Field Of Drones Research Paper
It was early dawn at the Huntington Beach Pier in California when I was first and rarely dumbfounded
by my first witnessing of a drone in action. I had just finished eating breakfast with my father and we
were then progressing towards the parking lot. As we were approaching the end of the pier, an
irregular sound magnified in volume. At the point where the noise reached its peak, an unnatural wind,
unknown to my senses, gusted from above. I felt feverish taps on my right arm only to see my dad
pointing at the sky above. I swiftly turn my head thinking about what had caused such question. At the
time I recall describing the object as a strange toy helicopter, and it was rapidly advancing towards its
operator. Our walking speed that morning made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This urge to know more lead me to consider purchasing a drone for myself, but there were a few
problems about that consideration. I didn t have a complete understanding about drone
maneuverability and regulations which lead me to speculate whether or not to begin exploring the
field of drones. My desire to study about unmanned aerial systems strengthened over the next couple
of years, but I couldn t find many lessons that were interactive and thorough enough. I find it amazing
how a brand new view of the ground below can be accessed with such a small and agile product. For a
great portion of my existence, I always thought that huge aircrafts would be the only functionable
creations that would be able to fly the skies, so when I first witnessed the potential of these aerial
systems, I was quickly captivated to properly wield one someday. The feature of recording flights was
also mind blowing because it opened a new way to express the world around us through film. It s
amazing how creative content creators can be when using them. Being able to easily access a new way
to express oneself is a progression into the future we have set for

Mozart s First Concerto
In seventeen eighty four, Mozart started to work on this beautiful concerto. On the seventh day of
March in seventeen eighty six, around the same time when Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of
Figaro) appeared, he finished the magnificent concerto. The lovely concerto contains many
instruments, including the piano, two clarinets, the flute, two horns, two bassoons, and string
instruments. Heaven only knows for sure where and when the first concerto was performed. However,
on the twelfth day of January in nineteen thirty, George Stewart McManus performed the marvelous
concerto in Los Angeles for the first time. The delightful concerto s duration is no longer than twenty
six minutes. Since early seventeen eighty six, around the time when ... Show more content on

When the Exposition theme is restated as part of the movement, it is known as the Recapitulation. In
Mozart s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, the Recapitulation is when the soloist is
accompanied by the orchestra. There are many similarities between the exposition description and the
recapitulation description. However, there are also quite a few differences. The first theme group in
the exposition lasts from measures one through sixty six, whereas the first theme group in the
recapitulation lasts from measures begins at measure one hundred and ninety eight, and then ends at
two hundred and eighty four. The first theme group of the exposition has a two bar cadential extension
with a sixteen bar double period. Many wonder how the first theme in the recapitulation is derived
from the exposition? That is because there is and exposition version of the variation that has no
extensions. In the Exposition, the transition lasts from measures eighteen through thirty three. In the
Recapitulation, the transition lasts from two hundred and thirteenth measure to the two hundred and
twenty eighth measure. The second theme of the recapitulation is derived from the exposition, because
the second theme of the exposition has a thirty one to forty six bar double period, along with a seven
bar shortened sentence, a three bar interpolation, and closing with a four bar phrase. The second theme
group in the recapitulation lasts from measure one hundred to one hundred and

The Humoral Theory Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
The humoral theory is one of the oldest theories of Medicine that proposed that our bodies are made
up of four different humours: black bile, blood, phlegm, and yellow bile. It was believed that while in
good health the humours were in a harmonious balance throughout the body but illness is said to have
disrupted that balance causing one or more humour to become disordered. It is also said that the mind
is effected by the equilibrium of the four temperaments known as melancholic, sanguine, choleric, and
phlegmatic and that they dispersed to make up certain characteristics or personality traits. Critics have
long described Shakespeare as using these humours and temperaments as a way for the audience to
understand the character, plot and other aspects of his plays. In such plays as Romeo and Juliet where
critics have described Romeo as being a melancholy figure it is exceptionally brought about by using
the four humours involved in the humoral theory that is said to have first originated by Hippocrates
and later elaborated on by Galen. The four humours include Black Bile which is related to the
melancholic temperament and said to be associated with the element earth, the season of winter, the
planet Saturn, the spleen, and cold and dry qualities. The humour Blood is related to the sanguine
temperament and associated with the element air, the season spring, the planet Jupiter, the heart, and
hot and moist qualities. While Phlegm is associated with the temperament phlegmatic

Jack Kerouac and The Beat Generation Essay
Born to die
The Beat Generation, made up of writers, artists and misfits, was forged not long after the end of
World War II. People wanted change, the old ways and traditions were slowly being neglected and
social rules of that time were put into question. The Beat Generation were the ones leading the way in
questioning the old rules and regulations not because they wanted to but because America wanted it.
The Beat Generation was a bohemian hipster like movement that got its drive and inspiration from
sexuality, drugs, booze, crazy people and situations and religions like Christianity, Judaism and
Buddhism. The Beat Generation embraced creativity untouched by culture. These artists found
inspiration in past and current art movements like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells many that life should
be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest before death comes creeping along. Humans
create this false pursuit of happiness before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death.
Religious beliefs teach humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in
north America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack Kerouac is
inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of Tristessa s junk addiction and
how she embraces death even though her life is miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about
death and many artists from that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in
humans. Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth about the
human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so much like Tristessa s eyes
that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast the dove s eyes. (Kerouac 26) the Dove
represents the communication between the two worlds and more importantly it represents peace of the
deepest kind. It sooths all our worries and troubled thoughts. It helps to appreciate the little things in
life. Kerouac wrote in spontaneous prose style at this moment in time because he was captivated by
the image of the dove in Tristessa s house looking over her

What is religion? According to Merriam Webster.com, it is the belief in a god or in a group of Gods,
an organized system of beliefs, or an interest or activity that is very important to a person or group.
Religion too many people can mean an array of different things. That is what makes us all vital to our
society because we are all diverse and important. A person who believes we should all love and

Mehmet Oz uses his religion in his practices of medicine to bring help to the sick. He has a different
way in treating patients in which other doctors might disagree with his methods. His approach to
treating patients is away from medicines but rather with methods such as meditation, yoga,
reflexology, energy healing, and massage. He wants patients to heal themselves so to speak instead of
relying on drugs to do the work. His medical practices ties into his religions of Sufism and his study of
Swedenborg because it reflects the beliefs that spiritualism helps you reach the divine. Dr. Mehmet Oz
is an admiral doctor and person because he believes in truly helping people become better for them
and not just taking medications. That is an admirable quality because it isn t often found in doctors
today. In an article in Life Magazine by Sue Kovach titled, Dr. Mehmet Oz: Global Medicine, Dr. Oz

Truman Doctrine Effects
The Cold war was a struggle for power between the Soviet Union and the United states going on from
the late 1940 s until the decomposition of the Soviet Union in 1991. In only a few years these World
War II partners turned into enemies locked in a global struggle with military, political, and ideological
disputes.
Americans and Soviets agreed that culture was an important weapon in the ongoing battle to influence
Europe during The Cold War. Both sides believed that expanding their way of life could be the key in
winning support for their cause. To gain this endorsement, Americans wanted to spread their high
culture by setting up free lending libraries, so Europeans can read the classic books and music from
America. Although this did not have the effect they wanted. Instead of flocking to the classics in the
library they went to the contemporary section. Then, the United States started using this love for rock
and roll to pump in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Guys Like Us Analysis
As a newly graduated journalist, Ben Woodward, from a third generation Cairns family, contributed in
the latter part of the 90s and early in the new century used his considerable talent with words to inform
the LGBT community and the general public about the latest gigs, and artists to listen to and look out

After working as a journalist at Cairns radio stations 4CA and Hot FM, in 1999 he volunteered at local
youth service YouthLink, where he started the first gay youth group in Cairns, Guys Like Us . Feeling
fortunate to have attended a similar group in Brisbane, he wanted the same opportunity for youth in

Euphemism In 1984
In the book 1984, Orwell vividly describes a society driven by a totalitarian government that thrives
on controlling what everyone does, think, or say. The main character, Winston Smith, undergoes the
loss of his distinct character as he is created in the Party s image in anticipation of him not only
obeying, but loving Big Brother. As discussed in class this novel was written not only for
entertainment or pleasure but as a warning sign to others. Throughout the novel Orwell discussed
many things that made him believe that the problems in 1984 will still exist in today s society.
Although there were numerous issues discussed I consider the most relevant were the discussions
about Big Brother, War, and Newspeak. Big Brother is Watching You , is one of the most obvious
connections between today s society and 1984. In the novel Big Brother, the supposed leader of the
Party, rules the nation of Oceania and keeps endless surveillance on the population through
telescreens. In the real world, conversely, many individuals have hand held telescreens, called
cellphones, which they carry with them mostly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1984, Orwell talks about how language can be misused to deceive the people. Today, political
precision and euphemism are equally inescapable and ridiculed. The novel also discussed the
corruption of verbal progression under the direction of Big Brother. The formation of the Newspeak
dictionary is mentioned very often in the book. The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a
moderate form of expression for Oceania but to make sure that all additional methods of thought
impossible. This is shown today by many public figures who speak on behave of the United States.
For example, Politically correct language is a form of speech that stumps thought. Autocorrect and
autocomplete functions frequently command our phrasing and the language of texting is a skill that

People Allow Adversity To Rid Them Of Hope....
People allow adversity to rid them of hope. Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut highlights the
pitfalls of mankind in their perception of love, death, war, and societal norms through the unusually
clear lenses of Billy Pilgrim. Pilgrim s acceptance towards life relieves him of the weight of the world;
however, even Pilgrim is unable to remain indifferent about war. Billy Pilgrim encounter with the
Tralfamadorians granted him an extraterrestrial way of thinking. Billy Pilgrim s profession as an

Granville Hicks notes how war leaves soldiers disillusioned and, The terrible destruction of Dresden
is... an example of the way the military mind operates (Hicks 602 603). Pilgrim sees the trivialities of
war, while exhibiting disdain for other aspects in life; this demonstrates the effect war had on him. In
Novels for Students, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. speaks about how the bombing of Dresden made the terrain
look like the moon, Pilgrim noticed that Nobody talked much as the expedition crossed the moon.
There was nothing appropriate to say. One thing was clear: Absolutely everybody in the city was
supposed to be dead, regardless of what they were, and that anybody that moved in it represented a
flaw in the design (Vonnegut 260). The soldiers, left speechless at the carnage, Pilgrim states that We
had been foolish virgins in the war, right at the end of childhood... you ll be played in the movies by
Frank Sinatra and John Wayne or some of those other glamorous, war loving, dirty old men. And war
will look just wonderful, so we ll have a lot more of them (Vonnegut 18). War lost all glamourous
appeals; the monotonous task of fighting in the military wore on Billy Pilgrim and made him question
his participation in the war. The alienating experience of war separates soldiers from everyday people;
civilians never see the horrors of war, they never see the casualties and deaths, they never suffer from
the traumas of war.

Crop Rotation Kierkegaard Analysis
In the essay Crop Rotation from his book Either/Or, Søren Kierkegaard discusses boredom, which he
considers to be a root of all evil. He argues that all men are boring and that we have been since the
creation of man. It is what drove so much of human history and continues to drive us today.
Kierkegaard then goes a step further and asserts that there are two types of boring people. The first is
someone who bores others, exemplified in the plebeians and the mass, and the second is someone who
bores himself, the elect and the nobility. The people that don t bore themselves, he argues, are people
who are constantly busy, and that is why they are so boring. The other type, which he calls the
superior ones, amuse others but bore themselves. The more profoundly they bore themselves, the more

Forgetting is an art that few people use properly. Forgetting is the shears with which one clips away
what one cannot use.. writes Kierkegaard. Forgetting effectively can combat boredom and prevent one
s sticking fast in some particular circumstance in life and ensure perfect suspension, but other
distractions from effective crop rotation still exist. Kierkegaard writes that one must be on one s guard
against friendship. Friendship, marriage and other social commitments distract from crop rotation
because they get boring. After falling in love, lovers have no direction to go but down, since marriage
comes with responsibility is ultimately boring. Kierkegaard writes that the married couple have
everything to lose and nothing to gain. Successful crop rotators will not get married or pursue any
social obligation too fervently. The goal is to be able to be interested in anything, like the prisoner in
solitary confinement. An aesthete needs more and more; a good crop rotator does not. This is called

Louis Althusser s Song All About That Bass
Meghan Trainor made headlines with her earworm hit All About That Bass. Many critics praised the
song for its message on body positivity, however, a closer look at the lyrics reveals the song is not as
positive as the general public has been led to believe. Much like John Fiske s analysis of a news
report, one can use Louis Althusser s technique to expose the bias of All About the Bass and reveal
just how the listeners of this song are being hailed. Throughout most of the song, Trainor claims she is
all about that bass, no treble, effectively creating a binary the listener must use to categorize
themselves. In order to choose a side, one must first learn what Trainor defines as bass and treble. She
answers this question with in the first chorus, stating that she is not a size two and has that boom boom
that all the boys chase. One can conclude that the bass Trainor is all about is being a woman who is a
bit more curvaceous than women who are more petite, who Trainor believes to be treble. The repeated
efforts of all about that bass is lead to hail the listeners, particularly large women of all backgrounds,
that they are more beautiful than those who are skinner. In fact, by stating this, Trainor is drawing
attention to the interpellation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Metropolitan Bishop

Before I begin my discussion I would like to provide a little background information on myself. I am
the Bishop of Antioch, I was recently appointed to this position, and I have not physically been there
yet. Prior to this appointment I was the Bishop of Syria. Since I am able to trace my lineage directly
back to the apostles of Jesus, I am considered a metropolitan bishop. As a metropolitan Bishop, I
believe that we know what is best for the church. What is best for the church is to allow the

head leaders before a person of clergy can be promoted to a bishop. In addition to this I believe that
the bishop of Jerusalem should be appointed over Palestine instead of Eusebius of Caesarea. While
Caesarea was the seat of Roman power in Palestine it has no spiritual or theological authority in the
church. Jerusalem has tires all the way back to Genesis, when Abraham went to Jerusalem to make
Thanksgiving. The key to this issue was that we are trying to make sure that everything aligns

Pglo Transformation Lab Write Up
Introduction
The transformation is the process in which the foreign cell DNA is hosted to hereditarily modify the
cell. It is very useful tool for genetics because it enables them to introduce foreign DNA into bacteria,
and useful for gene cloning in bacteria by making them carry specific gene sequences.
The DNA fragment is the blueprint for every piece of the bacteria. The information in the DNA and
RNA can be copied and translated into proteins. Depending on roles the proteins move to various part
of the bacteria, which transport the proteins around the cells. There are many different ways in which
bacteria obtain foreign DNA, involving the procedures of transformation. In transformation, bacteria
carry their DNA from the environment through their cell wall. Frederick Griffith discovers the process
of transformation in 1928 while examining virulent bacteria that cause pneumonia in mice. Griffith
used two strains of pneumococcus bacteria: a virulent, smooth strain (S strain) and a non virulent
rough strain. When mice were injected with smooth strain it killed the mice and the non virulent rough
strain, mice were healthy and alive. The mice that are exposed to r strain cells stayed healthy and

Dewey Love wants to sue Anytown Times for defamation. Per the textbook, defamation is, the
harming of a person s reputation and good name by the communication of a false statement. (Liuzzo,

Sqlite Essay
SQLite is an Open Source database. SQLite supports standard relational database features like SQL
syntax, transactions and prepared statements. The database requires limited memory at runtime
(approx. 250 KByte) which makes it a good candidate from being embedded into other runtimes.
SQLite supports the data types TEXT (similar to String in Java), INTEGER (similar to long in Java)
and REAL (similar to double in Java). All other types must be converted into one of these fields
before getting saved in the database. SQLite itself does not validate if the types written to the columns
are actually of the defined type, e.g. you can write an integer into a string column and vice versa.

Other more familiar database engines run great once you get them going. But doing the initial
installation and configuration can be intimidatingly complex.
Server less
Most SQL database engines are implemented as a separate server process. Programs that want to
access the database communicate with the server using some kind of interprocess communication
(typically TCP/IP) to send requests to the server and to receive back results. SQLite does not work this
way. With SQLite, the process that wants to access the database reads and writes directly from the
database files on disk. There is no intermediary server process. There are advantages and
disadvantages to being server less. The main advantage is that there is no separate server process to
install, setup, configure, initialize, manage, and troubleshoot. This is one reason why SQLite is a zero
configuration database engine. Programs that use SQLite require no administrative support for setting
up the database engine before they are run. Any program that is able to access the disk is able to use
an SQLite database.
On the other hand, a database engine that uses a server can provide better protection from bugs in the
client application stray pointers in a client cannot corrupt memory on the server. And because a server
is a single persistent process, it is able control database access with more precision, allowing for finer
grain locking and better concurrency.

American Lip Project Analysis
I entered the delicate balance project process with the intention of continuing the American chestnut
restoration project that I initiated last semester. I was enticed by the appeal of bringing a lapsed
keystone species back into the forests of Vermont, and the romantic legacy it might provide for my
project. Unfortunately, I encountered a few challenging roadblocks in the American chestnut project s
early stages of implementation, such as lack of availability of blight resistant seedlings and the reality
that non blight resistant seedlings would most likely die as they did at Sterling College.
Although I was enthusiastic about the hands on physical element of my original project, I did feel that
it lacked an element of social justice that I hoped to convey through my project.
Given the lackluster social implications of the chestnut project, combined with its high likelihood of
failure, I decided to look for a worthy past delicate project to continue or for a current project to join.

Victim Impact Statement Pros And Cons
Victim Impact statements (VIS) give the person or family the chance to state how they feel about the
offender and the acts that they committed. VIS can challenge the 8th amendment; however it helps the
jury to make a decision on if the person should get life or the death penalty. Most victim statements
are not all negative. The victim gets the chance to let the accused understand the hurt that they cause
the family or them. Consequently depending on the criminal they may or may not care. The writer will
report on what they believe to be the purpose and reasoning behind victim and execution impact
statements. The question is why is there so much controversy surrounding the use of victim impact

The album I chose to review was Chameleon by David Bowie. I chose Chameleon because of its
variety of genres and tempos. Chameleon tempos include fast, medium and slow. There are also happy

The album also includes Starman , 1984 , Boys keep Swinging , Beauty and the Beast , V2 Schneider ,

Heroes is about how you can do anything, including being a hero, when you re with the one you love.
This is one of my favorite songs because of the meaning of the song. This is a medium tempo song
with a happy/sad genre. My next favorite song is Sorrow . Sorrow is about how a girl treated him very
badly but he still likes her. This song has a slow tempo and is a sad genre. I like this song because of
the instruments and the lyrics used. My third favorite song in Chameleon is D.J . I like D.J because of
the lyrics. This song is about a D.J who has lost his job and isn t doing well in life but he feels as
though he still has a priority to his believers . My favorite part of the song is when he says I ve got
believers, believing me, . This song has a fast tempo and a happy/sad genre. I say this because he s

The human body is an amazingly complex system that works hard to keep itself alive and properly
functioning each and every day. From the endocrine system, all the way to the respiratory system, the
physical body is made up of various subparts, each containing organs that ultimately labor to keep a
person thriving. Ideally, the hope would be that the human body will continue to prosper, but other
factors can have a direct affect on the outcome of a person s physically functioning self. In some
cases, someone s own body can even turn against itself. In situations as such, unwanted cancers and/or
diseases may arise.
The cruciality of understanding the normal function of the human body becomes applicable when

From an endocrine functioning perspective, vital hormonal involvement allows the body to achieve
such standing. Two of the major hormones that is included in this structures endocrinal portion are
known as glucagon and insulin, and are directly produced by the pancreas islets of Langerhans (patho
144). These hormones have a purpose in the human body, specifically, sustaining blood sugar levels. A
simpler method of understanding both hormones is by considering their purpose as being the exact
opposite of one another. For instance, the pancreas secretes glucagon when a human is in a fasting
state, signifying someone is unfed. On the other hand, insulin is secreted during the body s
postprandial or fed condition (Pathp 144). Ultimately, the glucagon that is released triggers the liver to
eject stored glucose, resulting in increased blood glucose (sugar) levels. Insulin, having the reversed
effect, acts as an assistant to glucose in order to help it enter into the cells and also support its storage
formation (Patho 144). Insulin, partaking in additional purposes, also plays a critical role in boosting
free fatty acid storage and intake while also encouraging protein synthesis. By doing this, the body has
created its own source of checks and balances to ensure proper function and

The Quest For A Solution
Ten thousand years earlier, a meteor has struck planet Ethnos and the resulted impact killed almost all
its inhabitants. A few monkeys, which were near a cave, managed to run inside and luckily become
saved with the entrance of the cave collapsing and blocking the entrance to tsunamis and other
flooding. Several generations of these monkeys live happily together in the dark under the warmth of a
nearby volcano until they were able to get out of the cave and started a different journey with a blue
sun on the horizon. Now Brown and yellow, the monkeys never realized that they shared common
ancestry and their skin color was a result of their respective habitat inside the cave. They went on with
their life building different cities on this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like a plague ravaging their planet, this epidemic has been decimating all the cities on planet Ethnos
and now it was the turn of their village and their family. Concerned by the look on her mother s face,
Error tries to understand what is going on and ask her mom about the tense atmosphere in the village
and her dismal facial expression.
Iwant started recounting to her one year old girl the complicated story of their species. She began with
the meeting of the queens in which she learned about her fate as a female monkey. She said: once
every year following the last meteor catastrophe, monkey has been meeting regularly on a special
occasion to commemorate the event and learn about the skills they need to master in order to survive
and also to prepare the next generation; the meeting of the queen. She added: we have met several
groups of monkeys in that setting. One group instructed me about the first time brown monkeys and
yellow ones have met coming out of the same cave. Another group talked to me about why brown skin
monkeys were the superior monkey among all and all the privileges they were granted in their society.
They also explained to me, she exclaimed, how male monkeys were indolent, lazy, good for nothing
and were only capable of doing sexual intercourse. One older female added that these males
represented a waste in our community and only a few of them had enough strength to get a female
monkey pregnant. At this point she became really agitated and shouted

The Intelligence Cycle
Intelligence is the result of a process or a cycle as identified by the intelligence community. This cycle
involves five or six steps based on the agency s needs. These steps include planning and direction,
collection, processing, analysis and dissemination. Planning and direction step it is an important part
of the process because the essential elements of the intelligence cycle are identified especially the
collection requirements. To produce an intelligence product the information collected from the
multitude of sources available to analysts or the collections assets must be analyzed and must be
disseminated to the consumers of intelligence, so they can make the decisions. There are many types
of sources important to intelligence analyst and these are only some of them: HUMINT, SIGINT,

analysts get instant gratification. Now, with the development of the Internet, analysts can find out
large amount of information. So, is less time consuming to find some data about a certain subject. You
don t have to be an expert on WMD to know about it, because you can find lots of public information
on the Web. The disadvantage of this collection method for the analysts is that what they know and
what they can use that can make a big difference on the results of the intelligence product. Sorting the

Leading Positive Change
1. The TED talks videos of Simon Sinek and Rosabeth Moss Kanter provided me with valuable
information when it comes to inspiring others to follow your lead, as well as knowing the six
important keys to leading positive change. From Simon Sinek s presentation, I learned that the best
way to inspire others is by understanding how we lead and communicate with one another by focusing
on what others can believe in. Sinek made it clear in his presentation that the Golden Circle of why,
how, and what are what some organizations like Apple have mastered in inspired individuals to action.
Most organizations that fail to inspire others, like his example of TiVo, normally focus on telling
individuals what their products do, but the organization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do agree with this idea that if we are motivated by why we are doing something in particular for the
greater good, our actions or products will be more valuable to those around us. One of Kanter s keys
to leading to positive change that stood out to me the most was to never give up. I tend to be very hard
on myself when I am faced with an obstacle that I would consider a failure, but according to Kanter s
Law is only considered a failure if you give up. It is important to remain engaged by pushing forward
even if it takes longer than imagined because the mindset of not giving up is what Kanter considers a
hallmark of leaders . This is an important key is many of us, including myself, tend to forget that not
everything in life is perfect so it is important for us to keeping working harder to reach our goals.
Kanter s other key, which I believe is extremely important to implement in our lives to lead positive
change is to lift other up. By sharing success and credit is what helps any environment to have the
ability to be able to accomplish any task over and over successfully. I strongly agree with this idea
because I have always felt that there is always power in numbers, and if everyone is working together
by supporting one another anything can be

Naoto In Detective Prince
From the outside, Naoto seems cool, calm, and collected. At times she can come off as cold or
unemotional, but only because, despite her small stature, she attempts to put on the air of someone
much more mature than her age. Through this demeanor (and while masquerading as a male), she
earned the title of Detective Prince, and was a consultant of the police, although she also often worked
on her own. Even with this exterior, however, it s easier to illicit an emotional reaction out of Naoto
than it first appears. This is especially true when dealing with a case, or when someone close to her is
being threatened. Despite her serious appearance, she can act quite childish and narrow minded at
times.
Her work and her job is one of her driving forces; her parents were both detectives, and died during an
investigation when she was young. Partly out of adoration and partly to find her place, she started
training soon after the accident to become a detective and continue the Shirogane line. It s no small
matter; Naoto is a workaholic. Although she works as a consultant for the police, she is also often on
her own, and will fall just short of doing anything to solve a case. When it became obvious that the
police had arrested the wrong suspect in the Inaba murders, Naoto acts as a decoy (and the next
victim) by readily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

social link, she vows to keep working cases and trying harder so that she ll one day be

Bread Produced with 100% Ontario Based Flour
In January, 2013 we began our experimental work by conducting detailed analysis of results of bread
produced with 100% Ontario based flour. Since direct application of Ontario based flour resulted in
excessive dryness, and reduced volume of bread, we decided to conduct series of semi industrial trials
in order to adapt our present formula to new flour chemical composition. The objective of our
investigation in this phase was to apply Ontario flour, and get the bread with the same moisture, and
volume as it is originally.
After this first attempt in January, 2013 we firstly tried to increase gluten structure. Gluten is additive
commonly used in bakery industry which primary function is to enhance gas retention capacity, water
absorption, and retention, as well as, increase dough strength. Initially, our formula contained 3 4 % of
gluten, and we tested formulas with up to 10% of gluten. Increasing of gluten did not give significant
results, and formulas with 10% of gluten had increase of volume of about 10%. We did not test
formulas with more than 10% of gluten because it is very expensive additive, and it is not
economically to apply it in higher concentrations.
After learning that gluten does not give expected results, our next step was increasing protein level by
introducing the balancing the flours. We decided to introduce harder wheat flours with higher
concentration of proteins. Average protein level of Ontario flour is 10.5%, while west flours contain

Burt s Bees Market Opportunity Factors Essay
Burt s Bees Marketing Opportunity Factors
Burt s Bees started out as a candle making company in 1984 and has grown into a recognized brand in
the natural personal care products market. They entered the natural personal care products market in
1991 with the creation of their Beeswax Lip Balm, which is still their leading bestseller. They
expanded their business in 1991 by moving to North Carolina where they are still headquartered
today. In 1999, they began their global expansion. In 2006, they began distributing their products to
drugstores and other retail centers to allow the mass market the ability to buy natural made products.

Environmental Elements
Several environmental elements may affect Burt s Bees. These include legal, demographic, economic
and cultural social.
Legal: Aside from being a natural product, Burt s Bees is also valued for being a cruelty free company.
They do not conduct product or ingredient tests on animals (Burt s Bees, 2013). Currently, China
requires animal testing for cosmetic products. As such, Burt s Bees cannot sell in the Chinese market,
unless they changed their philosophy and tested their products on animals. While changing their
philosophy might allow them to enter the Chinese market, there is likely to be backlash from their
consumers who value their cruelty free philosophy. China is currently reconsidering their animal
testing requirements for non specialized cosmetics manufactured in China starting in June 2014. This
politic/legal shift could create new business opportunities for cruelty free companies to begin
manufacturing and selling their cosmetics in China (a $22B cosmetic market (Reuters, 2013).
Demographic: Burt s Bees philosophy is to attract an educated youthful market and establish brand
loyalty at a young age. Increased or decreases in population size, age mix, and education levels could
increase or decrease Burt s Bees target demographic.
Economic: An economic downturn could affect the sales of Burt s Bees products. While a large
percentage of customers are loyal due to Burt s Bees their natural and/or

Birds In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Birds are a common sight in most places people tend to be. These winged creatures are seen in
bustling places like the pigeons that are in urban and suburban areas, the woodpeckers in rural regions,
the crows on farms, and even in cages within buildings. In fact, these elegant creatures are so common
a sight in society that they are often overlooked and underappreciated. This is similar to how women
were and sometimes still are treated within society; they are given little appreciation when they are
present and doing as they are told, but when they do not do as they are told they become a problem.
This parallel that can be drawn between women and birds is used throughout Kate Chopin s novel,
The Awakening, in which its main character Edna Pontellier is often likened to and symbolized by a
bird. Throughout the novel, the bird acts as a theme and symbol of both Edna and women in general.
To start, many comparisons can be drawn between Edna and an imprisoned bird. The first lines of the
novel describe [a] green and yellow parrot, which hung in a cage outside the door (Chopin 5). Starting
at the bird s physical description, the brightly colored feathers of this creature strongly represent the
power and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the main character was unable to survive her flight, many other women both in the novel and
in reality were able to embark and finish theirs. And the interesting thing about it is that these fictional
and nonfictional females inspired each other to go forth and attempt their metaphorical and literal
journeys even if there is a chance they are unable to succeed. It is because of these brave birds that
women s roles in society have changed so greatly within the last century. In no other time in history
has there been such an expansion in women s rights and roles and it is all due to women both real and
fictional who went against societal

Theories Of Virtue Ethics
Summary of Virtue Ethics. For a non consequential theory, I will use Virtue Ethics. This theory is
developed by philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. All of them have a different perspective of
the theory, but they have the same central principle of Virtue Ethics, which is a personal character to
lead to happiness and fulfillment in one s life. There are two different types of virtues in Aristotle s
Theory: Intellectual virtues and moral virtues. The intellectual virtues reflect what is unique and
important about human nature across the board, but the moral virtues conduct well the normal affairs
of daily life in society. In addition, Virtue Ethics has ancient roots, in both Latin and Greek culture, it
means excellence in being a model person. Therefore, it helps you to live the good life. While,

Self control is the ability to control oneself about one s emotions and behaviors. Therefore, if one
doesn t have this ability, then he or she will react with one s passion for every situation or conflict. It
sounds more tired and getting more stress. Care is one of the important virtues. It makes you to feel
comfortable and warm. Additionally, courage is important, too. All the time when you start something
new, you need the courage to act. These virtues will affect your life.
Applying Virtue Ethics. There are three steps to apply Virtue Ethics. First, determine the virtues called
for by the situation. Secondly, evaluate options, looking for Golden Mean solutions. Golden Mean is
the ideal moderate position between two extremes. For the last step is choosing the wisest course of
action, consistent with the virtues and the Golden Mean. The ethical decision should make the
stakeholders lives are more beneficial. The evaluated options are below:

Difference between Good Samaritan rule and the American bystander rule 1
What is the Good Samaritan rule and when does it apply. A Good Samaritan is an individual who
usually goes out of their way to help someone or somebody in a time of need. This can be carried out
in the time of an emergency on a voluntary basis. Under this rule a person is not legally obligated to
render aid to someone unless they are in unconscious state and cannot respond.
Another fact about this rule is that in some states they will grant you immunity to good Samaritans,

  • 2. Field Of Drones Research Paper It was early dawn at the Huntington Beach Pier in California when I was first and rarely dumbfounded by my first witnessing of a drone in action. I had just finished eating breakfast with my father and we were then progressing towards the parking lot. As we were approaching the end of the pier, an irregular sound magnified in volume. At the point where the noise reached its peak, an unnatural wind, unknown to my senses, gusted from above. I felt feverish taps on my right arm only to see my dad pointing at the sky above. I swiftly turn my head thinking about what had caused such question. At the time I recall describing the object as a strange toy helicopter, and it was rapidly advancing towards its operator. Our walking speed that morning made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This urge to know more lead me to consider purchasing a drone for myself, but there were a few problems about that consideration. I didn t have a complete understanding about drone maneuverability and regulations which lead me to speculate whether or not to begin exploring the field of drones. My desire to study about unmanned aerial systems strengthened over the next couple of years, but I couldn t find many lessons that were interactive and thorough enough. I find it amazing how a brand new view of the ground below can be accessed with such a small and agile product. For a great portion of my existence, I always thought that huge aircrafts would be the only functionable creations that would be able to fly the skies, so when I first witnessed the potential of these aerial systems, I was quickly captivated to properly wield one someday. The feature of recording flights was also mind blowing because it opened a new way to express the world around us through film. It s amazing how creative content creators can be when using them. Being able to easily access a new way to express oneself is a progression into the future we have set for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mozart s First Concerto In seventeen eighty four, Mozart started to work on this beautiful concerto. On the seventh day of March in seventeen eighty six, around the same time when Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) appeared, he finished the magnificent concerto. The lovely concerto contains many instruments, including the piano, two clarinets, the flute, two horns, two bassoons, and string instruments. Heaven only knows for sure where and when the first concerto was performed. However, on the twelfth day of January in nineteen thirty, George Stewart McManus performed the marvelous concerto in Los Angeles for the first time. The delightful concerto s duration is no longer than twenty six minutes. Since early seventeen eighty six, around the time when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the Exposition theme is restated as part of the movement, it is known as the Recapitulation. In Mozart s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, the Recapitulation is when the soloist is accompanied by the orchestra. There are many similarities between the exposition description and the recapitulation description. However, there are also quite a few differences. The first theme group in the exposition lasts from measures one through sixty six, whereas the first theme group in the recapitulation lasts from measures begins at measure one hundred and ninety eight, and then ends at two hundred and eighty four. The first theme group of the exposition has a two bar cadential extension with a sixteen bar double period. Many wonder how the first theme in the recapitulation is derived from the exposition? That is because there is and exposition version of the variation that has no extensions. In the Exposition, the transition lasts from measures eighteen through thirty three. In the Recapitulation, the transition lasts from two hundred and thirteenth measure to the two hundred and twenty eighth measure. The second theme of the recapitulation is derived from the exposition, because the second theme of the exposition has a thirty one to forty six bar double period, along with a seven bar shortened sentence, a three bar interpolation, and closing with a four bar phrase. • 4. The Humoral Theory Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet The humoral theory is one of the oldest theories of Medicine that proposed that our bodies are made up of four different humours: black bile, blood, phlegm, and yellow bile. It was believed that while in good health the humours were in a harmonious balance throughout the body but illness is said to have disrupted that balance causing one or more humour to become disordered. It is also said that the mind is effected by the equilibrium of the four temperaments known as melancholic, sanguine, choleric, and phlegmatic and that they dispersed to make up certain characteristics or personality traits. Critics have long described Shakespeare as using these humours and temperaments as a way for the audience to understand the character, plot and other aspects of his plays. In such plays as Romeo and Juliet where critics have described Romeo as being a melancholy figure it is exceptionally brought about by using the four humours involved in the humoral theory that is said to have first originated by Hippocrates and later elaborated on by Galen. The four humours include Black Bile which is related to the melancholic temperament and said to be associated with the element earth, the season of winter, the planet Saturn, the spleen, and cold and dry qualities. The humour Blood is related to the sanguine temperament and associated with the element air, the season spring, the planet Jupiter, the heart, and hot and moist qualities. • 5. Jack Kerouac and The Beat Generation Essay Born to die The Beat Generation, made up of writers, artists and misfits, was forged not long after the end of World War II. People wanted change, the old ways and traditions were slowly being neglected and social rules of that time were put into question. The Beat Generation were the ones leading the way in questioning the old rules and regulations not because they wanted to but because America wanted it. The Beat Generation was a bohemian hipster like movement that got its drive and inspiration from sexuality, drugs, booze, crazy people and situations and religions like Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells many that life should be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest before death comes creeping along. Humans create this false pursuit of happiness before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death. Religious beliefs teach humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in north America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack Kerouac is inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of Tristessa s junk addiction and how she embraces death even though her life is miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about death and many artists from that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in humans. Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth about the human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so much like Tristessa s eyes that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast the dove s eyes. (Kerouac 26) the Dove represents the communication between the two worlds and more importantly it represents peace of the deepest kind. It sooths all our worries and troubled thoughts. It helps to appreciate the little things in life. • 7. Truman Doctrine Effects The Cold war was a struggle for power between the Soviet Union and the United states going on from the late 1940 s until the decomposition of the Soviet Union in 1991. In only a few years these World War II partners turned into enemies locked in a global struggle with military, political, and ideological disputes. Americans and Soviets agreed that culture was an important weapon in the ongoing battle to influence Europe during The Cold War. Both sides believed that expanding their way of life could be the key in winning support for their cause. To gain this endorsement, Americans wanted to spread their high culture by setting up free lending libraries, so Europeans can read the classic books and music from America. • 9. Euphemism In 1984 In the book 1984, Orwell vividly describes a society driven by a totalitarian government that thrives on controlling what everyone does, think, or say. The main character, Winston Smith, undergoes the loss of his distinct character as he is created in the Party s image in anticipation of him not only obeying, but loving Big Brother. As discussed in class this novel was written not only for entertainment or pleasure but as a warning sign to others. Throughout the novel Orwell discussed many things that made him believe that the problems in 1984 will still exist in today s society. Although there were numerous issues discussed I consider the most relevant were the discussions about Big Brother, War, and Newspeak. Big Brother is Watching You , is one of the most obvious connections between today s society and 1984. Pilgrim sees the trivialities of war, while exhibiting disdain for other aspects in life; this demonstrates the effect war had on him. In Novels for Students, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. speaks about how the bombing of Dresden made the terrain look like the moon, Pilgrim noticed that Nobody talked much as the expedition crossed the moon. There was nothing appropriate to say. One thing was clear: Absolutely everybody in the city was supposed to be dead, regardless of what they were, and that anybody that moved in it represented a flaw in the design (Vonnegut 260). And war will look just wonderful, so we ll have a lot more of them (Vonnegut 18). War lost all glamourous appeals; the monotonous task of fighting in the military wore on Billy Pilgrim and made him question his participation in the war. • 11. Crop Rotation Kierkegaard Analysis In the essay Crop Rotation from his book Either/Or, Søren Kierkegaard discusses boredom, which he considers to be a root of all evil. He argues that all men are boring and that we have been since the creation of man. It is what drove so much of human history and continues to drive us today. Kierkegaard then goes a step further and asserts that there are two types of boring people. The first is someone who bores others, exemplified in the plebeians and the mass, and the second is someone who bores himself, the elect and the nobility. The people that don t bore themselves, he argues, are people who are constantly busy, and that is why they are so boring. Kierkegaard writes that one must be on one s guard against friendship. Friendship, marriage and other social commitments distract from crop rotation because they get boring. After falling in love, lovers have no direction to go but down, since marriage comes with responsibility is ultimately boring. • 12. Louis Althusser s Song All About That Bass Meghan Trainor made headlines with her earworm hit All About That Bass. Many critics praised the song for its message on body positivity, however, a closer look at the lyrics reveals the song is not as positive as the general public has been led to believe. Much like John Fiske s analysis of a news report, one can use Louis Althusser s technique to expose the bias of All About the Bass and reveal just how the listeners of this song are being hailed. Throughout most of the song, Trainor claims she is all about that bass, no treble, effectively creating a binary the listener must use to categorize themselves. In order to choose a side, one must first learn what Trainor defines as bass and treble. She answers this question with in the first chorus, stating that she is not a size two and has that boom boom that all the boys chase. One can conclude that the bass Trainor is all about is being a woman who is a bit more curvaceous than women who are more petite, who Trainor believes to be treble. The repeated efforts of all about that bass is lead to hail the listeners, particularly large women of all backgrounds, that they are more beautiful than those who are skinner. I am the Bishop of Antioch, I was recently appointed to this position, and I have not physically been there yet. Prior to this appointment I was the Bishop of Syria. Since I am able to trace my lineage directly back to the apostles of Jesus, I am considered a metropolitan bishop. As a metropolitan Bishop, I believe that we know what is best for the church. • 14. Pglo Transformation Lab Write Up Introduction The transformation is the process in which the foreign cell DNA is hosted to hereditarily modify the cell. It is very useful tool for genetics because it enables them to introduce foreign DNA into bacteria, and useful for gene cloning in bacteria by making them carry specific gene sequences. The DNA fragment is the blueprint for every piece of the bacteria. The information in the DNA and RNA can be copied and translated into proteins. Depending on roles the proteins move to various part of the bacteria, which transport the proteins around the cells. There are many different ways in which bacteria obtain foreign DNA, involving the procedures of transformation. In transformation, bacteria carry their DNA from the environment through their cell wall. Frederick Griffith discovers the process of transformation in 1928 while examining virulent bacteria that cause pneumonia in mice. Griffith used two strains of pneumococcus bacteria: a virulent, smooth strain (S strain) and a non virulent rough strain. When mice were injected with smooth strain it killed the mice and the non virulent rough strain, mice were healthy and alive. The database requires limited memory at runtime (approx. 250 KByte) which makes it a good candidate from being embedded into other runtimes. SQLite supports the data types TEXT (similar to String in Java), INTEGER (similar to long in Java) and REAL (similar to double in Java). All other types must be converted into one of these fields before getting saved in the database. Programs that want to access the database communicate with the server using some kind of interprocess communication (typically TCP/IP) to send requests to the server and to receive back results. SQLite does not work this way. With SQLite, the process that wants to access the database reads and writes directly from the database files on disk. There is no intermediary server process. There are advantages and disadvantages to being server less. The main advantage is that there is no separate server process to install, setup, configure, initialize, manage, and troubleshoot. This is one reason why SQLite is a zero configuration database engine. Programs that use SQLite require no administrative support for setting up the database engine before they are run. Any program that is able to access the disk is able to use an SQLite database. On the other hand, a database engine that uses a server can provide better protection from bugs in the client application stray pointers in a client cannot corrupt memory on the server. I was enticed by the appeal of bringing a lapsed keystone species back into the forests of Vermont, and the romantic legacy it might provide for my project. Unfortunately, I encountered a few challenging roadblocks in the American chestnut project s early stages of implementation, such as lack of availability of blight resistant seedlings and the reality that non blight resistant seedlings would most likely die as they did at Sterling College. Two of the major hormones that is included in this structures endocrinal portion are known as glucagon and insulin, and are directly produced by the pancreas islets of Langerhans (patho 144). These hormones have a purpose in the human body, specifically, sustaining blood sugar levels. A simpler method of understanding both hormones is by considering their purpose as being the exact opposite of one another. For instance, the pancreas secretes glucagon when a human is in a fasting state, signifying someone is unfed. On the other hand, insulin is secreted during the body s postprandial or fed condition (Pathp 144). Ultimately, the glucagon that is released triggers the liver to eject stored glucose, resulting in increased blood glucose (sugar) levels. Insulin, having the reversed effect, acts as an assistant to glucose in order to help it enter into the cells and also support its storage formation (Patho 144). Insulin, partaking in additional purposes, also plays a critical role in boosting free fatty acid storage and intake while also encouraging protein synthesis. Since direct application of Ontario based flour resulted in excessive dryness, and reduced volume of bread, we decided to conduct series of semi industrial trials in order to adapt our present formula to new flour chemical composition. The objective of our investigation in this phase was to apply Ontario flour, and get the bread with the same moisture, and volume as it is originally. After this first attempt in January, 2013 we firstly tried to increase gluten structure. Gluten is additive commonly used in bakery industry which primary function is to enhance gas retention capacity, water absorption, and retention, as well as, increase dough strength. Initially, our formula contained 3 4 % of gluten, and we tested formulas with up to 10% of gluten. Increasing of gluten did not give significant results, and formulas with 10% of gluten had increase of volume of about 10%. We did not test formulas with more than 10% of gluten because it is very expensive additive, and it is not economically to apply it in higher concentrations. After learning that gluten does not give expected results, our next step was increasing protein level by introducing the balancing the flours. We decided to introduce harder wheat flours with higher concentration of proteins. Average protein level of Ontario flour is 10.5%, while west flours contain 12.7 ± ... These winged creatures are seen in bustling places like the pigeons that are in urban and suburban areas, the woodpeckers in rural regions, the crows on farms, and even in cages within buildings. In fact, these elegant creatures are so common a sight in society that they are often overlooked and underappreciated. This is similar to how women were and sometimes still are treated within society; they are given little appreciation when they are present and doing as they are told, but when they do not do as they are told they become a problem. This parallel that can be drawn between women and birds is used throughout Kate Chopin s novel, The Awakening, in which its main character Edna Pontellier is often likened to and symbolized by a bird.
