This document discusses Antoinette Domosmog, a 19-year-old student studying Bachelor of Education at Cebu Technological University. It defines educational technology as involving people, procedures, ideas, devices and organization to analyze and solve problems in human learning. Educational technology can be used traditionally to deliver instruction or constructively as a partner in the learning process. When used effectively, technology can increase motivation, encourage collaboration, and support critical and problem solving skills. The document also discusses systematic approaches to teaching, Edgar Dale's Cone of Experiences, and learning theories like constructivism, generative learning, and discovery learning. Antoinette learns that technology has an important role for students and teachers but must be used carefully to

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

4. Educational Technology
Educational Technology is a “complex,
integrated process involving people,
procedures, ideas, devices and
organization for analyzing problems and
devising, implementing, evaluating and
managing solutions to those problems
involved in all aspects of human
learning”.
5. Educational Technology
Consists of the designs and environments
that engage learners and reliable
techniques or method for engaging
learning such as cognitive learning
strategies and critical thinking skills.
6. Educational Technology
Is a theory about how problems in human
learning are identified and solved. Has an
integrated set of principles that explains
and predict observed events.
7. Educational Technology
Is a field involved in applying a complex,
integrated process to analyze and solve
problems in human learning.
8. Educational Technology
Is a profession like teaching. It is made up
of organized effort to implement the
theory, intellectual technique and
practical application of educational
technology.
9.
10. Technology; Boon?
• It means a, there is
a lot that we can do
which we could not
blessing.
• With technologydo
then.
11. Technology; Bane?
• It means a curse.
• Technology becomes a
detriment to learning
and development.
• The abuse and misuse
of the internet will
have far reaching
unfavorable effects on
his moral life.
12. The Roles of Educational Technology in
Learning
Traditional Way
• As delivery
vehicles for
instructional
lessons.
Constructivist Way
• As partner in the
learning process.
13. Traditional Way
• The learners learn from the technology and
the technology serves as a Teacher.
• Technology serves as a source and presenter
of knowledge.
• It is assumed that “knowledge is embedded in
the technology and the technology presents
that knowledge to a student.”
• Technology like computers is seen as
productivity tool.
14. Constructivist Way
• Technology serves as a partner in learning.
• Educational technology serves as a learning
tools to learn with.
• It engages learners in active, constructive,
intentional, authentic and cooperative
learning.
• It provides opportunities for technology and
learner interaction for meaningful learning.
15. Roles of Technology in Learning
• Technology as tools to support knowledge
construction.
• Technology as information vehicles for exploring
knowledge to support learning – by- constructing.
• Technology as context to support learning – by –
doing
• Technology as a social medium to support
learning by conversing
• Technology as intellectual partner to support
learning –by – reflecting.
16.
17. When used effectively, research
indicates that technology:
augments motivation to learn;
encourages collaborative learning;
supports the development of critical
thinking skills; and
supports the development of problem
solving skills
18. Systematic Approach to Teaching
The view of Systematic Approach to
Learning for the entire education
program have interrelated parts such
as: the school, the teacher, the
students, the objectives, assessment
tools and procedures.
19. 3 things to consider in making an objective
• R - Readiness
• I - Interest
• N - Needs
20. 5 Characteristics of an Objective
• S - Specific
• M - Measurable
• A - Attainable
• R - Realistic/ Result
Oriented
• T - Time Bounded
21. 3 Learning Domains that must be
considered in making objective
• C - Cognitive Domain
• A -Affective Domain
• P - Psychomotor Domain
23. Conceptual Model of Learning
CONSTRUCTIVISM
GENERATIVE
LEARNING
DISCOVERY
LEARNING
MEANINGFUL
LEARNING
24. Meaningful experience
refers to the concept that learned
knowledge is fully understood by the
individual and that the individual knows how
that specific fact relates to other stored facts.
25. Discovery Learning
is a technique of inquiry-based learning
and is considered a constructivist based
approach to education. It is supported by the
work of learning theorists and psychologists
Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, and Seymour
Papert.
26. Generative Learning
is a theory that involves the active
integration of new ideas with the learner’s
existing schemata. The main idea of
generative learning is that, in order to learn
with understanding, a learner has to construct
meaning activity.
27. Constructivism
is a learning theory found in psychology
which explains how people might acquire
knowledge and learn. It therefore has direct
application to education. The theory suggests
that humans construct knowledge and
meaning from their experiences.
28. Learning Through EDTECH 1 and
EDTECH 2
I learn that technology is not just for fun
but it has very important role of students and
teachers. As times goes by instructional
materials are the same as before because
technology change it overtime to make us
more productive and more effective. So why
can we go back in time if there is technology
that we can use it easily.
29. The Student After EDTECH
We use it as an instructional aid to achieve our
objectives and impart learning to our student.
Therefore, we must be careful using
technology because too much use in not
appropriate way will lead us negative
outcome.
