Texas Administrative Law
Congress and the state legislative pass laws that align to the U.S. Constitution. However, the laws
enacted are general provisions that do not explain how they should be used. Thus, administrative
agencies such as federal, state, and local agencies are required to detail the policies and regulations of
the statutes. As a result, the rules and regulations established by the agency are known as
administrative laws. Administrative laws affect the daily interaction of the K 12 education system.
Educators need to be cognizant of these laws because it ensures a successful learning environment for
all students. Moreover, the laws provide guidelines in assisting students who have unique
characteristics such as English Learners (ELs).

Constitution, states have the authority to establish a free public education system to its residents (U.S.
Const. amend. X). The State of Texas obeys the amendment through Article VII of the Texas
Constitution, which states that the Texas Legislature is responsible for creating a State Board of
Education (SBOE) (T.X. Const. art. VII § 8). As a result, the State Board of Education (SBOD)
oversees Texas public schools and enforces policies and standards enacted by the Texas legislature and
the U.S. Congress. Moreover, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) works in conjunction with the
SBOE. TEA makes sure school districts are fulfilling the requirements set by the SBOD. The laws
derived from these agencies are known as state administrative laws; moreover, these laws have an
impact on ELs. Title 19, Chapter 89 of the Texas Administrative Code has important regulations that
establish an effective education for ELs. For example, the TAC contains regulations in how the
content and design of language programs should be implemented to enables ELs to become proficient
in English. For example, if a school has 20 ELs in a grade level, the school is required to implement
Bilingual education. On the other hand, if a school has less than 20 EL in a grade level then the school
is required to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction (REFERENCE) . Thus, the TAC
contains important regulations that ELs are entitled to in an effort for them to receive an adequate

The Pros And Cons Of Unauthorized Immigrants
In 2014, former President Obama introduced the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and
Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) policy which would allow for unauthorized immigrants who are
parents of U.S. citizens or permanent residents to be protected for deportation. This also included
being granted a working permit. The DAPA program was projected to provide working authorization
for over 3.7 million immigrants. According to a report done by the MPI Urban Institute, it found that
more than 10 million people live in a household with at least one adult that is eligible for DAPA
(Capps). In order to be considered for DAPA program there were certain eligibilities that parents had
to meet. Besides being the parent of a resident, the person had to be living in the U.S. since 2010, be a
high school graduate or a GED recipient and had never been convicted of a crime. To receive approval
the process would take a while because proof would have to be submitted for each eligibility. The
DAPA application also had a fee total of $465 which included the employment authorization
application and a fee for fingerprints (NILC). If put in effect, the program would ve granted a
renewable three year working permit. Even though the program was signed in 2014, it was never
allowed to be implemented because of an ongoing blockage from courts. In the United States v. Texas
case, 26 states filed a lawsuit against the Obama Administration arguing that the program went against
the constitution. This

Research Paper On The Flintstones
Apparently, the stone age was just like a 1950s American Sitcom. Who would ve thought it? The
Flintstones contains so many factual inaccuracies it would take a whole review to list them. So I will.
For a start, no matter what Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell might tell you, at no point in history
did man and dinosaur coexist. In the era of the dinosaurs the only mammals were little furry mice.
Even considering some kind of Lost World style enclave which survived extinction, the dinosaurs
portrayed in The Flintstones (those that had any basis in reality) would not coexist. They d eat each
other, then Fred Flintstone. Plus, all the inhabitants of Bedrock are Caucasian, but it is implicit that the
series is set in America, judging by the climate

Nazi Experiments
Injections, infections, and freezing temperatures. That isn t even the tip of the iceberg, the Nazis
conducted many experiments on the jews, and many of the experiments we don t know about because
most the records were burned before any of the allied powers knew what they were doing to the
Jewish race. Millions of Jews were killed in gas chambers, but not all of them were killed in such a
quicker way. Many were killed by experiments that were cruel and made them suffer days, weeks, and
maybe months. The experiments, brought much horror, millions of deaths and some helpful things.
The experiments were completely terrible. The women went through some very horrible things. SS
surgeon Karl Gebhardt picked six women to experiment on and sent them to the hospital block. The
woman s legs were shaved and cleaned. The then went to bed not knowing what they were going to
wake up to in the morning. When one of the girls woke up she found her leg in a cast. She had ...

They would completely submerged the jews under water until they would pass out or die. They also
tried to find cures for contagious diseases and find a cure for mustard gas. The Nazis also would hold
people under water till they passed out, random injections, and tying people to a bed with wet sheets
and left them until their body warmed up the sheets. One of the most known experiments is the twin
experiment. Doctor Mengele did many things about the twins. He would draw blood from the children
everyday. The smaller children had their blood drawn from their necks which made them very weak.
Dr. Mengele also dropped chemicals into the twins eyes trying to change the color to blue which left
them blind for a short amount of time or forever. He would inject one twin with a disease but if that
twin died the other would be injected the remaining twin with some sort of chemical directly into the

A Flight That Changed My Life
Most people always went through an event that has a great impact on their lives, changing the very
manner in which they view life and perceive it. My story might not outstanding to other people, but
for me, it was a spectacular changed. For years in my life, I would never forget the first time I had my
first flight. My family and I immigrated to a new country that I never thought of. Because of that
flight, my life had changed from one culture to a different culture in just 24 hours on the airplane It
was winter in 2006 when my family and I decided to move out of the country. One week before the

The Hellenized Rome Essay
The Hellenized Rome The Roman Empire began as a small colony, in the city of Rome, and
eventually, became one of the largest empires that the world has ever known before its ultimate
demise. Because of the vast size of their territory, and the number of cultures they consumed
throughout their existence, the Romans were heavily influenced by the Greeks and other Hellenistic
civilizations. Two different groups of professors argue this point. Professors Matthews, Platt, and
Noble argue this influence is reflected by Roman music, philosophy, literature, architecture, art,
culture/government, and technology and science; and Professor Weber argues this is reflected in the

continue their discourse of Hellenistic influence in philosophy. Matthews et al. state that philosophy in
the early and late Roman world was indebted to the conquered Hellenistic civilizations. In the early
Roman Empire, Greek Skepticism appealed to many Romans after the Greek philosopher, Carneades,
had been brought to Rome in 155 BCE.iii They state that Skepticism faded after Carneades death, but
was revived in the late empire, and eventually, became a permanent influence of western thought. The
later popularity of Greek Stoicism influenced a number of people including Emperor Marcus Aurelias
(Commodus). Finally, they argue that Romans synthesized the various Greek schools of philosophy
(Stoicism, Platonism, etc.) to create a new school of thought known as Neoplatonism.iv Matthews et
al. argue that Romans gained significantly from Hellenistic civilizations with respect to literature.
Their argument includes mentioning the famed library of Alexandria, which contained more than
700,000 volumes of books.v They argue that much of early Roman literature was noteworthy for its
strong Greek flavour; many early writers wrote in Greek because they found Latin inferior for high
art. Further, they state that Romans used the Greek writing style for history, lyric and epic poetry,
comedy, and tragedy before creating their own styles. Roman writers took plots from old Hellenistic
tales and breathed new life into them (such as Plautus who borrowed from the

Comparison Of Machiavellian Beliefs In The Prince And...
Niccolo Machiavelli, a Florence native, presented revolutionary ideas about leadership in his famous
work The Prince. This sort of how to handbook for rulers was written in a time when power was
frequently changing hands, leaving nations in constant confusion (The Prince, 443). Machiavelli
presented a way for these new leaders to maintain their power, encouraging such things as cruelty and
fear as a means of governing the common people. This new concept was drastically opposed to the
Christian ideals which had been taught for centuries. Despite its harshness, Machiavelli s doctrine was
accepted by many and has influenced some very popular men throughout history. One such person is
none other than William Shakespeare. Multiple plays written by Shakespeare are stories of men in
government who are either attempting to maintain their power or regain it. It is no wonder, then, why
Shakespeare would refer to The Prince as a resource when writing these plays. One play in particular,
King Lear, is evidence of Shakespeare s acknowledgement of Machiavellian beliefs. Throughout this
paly it may be witnessed how Machiavelli s ideas on what a ruler should be were taken into account
by the famous playwright, leading either to his characters success or downfall. One common theme
throughout both Machiavelli s The Prince and Shakespeare s King Lear is the frangibility of love.
According to Machiavelli, ...it is much safer to be feared than loved (The Prince, 452). He goes on to
justify this statement by observing that it is far easier to turn against one that is beloved than to defy
one who is feared. Shakespeare recognized this, incorporating into King Lear the idea that love is
quickly disregarded when opportunity comes knocking. This concept may be found throughout the
entire play, but is referenced specifically towards the beginning and end. As the opening scene begins,
King Lear is commanding his daughters to proclaim their love for him in exchange for a portion of his
kingdom. Both Regan and Gonerill put on an excellent façade of admiration for their aging father,
presenting him with the exact words he desires to hear. In return, the King grants them each a portion
of land. As the

Theme Of The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight From Heaven
Imagine a society that prevents you from being successful because of who you are. That is the kind of
life both Balram and Victor lived throughout their lives. In The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, the
main character Balram experienced excessive discrimination because of his background. People like
him who came from extreme poverty are treated like animals because of the caste system that people
in India follows as some form of tradition. On the other hand, Victor, from The Lone Ranger And
Tonto Fistfight From Heaven by Sherman Alexie, he witnesses the tragic lifestyle of native americans
in the reservation and after leaving the reservation, he also experienced discrimination because of the
stereotypes against the native americans. The marginalization Balram accustomed in the caste system
of India and Victor experienced outside of the reservation and within the community of the reservation
caused them to escape from their own lives and hope for a better reality.
Both Balram and Victor thinks that the culture that they lived throughout the most part of their life is
completely dysfunctional and that thought made them eager to attain the outside culture. The life that
Victor witnessed in the reservation and Balram witnessed in his village proved the society they live in
is flawed. In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven, Victor and Adrian watches the
basketball game of Julius but he is not doing as well as they expected him to be. After the basketball
game, Victor

anaphora bolsters the societal criticism of the poem by allowing for deconstruction of ideals that the
world supposedly loves. An example of this is the line: All / The world loves / A nuclear family, /

Virgin s music, retail, and vision business was brought together to form the Virgin Group and 35% of
its equity was listed. Branson was not happy with this new arrangement because of the control that
shareholders would hold on direction and this was not in keeping with his nonconformist style and
also that he felt that his organization was misunderstood and undervalued by so called experts. The

Stereotypes Of Nationalism And Racism
Introduction Nationalism is, according to AP World History textbook The Earth and Its Peoples, a
political ideology that stresses people s membership in a nation (Bulliet). This term, often connected
to patriotism and unity, is also seen as a synonym for racism and bigotry (Stevens). Though
nationalism has had a positive effect on many nations some would even claim it to be the most
influential idea in unification during the 1800s it has also been detrimental to world cultures (Bulliet).
Though nationalism may not be the same as racism, there is a fine line between innocent passion for
one s country and ethnic superiority (Ezzat). Extreme nationalism is shown in acts against foreign
cultures such as genocide, assimilation, media hate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of trying to stop nationalism itself, the solution should be to stop some of its effects. One way
to counteract extreme nationalism is to support acts that bring awareness to and try to end genocide;
there are organizations that fight for genocide awareness, such as the United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum ( Jewish Population of Europe in 1945 ). Some countries already put in place
measures to protect minorities, such as the countries who ban holocaust denial. There is no way to
stop hate, but people can be aware of their own nationalism, and how it can be detrimental.
Nationalism has its benefits but it also has its damaging aspects, like genocide, racism, assimilation
and hate speech. Because of these negative effects, nationalism is a driving force in dehumanization of

across the western shoreline of the lake. The Maroon Bells will present you with wonderful views as
you hike along the trail. At the end of the lake vista, a valley opens up. The western side of the valley

The Prince Power
The Prince in many ways can be read as a type of treatise for people in power looking for ways to
secure their position. Included in what could be considered a handbook, are several suggestions on
how to handle principalities and a large part of the suggestions take into consideration the role of the
people and what that means to the king s ruling. Machiavelli s The Prince, suggests that attaining
glory as a king lies in establishing a division between ruler and citizens.
To have glory means to have done something worth of praise and respect. The text suggests a ruler
must present himself as unpredictable Thus [Castille] has always plotted and achieved great things
which have never failed to keep his subjects in a state of suspense and amazement ... Show more

He might be chosen by the nobles, who look for a mouthpiece that will guarantee the elite control of
the principality, or by the common people themselves, looking for a savoir that will keep in touch with
his roots and not turn back on the people who elected him. However, a ruler will run into problems
regardless of how he gains control if he does not create the fine line between himself and the people. A
man who becomes ruler through the help of the nobles will find it harder to maintain his power than
on who becomes ruler through the help of the people, because he is surrounded by many men who
consider that they are his equals, and therefore he cannot give them orders or deal with them as he
would wish (34). A distinction between power has to be implemented by the ruler as soon as he s
placed into power or he runs the risk of being over taken by the very people who placed him in that
position. Once the ruler is considered an equal by more than a handful of close people, he is easier to
discredit and his position is no longer as highly respected. Machiavelli spends a considerable portion
of his book, The Prince, explaining how the people of the state are an important factor in the success
of the ruler, success in this case meaning glory for the king. By slowly but not harshly starting a
separation of king and people, a ruler creates the line of unattainability but respect that will not allow
for people to even dream of reaching his level of

The Pros And Cons Of Medical Marijuana
Pros and Cons of Medical Marijuana
Have you ever felt like your prescribed medicine isn t working? Maybe the medicine is causing even
more issues than when you began? There is another answer to these problems, and a new way to ease
pain. Medical marijuana may be the holy grail to medicine. Marijuana, also known as cannabis sativa
(National Institute on Drug Abuse), is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese
medicine (Torrey). One in three Americans have used Marijuana at least once ( Negative Side Effects
of Smoking Marijuana ). The two medical active ingredients are cannabidiol also known as CBD, and
tetrahydrocannabinol also known as THC. CBD has an impact on the brain without the high. THC has
pain relieving properties and gives a person that high feeling (Loria). Marijuana affects everyone
differently, but there are some pros and cons that have an effect on everyone.
There are some short term negative effects that come with abusing the substance. Side effects include
less coordination , skin rashes, dry mouth, fatigue, blurred vision , distrust, depression, suicidal
thoughts, and memory loss. Overdose on marijuana causes anxiety and panic (Tracy;Watson).
Three of the most common short term side effects are headaches, paranoia, and allergy.
The headache might be caused by the rolling papers having irritating chemicals, and residual
fertilizers that are used on the marijuana plant. The paranoia comes from smoking way too often. It

The Rayleigh-Bénard Problem
Mechanics of Fluids and the
Rayleigh Bénard Problem 1 Introduction
The motion of fluids in certain systems continues to be a relevant to physicists. From the coiling of
dribbling fluids to the convection current of a slice of fluid heated from below, patterns forming in
natural systems are still unsolved. The best that can be done is to make models of the systems and use
approximations.
In this paper I will give an overview of the Rayleigh Bénard problem as well as describe the
derivation of a four mode lorenz model and a linear stability analysis of the hydrodynamic equations
to find the critical Rayleigh number responsible for predicting convection in a system.
2 Basic Fluid Dynamics
2.1 What is a fluid?
A fluid is a substance that will deform (flow) when a shear stress is applied. This is in contrast to a
solid, which will compress rather than continuously deform under such a stress. Fluids are a subset of
the phases of matter and include liquids (incompressible fluids), and gases (compressible fluids).
Shown in Figure 2.1.1 is of a slice of fluid between two plates undergoing a shear stress. The bottom
plate is stationary, while the top one is allowed to move. The fluid adjacent to the top plate will be
pulled along at about the same speed as the plate, but the layer of fluid below that resists the motion
just a bit and moves slower, same with the layer below that all the way to the layer next to the bottom
plate. Figure 2.1.1

created the program a social worker at the Children Medical Practice at Bayview Hospital. His
inspiration to build this program at Bayview Hospital was inspire by his colleague Jessica Contreras a
community health worker at Bayview Hospital and the founder of the program Jugamos Con Ninos at
Casey Family Services. Joshua volunteered to work with Jessica and since has noticed how impactful
the program was for new mothers and mothers that don t understand how important it is to build

This is because in the Hispanic culture mothers are the caregivers. Motherhood is highly valued and
families expect women to care for children as well as family members. Their role is to nurture while
the husband is at work leaving them with no actual support system. This at times can be difficult for
new mothers and mothers who are not aware of the importance of parenting. This program was
created to teach mothers about how their behavior can affect their child, understand the importance of
parenting skills, and keeping mothers aware that their actions impact their child s future. The goal of

My Passion For Football
Ever since I could walk, I can remember being involved in some kind of sport. Whether it was
recreational or competitive, I wanted to be involved in it. As the years went on, my passion for
athletics narrowed to one particular sport, football. What drew me to this particular sport are its three
main characteristics: physicality, mental prowess, and the intangibles. These assets are required for not
only a person, but a team to be successful.
The physical aspect of the game of football separates those who are truly dedicated and motivated
from those who aren t willing to sacrifice their body. That sacrifice doesn t just mean throwing my
body into a collision. It entails the preparation, not just the performance. This takes place in the
weightroom and on the practice field. There are days when lifting and conditioning aren t the most fun
activity, just like going to school. But, to excel in both areas requires the dedication to work and
prepare when it s not convenient. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have to know what every teammate is doing on any given play. I also have to figure out what the
defense s plan is. In a way, football is like a game of chess, full of calculated risks and strategy. My
experience at my position has taught me how and when to take those risks, and when it is best play it
safe. The analytical aspect of football is the most crucial and unseen characteristic of the game.
The last main characteristic, intangibles, can be described most accurately with the word passion.
Passion is what fuels every effort towards success on the field. It is what gets me up early in the
summer to workout, or to run and extra sprint when my body aches not to. It s why I ve spent
countless hours studying film on opponents. When I have a passion for something, I want to do
everything in my power to perform at the best of my

Analysis Of The Movie The Big Sleep
In The Big Sleep, Chandler portrays Marlowe as the knight in shining armor. This establishes a motif
of the stained glass window in General Stern wood s home in the first chapter of the novel and is an
appropriate motif in dictating Marlowe s knightly role in the novel. The stained glass that is reflected
in the novel places Marlowe in the position of the knight as it shows a knight who strives to reach a
woman to set her free. The fact that he stares at the glass makes him develop the need to offer
assistance. This motif is suitable because it sets the stage for what is to take place in the aftermath
when Marlowe rescues Carmen. Secondly, Chandler tries to connect Marlowe with the knightly
personality from the beginning of the novel that he intended to name his detective the modern knight
and a brave man fighting for General Sternwood. He takes the role of the servant to Sternwood s lord
and therefore, in the knightly terms, it is sufficient to say that Marlowe is striving to find justice.
Moreover, he is dedicated to rendering his services in the line of duty with much loyalty and honor
despite the sexual and financial temptations that come his way. Like the ancient knights, Marlowe has
deeply invested in his personal code of chivalry that contain among others, the need to overcome the
sexual temptation of whatever magnitude that comes his way. Lastly, as a representation of the modern
day knight, Marlowe comes out in the novel as a tough detective and a brave individual

Application Of The Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act
Introduction
The upward trend of the need for essential healthcare services, along with implementation of the
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, demonstrates the need for quality professionals to serve
the public. Nurse Practitioners (NP) are skillfully trained and highly educated to handle this rapid
transition. NPs are defined as RNs who have additional education and perform advanced nursing roles
including consultation, education, research, and leadership. These healthcare providers demonstrate
superior competencies to practice autonomously and collaboratively to perform assessments, order
laboratory and diagnostic test, diagnose, prescribe medications and treatments, and perform
procedures, as authorized by legislation and their regulatory scope of practice (Faith et al., 2014, p. 2).
In this community, there is currently one urgent care center and one Minute Clinic located inside CVS
Pharmacy. However, both of these facilities have limited services hours and do not operated on any
weekends or holidays. This business plan is a proposal to launch a nurse practitioner urgent care clinic
that accommodates this community s health related needs afterhours, weekends, and most major
holidays. Helping Hands Urgent Care is designed to service the entire family starting at 18 months.

Have you ever heard of the witching hour? The period between 3 am and 4 am is often referred to as
the witching or devil hour, since that is when paranormal forces are at their strongest. Some high
school students choose to leave their home and hang out in the streets during this time. Whether you
believe in paranormal forces or not, it is not safe for minors to be outside after midnight. Kids often
view curfews as an unnecessary rule, but there are many benefits to having one. They have often been
implemented by parents, but there is none that is country wide. There should be a legal curfew for
minors because it protects them from harm, improves their mental health, and reduces the rate of
juvenile crime.

certain time. After all, there are many benefits to a curfew, including extra protection against
paranormal activity!

Neil Macdonald s Article On The Issue With Canadian Politics
Neil MacDonald s article on the issue with Canadian politics is filled with the richest form of sarcasm
that pinpoints exactly how juvenile this topic truly is. In my article that I choose, MacDonald takes a
look at the issue of the nigab and other Muslim related topics and how the current Canadian politics is
strategically creating an invisible barrier between Muslims and Canadians. I will first start off with a
brief summary of the article followed by how Edward Said and Jasmine Zine discuss what is currently
happening with the niqab.
Summary: In MacDonald s article, The barbaric cultural practice of election pronouncements, he looks
at how the current Canadian political election has created this barrier between Muslims and
Canadians. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Said had looked into how the West had put a distinction to isolate the Orient from themselves. This
would have by usually putting them in a viewpoint as having more barbaric and savage values then the
West. This is clearly seen in the article that MacDonald had written. MacDonald finds that the current
Election has created a barrier making a distinction between Muslims and putting them as the outsiders.
In the article MacDonald finds that many times it is not just saying it bluntly rather it is quick jabs at
Muslims. [...] We were reminded by the immigration minister [...] that Canada now has something
called the Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act. (MacDonald, 2015) Of course, many
can argue that the immigration minister was not directly attacking Muslims and yet when one reads
the word barbaric, they connate help but think about the barbaric actions that happen almost everyday
in the Middle East. Although Said didn t directly look into gender orientalism he had made a great
point in his article when discussing how the West view woman in an Oriental society. [...] she never
spoke of herself, and she never represented her emotions, presence or history. He spoke for and
represented her. He was foreign, comparatively wealthy, male [...] (Said, Page 6). In this part Said is
discussing how Western men would

The common cause of wildfires begin with lightning, human carelessness, volcano eruptions, arson,
and pyroclastic clouds from active volcanoes. Droughts, heat waves, and climate change can also have
a dramatic effect on the danger of wildfires. Although wildfires

Comparing Marriage Proposals In Pride And Prejudice And...
Marriage Proposals
A marriage proposal is an occasion where one person in a relationship asks for the other s hand in
marriage. Overtime, marriage proposals have changed in virtually all cultures. In the 1800s, marriage
was more for social gain or monetary gain. However, marriage for love wasn t unknown. William
Collins proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Jane Austen s novel, Pride and Prejudice and Bradley
Headstone s proposal to Lizzie Hexam in Charles Dickens s Our Mutual Friend are perfect examples
of two different types of marriage proposals that may have been giving during the 1800s. Analyzing
Mr. Headstones and Mr. Collins techniques and the language used in their proposals reveal the
weaknesses and strengths of their proposals.
Mr. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Collins in his marriage proposal is more direct and straightforward while Mr. Headstone is more
sincere. Mr. Collin starts off his marriage proposal by being logical and giving reasons why he is
interested in marrying Mr. Collins. Mr. Collins doesn t mention his love or her value to him. In fact,
Mr. Collins mostly speaks about another woman, his sponsor, Mrs. De Bourghs. To discuss another
women during a proposal is not flattering. Mr. Collins reveals that he only wishes to marry due to Mrs.
De Bourgh s recommendation that he get married. Marriage proposals only should focus on the person
you are proposing. Not only did Mr. Collins include another person in his proposal, he talks about her
power and influence over him. He admits the type of women is one that is a gentle women for [Mrs.
De Bourghs ] sake. His focus on Bourghs needs and desires in his proposal suggests his lack of
passion and regard for Ms. Bennet and would only appeal to a woman with only practical
concerns. Thus Mr. Collins direct, passionless approach and his mention of Mrs. De Bourghs creates a
more logic based and dull proposal. However, Mr. Headstone discusses Ms. Hexam s value and the
power she has over him. His initial statement of I love you crescendos through his proposal. Also, he
later states that she draw [him] to anything. Mr. Headstone reveals that his love for her can cause him
to do anything she wants, even if it means going to the gallows. Thus, Mr. Headstone creates a much
more emotion based proposal. In the end, Mr. Collin s direct approach which lacked pizzazz, passion
and emotion created a less effective marriage proposal. Ultimately, Mr. Headstone s expression of his
emotions and love, his connection to her and his sincere approach allowed him to create a more
effective marriage

Essay on Enlightened Despots
Enlightened Despots Enlightened despots believed that political change could best come from above;
from the ruler. However, they were encouraged by the philosophers to make good laws to promote
human happiness. How did these monarchs differ from earlier unenlightened monarchs of the past?
The difference lay in tempo. These new despots acted abruptly and desired quicker results. They were
impatient with all that stood in the way of their reforms. In addition, they justified their authority on
the grounds of usefulness, not divine right. These new monarchs were rational and reformist and they
regarded political change as possible and desirable. Frederick the Great, Catherine the Great, and
Joseph II are good examples of Enlightened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catherine the Great was the German wife of Peter III. She corresponded actively with Voltaire and
other prominent eighteenth century thinkers, and paid lip service to their liberal ideas; but she did little
to reform or modernize Russia. She introduced such western ideas as pleased her, at the same time
increasing Russian autocracy and military power. In addition, she extended Russia s boundaries
southward and westward. Catherine joined with Austria and Prussia in three partitions that completely
eliminated independent Poland. On the death of Charles VI (1740), the Habsburg dominions passed to
his twenty three year old daughter Maria Theresa. The German princes ignored the Pragmatic
Sanction (1713) guaranteeing her succession, and looked forward to partitioning the Habsburg s lands.
Frederick the Great, who had just inherited the Prussian throne, was first to strike. He invaded Silesia
and won solid victories. Maria Theresa soon demonstrated that she had a strong mind and will of her
own. She went to Hungary s Magyar nobles and appealed for support. In exchange for her promise of
sovereignty within the Habsburg Empire, the Magyars offered her loyalty and the troops necessary to
resist the invaders. With Hungarian troops and British and Dutch financial aide she was able to fight
Prussia to a standstill, but she did not regain Silesia. The Empress Maria Theresa believed in the need
for reform. She increased taxes on

Philippe Petit: Sane Wire Walker What do you think when you imagine a man walking on a wire

believe the people/society thinks he is crazy. They see this man up hundreds of feet walking across a

Steve Irwin, do you think he is crazy? Steve Irwin wrestles alligators, crocodiles, snakes, and other
wild animals. He prepared for his kind of work, schooling, learning how to read animals, what they
tend to do when aggravated. Yes, he went after dangerous animals but he knew what he was doing,
just like Petit. It was a dangerous thing to be doing, but he was prepared to do so. So no, Philippe Petit
isn t crazy, just well managed, well trained, and well prepared for what he has done. Petit passed an
evaluation to test if there was something wrong with him. Also, because what he does is dangerous
doesn t mean he isn t right in the head. Just look at Steve Irwin and think twice before judging. He
brought entertainment to the people, inspiration that anything is possible. Petit is just another human
being that chased a dream, and accomplished his goal.

Saint Augustine Of Hippo Once Stated
Saint Augustine of Hippo once stated, The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one
page. It was after stumbling across this statement that I was influenced to call up my friend and
suggest a road trip.
When we started off, it was a beautiful day. The bright morning sun peeked over the Appalachian
mountains to bid us farewell as we packed our belongings into the 2011 Chevy Cruze. Dew still
perched on the delicate leaves of various summer flowers while we rode down the road towards
Tennessee.
My friend Sarah drove. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel in rhythm to the Carrie Underwood song
blaring from the radio. It was the radio s job to keep us awake since we had left so early in the
morning; however, it was not doing a good job as I fell asleep only twenty minutes into the ride. Sarah
had to wake me up at the rest stop just outside of Roanoke, Virginia.
Hey, Allyson, she called as she shook my shoulders, it would be nice if you woke up, so I could take a
nap.
I just mumbled an incoherent string of words in response.
I can just drive right back to Pennsylvania. We don t have to take a road trip.
That got me up. I had so much invested into this trip like money and time.
I sat in the driver s seat and watched the road continuously channel under the car sort of like a
conveyor belt. It was hypnotizing, just keeping my eye on the road. Before either Sarah or I knew it,
we were already parked in front of our hotel in Gatlinburg,

However, the laws enacted are general provisions that do not explain how they should be used. Thus, administrative agencies such as federal, state, and local agencies are required to detail the policies and regulations of the statutes. As a result, the rules and regulations established by the agency are known as administrative laws. Administrative laws affect the daily interaction of the K 12 education system. Educators need to be cognizant of these laws because it ensures a successful learning environment for all students. Constitution, states have the authority to establish a free public education system to its residents (U.S. Const. amend. X). The State of Texas obeys the amendment through Article VII of the Texas Constitution, which states that the Texas Legislature is responsible for creating a State Board of Education (SBOE) (T.X. Const. art. VII § 8). As a result, the State Board of Education (SBOD) oversees Texas public schools and enforces policies and standards enacted by the Texas legislature and the U.S. Congress. Moreover, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) works in conjunction with the SBOE. TEA makes sure school districts are fulfilling the requirements set by the SBOD. The laws derived from these agencies are known as state administrative laws; moreover, these laws have an impact on ELs. Title 19, Chapter 89 of the Texas Administrative Code has important regulations that establish an effective education for ELs. For example, the TAC contains regulations in how the content and design of language programs should be implemented to enables ELs to become proficient in English. • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Unauthorized Immigrants In 2014, former President Obama introduced the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) policy which would allow for unauthorized immigrants who are parents of U.S. citizens or permanent residents to be protected for deportation. This also included being granted a working permit. The DAPA program was projected to provide working authorization for over 3.7 million immigrants. According to a report done by the MPI Urban Institute, it found that more than 10 million people live in a household with at least one adult that is eligible for DAPA (Capps). The DAPA application also had a fee total of $465 which included the employment authorization application and a fee for fingerprints (NILC). If put in effect, the program would ve granted a renewable three year working permit. Even though the program was signed in 2014, it was never allowed to be implemented because of an ongoing blockage from courts. In the United States v. Texas case, 26 states filed a lawsuit against the Obama Administration arguing that the program went against the constitution. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Flintstones contains so many factual inaccuracies it would take a whole review to list them. So I will. For a start, no matter what Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell might tell you, at no point in history did man and dinosaur coexist. In the era of the dinosaurs the only mammals were little furry mice. Even considering some kind of Lost World style enclave which survived extinction, the dinosaurs portrayed in The Flintstones (those that had any basis in reality) would not coexist. That isn t even the tip of the iceberg, the Nazis conducted many experiments on the jews, and many of the experiments we don t know about because most the records were burned before any of the allied powers knew what they were doing to the Jewish race. Millions of Jews were killed in gas chambers, but not all of them were killed in such a quicker way. Many were killed by experiments that were cruel and made them suffer days, weeks, and maybe months. The experiments, brought much horror, millions of deaths and some helpful things. The experiments were completely terrible. The women went through some very horrible things. SS surgeon Karl Gebhardt picked six women to experiment on and sent them to the hospital block. The Hellenized Rome Essay The Hellenized Rome The Roman Empire began as a small colony, in the city of Rome, and eventually, became one of the largest empires that the world has ever known before its ultimate demise. Because of the vast size of their territory, and the number of cultures they consumed throughout their existence, the Romans were heavily influenced by the Greeks and other Hellenistic civilizations. Two different groups of professors argue this point. Professors Matthews, Platt, and Noble argue this influence is reflected by Roman music, philosophy, literature, architecture, art, culture/government, and technology and science; and Professor Weber argues this is reflected in the areas of government/law, the influence and effects of conquests, ... Matthews et al. state that philosophy in the early and late Roman world was indebted to the conquered Hellenistic civilizations. In the early Roman Empire, Greek Skepticism appealed to many Romans after the Greek philosopher, Carneades, had been brought to Rome in 155 BCE.iii They state that Skepticism faded after Carneades death, but was revived in the late empire, and eventually, became a permanent influence of western thought. The later popularity of Greek Stoicism influenced a number of people including Emperor Marcus Aurelias (Commodus). Finally, they argue that Romans synthesized the various Greek schools of philosophy (Stoicism, Platonism, etc.) to create a new school of thought known as Neoplatonism.iv Matthews et al. argue that Romans gained significantly from Hellenistic civilizations with respect to literature. Their argument includes mentioning the famed library of Alexandria, which contained more than 700,000 volumes of books.v They argue that much of early Roman literature was noteworthy for its strong Greek flavour; many early writers wrote in Greek because they found Latin inferior for high art. Further, they state that Romans used the Greek writing style for history, lyric and epic poetry, comedy, and tragedy before creating their own styles. • 10. Comparison Of Machiavellian Beliefs In The Prince And... Niccolo Machiavelli, a Florence native, presented revolutionary ideas about leadership in his famous work The Prince. This sort of how to handbook for rulers was written in a time when power was frequently changing hands, leaving nations in constant confusion (The Prince, 443). Machiavelli presented a way for these new leaders to maintain their power, encouraging such things as cruelty and fear as a means of governing the common people. This new concept was drastically opposed to the Christian ideals which had been taught for centuries. Despite its harshness, Machiavelli s doctrine was accepted by many and has influenced some very popular men throughout history. One such person is none other than William Shakespeare. Multiple plays written by Shakespeare are stories of men in government who are either attempting to maintain their power or regain it. It is no wonder, then, why Shakespeare would refer to The Prince as a resource when writing these plays. One play in particular, King Lear, is evidence of Shakespeare s acknowledgement of Machiavellian beliefs. Throughout this paly it may be witnessed how Machiavelli s ideas on what a ruler should be were taken into account by the famous playwright, leading either to his characters success or downfall. One common theme throughout both Machiavelli s The Prince and Shakespeare s King Lear is the frangibility of love. According to Machiavelli, ...it is much safer to be feared than loved (The Prince, 452). He goes on to justify this statement by observing that it is far easier to turn against one that is beloved than to defy one who is feared. Shakespeare recognized this, incorporating into King Lear the idea that love is quickly disregarded when opportunity comes knocking. This concept may be found throughout the entire play, but is referenced specifically towards the beginning and end. As the opening scene begins, King Lear is commanding his daughters to proclaim their love for him in exchange for a portion of his kingdom. Both Regan and Gonerill put on an excellent façade of admiration for their aging father, presenting him with the exact words he desires to hear. In return, the King grants them each a portion of land. As the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, the main character Balram experienced excessive discrimination because of his background. On the other hand, Victor, from The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight From Heaven by Sherman Alexie, he witnesses the tragic lifestyle of native americans in the reservation and after leaving the reservation, he also experienced discrimination because of the stereotypes against the native americans. The marginalization Balram accustomed in the caste system of India and Victor experienced outside of the reservation and within the community of the reservation caused them to escape from their own lives and hope for a better reality. Though nationalism has had a positive effect on many nations some would even claim it to be the most influential idea in unification during the 1800s it has also been detrimental to world cultures (Bulliet). Included in what could be considered a handbook, are several suggestions on how to handle principalities and a large part of the suggestions take into consideration the role of the people and what that means to the king s ruling. Machiavelli s The Prince, suggests that attaining glory as a king lies in establishing a division between ruler and citizens. To have glory means to have done something worth of praise and respect. However, a ruler will run into problems regardless of how he gains control if he does not create the fine line between himself and the people. A man who becomes ruler through the help of the nobles will find it harder to maintain his power than on who becomes ruler through the help of the people, because he is surrounded by many men who consider that they are his equals, and therefore he cannot give them orders or deal with them as he would wish (34). Once the ruler is considered an equal by more than a handful of close people, he is easier to discredit and his position is no longer as highly respected. Machiavelli spends a considerable portion of his book, The Prince, explaining how the people of the state are an important factor in the success of the ruler, success in this case meaning glory for the king. From the coiling of dribbling fluids to the convection current of a slice of fluid heated from below, patterns forming in natural systems are still unsolved. The best that can be done is to make models of the systems and use approximations. In this paper I will give an overview of the Rayleigh Bénard problem as well as describe the derivation of a four mode lorenz model and a linear stability analysis of the hydrodynamic equations to find the critical Rayleigh number responsible for predicting convection in a system. 2 Basic Fluid Dynamics 2.1 What is a fluid? A fluid is a substance that will deform (flow) when a shear stress is applied. This is in contrast to a solid, which will compress rather than continuously deform under such a stress. Fluids are a subset of the phases of matter and include liquids (incompressible fluids), and gases (compressible fluids). Shown in Figure 2.1.1 is of a slice of fluid between two plates undergoing a shear stress. The bottom plate is stationary, while the top one is allowed to move. The fluid adjacent to the top plate will be pulled along at about the same speed as the plate, but the layer of fluid below that resists the motion just a bit and moves slower, same with the layer below that all the way to the layer next to the bottom plate. • 26. Analysis Of The Movie The Big Sleep In The Big Sleep, Chandler portrays Marlowe as the knight in shining armor. This establishes a motif of the stained glass window in General Stern wood s home in the first chapter of the novel and is an appropriate motif in dictating Marlowe s knightly role in the novel. The stained glass that is reflected in the novel places Marlowe in the position of the knight as it shows a knight who strives to reach a woman to set her free. The fact that he stares at the glass makes him develop the need to offer assistance. This motif is suitable because it sets the stage for what is to take place in the aftermath when Marlowe rescues Carmen. Secondly, Chandler tries to connect Marlowe with the knightly personality from the beginning of the novel that he intended to name his detective the modern knight and a brave man fighting for General Sternwood. He takes the role of the servant to Sternwood s lord and therefore, in the knightly terms, it is sufficient to say that Marlowe is striving to find justice. Moreover, he is dedicated to rendering his services in the line of duty with much loyalty and honor despite the sexual and financial temptations that come his way. His focus on Bourghs needs and desires in his proposal suggests his lack of passion and regard for Ms. Bennet and would only appeal to a woman with only practical concerns. Thus Mr. Collins direct, passionless approach and his mention of Mrs. De Bourghs creates a more logic based and dull proposal. However, Mr. Headstone discusses Ms. Hexam s value and the power she has over him. His initial statement of I love you crescendos through his proposal. Also, he later states that she draw [him] to anything. Mr. Headstone reveals that his love for her can cause him to do anything she wants, even if it means going to the gallows. Thus, Mr. Headstone creates a much more emotion based proposal. In the end, Mr. Collin s direct approach which lacked pizzazz, passion and emotion created a less effective marriage proposal. Ultimately, Mr. Headstone s expression of his emotions and love, his connection to her and his sincere approach allowed him to create a more effective marriage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Essay on Enlightened Despots Enlightened Despots Enlightened despots believed that political change could best come from above; from the ruler. However, they were encouraged by the philosophers to make good laws to promote human happiness. How did these monarchs differ from earlier unenlightened monarchs of the past? The difference lay in tempo. These new despots acted abruptly and desired quicker results. They were impatient with all that stood in the way of their reforms. In addition, they justified their authority on the grounds of usefulness, not divine right. On the death of Charles VI (1740), the Habsburg dominions passed to his twenty three year old daughter Maria Theresa. The German princes ignored the Pragmatic Sanction (1713) guaranteeing her succession, and looked forward to partitioning the Habsburg s lands. Maria Theresa soon demonstrated that she had a strong mind and will of her own. She went to Hungary s Magyar nobles and appealed for support. In exchange for her promise of sovereignty within the Habsburg Empire, the Magyars offered her loyalty and the troops necessary to resist the invaders. With Hungarian troops and British and Dutch financial aide she was able to fight Prussia to a standstill, but she did not regain Silesia. The Empress Maria Theresa believed in the need for reform. He prepared for his kind of work, schooling, learning how to read animals, what they tend to do when aggravated. Yes, he went after dangerous animals but he knew what he was doing, just like Petit. It was a dangerous thing to be doing, but he was prepared to do so. So no, Philippe Petit isn t crazy, just well managed, well trained, and well prepared for what he has done. Petit passed an evaluation to test if there was something wrong with him. Also, because what he does is dangerous doesn t mean he isn t right in the head. • 36. Saint Augustine Of Hippo Once Stated Saint Augustine of Hippo once stated, The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. It was after stumbling across this statement that I was influenced to call up my friend and suggest a road trip. When we started off, it was a beautiful day. The bright morning sun peeked over the Appalachian mountains to bid us farewell as we packed our belongings into the 2011 Chevy Cruze. Dew still perched on the delicate leaves of various summer flowers while we rode down the road towards Tennessee. My friend Sarah drove. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel in rhythm to the Carrie Underwood song blaring from the radio. It was the radio s job to keep us awake since we had left so early in the morning; however, it was not doing a good job as I fell asleep only twenty minutes into the ride. Sarah had to wake me up at the rest stop just outside of Roanoke, Virginia. Hey, Allyson, she called as she shook my shoulders, it would be nice if you woke up, so I could take a nap. I just mumbled an incoherent string of words in response. I can just drive right back to Pennsylvania. We don t have to take a road trip. That got me up. I had so much invested into this trip like money and time. I sat in the driver s seat and watched the road continuously channel under the car sort of like a conveyor belt. It was hypnotizing, just keeping my eye on the road. Before either Sarah or I knew it, we were already parked in front of our hotel in Gatlinburg, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
