1. Position Description
Title: Independent Sales Representative Reports To: VP of Sales
Territory: Southeastern and Midwest US
Department: Sales
FLSA Status: 1099 Issue Date: June 1, 2014
General Summary
Plan and implement sales activities, both short and long range, targeted toward existing
and new customers / markets in a designated territory with the goal of achieving annual
sales quotas and sustaining consistent long term sales growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. NOTE: Other duties
may be assigned.
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company’s objectives for
annual and long-term growth of products and services.
Achieve satisfactory profitability and market share in relation to preset standards
and industry/economic trends.
Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and
negotiate and close deals.
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product, staff
exhibit booth, conduct product training for physician attendees.
Work with established price lists and pricing guidelines. Inform Senior
Management of opportunities that may require special pricing considerations.
Seek out and identify niche market opportunities
Provide clinical “case coverage” as needed or requested by customer.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing or Communications preferred.
5-7 years progressively successful experience in medical device (preferably
gastroenterology) selling environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Driver’s License, hospital credentialing (RepTrax, etc.)
Physical Demands
Individual will need to sit (at times for extended periods) or stand as needed. May
require walking primarily on a level surface during the workday. Reaching above
shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store
materials during the workday.
NOTE: Ability to travel within designated territory up to 75% of time, as needed.
