Neptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the Sun in our solar system. It is named after the Roman god of the sea. Neptune has strong winds that blow as fast as 2,000 kilometers per hour and a blue color caused by methane in its atmosphere. It has 13 known moons and rotates once every 16 hours. A year on Neptune lasts 165 Earth years.
