My First Job Essay
Crafting an essay about my first job may seem like a straightforward task at first glance, but
delving into the intricacies of the experience unveils a nuanced challenge. The difficulty lies not
in the lack of personal anecdotes or memories associated with that initial foray into the
professional realm, but rather in the delicate balance required to convey both the tangible and
intangible aspects of the journey.
The challenge is to transcend the mere narration of events and delve into the introspective realm,
exploring the emotional nuances, lessons learned, and personal growth that accompanied the
transition from a novice to a contributing member of the workforce. Striking the right chord
between sincerity and engaging storytelling, while avoiding the trap of turning the essay into a
mere chronological recollection, adds another layer of complexity.
Furthermore, the task involves weaving a narrative that resonates with the audience, evoking
empathy, relatability, or even inspiration. This requires a keen understanding of the target
readership and an adept use of language to captivate and hold their attention.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between humility and self-
promotion. Articulating achievements and skills acquired without sounding boastful requires
finesse, as the essay should showcase personal development without devolving into a mere brag
sheet.
In essence, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of my first job lies in the nuanced
dance between narrative and reflection, emotion and analysis, humility and confidence. Crafting
an essay that is not only descriptive but also insightful, not merely personal but universally
resonant, demands a meticulous approach to language, structure, and tone.
And as the endeavor of essay writing unfolds, one might find the need for external support or
guidance. If the task seems overwhelming, it's worth noting that resources are available to assist
in navigating this intricate process. Whether seeking examples, guidance, or even professional
assistance, there are platforms like HelpWriting.net where similar essays and much more can be
explored or ordered to make the writing journey a smoother one.

What Intimate Relationship Between Transparent Logic,...
Japanese autodidact modernist architect Tadao Ando, explores the intimate
relationship between transparent logic, abstraction, nature and place through the
study of material and form and the interaction between the everyday human life and it
s surrounding in his architecture. The interplay of these elements are evident through
his body of work especially his residential Koshino House and Extension project. His
broad depth in understanding the inherent fundamental human needs and his close
study of famous modernist architects such as Le Corbusierand Frank Lloyd Wright
has resulted in his prevailing success.
I create architectural order on the basis of geometry... and in this way to develop a
theory of parts that is founded on the sensibility of the Japanese people . As a child
growing up in front of a wood workshop, being fascinated by what he saw, at the
age of 10 17 Ando became an apprentice, learning to create wooden models and the
skills of a carpenter. There he discovered the beauty of the balance between a form
and the material it is made of. However it was not until he was 18, when he
discovered a book about Le Corbusier and began to travel and analyse traditional and
contemporary architecture in Japan, Europe and the United States, he came to
understand these relationships in actual architecture as an entire physical being.

Iranian High School Differences Of The United States
Iranian high School Differences
In the United States, Americans often talk about how important it is to have an
education. Without having a high school diploma in the United States, adults would
not be able to enter in the workforce easily, enroll in college and enlist in the Army.
Adolescents in different locations of the world do not get to choose what they want
to do in the future. Some countries have to earn their high school diplomas by passing
numerous tests. There some countries in the world that have to take an examination
before they enter into high school. If they enter in a good high school, it can also
lead them to have a better life for themselves. Teenagers never understand what it
would be like to live in a place that education that students had to study repeatedly
during the holidays or vacations. Some Americans do not value how can you get an
education for freedom and students are not being discriminated by their race, religion
or gender. The difference of the school calendar, mandatory classes that student have
to take, competitive entrance exams that help the students and the grading system
defines the difference of North Carolina High School and high school in Iran.
Every country in the world has a different Academic calendar. Iranian schools operate
from Saturday to Thursday and have 200 days of school. In Ashe County, there is
one hundred eighty days of school that operated from Monday to Friday. Ashe County

In particular, small changes in inputs can result in large changes in the value of a
company, given the need to project cash flow to infinity. James Montier argues that,
while the algebra of DCF is simple, neat and compelling, the implementation becomes
a minefield of problems . He cites, in particular, problems with estimating cash flows
and estimating discount rates. Despite the issues, DCF analysis is very widely used
and is perhaps the primary valuation tool amongst the financial analyst community.
2.2. Terminal Value
Terminal Value, in simple term, is the value of a company with an infinite row of
constant future cash flows.
To arrive at a total company value, or enterprise value, we simply have to take the
present value of the cash flows and the Terminal value, divide them by the discount
rate and, finally, add up the results. If we are discounting free cash flow of the firm
at the weighted average cost of capital, this would give the value of the firm, so it
would be necessary to deduct net debt in order to arrive at the equity value. In this
report, simply use FCF in the year of 2011 to compare the value of the firm to the
stock price in the year end of 2011.
2.3. Weighted Average Cost of Capital
The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the discount rate used in a
Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to present value projected free cash flows and
terminal value.
Hills Like White Elephants Symbolism
Throughout the course of each person s life, the journey for life appreciation is
tested. Many paths are taken to find the value of it, but when found, it includes the
decisions of choosing what s valuable. Ernest Hemingway Hills like White
Elephants is a short story that reveals people s unseen appreciation for life. As
suggested by the title this literary story fits into sub genre realistic fiction, showing
people s different approaches for appreciation. Taking place in 1927, this story
focuses on a young couple who face a big decision in their relationship. On their trip
towards Madrid, they stop at a junction to pause and reflect on their choices. The
women can either follow her boyfriend suggestions of aborting the baby or terminate
their relationship by keeping it. Ernest Hemingwayexposes the theme of life
appreciation. By using symbolism to expose the Jig s... Show more content on

In this story the use of symbolism is used to expose Jig s appreciation of life by
identifying herself with a scenic view. The theme of this story is revealed by her
portraying her sentiments towards nature. Hemingway uses symbolism of nature
to reveal Jig s appreciation for life. This can be seen when he writes They re lovely
hills she said (222) exposing to the reader that this character is a person who
connects with nature and as well as with the child she is bearing. In the story by
describing the scenery, she describes her feelings for the child. Hemingway also
writes about Jig s connection of hills and elephants, by writing They look like white

The Ten Year Cultural Revolution
The ten year Cultural Revolution, in essence, was a political power struggle inside
of the CCP, and as Mao died on September 9 1976, the Gang of Four was arrested
soon on October 10. Since Mao s successor Hua Guofeng was politically weak, Deng
Xiaoping came back to power. Though the new leaders tried to help China recover
from the revolution and rebuild the economic systems, the influences of the
revolution did not vanish quickly. The Party had to deal with the mistakes that Mao
made during the revolution, make the resolution on the revolution, and formulated
the new road that the country should follow. Other than the political struggles that the
Party faced, the society also created troubles. The intellectuals, especially the sent
down youths who illegally came back to cities, were excited and looking forward to a
democratic government, and they again started to criticize the government and
commented on the politics just like their predecessors did in the Hundred Flowers
Campaign. However, this situation did not satisfy Deng, who emphasized that the
correct line for China was to insist the absolute principle of the Party (Meisner, 457),
and he then decided to consolidate his power. In general, though Cultural Revolution
ended, the political struggles that it represented never stopped, and would be
continued for years. Meinser points out that Mao did construct the country and lead
its people to reach many striking successes, including building a modern nation state,
Chupacabra Research Paper
There are some people who inaccurately believe that sightings of the chupacabra
date back to the 1970s, but the chupacabras first sighting report did not come until
1995 in Puerto Rico. The chupacabra seemingly suddenly sprang into existence and
no one knows for sure why or how the chupacabra came to be. The chupacabra had
a zenith of about five years, when it was wide ly reported in Mexico, Chile,
Nicaragua, Spain, Brazil, Argen tina, and Florida among other places (Radford
Tracking). In Hawley, Texas there was a report of a goat man and they called it
The Hawley Goat Man. The strange thing about this is that in the report of the goat
man in mentioned a creature covered in scales and fur, which bears little
resemblance to most re ports of the chupacabra, this alleged encounter happened near
Fort Worth which is over 160 miles east of Hawley (Radford Texas).... Show more

There are many different de scriptions of the chupacabra from the several sightings
of them, but none of them have been confirmed, the one that is most common and
considered to be the original of these de scriptions is that it is a bipedal creature
with long legs and arms, stands about three to five feet tall, has a large oval shaped
head, alien wrap around eye, and a distinctive row of spikes going down the
creatures spine. The creature known as the chupacabra is thought to be a fox,
possum, raccoon chime ra, an organism that is a combination of multiple different
organisms, in the 1950s. People have said to have seen it suck the blood out of
small animals and livestock (Radford mys tery ). The chupacabra got its name from
a combination of two Spanish words, these words are chupar meaning to suck and
cabra meaning goat (Lusted
Sathnam Sangheera In A Bubble

particularly his mother s, reaction to his choices in life.
First, describe his choices and his family s, particularly his mother s, reaction to them.
Sathnam an Indian guy that has a white girlfriend, which is not so much appreciated
by his mother. At one point his mother talks about this person called Ranjit who I
suppose is Sathnam s brother comparing them and she obviously favors Ranjit.
Talking about how he has an Indian wife, two children and how he helps the family
business by staying in Wolverhampton. Sathnam on the other hand, living in London
with a white girlfriend is probably doing the opposite of what his mother wants.

They bring up a few facts of supplements and they bring up different examples of
people taking these supplements and it affected their bodies. But the main point of
this text is that there are no shortcuts to change your body and the only thing that
works is a persistent diet.
The third text, How food can improve your mental health shows the possible
connection between your diet and your mental health. Emma who is 34 years old was
suffering from anxiety, depression and mental health, but after meeting up with a
doctor they changed her diet from fast foods and general poor eating habits to more
fresh foods and less sugar. After this change she noticed an improvement in her
mental health.
Secondly, about healthy and unhealthy eating, from having read/listened to the texts.
You can e.g. write about the dos and don ts about diets that we can discern from these
texts.
If you would create the perfect diet based on the facts of these texts, it would
probably be a diet based on fresh foods. I ll break it up into two different parts, the
things you should do and the things you should avoid.

Nietzsche Slave Morality
The slave mortality presented by Nietzsche in his Genealogy of Morals is prevalent
within modern literature. The dark effects of this morality have crept far beyond the
general view of the elite class and into our writing. This is not much of a surprise
since literature reflects the world and our view of the world within it. Unfortunately,
its impact on our society is shown by its prevalence within modern writing. This
morality allows the author to focus on the evilenemy (Nietzsche 39) instead of the
good within humanity. This obsession with the negativity within the world has
become a theme within humanities writing. Every good story must have some
conflict some evil that is tearing at the good and often innocent. And it is true, that...

The standard of living is the highest it has ever been, the rate at which new
technologies are being produced is truly amazing. The problem with the slave
morality is not its existence but its prevalence. This is where Nietzsche
observations have some reality. It is true that the slave mentality is widespread and
that thousands of years have made it hard to look past such a mentality but
Nietzsche argument that it started with the jews is questionable at best. The
mythology that comes long before the influence of Judeo Christian influence
spread throughout the western world and it always has monsters or evil royalty
that must be destroyed. The hero is good because they are not monsters and
because they remove the monsters. The monsters are just like the birds of prey the
truth is that entirety of the human race was a lamb. That mentality allowed us to
survive the treacherous world and eventually change it to fit our purpose. In order
to achieve this humankind has to take as much as they could that way our frail
bodies could survive. This take still has a place in the culture that we face today and
in a lot of ways it has no place.
Both of the plays The Good Woman of Setzuan by Bertolt Brecht and Trifles by
Susan Glaspell depict worlds that are full of evil. In Trifles, a woman murders her
husband and two of her friends justify it by using the slave s morality. He took away

Coca Cola Code Of Conduct
Working on this assignment, I figured out that codes of conduct not only serve to set
basic rules of company, but also represent the spirit of company. Furthermore, it can
be a guide to be successful in the company as employee and it helped me understand
that I must be well acquainted with the code to become a professional businessman. I
went through Googles and Coca Cola s codes of conduct. Google s values are to
ensure financial integrity and responsibility, to serve users, and to obey the law.
Google states that its core valuehas always been to spend money wisely because
Google believes all appropriate actions based on Google s asset makes up trust to
shareholders, company and users. Don t be evil. This is a one slogan Googlers
have in their mind when they serve users. It is about providing every user with
unprejudiced information, concentrating on users needs, and offering best service.
Obeying the law, such as competition laws and anti bribery laws, this is what
Google is entirely responsible for. If they violate, there might be considerable loss
to Google. Coca Cola values Quality, Integrity, and Passion. I think the principal
reason Coca Cola became extremely famous is the quality of product Coke itself is
an outstanding invention. Integrity of Coca Cola can be demonstrated by its
unstained policy. Coca Cola makes their product without any commercial trouble and
appropriate cost of product. Passion is what Coca Cola seems to value much. Coca

My Challenging Week
It has been customary for me to begin these entries with words of how interesting it
has been, and unfortunately, nothing has changed. I have had a very challenging
and interesting week. It started off with trivial car issues. My car broke down and
I have been renting a car since last Saturday. Sunday the Men s Choir at the Church
celebrated their 18th Anniversary. I was asked by one of the members if I could
stay until the program. I had already planned to go home, take a nap, and then
return, but when he asked I felt compelled to stay. I stayed at the Church form 9:00
7:00 pm. They had over 12 guest choirs to come and each choir sang two selections. I
thoughtI would take advantage of this opportunity to mingle with the people and
Mrs. Walls was one of the first I encountered. As she sat down next to me I could
tell immediately by her star glasses and wrap on her head that she was flamboyant
outwardly as well as inwardly. I told her I liked her glasses and how unique they
were and she responded, I know, if anyone else wore these they would look stupid.
They only look good on me. I smiled trying to contain my laughter. She then went on
to talk and throughout the course of the conversation, I heard many words of anger,
frustration, and hurt projected towards the members of the church. I looked at this as
the perfect opportunity inject myself as preacher/teacher. Taking from Willimon; you

Positive Evaluation Of Attractive Movie Characters And...
According to Vermeir and Sompel, the stereotype explains the positive evaluation of
attractive movie characters and advertising models by the audience. In movies,
attractiveness of a character is often strongly associated with moral goodness, higher
levels of romantic activity, better life outcomes, and higher centrality to the plot and
weakly related to higher intelligence and slightly lower levels of aggression for both
male and female models. (Vermeir and Sompel, 2014) In addition, according to
Vermeir and Sompel, people are more likely to agree with attractive individuals more
so than those that are less attractive.
The sex of a person can also highly affect the outcome of whether the receiver creates
a positive or negative response ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if the presenter s attractiveness level is very high, than their physical
attractiveness will lead to social comparison jealousy of the receiver and will
negatively affect the liking of the ad and the product being presented. As predicted
by evolutionary theory, the positive effect of a presenter s attractiveness on liking of
the ad is even stronger when female receivers see the male presenter (opposite sex)
than when male receivers see the male presenter (same sex). (Praxmarer, 2011)
Narrative Paradigm Theory
The narrative paradigm theory stresses the effectiveness of influence through
narration, which is persuasion through storytelling. This means that advertisements
use storytelling to persuade which is highly used in the Superbowl ads. When the
narrative used appears to flow smoothly, makes sense and is believable it is said to
have narrative coherence. In addition, when the narrative used in persuasion looks
like it is honest, and aligns with our own experiences, we can say there is narrative
fidelity. In order to accept a narrative as believable, a person must perceive the
narrative s fidelity first, because without fidelity, coherence does not matter.
Advertising can assume the form of either arguments or narratives. Argumentative
advertising tends to present fact based information that persuades through logical
arguments and lectures, whereas narrative advertising tells a story about product
consumption or related experiences or

Summary Of The Federalist Papers
The Federalist Papers are a collection of 85 essays and articles written by three of
the most prominent men in early United States history: Alexander Hamilton, James
Madison, and John Jay. All of these essays were written to try to ratify the United
States Constitution. Seventy seven were published serially in The Independent
Journal and The New York Packet between October 1787 and August 1788. A
compilation of these and eight others, called The Federalist; or, The New
Constitution, was published in two volumes in 1788 by J. and A. McLean. The
collection s original title was The Federalist; the title The Federalist Papersdid not

Federalist No. 10, in which Madison discusses the means of preventing rule by
majority faction and advocates a large, commercial republic, is generally regarded
as the most important of the 85 articles from a philosophical perspective; it is
complemented by Federalist No. 14, in which Madison takes the measure of the
United States, declares it appropriate for an extended republic, and concludes with
a memorable defense of the constitutional and political creativity of the Federal
Convention.[3] In Federalist No. 84, Hamilton makes the case that there is no
need to amend the Constitution by adding a Bill of Rights, insisting that the
various provisions in the proposed Constitution protecting liberty amount to a bill
of rights . Federalist No. 78, also written by Hamilton, lays the groundwork for the
doctrine of judicial review by federal courts of federal legislation or executive acts.
Federalist No. 70 presents Hamilton s case for a one man chief executive. In
Federalist No. 39, Madison presents the clearest exposition of what has come to be
called Federalism . In Federalist No. 51, Madison distills arguments for checks and

SWOT ANALYSIS OF THE CHAPLAINCY DUTIES FROM 1200 1600AD
Chaplains kept the faith by holding on to the be, know, do concept between the 1200s
and the 1600s AD. Being a practitioner of faith meant applying the rites commanders
and the papacy authorized as a mission requirement. Knowing meant priests were to
have a thorough knowledge of the rites of penance, mass, final unction, and viaticum.

Weakness Once governments saw the potential for victory for its political gain, the
chaplaincy began to weaken and divide. For example, the War in England as written
in pamphlets described the role of the chaplain during that time. Their job in this
role was to sustain men who had to face their neighbors in a war over political and
religious differences. [3] Some chaplains were used to control the spread of
heterodox religious views, while others left the military in pursuit of doing what is
right, and preaching the true message of God. This departure from the military
added to the weakness of the chaplaincy. Another weakness, chaplains were wrongly
accused or labeled as evil, when it fact, laymen were the culprits. It was laymen such
as Henry Denne and Paul Hobson who gave the army a reputation for radical
sectarianism; the further association of religious radicals with the chaplains was
almost entirely independent of the chaplains themselves[4].
Opportunities
Valuable lessons learned about chaplains during this given time period is that the
need to administer God in truth to all people provided a means of opportunity for the
chaplaincy. When shortages of chaplains occurred, governments selected priests with
no military affiliation. And for chaplains who stayed behind in their parishes,
governments imposed special instructions as well. For example, Benedict the Levite
insisted that clerics celebrate masses, carry out
How Does Lynne Ramsay Use Film Techniques Of Eva...
How has Ramsay used film techniques to illustrate Eva s point of view and
emotional state in the film? Lynne Ramsay s We Need To Talk About Kevin
(2011) is a thriller drama which follows Eva Khatchadourian, a widowed mother in
distress due to the massacre caused by her psychopathic son. Ramsay uses various
film techniques to portray the perspective and emotional state of Eva in the film.
Through colour, sound and music he expresses her feelings clearly to the
audience. Colour was widely explored by Ramsay to depict the extensive array of
feelings of Eva. Two prominent colours were red and yellow. Red is used as the
dominant colour to depict Eva s inability to escape from the guilt and blood caused
by the actions of Kevin, her son. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He implements music in contrast to the mood of Eva to express to the audience
her emotional state. A wide array of blues music were often utilised to contrast Eva
s mood. Ham N Eggs by Lonnie Donegan was used when Eva was driving to the jail
from work. Her mood highly contrasts with the uplifting tone of the music as she
has just visited her son in jail. Music was also used to give hints as to the actions
of Eva. As Eva was frantically searching Kevin s room, the song In My Room by
The Beach Boys began playing. The blues song contained lyrics such as, There s a
world where I can go and tell my secrets to In my room, in my room. In this world I
lock out all my worries and my fears. The lyrics show that Eva was searching for
any clues to help her discern the actions and attitude of Kevin. She found nothing
to help her determine Kevin s attitude which was ironic to lyrics. Another example
of ironic use of music was during Eva s work Christmas party where Colin asks her
to dance. Eva shyly rejects the dance and Colin whispers an insult to her. The
cheerful song Last Christmas by Wham! is gradually increased in volume to rival
Eva s hurt feelings. Ramsay s recurring use of music in aims of ironically contrasting
Eva s melancholic state, is clearly expressed to the

Thanksgiving In William Bradford s Of Plymouth
Plantation
William Bradford s Of Plymouth Plantation opened my eyes about Plymouth and
Thanksgiving. First of all, there was a part in Bradford s background that caught
my eye: Thanksgiving. I am sure that many of us at some point visualized
Thanksgiving as a large feast. However, I found it shocking that his narrative does
not emphasize a feast, but rather a document of what it was like in Plymouth and the
interactions with the Native Americans. Either way, I still found it interesting how
Thanksgiving came to be. It would be nice to read another person s viewpoint of
Thanksgiving and to see if there really was a feast or not. On the side note, it was
upsetting how the Pilgrims were taunted by the church for believing differently. I
already knew that
A Comparison Between Star Trek And Star Wars
For years Americans have looked to the skies, dreaming of the intergalactic future,
and Hollywood has filmed the skies, latching onto America s love for fictional space
travel. Of the numerous cosmic entertainment franchises, Star Trek and Star Wars
undoubtedly claim the title of the two most successful, and with great power comes
great controversy. As long as the two franchises have existed, Star Trekand Star Wars
have sparked some of the most intense conflicts that could possibly occur between
nerds. With lightsabers in hand and phasers set to stun, Star Wars and Star Trek
ignite battles at the box office, with critics and among super fans to ultimately
decide which is the most popular. The senior of the two space franchises, Star Trek,
began back in 1966 with Star Trek: The Original Series, starring William Shatner as
Captain Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as Spock. Before the release of Star Wars, Star
Trek: The Original Series was canceled, and an animated series debuted and
canceled, which suggests that early Star Trek had low popularity. Then, in 1977,
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was released, boasting a record breaking box
office, the establishment of an instant fan club, and the title of the highest grossing
film in America. From a purely numerical standpoint, Star Trek and Star Wars each
prove to be more prolific than the other in certain categories. For instance, Star Trek
has debuted seven television series and thirteen films while Star Wars has released
Running Machines For A Machine Shop
If you ve worked in a machine shop at all in the last 30 years, you know that
anytime a machine is set up, the operator is faced with an immeasurable number of
choices. Everything about running machines is about choosing from the many
ways of doing it. There is definitely more than one way to skin a cat when working
in a machine shop. For example, think about one of the most simple machine tools,
the tried and true Bridgeport knee mill. We have all used one, maybe for 5 minutes
to clean an edge or for multiple days building intricate parts. Either way, you may
not have noticed all the choices you had when setting up and running the machine.
Just to clean up that edge there were decisions whether to use a vise or a clamp set.
Or whether to use a power feed or not. Often you subconsciously decide what axis
you will be cutting with, what sort of tool holder to use, and many other physical
factors. One of the hardest decisions to make in all of this is what type of cutter to
use. It seems simple, many operators just grab an end mill; but to achieve a good
quality cut and desired end mill life, there is much more to it. To find out just how
many choices there are, a quick search for ВЅ square end mills at MSC brings up
over 1500 choices. That s a lot of choices! So what do most of us do? Well we grab
one that looks like something that we have used before. But as we all very well
know, doing things the way we ve always done them is anything but the best way to

Death Schone Magelone By Ludwig Tieck
Sind es Schumerzen, sind es Freuden ( are they sorrows or are they joys ) is a song
from Brahms song cycle Romanzen aus L. Tieck s Magelone, Op. 33 No. 3. As
text for his song cycle, Brahms chose excerpts from the novel Die schöne
Magelone by Ludwig Tieck (1773 1853). The novel tells a love story between Peter
von Provence and Magelone, the king s daughter. In this particular song, Peter and
Magelone falls in love with each other. Though Brahms is most widely known as an
instrumental composer, more than half of his opus numbers are devoted to vocal
works. In Brahms song cycles, he avoided the traditional strophic forms. Instead, he
chooses dramatic shifts in music material, unpredictable harmonies, and sudden
changes in tempoand rhythm.
The song starts with an unusually long piano introduction that lasted 8 measures,
gives an idea of the large scale of this song. The rolled chords (mm.1 8) and broken
octaves underneath the beautiful melody suggesting Peter s lute. The vocal line
begins with the expressive melody identical to the beginning of the piano
introduction. It is characterized by embellishments on words sind (to be), busen
(bosom) and wГјnsche (desire). Emphasizing Peter yearning for Magelone s love.
The second stanza is set to the same music as the first stanza, and Brahms even
indicates this with a repeat sign rather than notating the music twice. The harmony of
the verse ends on a half cadence but the chords at the last measure are not rolled,

Summary Of Jules Verne s France

PLACEHOLDER TITLE
Jules Verne, of France, was a prominent author who produced over 60 novels along
with multiple plays and short stories. Verne was born in February of 1828, amidst
the Industrial Revolution, in a port city called Nantes. An environment like this
undoubtedly helped to spark Verne s near unquenchable desire for adventure and
travel, a key component of his life until its end in 1905. However, Jules Verne
experienced his share of bumps and potholes on his road to glory. Verne had
moved to Paris to get a degree in law, but shortly after he ended up working in the
arts even with pressure from his parents to continue his studies. With that door
eventually closing Verne took up a job as a secretary and even a stockbroker to
support himself and his family. Finally finding a stable position, Verne and his
wife took roughly 20 trips to the British Isles, which ended up as a solid source for
writing material. Verne s thirst for adventure reached the point where he bought his
own boat, drawing on his travels all the way from British Isles to the Mediterranean
to create more novels. The novels known as Journey to the Center of the Earth and
From the Earth to the Moon were influenced by Verne s experiences and travels.
Other titles such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seaand Around the World
in Eighty Days added to Verne s prestige. The pinnacle of his fame is tied to his
main series of novels, the 54 belonging
The Little Mermaid Essay And Analysis
People find it hard to figure out what they want. They also have the tendency to
want what they know and also find it difficult to know what they want. This is the
reason to why people struggle to figure out why it is ethically important. In The
Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen, Ariel dreams of nothing more than to
walk on the land above her undersea home. Andersen says, But a mermaid has no
tears, and therefore she suffers so much more (Andersen 10). In today society the
world is so corrupted that people tend to want what they know instead of knowing
what they want. This is because the media has come up with many different ways

The topic of beauty has been studied, analyzed and controversial for centuries.
People all know the feeling one can have when one hears a beautiful song that
brings joy to ones heart, stand in a field of flowers that excites ones eyes, or
admire a face that is visually pleasing. The controversial issue that surrounds
beauty is that some believe that true beauty is defined by someone s outer
appearance, while others believe it is something that is experiences through a
person s character. Beauty is defined as the quality or aggregate of qualities in a
person or thing that gives pleasure to the sense or pleasurably exalts the mind or
spirit. The secret of beauty has been a quest of humans for centuries. It has been
determined that women and some men spend up to one third of their income on
products and procedures that enhance their looks. People spend way too much time
looking in the mirror, scrutinizing, worrying, fretting, and wishing people could
change something about themselves. People dream of looking like the girl at work
because she has great hair, or the girl people meet at a party because she is skinny,
with the perfect nose. This happens because people are constantly on social media.
A pretty face is not a complete definition of beauty, nor is the quality of one being
kind and compassionate. To contain beauty, someone or something does not have to
be physically beautiful. Beauty is everywhere. Take a simple flower.

Essay On Ablooproteinemia
Abetalipoproteinemia (ABL) is a rare inherited disorder affecting fat metabolism.
Abnormal fat metabolism prevents the body from completely absorbing dietary fats,
cholesterol, and fat soluble vitamins. Without treatment, people affected by this
disorder can experience progressive neurological deterioration, muscle weakness,
difficulty walking, and blood abnormalities in which the red blood cells deform
resulting in low levels of circulating red blood cells (anemia). Dietary fats and
vitamins are essential for proper growth and development of various body systems.
Consequently, degeneration of the retina of the eyes may also occur in affected
people. This can potentially result in loss of vision, a condition known as retinitis
pigmentosa.
This disorder is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and is caused by mutations in
the microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP) gene. Beta lipoprotein that work
to carry fats and cholesterol in the blood is missing due to the MTTP gene mutations.
The MTTP gene provides instructions for making microsomal triglyceride transfer
protein, which is essential for creating beta lipoproteins. The mutations in this gene
lead to abnormally short microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, causing the
nutritional and neurological problems. ABL is also called Bassen Kornzweig

First, the story has two great characters: the angel and the woman turned into a

What Is Homer s Mentality Of War In The Iliad
Beneath the Glories of War: A Look into Homer s Underlying Motives
In Greek myth, glory is primarily achieved through the display of a warrior mentality
and valiant military victories. For instance, the esteemed works of Homer tell the
grandiose tales of ancient Greek heroes and their place within the iconic Trojan War.
And although Homer paints vigor in battle as being of the highest attribute, the
argument can be made that his writing is formulated in such a way that it actually
condemns the atrocities of war. The multitude of sorrow and graphic death that
plagues both sides within The Iliad combined with the tragically prolonged
aftermaths of war and the societal corruption found in the Odyssey serve as the
driving forces of the anti war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several descriptions of the grand state of Ithaca before the Trojan War are
contrasted with the corruptive state that exists after the war, primarily in regard to
leadership. For instance, Aegyptus points out that, Not once have we held an
assembly, met in session since King Odysseus sailed away in the hollow ships
(Hom. Od. 2.26 27). Political assembly was a sign of civility and sound leadership
for the Ancient Greeks, so the fact that Ithaca has not had this in nearly twenty
years is telling of how far they have fallen as a result of war. Moreover, because
Odysseus and an entire generation of men went off to war, the younger generation
has no sense of how to act properly. This is made obvious through the fowl behavior
that the suitors constantly exhibit throughout the Odyssey. Upon his return,
Odysseus condemns the suitors by exclaiming, You dogs! You never imagined I d
return from Troy So cocksure that you bled my house to death, ravished my
serving women wooed my wife behind my back while I was still alive! No fear of
the gods who rule the skies up there (Hom. Od. 22.36 40). Odysseus condemnation of
the suitors exposes the lack of maturity and dismal etiquette that characterizes post
war Ithaca. To conclude, the absolute lack of respect that the suitors show Odysseus
family and estate is reason for the

When Odysseus is in trouble he always shows that he is depending on the gods by
praying to them. The fact that the gods usually listen to him shows that he is well
liked by the gods. In order to be a Greek hero you had to be liked by the gods since
religion was such a big part in their lives. Odysseus, with the help of the gods, can
survive adventures that kill most other men. Odysseus travels to the island of the
Cyclopians. The Cyclopians are giants that have one eye, they don t fear the gods
because they believe that they are better than the gods and they eat people. They
represent the opposite of what Greek men should be. Odysseus and his men meet
Polyphemus the Cyclops. Polyphemus being a Cyclops eats some of Odysseus
men. Odysseus with the help of the gods figures out a plan to escape and he does.
Scylla is a ferocious monster with six heads that kills most men that pass by her
island. She kills six of Odysseus men. Odysseus prevents her from killing himself

with monsters called Sirens on it. The Sirens sing beautiful songs that lure ships
toward them. The ships then crash into the island and the people are killed.
What Is The Theme Of For My Daughter By Weldon Ke
For My Daughter by Weldon Kees (1940) Some people come into our life as

describe Weldon Kees poem For My Daughter written in the 1940 s which is the
time of World War II. Throughout this war people have lived in a time when
medicine was not very developed, and frequently children fell upon bad
circumstances because of their situation. You can obviously tell from the opening of
this poem that the speaker is talking about his daughter and certain that his daughter
is basically destined to have a forbidding life with no future. However, in the very

As I began to appreciate the father for coming to his senses and rejecting his
indulgent morbidity, he delivers an unbearable surprise in the very last line that he
does not have a daughter and his desire none. Causing a great deal of confusion, the
speaker unveils his internal conflict regarding a non existing daughter and is
overwhelmed by the thought of having one. On the other hand, it is possible that
the speaker has had a daughter in the past because he starts the poem by saying
Looking into my daughter s eyes (Kees, 384 line 1). Basically, he knows there are
only a few paths that his daughter could take, and all would end up badly. Either
she would be born diseased or end up hating her life. The speaker chooses not to
have a child because he sees nothing but betrayal and misery in his vision of the
future. He chooses to withhold his own procreative urge, viewing it as his own
foreseeable complicity in the suffocation of the unborn generations. It is a very
dark poem and it is possible that this outlook was triggered by Weldon Kees time
which is during World War II. During this time in America having children was very
unsafe for the mothers and the child s. The hospitals and medicines were not what
they are today. Additionally, this poem has many reactions and we did not see the

Persuasive Essay On Family Vacations
Do you need to plan a family vacation, but are uncertain where to start? Family
vacations provide an excellent chance to enjoy some quality time with your loved
ones. The key is to choose the right type of vacation for your particular needs. Here
are some ideas to make your family getaways as special as possible: 1. Beaches.
While the expression life s a beach doesn t always apply, it certainly can if you
choose a trip to the beach as your family vacation. The beach provides plenty of
activities to keep your family busy for a week. The sand and surf seem to create a
magical blend that can relax our minds and bodies. On the beach or in the water
you can swim, surf, fish, build a sandcastle, fly a kite, or collect shells as you take
a stroll. Besides spending time at the beach itself, there s also usually a wide array
of fun activities nearby the beach. That includes mini golf, go carting, golf and
tennis, and so on. 2. Camping. This is an oldie but goodie vacation that can
provide a barrel of fun for you and your family. Besides the camping itself, these
trips can also include activities such as fishing, hiking and horseback riding. You
and your family can enjoy camping trips at various locations, including mountains
and beaches. While camping can provide an outstanding chance for your children to
have fun and learn, the outdoors can create several potential dangers. So it s crucial
for your son or daughter to be aware of these dangers, before you go on your

Joe Hill Magicians
Introduction
Audiences have at all times throughout history been amazed by illusions performed
for them for the purpose of entertainment by the means of magicians. Some of these
magicians include David Copperfield, who made the Statue of Liberty disappear,
Harry Houdini, who was most famous for his escape tricks, and Robert Houdin, who
would read the audience s mind. In spite of the fact that many of these magicians
appear to have done their magic through some supernatural force, in reality, the
magicians use their sleight of hand in order to change the perspective of the audience.

The psychology of magic tricks is also affected from person to person. The
experience of an individual may be different among other individuals based on past
experience and expectations. For example, this article, There s more to magic than
meets the eye includes the illusion of a ball being thrown up; however, the ball
stays in the illusionist s hand. About 68% of people fall for the trick because of
the fact that their expectation is that the ball will go up and their past experience
is the fact that they have seen a ball thrown up numerous times. Furthermore, the
social cuing of the illusionist inspired the social cuing of the audience into
believing the direction of the ball to go up. Consequently, this shows that the
audience of a magician may not all be affected and some may experience no
illusion. In addition, Illusions are based on many things. A good magician uses

history of regularity in the precedence and contiguity of cause and effect. These
rules may be applied to illusions due to the fact that the magician uses the
cooperation of the audience and their sleight of hand. The cause in a simple trick
along the lines of pulling a rabbit is the magician s sleight of hand and the effect
Halloween Make Up Guide Essay
Halloween Make Up Guide Halloween is right around the corner, and you re
probably planning something amazing as a costume. Most likely, that amazing
costume will require a bit more makeup than you are used to using on a regular
basis. It very well might include using makeup on parts of your body that normally
aren t subjected to it as well. If you re anything like most people when it comes to
Halloween makeup, you re probably planning to slather on the grease paint and
deal with consequences the next day. Please don t do that this year. Check out our
guide below to preparing yourself, applying makeup and cleaning up and you re
on your way to a holiday that won t have you dealing with the consequences the
next day. Allow Yourself Time to Prepare Your Skin This is a common mistake.
Depending on the day of the week and whatever else you have going on, it can
almost be a necessity to rush in the door, slap on your makeup, jump into your
costume, and go. Please don t do that. Giving yourself time and your skin the
adequate preparation it needs prior to applying makeup can go along way toward
keeping yourself breakout free on All Saints Day (that s the day after Halloween)....

First of all, your skin will be much smoother than it would ve been otherwise which
will make applying the makeup easier in the first place. Secondly, it ll dramatically
cut down on the amount of dead skin on your face, which will cut down on the
amount of dead skin clogging your pores along with that goopy costume makeup.
As we all know by now blemishes are caused by three things, dead skin, bacteria,
and oil on the skin. If you can eliminate as much of these as possible prior to sealing
your face with a layer of heavy makeup, it ll help cut down on your potential to
breakout
Lust By Susan Minot
It s much easier to openly express sexuality in this current era of social awareness
and change. Many people have been slowly accepting the idea of the reclamation
of a woman s body, possibly due to the wide representation in contemporary media.
However, this still seems like a radical idea to others. Susan Minot s Lust describes
a time when society was near the beginning of sexual liberation. On one spectrum,
there is the narrator a teenage girl attending boarding school, exploring her sexuality
by having all of these experiences with different boys. On the other spectrum is the
narrator s house mother, who s only been with one man her entire life. It s implied
that she believes the sole purpose of sexis to deliver babies. These two... Show more

Only giving the names of the boys that she s encountered implies that she places
more value on them than herself and that the focus on her relationships was mainly
on the boy she was with at the time. However, the way she described what she did
with these boys made it seem like they didn t matter at all. From an outsider s point
of view, it may appear as if the men are in control. From an introspective view, she
was simply using them for her own personal reasons. The narrator describes her
early experiences with boys in a brief, but telling paragraph (269). The brothers
that lived next door to her would mess with her by tying her ankles together and
trapping her in rooms. They would only stop when they got bored. Even back then,
it seemed like boys had power over her. This can be seen as an allusion to her male
relationships now. Although her neighbors would bully her, she could play whiffle
ball just as well as they can. This proves that underneath the different societal
treatment of boys and girls, they re the same and should be regarded in the same
way. As previously stated, the list of her encounters in the beginning of story are not
descriptive at all. There is no emotion behind the words, which leads to the
conclusion that she feels apathetic towards her sexual episodes. It s clear that she s
not doing these things for her own personal enjoyment. She could be doing this to

Si De NiГ±as
El sГ de las niГ±as, written by Leandro FernГЎndez de MoratГn, is a feminist work
for its time. When DoГ±a Francisca has free choice, the play surpasses Spanish social
norms of the nineteenth century. Although prohibited by the Inquisition, this play
explores themes of marriage, female choice, and oppression. Through his writing,
MoratГn uses diГЎlogo, la tensiГіn, las metГЎforas y empatГa to create a satirical
commentary about female social norms inspired by visions of the Enlightenment.
El sГ de las niГ±as was written in 1801 and became a Spanish sensation. Characters
in the story display neoclassicism, represented by their proper demeanor. MoratГn
saw the social institution of Spain as outdated, for a young girl would have to marry
an older man or become a nun. To fight this idea, MoratГn used ... Show more content

The diГЎlogo of Don Diego demonstrates un hombre de bien and un poder ilustrado.
Diego is an honest man who uses la razГіn rather than desire to make decisions. This
is reflected in the dialogue when Diego s explanations demonstrate knowledge, a base
of the Enlightenment. There is also la tensiГіn among the characters, who are always
angry but then calm before a fight erupts. This is evident in the dialogue when a
character is overcome with emotion but returns to their poise without letting it
overcome them. Another element, la metГЎfora, is light. When the scene is lit, either
by candle or sun, it is when Carlos is describing his love for Francisca. This light is lit
by Rita and is symbolic of her job. She helps Francisca see Carlos and protects her
from DoГ±a Irene. The final element MoratГn includes is la empatГa. Rita helps
Francisca and is her voice of reason. Each servant calms their masters to help them
see the truth in chaotic situations. This voice of reason in tumultuous moments is a
true reflection of Neoclassicism in El sГ de las
The History and Future of the Internet Essay
The History and Future of the Internet
Many believe the internet was an over night sensation, that one day, someone
invented the internet and it spread in popularity faster than Tickle Me Elmo or the
Macarena. Although the internet did have a surge of commercial popularity, with the
invention of Mosaic and later with e commerce, it was created many years ago with
the development of military networking technologies. Also, the internet, unlike many
pop culture fads of the nineties, will continue to see a growth in popularity and
usefulness as a form of media throughout the information age. Sure, the internet
became overambitious to the point where many internet start up companies lost their
businesses in the recession of the past few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mosaic, created by Marc Andreessen, is described as the killer application for the
internet. Because it was the first program to provide a slick multimedia graphical
user interface, people had a reason to logon and download their free version of this
monumental application. Mosaic soon turned into Netscape Navigator and the rest is
history (dictionary.com).
Through the internet was original used to support the development of the military
many years ago, it became a commercial commodity in the nineties and into the new
millennium. The internet grew and grew as an explosion of people logging on and
creating their own personal website. Companies could advertise their products,
people could freely send emails; there was no limit or bounds to its never ending
content. Competition between internet providers increased the speed of the internet
from dial up to DSL/Cable to Ethernet. However, despite an enormous increase in
availability and internet traffic in the early years of the new millennium, a decrease
in consumer confidence saw to the death of many start up companies. It was hard to
keep up with the expansion of the internet during its turbulent growth in the late
nineties. Many companies that started a retail or service business made a lot of
money in a short amount of time and then lost it all. This volatile market saw the
quick decline in the consumers loyalty in internet
Tangerine Character Analysis
Someone has to pay for Erik s humiliation at the football game because they messed
up his plan. Throughout the book Tangerine, Erik s character shows a person who
is tough and doesn t like his plan to be messed up and to be humiliated. When Erik
and Mike had their first encounter, Erik said Coach Warner knows what I can do. He
can send anyone out there to kick a field goal. When I go out there, it ll be the coach
s call. (Bloor 21) Erik had a plan of being a goal making placekicker. Yet, someone
messed it up, making him look like a fool. Erik wants to get his revenge. His
character also shows him as the type of person that does what he has to do, and no
one should get in his way. He will do anything to get his way. When Mike Costello

Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Beloved
In her novel Beloved, Toni Morrison utilizes a circular narrative to emphasize the
similarities, or lack thereof, between her characters. In Philip Page s article,
Circularity in Toni Morrison s Beloved, he writes, The plot is developed through
repetition and variation of one or more core images in overlapping waves... And it is
developed through... the spiraling reiteration of larger, mythical acts such as birth,
death, rebirth, quest journeys, and the formation and disintegration of families (36).
By repeating certain themes or images, Page asserts that Morrison is able to develop
her plot in a manner that emphasizes the ways in which the institution of slaveryhas
transformed Sethe s life. From escaping slavery and killing her daughter, to becoming
a recluse in her community, slavery has transformed how Sethe thinks and acts, even
after reaching freedom. Through her circular narrative, Morrison highlights the
similarities between Sethe and Belovedas each is hoping to find a new life as they
arrive at 124 Bluestone Road. However, this narrative also enhances the inherent
differences between Sethe and Beloved, Sethe s actions are usually based on a
selfless desire, whereas Beloved can only selfishly consume. With these similar and
contrasting qualities, Morrison is able to describe the complex nature of Sethe and
Beloved s relationship.
In her novel Beloved, Toni Morrisonfrequently uses a circular narrative in order to
demonstrate the parallels between Sethe and
Racial Profiling Against Hispanics And Hispanics Essay
Racial Profiling Against Hispanics Racial profiling is the use of race or ethnicity as
grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offense. Racial profiling
against Hispanics includes people from North American, South American and
Central Americans. Examples of racial profiling against Hispanics are being
identified by the color of their skin, which the majority of skin tone is brown but not
all some may be a different color and are Hispanics. Sadly, Hispanic identity is only
defined by the color of skin and are targeted and threatened with deportation and
thinking that everyone are all illegal immigrants and discriminating with hurtful
words that express that they do not belong here in the United States, even though
some were born in the United States. Also supposedly that Hispanics are taking
everyone s job, but it is usually people who think that and that say that, are the
people who can get a job but do not want to or cannot get a job, so they just blame
the Hispanics. Hispanic are the easy targeted raceand stereotype are made about
them, by only referring Hispanics as illegal immigrant which is not because there
is other immigrants who migrated to the United States and are here illegally and
society does not refer them as illegal immigrants. Also it leads to being arrested
unfairly for no reason, just because he or she was Hispanic. In Arizona which
already has accepted racial profiling against Hispanics that has made the law passed
which is called SB1070.
Self-Reliance
Sanaya Williams PH 221 Professor Bradley Final Paper Ralph Waldo Emerson Self
Reliance Self Reliance is considered one of Ralph Waldo Emerson s best known
essays. The essay was first published in 1841 in his collection, Essays: First Series.
This essay contains the most thorough statement of Emerson s emphasis on the need
for individuals to avoid conformity and false consistency, and instead follow their
own instincts and ideas. This essay shows Emerson s ways for making and
translating classical philosophy and turning it to comprehensible language, and
signifying its relevance to everyday life. It is broken into three sections: the value of
and barriers to self reliance, self reliance and the individual, and self reliance and...

Self reliance has the word self in it, so everything is about you how you realize and
accept that you are responsible for everything in your life and if you want
something done, you must do it yourself. Characteristics for being self reliant
come from within, being self dependent, and self deprived. Having the ability to
listen to themselves and follow their own intuition. This Emerson essay is by far
my favorite because it is so realistic. I think many people can benefit from reading
this, because it is an essential in life to be self reliant. This essay is compelling
because it opens your eyes to what self reliance really is and how it relates to
society. Emerson is stating for self realization, and how you do not need
acceptance from society to be yourself. He writes, What I must do, is all that
concerns me, not what the people think. Following that statement, he goes on
saying to be as independent as possible in our beliefs. Meaning if one is not
independent is his/her own belief how would they know who they are, if you are
unknown to yourself, how could we be known to anyone else. Know yourself and
then let other know you. If they can accept you for who you are without trying to
change you then they are worthy of your affections and if they cannot accept you,
leave them alone. Concluding Self Reliance, Emerson leaves the readers with

The Kyoto Protocol In Canada
On December 15, 2011, the Government of Canada authoritatively told the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that Canada would
practice its legitimate right to formally pull back from the Kyoto Protocol. The
Environment Minister, Peter Kent, was the one who announced this. The Kyoto
Protocolis an international agreement connected to the UNFCCC that sets
internationally binding greenhouse gasreduction targets for each country that is in
the agreement. There are a lot of benefits as to why Canada should stay in the
agreement, but at the same time there are a few complications and setbacks that we
will have to face as well. Canada will reduce the amount of greenhouse gases, save
money and create jobs, and reduce drastic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The UNFCCC should implement better ways for all nations to eventually fall
under the 1990 emissions levels. Working slowly towards the goal is a better way
to approach the problem rather than giving the nations targets that are very hard to
achieve in the first place. Canada had the responsibility to fall 6% below the 1990
emissions levels, but instead went 23.4. Which basically means, for example, if a
nation had a target of 10%, but actually increased emissions by 10%, the score
would be 20, if it was 5% and the nation went 15% under, then the score is 10.
Canada went 23.4 which was the worst score out of all the other nations within the
agreement at the time. In any case, it was verifiably a vital initial phase in
worldwide climate diplomacy. The question is whether a more aspiring second step
will follow so as to stay away from unsatisfactory dangers of destroying

WORK INTRODUCTION Theoretically, mammoths could be cloned by recovering,
reconstructing or synthesizing viable mammoth DNA and injecting it into the egg
cell of a modern elephant whose nuclear DNA has been removed; alternatively,
mammoth genetic material could be introduced into an elephant genome in order to
create a mammothelephant hybrid or chimera. The possibility of bringing extinct
animals back to life has fascinated people for years. While something like Jurassic
Park is unlikely, Pleistocene Park just got one step closer to becoming a reality. One
day, mammoths may walk the Earth again.
The first step is to begin to understand the creature humanity wants to return to the
world. A woolly mammoth, also known as Mammuthus ... Show more content on

If the insertion is successful, then the eggs will be placed in an adult elephant and
brought to term. While it is unclear in how successful this team has been, it is clear
that as research in cloning, reproductive biology, genetics, and the spread of
information have increased, so has the likelihood of successfully cloning a mammoth.
Many of the different benefits and reasons also come from a more ethical and moral
code rather than just for pure science. Resurrecting a mammoth could also undo their
extinction, due to prehistoric humans nearly eleven thousand years ago. Some would
argue that humans have a moral obligation to re introduce species whose extinction
they caused, either directly, as is probably in the case of the mammoth, or indirectly,
as a result of another factor such as global climatic disruption. The value of bringing
back mammoths may come from the need to satisfy intrinsic human curiosity.
However, creating or re creating different life forms may also be of great instrumental
value to humanity, such as in the blocking the emergence of pathogens, or in helping
to ensure the continued existence of life on the planet.
Over the years, there have been a multitude of organizations that have been working
to improve the life quality if a mammoth were to ever reappear in the world. One of
these places, Pleistocene Park, has a goal to restore
Preservation Digital Art Analysis
Preservation The Preservation is a digital art piece that demonstrates several different
meanings. This piece invokes fear and discomfort by exhibiting how oil, gas and
chemical industries are destroying the earth and humanity with pollution and toxin.
The artist uses two arms to represent the way of life. One side presents a beautiful,
pure, and an unharmed world, and the other shows darkness, death, the destruction of
earth, and how it is taking over. This piece of art is aimed towards the oil, gas and
chemical industries. The Preservation is on the Deviantart.com, created by

Also, how it displays the overpowering of death, destruction, and darkness. This
piece of digital art can be compared to a similar painting on Italianrenaissance.org,
The Creation of Adam, a painting in the Sistine Chapel created by Michelangelo in
1512. In this work, God s right arm is outstretched to reveal the spark of life from his
own finger into that of Adam, whose left arm is extended in a position reflecting
God s, a reminder that man is formed in the reflection and resemblance of God.
Another point is that Adam s finger and God s finger are not touching. It gives the
sense that God, the provider of life, is extending out to Adam who has yet to
accept it. In the preservation piece the two arms represent humanity, and the left
arm is covered with earth and all living creations of God. The right arm is covered
by a world full of fire, burning from the inside out. Another point is the left side has
blue skies showing a sign tranquility, relaxation, and peace, with white clouds. The
color white is to represent Innocence and purity. While the right has, black smoke
filled clouds coming from a refinery created by man, black shows to absorb all
aspects of light and signify power, and fear. Looking at the two hands with the
fingers extended out the right hand shows the pointer finger soaked and dripping oil

Jurassic Park Ethical Issues
The fourth film in the Jurassic Park series was released the summer of 2015, 22 years
after the first movie, Jurassic Park, was released. Movie goers had long awaited a
reprisal of the series and flocked to the theaters. As of the end of the June, the
newest movie in the franchise had already grossed nearly $507 million in North
America alone and had a worldwide total of well over a billion dollars.
The overall concept of the movie is a theme park where dinosaurs come to life. Of
course, everything possible goes wrong, as it will when you mess with mother
nature. If you haven t yet seen the movie, not only should you see it, but you can
learn a lot about how to manage (and not manage) your blog from this film.

What you can learn from the movie is that there is a natural order to things. For

Instead, remember that there is a process to interacting with other bloggers. You

and you shouldn t ask people to come to your site. Instead, include a link if the blog

Rap Music And The Music Industry
Rap music led to more black professionals in the music industry. Rap can be traced
back to its African roots. Before rap stories were told rhythmically over drums and
instruments. This era was known as the golden age of rap. Rap did and has
changed the face of music for the better. Old school flows were relatively basic and

techniques and rhyme schemes. There are different variations of flow, such as the
syncopated bounce which was used by the bone thugs N harmony, straight forward
which was used by 2pac and ice cube, the Rubik s cube which was used by common
and kurrupt, and 2 5 flow used by camp mulla. MC s use many different rhyming
methods including rhyme schemes, there is also widespread use of multisymbalic
rhymes used by big daddy Kane and Eminem. Gangsta rap has been protested and
contested by parents politicians alike. All music guide traces controversial nature
of rap music to a 1986 run DMC concert, where gang violence occurred. Rap is an
expression of black lives and the struggles that we go through. Many people
frowned upon rap for its vulgar language and frankness. Rap music made people
socially conscious of surrounding struggles. Gangs and violence were a huge roll in
struggles and depression. Early rappers intended to shed light on inner city

My First Job Essay

  • 1. My First Job Essay Crafting an essay about my first job may seem like a straightforward task at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of the experience unveils a nuanced challenge. The difficulty lies not in the lack of personal anecdotes or memories associated with that initial foray into the professional realm, but rather in the delicate balance required to convey both the tangible and intangible aspects of the journey. The challenge is to transcend the mere narration of events and delve into the introspective realm, exploring the emotional nuances, lessons learned, and personal growth that accompanied the transition from a novice to a contributing member of the workforce. Striking the right chord between sincerity and engaging storytelling, while avoiding the trap of turning the essay into a mere chronological recollection, adds another layer of complexity. Furthermore, the task involves weaving a narrative that resonates with the audience, evoking empathy, relatability, or even inspiration. This requires a keen understanding of the target readership and an adept use of language to captivate and hold their attention. The challenge intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between humility and self- promotion. Articulating achievements and skills acquired without sounding boastful requires finesse, as the essay should showcase personal development without devolving into a mere brag sheet. In essence, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of my first job lies in the nuanced dance between narrative and reflection, emotion and analysis, humility and confidence. Crafting an essay that is not only descriptive but also insightful, not merely personal but universally resonant, demands a meticulous approach to language, structure, and tone. And as the endeavor of essay writing unfolds, one might find the need for external support or guidance. If the task seems overwhelming, it's worth noting that resources are available to assist in navigating this intricate process. Whether seeking examples, guidance, or even professional assistance, there are platforms like HelpWriting.net where similar essays and much more can be explored or ordered to make the writing journey a smoother one. • 2. What Intimate Relationship Between Transparent Logic,... Japanese autodidact modernist architect Tadao Ando, explores the intimate relationship between transparent logic, abstraction, nature and place through the study of material and form and the interaction between the everyday human life and it s surrounding in his architecture. The interplay of these elements are evident through his body of work especially his residential Koshino House and Extension project. His broad depth in understanding the inherent fundamental human needs and his close study of famous modernist architects such as Le Corbusierand Frank Lloyd Wright has resulted in his prevailing success. I create architectural order on the basis of geometry... and in this way to develop a theory of parts that is founded on the sensibility of the Japanese people . As a child growing up in front of a wood workshop, being fascinated by what he saw, at the age of 10 17 Ando became an apprentice, learning to create wooden models and the skills of a carpenter. There he discovered the beauty of the balance between a form and the material it is made of. However it was not until he was 18, when he discovered a book about Le Corbusier and began to travel and analyse traditional and contemporary architecture in Japan, Europe and the United States, he came to understand these relationships in actual architecture as an entire physical being. (pritzker prize). His visit to the Pantheon in Rome and Le Corbusier s Гљnite d Habitation flourished his own understanding of spatial

James Montier argues that, while the algebra of DCF is simple, neat and compelling, the implementation becomes a minefield of problems . He cites, in particular, problems with estimating cash flows and estimating discount rates. Despite the issues, DCF analysis is very widely used and is perhaps the primary valuation tool amongst the financial analyst community. 2.2. Terminal Value Terminal Value, in simple term, is the value of a company with an infinite row of constant future cash flows. To arrive at a total company value, or enterprise value, we simply have to take the present value of the cash flows and the Terminal value, divide them by the discount rate and, finally, add up the results. If we are discounting free cash flow of the firm at the weighted average cost of capital, this would give the value of the firm, so it would be necessary to deduct net debt in order to arrive at the equity value. In this report, simply use FCF in the year of 2011 to compare the value of the firm to the stock price in the year end of 2011. 2.3. Weighted Average Cost of Capital The Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the discount rate used in a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis to present value projected free cash flows and terminal value.
  • 5. Hills Like White Elephants Symbolism Throughout the course of each person s life, the journey for life appreciation is tested. Many paths are taken to find the value of it, but when found, it includes the decisions of choosing what s valuable. Ernest Hemingway Hills like White Elephants is a short story that reveals people s unseen appreciation for life. As suggested by the title this literary story fits into sub genre realistic fiction, showing people s different approaches for appreciation. Taking place in 1927, this story focuses on a young couple who face a big decision in their relationship. On their trip towards Madrid, they stop at a junction to pause and reflect on their choices. In this story the use of symbolism is used to expose Jig s appreciation of life by identifying herself with a scenic view. The theme of this story is revealed by her portraying her sentiments towards nature. Hemingway uses symbolism of nature to reveal Jig s appreciation for life. This can be seen when he writes They re lovely hills she said (222) exposing to the reader that this character is a person who connects with nature and as well as with the child she is bearing. • 6. The Ten Year Cultural Revolution The ten year Cultural Revolution, in essence, was a political power struggle inside of the CCP, and as Mao died on September 9 1976, the Gang of Four was arrested soon on October 10. Since Mao s successor Hua Guofeng was politically weak, Deng Xiaoping came back to power. Though the new leaders tried to help China recover from the revolution and rebuild the economic systems, the influences of the revolution did not vanish quickly. The Party had to deal with the mistakes that Mao made during the revolution, make the resolution on the revolution, and formulated the new road that the country should follow. Other than the political struggles that the Party faced, the society also created troubles. The intellectuals, especially the sent down youths who illegally came back to cities, were excited and looking forward to a democratic government, and they again started to criticize the government and commented on the politics just like their predecessors did in the Hundred Flowers Campaign. However, this situation did not satisfy Deng, who emphasized that the correct line for China was to insist the absolute principle of the Party (Meisner, 457), and he then decided to consolidate his power. In general, though Cultural Revolution ended, the political struggles that it represented never stopped, and would be continued for years. Meinser points out that Mao did construct the country and lead its people to reach many striking successes, including building a modern nation state,
  • 7. Chupacabra Research Paper There are some people who inaccurately believe that sightings of the chupacabra date back to the 1970s, but the chupacabras first sighting report did not come until 1995 in Puerto Rico. The chupacabra seemingly suddenly sprang into existence and no one knows for sure why or how the chupacabra came to be. The chupacabra had a zenith of about five years, when it was wide ly reported in Mexico, Chile, Nicaragua, Spain, Brazil, Argen tina, and Florida among other places (Radford Tracking). In Hawley, Texas there was a report of a goat man and they called it The Hawley Goat Man. The strange thing about this is that in the report of the goat man in mentioned a creature covered in scales and fur, which bears little resemblance to most re ports of the chupacabra, this alleged encounter happened near Fort Worth which is over 160 miles east of Hawley (Radford Texas).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many different de scriptions of the chupacabra from the several sightings of them, but none of them have been confirmed, the one that is most common and considered to be the original of these de scriptions is that it is a bipedal creature with long legs and arms, stands about three to five feet tall, has a large oval shaped head, alien wrap around eye, and a distinctive row of spikes going down the creatures spine. The creature known as the chupacabra is thought to be a fox, possum, raccoon chime ra, an organism that is a combination of multiple different organisms, in the 1950s. People have said to have seen it suck the blood out of small animals and livestock (Radford mys tery ). • 9. Nietzsche Slave Morality The slave mortality presented by Nietzsche in his Genealogy of Morals is prevalent within modern literature. The dark effects of this morality have crept far beyond the general view of the elite class and into our writing. This is not much of a surprise since literature reflects the world and our view of the world within it. Unfortunately, its impact on our society is shown by its prevalence within modern writing. This morality allows the author to focus on the evilenemy (Nietzsche 39) instead of the good within humanity. This obsession with the negativity within the world has become a theme within humanities writing. Every good story must have some conflict some evil that is tearing at the good and often innocent. The problem with the slave morality is not its existence but its prevalence. This is where Nietzsche observations have some reality. It is true that the slave mentality is widespread and that thousands of years have made it hard to look past such a mentality but Nietzsche argument that it started with the jews is questionable at best. The mythology that comes long before the influence of Judeo Christian influence spread throughout the western world and it always has monsters or evil royalty that must be destroyed. The hero is good because they are not monsters and because they remove the monsters. The monsters are just like the birds of prey the truth is that entirety of the human race was a lamb. That mentality allowed us to survive the treacherous world and eventually change it to fit our purpose. In order to achieve this humankind has to take as much as they could that way our frail bodies could survive. This take still has a place in the culture that we face today and in a lot of ways it has no place. Both of the plays The Good Woman of Setzuan by Bertolt Brecht and Trifles by Susan Glaspell depict worlds that are full of evil. In Trifles, a woman murders her husband and two of her friends justify it by using the slave s morality. He took away her

Furthermore, it can be a guide to be successful in the company as employee and it helped me understand that I must be well acquainted with the code to become a professional businessman. I went through Googles and Coca Cola s codes of conduct. Google s values are to ensure financial integrity and responsibility, to serve users, and to obey the law. Google states that its core valuehas always been to spend money wisely because Google believes all appropriate actions based on Google s asset makes up trust to shareholders, company and users. Don t be evil. This is a one slogan Googlers have in their mind when they serve users. It is about providing every user with unprejudiced information, concentrating on users needs, and offering best service. Obeying the law, such as competition laws and anti bribery laws, this is what Google is entirely responsible for. If they violate, there might be considerable loss to Google. Coca Cola values Quality, Integrity, and Passion. I think the principal reason Coca Cola became extremely famous is the quality of product Coke itself is an outstanding invention. Integrity of Coca Cola can be demonstrated by its unstained policy. Coca Cola makes their product without any commercial trouble and appropriate cost of product. Passion is what Coca Cola seems to value much. Coca Cola encourages its

  • 12. My Challenging Week It has been customary for me to begin these entries with words of how interesting it has been, and unfortunately, nothing has changed. I have had a very challenging and interesting week. It started off with trivial car issues. My car broke down and I have been renting a car since last Saturday. Sunday the Men s Choir at the Church celebrated their 18th Anniversary. I was asked by one of the members if I could stay until the program. I had already planned to go home, take a nap, and then return, but when he asked I felt compelled to stay. I stayed at the Church form 9:00 7:00 pm. They had over 12 guest choirs to come and each choir sang two selections. I thoughtI would take advantage of this opportunity to mingle with the people and Mrs. Walls was one of the first I encountered. As she sat down next to me I could tell immediately by her star glasses and wrap on her head that she was flamboyant outwardly as well as inwardly. I told her I liked her glasses and how unique they were and she responded, I know, if anyone else wore these they would look stupid. They only look good on me. I smiled trying to contain my laughter. She then went on to talk and throughout the course of the conversation, I heard many words of anger, frustration, and hurt projected towards the members of the church. I looked at this as the perfect opportunity inject myself as preacher/teacher. Taking from Willimon; you have to set the message of a gospel of love. (205) extracting from

According to Vermeir and Sompel, the stereotype explains the positive evaluation of attractive movie characters and advertising models by the audience. In movies, attractiveness of a character is often strongly associated with moral goodness, higher levels of romantic activity, better life outcomes, and higher centrality to the plot and weakly related to higher intelligence and slightly lower levels of aggression for both male and female models. (Vermeir and Sompel, 2014) In addition, according to Vermeir and Sompel, people are more likely to agree with attractive individuals more so than those that are less attractive. However, if the presenter s attractiveness level is very high, than their physical attractiveness will lead to social comparison jealousy of the receiver and will negatively affect the liking of the ad and the product being presented. As predicted by evolutionary theory, the positive effect of a presenter s attractiveness on liking of the ad is even stronger when female receivers see the male presenter (opposite sex) than when male receivers see the male presenter (same sex). (Praxmarer, 2011) Narrative Paradigm Theory The narrative paradigm theory stresses the effectiveness of influence through narration, which is persuasion through storytelling. This means that advertisements use storytelling to persuade which is highly used in the Superbowl ads. When the narrative used appears to flow smoothly, makes sense and is believable it is said to have narrative coherence. In addition, when the narrative used in persuasion looks like it is honest, and aligns with our own experiences, we can say there is narrative fidelity. In order to accept a narrative as believable, a person must perceive the narrative s fidelity first, because without fidelity, coherence does not matter. Advertising can assume the form of either arguments or narratives. Argumentative advertising tends to present fact based information that persuades through logical arguments and lectures, whereas narrative advertising tells a story about product consumption or related experiences or

Federalist No. 78, also written by Hamilton, lays the groundwork for the doctrine of judicial review by federal courts of federal legislation or executive acts. Weakness Once governments saw the potential for victory for its political gain, the chaplaincy began to weaken and divide. For example, the War in England as written in pamphlets described the role of the chaplain during that time. Their job in this role was to sustain men who had to face their neighbors in a war over political and religious differences. [3] Some chaplains were used to control the spread of heterodox religious views, while others left the military in pursuit of doing what is right, and preaching the true message of God. This departure from the military added to the weakness of the chaplaincy. Another weakness, chaplains were wrongly accused or labeled as evil, when it fact, laymen were the culprits. It was laymen such as Henry Denne and Paul Hobson who gave the army a reputation for radical sectarianism; the further association of religious radicals with the chaplains was almost entirely independent of the chaplains themselves[4]. Opportunities Valuable lessons learned about chaplains during this given time period is that the need to administer God in truth to all people provided a means of opportunity for the chaplaincy. When shortages of chaplains occurred, governments selected priests with no military affiliation. And for chaplains who stayed behind in their parishes, governments imposed special instructions as well. For example, Benedict the Levite insisted that clerics celebrate masses, carry out

Music was also used to give hints as to the actions of Eva. As Eva was frantically searching Kevin s room, the song In My Room by The Beach Boys began playing. The blues song contained lyrics such as, There s a world where I can go and tell my secrets to In my room, in my room. In this world I lock out all my worries and my fears. For example, think about one of the most simple machine tools, the tried and true Bridgeport knee mill. We have all used one, maybe for 5 minutes to clean an edge or for multiple days building intricate parts. Either way, you may not have noticed all the choices you had when setting up and running the machine. Just to clean up that edge there were decisions whether to use a vise or a clamp set. Or whether to use a power feed or not. Often you subconsciously decide what axis you will be cutting with, what sort of tool holder to use, and many other physical factors. One of the hardest decisions to make in all of this is what type of cutter to use. It seems simple, many operators just grab an end mill; but to achieve a good quality cut and desired end mill life, there is much more to it. To find out just how many choices there are, a quick search for ВЅ square end mills at MSC brings up over 1500 choices. That s a lot of choices! So what do most of us do? Abnormal fat metabolism prevents the body from completely absorbing dietary fats, cholesterol, and fat soluble vitamins. Without treatment, people affected by this disorder can experience progressive neurological deterioration, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, and blood abnormalities in which the red blood cells deform resulting in low levels of circulating red blood cells (anemia). Moreover, because Odysseus and an entire generation of men went off to war, the younger generation has no sense of how to act properly. This is made obvious through the fowl behavior that the suitors constantly exhibit throughout the Odyssey. Upon his return, Odysseus condemns the suitors by exclaiming, You dogs! You never imagined I d return from Troy So cocksure that you bled my house to death, ravished my serving women wooed my wife behind my back while I was still alive! No fear of the gods who rule the skies up there (Hom. Od. 22.36 40). Odysseus condemnation of the suitors exposes the lack of maturity and dismal etiquette that characterizes post war Ithaca. To conclude, the absolute lack of respect that the suitors show Odysseus family and estate is reason for the

It is an epic poem or story told of a hero name Odysseus on a 20 year voyage trying to get back home from the Trojan War. The great epic poem known as The Odyssey and attributed to Homer was probably first written down around the eighth century BC, but the origins of the ancient story in myth, legend, and folklore and art appear to be much older. In order to be a Greek hero you had to be liked by the gods since religion was such a big part in their lives. Odysseus, with the help of the gods, can survive adventures that kill most other men. Odysseus travels to the island of the Cyclopians. The Cyclopians are giants that have one eye, they don t fear the gods because they believe that they are better than the gods and they eat people. They represent the opposite of what Greek men should be. Odysseus and his men meet Polyphemus the Cyclops. Polyphemus being a Cyclops eats some of Odysseus men. Odysseus with the help of the gods figures out a plan to escape and he does. Scylla is a ferocious monster with six heads that kills most men that pass by her island. She kills six of Odysseus men. Odysseus prevents her from killing himself and more men. There is another ferocious monster named Charybdis. Charybdis sucks in water from the sea and creates a whirlpool that kills any ship that passes by. Odysseus passes by her. His crew is killed and his ship is destroyed in the whirlpool but Odysseus alone survives. There is an island that Odysseus passes by with monsters called Sirens on it. The Sirens sing beautiful songs that lure ships toward them. The ships then crash into the island and the people are killed.

These words from Mother Theresa describe Weldon Kees poem For My Daughter written in the 1940 s which is the time of World War II. Throughout this war people have lived in a time when medicine was not very developed, and frequently children fell upon bad circumstances because of their situation. You can obviously tell from the opening of this poem that the speaker is talking about his daughter and certain that his daughter is basically destined to have a forbidding life with no future. As I began to appreciate the father for coming to his senses and rejecting his indulgent morbidity, he delivers an unbearable surprise in the very last line that he does not have a daughter and his desire none. Causing a great deal of confusion, the speaker unveils his internal conflict regarding a non existing daughter and is overwhelmed by the thought of having one. On the other hand, it is possible that the speaker has had a daughter in the past because he starts the poem by saying Looking into my daughter s eyes (Kees, 384 line 1). Basically, he knows there are only a few paths that his daughter could take, and all would end up badly. Either she would be born diseased or end up hating her life. The speaker chooses not to have a child because he sees nothing but betrayal and misery in his vision of the future. He chooses to withhold his own procreative urge, viewing it as his own foreseeable complicity in the suffocation of the unborn generations. It is a very dark poem and it is possible that this outlook was triggered by Weldon Kees time which is during World War II. During this time in America having children was very unsafe for the mothers and the child s. The hospitals and medicines were not what they are today. Additionally, this poem has many reactions and we did not see the bitterness until the end. I see sadness and a longing for a child from

Some of these magicians include David Copperfield, who made the Statue of Liberty disappear, Harry Houdini, who was most famous for his escape tricks, and Robert Houdin, who would read the audience s mind. In spite of the fact that many of these magicians appear to have done their magic through some supernatural force, in reality, the magicians use their sleight of hand in order to change the perspective of the audience. The experience of an individual may be different among other individuals based on past experience and expectations. For example, this article, There s more to magic than meets the eye includes the illusion of a ball being thrown up; however, the ball stays in the illusionist s hand. About 68% of people fall for the trick because of the fact that their expectation is that the ball will go up and their past experience is the fact that they have seen a ball thrown up numerous times. Furthermore, the social cuing of the illusionist inspired the social cuing of the audience into believing the direction of the ball to go up. Consequently, this shows that the audience of a magician may not all be affected and some may experience no illusion. In addition, Illusions are based on many things. A good magician uses The Cooperative Principle . This law basically states that the cause precedes the effect in time, cause and effect are contiguous in time and place, and there is a history of regularity in the precedence and contiguity of cause and effect. These rules may be applied to illusions due to the fact that the magician uses the cooperation of the audience and their sleight of hand. Many people have been slowly accepting the idea of the reclamation of a woman s body, possibly due to the wide representation in contemporary media. However, this still seems like a radical idea to others. Susan Minot s Lust describes a time when society was near the beginning of sexual liberation. On one spectrum, there is the narrator a teenage girl attending boarding school, exploring her sexuality by having all of these experiences with different boys. However, the way she described what she did with these boys made it seem like they didn t matter at all. From an outsider s point of view, it may appear as if the men are in control. From an introspective view, she was simply using them for her own personal reasons. The narrator describes her early experiences with boys in a brief, but telling paragraph (269). The brothers that lived next door to her would mess with her by tying her ankles together and trapping her in rooms. They would only stop when they got bored. Even back then, it seemed like boys had power over her. This can be seen as an allusion to her male relationships now. Although her neighbors would bully her, she could play whiffle ball just as well as they can. This proves that underneath the different societal treatment of boys and girls, they re the same and should be regarded in the same way. As previously stated, the list of her encounters in the beginning of story are not descriptive at all. There is no emotion behind the words, which leads to the conclusion that she feels apathetic towards her sexual episodes. It s clear that she s not doing these things for her own personal enjoyment.
