Apple Vertical Integration Essay
I can start with the fact that Apple Inc. is a vertically integrated company. It is a package of every
things from hardware to software, over to online services. It do all this to proof its products that
distinguish market from PCs to smartphones.
In this essay, I will discuss how Apple used vertical integration strategies, both backward integration
and forward integration to planning its competitive position within its industry.
First of all, vertical integration is when the company need to develop its business and expand it to
areas that are in different points on the same production channel like when a company owns its
supplier or distributer in order to get more control in a particular sector, as well as to increase
profits through greater ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can say Apple vertically integrated because its four companies in one, so all key parts of the
supply chain under its controlling. It s a hardware company because its designs its own
hardware, its software company because its own and developed its software such as iOS
operating system, Apple is a service company because it prepare its products like the iTunes an
iCloud also Apple as a retail company it retails of its apps online through Apple Store. This is
unlike Samsung used Google s Android operating system in its cell phones.
Apple followed this approach, therefore all profit go to Apple and increase its income but also
there are disadvantages to this strategy when a company fails to keep their finances they are only
influence itself and that lead to loss more money.
Apple has followed both backward and forward integration for many reasons. To control its
manufacturing process of its hardware, to know its customers and to control innovation supply
chain. A backward integration target is to develop the inputs and that way give more control on
Apple s supply chain. Apple followed forward integration to increase its market share by changing
the method that following in distribution. For many reasons Apple decide to have own retail stores,
to increase its customers benefits and develop its

Jean Anock
You are not Forgotten
There are around 550,000 people living in Johnson County Kansas (United states Census Bureau).
Most everybody has a faucet they can get to whenever they want. Most people have a pantry they
can get into everyday if they want to. Most people can go into a dresser or a clauset and pick out
any clothes that they want to wear for the day. Many people here do not realize how lucky and
good they have it. If somebody s phone cracks, or their girlfriend/boyfriend breaks up with them,
they think it is the end of the world. But I would rather have my phone crack or not get invited to
that sick party than have to walk miles a day for water or have to scrap everything you have to
build a school. This is what life is like for the ten million people living in Haiti, Africa. This is what
life was like for Jean Anock every day. Jean Anock was an 11 year old boy in 2010, he had little to
start but by the end of January 12, he was going to have nothing. On a mid January day young

All of that money goes into helping the children in Haiti and building new buildings. Everyone in
need is usually picked up and helped by Hope for Haiti s Children. This charity has been very
helpful, it has saved thousands of lives since it started in 1995 and it has made broken forgotten
kids into strong confident leaders. When people hear about this charity I think they start to feel
grateful and lucky that they have a fridge or a faucet at home. The overall charity is a 95 out of
100 or a four star rating they rank higher than a score of 90 in overall grade, financial grade and in
accountability and transparency. They receive these great scores because they really do help a lot
of people. A good hearted NFL player has his input about the charity, Marcell Dareus (NFL

Democracy And Violent Civil Conflict
Democracy and violent civil conflict
Democracy is believed to have a pacifying power. With electoral processes, the rule of law and
freedom from state oppression it makes sense that the populations has enough avenues to express
grievances without resorting to full scale civil violence. Democracy beyond mutual democratic
pacifism would thus have an impact on internal civil relations positively but this is not the case.
There have been an increased number of cases of civil and ethnic violence in government systems
that we might consider to be in stages of democratization. Evidence would seem to suggest that
there are greater levels of violent civil conflict in these sort of regimes as opposed to full blown
dictatorships or democracies. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hypothesis.
There are two major hypothesis in this paper
i.Pseudo democracies have greater levels of civil violence than do democracies ii. Pseudo
democracies have greater levels of civil violence than autocracies.
Theory
I argue that this could be as a result of a number of reasons, while an autocratic government might
be able to use force to keep the population under tight control, a weak democracy with its relative
political and civil freedoms is likely to bring strife as soon as institutions are not functional and
transparent enough. Ethnic groups, religious groups or party faithful soon take to violence when
the institutions in place is not trusted either due to incapacity or lack of transparency and since the
citizens now have a voice and might not be exposed to the dangers of brutal crackdowns they soon
are exposed to strife that soon become violent. This might be due to introduction of unpopular or
controversial laws, dissatisfaction with government performance or suspicion of government s
actions. Competitive elections presents a whole new avenue for disagreement and where the
representatives are disconnected from the electorate, they turn to violent conflict as a route to voice
grievances with less fear of extreme crackdown by the government. The problem is that most often
what would start as a peaceful demonstration explodes into an all out riot with

Full Metal Jacket Stereotypes
The most innocent individual has the ability to flip their morality code to fit a role they could
be given. Someone suddenly reflecting a role given to them is referred to as the Lucifer Effect.
(Myers 2014, p. 461) In the film, Full Metal Jacket, Sergent Hartman played his role as the drill
instructor both intensely and aggressively.(Kubrick) Hartman perfectly reflected the stereotype of
both verbally and physically abusive drill instructors as he used his role as the instructor to
frequently undermine and harass the new cadets. Hartman s goal as a drill instructor was to have
all of the cadets to conform into the ideal type of soldier for war, even if that meant possibly
shattering their beliefs and mind. Both Joker and Gomer Pyle suffered

Wolfgang Bangsalot Research Paper
Wolfgang Bangsalot
was born on November 17, 1975 in his father s manor in South Africa. The only
legitimate, non halfbreed child, Wolfgang was brought up by his father to take over the
manor come his death, and as a result lived an isolated life on the family plantation being
privately tutored to live up to his father s image of him. A veteran of the Angolan Bush
War, Mr. Bangsalot was well aquainted with the ongoing Angolan Civil War and secretly
prepared his son for service in the SADF Special Reconnaissance (Recces). In 1990, the
Angola Bush War ended, and the apartheid regime in South Africa was becoming visibly

Personal Experience 2:35 a.m. Even though it was something that I had experienced before, the
pain still took me my surprise. And it was only the beginning. I had finally fallen asleep around
midnight. My parents had come down to Indiana for a weekend visit and we had stayed up a
little late enjoying our visit with each other after the boys had gone to bed. There were two
bedrooms in my little apartment and I had given them the use of mine, deciding to sleep with my
two children in the other room. Being two weeks overdue with my third child and still working
full time as a waitress, I practically passed out when my head finally touched the pillow. That is,

The Evolution Of Female Identity
The Evolution of Female Identity
Characterization through stereotyping female identity creates weak characters bound by gender
expectations. The evolution of dimensional working girl protagonists develops an unconventional
female identity, which breaks the common tropes of a woman s role in literature and society.
Independent female archetypes often adopt masculine qualities to achieve status, earnest
acceptance and independence in a man s world. The heroine, Nancy Drew, promotes the corrosion
of traditional female identity, inheriting male identified traits to express success and strength. In the
first chapter of Carolyn Keene s mystery novel, The Message in the Hollow Oak, the archetype of a
strong female character equates success from transcending into male identified personality,
reverting from tradition femininity and adopting male qualifies to express strong independent
characteristics. Through the narrative exposition and indirect integration of character development
through dialogue and inner monologue, female characters within the novel display strength by
identifying with masculine strength. Female identity is contrasted through the characterization of
George and Bess, identifying two representations of femininity as one that conforms to the norms of
gender within society, and one who equates boyish physical appearance with strength and success.
In the novel, character development is displayed through narrative exposition and dialogue. Female
characters within

Woodworker Qualities
Education may be helpful but, most woodworkers are trained primarily on the job learning from
experienced workers. With their on the job training they are given basic tasks, like placing a
piece of wood into the machine and stacking the finished product at the end of their process.
Throughout the training process as the worker gains experience they begin to perform more
defined tasks as of basic machine operations and job tasks with minimal supervision. To become
a truly skilled woodworker it would take several months to even years before that happens. To
have skilled worker abilities one would be able to set up machines, read blueprints, and be able to
plan work orders. Important qualities of a woodworker would be: Detailed Oriented: Must

Arkansas Rhetorical Analysis
The Confederacy gained support after shots rang at Ft. Sumter on xxx 1861. Before that event,
Arkansas preferred to remain neutral and hoped for a peaceful outcome to the divided country.
President Lincoln s decision to issue a call for troops signified an attempt to use violence to
preserve the union, and triggered a vote that would change Arkansas forever. The elected leaders of
Arkansas by a margin of 69 to 1 passed a disunion ordinance and chose to stand with the
Confederate States to oppose Northern aggression, unfortunately there loyalty went
underappreciated as Arkansas geographical and political significance went overlooked by
confederate leaders and their war strategy. This strategic error resulted in limited government

Hindman assumed command of the Trans Mississippi District, an area that stretched Missouri to
Louisiana. Charged with the organization of troops to defend the states of Texas, Missouri,
Arkansas, Louisiana, and the Indian Territory, he had the appropriate authority but very few
resources. With limited forces, he imposed martial law throughout Arkansas in order to seize
munitions, gather supplies, and enforce the Conscription Act. He initiated the rationing of
goods and ordered the forming of independent Guerilla bands. Groups known as the Bands of
Tens formed from his issuance of General Orders Number 17, which called for all citizens to
assemble in groups of ten and elect a captain. The group s sole mission was to annoy and harass
the union army whenever and wherever possible, just as Hindman envisioned the Spanish doing
to Napoleon s Army. The strategic objective of this action was to slow down the Union armies
long enough to rebuild a conventional force. His efforts were relatively successful as he was
able to amass 18000 regular forces and over 5000 irregular troops. Even with limited resources, a
leader with vision and an understanding of military theory can develop a strategy, which if given
some assistance can prove to be extremely effective. His newly formed army showed promise
against Curtis s Army of the Southwest in June

The Stranger Response
The Stranger The Eye is the window to ones soul. The significance of the eye is that it can display
emotions without spoken words. Humans cannot control the inner actions of their eyes because the
eyes are apart of the body that moves unintentionally. I chose to draw an abstract art of the eye to
help the reader visualize and understand Meursault s emotions throughout the story. I also chose to
use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the 1940s. During this time
period, abstract art consisted of multiple different colors and it stood as a method of expression for
those who wanted to display their feelings. I also incorporated the usage of numerous lines in my
art to represent the main character emotions. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The puzzles in the back represent the visual analysis that the author wants the readers to develop
about Meursault s life. My reasoning behind this is because his life was portrayed as a puzzle
and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did.
There were specific colors used to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his
nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was
coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what
he came to value after sometime particularly after he was done talking to the chairman. The color
yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when
he went to the beach. The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly
killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. Orange and blue were utilized to
represent the sky and the sun that throughout the story we see Meursault talked about often.
Overall, the book cover image was created to exhibit and incorporate all the small details of
Meursault s life as described throughout the book for the reader to be able to visualize and

Free Bangladesh From The Exploitation Of Pakistan Essay
To free Bangladesh from the exploitation of Pakistan, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President of the
Awami League declared Six Point Formula on 13th February, 1966 when he failed to declare in
the conference of opposition held in Lahore. The six clauses were the reflector of independence
of the Bangladeshi people. Freedom of habitation, eating, clothing all these basic needs were
assured to be provided by the clauses. So people of East Pakistan supported this from their heart.
The six clauses were: Clause 01: Constitutional Structure and Nature of State: According to
Lahore Proposal , it was estimated that Pakistan Constitution would be redefined and a real
federal system must be introduced. The federal government would be parliamentary system. The
members of the parliament would be decided by the votes of voters at both central and provisional

Percentile ranks acquired prior to January 2017 were based on the performance of the normative
group, which consisted of participants taking the MAT for the first time from January 1st, 2008
through December 31st, 2011(Meagher, Ybarra, etc., 2017).
It does not cost anything to administer the test because someone cannot choose to administer the
test individually, the MAT is only administered at certain Controlled Testing Centers (CTC).
Controlled Testing Centers are usually colleges and universities that are testing students that are
trying to get into graduate school. The fee to take the exam varies from CTC to CTC but it
averages to around $75. Other fees include alternative testing site which is $149, the replacement
score report fee is $25 per report, additional transcript fee $25 per transcript, and the score
verification fee is $35 (Fees and Optional Services, 2017).
The MAT has pronounced availability to take the test. The MAT does not have any fixed national
test dates. Every CTC decides when and how often it administers the test. Participants plan directly
with the CTC on when it is most convenient for them to take the test. The CTCs are set up so that
the colleges and universities can test their own students. All tests administers are provided with a
manual of directions to guarantee adherence to the standardized administration procedures

Motorola and Smartphones Essay
Motorola has finally made its way back into the market and this time with a bang. After the
successful launch of there budget smartphone Moto G in devloping markets, Motorola recently
came up with Moto X.
And that raised many eyebrows in blogosphere.
Does the Moto X have that in it to play the role of star performer?, a market which is powerfully
ruled by Samsung and now Sony. Lets find out!
OVERVIEW
The Moto X is indeed the best bet Motorola can ever make. With its massive evolution on design
strategies and understanding the importance of the form factor, Motorola proved that they are
ready to give the people what they really want. The Moto X is built on a stock android (Google

Moto X has only single sim slot also another thing to make a note of is it does not have a
removable back panel also no micro SD expandability.
.
DISPLAY, MULTIMEDIA AND PERFORMANCE
Well at the end of the day Performance is what matters .
The Moto X comes with a 4.7 inch AMOLED display, which has a great outdoor visibility and
takes brightness to all new level. The display has excellent viewing angles and a contrast output.
But as it is Amoled display we do get that bluish tint.
The X can handle whatever type of media you throw at it, even after considering that it ranks low
spec sheet. You can playback full HD 1080p videos without even a single lag or stutter. The
speakerphone is not best in class but still it is fairly loud, and you won t require additional
speakers. The 3.5 mm jack has refined output.
The Moto X is designed to breathe Android, and device dies exactly that. No doubt when it
comes to hardware Moto X is unfortunately limited to only a dual core processor, an average user
won t feel the need of this. However if you are super user and stay glued to your smartphone 24*7
then Moto X is not a handset you may be looking for.

market in Japanese and American market (Sheff, 1993), which was the overall best selling system

development of the firm. Nintendo took the advantage of strong path dependence of the market by

increasing returns in the production or adoption of technologies and products, and positive

THE FIFTH GENERATION
Sega, a game console company at that time released Dreamcast in 2000 but afterwards quit the

Ethics Is A System Of Moral Principles And It Affects How...
Ethics is a system of moral principles and it affects how people make decisions and lead their life
(bbc.co.uk/ethics/introduction/intro_1.shtml) and there are different branches of ethics which are
Meta ethics the study of language;
Normative ethics is the study of moral standard that we live our lives by and;
Applied ethics is the application of ethical theories to access whether something is ethical. Restraint
is a measure of protecting someone or something out of danger (oxforddictionaries.com/definition
/English/restraint). Mental illness refers to different kind of mental health conditions or disorders
that my affect your mood, thinking and behaviour (Mental illness Mayo Clinic).
There are two ethical theories used in the material that are Situation Ethics and utilitarianism.
Situation Ethics is a theory that was found by Joseph Fletcher in the 1960s. Fletcher argued that
every individual is different and therefore absolute rules are too restrictive. Situation Ethics argues
that ethics is based on one principal which is acting with love. For you to be ethical it says you
need to act with love towards one another, no matter of what they have done to you. Fletcher also
emphasis that legalism is the insistence that predetermine laws are to be put into action when they
are relevant to the situation at hand. He also states that there is no act or law, not even love that can
determine whether an action is right or wrong. When he set up his version of Situation Ethics,

The Revolutionary Pitching Velocity Training Strap
SELLING A NOVEL SPORTS PRODUCT IDEA Introducing the Revolutionary Pitching
Velocity Training Strap! As all baseball fans know, a recent episode of the HBO series Real
Sports featured Seattle Mariners pitcher Steve Delabar whose professional baseball career was
unexpectedly revived by a revolutionary new pitching training technique he had experimented
with only for the purpose and in the context of his high school baseball coaching duties, long after
he had resigned himself to the fact that his major league pitching career had been ended
prematurely by a major elbow injury caused by the physiological stress of pitching. This was the
inspiration for my new sports product invention: the revolutionary Pitching Velocity Training Strap.
The program that saved Delabar s career is the technique developed by youth baseball coach Tom
House that has already produced remarkable results with almost 1,000 school age ball players.
Briefly, the innovator realized that one of the main reason that pitching a baseball is so stressful is
that the pitching motion develops only the anterior (front) of the shoulder muscles and not the
posterior (back) shoulder muscles. The new training technique was inspired by the similarities
between the baseball pitching motion and the tennis serving motion. Unlike baseball pitchers,
however, tennis players rarely suffer shoulder injuries. This is because tennis players hold on to
their racquets at the follow through whereas baseball pitchers release

Rational Choice Theory, Social Process Theory And...
Criminology is a developing field of science that the justice system and its workers use to classify
and explain crime and criminals. Within the field, there are people that are extending theories that
have been around for some time. If they are not continuing work on an existing theory, they are
developing a new one. Our class discussed five main theories. The theories we discussed in class
are Rational Choice Theory, Trait Theory, Social Structure Theory, Social Process Theory, and
Developmental Theory. Rational Choice Theory says that a person chooses to commit the crime
based on if the reward outweighs the risk, regardless of the crime. Within this theory, there are
four sub theories, General Deterrence, Specific Deterrence, Rational Choice, and Incarceration.
Each of these theories includes the general characteristics of Rational Choice Theory and apply to
either offender specific or offense specific crimes as evaluating the risk of crime. Offender specific

Offense specific crimes are crimes where the offender reacts selectively to the characteristics of a
particular criminal act(Siegel, 2011). The first of the four sub theories, General Deterrence, focuses
on the fear of punishment. The best way to enforce this is to ensure the certainty, severity, and
swiftness of the punishment. Next, the second sub theory is specific deterrence. Specific deterrence
is the view that criminal sanctions should be so powerful that offenders will never repeat their
criminal acts. Furthermore, the third sub theory is more of an extension of the second sub theory.
Incapacitation says the keeping an offender behind bars in the years they would be more likely to
commit the crime prevents them from committing crime and lowers the crime

day. Athlete s foot, which is also known as jock s itch, is a very common infection in the foot
caused by a fungus called trichophyton ( What is athlete s foot?...) Trichophyton particularly likes
tight, moist places where it can grow and eventually form athlete s foot. This fungal infection is
present when the victim can feel itchy, dry and red spots on their foot; it is generally found
between the toes, and around the heel when present. Athlete s foot is caused many easy ways, but
it is also very easy to avoid. One really common cause of athlete s foot is a wet and hot condition,
such as sweaty sneakers after a long workout. Athlete s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From playing soccer to walking around barefoot so many times, I have been a victim of athlete s
foot. To treat my athlete s foot, I used a non prescripted medication that I sprayed on at night
before bed, and I also used a foot powder during the day; I put the powder also in my soccer
cleats, and in my everyday shoes and socks. Eventually, after using the two antifungal
medications, my athlete s foot went away. I knew I had athlete s foot, because my feet stung
each time I got them wet, they were constantly dry and itching, and the contaminated area was
always red. My personal athlete s foot was mainly caused because when I was younger, I didn t
dry my feet correctly, I didn t wash my soccer socks after each time I wore them, I didn t wear
shoes outside in my backyard, I also didn t wear shoes at swimming pools/ swimming locker
rooms. Now, since I have been a host of trichophyton, I am doing as many things possible that I
can to avoid it. I am wearing shoes outside and at public swimming pools, I wash my socks after
every use, I do not share shoes with infected people, or anyone, and I wear shoes at the
appropriate times outside and inside. I also have a genetic mutation for athlete s foot. My father
has gotten athlete s foot many times before; he treated it the same way I did. Because I am an
athlete and have the genetic mutation, I am highly at risk to get athlete s foot

Examining The Life Of Sylvia Plath As Seen Within
Examining the Life of Sylvia Plath as Seen Within Lady Lazarus Sylvia Plath s poem, Lady
Lazarus , was greatly about the author s life: the influence by her suicide attempts, years of
troubled mental health, and stressed relationships with her father and husband. The opening lines
of Lady Lazarus read I have done it again. / One year in every ten (Plath 1 2). These two lines
immediately reference Plath s suicide attempts, her first of three being in 1953 when she was just a
university student, where she took a bottle of sleeping pills, water, and a blanket down to her cellar
and proceeded to down sleeping pills until she became unconscious (Steinberg). Throughout Plath s

/ This is Number Three (21 22) referring to her first two suicide attempts, the poem being written
only four months before her third and final suicide attempt (Herrman). However, strangely
enough, it is debated as to whether her suicide attempts were supposed to be just that, attempts,
and not with the final goal of ending her life. It is argued that Plath intended to be found, even
leaving a note for her neighbor, whom she knew would be home, listing her doctor s contact
information, and hiring a nanny to look after the children, further exemplifying her strange
relationship with death (Steinberg). However, the gas from the stove, which she used to kill
herself, also seeped through the floor, knocking out her neighbor below (Steinberg). This factor
of her suicide attempt was not planned for, and may have been what ultimately resulted in her
death. Though theatrical, it is worth noting that the women on her father s side had a history of
mental health issues (Herrman). Plath herself even calls out the theatrics: [i]t s the theatrical /

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Beowulf
The strengths of heroes in epic poems has been written on a countless amount of times. Why?
Because the heroes strengths are plainly displayed in the literature and the weaknesses are not.
However, the weaknesses can be found where the heroes turn to for strength. In the Epic of
Beowulf, the journey begins with the terrorization of the Mead Hall by an awful monster named
Grendel. Beowulfcomes in and saves the day by killing Grendel and he receives riches and fame
for doing so. Then, stricken with grief, Grendel s mother comes to the mead hall to avenge the
death of her son. Beowulf goes and fights Grendel s mother in her home in the swamp and
manages to kill her with a sword forged by giants. After this battle, he is more beloved than the
one before and is endlessness praised and rewarded. Then, fifty years later, Beowulf is the king
of Geat and a thief angers the dragon. Beowulf then decides to kill the dragon himself. He
manages to kill the dragon with the help of a Geat named Wiglaf, but loses his life in the process.
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, our hero has a rough beginning with actions that resemble a villain more
than a hero. Then the God s create Enkiduto tame Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh and Enkidu become best
friends after their first tumultuous meeting and go on many adventures together. After one
adventure, Gilgamesh and Enkidu return and Gilgamesh is propositioned by the goddess of love
who he refuses. Then she is angered and demands her father send the bull of heaven

Indigenous People And The Media
Indigenous Studies is a very interesting unit as I am able to learn and discover more in depth
about Indigenous People. However, the lecture that got me into deep thoughts was on Indigenous
People and the Media. I kept asking myself; why do we view people that way? Why is it we
change impressions when it s a different race to ours? Now thinking back, I ve come to realise that
media has a big influence to our everyday lives. Indigenous Australiansin media are not highly
recognised for positive news. The way the media interprets sources of information about the
Indigenous Peopleshas change the views on what we think of them. Now this has become a huge
effect on the Indigenous Peoples as it lead to stereotyping, racism and discrimination.... Show more

Mainstream media tends to focus on the negative side about Indigenous Peoples like the
problems and the relationship between the Indigenous Peoples and the public (McCallum,
Waller, 2013). Educational systems are the same, as the students learn more on the negative
history of the Indigenous Peoples instead of the contemporary arts and performances of
Aboriginal history. This leads to the view of many Indigenous children feeling outcast as people
stereotype on their race when they don t (Salote Bovoro, 2008, citied in Korff, 2016). We cannot
deny that everyone stereotypes, including myself but I have become more aware that I should
think before I do or say something. I was taught in previous years that I should ask myself, what if
someone said that to you, how would you feel? That s the same with Indigenous Peoples, they don
t want to be treated that way because yes, everyone is different, but we don t need to point it out
and criticise about it.
RACISM/DISCRIMINATION
As the unit is about Indigenous Peoples, people thinks that this is the most sensitive topic as
people tend to think before they say something, unlike how they describe people who are the

Overview of Labor Relations
LABOR RELATIONS 2
Labor Relations
Introduction
Labor relations are concerned with the learning and management practices of unionized situations
of employment. However, in the circles of academia, labor relations get classified as a subarea of
industrial relations, even though researchers from numerous disciplines also study labor
movements and labor unions. Nevertheless, in practice, labor relations get classified as a subarea in
the management of human resource. Therefore, the courses in labor relations characteristically look
into the history of labor, labor regulation, and organization of union, bargaining, administration of
contract, as well as, any contemporary topics that are significant. In the U.S., the labor relations of
the private sector get regulated through the Act of the National Labor Relations. On the other hand,
the labor relations of the public sector gets regulated through the Act of the Civil Service Reform
that was introduced in the year 1978, along with the appliance of a series of state pieces of
legislation (Fossum, 2012). A look into other countries, the labor relations, could be standardized
through tradition or law. The association of Labor and Employment Relations is a significant
professional organization for the labor relations intellectuals, as well as, practitioners in the U.S.
The employment, economy, as well as, management of rights are some of the topics for thought
when the discussion involves the manner in which labor unions bring

Gram Positive Bacteria
The first unknown test tube P found to be a gram positive bacteria. The biochemical that I

enzyme in the test isolated detected using hydrogen peroxide. Bacteria possess catalase with a
small number of bacteria; isolation is added to hydrogen peroxide when bubbles occur. When the
bubbles occurred on gram positive bacterium it was a conformation of being positive. Also, blood
agar plates is useful for cultivating fastidious organisms and for determining the hemolytic

diplococcus pneumonia due to its propensity to exist in pairs of cells, but in 1974 it was renamed
Streptococcus pneumoniae due to its formation of chains in liquid. It also played a key role in
history molecular genetics. It has shown the significant increase in antibiotic resistance because it
is due to its use of natural transformation system used for genetic exchange and can develop

ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study is to formulate a dual therapy of peptic ulcer containing antimicrobial
agent amoxicillin and anti secretory agent pantoprazole, utilizing the concept of bi layer tablet
system for the effective treatment of H. pylori associated gastric/duodenal ulcer, in an attempt to
improve bioavailability and to get maximum therapeutic benefits and patient compliance about
the treatment. Different formulas of 575 mg amoxicillin were prepared as sustained release
layer by wet granulation method and different formulas of 40 mg pantoprazole in form of
immeadeaye release was prepared as extended release matrix layer by direct compression
technique. The results showed that formulas prepared with Hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose
(HPMC K100M) and xanthan gum and acasia as binder was capable to retard the release of
Amoxicillin and Pantoprazole for 12 hr and 8hr respectably which according to dosing
frequency of amoxicillin in treatment of peptic ulcer (twice daily) it will prevent drug free
interval so achieve complete eradication of H. pylori, thus it was selected for preparation of bi layer
tablet. Regarding Pantoprazole, formula PS 6 (which consist of HPMC K 15 M,

Chronic Gastritis
Gastritis is a disease of the stomach. This disease is caused by the damage of the lining of the
stomach due to inflammation, irritation or erosion. Gastritis may develop suddenly while in some
cases it may develop gradually. There are three different types of gastritis: chronic gastritis, acute
gastritis and atrophic gastritis. Some patients suffering from chronic gastritis may develop gastric
cancer due to having gastritis complications for such a long time. Acute gastritis causes symptoms
that are not long term but are influenced by a person s lifestyle. Atrophic gastritis is a chronic

Geography And The World Of Geography
Before starting this course, I had a preconceived notion that I would learn about geographical
features and memorize places all around the world. I did not expect to learn about topics such as
globalization, political geography, or industries and services. I was surprised at what all we learned
in such a short period of time. I gained a new prospective and information about the world around
me. Throughout the semester, my understanding and knowledge about geographyhas drastically
changed from before this course. This course has made me think about topics and things that I
have never reflected upon. I have had this standard premonition of geography as just places or
maps, but there is so much more. I enjoyed learning about the different races, history of gender
equality, and religions of the world the most. Geography has influenced my political, social, and
economic views of the world. One of the topics in this course, geographies of languages, was one
that interested me in learning more. One of the reasons that it interested me was because I am a
Spanish major and I love learning new languages and cultures of the world. Languages are one of
the most complex, yet interesting social aspects of life. Without languages, we would have no way
to communicate, therefore we would not be a social society whatsoever. There were multiple facts

Essay on Current State of the Republican Party
It was a commonly held belief among the Republican party that Mitt Romney was almost a
guaranteed win in the 2012 presidential election. This view wasn t necessarily because Romney
followed Republican policy to a T but rather because of Obama s disastrous job with the
economy in the previous four years. History was well in the minds of most Republicans in that
particular matter since no president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt had ever won a presidency
after the economy had gone as low as it did and was in a serious struggle to rebound. With this
piece of history in the minds of most Republicans the assumptions was history would continue to

The first such way is in social issues. The traditionally narrow minded view on most social issues
has almost all but gone away and the open mindedness of the american people is more apparent.
One of these issues is gay marriage and the acceptance it has been met by. We see this with
certain states that have already legalized it and in more and more states contemplating proposing
gay marriage and placing it on the ballot. According to a ABC News poll, conservative support
for gay marriage has gone from 10 percent support in 2004 to 19 percent in 2006 and 30 percent
currently (Abramowitz). Another important issue is abortions and the womens right to choose.
This has always been an issues of friction in america but abortion has become more open and a
more commonly used option among women. For women who do not necessarily agree with the
practice of abortion they still share the idea that women should have the right to choose and
make decisions that are inherently theirs because it is their body. Womens rights have always
been a debated subject in american and it has only expanded over the years. Telling women they
have no say in their body and their future in the way of having children is taking a drastic step
backwards from the forward moving expansion of rights. Republicans failed to budge on their
view on womens right to choose while the Democrats made it clear they supported the right to
choose. According to exit polls 53 percent of the voters in the 2012 elections were

The Success Of Steve Jobs
Over the course of 7 years, over 500 million iPhones have been sold worldwide. 122 million Macs
have been sold throughout 28 years, and up until September 2012, 350 million iPods have been
sold. The numbers are immense and still growing, and there are reasons that explain them. To
sustain a company, one that has sold well over 1 billion self produced units (and counting) (up until
today), for about 21 years total, takes much prudence, determination, and most importantly,
leadership. Steve Jobs, co founder of Apple, Inc., had all three of those traits, and they were
always used for the better in his company. Jobs got the company back up on its feet after rough
stock market shares and low sales caused by competing companies, and led it to success with
increasingly innovative products that rapidly sold nationally at first, then soon internationally. The
new ideas that computers such as the Macintosh put forward into the computer world has set the
standard for computers up until the current day. Steve Jobs innovation and leadership led the
company of Apple to create renowned and life changing products that essentially made the lives of
their users easier and changed the world of technology forever.
Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco and was adopted by Paul and Clara

Love And Love In Valentine By Carol Ann Duffy
Throughout the history, it has been evident that relationships are a vital part of human life.
Particularly, our desire for love and the influence this has on our lives has constantly been the
subject of literature. Whilst relationships have remained the same; our views on relationships have
changed massively. In the poem Valentine , Carol Ann Duffy talks about the unorthodox love
when
she compares love to an onion. The use of strong imagery, powerful diction, distinct form and
structure and various poetic devices (such as extended metaphors), enables the poet to present her
unique perspective of love contrasting to the stereotypical way love is often thought about.
Moreover, Duffy has used a range of verbs to highlight the apparent difference... Show more content

This direct address by Duffy for her readers makes her appear bold and confident. Similar to the
third stanza, the connotations of the onion are used throughout this stanza without mentioning
the onion. At this point, Duffy has progressed the relationship to the degree of marriage. She
highlights ironic similarities when she writes about how it platinum loops shrink to a wedding
ring , which makes little sense as platinum is a very expensive metal while the onion is not
precious or desirable at all. The verb shrink may symbolise some sort of entrapment. If you like
is almost like asking the recipient for his/her will and perhaps suggesting that the relationship
could go in this direction but it is not necessary for the things that will inevitably follow. As the
end of the poem progresses, Duddy begins to suggest that failed relationships can be difficult to
overcome. She goes as far as to state that love may be lethal which implies that the loss of a lover
can cause some part of a person to die or perhaps more sinisterly that it may result in suicide. This
also puts emphasis on danger and commitment in love and may refer to the increasing danger of
getting more deeply committed to a relationship. Therefore, the more one is committed, the harder
(or more lethal ) the fall is, when it ends. The scent of the onion is a symbol of the thoughts and
emotions

Energy Is The Most Outstanding Ingredient For Socio...
Energy is the most outstanding ingredient for socio economic growth world wide. It exists in
various forms like mechanical, chemical, electrical, heat, light etc. There is minimum amount of
energy required for life sustainability. Most especially from the food we eat but fuel energy is
needed in cooking and in some climate, for heating houses. Research has shown that in 2008 for
instance, the world wide consumption rate of energywas estimated at 500 exajoules per year (EJ)
/y. The importance of an energy system is to secure energy service in the industrial, transport,
house hold and service sectors of the economy. Energy, invariably is the fulcrum of growth of
national economies. Fossil fuels are carriers of hydrocarbon substances. They include coal, crude
oil, and natural gas. Its consumption depletes at any rate. Typically, the looming energy crisis is
sequel to consuming these fossil fuels at a rate that is practically unsustainable. Besides, when
consumed, fossil fuels upset the natural balance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, giving rise to
various environmental tipping point. Effects of this carbon dioxide natural imbalance has its long
term contribution to global warming and green house effect. Conversely, renewable energy
systems are resources available on cyclic basis and include solar, hydro, wind, tidal, wave,

that she needed to go upstairs and lie down; he had seemed distracted and had waved her away.
Images of Jace s face kept flashing behind her eyelids every time she shut her eyes the way he
had looked at her, betrayed, as if he didn t know her anymore. But there was no point dwelling on
that. She could sit on the edge of the bed and cry in her hands, thinking about what she had done,

Paternal Leave Model
Paternal Leave
Another portion of the family model that is changing for fathers is the aspect of paternal leave.
In Canada, the amount of paternal leave offered for families is 35 weeks and originally had to be
split between the two parents. The Global News reported that the 2018 federal government budget
included a five week, use it or lose it incentive for new dads to take parental leave with the
statement that this will help families balance or reconcile work and family responsibilities
(Blatchford, 2018). Marshall (2008) explored the traditional use of the parental leave; initially
revealing it as primarily allocated to the mothers. Marshall noted that assuming parental leave is
primarily a mother s benefit makes it difficult for fathers to take leave as it fuels conflicts in the
workplace culture and societal expectations about the appropriate behaviour for men (Marshall,
2008). However, evidence from Statistics Canada indicated the proportion of fathers receiving paid

Using Classical And Operant Conditioning
7. Using classical or operant conditioning, describe step by step how you can teach someone a
skill in your field. What is the behavior you want them to learn, if classical conditioning is used,
what is the US, UR, NS, CS and CR. If using operant conditioning, what is the behavior you want
to increase or decrease and what is the reinforcer that is used to increase or decrease that behavior.
(ex., if you are in business and you want to increase productivity, what would you do?). How does
their biology, motivation, cognitions and emotions influence their acquisition of the skill?
Operant conditioning could be used to increase students performance on their tests. One thing that
could be done to reinforce this behavior would be to reward the whole class for increased
performance on their tests with a pizza party. I would just say that if the whole class has an
average of 90% on the test, then they will get a pizza party. They would be more likely to study
and therefore do better on the test because they want the pizza. The students will have to have a
drive to want to get better grade and then the reward of that also. Their emotions have to be
determined to do better, if they are to get the reward that they seek.

to implement them.

There are many different types of flu, categorized most broadly by influenza A, B, and C strains.
They are further classified by genetic differences represented by H and N. Seasonal flus are
either type A or B and classified by H3N2, swine flu (a flu strain you may remember by the
media stir it caused in 2009) is type A and H1N1, and avian flu is type A and H5N1. Type A flu
strains are considered to be the most severe and are usually the only type of influenza that can
cause a pandemic. On paper the avian flu may seem like the flu strains that we experience every
year, but H5N1 is certainly unique. The first reason for this is that research has suggested that for
currently idiopathic reasons the avian flu seems to have a predisposition to mutation, enabling it to
rapidly create new strains that may be more dangerous, more contagious, or even resistant to
antibiotics (which has already been observed in at least one case of an infected Vietnamese
teenager). The reason avian flu has not yet caused any major outbreaks is because right now the
virus is unable to be transmitted from human to human, only from bird to bird or bird to human.
With such a high tendency to mutate, it is only a matter of time before the avian flu mutates into a
strain that can be transmitted between

Juror Eight In Twelve Angry Men By Reginald Rose
Picture a room with a large table in the center. There is a door, but it is locked. Filling up all the
twelve seats around the table, there are twelve men: jurors debating the murder of a man living
near the el tracks. The man s son is his alleged killer, but one juror is not convinced. This image
is from Twelve Angry Men, a play written by Reginald Rose. The Eighth Juror is being fair to
the child, explaining how there are many what if s in the situation. Juror Eight brings up many
different pieces of evidence and logic to try to understand both sides of the case. He also wants
the other jurors to see each side because he wants a fair trial. So, Juror Eight plays a very important
part in this play. Juror Eight began the story by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of getting angry at the Sixth Juror immediately and saying hurtful things back, he
continued with his argument politely. In summary, Juror Eight reveals many traits and
characteristics of himself and these characteristics and his actions impact the story greatly. When
the Eighth Juror tried to open the discussion and give the boy a fair trial, he created the whole
story. The entire play would not have even occurred if not for the Eighth Juror. At the start, all of
the jurors wanted to go home. Several even talk about how they want to get this over with (Rose
7). So, all jurors were willing to vote as quickly as possible even if it meant that the defendant may
not get the fairest hearing. But, the eighth was not willing to allow this because he wanted a fair
trial. So, without the Eighth Juror, would there even be a story to tell? Most would think not. Juror
Eight says many things that make the rest of the jury think a lot about. For instance, he states, It s
not easy to identify a voice (Rose 32). By bringing up this valid reasoning, he added to the story
and gave the boy a fair chance by questioning whether the story of everybody involved in the case
is definitely true. Furthermore, if the Eighth Juror had not promoted the discussion of this boy s
case, everyone would have voted guilty beyond reasonable doubt. But, there was reasonable doubt

Examples Of Cowardice In The Kite Runner
In the novel The Kite Runner the text explores many different ways the relationships and people
surrounding a person can shape one s self, this is most prevalent in Amir. During Amir s childhood,
he is constantly vying for Baba s attention and affection. Amir s cowardice is seen through many
different examples in the novel, mainly Assef and his violent actions bring forth his cowardice in
many forms. Hassan is Amir s best friend in the beginning of the novel, he is also a role model
to Amir. In the novel, Baba shapes Amir s negative sense of self through his obvious discontent
with his own son, If I hadn t seen the doctor pull him out of my wife with my own eyes, I d never
believe he s my son (Hosseini 23). Amir feels ashamed of himself due to his father s
disappointment, which in turn triggers more feelings of self doubt. Amr believes he must redeem
himself to Baba because of how his mother died. Amir strives to redeem himself in Baba‟s eyes,
primarily because his mother died giving birth to him, and he feels responsible (Saraswat 169).
This inevitably leads to Amir s obsession with pleasing Baba. Through Amir s need to please his
father, he in turn ends up disregarding those around him. This is shown when Amir... Show more

Repression Of Memories In Lila Wingo s The Prince Of Tides
Memory is the faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information. In times of trauma
the mind has been known to do immaculate things, in particular repressing memories. In the
culture of the south is infamous for the repressing of memories, the civil war for example. The
culture as a whole is known for trying to suppress and ignore the things that cause it distress or
simply just want to ignore. In The Prince of Tides the repression of memories plays a crucial part
in the novel. The repression of memories sheds light on the tragic culture of the south and how
family secrets can have damaging effects that repression can do to the psyche of the mind.
Throughout the novel each character reveals a more about the repression of memories in a southern
culture and how it can impact a person
First, Lila is one of the prominent examples of denial and an outside physical force of repression
in the novel. Lila herself from the beginning does not like to remember or would not like to
remember certain things, her actual up bringing being one of them. From Tom s perspective, we
learn about his mother s affliction of re writing the past. In chapter eleven we are made aware of
her lie about her origins. Lila Wingo grew up in the mountains of Georgia with a mean father
who died of cirrhosis of the liver when she was twelve. Her mother worked nights in a textile
factory and died of brown lung when Lila was sixteen. However stated in a previous chapter Lila

Should Evolution Be Taught In Schools Essay
Have you ever wondered if evolution was the one and only way that humans came to be? Well, you
are wrong! There is another side to this continuing argument. The United States Supreme Court
declared that restricting an educator s right to teach the theory of evolution is unconstitutional.
Disclaimers conveying the theory of evolutionof humankind as the only explanation or
development is unconstitutional. I believe that both creationism, and evolution both be taught, if
anything. Let the students voice their own opinions based off their beliefs and evidence they
individually gather.
Creationism should be taught in schools, they do idol critical thinking skills. However, they still

Creationism is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have
developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth. As you can see, they
are two competing theories. But only one seems to be taught in public schools, funny right?
Nobody ever seems to criticize evolution in any course materials or textbooks, it just can t be
stated as a scientific law. The controversy believes that sudden appearances of chaos from nothing
and god can t be enough evidence. However, we can t find transitional fossils between ape and man
to back up evidence for evolution.
In conclusion, you now see where I am coming from. Evolution is no better than the theory of
creation. But if you are going to teach the idea of one thing, at least show the competing theory
and its side. Then you wind up with everyone thinking it is all one sided, and that can make people
upset. So parents, teachers, staff, school boards, if you have a religion or beliefs, don t you want it
to be heard. Maybe even taught if there are other sides to it. I am asking that you all stand up for
what you believe in and make education

The Common Romantic Relationship Relationships
Most of the adults in this world are involved in a romantic relationship or will be eventually. The
most common romantic relationship includes the sexual dating relationship, the domestic
partnership, and the marriage. The adults or partners involved in these relationships inevitably
reach a point of conflict and how they react to the conflict can show whether the partners are a
securely, avoidant, or anxious attached person. The securely attached adults usually have a positive
view when dealing with relationship issues. Whereas, an avoidant attached adults are more hesitant
and distance themselves from their partner. Adults who tend to be more emotional, jealous, and
possessive and demand closeness have an anxious attachment. People should strive for the secure
attachment style for the best satisfaction level, commitment level, and ability to adapt to change in
their romantic relationship, that is what most of the adults have and most want their partner to be
the same. Many theorist noticed that there tended to be a pattern with the attachment styles that
people have as adults to what attachment style they had as children. John Bowlbydesigned the
Attachment Theoryto explain the bond between a child and people serving in the caregiver role
(Feldman, 2011). In 1987, Cindy Hazan and Philip Shaver applied Bowlby s views on attachment to
include the bonds between adults and their romantic partners (Nudson martin, 2012). Hazan and
Shaver viewed attachment in adult romantic

Analysis Of The Corpse Of Brutus Essay
Standing over the corpse of Brutus, Antony begins his terse and final speech with the words
This was the noblest Roman of them all. In order to discover the meaning of this claim, we must
look to the next few lines in which Antony provides support for it. He notes that all the
conspirators save only he / did that they did in envy of great Caesar. This seems, at least
regarding Brutus, to be accurate. We find evidence for this in the beginning of the scene set in
Brutus s orchard. Brutus says regarding Caesar I know no personal cause to spurn at him, / But
for the general. While it is not, as we shall soon find, always advisable to take the claims of this
play s characters at face value, these words are spoken when Brutus is alone and consequently
without reason to dissemble. Brutus thus does not bear any personal envy for Caesar but only
opposes him for the general cause, which is the common welfare of Rome. This aligns very well
with what Antony says next in his final speech, that Brutus only in a general honest thought / And
common good to all made one of [the conspirators]. So far, then, Antony seems to reckon Brutus
the noblest Roman of them all because of his commitment to the general welfare at the expense of
his own, and his speech perhaps expresses a tragically late recognition of Brutus s greatness.
The next three lines of this speech, however, when contrasted with the first line, present a serious
claim about nobility as it applies to the citizen and to

Paradise Lost By John Milton
Paradise Lost by John Milton
Paradise Lost by John Milton
John Milton divided the characters in his epic poem Paradise Lost into two sides, one side
under God representing good, and the other side under Satan representing evil and sin. Milton
first introduced the reader to the character Satan, the representative of all evil, and his allegiance
of fallen angels that aided in his revolt against God (Milton 35). Only later did Milton introduce
the reader to all powerful God, leader and creator of all mankind (John). This introduction of
Satan first led the reader to believe acts of sin were good, just like Eve felt in the Garden of
Eden when she was enticed by Satan to eat the fruit off of the Tree of Knowledge (Milton 255).
The later introduction of The Almighty had the readers change their feelings towards sin, as the
ways of God were introduced to them and these ways were shown to be the way to feel and
believe. This levy of good vs. evil carried on throughout the poem with the interaction of Satan and
his fallen angels with God and his son in Heaven.
The common representation of sin and evil came from the lead character in the battle against God,
Satan. His name means enemy of God. He was a former high angel from Heaven named Lucifer,
meaning, light bearer (John). Satan became jealous in Heaven of God s son and formed an
allegiance of angels to battle against God, only for God to cast them out of Heaven into Hell
(Milton 35). This did not bother Satan at

Analysis Of The Poem The Wife s Lament
What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded: It was
like hearing every goodbye ever said to me said all at once, quoted by Lang Leav. I used this
quote to present a similar description on how the wife feels about her husband. The Wife s
Lament, is one of the most identifiable Anglo Saxon elegies and one of the earliest and unique
illustrations of a poem composed from a womans point of view in British literature. There is no
evidence whether the author is a man or a woman since the author did not present himself or
herself. In the poem, it is obvious that she yearns for her husbanddeeply, but it does not tell you if
he returns her feelings.
The Wife s Lament, is a preview into the tenth century Anglo Saxon England, a point in time when
wine streamed in the rivers, and colossal titans roamed the earth. The poem setting is the wife is
in a stone cave surrounded by water with no one to help her if she is in danger. In the beginning of
the poem she introduces her elegy as a sad tale of her heartache; that never in her life she has gone
through. She tells the reader how her husband s family sent him out to sea and does not know if
he will come back to her. The wife then explains how she is anxious for him, she does not sleep,
or she wakes up in the morning, and only thinks about her husband. The she made the decision to
be banished, which was a norm for women whose husbands had died or left them. She then goes to
his people for

Narcissistic, Antisocial, And Dependent Personality Disorders
Discuss narcissistic, antisocial, and dependent personality disorders.
Someone with narcissistic personality disorder would show an exaggerated sense of self
importance, a preoccupation with being admired, and a lack of empathy for the feelings of others
(Hooley, p.349). Many studies support the fact that narcissism has two sub types: grandiose and
vulnerable narcissism (cain et al.,2008; Ronningstam, 2005, 2012). The grandiose sub type is
manifested by traits related to grandiosity, aggression, and dominance. They usually overestimate
their abilities and accomplishments and underestimate the abilities and accomplishments of others.
They feel entitled, behave in stereotypical ways, and often think they can only be understood by

Anti social personality disorder (ASPD) is described as someone who lacks moral or ethical
development is unable to follow correct methods of behavior, finds ways to be deceitful, has no
qualms in shamelessly manipulating others and tended to have had behavioral problems as a
child. According to the DSM 5 only individuals over 18 can be diagnosed with ASPD and the
symptoms must have been shown prior to 15. ASPD can be confused with psychopathy and
although they have some overlap they are different. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable
behaviors such as lying, getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley,
p.356). With psychopathy, more emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as superficial
charm, lack of empathy, and manipulativeness. It seems that no matter how you look at it ASPD is
affected by genes and the environment. The effects and interactions of ASPD that was once seen as
simply unidirectional family to child is now being understood that the effects can be bi directional
going both ways.
Individuals with dependent personality disorder (DPD) shows an extreme need to be taken care
of, which leads to clinging and submissive behavior (Hooley, p.365). They are scared to be alone
and usually build their lives around other people and subordinate themselves to them. They tend to

Sexual Imagery In Sexual Advertising
The idea of using sexual imagery to boost products sales and company revenue is defiantly not a
new one. Tom Reichert from the University of Alabama wrote in his article A review of Content,
Effects, and Functions of Sexual Information in Consumer Advertising that as early as 1885 W.
Duke Sons placed trading cards in cigarette packs that had sexually provocative ladies on them to
try and boost sales. The company seemed to be successful with the promotion and by 1890 they
were one of the leading brands of cigarettes. Another early example was found in 1910. A women s
beauty bar company; Woodbury s Facial Soap was struggling with sales until they started using
advertisingthat showed couples in a romantic embrace. Reichert notes in contemporary mainstream
consumer advertising (e.g., magazines, network and cable television), sex is present in
promotional messages for a wide range of branded goods (Reichert, 2002 pg. 242).
Reichert then goes on to say
ads feature provocative images of well defined women (and men) in revealing outfits and postures
selling clothing, alcohol, beauty products, and fragrances. Advertisers such as Calvin Klein,
Victoria s Secret, and Pepsi use these images to cultivate a ubiquitous sex tinged media presence
(Reichert,2002 pg. 242).
Reichert explains to his readers that there are six distinct types of sexual advertising content. The
first type is Body Display. This type of advertising content could be described as revealing clothing

Antigone And Creon Analysis
The dramatic play Antigone that Sophocles had formulated, carries out a complex and increasingly
suspenseful plot. Creon, the king of Thebes, establishes a law that deprives Polynices, one of the
two brothers that had died fighting for his rightful seat on the throne, a proper burial due to the
attack of his own city. In response, Polynices sister Antigonedefies this law behind Creons back and
is as a consequence, sentenced to death. Yet, Creon s judgements ultimately lead to his downfall as
he loses all things significant to him in life. Thus, the characters of Antigone and Creon within
Sophoclesplay find themselves in a conflict between their own conceivement of the law, which
mirror the conflict between the divine and state. What Sophocles intends to convey within the
tragic conclusion of both characters is the individuality of law and the correlating misconception
that a wrong or right can be established within its definition.
In constructing the mindsets of Creon and Antigone, whose complexity becomes a backbone to the
intricacy of the play as a whole, Sophocles utilizes both their actions and the dialogue of the
mediators to reveal the treatment and perception of their own preconceived laws. According to
Sam Meisner from the fishbowl discussion, Antigone s sister and Creon s son Haemon acted as the
voices of reason within the plot as both worked to reveal the hidden faults of the favored laws, thus
dubbing them the mediators between the two extremes of the

Colonization And Colonization Of Indonesia
In Junior high, the history teacher taught us that my native country, Indonesia was colonized by
the Dutch for 350 years. The Netherlands is one of the European countries that established its
country over Indonesia to take benefits of our rich land such as spices. I was aware our land is
very source full of spices, rice, sugar, coffee. The Dutch colonized us with the focus of monopoly
through trading. Because of the most important source of the spices of this rich land of Indonesia,
the Netherlandsprofits from our land with tremendous wealth.
In colonialism era, the United State of America and the Great Britain maintain a good report to
respect their laws. Both countries are willing to allow their colonies to become independent. On the
other hands, European country such as the Netherlands, Spain, and France are very restricted to
their colonies, for examples, they limited education to certain social groups. Also, Southeast Asia is
not encouraged to engage in economic activities. This causes many corruptions that huge problems
in these European countries. This colonial authority did not support the rule of law to its own
country, it is only to Asian, which is Indonesian. They only control on our people but not their
people. Moreover, they control our politic, economic, and cultural.
This colonial authority, the Dutch did not provide civil liberties to our Indonesian. There is no fair
trial; freedom of assembly; free speech; free press when they colonized us. Only to

Haitian revolution Essay
In 1791 revolution broke out in the French colony of Saint Domingue, later called Haiti. The
Haitian Revolution resounded in communities surrounding the Atlantic Ocean. One of the
wealthiest European outposts in the New World, the Caribbean island s western third had some
of the largest and most brutal slave plantations. Slave laborers cultivated sugar, coffee, indigo,
and cotton, and they endured horrible death rates, requiring constant infusions of slaves from
Africa. In 1789 roughly 465,000 black slaves lived in the French colony on the island, along with
fewer than 31,000 whites. In addition, there were about 23,000 free blacks and mixed race people

The war became more complicated in 1793 when the British invaded Saint Domingue. The
Spanish, who had a colony on the eastern two thirds of Hispaniola, also entered the fray by
supporting armies of escaped slaves, including a force under the command of an ex slave named
Toussaint Louverture. Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger
Felicte Sonthonax in the northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to
every slave in summer and autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the
French National Convention abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794.This
action transformed the conflict. Louverture abandoned the Spanish and began to fight for the
French and the freedom of his people. Over the next couple of years, Louverture consolidated
power on the island and created rigid rules that compelled ex slaves to work on plantations so as
to make the island productive again. In 1795, because of events in Europe, the Spanish signed a
peace treaty that ceded their colony on the island to the French. In 1798 Louverture negotiated a
treaty with the British, convincing them to leave the island and promising not to support any slave
rebellions in British colonies. He also sought to develop commercial relations with the United
States, even as the Quasi War (1798 1800) broke out with France, by sending Joseph Bunel to
Philadelphia. Bunel was so successful that he dined

  • 2. Apple Vertical Integration Essay I can start with the fact that Apple Inc. is a vertically integrated company. It is a package of every things from hardware to software, over to online services. It do all this to proof its products that distinguish market from PCs to smartphones. In this essay, I will discuss how Apple used vertical integration strategies, both backward integration and forward integration to planning its competitive position within its industry. First of all, vertical integration is when the company need to develop its business and expand it to areas that are in different points on the same production channel like when a company owns its supplier or distributer in order to get more control in a particular sector, as well as to increase profits through greater ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We can say Apple vertically integrated because its four companies in one, so all key parts of the supply chain under its controlling. It s a hardware company because its designs its own hardware, its software company because its own and developed its software such as iOS operating system, Apple is a service company because it prepare its products like the iTunes an iCloud also Apple as a retail company it retails of its apps online through Apple Store. This is unlike Samsung used Google s Android operating system in its cell phones. Apple followed this approach, therefore all profit go to Apple and increase its income but also there are disadvantages to this strategy when a company fails to keep their finances they are only influence itself and that lead to loss more money. Apple has followed both backward and forward integration for many reasons. To control its manufacturing process of its hardware, to know its customers and to control innovation supply chain. A backward integration target is to develop the inputs and that way give more control on Apple s supply chain. Apple followed forward integration to increase its market share by changing the method that following in distribution. • 3. Jean Anock You are not Forgotten There are around 550,000 people living in Johnson County Kansas (United states Census Bureau). Most everybody has a faucet they can get to whenever they want. Most people have a pantry they can get into everyday if they want to. Most people can go into a dresser or a clauset and pick out any clothes that they want to wear for the day. Many people here do not realize how lucky and good they have it. If somebody s phone cracks, or their girlfriend/boyfriend breaks up with them, they think it is the end of the world. But I would rather have my phone crack or not get invited to that sick party than have to walk miles a day for water or have to scrap everything you have to build a school. This is what life is like for the ten million people living in Haiti, Africa. This is what life was like for Jean Anock every day. Jean Anock was an 11 year old boy in 2010, he had little to start but by the end of January 12, he was going to have nothing. When people hear about this charity I think they start to feel grateful and lucky that they have a fridge or a faucet at home. The overall charity is a 95 out of 100 or a four star rating they rank higher than a score of 90 in overall grade, financial grade and in accountability and transparency. • 4. Democracy And Violent Civil Conflict Democracy and violent civil conflict Democracy is believed to have a pacifying power. With electoral processes, the rule of law and freedom from state oppression it makes sense that the populations has enough avenues to express grievances without resorting to full scale civil violence. Democracy beyond mutual democratic pacifism would thus have an impact on internal civil relations positively but this is not the case. There have been an increased number of cases of civil and ethnic violence in government systems that we might consider to be in stages of democratization. Evidence would seem to suggest that there are greater levels of violent civil conflict in these sort of regimes as opposed to full blown dictatorships or democracies. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [4] Hypothesis. There are two major hypothesis in this paper i.Pseudo democracies have greater levels of civil violence than do democracies ii. Pseudo democracies have greater levels of civil violence than autocracies. Theory I argue that this could be as a result of a number of reasons, while an autocratic government might be able to use force to keep the population under tight control, a weak democracy with its relative political and civil freedoms is likely to bring strife as soon as institutions are not functional and transparent enough. Ethnic groups, religious groups or party faithful soon take to violence when the institutions in place is not trusted either due to incapacity or lack of transparency and since the citizens now have a voice and might not be exposed to the dangers of brutal crackdowns they soon are exposed to strife that soon become violent. This might be due to introduction of unpopular or controversial laws, dissatisfaction with government performance or suspicion of government s actions. Competitive elections presents a whole new avenue for disagreement and where the representatives are disconnected from the electorate, they turn to violent conflict as a route to voice grievances with less fear of extreme crackdown by the government. The problem is that most often what would start as a peaceful demonstration explodes into an all out riot with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Someone suddenly reflecting a role given to them is referred to as the Lucifer Effect. (Myers 2014, p. 461) In the film, Full Metal Jacket, Sergent Hartman played his role as the drill instructor both intensely and aggressively.(Kubrick) Hartman perfectly reflected the stereotype of both verbally and physically abusive drill instructors as he used his role as the instructor to frequently undermine and harass the new cadets. Hartman s goal as a drill instructor was to have all of the cadets to conform into the ideal type of soldier for war, even if that meant possibly shattering their beliefs and mind. • 9. The Evolution Of Female Identity The Evolution of Female Identity Characterization through stereotyping female identity creates weak characters bound by gender expectations. The evolution of dimensional working girl protagonists develops an unconventional female identity, which breaks the common tropes of a woman s role in literature and society. Independent female archetypes often adopt masculine qualities to achieve status, earnest acceptance and independence in a man s world. The heroine, Nancy Drew, promotes the corrosion of traditional female identity, inheriting male identified traits to express success and strength. In the first chapter of Carolyn Keene s mystery novel, The Message in the Hollow Oak, the archetype of a strong female character equates success from transcending into male identified personality, reverting from tradition femininity and adopting male qualifies to express strong independent characteristics. Through the narrative exposition and indirect integration of character development through dialogue and inner monologue, female characters within the novel display strength by identifying with masculine strength. Female identity is contrasted through the characterization of George and Bess, identifying two representations of femininity as one that conforms to the norms of gender within society, and one who equates boyish physical appearance with strength and success. In the novel, character development is displayed through narrative exposition and dialogue. Female characters within ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before that event, Arkansas preferred to remain neutral and hoped for a peaceful outcome to the divided country. President Lincoln s decision to issue a call for troops signified an attempt to use violence to preserve the union, and triggered a vote that would change Arkansas forever. The elected leaders of Arkansas by a margin of 69 to 1 passed a disunion ordinance and chose to stand with the Confederate States to oppose Northern aggression, unfortunately there loyalty went underappreciated as Arkansas geographical and political significance went overlooked by confederate leaders and their war strategy. Hindman assumed command of the Trans Mississippi District, an area that stretched Missouri to Louisiana. Charged with the organization of troops to defend the states of Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, and the Indian Territory, he had the appropriate authority but very few resources. With limited forces, he imposed martial law throughout Arkansas in order to seize munitions, gather supplies, and enforce the Conscription Act. He initiated the rationing of goods and ordered the forming of independent Guerilla bands. Groups known as the Bands of Tens formed from his issuance of General Orders Number 17, which called for all citizens to assemble in groups of ten and elect a captain. The group s sole mission was to annoy and harass the union army whenever and wherever possible, just as Hindman envisioned the Spanish doing to Napoleon s Army. The strategic objective of this action was to slow down the Union armies long enough to rebuild a conventional force. His efforts were relatively successful as he was able to amass 18000 regular forces and over 5000 irregular troops. Humans cannot control the inner actions of their eyes because the eyes are apart of the body that moves unintentionally. I chose to draw an abstract art of the eye to help the reader visualize and understand Meursault s emotions throughout the story. I also chose to use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the 1940s. During this time period, abstract art consisted of multiple different colors and it stood as a method of expression for those who wanted to display their feelings. I also incorporated the usage of numerous lines in my art to represent the main character emotions. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The puzzles in the back represent the visual analysis that the author wants the readers to develop about Meursault s life. My reasoning behind this is because his life was portrayed as a puzzle and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did. There were specific colors used to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what he came to value after sometime particularly after he was done talking to the chairman. The color yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when he went to the beach. The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. Orange and blue were utilized to represent the sky and the sun that throughout the story we see Meursault talked about often. Overall, the book cover image was created to exhibit and incorporate all the small details of Meursault s life as described throughout the book for the reader to be able to visualize and ... For you to be ethical it says you need to act with love towards one another, no matter of what they have done to you. Fletcher also emphasis that legalism is the insistence that predetermine laws are to be put into action when they are relevant to the situation at hand. • 20. The Revolutionary Pitching Velocity Training Strap SELLING A NOVEL SPORTS PRODUCT IDEA Introducing the Revolutionary Pitching Velocity Training Strap! As all baseball fans know, a recent episode of the HBO series Real Sports featured Seattle Mariners pitcher Steve Delabar whose professional baseball career was unexpectedly revived by a revolutionary new pitching training technique he had experimented with only for the purpose and in the context of his high school baseball coaching duties, long after he had resigned himself to the fact that his major league pitching career had been ended prematurely by a major elbow injury caused by the physiological stress of pitching. This was the inspiration for my new sports product invention: the revolutionary Pitching Velocity Training Strap. The program that saved Delabar s career is the technique developed by youth baseball coach Tom House that has already produced remarkable results with almost 1,000 school age ball players. Briefly, the innovator realized that one of the main reason that pitching a baseball is so stressful is that the pitching motion develops only the anterior (front) of the shoulder muscles and not the posterior (back) shoulder muscles. The new training technique was inspired by the similarities between the baseball pitching motion and the tennis serving motion. Unlike baseball pitchers, however, tennis players rarely suffer shoulder injuries. This is because tennis players hold on to their racquets at the follow through whereas baseball pitchers release ... Within the field, there are people that are extending theories that have been around for some time. If they are not continuing work on an existing theory, they are developing a new one. Our class discussed five main theories. The theories we discussed in class are Rational Choice Theory, Trait Theory, Social Structure Theory, Social Process Theory, and Developmental Theory. Rational Choice Theory says that a person chooses to commit the crime based on if the reward outweighs the risk, regardless of the crime. Within this theory, there are four sub theories, General Deterrence, Specific Deterrence, Rational Choice, and Incarceration. Offense specific crimes are crimes where the offender reacts selectively to the characteristics of a particular criminal act(Siegel, 2011). The first of the four sub theories, General Deterrence, focuses on the fear of punishment. The best way to enforce this is to ensure the certainty, severity, and swiftness of the punishment. Next, the second sub theory is specific deterrence. Specific deterrence is the view that criminal sanctions should be so powerful that offenders will never repeat their criminal acts. Furthermore, the third sub theory is more of an extension of the second sub theory. Particularly, our desire for love and the influence this has on our lives has constantly been the subject of literature. Whilst relationships have remained the same; our views on relationships have changed massively. In the poem Valentine , Carol Ann Duffy talks about the unorthodox love when she compares love to an onion. The use of strong imagery, powerful diction, distinct form and structure and various poetic devices (such as extended metaphors), enables the poet to present her unique perspective of love contrasting to the stereotypical way love is often thought about. This direct address by Duffy for her readers makes her appear bold and confident. Similar to the third stanza, the connotations of the onion are used throughout this stanza without mentioning the onion. At this point, Duffy has progressed the relationship to the degree of marriage. She highlights ironic similarities when she writes about how it platinum loops shrink to a wedding ring , which makes little sense as platinum is a very expensive metal while the onion is not precious or desirable at all. The verb shrink may symbolise some sort of entrapment. If you like is almost like asking the recipient for his/her will and perhaps suggesting that the relationship could go in this direction but it is not necessary for the things that will inevitably follow. As the end of the poem progresses, Duddy begins to suggest that failed relationships can be difficult to overcome. She goes as far as to state that love may be lethal which implies that the loss of a lover can cause some part of a person to die or perhaps more sinisterly that it may result in suicide. This also puts emphasis on danger and commitment in love and may refer to the increasing danger of getting more deeply committed to a relationship. Therefore, the more one is committed, the harder (or more lethal ) the fall is, when it ends. The scent of the onion is a symbol of the thoughts and emotions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Canada, the amount of paternal leave offered for families is 35 weeks and originally had to be split between the two parents. The Global News reported that the 2018 federal government budget included a five week, use it or lose it incentive for new dads to take parental leave with the statement that this will help families balance or reconcile work and family responsibilities (Blatchford, 2018). Marshall (2008) explored the traditional use of the parental leave; initially revealing it as primarily allocated to the mothers. Marshall noted that assuming parental leave is primarily a mother s benefit makes it difficult for fathers to take leave as it fuels conflicts in the workplace culture and societal expectations about the appropriate behaviour for men (Marshall, 2008). What is the behavior you want them to learn, if classical conditioning is used, what is the US, UR, NS, CS and CR. If using operant conditioning, what is the behavior you want to increase or decrease and what is the reinforcer that is used to increase or decrease that behavior. (ex., if you are in business and you want to increase productivity, what would you do?). How does their biology, motivation, cognitions and emotions influence their acquisition of the skill? Operant conditioning could be used to increase students performance on their tests. One thing that could be done to reinforce this behavior would be to reward the whole class for increased performance on their tests with a pizza party. I would just say that if the whole class has an average of 90% on the test, then they will get a pizza party. They would be more likely to study and therefore do better on the test because they want the pizza. The students will have to have a drive to want to get better grade and then the reward of that also. Their emotions have to be determined to do better, if they are to get the reward that they seek. 8. Identify three strategies you can use to improve your memory and recall. Essay on Avian Influenza and Its Expected Ramifications Over the past fifteen years H5N1 influenza (also known as Avian Flu or Bird Flu) has become a common topic of speculation and debate worldwide, causing quite a bit of confusion about its possible impacts on our society. At this point in time it is generally recognized by the international medical community that Avian Flu is bound to become a pandemic, most likely within the next ten years. Research on Avian Flu and its effects have led many scholars to make grave predictions of major global turmoil while a small portion of medical scientists remain skeptical, believing we will have enough time to thoroughly prepare for the outbreak. Type A flu strains are considered to be the most severe and are usually the only type of influenza that can cause a pandemic. On paper the avian flu may seem like the flu strains that we experience every year, but H5N1 is certainly unique. The first reason for this is that research has suggested that for currently idiopathic reasons the avian flu seems to have a predisposition to mutation, enabling it to rapidly create new strains that may be more dangerous, more contagious, or even resistant to antibiotics (which has already been observed in at least one case of an infected Vietnamese teenager). The reason avian flu has not yet caused any major outbreaks is because right now the virus is unable to be transmitted from human to human, only from bird to bird or bird to human. With such a high tendency to mutate, it is only a matter of time before the avian flu mutates into a strain that can be transmitted between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most common romantic relationship includes the sexual dating relationship, the domestic partnership, and the marriage. The adults or partners involved in these relationships inevitably reach a point of conflict and how they react to the conflict can show whether the partners are a securely, avoidant, or anxious attached person. The securely attached adults usually have a positive view when dealing with relationship issues. Whereas, an avoidant attached adults are more hesitant and distance themselves from their partner. Adults who tend to be more emotional, jealous, and possessive and demand closeness have an anxious attachment. People should strive for the secure attachment style for the best satisfaction level, commitment level, and ability to adapt to change in their romantic relationship, that is what most of the adults have and most want their partner to be the same. • 50. Analysis Of The Corpse Of Brutus Essay Standing over the corpse of Brutus, Antony begins his terse and final speech with the words This was the noblest Roman of them all. In order to discover the meaning of this claim, we must look to the next few lines in which Antony provides support for it. He notes that all the conspirators save only he / did that they did in envy of great Caesar. This seems, at least regarding Brutus, to be accurate. We find evidence for this in the beginning of the scene set in Brutus s orchard. Brutus says regarding Caesar I know no personal cause to spurn at him, / But for the general. While it is not, as we shall soon find, always advisable to take the claims of this play s characters at face value, these words are spoken when Brutus is alone and consequently without reason to dissemble. Brutus thus does not bear any personal envy for Caesar but only opposes him for the general cause, which is the common welfare of Rome. This aligns very well with what Antony says next in his final speech, that Brutus only in a general honest thought / And common good to all made one of [the conspirators]. So far, then, Antony seems to reckon Brutus the noblest Roman of them all because of his commitment to the general welfare at the expense of his own, and his speech perhaps expresses a tragically late recognition of Brutus s greatness. The next three lines of this speech, however, when contrasted with the first line, present a serious claim about nobility as it applies to the citizen and to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Paradise Lost By John Milton Paradise Lost by John Milton Paradise Lost by John Milton John Milton divided the characters in his epic poem Paradise Lost into two sides, one side under God representing good, and the other side under Satan representing evil and sin. Milton first introduced the reader to the character Satan, the representative of all evil, and his allegiance of fallen angels that aided in his revolt against God (Milton 35). Only later did Milton introduce the reader to all powerful God, leader and creator of all mankind (John). This introduction of Satan first led the reader to believe acts of sin were good, just like Eve felt in the Garden of Eden when she was enticed by Satan to eat the fruit off of the Tree of Knowledge (Milton 255). The later introduction of The Almighty had the readers change their feelings towards sin, as the ways of God were introduced to them and these ways were shown to be the way to feel and believe. This levy of good vs. evil carried on throughout the poem with the interaction of Satan and his fallen angels with God and his son in Heaven. The common representation of sin and evil came from the lead character in the battle against God, Satan. His name means enemy of God. He was a former high angel from Heaven named Lucifer, meaning, light bearer (John). Satan became jealous in Heaven of God s son and formed an allegiance of angels to battle against God, only for God to cast them out of Heaven into Hell (Milton 35). This did not bother Satan at ... There was a long pause before I responded: It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me said all at once, quoted by Lang Leav. I used this quote to present a similar description on how the wife feels about her husband. The Wife s Lament, is one of the most identifiable Anglo Saxon elegies and one of the earliest and unique illustrations of a poem composed from a womans point of view in British literature. There is no evidence whether the author is a man or a woman since the author did not present himself or herself. In the poem, it is obvious that she yearns for her husbanddeeply, but it does not tell you if he returns her feelings. The Wife s Lament, is a preview into the tenth century Anglo Saxon England, a point in time when wine streamed in the rivers, and colossal titans roamed the earth. The poem setting is the wife is in a stone cave surrounded by water with no one to help her if she is in danger. In the beginning of the poem she introduces her elegy as a sad tale of her heartache; that never in her life she has gone through. She tells the reader how her husband s family sent him out to sea and does not know if he will come back to her. The wife then explains how she is anxious for him, she does not sleep, or she wakes up in the morning, and only thinks about her husband. Duke Sons placed trading cards in cigarette packs that had sexually provocative ladies on them to try and boost sales. The company seemed to be successful with the promotion and by 1890 they were one of the leading brands of cigarettes. Another early example was found in 1910. Reichert notes in contemporary mainstream consumer advertising (e.g., magazines, network and cable television), sex is present in promotional messages for a wide range of branded goods (Reichert, 2002 pg. 242). Reichert then goes on to say ads feature provocative images of well defined women (and men) in revealing outfits and postures selling clothing, alcohol, beauty products, and fragrances. Creon, the king of Thebes, establishes a law that deprives Polynices, one of the two brothers that had died fighting for his rightful seat on the throne, a proper burial due to the attack of his own city. In response, Polynices sister Antigonedefies this law behind Creons back and is as a consequence, sentenced to death. Yet, Creon s judgements ultimately lead to his downfall as he loses all things significant to him in life. Thus, the characters of Antigone and Creon within Sophoclesplay find themselves in a conflict between their own conceivement of the law, which mirror the conflict between the divine and state. What Sophocles intends to convey within the tragic conclusion of both characters is the individuality of law and the correlating misconception that a wrong or right can be established within its definition. In constructing the mindsets of Creon and Antigone, whose complexity becomes a backbone to the intricacy of the play as a whole, Sophocles utilizes both their actions and the dialogue of the mediators to reveal the treatment and perception of their own preconceived laws. According to Sam Meisner from the fishbowl discussion, Antigone s sister and Creon s son Haemon acted as the voices of reason within the plot as both worked to reveal the hidden faults of the favored laws, thus dubbing them the mediators between the two extremes of the ...
