3. The reasons why I have selected this specific MOOC
Since I am a Bachelor of Education student I have selected this MOOC to acquire more skills
in teaching profession that will make me know how to teach learners effectively. Moreover,
this tactics will not only assist me to teach students at school that I will be working at, but it
will also help me to know how to teach adult people in my community that are willing to get

formal education. I am a person who is willing to teach adult people in my society since there
is a large number of people in my society that did not go to school because of Bantu
education. This MOOC I have selected will look at how to engage learners through
collaborative learning, instructional skills and design, as well as looking at the role
technology is playing in terms of promoting engaged learning environments. It will explore
the importance of creating a safe and accountable learning environment; observe an
experienced teacher who works with instructional skills and tactics to promote safe and
accountable learning environments. Those skills that I will acquire in this MOOC will work
as an advantage both to my learners that I will be teaching in school and people that I will be
teaching in my community.

5. INTRODUCTION TO MOOC COMMUNITY:
I am Sanele Myeni a 3rd
year Bachelor of Education student at University of Johannesburg in South
Africa. I’m a child of God, a born again Christian. I try to do what right all the time. I like reading
stuff that I come across but most of all I like reading educational stuff. I love interacting with different
kind of people from different places, I am very friendly but I can sometimes easily get angry when
things I don’t like are done to me. I like learning in groups because when I’m with the group it is
where I can get different ideas from different minds.
