IHOP Atlanta
Thursday afternoon, April 6th at 12:00, I attended International House of Prayer Atlanta (IHOP)
located in Lawrenceville, Ga. There are three key components to the IHOP Atlanta Missions
Base: 1) Prayer 2) Mission and 3) Community. IHOP Atlanta has a very contemporary worship
space. Hence, the devotional prayer room, which in most churches would be considered their
sanctuary, is the centerpiece of all that they do. Per the signage that is placed at the entrance of
the prayer room, group prayer at IHOP Atlanta is facilitated by way of their corporate intercession
sets which is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. IHOP Atlanta believes this worship space of
prayer ascends from one s hearts to the throne of God. As I entered the space, I noticed... Show

The music was indeed freeing, revitalizing, and refreshing. It evoked powerful emotions which is
hard to express. There is no language I may write that will effectively communicate how
liberating the music made me feel. But, if I had to try, I must say I was mostly impressed how
the music became the conduit where I could experience God s peace and presence. My body,
mind and soul connection to the music encoded a deep anointing on my spirit. The music involved
a combined shift of body jerking pulses with rise and fall intensity. Which created an emotional
roller coaster for me. One minute my body was twisting and jerking to earsplitting rock roll and the
next minute I was immersed in a near trance inducing atmosphere in which the music toned down to
a more mystical sensation that moved me to tears.
The Weakness of this Contemporary Worship I believe my biggest critique with this style of
worship is that I question if music is enough. Does music make true transformation in the way
worship shapes our affections, values, perceptions and beliefs? Sure, good music add to the
experience of worship and it may enhance someone s spiritual walk. But, does it build a true
sustaining relationship with God or with the people of God? Thus, it is my belief that music only
functions as background, mostly on the surface and not real

Analysis Of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee
Growth and Acceptance The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was done wonderfully
and quite entertaining. While a musical about a spelling bee does not sound like the most
exciting thing to watch, the performances by each actor provided a great atmosphere for the
production. Going into the play, I was expecting it to be a kid s show, which kids would enjoy
the musical but may not quite get all of the jokes. The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee was
more aimed at adults. Every adult that was watching the play, myself included, was rolling out
of their seats. The play managed to be engaging and funny throughout the entire play. Within the
play, each actor has a different background story. Each actor in the play, plays a big role and
stood out in their own specific way. Also, this specific play differs from the other plays we have
seen but it has few similarities. Beginning, the 25TH Annual Putnam Spelling Bee play overall is
a musical comedy. The play was more fast paced, more laughing was involved and much more
singing. Which led to the play in particular being quite more engaging than others. The production
in this play differed from the other plays we ve seen. The audience interaction was the best part of
the production. One difference to me is the play involved four people from the audience to
participate as actors in the play. Not knowing exactly what their purpose is in the play, just
generously volunteering as a spelling bee contestant. Another aspect that differed

El Chuco
My mind will often wander to all the places I ve lived in and all those I would love to travel to, or
visit again. I remember the cool streets of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and how it compares to the
over 100 degree temperature of where I am now, the dry heat of El Paso, Texas, a place I often
come back to. The soil where my roots are forever ingrained in. El Paso has grown significantly in
the past 10 years alone, and is currently the sixth most populous city in Texas(World Population
Review). It s far from it s days when it was widely known as El Chuco, or ChucoTown, nicknames
whose origins and meaning have long been debated, but no matter how much of the new generation

It s was the heart of the Mexican diaspora, claims Yolanda ChГЎvez Leyva, chair of the University

location, the first stop until immigrants could make enough money to move elsewhere. However,
times have always been tough and discrimination has always had a way of making people feel lost
even in a place that should have been their home. Eventually a community began to flourish and
Segundo Barrio became an extension of Mexico, a home away from home, or as my mother tells
me a community inside of a community, which is most likely where the first part Segundo
comes from. Home is what you make of it, and El Paso was home to many, but a community is
what develops over time and is a connection made between people and place. My neighbor and
friend, Margarita Martinez, would joke with me about how no matter where her brother goes in
the U.S. whenever he wears a shirt from a local and long established restaurant he always gets
people that come up to him and talk with him as if they were old friends that were catching up
with each other. They would talk about where they grew up and the connection they have with the

Gap Inc. Essay
As a citizen of America you have definitely seen a store owned by Gap Inc. such as stores like
Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Etc. These stores represent an ionic and proud American store
since 1969 which has multiplied since they opened their first store in San Francisco. This marked
the first of many stores that would open and take over America. Gapbecame an icon as it started to
multiply as larger variety stores came about. Such stores as Old Navy taking over the lower
budget gap clothing to Gap as a middle budget and on to Banana Republic which serves as a high

This so called thing now has become a fashion statement as Women will always be on an endless
quest for that great pair of jeans because the denim industry keeps evolving and growing
(WGSN.com). This is an example of the same situation that Don and Doris had to undergo and
now 42 years later it s still an issue. After all these years now they are the leading international
specialty retailer with five different brands. Behind the 3000 stores and 5 different brands come
134,000 employees. That is four times the population of Lichtenstein which is a small country

stands out in the fashion industry and with this many designers, managers, sales associates, and
other leading roles Gap Inc. stands to make a difference in the way people dress. They are so
forward in their attempt to change the way of fashion that they have opened up new stores in new
countries such as Italy, China, and Australia, thus bringing once a pair of jeans to a multitude of
different apparel items. These new countries that have Gap Inc. stores popping up shows Gap Inc.

Tragic Events In Paris Research Paper
On November 13, 2015 Paris was stuck with a variety of attacks, which had a lasting impact on
the culture in Paris, as well as many other places. There were a series of planned terrorist attacks
that occurred in Paris, the capital of France, and a Northern suburb Saint Denis. The Islamic State
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) took responsibility for these events just a few days after they
occurred. They claimed that the reason behind this was due to a retaliation to the French. Not only
did this striking event effect Paris and the surrounding cities, but it also effected many other people
in different countries by watching the tragedy unfold. During these attacks hundreds were killed
and many were injured. Paris has been in a state of mourning... Show more content on

When events such as these occur, it reminds us all that this could happen to any of us and it help
cultures become more aware in many ways. People often times can become hardened to these
types of events because a lot of us never think it will happen to us, until they start occurring more
and becoming more real to us. This tragic event brought the people of Paris together while they
mourned the loss of so many. Events like these are often significant to cultures as well, because
often times it draws everyone to come together and support one another in hard times such as
these. All throughout our culture we are seeing more and more the true depravity of humans and
the consequence of sin. This is not the first disastrous event that ISIS has caused on a country and
it will not be the last. One of the main ways that this situation could be changed would be by
taking out ISIS. ISIS has become a very big terrorist group and effects many countries. They are
clearly not done with their attacks and it seems that they will continue to do so until they are
stopped. To truly change this situation and prevent it from happening anymore, ISIS will need to be
taken out or this will continue to happen to different

Analysis Of The Movie Fall Arrives
Fall arrives in the city with cool, crisp winds that brush leaves from the ground into the air in a
slow churning whirlwind causing them to dance about, descending to the moist ground. A
yellow cab is patiently circling the neighborhood in search of fares, which has been a twenty
year practice of Max a stout, older man with a protruding belly that strains the buttons of his
faded, much wrinkled shirt. He slowly drinks a cup of lukewarm coffee singing my mama told
me you better shop around... He looks up at the sky at dark, overcast clouds, Looks like rain today
he says. Max knows the streets of his hometown better than anyone around. He typically works on
the east side of the city around the old Elmhurst Cemetery. Most people don t venture close to the
cemetery claiming that they often see a young womanwalking through it. They are convinced she
is a ghost looking for revenge, but these stories never bother Max nor had he ever seen this ghostly
young woman.
Drops of rain begin to tap his windshield, but not enough for Max to engage his wipers. He
continues to drive, sip on his coffee, singing until the rain begins to violently pound his cab
prompting him to slam on his brakes. The cab swerves, his coffee spills on his chest and runs
down his belly, Crap! Max exclaims in frustration. With his cab still swerving, he comes close to
hitting a young woman crossing the street near the cemetery just before he stops short of hitting
her left leg. He was shocked to see someone

Environmental Effects On Environment

Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have
caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions
years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a
prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have
changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has
reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De
Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime Americanfarmland are lost to
development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is gone forever. The very thing that
humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits
but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive.
What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude
that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are
doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the
climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million acres of agricultural land has been
developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills

Costco is one of the largest retail stores in the wholesale industry. Costco mission is to offer their
customers low prices on both private and limited selection of nationally branded products in a wide
range of merchandise categories. Businesses and families rely on Costco to offer them high quality
products and services at everyday low prices. As stated in the 2006 Annual Report: rapid inventory

We found that by compensating employees generously to motivate and retain good workers,
one fifth of whom are unionizes, Costco gets lower turnover and higher productivity. Combined
with a smart business strategy that sells a mix of higher margin products to more affluent
customers, Costco actually keeps its labor costs lower than Wal Mart s as a percentage of sales,
and its 68, 000 hourly workers in the U.S. sell more per square foot. Put another way, the 102,
000 Sam s employees in the U.S. generated some $35 billion in sales last year, while Costco did
$34 billion with one third fewer employees (Holmes and Zellner, 2004). Costco Generic Strategy
Costco generic strategy is the Low Cost Provider Strategy. According to Thompson, Strickland,
and Gamble, low cost provider strategy is striving to achieve lower overall costs than rivals and
appealing to a broad spectrum of customers, usually by under pricing rivals . (Thompson et al.,
2008). Costco was successful in has successfully implemented low cost strategy by driving costs out
of their businesses, through low pricing, limited product selection, and a treasure hunt shopping
environment. Pricing is Costco key element of their low cost strategy. They implement their pricing
strategy by capping its markup on brand name merchandise at 14% and markups on their private
label items can be no higher than 15%. This strategy has kept Costco customers

Benjamin Franklin s The Speech Of Miss Polly Baker
The Speech of Miss Polly Baker Benjamin Franklin s life and writing can easily be used to help
one become a model and picturesque citizen. Throughout time Franklin used many pseudonyms
in his periodical writings in order to make his point known about the fallacies in court rulings of
the colonial times. One of his most famous articles written using a pseudonym were The Speech
of Miss Polly Baker. This story was about a woman that was being prosecuted for the fifth time
for having a bastard child and which one of the judges decided to marry her the next day. It is
believed that Franklin was influenced by this letter because he was a man that had an illegitimate
child, and also had a common law marriage which would allow many people to consider him a
womanizer. However, there are quite a few purposes that help Franklin present The Speech of Miss
Polly Baker. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franklin obviously felt that the Victorian thoughts of a women being a seductive only to their
husband had become old. However, people of Philadelphia still felt that women seduced their man
by virtue rather than to a complete vice. Throughout his letter there are many challenges of
judicial philosophy. It seemed as if he felt that if he did not speak up for women then society may
ignore the fact that most women were being treated unjust throughout the judicial system. Other
purposes of the pseudonym would be the fact that most women of the eighteenth century were
not capable of being quite as educated as the men of the century. Most women were thought of
as modern day stay at home mothers. If Franklin were to use his given name then he may have
been viewed as a lower class. Also, the perspective of a woman giving a speech would have a larger
impact of emotion, almost as it were giving Franklin first person

How Does Kathryn Bigelow Use Camera Angles In The Hurt Locker
The Hurt Locker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, was shot in a boots on the ground reporter style

what happens that we would otherwise miss in real time, thus, drawing the viewer deeper in by
heightening the raw comprehension of the moment. The opening scene establishes a three man

begins to build as he begins the long walk and the point of view becomes that of the Iraqi
civilians that are watching from the rooftop, or at least thats what we are led to believe. The
shot then becomes POV from the gun scope where we see a man casually watching from a
balcony. These quick cut back and forth, jumpy shots are all over the place putting nerves on
edge. We begin to feel the stress as all camera angles are shown to us from everyones point of
view in the scene, along with close ups to long shots. While Thomson is walking towards the
bomb, his breathing becomes louder and his walking is a little slower than expected for his
confidence level. The camera moves between close up and wide angle and it feels as though it is
taking forever for him to get there. We are then close up watching Thomson as if we are walking in

Reasons Why Urban And Rural Areas Are Interdependent On...
INTRODUCTION
Currently, most of the world s population is living in urban areas which have implications for land
use and land changes, use of natural resources, and the absorption of rural labour in urban areas.
The rural and urban interdependence means the flow of natural resources, agricultural commodity,
money, information and services between rural and urban areas. Moreover, the rural population is
adopting the urban style and behaviour or is becoming socially urbanized. According to Steinberg
(2014) economic development and natural resource use and as well as livelihoods bind urban and
rural areas together. These indicate that urban and rural areas have a symbiotic relationship, which
makes them to depend on each other. Thus, one area needs the other to function and develop. This
essay will outline and discuss the ways and reasons why urban and rural areas are interdependent on
each other.

The Consequences of Continued Use of Nuclear Power Plants...
The Consequences of Continued Use of Nuclear Power Plants in the USA
Introduction
According to the most conservative estimates, century energy consumption will double in the
world by the middle of the 21th century (Beretta). It will happen as a result of the population
growth and other geopolitical and economic factors. Thus, the electricity will be required in order
to receive a sustainable development of fuel hydrogen, and provide people with fresh water.
Despite the recent tragic events in Japan and a splash of public distrust to the peaceful atom ,
nuclear power continues to be one of the most promising areas. Demand for electricity, which is
growing along with the development of the world economy, requires the construction of new ...

9). Usually receiving the nuclear energy requires a nuclear chain reaction of nuclear fission of
uranium 235 or plutonium. Kernels start dividing after hit by a neutron. It provides new neutrons
and fission fragments. Neutrons and fission fragments have a high kinetic energy. Because of
collisions with other atoms fragments, the kinetic energy transforms into heat. Nuclear fusion is
another way to release nuclear energy. Two nuclei of light elements combine in one grave. Such
processes occur on the Sun. Many atomic nuclei are unstable. Over time, some of these nuclei
spontaneously convert into other nuclei, releasing energy. This phenomenon is called a radioactive
decay. Nuclear energy is produced in nuclear power plants, used in nuclear powered icebreakers
and nuclear submarines. The United States is running a program for developing nuclear engine for
spacecraft. Nuclear energetics is an energy sector, which is engaged in the production of electricity
and heat by converting nuclear energy.
Factors of the Development of Nuclear Energy
The first industrial nuclear power plant with capacity of 5 MW was put into operation in the
USSR (the city of Obninsk) in 1954 (World Energy Council 7). Advanced industrial countries
began to design and build nuclear power plants with reactors of different types. By 1964, the total
capacity of nuclear power plants rose to 5 million kW in the world.

depending on debris flow types (h/de50). If debris flows were thin, then the grain size has little
influence on the velocity of the flow. In contrast, if debris flows were thick and viscous, the grain
size would have the more prominent impact on debris flows. As we can extract from figure 14, the
absolute multipliers are both small for the liquidand solid phase that give rise to the barely
perceptible influence on debris flow velocity. Nevertheless, the grain size has positive effect on
liquid phase, while grain size has negative effect on solid phase hinge on the figure and the model.
As comparing +(гЂ–2dгЂ—_e гЂ–(1 П†)гЂ—^2)/(3kПЃ_f ) the multiplier stands for liquid phase,

know that as density of liquid phase is smaller than solid phase (Guo et al., 2014), thereby the
divisor for the liquid phase multiplier is smaller than that of the solid phase, so that the absolute
number for multiplier of liquid phase is larger than solid phase. Likewise, as the liquid phase uses
plus and solid phase uses minus, they explain the positive relationship or negative relationship
between the velocity and the grain size. This may be backed up

The Second And Current Republic
Introduction
From French revolution in 1789, France has had five different republican systems. The fifth and
current republic was an outcome to the Algerian crisis in 1950 s.
The First Republic began with the fall of King Louis XVI in 1792 and ended with Napoleon
Bonaparte declaring himself emperor of the First French Empire in 1804. After Napoleon s
empire had ended, a period of monarchies followed, until the 1848 Revolution saw the birth of the
Second Republic, paradoxically enough with the election of Napoleon s own nephew, Napoleon
III, as its first president. The Second Empire collapsed in 1870 with the catastrophic war against
the Prussians, which the French soundly lost. That same year, the Third Republic was created.
Although the Third Republic had a long life, it was on the other hand quite unstable. In the period
from 1929 to 1939, there were 18 different governments. The Third Republic ended in 1940 with
the German occupation of France. The Fourth Republic was established after the war and
officially put in place in 1946 and successfully led France to an economic recovery after Second
World War. This essay discusses about the constitution of French fourth republic on 13 October
1946 with the LibertГ©, Г©galitГ©, fraternitГ© motto, head by Charles de Gaulle.

Real Estate Prices Will Not Rebound Any Time Soon Essay
Real estate prices will not rebound any time soon. Housing is cyclical and we had a tremendous
8 year cycle which produced 150% appreciation between 1997 and 2005. This cycle was
extended past its natural course through unprecedented low mortgage rates which bottomed at
4% for variable rates that were fixed for 3 or 5 years. Also contributing to the boom were
loosened lending rules such as interest only loans which keep the payments artificially low and
stated income loans which bypass income verification, making loans available to people who
would normally not qualify. In my home area of Southern California, the prior down cycle also
coincidentally lasted 8 years, starting in 1989, bottoming in 1995, and rebounding in 1997,
causing 20% haircuts from top to bottom. These cycles always go through the same phases:
greed, denial, fear, pain and resolution. First speculators disappear, prices become stagnant, and
houses stay on the market. For sale signs creep up as demand vanishes and sellers sit on their
houses longer, creating a greater supply and putting more downward pricing pressure. Sellers
reduce their asking prices, builders offer special incentives. The inventory builds up, desperate
sellers discount further, some default on their payments, and the repossession phase starts. Banks,
who are not in the business of owning homes, dump them at or below what is owned on the
mortgage. They tighten lending standards as they no longer want marginal buyers, reducing

Octavia E. Butler s Parable Of The Sower
Contrasting with this bleak representation is Octavia E. Butler s Parable of the Sower. Parable
centers around a multi faceted, strong female lead named Lauren who shows herself to be a

inclination for leadership. Among her neighbors, Lauren is considered smart and industrious

long enough to learn more (Butler. 57). Despite the judgement she receives from others, Lauren

by encouraging others to start emergency packs, like herself. She shows further inner strength as
she preaches a sermon on perseverance to encourage and strengthen the community following the
disappearance and presumed death of her father. Lauren continues to show this strength as The

Essay on How to Make the Malahat Safer
How to Make the Malahat Safer
The debate about how to improve the treacherously narrow and winding Malahat Mountain
Highway on South Vancouver Island has been an on going issue since its conception back in
1861 when it was built as a cattle trail, then up graded to wagon road status in 1884 and eventually
paved in 1911 (Commission). Currently vital safety upgrades are underway such as concrete
barriers to divide the road lanes and stabilization solutions for falling debris. The presence of
physical law enforcement units on the highway to manage problems like cell phone usage,
impaired drivers and vehicles that are ill equipped for weather conditions is a necessary and crucial
part of maintaining safety on the Malahat (Unit). However, due ... Show more content on

Construction will encounter further delays due to the precautions that need to be taken to ensure
the safety of workers and travellers while work is completed on the busy highway. These delays
add to the already significant financial cost of implementing these ideas for widening and
improving the existing highway. The economic cost associated with the different proposed
options of development for the highway range from an estimated 200 million dollars to 1billion
dollars (Transportation). The cheapest option includes upgrades to only a total of 18.8 km
(Transportation)of road, and does not allow for a alternate emergency route, as well as still
maintaining an inadequate capacity rate and limited improvements over all (Transportation). There
are several different options that fall somewhere in the middle of these two extremes both in cost
and improvement outcomes. These options vary in estimated costs of 300 million 600 million

Supporting Prayer in Public Schools Essay
Our Father... Denied For centuries, the debate has existed whether or not to allow prayer in public
schools. Many Americans feel it is not right of the schools to teach religion. With all the diversity
associated with the United States, public schools cannot select one standard religion to practice,
due to the cultural and religious differences in the country. Not only are schools the storm center of
controversy involving religious differences, they are the principal institution charged with
transmitting the identity and mission of the United States from one generation to the next. If we
fail in our school policies and classrooms to model and to teach how to live with differences, we

Prayer should be recited only in the privacy of one s own head or home. To allow individual
prayer at one s own choice is legal. To mandate standard prayer is illegal. The good thing about
this is one can choose to pray, or not, to whatever God they choose. Therefore someone praying
to Allah, Buddha, or Satan cannot require a Christian or a Jew to participate. Atheists have the
right to choose not to participate. A teacher or a government official cannot stop someone from
praying silently. Public schools are for all children, regardless of their race, sex, or religion.
Schools are supported by all taxpayers. The U.S. Supreme Court has replaced freedom of
religion, guaranteed by the Constitution, for freedom from religion. To ban school prayer
diminishes the religious freedom of students who would like to pray and forces them to act
according to the dictates of a non religious minority. School prayer would result in many societal
benefits. The public school system is tragically disintegrating as evidenced by the rise in school
shootings, increasing drug use, alcoholism, teen pregnancy, and HIV transmission. School prayer
can help combat these issues, would instill a sense of morality and is desperately needed to
protect our children. The issues of prayer in the school system used to be on the back burner but
now it has been moved upstage, front and center. The discussion of a school prayer amendment is
not so much about prayer itself but more about what kind of prayer

The Main Types Of Exchange Rate
China s Central Bank had devalued the Yuan by nearly 2% for the second time in August 2015.
Having a currency called the Yuan , China has one of the most successful economies of our time.
Their structural reform in the late 1970 s and their integration with the WTO (World Trade
Organisation) has enabled them to fully integrate with the world market and obtain several
advantages leading to them being an export oriented economy (Yang Yao, 2011). China s
devaluation has had significant effects on its own economy and the rest of the world such as
making its exports cheaper and affecting the aggregated demand of China. The devaluation of
the Yuan will also have an effect upon the imports by making them more expensive. In this essay
these effects will be analysed to a greater extent. Theoretically speaking there are three main
types of exchange rates. The first type of exchange rate is the floating exchange rate. According
to Sloman (2015, p. 457) a floating exchange rate system can be defined as When the government
does not intervene in the foreign exchange markets, but simply allows the exchange rate to be
freely determined by demand and supply . The second type of exchange rate is the fixed exchange
rate whereby the government fixes its currency to that of another currency. Most countries which
have a fixed exchange rate system usually fix their currency to the US dollar. The Chinese
currency can be said to be a managed floating exchange rate regime (Spence.,2015) which

For decades the iconic wild mustangs of the American West had roamed free across millions of
acres of open rangeland. Their population flourished so much that in the 19th century their
numbers reached over 2 million. However, during World War I, more than 1 million were admitted
for battle, which left the rest to be hunted for meat, abused for sport and collected as an ingredient
in dog and cat food. When wild mustangs officially received protection through the Wild Free
Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, it was estimated that only 17,000 wild mustangs were left
on the American plains (1). The agency tasked with the protection and management of the wild

Many studies have been done on the effects of wild mustangs on rangeland ecosystems. During the
course of these studies, many benefits have been credited to the presence of wild mustangs, such
as, an increase of native plant species, soil moisture retention, and the reduction of dry inflammable
vegetation in fire prone areas (9). These benefits can be attributed to my previous statements about
the wild mustang s unique digestive system, which also aids in the buildup of absorbent, nutrient
rich humus characteristics of healthy soil (13). It is understandable then, that if many native plant
species are benefited by the mustangs, so too are all the animals that depend on these plant
species. From other herbivores that also consume the plants to the predators that hunt the plant
eaters and so on up the food chain. Wild mustangs have proven to be useful to the survival of other
rangeland species. This can be seen during winter months when the mustangs instinctively break
through heavily crusted snow where the grass cannot be seen, and use their hooves to open up
frozen springs and ponds so that smaller animals are able to drink (13). The prosperity wild
mustangs offer, has led to my belief that their benefits far outweigh their adverse effects

The Insanity Defense By Steven Steinberg
While reading chapter 2 of The Insanity Defense we discussed many different versions of the
insanity defense and whether or not they re valid or not. This interested me so much that I
decided to actually go online and research the most insane ways to use the insanity defense.
Within this research I found various cases where it was used and was so shocked at how bizarre
almost all of them are that I decided to write a 3 page paper on it, enjoy. The first case I read
about brings us all the way back to 1981. In Arizona, Steven Steinberg awakens from a sleep to
find his wife stabbed to death 26 times. Steven quickly fumbles over her body to the phone and
calls police immediately. He tells them his wife has been murdered in a burglary gone wrong.
Upon investigation though, police discover that this was no burglary, that in fact Steven was the
one who has killed his wife. Steven in a state of confusion recounts that night because he has no
memory of murdering his wife, he explains to police he had no reason to, he loved her. This case
then went to trial and Steinberg told judges that he was sleepwalking at the time of the murder, and
therefore not sane during it. The jury found Steven Steinberg not guilty and he was free to go. So
is sleepwalking a valid insanity defense? In my opinion yes, I believe while sleepwalking you re in
a dissociative mental state that you can t control. When sleeping your daytime reality becomes a
distorted dream, in Stevens case his wife was

to pass along the animals properly. For example, in blue group six preschooler automatically
comprehended the objective of the game and passed the animals along smoothly, while two (G.M

As I read the book about sharing and taking turns, I asked the preschoolers to describe what they
see and how the characters are feeling. The objective was only partially achieved in the yellow
group as I did not give an introduction explaining my book. This mistake could of possibly made
it more difficult for the children to describe the scenario in the story, as they did not know what
to focus on. On the other hand, I did ask questions throughout the book, prompting children to use
descriptive words to describe how the characters were feeling. For example, F.W was able to
explain and use descriptive words when answering my questions throughout the book, but at the
end of the book she was not able to describe the main theme. All eight children reacted the same
way. This is my fault as I did not specify where the preschoolers should maintain their focus.
Therefore, my second time implementing the activity allowed all eight children in the blue group
to fully achieve the objective, as I made sure to be more clear about what the children should focus
on, helping them interact and understand more thoroughly. Overall, the children reacted well to the
book as I used different tones to keep them

Stamp Act Dbq Essay
Beginning in the year 1765 the British began taxing the colonies, as a result of war debt, yet this
only put a stress on the relationship between the two, due to the colonist s belief that they were not
being directly represented in the British parliament. The first act that was made to raise money
and anger was the Sugar Act. The Sugar Act was created in 1764 and it increased the tax on sugar
that was imported from the West Indies. The colonies responded to this act with bitter protests. Due
to these protests Britain lowered the duties substantially. Then in 1765 the Stamp Act was passed
certifying payment of tax on all sorts of legal and commercial documents (Document 1). This act
was responded with protests and sometimes even violence was

Investigating The Effect Of Ligand On The TFT Properties...
To investigate the effect of ligand on the TFT properties, we focused on the In2O3 NCs films
cured at 150 В°C. Both the ligand molecules OA and BET were conserved on the NCs surface in
the TFT devices at a curing temperature of 150 В°C. The TGA curves confirmed no weight loss
at 150 В°C (Figure. 4). Moreover, the FTIR spectrum of the thin films cured at 150 В°C also
supported the existence of the ligand molecules OA and BET with high intensity peaks of the
alkyl group Csp3 H and carboxylate group COO (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)). Therefore, The Вµ
increased after the ligand exchange process because of the decrease ligand lengthfrom OA (1.97 nm)
to BET (0.48 nm). In the In2O3 NCs films cured at 150 В°C, the NCs are separated by insulating

Table 1. TFT characteristics of the In2O3 OA NCs and In2O3 BET NCs thin films annealed at
different temperatures.
The Вµ of In2O3 OA NC and In2O3 BET NC thin films increased by 2 4 orders of magnitude
with increasing annealing temperatures from 150 В°C to 350 В°C, at which the OA or BET
ligands decomposed as discussed in the TGA (Figure 4) and FTIR results (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)).
Specially, the highest mobility obtained in this study are 4.1 cm2V 1s 1 for the In2O3 BET NC
TFT annealed at 350 В°C. This can be explained by thermal decomposition of the organic ligands
OA or BET on the NC surface, decreasing the d between the neighboring nanocrystals with
increasing annealing temperatures [15]. This was further supported by investigating the crystalline
domain sizes of the NCs from the XRD pattern of the thin films (in the supplementary information).
The crystalline domain sizes were not significantly affected by the annealing temperature, indicating
that the In2O3 NC thin films still consisted of an assembly of the single crystalline NCs [15].
Temperature dependence of In2O3 NC TFT devices To know the charge transport mechanism, the
relationship between the mobility and temperature was investigated. The temperature dependence
of the mobility takes the general form

Gender, Class And Traditional Culture
Gender, class and traditional culture all have a prodigious impact on the fate of ones future and
the obstacles that arise in the pursuit of the American Dream. In the film, Real Women Have
Curves, the viewer can witness firsthand what it entails to live a lifestyle of a first generation
Mexican teenager living in a Hispanic neighborhood in East Los Angles. The film draws you in on
an intimate level and allows you to relate to the culture and viewpoints of traditional Mexican
heritage. The take home point of the film was transpicuous: the pursuit of the American dream is
characterized by ones gender, class and traditional culture that one is born into. Defined in
Wikipedia, Gender is the range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between,
masculinity and femininity. (Gender) Ana Garcia is the main character in the film, Real Women
Have Curves, and Ana s gender roleis established very early into the film. Ana is feminine, but
independent. She is 18 years old and is a senior at Beverly Hills High School. Carmen, Ana s
mother has already established her daughter s gender role. That is, Ana must work in her sisters
dress making factory, get married, bear children and take care of her family as a female Mexican
American womanshould. This is how Ana s mom lived and this is what is expected of Ana.

Depreciation and Vital Spark
New Economy Transport (A) p. 182The New Economy Transport Company (NETCO) was
formed in 1955 to carry cargo and passengers between ports in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
By 2008 its fleet had grown to four vessels, including a small dry cargo vessel, the Vital Spark.
The Vital Spark is 25 years old and badly in need of an overhaul. Peter Handy, the finance
director, has just been presented with a proposal that would require the following expenditures:
Mr. Handy believes that all these outlays could be depreciated for tax purposes in the seven year

This is a nominal, not a real, rate. NETCO s tax rate is 35%. QUESTION 1. Calculate the NPV
of the proposed overhaul of the Vital Spark, with and without the new engine and control
system. To do the calculation, you will have to prepare a spreadsheet table showing all costs
after taxes over the vessel s remaining economic life. Take special care with your assumptions
about depreciation tax shields and inflation. New Economy Transport (B) There is no question
that the Vital Spark needs an overhaul soon. However, Mr. Handy feels it unwise to proceed
without also considering the purchase of a new vessel. Cohn and Doyle, Inc., a Wisconsin
shipyard, has approached NETCO with a design incorporating a Kort nozzle, extensively
automated navigation and power control systems, and much more comfortable
accommodations for the crew. Estimated annual operating costs of the new vessel are: The
crew would require additional training to handle the new vessel s more complex and
sophisticated equipment. Training would probably cost $50,000 next year. The estimated
operating costs for the new vessel assume that it would be operated in the same way as the Vital
Spark. However, the new vessel should be able to handle a larger load on some routes, which could
generate additional revenues, net of additional out of pocket costs, of as much as $100,000 per
year. Moreover, a new vessel would have a useful service life of 20 years or more. Cohn and

whether or not you have another stinging insect allergy? It s no fun to discover that you re
allergic to anything, but these tips can help you to avoid potential issues: Ask your doctor about
an EpiPen: If you ve been stung before, you may have had only a very mild reaction as a result.
However, there is no way for your doctor to determine whether you ll have the same reaction or a

being stung is to avoid wearing bright and colorful clothes. Bright colors can confuse a bee or
wasp into thinking that they are flying towards a flower. If you wear clothes that are very light

Over The Course Of Human History There Have Been Countless
Over the course of human history there have been countless societies that have had some sort of
economic system that helps sustain themselves. The backbone of any community, no matter the
size, is built upon its own economy. Without the community itself there would be no economy, and
with no economy there would be no community. This dependence of roles is all built around the
idea that with a healthy economic systemalso comes a healthy community. When talking about a
society s economy over the years, some have had great success, and others have ultimately failed.
There are many factors as to why there would be such success or failure, but each economic
system that there has ever been has had its benefits and costs that range from a vast... Show more

Going back to the rules of how wealth will be managed in the perfect community, wages will be
determined based upon factors such as contribution to society, and overall difficulty or amount
of stress level. This may be a very extreme stance on wealth distribution, but in reality this is the
fairest system of wages that a society will ever achieve. As one would think, profits in the
community will reflect upon this. The money required to run anything wealth related such as
running the business or paying taxes will still be perfectly intact, it is just that the leftover
money will be used in a fair manner all across the board. The head person will most likely not be
making the most money as that position may not be as demanding as its lower positions. Although
the director of an organization may have built a company fromt the ground up, in the world of
business gaining a bigger status can be based upon an unpredictable risk reward system. In looking
at the philosopher and economist ideas of Karl Marx, he believed in a more extreme position than
what is being proposed. In Robert Heilbroner s book Teachings From the Worldly Philosophy,
Heilbroner takes a sample of the collected works of Marx and collaborator Friedrich Engels that
talks about wealth distribution. In the sample(in Heilbroner), Marx says The value of labour power

Anaesthesia and muscle relaxants reduce the seizure threshold and the risk of injuries from motor

quot; All I Know Is What I Read In The Papers quot; Will Rogers
There have been many criteria over the past few centuries that measured one s political clout and
influence: divine right, property, money, and acquaintances. In the twentieth century, particularly
the past two decades, the political power to influence others resides in information: the more
information you have and the more you know how to use it, the more potential influence you have.
People rely on the media for their information, as it is the most easily accessible, efficient, and
passive way of acquiring knowledge. Unfortunately, the media is not completely reliable as it can

reasons in smaller print, but also the voter who only glances through the paper as their attention is

These are examples of direct use of advertisement to sway voters decisions. There is a more
indirect method as well where politicians use the news media to try to convey their message and
hope the news will air or print it.
During the National Referendum campaign the quot;No quot; side relied on this factor more than
the quot;Yes quot; side did. In a Globe and Mail article before the vote, the reporter regurgitated
what Judy Rebick had said about the quot;Yes quot; side being quot;top heavy with politicians,
government types, and opinion leaders quot;(6), and how the public respects the quot;No quot; side

Discussion on Conditionality of IMF Loans from the...
Critically discuss conditionality of IMF loans from the perspective of different IPE theories.
There are three IPE (international political economy) that includes, economic national perspective,
liberal national perspective and critical perspective. These theories are used to analyze global
political economy.
Economic national perspective.
Economic national perspective strains the importance of the states national interest and
understanding actions in global perspective. This perspective is a state centered theory, thus, it
focus mainly on states own interest.
Further more, this theory dates back on to the rise and extension nation states in Europe in 15th

Therefore, economic national perspective is established across the actions of coherent states.
Nevertheless, foreign affairs is perceived as a fight for power, as well as international political
economy which is seen as combating for power and wealth.
According to IPE specialists focusing on this approach (economic national perspective) description
of the global economy suggest the concerns of the most powerful nations . (O Brien and Williams
2013 p. 10.)
Advantages and disadvantages with economic national perspective.
Advantages.
This approach protects the national interests, and it s good for domestic producers. Therefore,
when a state uses this approach, domestic producers will have a good market because there are no
TNCs (transnational corporations) or foreign firms in the country.
Moreover, it has a zero sum game; one states gain is another states loss. Thus, nations should focus
on their own interests. This theory can be used by developing countries in order to reach economic
growth. For instance, China has engaged to open economy and profiting from liberal system. Thus,
at the same time China supported economic national perspective through challenging conditions on
all foreign investments to accomplish development.
Thus, there were also some states used this approach to limit trade such as health, employment and
safety in order to protect their citizens. Especially healthcare and educations are important and some

Historical Development of Law Enforcement Essays
Since 27 B.C. law enforcement has been used by humans as a means to defend property and keep
peace. Law enforcement has been changing ever since it was created. It will keep changing for the
greater good of the community as long is there is a continual need for law enforcement.
According to REAL POLICE. (N.D.) Para 5, the first organized police force was created by the
great nephew of Julius Caesar, Gaius Octavius in 27 B.C. These men were called Vigiles. The
Vigiles were armed with wooden clubs and small swords. They were formed to perform two
duties, fight fires in the city and arrest law breakers. The prefect of the Vigiles became a powerful
man. He had the ability to judge and sentence lawbreakers.

New York used bells to communicate with other officers out of voice range. There were ten
different bell codes used by the New York police. Also, New York replaced drafted citizens with
paid watch standers in 1658. REAL POLICE. (N.D.).
Research by Schmalleger (2005) shows that in 1829, the world s first modern police force was
formed. Sir Robert Peel selected 1,000 men to wear a uniform and patrol the streets. These
uniformed men were called Bobbies. The new police were founded on two principles, one, belief
that it was possible to discourage crime, and two, practice of preventive patrol. To this day, Bobbies
still patrol the streets of England.
Law enforcement was almost non existent in the American West during the late 1800 s and early
1900 s. Outlaws ruled the land with few worries about law enforcement. Only the bravest men
would attempt to police the west. Some of these brave men were self appointed law men, men like
Charles Lynch, a former Virginia farmer, and Wyatt Earp. These brave men were called Vigilantes
and they tracked down criminals in the west. With out them the west would have been to violent for
the expansion of the country. Schmalleger (2005).
Women began involvement with police work in 1845. They were assigned as matrons in the
New York Police Department. In 1893, the Mayor of Chicago appointed Marie Owens as the first
woman to have the title policeman . She was a widow of a Chicago police

Legal Realism Vs Old School Essay
Original old school formalism had a lot of problems. It suggested that there was a single moral
code that inherently true, declared that law was objective when it certainly wasn t, and
encouraged deriving rules from questionable antecedent principles. From these criticisms, legal
realism was born. It was here to fix all of the problems that old school formalism had. However,
critics of legal realism spoke up after its application to create new school legal formalism to then
create a solution to the problems seen in legal realism. This lineage of creation shows how
dissimilar legal realism and new school legal formalism must be: they derived as better solutions
the one preceding it. Almost entirely, these two schools of thought are completely opposite as
they are responses to one another, sharing only one trait between the two. The purposivist theory
of Legal Realism differs greatly from the formalist theory of New School Legal Formalism.
Legal realism is a purposivist theory derived from the critique of old school legal formalism,
citing disagreement with the objective nature of old school legal formalism. Legal realists stated
that reasoning from Natural Law could not be objective, and law was unable to be determined by
logic and reason alone. Stating that all choices are inherently subjective, legal realists became
proponents of a subjective theory of law. They rejected the formalist point of view of the law,
deciding that purposivism only adheres to their subjectivity.

  • 2. IHOP Atlanta Thursday afternoon, April 6th at 12:00, I attended International House of Prayer Atlanta (IHOP) located in Lawrenceville, Ga. There are three key components to the IHOP Atlanta Missions Base: 1) Prayer 2) Mission and 3) Community. IHOP Atlanta has a very contemporary worship space. Hence, the devotional prayer room, which in most churches would be considered their sanctuary, is the centerpiece of all that they do. Per the signage that is placed at the entrance of the prayer room, group prayer at IHOP Atlanta is facilitated by way of their corporate intercession sets which is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. IHOP Atlanta believes this worship space of prayer ascends from one s hearts to the throne of God. As I entered the space, I noticed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The music was indeed freeing, revitalizing, and refreshing. It evoked powerful emotions which is hard to express. There is no language I may write that will effectively communicate how liberating the music made me feel. But, if I had to try, I must say I was mostly impressed how the music became the conduit where I could experience God s peace and presence. My body, mind and soul connection to the music encoded a deep anointing on my spirit. The music involved a combined shift of body jerking pulses with rise and fall intensity. Which created an emotional roller coaster for me. One minute my body was twisting and jerking to earsplitting rock roll and the next minute I was immersed in a near trance inducing atmosphere in which the music toned down to a more mystical sensation that moved me to tears. The Weakness of this Contemporary Worship I believe my biggest critique with this style of worship is that I question if music is enough. Does music make true transformation in the way worship shapes our affections, values, perceptions and beliefs? Sure, good music add to the experience of worship and it may enhance someone s spiritual walk. But, does it build a true sustaining relationship with God or with the people of God? Thus, it is my belief that music only functions as background, mostly on the surface and not real ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee Growth and Acceptance The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was done wonderfully and quite entertaining. While a musical about a spelling bee does not sound like the most exciting thing to watch, the performances by each actor provided a great atmosphere for the production. Going into the play, I was expecting it to be a kid s show, which kids would enjoy the musical but may not quite get all of the jokes. The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee was more aimed at adults. Every adult that was watching the play, myself included, was rolling out of their seats. The play managed to be engaging and funny throughout the entire play. Within the play, each actor has a different background story. Each actor in the play, plays a big role and stood out in their own specific way. Also, this specific play differs from the other plays we have seen but it has few similarities. Beginning, the 25TH Annual Putnam Spelling Bee play overall is a musical comedy. The play was more fast paced, more laughing was involved and much more singing. Which led to the play in particular being quite more engaging than others. The production in this play differed from the other plays we ve seen. The audience interaction was the best part of the production. One difference to me is the play involved four people from the audience to participate as actors in the play. Not knowing exactly what their purpose is in the play, just generously volunteering as a spelling bee contestant. Another aspect that differed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. El Chuco My mind will often wander to all the places I ve lived in and all those I would love to travel to, or visit again. I remember the cool streets of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and how it compares to the over 100 degree temperature of where I am now, the dry heat of El Paso, Texas, a place I often come back to. The soil where my roots are forever ingrained in. El Paso has grown significantly in the past 10 years alone, and is currently the sixth most populous city in Texas(World Population Review). It s far from it s days when it was widely known as El Chuco, or ChucoTown, nicknames whose origins and meaning have long been debated, but no matter how much of the new generation is unfamiliar with these terms the history lives on in the streets and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s was the heart of the Mexican diaspora, claims Yolanda ChГЎvez Leyva, chair of the University of Texas at El Paso history department (Azenett Cornejo). It was always considered a temporary location, the first stop until immigrants could make enough money to move elsewhere. However, times have always been tough and discrimination has always had a way of making people feel lost even in a place that should have been their home. Eventually a community began to flourish and Segundo Barrio became an extension of Mexico, a home away from home, or as my mother tells me a community inside of a community, which is most likely where the first part Segundo comes from. Home is what you make of it, and El Paso was home to many, but a community is what develops over time and is a connection made between people and place. My neighbor and friend, Margarita Martinez, would joke with me about how no matter where her brother goes in the U.S. whenever he wears a shirt from a local and long established restaurant he always gets people that come up to him and talk with him as if they were old friends that were catching up with each other. They would talk about where they grew up and the connection they have with the city, it s so weird how excited some people get about this place says ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Gap Inc. Essay As a citizen of America you have definitely seen a store owned by Gap Inc. such as stores like Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Etc. These stores represent an ionic and proud American store since 1969 which has multiplied since they opened their first store in San Francisco. This marked the first of many stores that would open and take over America. Gapbecame an icon as it started to multiply as larger variety stores came about. Such stores as Old Navy taking over the lower budget gap clothing to Gap as a middle budget and on to Banana Republic which serves as a high profile high budget Gap Inc. store. Gap Inc. This so called thing now has become a fashion statement as Women will always be on an endless quest for that great pair of jeans because the denim industry keeps evolving and growing (WGSN.com). This is an example of the same situation that Don and Doris had to undergo and now 42 years later it s still an issue. After all these years now they are the leading international specialty retailer with five different brands. Behind the 3000 stores and 5 different brands come 134,000 employees. That is four times the population of Lichtenstein which is a small country in the Swiss Alps. Such a large work force dedicated to the making of apparel brands really stands out in the fashion industry and with this many designers, managers, sales associates, and other leading roles Gap Inc. stands to make a difference in the way people dress. They are so forward in their attempt to change the way of fashion that they have opened up new stores in new countries such as Italy, China, and Australia, thus bringing once a pair of jeans to a multitude of different apparel items. These new countries that have Gap Inc. stores popping up shows Gap Inc. s progressive movement by saying that 190 store openings worldwide are planned, with about 10 in China, including Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, and another 10 in Italy, including one in Rome. Gap plans to double the number of franchise stores to 400 by 2015. (WDD.com). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Tragic Events In Paris Research Paper On November 13, 2015 Paris was stuck with a variety of attacks, which had a lasting impact on the culture in Paris, as well as many other places. There were a series of planned terrorist attacks that occurred in Paris, the capital of France, and a Northern suburb Saint Denis. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) took responsibility for these events just a few days after they occurred. They claimed that the reason behind this was due to a retaliation to the French. Not only did this striking event effect Paris and the surrounding cities, but it also effected many other people in different countries by watching the tragedy unfold. During these attacks hundreds were killed and many were injured. Paris has been in a state of mourning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When events such as these occur, it reminds us all that this could happen to any of us and it help cultures become more aware in many ways. People often times can become hardened to these types of events because a lot of us never think it will happen to us, until they start occurring more and becoming more real to us. This tragic event brought the people of Paris together while they mourned the loss of so many. Events like these are often significant to cultures as well, because often times it draws everyone to come together and support one another in hard times such as these. All throughout our culture we are seeing more and more the true depravity of humans and the consequence of sin. This is not the first disastrous event that ISIS has caused on a country and it will not be the last. One of the main ways that this situation could be changed would be by taking out ISIS. ISIS has become a very big terrorist group and effects many countries. They are clearly not done with their attacks and it seems that they will continue to do so until they are stopped. To truly change this situation and prevent it from happening anymore, ISIS will need to be taken out or this will continue to happen to different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis Of The Movie Fall Arrives Fall arrives in the city with cool, crisp winds that brush leaves from the ground into the air in a slow churning whirlwind causing them to dance about, descending to the moist ground. A yellow cab is patiently circling the neighborhood in search of fares, which has been a twenty year practice of Max a stout, older man with a protruding belly that strains the buttons of his faded, much wrinkled shirt. He slowly drinks a cup of lukewarm coffee singing my mama told me you better shop around... He looks up at the sky at dark, overcast clouds, Looks like rain today he says. Max knows the streets of his hometown better than anyone around. He typically works on the east side of the city around the old Elmhurst Cemetery. Most people don t venture close to the cemetery claiming that they often see a young womanwalking through it. They are convinced she is a ghost looking for revenge, but these stories never bother Max nor had he ever seen this ghostly young woman. Drops of rain begin to tap his windshield, but not enough for Max to engage his wipers. He continues to drive, sip on his coffee, singing until the rain begins to violently pound his cab prompting him to slam on his brakes. The cab swerves, his coffee spills on his chest and runs down his belly, Crap! Max exclaims in frustration. With his cab still swerving, he comes close to hitting a young woman crossing the street near the cemetery just before he stops short of hitting her left leg. He was shocked to see someone ... • 8. Environmental Effects On Environment Shavonne Devine Prof. Welsh Eng 1A (6403) 18 Sept. 2017 Through industrial development we have diminished our soil, ruined farmland, trees and have caused extinction of various species. All of these natural resources took over hundreds of millions years to form and Americans have destroyed them all for the need to build more. David Brower a prominent environmentalist says we have diminished our soil, fisheries, fossil fuels and we have changed the climate. We caused the extinction of countless species by half. Over consumption has reached a point of harming Americans health and the overall environment. According to John De Graaf, David Wann and Thomas H. Naylor sixty nine acres of prime Americanfarmland are lost to development. Once you cut down and pave over farms the land is gone forever. The very thing that humanity relies on is being taken for granted. Americas increase in consumption does have benefits but the negative effects on the environment, American health and family outweigh the positive. What once was an abundance of natural resources is now becoming hard to find. The magnitude that this type of industrial development has on the environment is irreversible. The damage we are doing can never be undone. Through our constant need for more we have managed to change the climate. American Farmland Trust points out how 24 million acres of agricultural land has been developed since 1982. In Bloomington Minnesota on over 100 acres stands the Potomac Mills ... Throughout time Franklin used many pseudonyms in his periodical writings in order to make his point known about the fallacies in court rulings of the colonial times. One of his most famous articles written using a pseudonym were The Speech of Miss Polly Baker. This story was about a woman that was being prosecuted for the fifth time for having a bastard child and which one of the judges decided to marry her the next day. It is believed that Franklin was influenced by this letter because he was a man that had an illegitimate child, and also had a common law marriage which would allow many people to consider him a womanizer. However, people of Philadelphia still felt that women seduced their man by virtue rather than to a complete vice. Throughout his letter there are many challenges of judicial philosophy. It seemed as if he felt that if he did not speak up for women then society may ignore the fact that most women were being treated unjust throughout the judicial system. Other purposes of the pseudonym would be the fact that most women of the eighteenth century were not capable of being quite as educated as the men of the century. Most women were thought of as modern day stay at home mothers. If Franklin were to use his given name then he may have been viewed as a lower class. INTRODUCTION Currently, most of the world s population is living in urban areas which have implications for land use and land changes, use of natural resources, and the absorption of rural labour in urban areas. The rural and urban interdependence means the flow of natural resources, agricultural commodity, money, information and services between rural and urban areas. Moreover, the rural population is adopting the urban style and behaviour or is becoming socially urbanized. According to Steinberg (2014) economic development and natural resource use and as well as livelihoods bind urban and rural areas together. These indicate that urban and rural areas have a symbiotic relationship, which makes them to depend on each other. Thus, one area needs the other to function and develop. Thus, the electricity will be required in order to receive a sustainable development of fuel hydrogen, and provide people with fresh water. Usually receiving the nuclear energy requires a nuclear chain reaction of nuclear fission of uranium 235 or plutonium. Kernels start dividing after hit by a neutron. It provides new neutrons and fission fragments. Neutrons and fission fragments have a high kinetic energy. Because of collisions with other atoms fragments, the kinetic energy transforms into heat. Nuclear fusion is another way to release nuclear energy. Two nuclei of light elements combine in one grave. Such processes occur on the Sun. Many atomic nuclei are unstable. Over time, some of these nuclei spontaneously convert into other nuclei, releasing energy. This phenomenon is called a radioactive decay. Nuclear energy is produced in nuclear power plants, used in nuclear powered icebreakers and nuclear submarines. The United States is running a program for developing nuclear engine for spacecraft. Nuclear energetics is an energy sector, which is engaged in the production of electricity and heat by converting nuclear energy. Factors of the Development of Nuclear Energy The first industrial nuclear power plant with capacity of 5 MW was put into operation in the USSR (the city of Obninsk) in 1954 (World Energy Council 7). Grain size influence on debris flow varies depending on debris flow types (h/de50). If debris flows were thin, then the grain size has little influence on the velocity of the flow. In contrast, if debris flows were thick and viscous, the grain size would have the more prominent impact on debris flows. As we can extract from figure 14, the absolute multipliers are both small for the liquidand solid phase that give rise to the barely perceptible influence on debris flow velocity. Nevertheless, the grain size has positive effect on liquid phase, while grain size has negative effect on solid phase hinge on the figure and the model. • 18. The Second And Current Republic Introduction From French revolution in 1789, France has had five different republican systems. The fifth and current republic was an outcome to the Algerian crisis in 1950 s. The First Republic began with the fall of King Louis XVI in 1792 and ended with Napoleon Bonaparte declaring himself emperor of the First French Empire in 1804. After Napoleon s empire had ended, a period of monarchies followed, until the 1848 Revolution saw the birth of the Second Republic, paradoxically enough with the election of Napoleon s own nephew, Napoleon III, as its first president. The Second Empire collapsed in 1870 with the catastrophic war against the Prussians, which the French soundly lost. That same year, the Third Republic was created. Although the Third Republic had a long life, it was on the other hand quite unstable. In the period from 1929 to 1939, there were 18 different governments. The Third Republic ended in 1940 with the German occupation of France. The Fourth Republic was established after the war and officially put in place in 1946 and successfully led France to an economic recovery after Second World War. This essay discusses about the constitution of French fourth republic on 13 October 1946 with the LibertГ©, Г©galitГ©, fraternitГ© motto, head by Charles de Gaulle. • 20. Real Estate Prices Will Not Rebound Any Time Soon Essay Real estate prices will not rebound any time soon. Housing is cyclical and we had a tremendous 8 year cycle which produced 150% appreciation between 1997 and 2005. This cycle was extended past its natural course through unprecedented low mortgage rates which bottomed at 4% for variable rates that were fixed for 3 or 5 years. Also contributing to the boom were loosened lending rules such as interest only loans which keep the payments artificially low and stated income loans which bypass income verification, making loans available to people who would normally not qualify. In my home area of Southern California, the prior down cycle also coincidentally lasted 8 years, starting in 1989, bottoming in 1995, and rebounding in 1997, causing 20% haircuts from top to bottom. These cycles always go through the same phases: greed, denial, fear, pain and resolution. First speculators disappear, prices become stagnant, and houses stay on the market. For sale signs creep up as demand vanishes and sellers sit on their houses longer, creating a greater supply and putting more downward pricing pressure. Sellers reduce their asking prices, builders offer special incentives. The inventory builds up, desperate sellers discount further, some default on their payments, and the repossession phase starts. Banks, who are not in the business of owning homes, dump them at or below what is owned on the mortgage. They tighten lending standards as they no longer want marginal buyers, reducing ... • 29. The Main Types Of Exchange Rate China s Central Bank had devalued the Yuan by nearly 2% for the second time in August 2015. Having a currency called the Yuan , China has one of the most successful economies of our time. Their structural reform in the late 1970 s and their integration with the WTO (World Trade Organisation) has enabled them to fully integrate with the world market and obtain several advantages leading to them being an export oriented economy (Yang Yao, 2011). China s devaluation has had significant effects on its own economy and the rest of the world such as making its exports cheaper and affecting the aggregated demand of China. The devaluation of the Yuan will also have an effect upon the imports by making them more expensive. In this essay these effects will be analysed to a greater extent. Theoretically speaking there are three main types of exchange rates. The first type of exchange rate is the floating exchange rate. According to Sloman (2015, p. 457) a floating exchange rate system can be defined as When the government does not intervene in the foreign exchange markets, but simply allows the exchange rate to be freely determined by demand and supply . Their population flourished so much that in the 19th century their numbers reached over 2 million. When wild mustangs officially received protection through the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, it was estimated that only 17,000 wild mustangs were left on the American plains (1). Many studies have been done on the effects of wild mustangs on rangeland ecosystems. During the course of these studies, many benefits have been credited to the presence of wild mustangs, such as, an increase of native plant species, soil moisture retention, and the reduction of dry inflammable vegetation in fire prone areas (9). These benefits can be attributed to my previous statements about the wild mustang s unique digestive system, which also aids in the buildup of absorbent, nutrient rich humus characteristics of healthy soil (13). It is understandable then, that if many native plant species are benefited by the mustangs, so too are all the animals that depend on these plant species. From other herbivores that also consume the plants to the predators that hunt the plant eaters and so on up the food chain. Wild mustangs have proven to be useful to the survival of other rangeland species. This can be seen during winter months when the mustangs instinctively break through heavily crusted snow where the grass cannot be seen, and use their hooves to open up frozen springs and ponds so that smaller animals are able to drink (13). The prosperity wild mustangs offer, has led to my belief that their benefits far outweigh their adverse effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within this research I found various cases where it was used and was so shocked at how bizarre almost all of them are that I decided to write a 3 page paper on it, enjoy. The first case I read about brings us all the way back to 1981. In Arizona, Steven Steinberg awakens from a sleep to find his wife stabbed to death 26 times. Steven quickly fumbles over her body to the phone and calls police immediately. He tells them his wife has been murdered in a burglary gone wrong. Upon investigation though, police discover that this was no burglary, that in fact Steven was the one who has killed his wife. Steven in a state of confusion recounts that night because he has no memory of murdering his wife, he explains to police he had no reason to, he loved her. This case then went to trial and Steinberg told judges that he was sleepwalking at the time of the murder, and therefore not sane during it. The jury found Steven Steinberg not guilty and he was free to go. So is sleepwalking a valid insanity defense? Specially, the highest mobility obtained in this study are 4.1 cm2V 1s 1 for the In2O3 BET NC TFT annealed at 350 В°C. This can be explained by thermal decomposition of the organic ligands OA or BET on the NC surface, decreasing the d between the neighboring nanocrystals with increasing annealing temperatures [15]. This was further supported by investigating the crystalline domain sizes of the NCs from the XRD pattern of the thin films (in the supplementary information). The crystalline domain sizes were not significantly affected by the annealing temperature, indicating that the In2O3 NC thin films still consisted of an assembly of the single crystalline NCs [15]. It suggested that there was a single moral code that inherently true, declared that law was objective when it certainly wasn t, and encouraged deriving rules from questionable antecedent principles. From these criticisms, legal realism was born. It was here to fix all of the problems that old school formalism had. However, critics of legal realism spoke up after its application to create new school legal formalism to then create a solution to the problems seen in legal realism. This lineage of creation shows how dissimilar legal realism and new school legal formalism must be: they derived as better solutions the one preceding it. Almost entirely, these two schools of thought are completely opposite as they are responses to one another, sharing only one trait between the two. The purposivist theory of Legal Realism differs greatly from the formalist theory of New School Legal Formalism. Legal realism is a purposivist theory derived from the critique of old school legal formalism, citing disagreement with the objective nature of old school legal formalism. Legal realists stated that reasoning from Natural Law could not be objective, and law was unable to be determined by logic and reason alone. Stating that all choices are inherently subjective, legal realists became proponents of a subjective theory of law. They rejected the formalist point of view of the law, deciding that purposivism only adheres to their subjectivity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
