3. REASONSFOR SELECTING THIS MOOC
Provide reasons why you have selected that specific Mocc?
 As a future teacher, this Mocc will enable me to approach and assist learners who
struggle in terms of adopting in a new environment such as a university.
 It will also assist me in terms of my own subject Life Orientation.
 To give learners an overview about the life style in university so that they can be able
to flourish in their first year of university.

 Yes, it is related to my field in education
Is it a personal interest or hobby?
 It is a personal interest and it will also build on my skills as a life orientation teacher.
It will assist me as a teacher in developing the skills of the learners in my classroom.
I enjoying indulging with learners and even helping them out with their own life after
school, this is one of the skills that I have as a teacher.
4. EXPECTATIONS:
Tell us what you wish to gain from this MOOC, in other words what are your expectation?
 I wish to gain relevant skills that will help me in my field of study, gain more
Knowledge in transposing relevant skills to the learners. I also expect to be given the
opportunity to give my own refection in terms of the work or activities that they will
give us. I expect teaching and learning to be more lecture and student centred rather
that lecture centred. This will lead to effective teaching and learning and the student
will also be able to transpose what the lecture has taught to the learners in the
classroom.
5. INTRODUCTION TO MOOCCOMMUNITY

 I am a university student, who is studying education in the University of
Johannesburg. I major in life orientation and school guidance and support. School
guidance and support is a new module that is introduced in university. The reason I
chose this module is due to the fact that is more based on the learner and the
difficulties that learners in their teenage years. I enjoy making a difference and also
supporting learners who need extra attention. I am a very determined student, I love
working with children and most of all I enjoying my field of study. As a future teacher,
I look forward in bringing change in the classroom setting, using different teaching
strategies that will accommodate all the learners in my classroom.
