                       Approach, there is an emphasis on
                       exposure, or input, rather than
                       practice;    optimizing     emotional
                       preparation for learning.
Some principles:
 Language is view as a vehicle for communicating
meanings and messages.
 The nature of language emphasizes the primacy of
meaning.
 Students need to understand input language.
 Formula “I + 1”
 Natural Approach assumes a lingusitic hierarchy of
structural complexity.
 The Importance of vocabulary is stressed.

   (unconscious process)

b) The Monitor Hypothesis (conscious process)

c) The Natural Order Hypothesis (predictable
    order)

d) The Input Hypothesis (exposure to
    language)

e) The Affective Filter Hypothesis (attitudinal
    variables)

     communication skills – both oral and written”
