The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven Analysis
In the story The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie, points out the hardships of being a Native American back
in the 20th century. These hardships were racism, alcoholism, poverty and isolation. The story takes place in the reservation and it is about a
young Native American whom struggles in society because of his skin color, family s addictions and fights. The narrator moves to Seattle
with his white girlfriend who he seems to have an odd relationship because they are constantly fighting. He becomes an alcoholic and
moves back to the reservation after a break up with his girlfriend. The story begins with the narrator who enters a 7 11 store at three in the
morning to be exact. The cashier looks at him in a frightened way as if he was a criminal and becomes aware of every action that he does in
the store. Of course, this is something that still goes on today, specially at 7 11 stores and I once experienced it. The cashier acted in a racist
manner because he judges the guy due to his dark skin color and thought he was a robber. Although the narrator did understand the reason
why the cashier behaved that way as he once worked in a 7 11 store and was robbed. The narrator started fooling around with the cashier by
making him more frightened, but the cashier noticed that he wasn t a bad guy and offered him the Creamsicle for free. The narrator moves
to Seattle and lives with his white girlfriend who he is constantly fighting all the time. He breaks

Temptation Of St. Antony, By Martin Schongauer
Question One The artwork Temptation of St Antony was created in the 1470s by Martin Schongauer. There are numerous content and visual
techniques used in the artwork that are vital to making viewers understand it. The artwork shows grotesque demons are surrounding St.
Antony. The curves of the positioning of the demons portray movement, as well as, energy. However, St. Antony appears calm and is
resisting the temptations of the demons. The content of the artwork shows that St. Antony is facing a challenging situation as evidenced by
the temptations of the demons (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2015). It is easier for the viewers to understand what is happening in the
artwork due to its content. The devils in the artwork are used to showcase the challenges that St. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The visual elements of the artwork also help to pass the intended message to the viewers. St. Antony appears in his signature attributes. He
appears to be wearing a monk s habit, as well as a cowl with the staff of the pig in his hand. Additionally, his bound girdle book appears to
hang from his belt. The image is broken into areas of hatching, lines, and dots so as to allow for the interaction between black and white.
Besides, the image has different spaces between them to allow for the interaction between black and white. It is true that engraving/print
allows for multiple to be made significant. It is because it exists in two distinct states in which minor details can be added to the second. It
allows the artist to use fine, as well as, parallel cross hatching in creating his or her work. Question Two The artwork The Conversion of St.

Speech On Zora Neale Hrston
eneral purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about how influential Zora Neale Hurston was.
Thesis/Central Idea: The three specific things about Zora Neale Hurston that makes her influential/admirable include being a key figure in
the Harlem Renaissance, an anthropologist, and an American writer regarding folklore.
Introduction
I. (Attention Getter) Quote by Zora Neale Hurston about Harlem Renaissance It would be against all nature for all the Negroes to be either
at the bottom, top, or in between. We will go where the internal drive carries us like everybody else. It is up to the individual.
II. (Relevancy Statement) One of the reasons Zora Neale Hurston is an influential person was because of her works at the time of the
Harlem Renaissance. This quote combines both the reawakening of creativity and the ambitious push for others to put forth their own
creative works.
III. (Credibility Statement) In 1926, Zora and a collection of other young writers including Langston Hughes and Wallace Thurman
produced a literary magazine called Fire!! This showcased the art of the Harlem Renaissance. Their Eyes Were Watching God was written
by Zora during her field trip to Haiti and is now regarded as a classic African American feminist text. Their Eyes Were Watching God
rejects assimilating White America s cultural standards, but instead celebrated African American communities.

Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin In The Sun
The Importance of the Struggle in A Raisin in the Sun
Why do some people persist despite insurmountable obstacles, while others give up quickly or never bother to try (Gunton 118)? A Raisin
in the Sun, a play by Lorraine Hansberry, is a commentary on life and our struggle to comprehend and control it. The last scene in the play
between Asagai and Beneatha contrasts two contemporary views on why we keep on trying to change the future, and reaches the conclusion
that, far from being a means to an end, the real meaning of life is the struggle. Whether we succeed or not, our lives are purposeful only if
we have tried to make the world a better place for ourselves and others only, in other words, if we follow our dreams. ... Show more content

It was in this sort of mood that Beneatha formulated an idea about the sheer stupidity and cruelty of nature in general and people in specific:
Don t you see there isn t any real progress, there is only one large circle that we march in, around and around, each of us with our own little
picture in front of us our own little mirage that we think is the future (Hansberry. Raisin). Misery and stupidity are always present: man
does not seem capable of eliminating them once and for all. Their existence conspires to thwart dreams, and Beneatha decided that she was
tired of the struggle, tired of deluding herself with an unworkable vision, tired of having to fight against the unchangeable facts of life a
view she might have kept, as many have, if it were not for Asagai s gentle reasoning.
For Asagai, the struggle to achieve our own views of the future was the real essence of life. His was the generation of African dreamers who
passionately advocated the independence of their continent from colonial rule, for whom revolution and upheaval were generally perceived
as the only ways to improve the lot of their homelands. In his country, he lived daily with oppression, misery, and ignorance, met constantly
with apathy and indifference or even outright hostility towards his life s aspirations, and yet his determination never faltered. In his short

Research Paper On Abusive Relationships
Abusive Relationships: The Flawed Ideas of Machismo Masculinity
The term abusive relationship brings to mind a relationship of unequal power distribution. The perpetrator is usually imagined to be the
husband in heterosexual relationships and we, generally, identify the wife as the victim of such cases of abuse.
However, recent findings suggest that it is not always the husband who is the perpetrator. In many such cases, the dominant abusive figure
is the wife. Although abuse exists in both homosexual and heterosexual relationships, we will be focusing on the latter in this article.
While different forms of abuse against women are reported each year, there seems to a global, societal taboo on the issue of abuse against
men.
Patriarchal societies around the world more often turn a blind eye to the abuses men face ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In such cases, the victim may feel like he is shielding the children from the abuser. Also, the victim may not want to end the relationship so
as not to have to enter protracted custody battles or risk losing custody of his children.
Of course, we cannot deny that Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) affects more women negatively than men in the global scenario: archaic
laws and customs prevent women from seeking justice in many countries. Also, while studies have shown that women can be violent in
intimate relationships, men are more likely to injure their partners more grievously than women. Critics of men affected by IPV argue that
this is an anti feminist trend that seeks to undermine the positive strides the world has taken in acknowledging and attempting to combat
domestic violence against women.
However, it is our belief that violence can be perpetrated by anyone in any scenario. The world must change its flawed perceptions of
masculinity and urge male victims of abuse worldwide to come forward with their

The Ambiguity Of Biological Toxins
Nelsen et al. (2014) presents and discusses what the authors believe to be the inconsistencies among the definitions of poisons, venoms, and
toxins, as well as the conflation, or mixing, of these terms within the literature. The three primary classes of toxins, biological,
anthropogenic, and environmental, are defined and distinguished so that the authors can further discern the biological toxins using their own
classification scheme (Nelsen et al. 2014). Nelsen et al. (2014) presents the necessity of their three class scheme, which they proposed due
to the terminological inconsistencies within and among the literature on biological toxins. I think implementing a new term to detract from
the misconstruction of existing toxicological definitions would be constructive, especially with the proposed corresponding binomial
classification system. This review aims to discuss the breadth and functionality of the Nelsen et al. (2014) categorization of toxins.
Through their new categorical binomial nomenclature system, based on source, delivery mechanism, and storage of toxins, Nelsen et al.
(2014) introduces a novel term within the biological toxins to further reduce the ambiguity of toxicological definitions such as venom and
poison. Toxungen, or a toxic ointment as stated by Nelsen et al. (2014), is a toxic substance which is actively delivered to the surface of the
antagonizing organism and affects without the necessitation of a wound. With the introduction of the term, toxugen,

Globalisation Economic Growth and Development and development indicators.
Outline the differences between economic growth and economic development. Discuss how economic development may be measured.
Outline how globalisation may impact upon a nation s development. Where appropriate make reference to a relevant case study.
Although economic growth and development are similar in meaning, they have some essential differences. Economic growth refers to the
increasing ability of a nation to produce more goods and services. Economic development basically implies that individuals of that nation
will be better off and takes into account changes in economic and social structures that will reduce or eliminate poverty. Economic

Various indicators have been developed to compensate for the limitations of economic growth measurements. Rather than just measuring
the economic living standards in a country, development indicators measure the welfare of individuals in that country. The main
development indicator used is the Human Development Index (HDI). It was devised by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
to measure the economic achievements of a nation in combining economic growth as well as social welfare. The HDI takes into account
three major factors:
Life expectancy at birth: High levels of longevity are critical for a country s economic and social well being.
Levels of educational attainment: The HDI measures adult literacy and the ratio of people in primary, secondary and tertiary education.
Gross Domestic Product per capita: seen as being a measurement of the ability of people to access goods and services.
The HDI is essentially a score between 0 and 1. A score of 0 would mean no human development has taken place and a score of 1 is the
maximum amount of human development. In 2000, the Human Development Report places Canada as the top ranked nation with a HDI of
0.935. Australia was ranked fourth, with a HDI of 0.929 behind Norway and the United States. The lowest ranked nation was Sierra Leone
with a HDI of 0.252. When comparing the HDI of certain countries, the GNP per capita should also be considered. A nation with a much
higher ranking HDI than GNP per

On September 10th, Katie Sanders from PunditFact and former writer from Politifact Florida gave a speech at the Bob Graham Center titled
Pants on Fire: Misinformation in American Politics. The talk and subsequent Q A centered on the perpetuation of misinformation that is
experienced in contemporary American politics as well as what journalists and common people alike can do to combat it. Though these
were the focal points, three related tangents were my main takeaway from the experience. During the talk, a statement transported me to the
previous week s discussion on Burgis and Collier. Sanders opened by stating it is important to challenge every statement we read and take
nothing as true until it is verified information. It seemed not only true of American politics (though it is an essential attitude to maintain

Now the concert was in place, we picked out our music, but now we were missing our other guitar player. He told us that he was going

drums. We were in desperate need of a keyboard player to imitate the orchestra s part in the concert. Running out of options, we looked to

The Puritan Era
There is no doubt in history that the Puritan era was a fascinating, and remarkable time. The Puritans indeed shaped young America, and the
early years of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Puritans had deep pride in their community, and even greater pride in their faith,
and their beliefs. Religion was the most important aspect of their community, and they wanted it to be the center focus of the society that
they were building. Their faith was continuously practiced, and preached from the time they were a newborn, and continued upon the day
that they passed. They found that literature was the most ingenious way to teach their faith. In order for everybody to be able to master the
religion, they set up classrooms, and hired teachers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Puritans greatest value was without a doubt their religion, and their faith. They valued trying to enforce an education for the children, in
order for the practice of their religion to be sought out, and carried on for generations to come. The importance of education was shown in
the first educational law in Massachusetts which was called, The Old Deluder Act of 1647 . This law stated that, It is therefore ordered that
every township in this jurisdiction, after the Lord hath increased them to fifty households shall forthwith appoint one within their town to
teach all such children as shall resort to him to write and read, whose wages shall be paid either by the parents or masters of such children,
or by the inhabitants in general, by way of supply, as the major part of those that order the prudentials of the town shall appoint; provided
those that send their children be not oppressed by paying much more than they can have them taught for in other towns. ( The Old Deluder
Act (1647). )This law showed the magnitude of how important education was for their community. The importance of family was also a
strong value amongst the Puritans. Puritans such as, Anne Bradstreet truly showed the emphasis, and importance on family life within the
lines of her poetry. Her poetry truly gave insight on the community, and what was important for the families. One poem in particular that
shows what family meant to a mother during the Puritan era is titled, In Reference to Her Children. Bradstreet strong emotions towards her
beloved children are shown in lines such, That did what could be done for young / And nurst you up till you were strong / And fore she once
would let you fly / She shew d you joy and misery, / Taught what was good, and what was ill, / What would save life, and what would kill. /

Conformity Influence The Way People Conform
Factors that Influence People to Conform
Conformity is the act of matching attitudes, beliefs, and and. behaviors to .group. norms(Boundless, 2014). Simplifying it; Crutchfield in
1995 is quoted .saying that conformity is basically labeled as yielding to group pressures (McLeod, 2007). The majority of people conform
to their surrounding standards without even noticing it(Advameg, 2014). Conforming is not necessarily bad or good. Advameg (2014) gives
the example of how people stop at a red light even though a law enforcer may not be around. A small amount of conformity is required to
have an organized society(Boundless, 2014). However the view of conformity is .distinct .from .nation to nation. Since conventionality does

In this particular experiment, partakers were asked to choose a line that matched the size of one of three different lines (Myers DeWall,

involved in the project would deliberately choose the wrong answer. Consequently during the same question, around thirty three percent of
participants conformed to the confederate s response one time or more (Cherry, 2013). The thing that makes these results different from
informational conformity is that the correct answer was obvious. Solomon s project is an excellent case in point of normative influence.
Normative influence is Yielding to group pressure because a person wants to fit in with the group (McLeod, 2007). Solomon Asch s
experiment also gave insight of why people conform. (Myers DeWall, 2014) People conform when they feel inept, or in a group where
every person has the same opinion. If another person agrees the results are different (Myers DeWall, 2014). Solomon Asch also observed
how people displayed extreme discomfort when confronted with the decision to disagree with the group (Myers DeWall, 2014). Solomon
Asch s project showed signs of several conformity factors. First on the list is unanimity. More people conform in situations where the group
s response is undisputed (Boundless, 2014). Groups high in cohesion

Examples Of Creon A Foil In Antigone
Mask Essay
In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon is a foil to Antigone. A foil is when one character contrasts with another character. Antigone and
Creon are complete opposites (besides them both being very stubborn). Antigone is very loyal to her family, and buries Polyneices even
though she knew she would be punished. Antigone is also very independent. She stood for what she believed in on her own, while those
around her were too scared. Creon has no loyalty to his family, and refuses to honor Polyneices because he sees him as a traitor. He also
revolves around power and believes his laws comes over God s laws. Creon suffers from too much pride. Antigone and Creon come in
contrast with each other, therefore this is a foil relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

she put herself before others. Antigone is a wonderful character to look up to, for she symbolizes bravery, loyalty, and kindness. My
contrasting mask was Creon. This masks opposes Antigone´s, and is full of darker colors, scary features, and words with a negative

The Pros and Cons of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Essay
Electroconvulsive therapy, also known as ECT, is a medical procedure that is used in the treatment of mental illness. In ECT, a small
electrical impulse is sent through the brain, resulting in an ephemeral seizure. Though the process is generally effective, modern science is
unaware of the explanation behind ECT s success. Its history is filled with a large amount of stigma and the use of ECT as a therapy is still
debated today. ECT has evolved to a point where its beneficial effects can be maximized and its adverse effects can be minimized through
proper administration. The ancient Romans were the first to use electricity to treat disease several thousand years ago; however, electrical
medicine has improved and has been utilized in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When ECT hit the medical scene in the 40s and 50s, it was unsafe and gruesome (Dahl, 2008). Treatment was often performed while the
patient was awake, and their convulsions were not controlled at all they were often strong enough to break bones. ECT hit its peak in the
1960s when three tenths of a million US citizens underwent the therapy yearly (Dahl, 2008). At that point, however, it was still absolutely a
cruel procedure (Dahl, 2008). It is still yet to recover from its ghastly past, the general public still thinks of ECT as how it was portrayed in
One Flew Over the Coocoo s Nest, and more recently, Requiem for a Dream (Fitzgerald, 2011). A psychiatrist summed up the current status
of ECT very well saying, Quite frankly, the stigma pushes people away from it, and it pushes some psychiatrists away from even
recommending ECT, but most of the stigma related to ECT really is related to misconception (Dahl, 2008). ECT is done in cases where it is
necessary or when it is the best option available. It provides quick and notable alleviations of harmful symptoms of various mental
disorders. It is often used in cases of the elderly who cannot deal with the symptoms associated with anti depressants, people who would
rather undergo ECT than medication, and those who have successfully had ECT in the past. It is also

The Digital Revolution Is Responsible For The Largest...
Introduction
The digital revolution has been instrumental in reshaping entire sectors, categories and industries one of the most heavily affected is the
retail sector. In the changing digital landscape, new opportunities to innovate through the embracing of e tailing have meant that retail stores
are no longer geographically limited, but the rise of e tailing provides it s own set of unique challenges to bricks and mortar retailing. This
literature review will succinctly analyze and evaluate the effect that e tailing has had on traditional bricks and mortar retailing, by looking at
the ways in which the bricks and mortar retail stores have had to develop their retailing strategy in an increasingly digital world. Across the
extant literature three themes were consistently detected around the effects online retailing has had on traditional bricks and mortar
retailing, in the forms of the responses of physical retailers to this digital shift in the sector; fight it, use it or embrace it by fully integrating
it into an ongoing strategy. Each of these themes is discussed below.
Context
The digital revolution is responsible for the largest societal shift in history the rapid rate of consumer uptake in the use of internet as a new
technology beats the adoption of other technological developments significantly. While it took decades for the widespread societal adoption
of television and radio, the internet was adopted far quicker from 16 million users in 1995, through to over 3

Technology Learning And Teaching Language
Technology in learning and teaching language
Introduction
The innovation of communication technology has had a major impact on teaching language and how it is learnt, causing a major paradigm
shift in authorship and how language is disseminated in a community. This paper will critique the important issue on how language is
related to technology and these are the status of what is referred to as CALL (Computer assisted learning language), its cultural influence,
its effectiveness and theoretic overview. Additional to this, the paper will analyse the findings of electronic literacy, research on how the
technology in learning and teaching can have an impact on the essence of teachers, and electronic telecommunication and tele collaboration.
Computer Assisted Learning Language (CALL)
According to Kern (2006), technology intensively changes and extends the levels and the breadth of exposure that students and any other
categories of learners can get in terms of a targeted language. As a result, All approach of second language acquisition theorize on the
essence of changes in the input of technological changes in languages and the effect of learner s acquisition may have on the language
(Thomas and Reinders, 2010:47).
The article analyses two approaches of CALL, one that was formulated in 1997 and the other one in 2005.The one in 1997 holds that CALL
can be defined as the study and the search for the use of computer applications in the process of learning and the acquisition of

Foolishness In Shakespeare s Twelfth Night
In the play Twelfth Night, Shakespeare displays the common theme of foolishness throughout his play through his characters actions,
behaviors, and words; while doing this he creates a diversified spectrum of foolery that can be witnessed through dramatic irony, indirect
characterization, and dialogue that reinforces the idea behind certain jocose, satirical events within the lives of the characters in the play.
During the play, Malvolio believes a secret, romantic letter has been personally written to him by the countess Olivia addressing her
passionate desire for his love. Without his knowledge the letter has actually been written by the servant Maria to teach him a profound
lesson about the ways of selfiness and self love. This causes the others including: Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and Fabian to despise him and his

After hearing a insult by Malvolio in which he calls him a foolish knight we get Sir Andrew s immediate response, I knew twas I, for many

on Malvolio s rudeness, instead he automatically agreed with him, admitting to all the other characters that he gets called a fool on a regular
basis. This in general establishes him as a natural fool in relation to the overall theme Shakespeare s uses in his play. His intentional lack of
intelligence was done on purpose to provide the audience a idea behind the complete embodiment on what a fool really is. Unlike the other
common characters in the play, Sir Andrew lacks quick wit and common sense which shows he is a complete folly to the group. This overall
causes his character not to be taken serious at all because of the stereotypical lack of intelligence he shows when he communicates with the
other characters in the

How Does Didion Create Tension In Los Angeles Notebook
In Joan Didion s essay Los Angeles Notebook, she uses multiple rhetorical devices to shift a reader from tension, to urgency, and finally to
manifestation in order to convey that supernatural elements and their repercussions have the ability to influence an individual s actions and
emotions. Primarily, Joan Didion introduces the reader to an aura of tension in her essay using foreboding, apprehensive diction and short
syntax representing how the winds affect the people they touch, even before they literally reach them. Didion exemplifies foreboding
diction in the opening paragraph by using the words uneasy, tension, unnatural, and stillness, which paint an apprehensive picture by their
apposition. Words such as these add an

My Interest In School Psychology Is A Sheer Result Of My

These interactions not only helped me understand various behavioral problems in children, but fueled my interest in the field of child
psychology.
Although marital commitments required me to relocate to a new place, my passion for understanding child psychology continued. As a non
paid volunteer, I worked for the welfare of abused children from red light areas. I still consider those three years to be the most rewarding
ones in my potential career, owing to unique learning experiences and novel challenges faced almost on a daily basis. In retrospect, my
experience in handling the academic, emotional and social issues of these kids during the Sunshine Foundation s after school program, was
surely the first concrete step in the field of child Psychology.
My decision to pursue graduate education in child psychology is accumulation of real life experiences. These experiences gave me a feeling
of extreme helplessness and developed an urge to seek advanced knowledge in the field of child psychology. While working with abused,
abandoned children from red light areas, I came across one beautiful, reticent seven year old girl. Though she was a very shy girl, I
somehow managed to create an amazing rapport with her. One day, I received a call from the organization informing that the child had

Observation Of Daya
During this past week, I was enjoying some relaxation time from my busy and hectic schedule and watching some Netflix. I was watching
an episode of Orange Is The New Black, form Season 1. The overall summary of the episode that I was watching was that there was an
inmate, Daya, who was pregnant from one of the prison guards who also happens to be her boyfriend. In a panic of trying to protect the
boyfriend/prison guard from being fired once it is figured out that Daya is pregnant, multiple inmates work together in coming up with a
plan trying to help out Daya. The helpers include Daya s family members, people from the same race, and a couple random women from a
different clique. It was a little odd that all these inmates were working together trying to help out Daya in such an involved and difficult
situation. All of these women who are usually at each other s throats are now working together trying to come up with solutions. In addition
to this, the solution that the group decided on, was given by one the women from the outside clique, which was odd. However, we later

the best features of aluminum is that it requires very little care, especially compared to the amount of maintenance required to keep wood in
good shape. Wood decomposes over time. It can be damaged by moisture, rot, mold, and insects. To keep it looking nice, you have to scrape

The Court Of The Lawyer
This court is now in session! The bailiff s gruff voice thunders across the room, commanding a respectful silence as the honorable judge

as he faces down the prosecuting attorney, looking as confident as she was cold. As they lock eyes, the animosity is so thick a knife could

This competitive mentality introduces the startling correlation between mental health and the legal profession, and how the urge to be the
best doesn t always end when the court is adjourned. Every day, lawyers have to juggle the immense burden of pressure placed on them by
their colleagues, clients, and courtroom dramas; while this rather strenuous job does lend its way to alcoholism and other means of coping,
there are more effective ways of dealing with it, like first admitting that you have a problem and finding someone who can help you.
Alcoholism, a psychological disorder usually associated with alcohol addiction/abuse in general, is by far the most prevalent mental health
issue in several high pressure careers across the country (Alcohol Abuse and Dependence, par. 1). Many well respected doctors, politicians,
and athletes have confessed to being tempted by the appropriately titled demon in a bottle at some point in their careers. In many cases, it
can be fought back with self regulation, outside intervention, and in the worse possible scenario, withdrawal. However, alcoholism factors
much differently into the world of law, and in this case, different can be deadly. Success is held to a different standard for the lawyer. In
order to truly be successful, an attorney must have the drive to give it their all, and put their heart and soul into every case. It s not just their

The Demise Of Macbeth In Shakespeare s Play
In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, there are a series of incidents that lead to the demise of the main character, Macbeth, starting with the
murder of King Duncan due to Macbeth s determination to obtain the throne. During Acts three and four of the play, Macbeth has already
committed multiple murders and unspeakable acts in order to remain Thane of Cawdor. Having Banquo, his friend and war partner
murdered is a critical moment in the story as it conveys Macbeth s choices, made by his own free will, as well as marking his point of no
return. Initially Macbeth is a war hero, saving Scotland from the King of Norway. Macbeth is a warrior, not a killer nor does he want to rule
however he is informed by three witches called the weird sisters that he shall become Thane of Cawdor although he is not the heir to the
throne. After telling his wife, Lady Macbeth, this prophecy the two debates as to whether the prophecy could even become true considering
the current king, Duncan, is a satisfactory leader and his son is appointed as heir. Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to kill Duncan and then

Global Warming Is Caused By Emission Of Greenhouse Gases...
Global warming is caused by emission of greenhouse gases. 72% of the totally emitted greenhouse gases Is carbon dioxide. CO2 is
inevitably created by burning of fuels like e.g. Oil, diesel, petrol etc. The use of such fuels can be minimized by using alternative fuels
which do not contain carbon or contain less carbon. The alternative fuels such as ethanol produced from renewable lignocellulosic resources
or fuels produced from seawater. Research on improving ethanol production is accelerating for both economical and ecological reasons,
primarily for its use as a alternative to Petroleum based fuels. Lignocellulosic biomass is the most abundant raw material in the world.
Production of ethanol from renewable lignocellulosic Resources may improve energy availability, decrease air pollution, diminish
atmospheric CO2 accumulation. The production of fuel from seawater takes 23,000 gallon of seawater to produce to produe one gallon of
liquid hydrocarbon fuel. This process solves two problems; dependence on fossil fuels and rising of sea level. The ultraviolet rays coming

  • 3. The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven Analysis In the story The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie, points out the hardships of being a Native American back in the 20th century. These hardships were racism, alcoholism, poverty and isolation. The story takes place in the reservation and it is about a young Native American whom struggles in society because of his skin color, family s addictions and fights. The narrator moves to Seattle with his white girlfriend who he seems to have an odd relationship because they are constantly fighting. He becomes an alcoholic and moves back to the reservation after a break up with his girlfriend. The story begins with the narrator who enters a 7 11 store at three in the morning to be exact. The cashier looks at him in a frightened way as if he was a criminal and becomes aware of every action that he does in the store. Of course, this is something that still goes on today, specially at 7 11 stores and I once experienced it. The cashier acted in a racist manner because he judges the guy due to his dark skin color and thought he was a robber. Although the narrator did understand the reason why the cashier behaved that way as he once worked in a 7 11 store and was robbed. The narrator started fooling around with the cashier by making him more frightened, but the cashier noticed that he wasn t a bad guy and offered him the Creamsicle for free. Thesis/Central Idea: The three specific things about Zora Neale Hurston that makes her influential/admirable include being a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, an anthropologist, and an American writer regarding folklore. Introduction I. (Attention Getter) Quote by Zora Neale Hurston about Harlem Renaissance It would be against all nature for all the Negroes to be either at the bottom, top, or in between. We will go where the internal drive carries us like everybody else. It is up to the individual. II. (Relevancy Statement) One of the reasons Zora Neale Hurston is an influential person was because of her works at the time of the Harlem Renaissance. This quote combines both the reawakening of creativity and the ambitious push for others to put forth their own creative works. III. (Credibility Statement) In 1926, Zora and a collection of other young writers including Langston Hughes and Wallace Thurman produced a literary magazine called Fire!! This showcased the art of the Harlem Renaissance. Their Eyes Were Watching God was written by Zora during her field trip to Haiti and is now regarded as a classic African American feminist text. • 6. Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin In The Sun The Importance of the Struggle in A Raisin in the Sun Why do some people persist despite insurmountable obstacles, while others give up quickly or never bother to try (Gunton 118)? A Raisin in the Sun, a play by Lorraine Hansberry, is a commentary on life and our struggle to comprehend and control it. The last scene in the play between Asagai and Beneatha contrasts two contemporary views on why we keep on trying to change the future, and reaches the conclusion that, far from being a means to an end, the real meaning of life is the struggle. Whether we succeed or not, our lives are purposeful only if we have tried to make the world a better place for ourselves and others only, in other words, if we follow our dreams. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was in this sort of mood that Beneatha formulated an idea about the sheer stupidity and cruelty of nature in general and people in specific: Don t you see there isn t any real progress, there is only one large circle that we march in, around and around, each of us with our own little picture in front of us our own little mirage that we think is the future (Hansberry. Raisin). Misery and stupidity are always present: man does not seem capable of eliminating them once and for all. Their existence conspires to thwart dreams, and Beneatha decided that she was tired of the struggle, tired of deluding herself with an unworkable vision, tired of having to fight against the unchangeable facts of life a view she might have kept, as many have, if it were not for Asagai s gentle reasoning. For Asagai, the struggle to achieve our own views of the future was the real essence of life. His was the generation of African dreamers who passionately advocated the independence of their continent from colonial rule, for whom revolution and upheaval were generally perceived as the only ways to improve the lot of their homelands. In his country, he lived daily with oppression, misery, and ignorance, met constantly with apathy and indifference or even outright hostility towards his life s aspirations, and yet his determination never faltered. • 7. Research Paper On Abusive Relationships Abusive Relationships: The Flawed Ideas of Machismo Masculinity The term abusive relationship brings to mind a relationship of unequal power distribution. The perpetrator is usually imagined to be the husband in heterosexual relationships and we, generally, identify the wife as the victim of such cases of abuse. However, recent findings suggest that it is not always the husband who is the perpetrator. In many such cases, the dominant abusive figure is the wife. Although abuse exists in both homosexual and heterosexual relationships, we will be focusing on the latter in this article. While different forms of abuse against women are reported each year, there seems to a global, societal taboo on the issue of abuse against men. Patriarchal societies around the world more often turn a blind eye to the abuses men face ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In such cases, the victim may feel like he is shielding the children from the abuser. Also, the victim may not want to end the relationship so as not to have to enter protracted custody battles or risk losing custody of his children. Of course, we cannot deny that Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) affects more women negatively than men in the global scenario: archaic laws and customs prevent women from seeking justice in many countries. Also, while studies have shown that women can be violent in intimate relationships, men are more likely to injure their partners more grievously than women. Critics of men affected by IPV argue that this is an anti feminist trend that seeks to undermine the positive strides the world has taken in acknowledging and attempting to combat domestic violence against women. However, it is our belief that violence can be perpetrated by anyone in any scenario. The world must change its flawed perceptions of masculinity and urge male victims of abuse worldwide to come forward with their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Ambiguity Of Biological Toxins Nelsen et al. (2014) presents and discusses what the authors believe to be the inconsistencies among the definitions of poisons, venoms, and toxins, as well as the conflation, or mixing, of these terms within the literature. The three primary classes of toxins, biological, anthropogenic, and environmental, are defined and distinguished so that the authors can further discern the biological toxins using their own classification scheme (Nelsen et al. 2014). Nelsen et al. (2014) presents the necessity of their three class scheme, which they proposed due to the terminological inconsistencies within and among the literature on biological toxins. I think implementing a new term to detract from the misconstruction of existing toxicological definitions would be constructive, especially with the proposed corresponding binomial classification system. This review aims to discuss the breadth and functionality of the Nelsen et al. (2014) categorization of toxins. Through their new categorical binomial nomenclature system, based on source, delivery mechanism, and storage of toxins, Nelsen et al. (2014) introduces a novel term within the biological toxins to further reduce the ambiguity of toxicological definitions such as venom and poison. Toxungen, or a toxic ointment as stated by Nelsen et al. (2014), is a toxic substance which is actively delivered to the surface of the antagonizing organism and affects without the necessitation of a wound. With the introduction of the term, toxugen, ... Economic development basically implies that individuals of that nation will be better off and takes into account changes in economic and social structures that will reduce or eliminate poverty. Rather than just measuring the economic living standards in a country, development indicators measure the welfare of individuals in that country. The main development indicator used is the Human Development Index (HDI). It was devised by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to measure the economic achievements of a nation in combining economic growth as well as social welfare. The HDI takes into account three major factors: Life expectancy at birth: High levels of longevity are critical for a country s economic and social well being. Levels of educational attainment: The HDI measures adult literacy and the ratio of people in primary, secondary and tertiary education. Gross Domestic Product per capita: seen as being a measurement of the ability of people to access goods and services. The HDI is essentially a score between 0 and 1. A score of 0 would mean no human development has taken place and a score of 1 is the maximum amount of human development. In 2000, the Human Development Report places Canada as the top ranked nation with a HDI of 0.935. Australia was ranked fourth, with a HDI of 0.929 behind Norway and the United States. The lowest ranked nation was Sierra Leone with a HDI of 0.252. When comparing the HDI of certain countries, the GNP per capita should also be considered. Pants On Fire Analysis On September 10th, Katie Sanders from PunditFact and former writer from Politifact Florida gave a speech at the Bob Graham Center titled Pants on Fire: Misinformation in American Politics. The talk and subsequent Q A centered on the perpetuation of misinformation that is experienced in contemporary American politics as well as what journalists and common people alike can do to combat it. Though these were the focal points, three related tangents were my main takeaway from the experience. During the talk, a statement transported me to the previous week s discussion on Burgis and Collier. Sanders opened by stating it is important to challenge every statement we read and take nothing as true until it is verified information. The Puritans indeed shaped young America, and the early years of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Religion was the most important aspect of their community, and they wanted it to be the center focus of the society that they were building. This law stated that, It is therefore ordered that every township in this jurisdiction, after the Lord hath increased them to fifty households shall forthwith appoint one within their town to teach all such children as shall resort to him to write and read, whose wages shall be paid either by the parents or masters of such children, or by the inhabitants in general, by way of supply, as the major part of those that order the prudentials of the town shall appoint; provided those that send their children be not oppressed by paying much more than they can have them taught for in other towns. Puritans such as, Anne Bradstreet truly showed the emphasis, and importance on family life within the lines of her poetry. Her poetry truly gave insight on the community, and what was important for the families. One poem in particular that shows what family meant to a mother during the Puritan era is titled, In Reference to Her Children. Foolishness In Shakespeare s Twelfth Night In the play Twelfth Night, Shakespeare displays the common theme of foolishness throughout his play through his characters actions, behaviors, and words; while doing this he creates a diversified spectrum of foolery that can be witnessed through dramatic irony, indirect characterization, and dialogue that reinforces the idea behind certain jocose, satirical events within the lives of the characters in the play. During the play, Malvolio believes a secret, romantic letter has been personally written to him by the countess Olivia addressing her passionate desire for his love. Without his knowledge the letter has actually been written by the servant Maria to teach him a profound lesson about the ways of selfiness and self love. This causes the others including: Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and Fabian to despise him and his churlish disposition. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After hearing a insult by Malvolio in which he calls him a foolish knight we get Sir Andrew s immediate response, I knew twas I, for many do call me fool (II.v.81). Based on Sir Andrew s dialogue we can assume that he really isn t trying to hide his stupidity. He did not pick up on Malvolio s rudeness, instead he automatically agreed with him, admitting to all the other characters that he gets called a fool on a regular basis. This in general establishes him as a natural fool in relation to the overall theme Shakespeare s uses in his play. His intentional lack of intelligence was done on purpose to provide the audience a idea behind the complete embodiment on what a fool really is. Unlike the other common characters in the play, Sir Andrew lacks quick wit and common sense which shows he is a complete folly to the group. This overall causes his character not to be taken serious at all because of the stereotypical lack of intelligence he shows when he communicates with the other characters in the ... How Does Didion Create Tension In Los Angeles Notebook In Joan Didion s essay Los Angeles Notebook, she uses multiple rhetorical devices to shift a reader from tension, to urgency, and finally to manifestation in order to convey that supernatural elements and their repercussions have the ability to influence an individual s actions and emotions. Primarily, Joan Didion introduces the reader to an aura of tension in her essay using foreboding, apprehensive diction and short syntax representing how the winds affect the people they touch, even before they literally reach them. Didion exemplifies foreboding diction in the opening paragraph by using the words uneasy, tension, unnatural, and stillness, which paint an apprehensive picture by their apposition. My Interest In School Psychology Is A Sheer Result Of My My interest in School Psychology is a sheer result of my experiences at various workplaces and certain decisions I have opted for in my life. These experiences have prepared me to pursue advanced studies in the field, while strengthening my passion and in providing me with the background required to succeed in this important area. In order to achieve my full potential in the field, I look forward to entering MEd/EdS program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I immensely enjoy working in the School Psychology field because it provides me the most comforting inner solace. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These interactions not only helped me understand various behavioral problems in children, but fueled my interest in the field of child psychology. Although marital commitments required me to relocate to a new place, my passion for understanding child psychology continued. As a non paid volunteer, I worked for the welfare of abused children from red light areas. I still consider those three years to be the most rewarding ones in my potential career, owing to unique learning experiences and novel challenges faced almost on a daily basis. In retrospect, my experience in handling the academic, emotional and social issues of these kids during the Sunshine Foundation s after school program, was surely the first concrete step in the field of child Psychology. My decision to pursue graduate education in child psychology is accumulation of real life experiences. These experiences gave me a feeling of extreme helplessness and developed an urge to seek advanced knowledge in the field of child psychology. While working with abused, abandoned children from red light areas, I came across one beautiful, reticent seven year old girl. Though she was a very shy girl, I somehow managed to create an amazing rapport with her. One day, I received a call from the organization informing that the child had vaginal bleeding and was not ready to disclose anything to anyone. Since I had a rapport with her, I was called for help. I could manage to get her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Observation Of Daya During this past week, I was enjoying some relaxation time from my busy and hectic schedule and watching some Netflix. I was watching an episode of Orange Is The New Black, form Season 1. The overall summary of the episode that I was watching was that there was an inmate, Daya, who was pregnant from one of the prison guards who also happens to be her boyfriend. In a panic of trying to protect the boyfriend/prison guard from being fired once it is figured out that Daya is pregnant, multiple inmates work together in coming up with a plan trying to help out Daya. The helpers include Daya s family members, people from the same race, and a couple random women from a different clique. It was a little odd that all these inmates were working together trying to help out Daya in such an involved and difficult situation. All of these women who are usually at each other s throats are now working together trying to come up with solutions. In addition to this, the solution that the group decided on, was given by one the women from the outside clique, which was odd. However, we later learn that the reason why she ... This shows that the Genetic Relatives Study is very much true, showing that even in a high risk situation, Daya s mother and sister were still willing to help. The women that were from the same race, shows that we tend to help people that look like us. • 34. The Court Of The Lawyer This court is now in session! The bailiff s gruff voice thunders across the room, commanding a respectful silence as the honorable judge takes his seat. The back pews scrape against the floor noisily as people hurry to claim their seats. The novice lawyer glares back nervously at the gallery before exchanging a hopeful look with his client, who is just as skittish. A cold sweat began pouring down the lawyer s neck as he faces down the prosecuting attorney, looking as confident as she was cold. As they lock eyes, the animosity is so thick a knife could cut through it. Eventually the trial begins, and both sides throw verbal cannonballs. As the court proceedings continue, the lawyer is inevitably asked to take the stand and make the final ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This competitive mentality introduces the startling correlation between mental health and the legal profession, and how the urge to be the best doesn t always end when the court is adjourned. Every day, lawyers have to juggle the immense burden of pressure placed on them by their colleagues, clients, and courtroom dramas; while this rather strenuous job does lend its way to alcoholism and other means of coping, there are more effective ways of dealing with it, like first admitting that you have a problem and finding someone who can help you. Alcoholism, a psychological disorder usually associated with alcohol addiction/abuse in general, is by far the most prevalent mental health issue in several high pressure careers across the country (Alcohol Abuse and Dependence, par. 1). Many well respected doctors, politicians, and athletes have confessed to being tempted by the appropriately titled demon in a bottle at some point in their careers. In many cases, it can be fought back with self regulation, outside intervention, and in the worse possible scenario, withdrawal. However, alcoholism factors much differently into the world of law, and in this case, different can be deadly. Success is held to a different standard for the lawyer. In order to truly be successful, an attorney must have the drive to give it their all, and put their heart and soul into every case. It s not just their salary that is ... The Demise Of Macbeth In Shakespeare s Play In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, there are a series of incidents that lead to the demise of the main character, Macbeth, starting with the murder of King Duncan due to Macbeth s determination to obtain the throne. During Acts three and four of the play, Macbeth has already committed multiple murders and unspeakable acts in order to remain Thane of Cawdor. Having Banquo, his friend and war partner murdered is a critical moment in the story as it conveys Macbeth s choices, made by his own free will, as well as marking his point of no return. CO2 is inevitably created by burning of fuels like e.g. Oil, diesel, petrol etc. The use of such fuels can be minimized by using alternative fuels which do not contain carbon or contain less carbon. The alternative fuels such as ethanol produced from renewable lignocellulosic resources or fuels produced from seawater. Research on improving ethanol production is accelerating for both economical and ecological reasons, primarily for its use as a alternative to Petroleum based fuels. Lignocellulosic biomass is the most abundant raw material in the world. Production of ethanol from renewable lignocellulosic Resources may improve energy availability, decrease air pollution, diminish atmospheric CO2 accumulation. The production of fuel from seawater takes 23,000 gallon of seawater to produce to produe one gallon of liquid hydrocarbon fuel. This process solves two problems; dependence on fossil fuels and rising of sea level. The ultraviolet rays coming from sun also contribute to global warming by destroying the protective ozone layer.
