2. Lewis – singer, guitarist, male
character
Lewis has three roles in our video, his most important
role is that of being the male character in the
narrative section of our video and deliver how the
male is supposed to be feeling in this song about the
girl he is singing about, also his back story is that he
is going to a home to visit his dying grandmother
when the lyrics suggest he is going to see a girl that
makes him happy and that he loves which most of
the audience will take in a in love kind of way but that
is not how we want to portray it. He also has the two
combined roles of guitarist and singer in the live band
sections of the video which feature him and 3 others
playing the music which is common in a video of this
genre.
3. Emma – Grandma
Emma has the role of featuring in the
narrative as the second character and the
grandmother of the male character, she
has to portray a loving grandmother who is
being visited by his down and depressed
grandson so there is no room for error
when taking this seriously as it being quite
an emotional subject however she is not in
the live performance so it should be
relatively easy for her to stay in character.
4. Harlan – Guitarist
Harlan will be featuring in the live
performance sections of our music video
playing the guitar however he has no
appearance in the narrative sections of the
video. The song features guitar strongly so
he will feature a fair bit in the live
performance sections of our product.
5. Josh – Drums
Josh very much like Harlan has only a
band piece in which he has to play drums
in sync to the song, this song features less
drums than guitar so he shall feature less
than Harlan and Lewis in the band
performance sections of the final product.
6. Matt - Bass
In our band performance sections of the
final production of our music video Bass
will be played by Matt who will also only
feature in the performance sections of the
video and not in the narrative. He will
feature relatively the same amount as josh
and will have to like the others remain
serious and keep the legitimate feel to the
video.
7. Narrative
From initially picking this song we knew we wanted to apply
Goodwin’s theory of illustrating the lyrics to a degree which is
why it focuses primarily about a man thinking about a woman
and caring about her deeply. Due to the songs dark and not very
positive mood we wanted to take the footage in dark and gloomy
settings when focusing on the male/main character in our music
video and possibly lighten it up at the end when with the female
character.
We didn’t want to make it a simple, boring music video about a
man loving a woman however so we added the grandma
element at the end to ensure it was different and our video stood
out and also developed a link with the audience on a strong
emotional level.
