Life In The 1970 s
Imagine the worse time in your life, the time when you felt hopeless and were searching for answers
as to why you were so miserable, why was each day getting worse instead of better? This is what it
was like almost every day for the people living in the 1970 s. The 1970 s was a period of devastation
and desperation which led the citizens of the United States to seek help and comfort from outside
sources, which led to even more devastation for some people who chose to be in groups that made
their problems worse. A lot of people in the 1970 s gave up on hope and happiness, feeling that as time
went on, life would get worse; this is when they turned to religion. Religion started to spread like wild
fire in the 1970 s, getting many people to turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Temple was part of the cultural trend because it preached religion and gave people the answer s
they had been searching for. It made people feel like they belonged to something and that life was
going to get better despite everything going on with the government. Peoples Temple compared to
other religious movements in some ways, but it was definitely the deadliest. There were other
religious movements that ended similarly to Peoples Temple, but the number of people effected was
much lower, such as the group Heavens Gate. The 1970 s was a very rough time for many people, it
made people feel hopeless, which is when they started to search for other answers. When people
joined a religious movement, such as People s Temple, they probably saw it as a light at the end of the
tunnel and that there was hope, not that they would end up dead. Even though many people were
affected from the devastation of the 1970 s, America was able to pull out of that dark time and become
great

Management styles
Generally, workers provide plans, methods, reports, etc, can be complicated and time consuming. In
order to achieve a particular goal, gathering information required can take a long time. In addition, in
a formal and sometimes very rigid hierarchical structure, time, deadlines and efficiency are secondary
to compare with detail, rigorous logic and perfection of form. However, Spain is no longer the sleepy
country it once was. Although the Spanish tardiness of time perception is not regarded as inexcusable,
meetings often start on time especially in Barcelona and Madrid.
Titles in Spain are very important. The highest ones such as vice president are normally reserved for
very senior executive level positions. They should not be used as casually as they are in the America.
Rewards and compliments are usually not given publicly in Spain (Going Global Career Guides.
Spain, 2006).
Boss and subordinate relations
In Spain, the rank has its privileges. Spaniards always do business with the most important people
because of their pride and self importance. Also there is a rigid chain of command that must be
respected. Whatever the field you are in, you must follow a hierarchy which is a proper way for
communicating with particular individuals and an expected procedure.

Charlie Chaplin s Commentary On Society In The Film City...
City Lights In the 1931 film City Lights , Charlie Chaplin opens our eyes , so to speak, about how
society values trivial elements of people over the deeper person by using blindness. In this film,
Chaplin brilliantly mixes lighthearted comedy with deep and complex ideas about problems with
society. Chaplin uses music, gags, and a genuine love connection to portray this point in multiple ways
throughout the movie. Chaplin also took the bold step of not making a talking movie, even though
they were available at the time, making the details in the pictures and sounds he was creating that
much more important. What makes City Lights so special, and different from other comedies, is
Chaplin s natural blend of comedic scenes with tense and serious scenes. Chaplin weaved together a
masterpiece that culminates in the end with the lady seeing who she fell in love with, which is also the
moment Chaplin slaps the viewer in the face with the realization that the priorities in society are
misguided and that the important things cannot be seen with the eye.
To see Chaplin s commentary on society, one must first look at how he uses sound to spread his
message. Right from the first scene, Chaplin infuses his views on society with sound as he plays the
kazoo to represent the high class men speaking when they are unveiling a new statue. During this
speech, the view can see the tramp (Charlie Chaplin) behind them sleeping on top of the statue. With
this scene, Chaplin is saying

The Canadian Punk Band
Music is a powerful force in this world that has always brought joy to people and been a way to
almost escape reality. Punk is no exception to this, all of the artists in this movie were extremely
passionate about what they do and they all used it as some sort of escape, whether it was just to feel
young again or to avoid bad neighborhoods and drugs, punk was their escape. The first group they
talked out about from Canada, called the Forgotten Rebels, were seen as sort of godfathers of punk
and influenced a lot of people around the world. The lead singer of the band talked about how they
still have real jobs in Canada aside from being rock stars, and how preforming was a way to escaped
that life and feel like kids again. They also did it to entertain themselves and to just have fun with the
music and the idea of punk. According to the lead singer everything hey did was a satire just meant to
be funny and entertaining? What s amazing about this is that this Canadian punk band that didn t take
it super seriously inspired a kid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The band they followed around here was Superman is Dead. This band was about stating up against
the traditional ways of Indonesia when it was a slave state and pushing towards a new way of life.
They also used music as a way to escape all of the violence that is going on there. Indonesia is a very
diverse country but there is a large Muslim population there with growing numbers of Muslim
extremists. When asked about religion the drummer said they always say no comment because in that
country talking about religion can get you killed. They talked about how some kids were being
jumped and murdered because of their clothes looking too western , and the bombs that were set off in
two night clubs killing hundreds of people. The purpose of their band was to promote peace and to
give people a way to escape the violence even if only for a little

Michael Porter s Value Chain Analysis
The business of ecommerce is rapidly increasing, minute by minute. Companies are finding ways to
deliver their products to their customers quicker and easier. With this demand in progress, gaining an
advantage is an essential key element to the companies success. To distinguish these viable
advantages, Michael Porter created value chain analysis, which views a firm as a series of business
processes that each add value to the product or service (Baltzan). The value chain analysis is a
valuable source for regulating the greatest possible value for consumers. This topic will be further
discussed with two major leading companies, Amazon and EBay. The increase in ecommerce will
have an impact on the economy as well.
Section2: Industry and Competitors The industry of ecommerce is a look into the future. Many believe
that Time is Currency and one day shipping will change the business of ecommerce as a whole. One
day shipping is not easy and feasible for all companies because the cost is so high. The major leading
companies of this industry are Amazon, Google, EBay, and Wal Mart, as stated in the assignment.
There are many retail companies and department stores who offer one day shipping such as Neiman
Marcus and Macy s. E commerce delivery business strategies varies depending on the company. The
main competitors discussed throughout this paper will be Amazon and eBay.
Section3: Value Chain of CORP1 Amazon has created a value chain model to ensure that they have

The Secret to Humor is Surprise in The Weather of New...
Critical Analysis Essay The secret to humor is surprise Aristotle. The two stories I m going to talk
about The Weather of New England by Mark Twain and The Dog That Bit People by James Thurber
are both strange humorous essay with a twist. Both stories have a central conflict, in The Dog That Bit
People a family is burden with a dog that bites everyone, including the narrator. The Weather of New
England talks about the weather of the new colonies and how spontaneous they were and the different
forms they came in. Both humorous authors use style, tone, and perspective as a technique to tell their
story and conflicts. Mark Twain uses style in The Weather of New England , when he uses words like
sumptuous and Centennial to describe what s going on in the story. The author refers to the weather as
sumptuous saying that there are splendid and lavish varieties of the weather of New England that
cause a stranger to admire and regret or pity the weather. He also says that the brightest gems in the
New England weather is the dazzling uncertainty. The authors uses words like dazzling to show his
style. His style is sarcastic because he makes the uncertainty of not knowing what the weathers going
to be as a good thing when really the unexpected weather is causing problems. The author of The Dog
That Bit People James Thurber on one hand uses hyperbole s like Mark Twain ,but on the

John Updike A PAnalysis
In the story A P by John Updike, the narrator Sammy is a local grocery clerk in a small town. He is a
young man thrown into conflict with his older manager, Lengel over young female customers. Sammy
was intrigued teenage girls, and he struggled for distinguishing fantasy of romance and the reality of
the responsibility his manager has placed on him as an employee. This story focuses on the conflict
between the older generation and the new age by comparing the characters. The author described
Sammy as a working class person; however, he was only 19 years old and adolescence like a teenage
girl, Queenie. So, Sammy and girls in the bikini represented the younger generation, unlike Lengel,
the manager of the A P exposed the older generation s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, he shows himself preparing his climax moment through the intellectual and creative personality.
If a static or dynamic character is in the story, Sammy is considered a dynamic person. In A P, he says
three girls in bikini to imply a new conflict as a crisis and chance of his growing, She had talked the
other two into coming in there with here, and now she was showing them how doing it, walk slow and
hold yourself straight (1290). He has been fascinated by them, and he gives a creative name in the way
they walk and moves in stores. This creativity is a mediator that leads to new thinking and growth
when the crisis comes. Second, when the conflict reached a climax, he chose his own way with his
heroism. After Lengel gave Sammy the opportunity to withdraw the impulsive declaration, the door
heaves it open, and outside the sunshine is skating around on the asphalt (1294). This mention
emphasizes the Sammy s personal fulfillment and sincerity. He knows he regrets his decision to quit A
P, but he will not avoid his responsibilities. This quote provides a clue to a mature attitude by
describing how one obtains responsibility through individual decisions and

Corrie Ten Boom Analysis
I believe that any obstacle or disadvantage can be made into something positive. The story of Corrie
ten Boom, a Polish holocaust victim, and two homeschooled friends I know with cerebral palsy prove
this point in many ways.
In the mid eighteenth century, World War II brought chaos and genocide into center stage in the world
arena. Jews were being torn from their homes and sent to concentration camps, where they would
either die instantly or be made to work under unthinkably brutal conditions. Corrie ten Boom, a
middle aged Polish woman, worked together with her whole family to help hide Jews in a secret room
in her house. Once the operation was revealed to Nazi authorities, however, most of the ten Booms
were shipped off to concentration camps where they suffered isolation, humiliation, starvation, and
severe physical and emotional pain. Corrie even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One has to use crutches and the other must use a motorized wheelchair to get around. These two teens
and I participated with a homeschool theater company to put on a musical about being different . One
of the young men was chosen to be the lead role, the ugly duckling that everyone labeled as useless
and odd. Through this simple play, the cast demonstrated that being different from everyone else does
not have to be a setback. Though these two have had to deal with constant and debilitating
disadvantages throughout their lives, they still face their struggles with courage and humility. Their
personalities shine and they treat others with respect. Having met them personally, I can testify that
their lives are touching other people s lives and are encouraging others who have physical, mental, or
emotional disabilities. By simply living their lives with positive attitudes and participating in a
touching summer musical, they directly and indirectly show that disadvantages are not the end of the
story: good can always come out of

will produce no quick victory for Disney even if a white knight comes along, and even if the principle
attacker, Saul Steinberg, can be bought off. One by one, Hollywood s great studios have been plucked

The first major success of this division was Seal Island, a nature film that won an Oscar in 1949. Also
in 1949, Disney formed a music company to create, produce and maintain control over the music and
songs featured in Disney productions but often performed by famous artists. Disney later moved into
live action features with Treasure Island in 1950. Disney continued to innovate in the live action
format by combining animation with live action in the film Mary Poppins. As Disney s film library
had grown, Disney brought distribution in house with the formation of Buena Vista Distribution Co.,
in 1953. In films, Disney kept costs low by developing its own talent pool. For cartoon features,
characters were infinitely reusable and never required a salary, while for live action features, Disney
shied away from using well known and expensive talent. Audiences were drawn because of the
reputation Disney had established for providing quality, reliable, and predictable family entertainment.
In the early 1950s, Disney was quick to recognize the growing medium of television to provide new
outlets for Disney characters with The Wonderful World of Disney first airing in 1953 and The
Mickey Mouse Club in 1955. Disney s television productions both the long running shows and
features were quite successful. During the same time, Walt Disney

The Description Of Cookham Analysis
Friendship is a blessing, people say, and it is. Men often express their appreciation and respect for
male friends through literature. A fellowship, medieval authors call it. A deep and unbreakable
connection between males, transcending romantic love. A relationship based on mutual support and
admiration, thriving of intellectual stimulation. Nothing is more valuable to a man than a friendship,
not even the love of a woman; it is only a man, after all, who can understand another man. To
seventeenth century men, friendship (just like everything else) is a male blessing a patriarchal gift not
for women. Female friendship was impossible, for an amicable and supportive relationship between
women could never exist. Platonic friendships existed between men, not women. Yet, several female
poets challenged this notion, emphasizing importance of female friendships as male authors and poets
do. Friendship is defined through a feminist lens in Aemilia Lanyer s The Description of Cookham
and Katherine Philips poetry in which female characteristics that are often overlooked are deeming
meaningful through friendship. For Lanyer, female friendship is an act of admiration and support
between women. In The Description of Cookham, she honors Margaret Clifford, the Countess of
Cumberland, through the celebration and lamentation of her royal estate. The Countess and Anne
Clifford run the estate, and Lanyer resides there with them. At Cookham, Lanyer has obtained Grace

Shakespeare Sonnet 130 Tone
Everyone in the world, in one way or another, experiences love; However, the source of it is unknown.
In Sonnet 130 the author, William Shakespeare introduces a speaker who is in love with a woman he
refers to as his mistress. The speaker expresses his love for her through a sonnet, but unlike other
authors of his time, Shakespeare writes his sonnet in a more unique and humorous way. Shakespeare s
excess use of negative similes and a mysterious tone change help convey the meaning of love on a
deeper, more intimate level by showing that looks are not as important as one s inner beauty.
Shakespeare compares his mistress to several beautiful things, but the comparison is never in favor of
the speaker s lover, which shows how the sonnet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker loves his mistress even though she doesn t meet the impossible standards of a goddess.
After countless uncomplimentary statements about his mistress s flaws, the speaker finally shows his
admiration of her by stating that ¨ [he loves] to hear her speak, yet well I know music hath a far more
pleasing sound. Even though he states that his mistress cannot be compared to the beautiful sound of
music and other beauties connected with a goddess, it still shows how the speaker does love things
about his mistress, but he loves specific things about her. He loves his mistress because of her
humanity, the fact she is real and not an exemplary woman. The speaker claim that he has never [seen]
a goddess go... [but] my mistress, when she walks, [she] treads on the ground, shows his assertion that
divine comparisons are not relevant, for his beloved is beautiful without being a goddess and praises
the mistress for her uniqueness instead of making a ridicule of her. With great audacity, the speaker is
able to think [his] love as rare/ as she belied with false compare. When he declares that his love is
indeed rare and valuable, there is a tone change, insult to praise, which reveals how he does not need
to make up false comparisons anymore to describe his mistress s

Vlad The Impaler Facts
His reign was short lived and later that year during another battle against the Turks, Vlad and a small
band of men were ambushed and Vlad was killed. Little else is known about Vlad s death except that
the Turks decapitated him. His head was sent to the Sultan who displayed it on a stake to prove that
the Impaler was finally dead. Vlad is remembered best for his vicious actions but there are some
differences in the way people view him. There are several stories, which some sources take more
serious than others, that list some of the horrendous acts that Vlad committed. In one, a boyar
complained of the stench of the impaled so Vlad had him impaled on a stake higher than all the others
so he would be above the stench (Wilde). It is also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His eyebrows were massive almost meeting over the nose, and with bushy hair that seemed to curl in
its own profusion. The mouth, so far as I could see it under the heavy moustache, was fixed and rather
cruel looking, with peculiarly sharp white teeth. These protruded over the lips, whose remarkable
ruddiness showed astonishing vitality in a man of his years. For the rest, his ears were pale and the
tops extremely pointed. The chin was broad and strong, and the cheeks firm though thin. The general
effect was one of extraordinary pallor. (Stoker)
Parts of this description may fit what is projected in ones mind when picturing the count, but other
parts are quite different. For example the pointy teeth, red lips, and pale skin are expected. However,
the Dracula in the movies is not often sporting a thick moustache. As the book continues, the count
begins to frighten Jonathan. Dracula is always absent during the day, and once while Jonathan was
shaving Dracula came in and startled him resulting in a cut on Jonathan s cheek. At the sight of the
blood Dracula attacked him only stopping when he saw the crucifix hanging on his neck. Strange
events continue to occur throughout the book. Jonathan finds Dracula in a box during the day either
asleep or dead. Three women try to drink Jonathan s blood but Dracula gives them a baby instead.

If I had to make an Instagram bio for Anna Carstens, I would put the flowing things: Mother of 2

Ringwoodite
For centuries, humans thought that the center of the Earth was hollow, but here s how we know it s
not. Most data that we have found about the interior has come from the study of seismic waves. From
that, we ve learned that the internal area of the Earth is made out of solids and liquids. However, there
is other materials that are available that show us what the Earth interior is composed of. Three
additional ways that scientists study the interior of the Earth are the diamond that came from the
mantle, studying of neighboring planets, and meteorites. One technique that scientist use to know what
is in the interior of the earth is a rare diamond from the mantle. This diamond encloses a tiny piece of
an olivine mineral called ringwoodite. Pearson s team found that ringwoodite was 1% of water by
weight, he also said that even though it doesn t sound like much, but, when you realize how much
ringwoodite there is, it could amount to all of the Earth s oceans put together. Therefore, I can
conclude that a technique that scientist use, such as Pearson, used the rare diamond contained of
ringwoodite to confirm that there is an abundant amount of water in our mantle. ... Show more content

Second David Research Paper
From the beginning the revelation of God was an accumulation of people s/man s expectations of what
and who they wanted God to be. By some, God was expected to work by redirecting the stream of
earthly events, mis lug up as a Messiah a second David who should restore the lost glories of Israel s
golden age. By others the coming of the Messiah was looked for as the appearance of a supernatural
celestial being who should not redirect, but put an end, to history; and some held that this would be
done by the direct action of God Himself, acting as his own Messiah ( Streitferdt para.1). I agree with
the idea that God, who was manifested into a fleshly being, Jesus, did pre exist before his birth at
Bethlehem. In Psalm 110 David says this, The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand, until

In John 10:30 Jesus thus identifies Himself with God, and confirms His earthly statement I and My
Father are One (KJV Bible) . (Streidtfert para. 33). In the upper room experience Jesus identifies his
being before the world was formed, proving that he is an eternal Christ. Jesus as a man was subject to
the same things that we as humans are subject to. There are various examples in the Bible where Jesus
is faced with the same temptations that any human being would face. The fact that Jesus was able to
be, do and feel the same as any human being is proof of his physical form and emotional genetic make

Why Did Lynching Occur Towards African Americans in American History?
When President Abraham Lincoln addressed the nation in his Gettysburg address he expressed the
bloodshed from the civil war would bring about a new birth of freedom for the American people and
nation. During the 19th century and in the aftermath of the civil war, white southerners engaged in a
ruthless and never ending cycle of violence against African Americans. The white southerners engaged
in violence over whether or not, after slavery African Americans would get full benefits of
citizenships. The terror that was inflicted by whites onto African Americans resulted in 4,743 of
African Americans being tortured, and lynched between the years of 1882 1968. Lynching has become
the most disturbing and lawless act in American history. Many scholars and leaders have debated over
the reasoning of such violent acts such as lynching during this time period. In the Ida B wells book
The Red Record she explains that lynching wasn t just about accused crimes of the African American
man, but the lynching of African American men in the community who were Black people who were
educated or business men. She concludes this by examining the different excuses the whites gave
regarding the reasoning behind the massive lynching throughout the year. The first excuse to the rest
of the world was to stamp out alleged race riots. Ida B. wells argues this couldn t have been the case

British Colonization Of India
The other main region of the globe we see the harmful effects of colonization is the Indian
subcontinent. By the beginning of the 18th century, British influence in India was primarily limited to
a few trading outposts along the coast. During the 1750s, the British began to conquer most of
southern India. As time went on, the British conquered all of India, either through direct control or by
forcing leaders to become allies with them. In the early days of colonization, the main ruler of India
was not the British government but the East India Company who used India was a source of materials
that they would trade. Britain later took control of the East India Company and put India under the

The 1935 Government Act of India proposes more governmental reforms and allows for an assembly
made up of Indian but it is rejected by Indian nationalists who want dominion status granted to them
immediately. Beginning in 1946, the Muslim League begins to advocate for an independent Muslim
state, which causes widespread panic. India receives its independence from Great Britain in 1947 but
as their last major act the British governors separate India into two new countries: India and Pakistan.
Many people are forced to leave their homes in order to get to the new country and refugees become
an issue in both countries. Widespread fighting breaks out along the borders as people try to get to the
country that corresponds with their religion. The new governments struggle to agree on who will get
what parts of the natural resources, military and financial resources along with the regions of Jammu
and Kashmir. Great Britain sold Kashmir to a maharajah during the colonial era and as they were
withdrawing, gave him the option to going to either country. Most other states sided with religions but

This episode is about the story of Mike and Scott Ciprari, two brothers who were dealing with
problems in their custom drum company. The Ciprari brothers are well known in their town of
Southbridge, Massachusetts, however their once close relationship is presently a frigid one as income
issues, unpaid bills, and complaining employees undermine to demolish their relationship and their

Nirvana Essay
For this field trip we visited the exhibition called Shifting objectives held at M plus pavilion. The
show introduces the history of twentieth and twenty first century design in Asia within a global
framework. It was Indeed an eye opening experience to broaden our understanding over those iconic
designs of different countries from pluralistic perspectives. In this report, I would like to compare two
of the Japanese chair designs shown in the exhibition: Zaisu and Nirvana. First and foremost, Zaisu,
which in Japanese means legless chair, is a modern design by the Japanese designer Kenmochi Isamu.
It epitomizes the booming innovative design industry after post war period. The chair was made of
rosewood veneering plywood. In terms of design ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It suffices to question those unnecessary ornamentations of postmodern design. But what is certain is
that the latter blurs the line between art and design. It is reminiscent of the post modernism precursor
Duchamp, whose iconic work Fountain stirs much controversy about the identity of an object. It casts
interesting questions: are things what they perceptually appear to be? Why are things they are?
Although both Zaisu and Nirvana each represents their own stylistic period, they still share a few
things in common. In similarity, both designs feature sleek and inviting design that often appeared in
Japanese style. They have minimalistic geometric shape, and the lines are rounded, rather than
angular. The dark color of both also suggests solidarity and reliability. In reflection, both the modern
and post modern designs inspire me in its own ways. The function and form of modern design creates
the fundamentals of good design that permeates our daily lives. On the other hand, Nirvana reminds
me of exceeding beyond boundary in design, giving new expression and liberating ourselves from
what we know and see every day. It inspires me to view a good design not just based on its
functionality, but also on aspects beyond. The same applies to my work because I now have learnt a
good artist and designer should keep finding new approaches to create their

manner, they aren t connected or linked with one another but looking at the bigger picture, you realize
that they are connected in a much less considerable way. Except the further I go into both of their
readings, the larger the effort I put into struggling with their problems, the more I distinguish the weak
trail of a connection here, a minor commonality there; the more I break the ideas and become aware of
the nearly unnoticeable thread of a relation connecting these two apparently unequal ideas. Ultimately,
this doesn t denote that I can plainly write anything or declare any relation among both of them. It still
requires rationalizing my creativity as well as my vision, spot the verifications and evidence to
completely shore up my hypothesis. In the end, if I am adequately troubled and engaged, a case can

Wittgenstein states: Philosophy must not interfere in any way with the actual use of language, so it can
in the end only describe it. For it cannot justify it either. It leaves everything as it is (Philosophical
Investigations §124). The same goes for Heidegger when he states this about what philosophy is; To
let what shows itself to be seen from itself, just as it shows itself from itself (Being and Time p.58) It
is essential to argue Heidegger s concepts of everydayness and worldliness, and Wittgenstein s notion
of phenomenological representation and language, which is most plainly demonstrated in his
separation between description and explanation. Undoubtedly, there is not a full similarity, there is no
direct correspondence, but the connections that do appear to be there are to some extent exciting and

Roosevelt s Opponents To The New Deal
Roosevelt s Opponents to the New Deal Roosevelt received a lot of credit for the success of his New
Deal Reform Acts, which made him quite popular among so many Americans. However, not everyone
was happy about some of his New Deal Reforms, and he was faced with much opposition from some
individuals as well as a few larger groups. The largest group to oppose not just one, but several of the
New Deal Acts was the United Stated Supreme Court. In 1935 the Supreme Court took a stance from a
legal perspective to invalidate some of these New Deal laws. The first New Deal law to be affected
was the National Recover Association (NRA). The NRA was declared to be unconstitutional, because
it violated fair competition codes and restricted the separation

Sermon On The Mount Chapter 1 Summary
The book of Matthew, The Sermon on the Mount is one account of what Jesus taught during his walk
on earth. Many people of that time witnessed the sermon and were amazed and astonished, not from
what was said, but how it was said. The multitudes of people felted as if Jesus was truly the authority
of God. The purpose of this essay is to offer a critical review of the writing that was presented in class.
Jesus taught that every man has some decisions to make on their journey to the land of milk and
honey.
The story beings from the book of Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7. Chapter 5 starts with Jesus teaching
from the Old Testament writings. And seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain, and when

Jesus said, Be Careful, When you do good deeds, do not do it for any other reason than to bring glory
to the Father. Do this act in private and keep these things to yourselves. Jesus continues his teachings

kingdom first. Chapter 7 continues with, be careful about criticizing others, ask God for all of your
needs, do for others what you would want them to do for you. This is the meaning of the Law of
Moses and the teachings of the prophets. (Puchner, 2013, p.823) He finishes his teaches with, The way

people from bad with the parable of the fruit of the trees. He warns the multitude that anyone that does
not heed the story will surely regret it as he explains it though the following parable, he who builds his

Benjamin Franklin And John Winthrop
Benjamin Franklin and John Winthrop, men with different ideals, present the same notion that
America should be presented as a city upon a hill. Franklin believed that the American dream should
be presented as an ideal where men and women are equal and can both move up in social class on
their own, practicing any religion they desired. On the other hand, Winthrop believed that the new
world was a religious safe haven only for the Puritans. American Exceptionalism was overall the main
focus, guiding America to define itself as a special nation founded upon democratic values and liberty.

Franklin had a lot of respect for women, especially in a social setting. He did not a typical man s

autobiography, Franklin spoke of his wife with compassion and appreciation quoting an English
proverb He that would thrive must ask his wife (Franklin 62). Franklin respected his wife for her work
ethic and considered himself lucky to such an amazing woman in his life. Through his respect for his
wife, Franklin demonstrated a respect for all women and not just their ability to do basic household
chores but their ability to perform difficult tasks in the workplace as well. He believed that there was
room for women in the American Dream. During this time, women did not have very large roles in
society besides being in charge or maintaining the household, but Franklin foreshadowed an America
that would have women as a strong part of the workforce and leadership. He had high hopes that
women would climb the ranks of society just as men did.
Franklin, himself climbed the ranks society having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in which

The Sport of Soccer Essay
The Sport of Soccer Not much is known about the origin of soccer. However, the Greeks and Romans
played football and ball kicking games. The London Football Association developed the first sets of
rules in 1863. British sailors and settlers brought the game to India, South America and Europe.
During the late 19th century, soccer was brought to the United States. However, it did not prove
popular until after World War I. In 1908, soccer was made an Olympic event. Since 1952, Hungary
has won the most gold medals with three. Even today, although it is an international game, it has been

In soccer there are many rules that have changed. Back in the 1700 s the playing field was shaped like
a square. There were only four major markings on the field. They were the touchlines, goal lines,
halfway line, and the eighteen yard lines. When the Football Association (FA) was created in 1863, the
first uniform rules were made. FIFA now requires that soccer be played on a rectangular field between
one hundred and one hundred thirty yards long and between fifty and one hundred yards wide. For
international matches the field should be between one hundred ten and one hundred twenty yards long
and between seventy and eighty yards wide. There are two goals, one placed at each end of the field.
They are eight feet tall, eight yards across, and six feet deep. The lines that mark the sides of the field
are called touchlines; those that mark the two ends of the field are called goal lines. Also there are five
other distinctive lines. They are the halfway lines, the goal areas, the penalty areas, the corner marks,
and the center circle. In 1908 soccer was put in every summer Olympic Game. Since 1952 Hungary
has won the most gold medals. By 1930 the interest in soccer was high enough to ensure the success
of the first World Cup. Even though only thirteen Countries entered that was still enough to have the
first World Cup. Soccer didn t come to the United States until 1620. Soccer first became recognized in

List was very much influenced by his visit to America. In America, he observed and analyzed the US s

It was actually written that Hamilton s (1791) Report of the secretary of the Treasury on the Subject of

The Development of an Artificial Life based Software...
The behavior of a solution or a service can be analyzed by taking into account the interaction between
the components of the software. These interactions can be analyzed by developing a framework based
on Artificial Life. This calls for the development of an Artificial Life based Software Ecosystem
model. This paper proposes a framework using Artificial Life in the Software Ecosystem. In order to
find the gaps in the existing methodologies, extensive literature review has been carried out. It was
found that the interest in the topic has been on the increase and the advent of professional Ecosystems
has helped popularizing the phenomenon. However, the present framework do not use the data related
to evolution of the Software for later stages. The proposed methodology would pave way of Artificial
Life in Software Ecosystem.
1. INTRODUCTION A Software Ecosystem (SE) considers developers, clients, operating system,
underlying hardware and other peripheral components. A SE considers the concept of evolution of the
software in the same way as the evolution of a natural ecosystem. It has been pointed out by many
researchers that considering the system s evolution would lead to a better and comprehensive analysis
of the software which would ultimately help in management and development of new versions. The
point can be understood by the following analogy. If we consider that evolution of a human being,
then what humans have done in order to achieve, what they have been able to

Juvenile Delinquency Is Not Acceptable
Juvenile delinquency is when minors commit criminal acts or offenses that are against the law and in
which adult prosecution is not acceptable. It is interesting to note that this was not always the case.
Before juvenile delinquency was established, juveniles were trialed and treated as adults. There was
no such thing as a juvenile court, juvenile correctional facilities, or juvenile support groups, when the
juvenile deviated. Later, many believed that when juveniles deviated that it meant that they needed
guidance and support to help them. This change was made mainly because the value of children
increased due to the fact that children were beginning to live longer and were healthier. Throughout
the semester it has been intriguing to learn more about this topic and learn different theories related to
it, as well as delinquency triggers. There are four theories that relate to juvenile delinquency. Strain
Theory is when the juvenile experiences strain, or stress, which as a result causes them to commit
delinquent acts. Strain can be caused by the juvenile failing to achieve goals, and/or the loss of
positive stimuli or the presentation of negative stimuli. Social Learning Theory is when juveniles learn
to engage in delinquent acts by being reinforced, positively or negatively, in some way. Control
Theory is when the juvenile varies with the levels of control, which causes them to commit delinquent
acts. Labeling Theory is when juveniles are labeled as bad or delinquent ,

Castro s Camouflage and the Sanctions on Cuba
In the second week of October 1995, Cuban President Fidel Castro strolled into the United Nations
building in New York City to attend celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding
of the United Nations (Woolway 1). Outside, the streets of New York bustled with the activity of US

Grappling at identity not just as a Cuban whose poor country is being strangled by the economic
sanctions of a rich country, but also as a Latin American resisting the hegemonic appetites of the
World s only remaining superpower, a non politic camo clad Castro remains a symbol of the plight of
the developing World.
The idea persists throughout the policy community that what Washington really despises about
modern day Cuba is not communism, it is Fidel Castro (Leogrande 216). The man who is the symbol
of sanctions against Cuba is also the primary cause for the continuance of sanctions against the island
nation. Many believe that recent efforts to tighten economic sanctions against the Cuban government,
such as the Helms Burton laws, only make more powerful the symbols of Castro and strengthen his
and his supporters resolve to resist change. A prominent Castro critic, former Costa Rican President
Oscar Arias remarked about Helms Burton, [Measures] that tend to impose more sacrifices on the

They both knew that the workers were being watched after a few tries of door knocking and that by

Questions On The Decision Of An Option Contract Essay
Problem page 184 Parts 1 and 2 1. Chapter 2 explained that a promise made by an offeror that
effectively limits the offeror s power to revoke the offer is referred to as an option contract. When A
offered to sell B Greenacre and set a fixed time period of five days for the offeree to accept the option
the contract was sealed. Therefore A would be wrong to deny having a contract with B. 2. Restatement
43 gives the specific ways that A could have been right in stating that there was no contract with B.
One of the obvious ways would have been if B did not accept the option within the designated time
period. Another reason that comes to mind is if an offeror diverts from the original offer. Had the
information given to B from the recorder had been reliable then s A stated the option would have no

Taking a Look at Bullying
Bullying Bullying in schools was perceived to be a normal part of adolescent, however, when people
begin to have this mentality, they forget that bullying is physically and psychologically harmful to
both the bully and the victim. Bullying was known as an unfortunate cycle of adolescents and for
many years have been dismissed as a passage of growing up. But not until tragic events have led to
believe that bullying has a greater impact on a child s life what first were playful jokes it has led to
traumatic experience and at some cases death. According to John Cloud a writer of the Times

10 shots. According to report five students were hit and three were dead. Leaving people asking what
would prompt a 17 year old to do such a malicious crime. The answer may lie in T.J s childhood. Lane

and Columbia Records. In the wake of the Michael Brown incident with law enforcement. Even
though some people may argue that New National Anthem is just another mainstream song, the song
holds a strong response to the struggle of growing up as an African American and having to deal with
police brutality within the community.

The artist brings up Trayvon Martin and the similar injustices that he and Michael Brown faced, thus
implying that the young community, mainly blacks, are afraid to go out with the fear of being
attacked. It also demonstrates that, in recent years, the police force has been the executioners, the
cause, in the conflict of social and racial tension. It is to be noted as well that the police force should
not expect the black community to be at a standstill, that the black community will respond to the
actions taken by the police officers. The artist, T.I., makes this clear in his song, detailing the events
that occurred during the writing of his song. This violence and killings have gotten so out of hand, to
the point where the violence has become part of the New National Anthem, henceforth the title of the
song.
Lastly, the song highlights the ongoing conflicts in the U.S. within two specific factions. It is centered
around the injustice and the police brutality that has occurred recently, even connecting it back to
historical efforts by the black community to relieve the oppression that follows them. It is not just a
mainstream song, but a song with a strong sense of the ongoing conflict that will be in future history
books, where historians will analyze it to get a stronger sense of the sentiments of the African
American community during this time period. This would allow them to better analyze both sides of

Gregor Jordan s Two Hands
Usually when I think of Australian cinema, the first couple of movies that come to mind are the Mad
Max films, Crocodile Dundee and Strictly Ballroom. These are all great Australian classics but I find
that there s one movie that perfectly encapsulates the true Australian culture through a simplistic story.
For me it s Gregor Jordan s, Two Hands released in 1999, an amusing yet interesting film which
features a young Heath Ledger playing the role of Jimmy, a bouncer at a nightclub in Kings Cross who
wants to be accepted by the gangster boss Pando, played by Bryan Brown. Eventually Jimmy has a
chance to prove himself to Pando by delivering ten thousand dollars to an address in Bondi, however
by a series of unfortunate events, the person collecting

Discuss how Porter s 5 forces model might contribute to a SWOT analysis
Created in 1994 and launched in 1995, Amazon.com today is a group which count several websites

even the group Abebooks, specialized in ancient and rare books. In 2007, Jeff Besos, Amazon s CEO,
launched the Kindle, made to compete with a whole new range of pads like the Apple Ipad. Over the
years Amazon has diversified its activities and is today competing on a product entirely different from
their original service. This is due to the business experience developed over the years which has create

As we have seen the external environment has positive (opportunities) and negative (threats)
possibilities. A company should take advantage whenever it is possible of its opportunities coming
from its current weaknesses and strengths. An opportunity is usually completely or marginally out of
the range of the company s influence, meaning for instance the development of a new way of making
business for the firm, like the development of the e business a few years ago.
While the threats are a problem in the environment which can then get worse and become hazardous
for a firm s growth, such as new competition for example.
As we have seen previously the SWOT analysis can be consider as a picture of the company, which
can show some movements but will not provide the next pictures, or even a lead to know which way
things are moving. As an example we can use the case of IBM which was a leader in the IT industry. A
SWOT analysis conduct by the Yankee Group showed that IBM was immovable from its leader
position, but since that time the company has been overtaken by firms like Microsoft or Intel. This
shows one of the lack of this analysis which did not lead the firm into strategic decisions when a
different situation appeared (money loosing situation). And compared to its competitors IBM reacted
less adequately which conducted the firm to loose market shares, because the analysis lean on
unmoving factors more than on how the company

Think about a skill most people do not have but could benefit from mastering. Why would people
benefit from this skill? What are the consequences of not having it?
Patience is a skill most people do not have but could benefit from mastering. One of the benefits of

I became very impatient knowing that I would be sitting for eight hours a day for two weeks. It has
been awhile since I had to sit that long, but instead of going with my first instinct to give up due to the
lack of not having patience. Somehow after a few days I became more patient with myself and
believed in me that I can accomplish what I came to study for. After two long weeks of lectures, and
final exams I received a certificate of completion from class. Now that I overcame the class room it
was time for my state exam. I first was nervous but at the same time confident because I knew if I
tooke my time and have the patience the exam would not be so bad and it wasn t, because I patiently
listen to every detail my instructor gave the class.
Everyone that becomes an axia student should master this skill, once I became an axia student I knew
in order for me to communicate more effectively with my classmates and instructor I had to master
this skill and keep it. It has been a while since I had to do a lot of reading and re searching. But being
patient has brought me through so far.
I have challenging days that is easier to endure now that I have the patience to take the time needed to
accomplish my goal. There is one thing I do know is that the only thing impossible is not believing in
you.
An impatient person that has never encountered professional online communication would be loss due
to the lack of patience and self confidence. There are a lot of

Lincoln s Emancipation Proclamation Essay
Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 to April 14, 1865) was the 16th president of the United States
and is regarded as one of America s greatest heroes due to his role as savior of the Union and
emancipator of the slaves. His rise from humble beginnings to achieving the highest office in the land
is a remarkable story. He was suddenly and tragically assassinated at a time when his country needed
him to complete the great task remaining before the nation. His eloquence of democracy and
insistence that the Union was worth saving embody the ideals of self government that all nations strive
to achieve. Lincoln s distinctively human and humane personality and incredible impact on the nation
has endowed him with an enduring legacy.

The Civil War, Lincoln said, was the ultimate test of the preservation of the Union created in 1776,
and the dead at Gettysburg fought to uphold this cause. Lincoln evoked the Declaration of
Independence, saying it was up to the living to ensure that the government of the people, by the
people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth, and this Union was dedicated to the proposition
that all men are created equal. A common interpretation was that the President was expanding the
cause of the Civil War from simply reunifying the Union to also fighting for equality and abolishing
slavery.
Abraham Lincoln s Assassination
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, by well known actor and Confederate
sympathizer John Wilkes Booth at Ford s Theater in Washington, D.C. He was taken from the theater
to the Petersen House across the street and laid in a coma for nine hours before dying the next
morning. His body lay in state at the Capitol before a funeral train took him back to his final resting
place in Springfield, Illinois.
Family
Abraham Lincoln was born to Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Thomas was a strong and
determined pioneer who found a moderate level of prosperity and was well respected in the
community. The couple had two other children: Abraham s older sister Sarah and younger brother
Thomas, who died in infancy.
When young Abraham was nine years old, his mother died of tremetol (milk sickness) at

Allure Of Democracy
The Allure of Democracy
A democratic system is one that states strive for, as it allows for popular participation through the
electoral process; and depending on implementation tactics, states may or may not be successful in
this pursuit. Democracy looks different across nations, as exemplified with presidential, parliamentary
and mixed systems being put in place. However, what is the allure of democracy? Herein, differences
in executive leadership and duties and differences in powers are addressed in order to better
understand what democracy is and why it is a sought after system of governance. Democracy is based
on two fundamental concepts. The first of which is political participation, which requires all citizens

They are, however, often times more stable systems. Paradoxically, the executive branch, some would
argue, is not sovereign the citizen is. This is because the president, as well as legislators, have a
responsibility to uphold the wants of the people. This is often debated, though. A major player falling
under this system is the United States. In the U.S. presidential system, voting for both the legislative
branch and the presidential seat are voted on simultaneously (rather than a legislative branch being
voted in, who then vote in the president as seen in parliament elections), and only two political parties
stand out amongst the rest. There is no split government, and no such thing as a vote of confidence,
meaning it is much harder to remove a presidential figure (they must be impeached). Political parties
don t get to choose the president (they choose a candidate to run), and though the president seeks to
establish a cooperative relationship across parties it isn t essential to his/her stay in office (Dahl, n.d.)
(Moe Caldwell, 1994).

The Social Contract
In The Social Contract, Jean Jacque Rousseau theorized the best way to establish a political
community in the face of social problems. He believed that legitimate political authority comes from a
social contract agreed upon by all citizens for their mutual preservation. Everyone forfeits the same
amount of rights and has the same duties in order to establish freedom and to create equality under the
law. While modern day laws presumably work to ensure liberty and equality, there is a pervasive sense
of unfair treatment (Conley and O Barr 2002: 5) when micro analyzing the application of these laws.
Deliberate uses of language work to influence the law and judicial hearing as seen in conversation
analysis and discourse analysis. Conversational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sally Merry s experience at the UN revolves around a culture of human rights that is English
speaking, secular, Universalist, and law governed, which is not a relatable framework for many non
Western countries. As a result, countries in which English is the language of educated people are more
active in debates, while non English speaking countries must take the time to translate conversations
into their native languages and interpret from there. Conley and O Barr witness this Standard
Language Ideology, which elevates English as an ideal standard language. In one particular case, a
defendant spoke Mixtec, a Mesoamerican language spoken in Mexico, yet he was provided with a
Cuban Spanish speaking translator with no knowledge of Mixtec. Translation difficulties occurred due
to Referential Transparency, assumption that expressions in one language can be unproblematically...
translated verbatim into another (Conley O Barr 2005: 150). The attorney asked the witness for
Spanish terms even though the witness did not know Spanish. This trial, as well as UN meetings, force
non English speakers to assimilate to western rhetoric that is difficult to adapt to and loses the nuance

The Static Model Of Data Mining Essay
Abstract: Lot of research done in mining software repository. In this paper we discussed about the
static model of data mining to extract defect .Different algorithms are used to find defects like naïve
bayes algorithm, Neural Network, Decision tree. But Naïve Bayes algorithm has the best result .Data
mining approach are used to predict defects in software .We used NASA dataset namely, Data rive.
Software metrics are also used to find defects.
Keywords: Naïve Bayes algorithm, Software Metric, Solution Architecture,.
I. INTRODUCTION
According to [1], multiple algorithms are combined to show better prediction capability using votes.
Naïve Bayes algorithm gives the best result if used individual than others. The contribution of this
paper based on two reasons. Firstly, it provides a solution architecture which is based on software
repository and secondly it provides benchmarks that provide an ensemble of data mining models in the
defective module prediction problem and compare the result. Author used NASA dataset online [2]
which contain five large software projects with thousands of modules. Bohem found 80/20 rule and
about the half modules are defect free [3]. Fixing Defects in the operational phase is considerably
more expensive than doing so in the development or testing phase. Cost escalation factors ranges from
5:1 to 100:1 [3]. It tells defects can be fixed in operational phase not in development and testing
phase. The study of defect prediction can be classified into

Analysis Of The Poem Wha
A FRANTIC banging awoke the mare from her peaceful slumber, eliciting a great yawn as she raised
her muzzle slowly up into the air, stretching out her wings and wincing until she heard them click,
relief spreading through her body. Then looking up to the window of her own little bedroom which
was made even smaller by the clutter around the unpainted cobble walls she groaned as she saw the
betraying blackness of the night and rolled back over, murmuring, Wha s matter?
Hearing no response for a few seconds, she smiled and nestled deeper under the cover, sighing as the
warmth surrounded her body. She had no chance of returning to sleep, however, as the harsh
hammering returned, louder this time. Squeaking, she then shot up from the bed, ... Show more

The stallion, however, didn t seem quite so excited, his own expression one of great urgency. Jerking
his head to his left quickly he gallopea stop and all but slamming into the mare, crushing her against
the wall and making her groan. Catching himself almost immediately he jumped away from her, his
eyes narrowing as he picked up on her suddenly hungry eyes.
Listen to me, Blue! he whispered, his voice scratchy and breathless, his ears pinned against his neck,
the left being ripped almost down to the base. There s not time to argue, but we ve gotta go!
The mare Blue frowned, cocking her head slightly as she glanced out to the corridor, then looking up
to her window where the moon shone bright in the cloudless, star lit sky. Why? What s wrong with
Look, do you trust me?
Well, yeah. You know I do, Rip, but
If you trust me then shut up and follow my lead. We ve gotta get out of here, right now. The stallion
spun around and trotted over to the doorway, displaying his saddlebags, seemingly filled with food,
for the first time. Blue, however, only remained where she was, looking around her tiny room as the
stallion s magic engulfed an old set of her horseshoes laying in the corner and carried them over to his
side. Then, as he peeked around the corner of the doorway tentatively, the

Hennessey Venom Swot Analysis
A car to a normal person will get you from point A to point B and not think anything different. To
other individuals, a car is actually a part of its owner. They treat it as part of the family. These
individuals will take their pride and joy and manipulate their automobile to get the most out of it. This
could be just for looks or for performance. One of the most important things to a car junkie looks for
is speed. Since the day the automobile was created, individuals kept pushing the limits of how fast
they could go. The Model T when it was invented had a top speed between 40 45 MPH back in 1919.
These days, individuals have been able to slightly improve upon those numbers. In 2014, a Hennessey
Venom GT, a combination of a Lotus Elise chassis and 1,244 hp 7.0 liter twin turbocharged V8, was
recorded as exceeding 270.49 mph. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Hennessey Venom GT also only made one pass, while to actually secure the top speed record you
most make a pass back and forth as to take wind into account and average the time. Since the
Hennessey Venom GT only made one run, the Guinness Book of World Records would not validate its
speed as the world s fastest car. While everyone loves to drive fast, only a few are able to say they
have driven the fastest ever. It will only be a matter of time before we have automobiles that could
well top 300 MPH. The more science and computers play into the area of creating the fastest
automobile, the records, we feel, will be breaking over and over again for a long time to

  • 2. Life In The 1970 s Imagine the worse time in your life, the time when you felt hopeless and were searching for answers as to why you were so miserable, why was each day getting worse instead of better? This is what it was like almost every day for the people living in the 1970 s. The 1970 s was a period of devastation and desperation which led the citizens of the United States to seek help and comfort from outside sources, which led to even more devastation for some people who chose to be in groups that made their problems worse. A lot of people in the 1970 s gave up on hope and happiness, feeling that as time went on, life would get worse; this is when they turned to religion. Religion started to spread like wild fire in the 1970 s, getting many people to turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Temple was part of the cultural trend because it preached religion and gave people the answer s they had been searching for. It made people feel like they belonged to something and that life was going to get better despite everything going on with the government. Peoples Temple compared to other religious movements in some ways, but it was definitely the deadliest. There were other religious movements that ended similarly to Peoples Temple, but the number of people effected was much lower, such as the group Heavens Gate. The 1970 s was a very rough time for many people, it made people feel hopeless, which is when they started to search for other answers. When people joined a religious movement, such as People s Temple, they probably saw it as a light at the end of the tunnel and that there was hope, not that they would end up dead. Even though many people were affected from the devastation of the 1970 s, America was able to pull out of that dark time and become great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Management styles Generally, workers provide plans, methods, reports, etc, can be complicated and time consuming. In order to achieve a particular goal, gathering information required can take a long time. In addition, in a formal and sometimes very rigid hierarchical structure, time, deadlines and efficiency are secondary to compare with detail, rigorous logic and perfection of form. However, Spain is no longer the sleepy country it once was. Although the Spanish tardiness of time perception is not regarded as inexcusable, meetings often start on time especially in Barcelona and Madrid. Titles in Spain are very important. The highest ones such as vice president are normally reserved for very senior executive level positions. They should not be used as casually as they are in the America. Rewards and compliments are usually not given publicly in Spain (Going Global Career Guides. Spain, 2006). Boss and subordinate relations In Spain, the rank has its privileges. Spaniards always do business with the most important people because of their pride and self importance. Also there is a rigid chain of command that must be respected. Whatever the field you are in, you must follow a hierarchy which is a proper way for communicating with particular individuals and an expected procedure. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Charlie Chaplin s Commentary On Society In The Film City... City Lights In the 1931 film City Lights , Charlie Chaplin opens our eyes , so to speak, about how society values trivial elements of people over the deeper person by using blindness. In this film, Chaplin brilliantly mixes lighthearted comedy with deep and complex ideas about problems with society. Chaplin uses music, gags, and a genuine love connection to portray this point in multiple ways throughout the movie. Chaplin also took the bold step of not making a talking movie, even though they were available at the time, making the details in the pictures and sounds he was creating that much more important. What makes City Lights so special, and different from other comedies, is Chaplin s natural blend of comedic scenes with tense and serious scenes. Chaplin weaved together a masterpiece that culminates in the end with the lady seeing who she fell in love with, which is also the moment Chaplin slaps the viewer in the face with the realization that the priorities in society are misguided and that the important things cannot be seen with the eye. To see Chaplin s commentary on society, one must first look at how he uses sound to spread his message. Right from the first scene, Chaplin infuses his views on society with sound as he plays the kazoo to represent the high class men speaking when they are unveiling a new statue. During this speech, the view can see the tramp (Charlie Chaplin) behind them sleeping on top of the statue. With this scene, Chaplin is saying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Canadian Punk Band Music is a powerful force in this world that has always brought joy to people and been a way to almost escape reality. Punk is no exception to this, all of the artists in this movie were extremely passionate about what they do and they all used it as some sort of escape, whether it was just to feel young again or to avoid bad neighborhoods and drugs, punk was their escape. The first group they talked out about from Canada, called the Forgotten Rebels, were seen as sort of godfathers of punk and influenced a lot of people around the world. The lead singer of the band talked about how they still have real jobs in Canada aside from being rock stars, and how preforming was a way to escaped that life and feel like kids again. They also did it to entertain themselves and to just have fun with the music and the idea of punk. • 7. The Secret to Humor is Surprise in The Weather of New... Critical Analysis Essay The secret to humor is surprise Aristotle. The two stories I m going to talk about The Weather of New England by Mark Twain and The Dog That Bit People by James Thurber are both strange humorous essay with a twist. Both stories have a central conflict, in The Dog That Bit People a family is burden with a dog that bites everyone, including the narrator. The Weather of New England talks about the weather of the new colonies and how spontaneous they were and the different forms they came in. Both humorous authors use style, tone, and perspective as a technique to tell their story and conflicts. Mark Twain uses style in The Weather of New England , when he uses words like sumptuous and Centennial to describe what s going on in the story. The author refers to the weather as sumptuous saying that there are splendid and lavish varieties of the weather of New England that cause a stranger to admire and regret or pity the weather. He also says that the brightest gems in the New England weather is the dazzling uncertainty. The authors uses words like dazzling to show his style. His style is sarcastic because he makes the uncertainty of not knowing what the weathers going to be as a good thing when really the unexpected weather is causing problems. • 9. Corrie Ten Boom Analysis I believe that any obstacle or disadvantage can be made into something positive. The story of Corrie ten Boom, a Polish holocaust victim, and two homeschooled friends I know with cerebral palsy prove this point in many ways. In the mid eighteenth century, World War II brought chaos and genocide into center stage in the world arena. Jews were being torn from their homes and sent to concentration camps, where they would either die instantly or be made to work under unthinkably brutal conditions. Corrie ten Boom, a middle aged Polish woman, worked together with her whole family to help hide Jews in a secret room in her house. Once the operation was revealed to Nazi authorities, however, most of the ten Booms were shipped off to concentration camps where they suffered isolation, humiliation, starvation, and severe physical and emotional pain. Through this simple play, the cast demonstrated that being different from everyone else does not have to be a setback. Though these two have had to deal with constant and debilitating disadvantages throughout their lives, they still face their struggles with courage and humility. Their personalities shine and they treat others with respect. Having met them personally, I can testify that their lives are touching other people s lives and are encouraging others who have physical, mental, or emotional disabilities. Also in 1949, Disney formed a music company to create, produce and maintain control over the music and songs featured in Disney productions but often performed by famous artists. Disney later moved into live action features with Treasure Island in 1950. Disney continued to innovate in the live action format by combining animation with live action in the film Mary Poppins. As Disney s film library had grown, Disney brought distribution in house with the formation of Buena Vista Distribution Co., in 1953. In films, Disney kept costs low by developing its own talent pool. For cartoon features, characters were infinitely reusable and never required a salary, while for live action features, Disney shied away from using well known and expensive talent. Audiences were drawn because of the reputation Disney had established for providing quality, reliable, and predictable family entertainment. In the early 1950s, Disney was quick to recognize the growing medium of television to provide new outlets for Disney characters with The Wonderful World of Disney first airing in 1953 and The Mickey Mouse Club in 1955. • 11. The Description Of Cookham Analysis Friendship is a blessing, people say, and it is. Men often express their appreciation and respect for male friends through literature. A fellowship, medieval authors call it. A deep and unbreakable connection between males, transcending romantic love. A relationship based on mutual support and admiration, thriving of intellectual stimulation. Nothing is more valuable to a man than a friendship, not even the love of a woman; it is only a man, after all, who can understand another man. To seventeenth century men, friendship (just like everything else) is a male blessing a patriarchal gift not for women. Female friendship was impossible, for an amicable and supportive relationship between women could never exist. Platonic friendships existed between men, not women. Yet, several female poets challenged this notion, emphasizing importance of female friendships as male authors and poets do. Friendship is defined through a feminist lens in Aemilia Lanyer s The Description of Cookham and Katherine Philips poetry in which female characteristics that are often overlooked are deeming meaningful through friendship. For Lanyer, female friendship is an act of admiration and support between women. In The Description of Cookham, she honors Margaret Clifford, the Countess of Cumberland, through the celebration and lamentation of her royal estate. The Countess and Anne Clifford run the estate, and Lanyer resides there with them. At Cookham, Lanyer has obtained Grace from both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Shakespeare Sonnet 130 Tone Everyone in the world, in one way or another, experiences love; However, the source of it is unknown. In Sonnet 130 the author, William Shakespeare introduces a speaker who is in love with a woman he refers to as his mistress. The speaker expresses his love for her through a sonnet, but unlike other authors of his time, Shakespeare writes his sonnet in a more unique and humorous way. Shakespeare s excess use of negative similes and a mysterious tone change help convey the meaning of love on a deeper, more intimate level by showing that looks are not as important as one s inner beauty. Shakespeare compares his mistress to several beautiful things, but the comparison is never in favor of the speaker s lover, which shows how the sonnet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After countless uncomplimentary statements about his mistress s flaws, the speaker finally shows his admiration of her by stating that ¨ [he loves] to hear her speak, yet well I know music hath a far more pleasing sound. Even though he states that his mistress cannot be compared to the beautiful sound of music and other beauties connected with a goddess, it still shows how the speaker does love things about his mistress, but he loves specific things about her. He loves his mistress because of her humanity, the fact she is real and not an exemplary woman. The speaker claim that he has never [seen] a goddess go... [but] my mistress, when she walks, [she] treads on the ground, shows his assertion that divine comparisons are not relevant, for his beloved is beautiful without being a goddess and praises the mistress for her uniqueness instead of making a ridicule of her. With great audacity, the speaker is able to think [his] love as rare/ as she belied with false compare. There are several stories, which some sources take more serious than others, that list some of the horrendous acts that Vlad committed. Those are the simple ways I can sum her up if someone asked me, Who is Anna Carstens? In all reality though, Anna is just as complex as any human. All though her stature makes her out to be only 19 and 5 foot and 4 inches, it seems as if she has lived most lives. • 16. Ringwoodite For centuries, humans thought that the center of the Earth was hollow, but here s how we know it s not. Most data that we have found about the interior has come from the study of seismic waves. From that, we ve learned that the internal area of the Earth is made out of solids and liquids. However, there is other materials that are available that show us what the Earth interior is composed of. Three additional ways that scientists study the interior of the Earth are the diamond that came from the mantle, studying of neighboring planets, and meteorites. One technique that scientist use to know what is in the interior of the earth is a rare diamond from the mantle. This diamond encloses a tiny piece of an olivine mineral called ringwoodite. Pearson s team found that ringwoodite was 1% of water by weight, he also said that even though it doesn t sound like much, but, when you realize how much ringwoodite there is, it could amount to all of the Earth s oceans put together. Therefore, I can conclude that a technique that scientist use, such as Pearson, used the rare diamond contained of ringwoodite to confirm that there is an abundant amount of water in our mantle. ... By others the coming of the Messiah was looked for as the appearance of a supernatural celestial being who should not redirect, but put an end, to history; and some held that this would be done by the direct action of God Himself, acting as his own Messiah ( Streitferdt para.1). I agree with the idea that God, who was manifested into a fleshly being, Jesus, did pre exist before his birth at Bethlehem. In Psalm 110 David says this, The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool (KJV Bible). Here David had a revelation about the Mesiah. Jesus as a man was subject to the same things that we as humans are subject to. There are various examples in the Bible where Jesus is faced with the same temptations that any human being would face. The fact that Jesus was able to be, do and feel the same as any human being is proof of his physical form and emotional genetic make up. When President Abraham Lincoln addressed the nation in his Gettysburg address he expressed the bloodshed from the civil war would bring about a new birth of freedom for the American people and nation. During the 19th century and in the aftermath of the civil war, white southerners engaged in a ruthless and never ending cycle of violence against African Americans. The white southerners engaged in violence over whether or not, after slavery African Americans would get full benefits of citizenships. The terror that was inflicted by whites onto African Americans resulted in 4,743 of African Americans being tortured, and lynched between the years of 1882 1968. Lynching has become the most disturbing and lawless act in American history. Many scholars and leaders have debated over the reasoning of such violent acts such as lynching during this time period. In the Ida B wells book The Red Record she explains that lynching wasn t just about accused crimes of the African American man, but the lynching of African American men in the community who were Black people who were educated or business men. It is reminiscent of the post modernism precursor Duchamp, whose iconic work Fountain stirs much controversy about the identity of an object. It casts interesting questions: are things what they perceptually appear to be? Why are things they are? Although both Zaisu and Nirvana each represents their own stylistic period, they still share a few things in common. In similarity, both designs feature sleek and inviting design that often appeared in Japanese style. They have minimalistic geometric shape, and the lines are rounded, rather than angular. The dark color of both also suggests solidarity and reliability. In reflection, both the modern and post modern designs inspire me in its own ways. • 34. Juvenile Delinquency Is Not Acceptable Juvenile delinquency is when minors commit criminal acts or offenses that are against the law and in which adult prosecution is not acceptable. It is interesting to note that this was not always the case. Before juvenile delinquency was established, juveniles were trialed and treated as adults. There was no such thing as a juvenile court, juvenile correctional facilities, or juvenile support groups, when the juvenile deviated. Later, many believed that when juveniles deviated that it meant that they needed guidance and support to help them. This change was made mainly because the value of children increased due to the fact that children were beginning to live longer and were healthier. Throughout the semester it has been intriguing to learn more about this topic and learn different theories related to it, as well as delinquency triggers. There are four theories that relate to juvenile delinquency. Strain Theory is when the juvenile experiences strain, or stress, which as a result causes them to commit delinquent acts. Strain can be caused by the juvenile failing to achieve goals, and/or the loss of positive stimuli or the presentation of negative stimuli. Social Learning Theory is when juveniles learn to engage in delinquent acts by being reinforced, positively or negatively, in some way. Control Theory is when the juvenile varies with the levels of control, which causes them to commit delinquent acts. Labeling Theory is when juveniles are labeled as bad or delinquent , ... A prominent Castro critic, former Costa Rican President Oscar Arias remarked about Helms Burton, [Measures] that tend to impose more sacrifices on the Cuban people are arguments one gives Fidel Castro to continue living in the Cold War (qtd. in Zimbalist 162). Indeed Castro seems to publicize through his clothes, that even though the Soviet Union is no more, the Cold War continues to endure in the warm waters off South Florida. As ... All the President s Men Essay example All the President s Men The movie All the President s Men (1976), is based on the work of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein two Washington Post newspaper writers, who uncovered the cover up of the White House s involvement in the Democratic Party National headquarters, Watergate, break in. At first, Bob Woodward discovers what seems to be a minor break in but is surprised to find that top lawyers were already on the defense case. He also discovers that names and addresses of Republican fund organizers were being accused, which further aroused his suspicions. When he brings this to the attention of the head of the Washington Post, he is prepared to run with the story and assigns Woodward and Carl Bernstein to it. Their findings of this ... They asked a Washington Post female co worker to get them the office s worker directory since she used to date one of the men that worked at the committee. They then took these workers phone numbers from the directory listing and called them up. This is unethical according to the theories listed in our book, first of they are using another s past relation in order to get papers for them, and second they are intruding in these workers lives. The problem would not be that big if they just gave a call, but when they noticed no one answered their phones they actually went out and bombarded these people at their homes with questions, when the information they took were without permission in the first place. Their actions did not follow both Bok s Model and Aristotle s Golden Mean theories. One of Bok s values on ethical issues is to have empathy for others, which Bernstein and Woodward didn t have. They both knew that the workers were being watched after a few tries of door knocking and that by them showing up and talking can cause these people to lose their jobs. They both still pursued on and didn t care what would happen with those people. Aristotle s Golden Mean of making the majority happy was also not applied. • 37. Questions On The Decision Of An Option Contract Essay Problem page 184 Parts 1 and 2 1. Chapter 2 explained that a promise made by an offeror that effectively limits the offeror s power to revoke the offer is referred to as an option contract. When A offered to sell B Greenacre and set a fixed time period of five days for the offeree to accept the option the contract was sealed. Therefore A would be wrong to deny having a contract with B. 2. Restatement 43 gives the specific ways that A could have been right in stating that there was no contract with B. One of the obvious ways would have been if B did not accept the option within the designated time period. Another reason that comes to mind is if an offeror diverts from the original offer. Had the information given to B from the recorder had been reliable then s A stated the option would have no longer been an agreement between the two but in this case it was erroneous and unreliable. Notes pg. 225 Question 1 Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 1. Step Saver felt that the acceptance of any terms and conditions of their agreement was done so by the consumer in various actions. The initial acceptance would be the completion of the purchase over the phone and the receipt of the merchandise. Once the consumer breaks the seal of the packaging it is assumed that the consumer has accepted the terms and conditions of the product. 2. Taking a Look at Bullying Bullying Bullying in schools was perceived to be a normal part of adolescent, however, when people begin to have this mentality, they forget that bullying is physically and psychologically harmful to both the bully and the victim. Bullying was known as an unfortunate cycle of adolescents and for many years have been dismissed as a passage of growing up. But not until tragic events have led to believe that bullying has a greater impact on a child s life what first were playful jokes it has led to traumatic experience and at some cases death. According to John Cloud a writer of the Times magazine a 17 year old named T.J. Lane was supposedly seen in a high school outside of Cleveland with a gun. The crime scene was Chardon High School cafeteria where it was reported that Lane fired 10 shots. According to report five students were hit and three were dead. Leaving people asking what would prompt a 17 year old to do such a malicious crime. The answer may lie in T.J s childhood. Lane looked like a friendly guy who had a great social life and who even had a ton of friends on his social media accounts. But behind the lovable personality lied the hardship of his childhood. Both of his parents were arrested for domestic violence, this forced Lane to live with his grandparents. It is unfortunate that T.J. could not find people that could help him with his situation and now he will pay for his actions. In the wake of the Michael Brown incident with law enforcement. The artist brings up Trayvon Martin and the similar injustices that he and Michael Brown faced, thus implying that the young community, mainly blacks, are afraid to go out with the fear of being attacked. It also demonstrates that, in recent years, the police force has been the executioners, the cause, in the conflict of social and racial tension. It is to be noted as well that the police force should not expect the black community to be at a standstill, that the black community will respond to the actions taken by the police officers. The artist, T.I., makes this clear in his song, detailing the events that occurred during the writing of his song. This violence and killings have gotten so out of hand, to the point where the violence has become part of the New National Anthem, henceforth the title of the song. Lastly, the song highlights the ongoing conflicts in the U.S. within two specific factions. It is centered around the injustice and the police brutality that has occurred recently, even connecting it back to historical efforts by the black community to relieve the oppression that follows them. It is not just a mainstream song, but a song with a strong sense of the ongoing conflict that will be in future history books, where historians will analyze it to get a stronger sense of the sentiments of the African American community during this time period. This would allow them to better analyze both sides of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As we have seen the external environment has positive (opportunities) and negative (threats) possibilities. A company should take advantage whenever it is possible of its opportunities coming from its current weaknesses and strengths. An opportunity is usually completely or marginally out of the range of the company s influence, meaning for instance the development of a new way of making business for the firm, like the development of the e business a few years ago. While the threats are a problem in the environment which can then get worse and become hazardous for a firm s growth, such as new competition for example. As we have seen previously the SWOT analysis can be consider as a picture of the company, which can show some movements but will not provide the next pictures, or even a lead to know which way things are moving. As an example we can use the case of IBM which was a leader in the IT industry. A SWOT analysis conduct by the Yankee Group showed that IBM was immovable from its leader position, but since that time the company has been overtaken by firms like Microsoft or Intel. This shows one of the lack of this analysis which did not lead the firm into strategic decisions when a different situation appeared (money loosing situation). And compared to its competitors IBM reacted less adequately which conducted the firm to loose market shares, because the analysis lean on unmoving factors more than on how the company ... A common interpretation was that the President was expanding the cause of the Civil War from simply reunifying the Union to also fighting for equality and abolishing slavery. They are, however, often times more stable systems. Paradoxically, the executive branch, some would argue, is not sovereign the citizen is. This is because the president, as well as legislators, have a responsibility to uphold the wants of the people. This is often debated, though. A major player falling under this system is the United States. In the U.S. presidential system, voting for both the legislative branch and the presidential seat are voted on simultaneously (rather than a legislative branch being voted in, who then vote in the president as seen in parliament elections), and only two political parties stand out amongst the rest. There is no split government, and no such thing as a vote of confidence, meaning it is much harder to remove a presidential figure (they must be impeached). He believed that legitimate political authority comes from a social contract agreed upon by all citizens for their mutual preservation. While modern day laws presumably work to ensure liberty and equality, there is a pervasive sense of unfair treatment (Conley and O Barr 2002: 5) when micro analyzing the application of these laws. Keywords: Naïve Bayes algorithm, Software Metric, Solution Architecture,. I. INTRODUCTION According to [1], multiple algorithms are combined to show better prediction capability using votes. Naïve Bayes algorithm gives the best result if used individual than others. The contribution of this paper based on two reasons. Firstly, it provides a solution architecture which is based on software repository and secondly it provides benchmarks that provide an ensemble of data mining models in the defective module prediction problem and compare the result. Author used NASA dataset online [2] which contain five large software projects with thousands of modules. Bohem found 80/20 rule and about the half modules are defect free [3].
