Animals use various physical and behavioral adaptations to protect themselves from enemies. Some animals, like lions, centipedes, and wasps, use claws, bites, or poison to fight off or injure enemies. Other animals, such as chameleons and beetles, use camouflage or mimicry to blend in with their surroundings or resemble other animals. Many animals also live in family groups and protect each other when danger is sensed. Some animals, including turtles and snails, have protective shells they can hide within for safety.
