Jarno reflects on improvements in his English presentation skills over the semester. His goal was to improve his presentations, which he saw as the most important aspect of language learning. His first Pecha Kucha presentation did not go well due to having too much text, but his second persuasive presentation went much better after speaking more slowly and relaxed. Jarno acknowledges that language skills are important for his future career, and while he is not naturally talented with languages, he will work hard in his remaining marketing degree language courses to succeed. He appreciated the creative, hands-on teaching style this semester and feels it was more effective for learning English than theoretical lessons alone.

Firstof all,I wantedto achieve thatmypresentationswouldimprove.WhyIwantthat the most is
because Ithinkthat’sthe mostimportantthingwhenitcomesto learningalanguage.The
presentationswere mostof all the makingof a slide show togetherwithaspeakingexercise.The
slide showisn’tthatimportanttoimprove myEnglish,itjustaddsomethingvisual andit’seasyas
guide throughyourpresentation.Everyonecanmake a good slide show butnoteveryone cantalk
fluentlyEnglish,me neither,sothat’sthe reasonwhyI definitelywillimprovemypresentationskills.
It helpsonlywhenyoutalkalot I think.The firstlessonswentwell.We didsome unitpreparations
and some casesingroup indifferentforms.Ourfirstreal presentationswasaPechaKucha
presentationwhichwasnotthat well inmycase.I had too muchtextinmy thoughtsto sayin the
limitedtime soIwasgettingtrouble anditwentwrong.It wasn’tthatgood buta PechaKucha
presentationisreallyinterestingtodointhe future and I definitelywoulddothat.Our secondreal
presentationwastopersuade ouraudience.Thatwentmuchbetterbecause of we talkedveryslow
and we were veryrelaxed.Ithinkthatitwasmuch betterthanthe previoustime andIwasgetting
confidence withasresultthatwe justanswersthe questionsof the otherstudentsandthe teacher
on an easyand relaxedwayandIthinkthat’sthe meaningof learningalanguage.
I knowhowimportantlanguagesare whenwe are goingto start witha workingcareerandI thinkI
made progressionsince the beginningof the year.Ialso made all the exercisesinthe portfolioand
some preparationsforthe Unitsthat we’ve discussedinclass. NeverthelessIknow thatI am nota
natural talentinlanguagessoI’maware of the fact that I must do my bestinthe future tosucceed
my 3 language yearsinMarketing.
The lessonswere verygood.It’sthe firsttime Ihad experience withsucha mannerof teachingandI
have to admitthat it’s more efficienttolearnEnglishthanall the theoretical lessons.The creativity
that we getfrom youis the mostvaluable.Otherwisewe doeverythingwhatiswrittenonChamilo
but nowwe getthe opportunitytocreate somethingthatisoursand where we are proudof.
In myopinion,everythingmaystaylike thissemesterbecause it’saverygoodmethodandI thinkI’m
not the onlyone withthatopinion.Like we’vealreadytoldinclass,there shouldbe more lessons
withthe same methodof teaching. Ihope not to see youback inclass because inthe third yearwe
have apparentlysomeoneelse.Iwishyouall the bestandthanksfor the semester.
