Designing A New Computer System
Case Study 1
Three friends have asked me to configure a new computer for each one of them. The first one is a
gamer, and she needs a competitive gaming system. Another wants to purchase a computer for her
home office where she has a small travel agency company, and the third would like a notebook or
laptop computer that he can use for schoolwork. Each one of my friends has a $2000.00 budget to
create the perfect computer system for each of their needs. First, we will create the perfect gaming
system for my friend in need. With the gaming system we will be starting from scratch. First things
first, obtain an AMD FX6350 6 core processor. It is able to run games at high settings, and there is not
much difference between AMD s and Intel s in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two have been tested against one another, and honestly there is really not much different between
the two in game playing performances. However, the SSD has proven to be drastically faster than the
HD. I am going to go with the SSD with this gaming system because it loads faster, transitioning maps
throughout the game is significantly faster, and overall it means that your computer will boot at a
significantly faster. Overall one would have a better experience because it makes the overall
functionality of the computer better as a whole. The Samsung 840 EVO 240 GB would be a great one
to choose. It can be found for $129.99. It is a little on the pricey side, but it will be well worth it. Next
we need to configure a reliable computer system for my friend that has a small, at home travel agency.
With this system I would also recommend buying an already made system, and perhaps doing a few
upgrades. Dell has the OptiPlex 3020 Micro which is a descent system for an at home business. It
comes with an Intel Pentium G3240T Processor which is dual core with HD Graphics. This dual core
processor has plenty of horsepower to work with for a small business, so there is really no need in
upgrading this to a quad core processor. It will allow you to answer e mails while running Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the Web browser. It also comes with 4 gigabytes of RAM, and

Blood Spatter
The understanding of blood spatter patterns is not a widely recognized forensic practice. Bloodstain
pattern interpretation (BPI) is commonly used in murder investigations, but could be utilized in
everything from simple assault to mass murders if the number of trained professionals increased. BPI
can reveal critical information into reinventing a given crime scene. Everything from the number of
blows, stabs or shots a victim was given, the movement that was undergone by the victim and
assailant after bloodshed began, position of objects at the crime scene and the type of weapon, if any,
that was used can be uncovered. Blood differs from water in that it is a less viscous liquid. The
teardrop that is formed by rain is not formed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is flung off the weapon or tool during and after the act as a result of centrifugal force. Cast off
spatter is often elliptical in shape which is why it is easily confused with arterial spurting (Sutton,
1998). However, it can also resemble a typical medium velocity droplet any time the blood hits a
surface. For example, a blow to the top of the head with an over head strike or simply cast off forming
from blood dripping off a weapon after use will result in a similar pattern to a medium or low velocity
droplet. Smooth metallic weaponry used will generate a more profound pattern than a textured
weapon. In other words an aluminum baseball bat will yield a greater amount of cast off blood than a
wooden baseball bat. All these elements are important in uncovering the truth behind a crime scene,
and in a controlled environment seem simple. Implementing these techniques in an actual situation is
more difficult as crime scenes are all unique. A multitude of elements need to be considered before
forming an opinion from blood spatter. Spot size, quantity, shape, distribution, location, AOI, and
target surface are only a few of these elements. As with other types of forensic science negative
evidence can be used in BPI. Void is the absence of blood spatter in an otherwise continuous pattern.
This leads evidence leads us to believe that an object or person has blocked the blood from striking the
surface observed. Judging from

Heroin And Its Effects On The Brain
Heroin, a chemical imposter, is an illegal, extremely addictive drug derived from opium. Heroin can
reach the brain by methods of injection, nasal inhalation, or smoked. In our brain there are many
receptor sites, each site specific for different neurotransmitters. In this paper I will refer to the opiate
receptor. Naturally, our brain is responsible for making endorphins, a natural opiate of the body. These
endorphins are the feel good chemical sensations in the brain, when we are exposed to pain or stress.
Heroin mimics the opium chemical, creating the effect of pleasure and euphoric feelings. I will look
into how heroin affects the cerebral cortex and how different genders perceive and treat the effects of
heroin. The opiates in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The opioid is synthesized from morphine, and when entering the brain, heroin is converted back to
morphine. Upon entering, the once opioid, now morphine, binds to opioid receptors, specifically in the
brainstem. The brainstem is vital for controlling automatic processes vital for life, like blood pressure,
arousal, and respiration. These processes are how we continue to live; heroin use and overdose can
then lead to death by suppression of these vital life processes, such as suppression of breathing
(National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2014). While heroin undoubtedly affects our processes of living, it
also interrupts our sensations and perceptions. Users describe the feeling of heroin as a euphoric or
rush feeling. This rush reportedly last one to two minutes, where the actual high lasts hours. Other
sensations associated with heroin are reduction of anxiety and depression, safe and warm feelings, and
pain relief (Hartney, 2014). While heroin affects sensations, it also changes motor functions, such as
reaction times. In a study I examined, experimenters tested reaction times in heroin abusers of
different genders. In the experiment, researchers formulated two groups, one control and the other
heroin dependent currently in a withdrawal period; researchers choose participants specifically on
certain guidelines. For the experiment, participants were asked to focus on a visual stimulus on a
computer screen. There were asked to press a button when they saw the

How Culture Influence Geography
Geography influences culture in many ways. A civilizations geography determines what kind of god(s)
they believe in as well as influences from other cultures. These features provide a stepping stone for
cultures that are solely based on geography.
For instance in Source C the map depicts the archipelago that is Japan. This displays how Japan relies
on nature to grow crops and other substantial food choices. The map shows why the Japanese culture
wants to preserve nature. Another representation of this is shown in Source B. The Egyptians relied
solely on the Nile for water and plant growth. This is why they devoted their god s to water and
nature. This idea is solely based on the geography of Egypt.

Literary Analysis Of Pablo Picasso s Guernica

English 101

Picasso s Guernica Throughout time paintings have been used to record events, communicate ideas or
evoke an emotional response. Pablo Picasso s painting Guernica does just this. Guernica was created
to bring attention to the Nazi bombing of the town of Guernica, Spain during the Spanish civil war in
the second half of the 1930s. Its exhibition was used to provide relief and a call against the horrors of
war. Through its visual elements and symbolic concepts, Guernica depicts the chaos and aftermath of
the bombing of the city and the need to bring about change over the tragedies of war. Standing at a
massive seven feet by twenty five feet, this black and white painting depicts a massacre of the
bombing of the town of Guernica. The composition of the work is a dimly lit space, the only light
coming from an eye shaped light at center top of the painting and a woman holding a lantern next to it.
From left to right, the scene contains a screaming bull beneath it a woman holding a dead child. In the
center there is a mangled horse pierced by spear and below it, the mangled body of a fallen soldier. To
the right are three women, one crawling towards the light, above her is a woman leaning out of a
window holding a lit lantern and the other screaming while falling from a burning building. Guernica
captures the brutal chaos of the bombing with its physical action and intended symbolism. Being black
and white, the painting represents the somber

Becoming A Nursing Assistant Essay
If you are planning a career in child care, becoming a nursing assistant can be an important step.
While it may not be necessary for a position as an aide in a daycare, it could get you a better salary in
that same position. While an aide may get minimum wage at the daycare, a certified nursing assistant
salary starts at about $9.00 per hour. The advantage of being a nursing assistant when doing child care
is the many skills you have been taught during your training. CPR is an important skill and is part of
the training. Certification can prove your ability for learning, your aptitude for stability and the talent
you have for making decisions. Nannies are in demand. More homes consist of two working parents.

They will be alerted to changes in physical condition and have the ability to treat minor injuries in an
effective way. Part of the training also consists of proper feeding techniques. All of the things a good
child care giver must know are included in the total nursing assistant training programs. Any further
education opportunities can also be taken advantage of and will allow the assistant to be better
educated in the child care field. These educational opportunities are well received by potential
employers. It will give the parents of the child the feeling that their precious children are in good
hands. Training for nursing assistants is available at community colleges and healthcare facilities. The
Red Cross also offers first aid courses that incorporate child care training. The opportunities for
advancement are available. While most have a fee associated with them, some organizations will offer
minimal classes at no charge to participants. These offers vary from place to place and it will be

The Value of a College Degree
For many families, the idea that higher education for themselves or their children will automatically
improve their social or economic status is a common one. In many situations this can be the case,
however it is not universal. Additionally, many factors come into play when analyzing how
intergenerational mobility does or does not occur. Some of these factors include existing social class,
field of study, undergraduate vs. advanced degrees, race or gender, selection of institution, and
parental resources. The general hypothesis of this study is Is a College Degree Still the Great
Equalizer?
This issue was the source of study by Florencia Torche at New York University. Using different cohort
groups and conducting various survey methods, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this intergenerational status association is weaker among women. In the case of earnings
mobility, a similar U shaped pattern emerges. In cases of earnings distribution, those at the extreme
ends of educational distribution show the strongest association (i.e. individuals with less than a college
degree and advanced degree holders) indicating, a college degree appears to still be a great equalizer
among BA holders but not among advanced degree holders (Torche, 2011). So far, the analysis of
intergenerational mobility as it relates to class, occupational status, and earnings has been restricted to
labor market forces.
When family income mobility is studied, other factors are taken into account such as non occupational
resources and family level processes. Specific examples that were taken into account included parental
transfers of wealth and intergenerational reproduction as it relates to occupational mobility. While the
results of this area of study closely resemble previously discussed results, one interesting point
emerges. The influence of parental income on sons income level is substantial among those without a
college degree, it declines to insignificance among college graduates, and then it regains strength
among advanced degree holders... (Torche, 2011). This brings to light the issue of horizontal

What Is The True Meaning Of The Wu-Tang Clan s Song Triumph
The atomic bomb of a song Triumph by the Wu Tang Clan is a rap song released back in 1997. While
the song has no chorus, nor any real plot or unified meaning, it consists of nine verses from the Wu
Tang members with an intro from the rapper, Ol Dirty Bastard also featuring Cappadonna. Each of the
nine verses contains many or some figurative devices such as similes and metaphors while
maintaining a good amount of rhymes throughout its lyrics. One of the interesting facts about the song
Triumph was that it was one of the very few 6 minute songs that featured on the radio at the time, even
though the limit was usually three minutes and fifteen seconds when it came to hip hop or any other
genre. The first verse is sung by Inspectah Deck,

Taking a Look at Molecular Cuisine
Molecular cuisine, a relatively new style of cooking, is taking the world by surprise and changing the
way food is prepared, cooked and looked at. People are asking a lot of questions such as Is it safe?,
What kinds of chemicals are used?, Who decided to start this whole thing?, How did it start, and
when?, and What kind of equipment do the cooks use? These are all very good questions and the
answers are out there, they just have to be found. Food and science have been combined to create
something extraordinary called molecular cuisine. The question that is probably going through the
reader s head by now is What is it? Well, molecular cuisine is physics and chemistry applied food to
create different flavours, textures and to amaze the five senses. It is also another way of preparing
food to provide other ways of cooking and to create more possibilities for cooking food. There are
many other names for molecular cuisine such as molecular gastronomy, avant garde cuisine,
experimental cuisine, modern cuisine, and modernist cuisine. The now late oxford physicist Nicholas
Kurti and French chemist Hervé This came up with the term molecular gastronomy for the new style
of cooking/science they started experimenting with back in the 1980 s. People are definitely interested
in molecular cuisine but don t know whether it is safe or not. Some of the chemicals that are used in
molecular cuisine come from natural origins. The material origin in typically plant,

Henrietta Laks Lab Report
By the early nineties, a scientist at Yale had used HeLa to discover that human cancer cells contain an
enzyme called telomerase that rebuilds their telomeres. The presence of telomerase meant cells could
keep regenerating their telomeres indefinitely. This explained the mechanics of HeLa s immortality:
telomerase constantly rewound the ticking clock at the end of Henrietta s chromosomes so they never
grew old and never died.
Rebecca Skloot, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
As our cells divide and our DNA replicates, our telomeres provide a start and an end point for the
enzyme DNA polymerase to attach to our chromosomes and replicate our DNA. By using a repeated,
non coding section of DNA as the starting point for this replication, the telomeres allow our cells to
replicate without damaging important genes at the attachment point of the replicating enzyme. As this
occurs though, our telomere begin to lose base pairs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most telomere are no more that the simple repetition of the DNA nucleotide sequence TTAGGG two
thymine bases, an adenine base, and three guanine bases. With a full length telomere containing more
that 15,000 base pairs, telomeres can perform their functions of preventing chromosome from losing
coding regions of the genome during replication for many replications before reaching what Dr. Jerry
Shay describes as their critical length (Shay Wright). When the telomeres of a cell reach this critical
length and can no longer replicate without damaging the base pair sequences of the chromosomes
themselves, programmed cell death occurs in the form of apoptosis. However, the length of a
chromosome s telomere is not only a linear function of erosion, but also a function of how often
telomerase rebuilds the strands by adding the TTAGGG base pair sequence. It is this way to cheat the
critical point that provides medicine with the possibility to extend our

The Impact Of The Kyoto Protocol
The current status of the Paris Agreement is accompanied with very high aspirations in limiting
emissions to relatively safe levels. It lies with a new style of international cooperation, one that has
allowed 195 countries to adopt an agreement that is likely to have a significant impact on the
emissions that breaks new ground in international climate policy, by setting free to make their own
commitments. However, the global surface temperatures are predicted to rise by are predicted to rise
by 3 4 °C, far above the agreement s goal of limiting increases to 1.5 °C. This implies that chances of
success for Paris will be determined by the overall efforts to reinforce or integrate these nonbinding

In fact, both China and India s emissions increased dramatically as well as the United States is ranked
as the largest emitter per capita in the world. The absence of these three countries made treaty not as
successful. Furthermore, the system was relatively less flexible, which could be another reason the
Kyoto Protocol failed. Less flexibility is based on the concept of strictly binding commitments that
would lead countries offering conservative promises that ultimately have no real impacts on
combating emissions. In contrast, the nations approached with a new style of the treaty that aligns
with their self interests made deeper cooperation. Instead of tailoring the agreement with the
traditional top down approach where countries are centralized with a concept that the starting point of
creating a solution is to develop one concrete collective goal to resolve the issue, which was a stagnant
process with mere achievements, Paris fully implemented the model of nationally determined
contributions. By creating their own commitments, it brought greater flexibility. Divisions between the
so called developed and developing worlds were one of the major causes to yield the meager results

How Does Doolittle Like Helen
In his rendition of Helen, Edgar Allan Poe paints Helen to be a marvel of society, which gives his
poem a praising tone. Conversely, Helen by Hilda Doolittle has an insulting tone since Helen is
portrayed as a hated figure. In Helen by Doolittle, she makes it very blunt that she does not like Helen.
The poem starts off with All Greece hates, Helen, which means right from the start the poet sets up a
very dark and hating tone. Doolittle also uses the word white over and over again. Usually white is
used to signify purity and innocence, but Doolittle uses the word to mean cold and dead. Helen was
the perfect women, so since Doolittle is writing this poem in the perspective of a Greek women Helen
is hated due to jealousy. This is why Doolittle calls Helen cold and ... Show more content on

Since Poe writes from the point of view of a man, he loves Helen because she is gorgeous. Poe says
that Helen brings men Glory, and Grandeur. Though his extremely romanticized portrayal of Helen,
Poe creates a praising tone. He is almost hailing Helen as a god. This is most evident when he says
that Helen stands statue like. This is in deep contrast with Doolittle because Poe s poem almost makes
Helen to be a god, while Doolittle s poem makes Helen to be a devil. Another place where the two
poets are seen to have contrasting tones is in the structure of the poems. Poe s poem has an almost
wavy like structure, the lines go in and they come back out. This gives the poem a very loose feel.
This contributes the over romanticized view of Helen since the poem is set up to mirror the swooning
of the Greek men. Conversely, Doolittle s poem is very stiff due to there being no indents. This
stiffness helps to convey a tone of discontent and hatred. There is no emotion in the structure. Due to
these contrasting stanza structure, Poe s poem clearly displaces a warm and loving tone, while
Doolittle s structure conveys stiffness and

Analysis of Mise-En-Scene in the Film American Beauty Essay
How does mise en scene create meaning and provoke response in the opening of American Beauty?
The opening scene of American Beauty shows a teenage girl lying in a bed, venting her feelings
towards her father. In this, the audience sees her in dull clothing and colours, minimal make up and
has greasy looking hair. As she sits up, her hair falls around her face and she stares directly into the
camera, giving a sense of unease to the audience.
The next shot is an establishing shot, showing the street where the main character, Leister, lives. Its
fall/autumn time and the trees are bare or dying, possibly indicating and foreshadowing a death later
on in the movie. Also the streets are very linear, all vertical and in uniform, as it were. ... Show more

following Leister s shower, the audience gets the sense that the wife is the head of the house as she

woman clips it from the bush. This rose is called American Beauty which is also the name of the film.
She is dressed in a plain grey suit and a clean white apron, again fitting in with the colour scheme of
the interior decor. She also wears pearl earrings and a pearl necklace with her hair perfectly framing
this and has impeccable make up, indicating what the perfect American housewife should resemble.
She also converses with the homosexual neighbours about the secret to her roses flourishing so well;
she seems happy and overly enthusiastic. The audience then see a shot of Leister, again, enclosed in an
environment this time the window. The audience sees him behind the window panes, in between two

also an interesting choice by the director. Blue suggests calm and tranquillity within the home, and
also reflects on the colour of the perfect blue sky. Leister seems to fit in as he reflects on his own life
and his past happiness, and also seems unsettled within himself, contrasting to the

Contract clauses that were quoted in the claims were most commonly in the areas of delays,

clauses dealing with changes/extras, disputes, soil/site conditions, and delay. The essential steps an
owner can take to minimize risks and deal with the identified causes are to allow reasonable time for
the design team to produce clear and complete drawings and specifications, to use value engineering

owned Spanish made, Amoco Cadiz oil tanker, crashed off the rocky coast of Brittany, France on the
morning of March 16th, 1978 (Neil Schlager, 2008). When the tanker hits the rocks it poured around
220,000 tons of crude oil in to the beaches and to the surroundings, making the worst oil tanker
disaster in the planet at that time (Neil Schlager, 2008). It still stands the fifth largest worst oil spill
disaster in the world (Neil Schlager, 2008). At the beginning of the investigation it revealed that faulty
design and very poor careless maintenance of the steering system was the main cause of the disaster
(Neil Schlager, 2008). In the early February of 1976 the tanker Amoco Cadiz is loaded with 121,160
tons of Light crude oil from Ras Tanara, Saudi Arabia and several days after it was loaded with 98,640
tons of Light crude oil at Kharg Island, Iran (Neil Schlager, 2008). The vessel is almost nearing the six
week journey form Persian Gulf to Rotterdam, Netherlands via the southern tip of Africa (Neil
Schlager, 2008). The Standard oil of Indiana is the parent company who hired the Amoco Cadiz
transport company to transport crude oil between Mediterranean

Toy Advertising And Race Analysis
The affects on children from toy and toy advertising on how society views race. In this day and age it
s hard to imagine toys being sold called Jolly Nigger Banks but in 1880 it was commonplace. (Barton
Somerville, 2012) We have come so far from then but we haven t come far enough. This paper will
argue that toy and toy advertising affects how society views race
Sociologist Doris Wilkinson said: Play objects are not merely items for fun, but function directly and
indirectly to maintain existing beliefs and behavioral systems. They are not material trivialities... Both
games and toys provide a looking glass reflection of the larger society; and one cannot offer a
meaningful commentary on these cultural artifacts without

Benefits Of Ecotourism In Kenya
1.0 Introduction
To study the ecotourism in Kenya, this report was written. Ecotourism is a travel to protected areas
that attempts to be low impact and small scale. It helps to educate the traveller, provide funds for
conservation, directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local
communities, and cultivate respect for different cultures and for human rights (Honey 2008, 33).
However, the concept evolved to encompass considerably more than simply nature based travel to
natural areas, with subsequent definitions including the importance of distributing environmental and
socio economic benefits to the local population (Honey 2008; Ross and Wall 1999; Epler Wood 2002).
Kenya is one of the global leaders in tourism and community based ecotourism, working with the
many local ethnic group to protect the environment and local culture. Many activities such as game

The most obvious and immediate benefits of ecotourism associated with local communities are
employment opportunities and income generation for the host region. Community in Mara and
Amboseli have businesses linked to tourism. Local communities can benefit from ecotourism
economically if they play a greater participatory role in the tourism process. Economic empowerment
is also related to a community s access to productive resources in an area targeted by ecotourism( ).
When ecotourism focuses on preservation of natural resources, economic livelihoods of local people
may be threatened. However, the communities have other sources of income from ecotourism such as
nursing, teaching, waiters, guides, plantation farming, bee keeping and fish industry, working for
NGOs, game rangers, working for the government, small community projects, income from rent,
compensations in the case of wildlife human killings as well as businesses in the

The Debate Concerning The Trinity
Trinity Heresies
The debate concerning the Trinity has been a constant debate throughout history. This debate has
continued on through modern day. As we study the different opinions and beliefs on God the Father
and His Son, we can see a pattern were the Trinity is not fully understood by many. In this paper, I will
discuss The Arian Controversy. I will describe what Arius believed concerning God and His Son. Then
I will share my thoughts and facts that will show what Arius taught was not correct.
The Bible has so much information about God and his Son. There really should not be any confusion
or controversy over who they are and how they function. But we would be living in a fairy tale land if
everyone agreed on this subject. There is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that we have some understanding of what Arius was teaching. I will now begin to defend against
his view of God and the Son. Let s begin with addressing that fact that the Son was not a creature. The
Son was God in the flesh. He walked upon earth to spread the gospel and bring salvation to a sinful
world. The prophet Isaiah even writes about the Son before he was born. For to us a child is born, to
us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The Son was more than
flesh, he was the fullness of God. Let s look at the subject of creation. Arius believes that the Son did
not exist during creation. I tend to disagree with his observation. Jesus Christ is viewed as the creator
and the savior of humanity and nature (Langdon, 2015, p. 455). Since God and the Son are one and
can t be divided, then He would have to be present at creation. I believe that the Son and the Holy
Spirit both have been with God since the beginning. According to John 1:1 2, In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning . This
verse alone is pretty clear on the fact that the Son was with God during creation. The last statement I
will address concerning Arius s teachings, will be that the Son is changeable. According to Arius, the
Word has a

Case Study on Ethics and Dual Relationships in Social Work...
Ethics Case Study: Juan S.
The social worker in this case study worked at the ABC Children s Wellness Center. An ESL teacher at
a local elementary school referred Juan S. to her. Juan came to the center with his mother, Silvia.
Before seeing Juan and his mother, the social worker called the ESL teacher who referred Juan to her
to discuss the case. The teacher reported that Juan was showing little interest in classroom activities or
his peers, and always seemed exhausted. He was irritable and frequently became physically aggressive
toward classmates who made fun of him for being so small and thin (sometimes calling him mosquito
). She also stated that he often appeared to be daydreaming, and when she tried to talk to him, he

Juan was present during that shooting, and barely escaped with his own life. Silvia then made the
decision to take her remaining two children to America, and contacted her cousin who lived in
Brownsville, TX to help her slip across the border. The cousin was able get someone to smuggle
Silvia, Jaime and Juan across the border at the cost of $10,000. They crossed the border on foot and
were met by someone who hid them under the hay placed in the feeding troughs of a cattle truck. They
were left there for two days without food or water in 98 degree weather while the truck made its way
to the Texas Arkansas border. There they were picked up by her cousin who placed them on a bus to
W. Palm Beach Fl where another cousin lived. Silvia must now pay back the $10,000 she owes her
cousin.
The mother indicated that the family was having great difficulty financially because, without papers,
Silvia and Jaime were having trouble finding jobs, and Silvia was afraid to apply for public assistance.
She had recently obtained a job as a housekeeper and nanny for a wealthy family with 3 young
children. The family, however, did not pay her each week as promised, and when they did pay her,
they sometimes paid less than the agreed amount. Sylvia was afraid to complain because she feared
the family might turn her in to the immigration authorities. She was searching for other work but had
not found anything. Jaime worked as

Is the Octoroon a Typical Victorian Melodrama
Is The Octoroon a typical Victorian melodrama? The Oxford English Dictionary defines the genre of
melodrama as, a stage play, usually romantic and sensational in plot , this description certainly applies
to The Octoroon. It was an extremely popular form of stage drama and what I will discover is whether
its themes, content and structure are typical of the Victorian period melodrama. From the first time it
was presented at the start of the nineteenth century, melodrama attracted big audiences. It started out
very popular with the lower classes in society but as the century progressed melodrama became
appreciated by large sections of society(Leaver,444). It usually contained themes of love, murder and
honour. Audiences that went ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ending shows me that boucicault altered his play to fit the British publics preconceptions of what
a melodrama should be, therefore making it into a standard melodrama for the time. The fact that the
plot in The Octoroon is based around the topic of slavery shows us that it is in someway different from
other melodrama s of the time. Slavery was a hot topic when the Octoroon was produced and some
argue that it is abolitionist in its tone. Victorian melodrama s while sensational, tended to be centered
around more common everyday settings and themes. Some argue that the play is abolitionist in its tone
but I disagree. Boucicault himself denied the piece was meant to be an anti slavery
statement(Degen,173). In a letter to The New York Herald in December 1859, Boucicault explains that
he is not taking sides, I have laid the scene in the South, and, as slavery is an essential element of
society there, insomuch I have been obliged to admit it into my scheme. . . .I believe the drama to be a
proper and very effective instrument in the discussion of all social matters. . . .It is by such means that
the drama can be elevated into the social importance it deserves to enjoy. Therefore I have involved in

Analysis Of Judith Ortiz Cofer s First Love
People change and grow through their experiences and conflicts. For example, just 2 years ago I was a
sixth grader. There was a lot more homework than I ever had in my non accelerated / magnet
elementary school. I had to work harder and for longer hours, but as a result, I was much more mature
and knowledgeable. I improved my work habits and increased my concentration. In Judith Ortiz Cofer
s First Love , a 14 year old girl is in love with a high school senior. She does everything she can to try
to see him more often. At the end, she thinks she learns the true meaning of love. In Richard Wright s
The Street , a boy has to go shopping for food, but he is constantly stopped by a gang who beats him
up. At the end, he beats up the gang with a stick his mother gave him because he had to to return
home. In both The Street by Richard Wright and First Love by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the characters start
out as shy and naive, but end up as aware and wiser as a result of their respective conflicts. For
example, in First Love , the main character (the author) was very naive. She didn t know much about
love, and was lovesick. This is shown in the second paragraph, where she states, I fell in love, or my
hormones awakened from their long slumber in my body, and suddenly the goal of my days was
focused on one thing: to catch a glimpse of my secret love. This shows she was lovesick because her
only goal changed from school to love. She is naive due to the fact that her priorities are

The Quality Matters Model
Using the ASSURE (Analyze, State, Select, Utilize, Require, and Evaluate) Model of Instructional
Design and the Quality Matters rubric for course review, I have just completed IDOL, an online
course that follows such skills. By participating in group and course discussion forums, I actively
monitored announcements, questions, and postings to guide my learning and recognize the guideposts
of objectives and expected quality levels for achievement. Writing measureable objectives set the tone
for communication and characteristics of the ABCD model: audience, behavior, condition, and degree.
Both as a teacher and as a student, I have experienced transformative learning in a structured online
learning environment that provided extensive resources, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The course materials and learner interactions and supports link the instruction to achievement, and
Chickering and Ehrmann (2009, March 5) agree that interaction between students and teachers remain

when materials, technology, and media were flexible and cross linked providing a variety of ways of
learning. Still, I ve learned that online classes demand a lot of time much more than a face to face
setting, at least for this learner. Read two chapters, watched three videos, read three articles, created a
quiz, typed a script, took a quiz, and created a component of a course design project for a group all in
one day! Not really the best way to spend a summer day when the whole family is sitting around
waiting for me to finish, but I learned new information and developed more insight into how to
manipulate technology to be clear about what I want to see from students as well as how to afford
them the opportunity to explore and deliver what they are capable of completing within a structural
design for all to achieve. Parents don t understand the digital native concept, and adults don t want to
for the most part. However, now is the time to press higher education to lead the change? Students are
fickle and so is the learning community. Procedures, rules, and communication need to be step by step
and clear something this ambiguous girl is going to get frustrated with, but will navigate through as I
continue through teaching. I just need time to organize a real

Bristol Bay Mine Development Case Study
Two mining companies, Northern Dynasty and Anglo American, have been fighting with the tribes in
Alaska over the Bristol Bay mine. This is because that the Alaskan tribes are worried that the mining
activity of the two mining companies would harm the First Nation land. However, the mining activity
will bring lots of benefits to the USA economy. In my opinion, Bristol Bay mine development should
be continued. First, the Bristol Bay mine would be the biggest mine in North America. More
specifically, the ore body contains 80 billion pounds of copper, 107 million ounces of gold, and 5.6
billion pounds of molybdenum. This might be the last mining site in the world with huge deposit.
However, the mine development will affect the ecosystem in the

Mobile Adhoc Network ( Manet ) Essay
Abstract: Mobile AdHoc Network (MANET) is a wireless network with a set of mobile nodes that can
communicate with each other with no access point and without any fixed infrastructure. But mobile
devices usually have limited resources (battery power, memory, CPU) which limit their transmission
range. Hence, in order to conserve the limited resource, it is highly desirable that transmission should
be as efficient as possible. MANET can be implemented in any environment because of its dynamic
nature. For routing of information packets queuing is done at the buffer and transferred through
intermediate nodes to the destination on priority basis which help to improve the overall network
performance. This paper provides a review of various buffer management schemes for packet queues
in MANET.
Index Terms: MANET, Buffer, Packet Queue.
INTRODUCTION
Mobile ad hoc network is dynamic network topology without any central network for control. All the
nodes in the network participate in networking functions like routing and packet forwarding as per the
requirement. Nodes which are in direct contact with each other communicate with single hop and
those which are not in range takes multiple hops through intermediate nodes to reach destination
Fig 1: Mobile Ad Hoc Network
Fig.1 shows that source and destination nodes are not in range so packets are routed through
intermediate nodes.

Election Mapping In The United States
Election mapping is a very important tool when studying the history of our county. The history books
may be able recount the events, but election maps can reveal how people reacted at that time.
American s opinions and views change over time and this can be proved through election mapping. By
looking at three elections: 1960, 1968, and 1980, it can be shown that changes in the political
landscape are the result of multiple factors impacting the American people. The first notable detail is
what did not change throughout these three elections. It would seem that the Deep South was very
firm on their political views. They consistently voted conservatively with the Democratic Party, even
in the 1980 election, in which incumbent Democratic President

choices to represent the biotechnology industry. My first choice was AbbVie Inc., or (ABBV), and on
the date of purchase their stock was trading at $64.08 per share. On the date of purchasing their stock I
bought 312 shares equaling a total of $19,992.96. This company is known for discovering, developing,
and marketing both biopharmaceuticals and small molecule drugs. One drug that is known as the
world s best selling anti inflammatory medicine is Humira, which was made by AbbVie. Drugs like
Humira and Vicodin have proved to be household names. I chose AbbVie incorporated because their
drugs are some of the best on the market and cater to the needs of the masses. The second company I

The Washington Redskinss Should Not Have To Change The...
While some people believe that the Redskins should not have to change their name, many people
believe the term redskin is offensive and can negatively affect the Native American people. Not only
should the Washington Redskins have to change their name, so should other teams who has offensive
name like the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Atlanta Braves Tomahawk Chop. Since
1992, when the first legal action against popped up, Native Americans activists have battled to change
these football team names. They say that the term redskin is a derogatory term and that it is just as bad
as the N word. They also believe that it has a negative effect on how they are perceived and their
identity in today s society. So not only should the Washington Redskins change their football team
name, but other teams should as well, because it can be very offensive and hurtful towards the Native
Americans. The offensive names of sports teams like the Washington Redskins can negatively affect
the identity of the Native American people. Susan Shown Harjo, President of the Morning Star
institute, questioned, How would you feel if you had your home taken away from you and then
watched as your identity was stolen for profit? It s adding insult to injury. (Wulf, 2014). In 2005, the
NCAA banned most Native American mascots and said that they were no longer protected under the
trademark protection law. This applied to most of the teams, except those who keep ties with the tribes

The Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem
Tropical rainforests contains the most diverse ecosystems of any biome, containing over half of the
world s flora and fauna species despite only covering less than 6% of the earth s surface. Ecosystems
have flourished here because of plentiful rainfall (over 100mm per year) a humid but consistent
temperature (http://www.blue planetbiomes.org/rainforest.htm). All this combines to something of a
nightmare to live in, especially for someone who has never experienced it before.
So whether your plane has crash landed into the Amazon or you were stupid enough to follow iMaps
when you told it to take you to the local McDonalds, this guide will instruct you to survive in a
tropical rainforest.
Water
You might think this one is easy, you re carrying a drink bottle with you! But that bottle isn t going to
last more than two days in this humid environment, and you re not going to make it out in that time.
Tropical Rainforests contain water sources that can be found in the form of streams or lakes or even
tiny water vines. One tip into finding a lake or stream is look for a place where shorter, fern plants
flourish, and not much tall trees are found. If a water source cannot be found, rainwater is more than
enough to keep you alive. Remember before consuming any water, to boil it over a fire (see Fire ) so
that any bacteria is killed off. (http://news.discovery.com /adventure/survival/top ways to purify water

The Effect Of Sleep Deprivation On Seizure
A study on the effect of sleep deprivation on seizure in epilepsy disorder and its relation to signaling
bathways in the brain
People with seizure disorder usually have problems with their sleep. Daytime sleepiness, lack of
energy and drowsiness are frequently seen in epileptic patients. Baseline electrical activity has been
vastly studied in epilepsy. Seizures can be either partial or generalized. Based on the area of the brain
triggered by epileptic waves, any kind of motor or sensory abnormalities can happen in partial seizure.
If the whole brain cortex is triggered, generalized tonic clonic seizure can happen, which is the classic
shaking of the body and loss of consciousness. Generalized seizures may be followed by a post ictal
period in which the patient will be heavily drowsy and may experience memory loss for a short
amount of time. It has been shown that epileptic patients can reach threshold potentials more readily
than the normal population and lack of sleep can be a trigger for causing a seizure [1]. The circadian
rhythm, synchronizing role of thalamo cortical networks, and reduced intracortical inhibition have
been suggested as underlying physiologic factors elicited by sleep deprivation that make a patient
more prone to seizure activity.
The abnormal progress from resting potential to a wild epileptic wave can be triggered by sleep
deprivation as lack of sleep alters the neural resting potential.
Seizure occurrence is found to be related to the circadian

  • 2. Designing A New Computer System Case Study 1 Three friends have asked me to configure a new computer for each one of them. The first one is a gamer, and she needs a competitive gaming system. Another wants to purchase a computer for her home office where she has a small travel agency company, and the third would like a notebook or laptop computer that he can use for schoolwork. Each one of my friends has a $2000.00 budget to create the perfect computer system for each of their needs. First, we will create the perfect gaming system for my friend in need. With the gaming system we will be starting from scratch. First things first, obtain an AMD FX6350 6 core processor. It is able to run games at high settings, and there is not much difference between AMD s and Intel s in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two have been tested against one another, and honestly there is really not much different between the two in game playing performances. However, the SSD has proven to be drastically faster than the HD. I am going to go with the SSD with this gaming system because it loads faster, transitioning maps throughout the game is significantly faster, and overall it means that your computer will boot at a significantly faster. Overall one would have a better experience because it makes the overall functionality of the computer better as a whole. The Samsung 840 EVO 240 GB would be a great one to choose. It can be found for $129.99. It is a little on the pricey side, but it will be well worth it. Next we need to configure a reliable computer system for my friend that has a small, at home travel agency. With this system I would also recommend buying an already made system, and perhaps doing a few upgrades. Dell has the OptiPlex 3020 Micro which is a descent system for an at home business. It comes with an Intel Pentium G3240T Processor which is dual core with HD Graphics. This dual core processor has plenty of horsepower to work with for a small business, so there is really no need in upgrading this to a quad core processor. It will allow you to answer e mails while running Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the Web browser. It also comes with 4 gigabytes of RAM, and there is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Blood Spatter The understanding of blood spatter patterns is not a widely recognized forensic practice. Bloodstain pattern interpretation (BPI) is commonly used in murder investigations, but could be utilized in everything from simple assault to mass murders if the number of trained professionals increased. BPI can reveal critical information into reinventing a given crime scene. Everything from the number of blows, stabs or shots a victim was given, the movement that was undergone by the victim and assailant after bloodshed began, position of objects at the crime scene and the type of weapon, if any, that was used can be uncovered. Blood differs from water in that it is a less viscous liquid. The teardrop that is formed by rain is not formed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is flung off the weapon or tool during and after the act as a result of centrifugal force. Cast off spatter is often elliptical in shape which is why it is easily confused with arterial spurting (Sutton, 1998). However, it can also resemble a typical medium velocity droplet any time the blood hits a surface. For example, a blow to the top of the head with an over head strike or simply cast off forming from blood dripping off a weapon after use will result in a similar pattern to a medium or low velocity droplet. Smooth metallic weaponry used will generate a more profound pattern than a textured weapon. In other words an aluminum baseball bat will yield a greater amount of cast off blood than a wooden baseball bat. All these elements are important in uncovering the truth behind a crime scene, and in a controlled environment seem simple. Implementing these techniques in an actual situation is more difficult as crime scenes are all unique. A multitude of elements need to be considered before forming an opinion from blood spatter. Spot size, quantity, shape, distribution, location, AOI, and target surface are only a few of these elements. As with other types of forensic science negative evidence can be used in BPI. Void is the absence of blood spatter in an otherwise continuous pattern. This leads evidence leads us to believe that an object or person has blocked the blood from striking the surface observed. • 5. Heroin And Its Effects On The Brain Heroin, a chemical imposter, is an illegal, extremely addictive drug derived from opium. Heroin can reach the brain by methods of injection, nasal inhalation, or smoked. In our brain there are many receptor sites, each site specific for different neurotransmitters. In this paper I will refer to the opiate receptor. Naturally, our brain is responsible for making endorphins, a natural opiate of the body. These endorphins are the feel good chemical sensations in the brain, when we are exposed to pain or stress. Heroin mimics the opium chemical, creating the effect of pleasure and euphoric feelings. I will look into how heroin affects the cerebral cortex and how different genders perceive and treat the effects of heroin. The opiates in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The opioid is synthesized from morphine, and when entering the brain, heroin is converted back to morphine. Upon entering, the once opioid, now morphine, binds to opioid receptors, specifically in the brainstem. The brainstem is vital for controlling automatic processes vital for life, like blood pressure, arousal, and respiration. These processes are how we continue to live; heroin use and overdose can then lead to death by suppression of these vital life processes, such as suppression of breathing (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2014). While heroin undoubtedly affects our processes of living, it also interrupts our sensations and perceptions. Users describe the feeling of heroin as a euphoric or rush feeling. This rush reportedly last one to two minutes, where the actual high lasts hours. Other sensations associated with heroin are reduction of anxiety and depression, safe and warm feelings, and pain relief (Hartney, 2014). While heroin affects sensations, it also changes motor functions, such as reaction times. In a study I examined, experimenters tested reaction times in heroin abusers of different genders. In the experiment, researchers formulated two groups, one control and the other heroin dependent currently in a withdrawal period; researchers choose participants specifically on certain guidelines. For the experiment, participants were asked to focus on a visual stimulus on a computer screen. There were asked to press a button when they saw the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Literary Analysis Of Pablo Picasso s Guernica Julius Byla Hake English 101 10/22/17 Picasso s Guernica Throughout time paintings have been used to record events, communicate ideas or evoke an emotional response. Pablo Picasso s painting Guernica does just this. Guernica was created to bring attention to the Nazi bombing of the town of Guernica, Spain during the Spanish civil war in the second half of the 1930s. Its exhibition was used to provide relief and a call against the horrors of war. Through its visual elements and symbolic concepts, Guernica depicts the chaos and aftermath of the bombing of the city and the need to bring about change over the tragedies of war. Standing at a massive seven feet by twenty five feet, this black and white painting depicts a massacre of the bombing of the town of Guernica. The composition of the work is a dimly lit space, the only light coming from an eye shaped light at center top of the painting and a woman holding a lantern next to it. From left to right, the scene contains a screaming bull beneath it a woman holding a dead child. In the center there is a mangled horse pierced by spear and below it, the mangled body of a fallen soldier. To the right are three women, one crawling towards the light, above her is a woman leaning out of a window holding a lit lantern and the other screaming while falling from a burning building. Guernica captures the brutal chaos of the bombing with its physical action and intended symbolism. Being black and white, the painting represents the somber ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Value of a College Degree For many families, the idea that higher education for themselves or their children will automatically improve their social or economic status is a common one. In many situations this can be the case, however it is not universal. Additionally, many factors come into play when analyzing how intergenerational mobility does or does not occur. Some of these factors include existing social class, field of study, undergraduate vs. advanced degrees, race or gender, selection of institution, and parental resources. In the case of earnings mobility, a similar U shaped pattern emerges. In cases of earnings distribution, those at the extreme ends of educational distribution show the strongest association (i.e. individuals with less than a college degree and advanced degree holders) indicating, a college degree appears to still be a great equalizer among BA holders but not among advanced degree holders (Torche, 2011). So far, the analysis of intergenerational mobility as it relates to class, occupational status, and earnings has been restricted to labor market forces. When family income mobility is studied, other factors are taken into account such as non occupational resources and family level processes. Specific examples that were taken into account included parental transfers of wealth and intergenerational reproduction as it relates to occupational mobility. While the results of this area of study closely resemble previously discussed results, one interesting point emerges. The influence of parental income on sons income level is substantial among those without a college degree, it declines to insignificance among college graduates, and then it regains strength among advanced degree holders... People are asking a lot of questions such as Is it safe?, What kinds of chemicals are used?, Who decided to start this whole thing?, How did it start, and when?, and What kind of equipment do the cooks use? These are all very good questions and the answers are out there, they just have to be found. Food and science have been combined to create something extraordinary called molecular cuisine. The question that is probably going through the reader s head by now is What is it? Well, molecular cuisine is physics and chemistry applied food to create different flavours, textures and to amaze the five senses. It is also another way of preparing food to provide other ways of cooking and to create more possibilities for cooking food. There are many other names for molecular cuisine such as molecular gastronomy, avant garde cuisine, experimental cuisine, modern cuisine, and modernist cuisine. The now late oxford physicist Nicholas Kurti and French chemist Hervé This came up with the term molecular gastronomy for the new style of cooking/science they started experimenting with back in the 1980 s. • 14. Henrietta Laks Lab Report By the early nineties, a scientist at Yale had used HeLa to discover that human cancer cells contain an enzyme called telomerase that rebuilds their telomeres. The presence of telomerase meant cells could keep regenerating their telomeres indefinitely. This explained the mechanics of HeLa s immortality: telomerase constantly rewound the ticking clock at the end of Henrietta s chromosomes so they never grew old and never died. Rebecca Skloot, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks As our cells divide and our DNA replicates, our telomeres provide a start and an end point for the enzyme DNA polymerase to attach to our chromosomes and replicate our DNA. By using a repeated, non coding section of DNA as the starting point for this replication, the telomeres allow our cells to replicate without damaging important genes at the attachment point of the replicating enzyme. As this occurs though, our telomere begin to lose base pairs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most telomere are no more that the simple repetition of the DNA nucleotide sequence TTAGGG two thymine bases, an adenine base, and three guanine bases. With a full length telomere containing more that 15,000 base pairs, telomeres can perform their functions of preventing chromosome from losing coding regions of the genome during replication for many replications before reaching what Dr. Jerry Shay describes as their critical length (Shay Wright). When the telomeres of a cell reach this critical length and can no longer replicate without damaging the base pair sequences of the chromosomes themselves, programmed cell death occurs in the form of apoptosis. However, the length of a chromosome s telomere is not only a linear function of erosion, but also a function of how often telomerase rebuilds the strands by adding the TTAGGG base pair sequence. Less flexibility is based on the concept of strictly binding commitments that would lead countries offering conservative promises that ultimately have no real impacts on combating emissions. In contrast, the nations approached with a new style of the treaty that aligns with their self interests made deeper cooperation. Instead of tailoring the agreement with the traditional top down approach where countries are centralized with a concept that the starting point of creating a solution is to develop one concrete collective goal to resolve the issue, which was a stagnant process with mere achievements, Paris fully implemented the model of nationally determined contributions. Conversely, Helen by Hilda Doolittle has an insulting tone since Helen is portrayed as a hated figure. In Helen by Doolittle, she makes it very blunt that she does not like Helen. The poem starts off with All Greece hates, Helen, which means right from the start the poet sets up a very dark and hating tone. Doolittle also uses the word white over and over again. Though his extremely romanticized portrayal of Helen, Poe creates a praising tone. He is almost hailing Helen as a god. This is most evident when he says that Helen stands statue like. This is in deep contrast with Doolittle because Poe s poem almost makes Helen to be a god, while Doolittle s poem makes Helen to be a devil. Another place where the two poets are seen to have contrasting tones is in the structure of the poems. Poe s poem has an almost wavy like structure, the lines go in and they come back out. This gives the poem a very loose feel. This contributes the over romanticized view of Helen since the poem is set up to mirror the swooning of the Greek men. Conversely, Doolittle s poem is very stiff due to there being no indents. This stiffness helps to convey a tone of discontent and hatred. There is no emotion in the structure. Reimbursements for price escalation are provided in the Central and State government construction contracts namely Central Public Works Department, Military Engineer Services, Tamil Nadu Public Works Department. Reimbursement of material price escalation is calculated based on Whole sale Price Index (WPI) and Labour escalation is calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Contract clauses that were quoted in the claims were most commonly in the areas of delays, scheduling, and increase in the scope of work. The special consideration should be given to contract clauses dealing with changes/extras, disputes, soil/site conditions, and delay. The essential steps an owner can take to minimize risks and deal with the identified causes are to allow reasonable time for the design team to produce clear and complete drawings and specifications, to use value engineering and implement constructability during the different stages of the project, to provide a proper mechanism for processing and evaluating change orders that pay for direct costs, indirect costs, and loss of productivity associated with any changes if any, to use critical path method scheduling, cost control, and 37 productivity analysis to monitor progress and detect any change ... An American owned Spanish made, Amoco Cadiz oil tanker, crashed off the rocky coast of Brittany, France on the morning of March 16th, 1978 (Neil Schlager, 2008). When the tanker hits the rocks it poured around 220,000 tons of crude oil in to the beaches and to the surroundings, making the worst oil tanker disaster in the planet at that time (Neil Schlager, 2008). It still stands the fifth largest worst oil spill disaster in the world (Neil Schlager, 2008). At the beginning of the investigation it revealed that faulty design and very poor careless maintenance of the steering system was the main cause of the disaster (Neil Schlager, 2008). In the early February of 1976 the tanker Amoco Cadiz is loaded with 121,160 tons of Light crude oil from Ras Tanara, Saudi Arabia and several days after it was loaded with 98,640 tons of Light crude oil at Kharg Island, Iran (Neil Schlager, 2008). • 23. Benefits Of Ecotourism In Kenya 1.0 Introduction To study the ecotourism in Kenya, this report was written. Ecotourism is a travel to protected areas that attempts to be low impact and small scale. It helps to educate the traveller, provide funds for conservation, directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local communities, and cultivate respect for different cultures and for human rights (Honey 2008, 33). However, the concept evolved to encompass considerably more than simply nature based travel to natural areas, with subsequent definitions including the importance of distributing environmental and socio economic benefits to the local population (Honey 2008; Ross and Wall 1999; Epler Wood 2002). Kenya is one of the global leaders in tourism and community based ecotourism, working with the many local ethnic group to protect the environment and local culture. • 24. The Debate Concerning The Trinity Trinity Heresies The debate concerning the Trinity has been a constant debate throughout history. This debate has continued on through modern day. As we study the different opinions and beliefs on God the Father and His Son, we can see a pattern were the Trinity is not fully understood by many. In this paper, I will discuss The Arian Controversy. I will describe what Arius believed concerning God and His Son. Then I will share my thoughts and facts that will show what Arius taught was not correct. The Bible has so much information about God and his Son. There really should not be any confusion or controversy over who they are and how they function. But we would be living in a fairy tale land if everyone agreed on this subject. There is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that we have some understanding of what Arius was teaching. I will now begin to defend against his view of God and the Son. Let s begin with addressing that fact that the Son was not a creature. The Son was God in the flesh. He walked upon earth to spread the gospel and bring salvation to a sinful world. The prophet Isaiah even writes about the Son before he was born. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The Son was more than flesh, he was the fullness of God. Let s look at the subject of creation. Arius believes that the Son did not exist during creation. I tend to disagree with his observation. Jesus Christ is viewed as the creator and the savior of humanity and nature (Langdon, 2015, p. 455). Since God and the Son are one and can t be divided, then He would have to be present at creation. I believe that the Son and the Holy Spirit both have been with God since the beginning. According to John 1:1 2, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning . This verse alone is pretty clear on the fact that the Son was with God during creation. The last statement I will address concerning Arius s teachings, will be that the Son is changeable. According to Arius, the Word has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the genre of melodrama as, a stage play, usually romantic and sensational in plot , this description certainly applies to The Octoroon. It was an extremely popular form of stage drama and what I will discover is whether its themes, content and structure are typical of the Victorian period melodrama. From the first time it was presented at the start of the nineteenth century, melodrama attracted big audiences. It started out very popular with the lower classes in society but as the century progressed melodrama became appreciated by large sections of society(Leaver,444). It usually contained themes of love, murder and honour. Audiences that went ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that the plot in The Octoroon is based around the topic of slavery shows us that it is in someway different from other melodrama s of the time. Slavery was a hot topic when the Octoroon was produced and some argue that it is abolitionist in its tone. Victorian melodrama s while sensational, tended to be centered around more common everyday settings and themes. Some argue that the play is abolitionist in its tone but I disagree. Boucicault himself denied the piece was meant to be an anti slavery statement(Degen,173). There was a lot more homework than I ever had in my non accelerated / magnet elementary school. I had to work harder and for longer hours, but as a result, I was much more mature and knowledgeable. I improved my work habits and increased my concentration. In Judith Ortiz Cofer s First Love , a 14 year old girl is in love with a high school senior. She does everything she can to try to see him more often. At the end, she thinks she learns the true meaning of love. In Richard Wright s The Street , a boy has to go shopping for food, but he is constantly stopped by a gang who beats him up. At the end, he beats up the gang with a stick his mother gave him because he had to to return home. In both The Street by Richard Wright and First Love by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the characters start out as shy and naive, but end up as aware and wiser as a result of their respective conflicts. For example, in First Love , the main character (the author) was very naive. She didn t know much about love, and was lovesick. This is shown in the second paragraph, where she states, I fell in love, or my hormones awakened from their long slumber in my body, and suddenly the goal of my days was focused on one thing: to catch a glimpse of my secret love. • 30. Mobile Adhoc Network ( Manet ) Essay Abstract: Mobile AdHoc Network (MANET) is a wireless network with a set of mobile nodes that can communicate with each other with no access point and without any fixed infrastructure. But mobile devices usually have limited resources (battery power, memory, CPU) which limit their transmission range. Hence, in order to conserve the limited resource, it is highly desirable that transmission should be as efficient as possible. MANET can be implemented in any environment because of its dynamic nature. For routing of information packets queuing is done at the buffer and transferred through intermediate nodes to the destination on priority basis which help to improve the overall network performance. This paper provides a review of various buffer management schemes for packet queues in MANET. Index Terms: MANET, Buffer, Packet Queue. INTRODUCTION Mobile ad hoc network is dynamic network topology without any central network for control. All the nodes in the network participate in networking functions like routing and packet forwarding as per the requirement. Nodes which are in direct contact with each other communicate with single hop and those which are not in range takes multiple hops through intermediate nodes to reach destination Fig 1: Mobile Ad Hoc Network Fig.1 shows that source and destination nodes are not in range so packets are routed through intermediate nodes. The Effect Of Sleep Deprivation On Seizure A study on the effect of sleep deprivation on seizure in epilepsy disorder and its relation to signaling bathways in the brain People with seizure disorder usually have problems with their sleep. Daytime sleepiness, lack of energy and drowsiness are frequently seen in epileptic patients. Baseline electrical activity has been vastly studied in epilepsy. Seizures can be either partial or generalized. Based on the area of the brain triggered by epileptic waves, any kind of motor or sensory abnormalities can happen in partial seizure. If the whole brain cortex is triggered, generalized tonic clonic seizure can happen, which is the classic shaking of the body and loss of consciousness. Generalized seizures may be followed by a post ictal period in which the patient will be heavily drowsy and may experience memory loss for a short amount of time. It has been shown that epileptic patients can reach threshold potentials more readily than the normal population and lack of sleep can be a trigger for causing a seizure [1]. The circadian rhythm, synchronizing role of thalamo cortical networks, and reduced intracortical inhibition have been suggested as underlying physiologic factors elicited by sleep deprivation that make a patient more prone to seizure activity. The abnormal progress from resting potential to a wild epileptic wave can be triggered by sleep deprivation as lack of sleep alters the neural resting potential.
