deny racial prejudice often make negative associations known as implicit racial associations. One
cause of negative racial associations is ingroup bias. Since the beginning of time, people have felt
the need to belong to certain groups, which lead to prejudice by splitting people into us and them,
us being the ingroup, and them being the outgroup. The ingroup, or us, are people who share a
common identity, and the outgroup, or them, is anyone who does not share this identity or belong

In the novel Fahrenheit 451, multiple abstract and concrete ideas are represented. Those ideas
include the use of the outsiders to represent the old society, the use of the mechanical hound to

However, these specific examples of representation within the novel are highlighted due to the fact
that they together compose an allegory.
Within the novel, three main societies are expressed through the representation of various
groups or characters. An old society, a middle society, and a new society are all expressed in the
book. The old society is allowed to read and possess literature. The middle society has banned
literature in order to prevent anyone from being unhappy and disagreeing with it. As one essay
written by Timothy E. Kelley expresses, the middle society are a people, who willingly give up
their right to be happy in favor of protection from ever being unhappy (Kelley n.p.). The new

learning to move forward, and appreciating who you are.
There s no doubt that the highlight of this script is Roxy. She s amusing to watch. She s clearly
flawed, controlling and reckless, but there s something very charming about her. She really has a
good heart, but she makes the wrong decisions for the right reasons.

Guinea, Mauritius, South Africa, and Libya are included in the top 100 world rank of GDP per
capita. As the climate in African countries have warranted droughts and scarce rainfall, the
citizens of the impoverished countries are left to travel miles for clean water whereas those in
more affluent neighboring countries do not have to go too far for the things they need (Nilsson
Nyanchaga, p.136). Additionally, there is inequality within various African countries as well, as
urban populations have access to piped water, whereas rural populations do not. The supply of

men being objectified rather than women, and mixed it with humor in order to create a desirable

Before turning to analysis of other techniques, it is important to mention the use of language and
sentences as well, which cannot really be seen as a persuasive technique but is a powerful tool in
manipulating audience. Sentences in the commercial are brief and straight to the point. The
narrator is confident and he knows what he is talking about no stops in between the sentences, no

powerful, even superior to the audience he is talking to. He is even making fun of the audience,
which is, however, not to be taken seriously, taking into account that the parodying tone is present
