PRESENTED BY : UROOJ TARIQ
DEPARTMENT:POLITICAL SCIENCE
SEMESTER :2ND
NEPTUNE
• Neptune is the eighth and most
distant planet from the sun.
• Neptune was discovered on
sep,23,1846.
• The name neptune comes from
Greek and Roman mythology.
• Neptune is the roman God of the
sea.
HISTORY
• The first who sighted Neptune
was Galileo. - John Couch Adams
calculated the orbit of an eighth
planet which possibly was
influencing Uranus’ movement. He
never published his calculations. -
Meanwhile, Le Verrier, arrived to a
similar conclusion, telling Johan
Galle to search for the planet. - It
was discovered on the 23rd
September 1846
NEPTUNE SYMBOL
• The symbol of Neptune is
neptune’s trident.
• A trident are 3 pronget
forck.
• Weapon associated with
the roman god
NEPTUNE MEASURMENTS
• Neptune is the fourth largest planet by width and thrid
largest by it’s weight.
• Neptune is 17 times larger than earth and bigger than
it’s near-twin uranus.
MEASURNENTS
NEPTUNE WEATHER
• Neptune is a big,cold,cloudy ,windly planet.
• It does not have cloud of water like we have ,it
was clouds of gas.
• It also have the fastest wind of all planets, its wind
travel 2,000km/h
NEPTUNE ROTATION
• A year on neptune is 60,225 days or 165 earth
years .
• Neptune’s days in 16hours on earth.
• NEPTUNE MOONS
• Neptune has total of 13 moons.
• Among the 13,triton is the largest .
• Triton which has discovered just 17 days
after neptune was found.
• After 100years later to find the second
moon,neriods.
NEPTUNE’S RINGS
• Neptune has 6 rings: Galle, Le
Verrier, Lassell, Arago, Galatea,
and Adams. Named after the
astronomers . They are difficult to
see because they are dark and vary
in size and density. The rings are all
composed of at least 20% dust, some
up to 70% and small rocks.
ATMOSPHERE
COMPOSITION
• The core of Neptune is made up of rock
and ice.
• The atmosphere of Neptune has
Hydrogen deuteride, ethane, hydrogen,
helium, and methane.
NEPTUNE’S SURFACE.
CONDITIONS
• Neptune’s temperature is about -214 degrees
Celsius or -353 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind
speeds can get up to 2,100 km/hour. • The
weather on Neptune is wild. There are huge
storms and high winds. Bright cirrus- like
clouds that come and go and there is not a lot
of sun.
