Summary: As a National Life Science Sales Manager - you will recruit and be responsible for a team of scientific
sales representatives. You will have responsibility for field sales activities and the achievement of both national
and individual territory sales goals. Capitalizing on your prior experience in biological laboratory research, you will
use your strategic and tactical experience to assist in the development and execution of sales, marketing, and
scientific programs targeting all types academic, scientific, and pharmaceutical customers. Using your market
experience, you will work in partnership with corporate Marketing aiding in the development of tools and
programs for use by the scientific sales representatives, and/or directly for customers and potential customers.
The National Sales Manager serves as the liaison between our customers and in-house management.

change over time depending on the success of the National Sales Manager.

  1. Responsible for obtaining revenue and sales targets for Cell Media division.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the cell culturing and cryopreservation requirements for academic and commercial
institutions. This knowledge will come through prior experience as a scientist and from working in the Life Science
industry in a sales management capacity.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of a sales training program for both initial and subsequent
educational activities of the scientific sales force.
  4. Provides feedback, coaching, training and development for each sales representatives territory goals, plans,
and activities. Provides timely and regular performance evaluations of the sales team.
  5. Analyzes sales statistics to aid in directing sales representatives and prioritizing their activity, and develops
strategic territory plans in conjunction with each sales representative.
 6. Develops strategic sales plans in coordination with Marketing team and other Management and the tactical
implementation of these plans.
  7. Reports to Essential Management on developments and relevant information from the field including
competitive and market/scientific trends, customer needs, and Essential corporate and product specific feedback.
Utilizes this information to assist in the ongoing development and creation of improved cell media products, tools,
and programs.
  8. Analyzes and controls expenditures of the field sales force and makes recommendations on budgetary changes
and needs.
  9. Prepares sales and market reports for management to be used in strategic and tactical planning, as well as
product development and life-cycle management.
  10. Aid in preparing presentation for meetings and potential commercial users on the benefits of company's
media.
  11. Provide relevant scientific and market expertise in future product development and expansion roles.
  12. Work closely with all levels of management, both in the field and in-house.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
       •PhD in a life science required, or other graduate level degree with 5+ years prior relevant sales
       management experience in the Life Sciences dealing with research tools.
       •Prior cell or molecular biology lab experience preferred.
       •Comprehensive knowledge of the Life Science market space for cell culture, cryopreservation and other
       related media is strictly required, as demonstrated by experience and achievements.
      •Experience selling life science products into academic and biotech/Pharma customers.
       •Travel up to 40-50% required.
       •Proven experience working with inter-disciplinary management teams on a strategic and tactical level.
