This document summarizes a primary school's participation in an international project called "The Heritage of Europe - Traditions are a Live" from 2009-2011. The school collaborated with schools from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, and Turkey. As part of the project, students created clubs to research and present different cultural traditions through activities, presentations, and exchange visits between the partner schools. The highlights included learning about other cultures during week-long visits to each other's countries and cities. The project concluded with a final concert in Bulgaria where students performed traditional dances.

1. Project Comenius The Heritage of Europe – Traditions are a live Primary school of Viliam Zaborsky Vrable Slovakia

2. This is a short summary of our work on this wonderful international project. We started it in August 2009. We cooperated with school from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania and Turkey. So look at our results.

3. The Club of traditions We are pupils of Primary school of Viliam Záborský. We created the Club of traditions at our school in which 6 cultural clubs are working.

6. We created: the cookery book of national dishes, the postcards of spring and winter holidays,

7. the presentations, movies and calendars about spring and winter traditions, several Slovak folk dances,

8. the brochure and presentation of Grandma´s chest, The presentation of historical and unique traditions.

9. Exchange visits But exchange visits were the best part of this project. We have known the culture and traditions of other European countries. We have found new friends. We improved our English.

10. Stay in Romania Visit in Romania in Bucecea was our first stay abroad and it was great. It lasted from 22nd to 26th February 2010 We presented cookery book, winter traditions, information about country and our school system. We liked all activities . Fullday trip to the monkery and fortress near Suceava was wonderful.

11. Italy 12 students and 4 teachers spent beautiful week in the seaside town Giulianova from 10th to 14th May 2010. Each country presented calendars of spring traditions, national dances and songs. We were fascinated with the visit in Roma and Vatican.

12. Stay at our school in Slovakia 22 – 26 November 2010 We showed our winter habits to our foreign guests. Each country presented the calendar of winter traditions . We visited the High Tatras together with them. Visit of foreign friends left the nice memories.

13. Stay in Turkey We wisited mountain town Koprubasi near Izmir 14th -18th February 2011. We presented Grandma´s chest and historical traditions. Fullday trip to the ancient city of Ephesus was wonderful. We spent very nice time here.

14. Stay in Bulgaria The last visit was in Bulgaria in Lom We presented the film about the spring customs which was made by our Folk club. All countries took part in the great final concert in which also our students performed dances from our region.

17. The end of the project It´s a pity that project is finishing because the work on the project was interesting. Foreign visits gave us beautiful experiences, we have known culture of other countries. We enjoyed visits of our friends at our school.
