates various sensors connected to an Arduino board and smartphone app to alert authorities. The barrier has the potential to lower flood damages and make river monitoring easier for officials and the public.

This document describes the design and development of an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) robot. It uses a propulsion system of four handmade waterproof thrusters controlled by a remote control. A camera provides vision and hydraulic seals prevent water leakage. The ROV is powered by a 12V battery and controlled via a wired communication system. It was concluded that the ROV was capable of completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and could be used for future oceanographic data collection, imaging, and video recording.

Borehole magnetic resonance (BMR) logging is an emerging technology that can characterize aquifers by measuring properties like porosity, pore size distribution, bound versus mobile water, and hydraulic conductivity. Case studies in Texas showed BMR provided more detailed information than traditional logs, identifying low-TDS zones for well screens. In Arizona, BMR estimated hydraulic conductivity was higher than slug tests and aligned better with aquifer tests. BMR can improve aquifer characterization for water resource applications like well design and modeling.Â
