The World War II And The Nazi Party Of Germany Essay
Further Than Loyalty Are you loyal to your own land and country, to a point that
you will indifferently oppose other land s and nations beliefs, way of life, traditions,
and so on. According to Webster (2014), nationalism means showing complete
support and faithfulness towards a nation, even though showing nationalism intend to
go against other nations. Miscevic (2001) describes the word nationalism in two
marvelous ideas. First, it is the way the elements of a country are thoughtful and
mindful as for their country s identity. Second, it is the act of the elements of a
country that is made while finding to succeed reaching and continuing their own
choice. Nationalism can be illustrated in different perspectives. One of the very
important causes of the First and Second World War and other kinds of wars was
nationalism itself (Webster, 2014). During the World War Two, Nationalism was the
evident action of the Nazi Party of Germany. Koenigsberg (n.d.) states in an online
article, an individual s options and reactions to other nations may be less favorable,
when he has a strong passion on his own nation. Nazis describes nationalism as the
ultimate identity of oneself to defend upon other nations hands. Trying to be strong or
significant, being of a country show in a single possibility that they are strong is
merit of its position to protect itself upon other countries. Affected by the fact that
countries have foes, nationalism tends to do crafty things to the country.
Jeffrey Dahmer Quotes
I made my fantasy life more powerful than my real one ( Jeffrey Dahmer AZ

on May 21st 1960. His parents were Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He was born in
West Allis, WI but grew up in Akron Ohio. Dahmer had a little brother who was
born when Dahmer was 7 years old. Dahmer parents went through a brutal divorce
which was very hard on Jeffrey. Jeffrey Dahmerwas one of the most deranged serial
killers that ever lived due to his intense murders, repulsive cannibalism, and foul
necrophilia. Jeffrey Dahmer went through a notorious killing spree murdering 17
young men. Jeffrey Dahmer was 18 years old when he committed his first murder.

Jeffrey took nude photos of young men he would get off on these nude photos.
The photos could either be of the corpses or of the dying victims Dahmer captured.
Dahmer went after minors specifically men who were African Americans. Jeffrey
would find his victims at a bar or any low profile place where people would not
notice the victim missing. After finding a victim he would drug his victims and
take them back to his apartment. In his apartment he would kill the victim
photograph the body and then rape the corpse. The men Dahmer drugged would
sometimes go outside and walk around with handcuffs. Cops would fine them
confused and in a daze from getting heavily drugged. Some of Dahmer s neighbors
have reported several young african americans wondering the streets and going to
Jeffrey s house. Some of his neighbors also complained of the offensive smell from
his apartment. Dahmer told them his refrigerator was out of order, and he would

Psychodynamic Approach To Counselling
Counselling theories provide a framework for counsellors to interpret a
client’s behaviour, thoughts, and feelings and help them navigate a
client’s journey from diagnosis to post treatment .The theories refer to the
principles and theory of how different forms of counselling should work, it deals
with the assumptions and hypotheses about the process of human development , the
problems and difficulties that can arise at various stages in our life time as a result
of environmental influences and others . There are many counselling theories and all

My Value In Life
Song Essay
Were you in jail 3 months ago? What do you value in life? The things you value in
life can determine what kind of person you are. If you value something for a long
time; then you lose interest it s like you have a new start to life. The lyrics in a song
express your values and how you go about life. The type of music you listen is an
important value in life. My favorite song is called There He Go by Kodak Black,
talks about being rich, people surrounding him with guns, and being at the top. I
agree with these values and morals because I think they are important in my
everyday life. My values are happiness, wealth, and love. I feel that this song goes
with all my moral values. People can relate to this song and it can educate people for
the better.
A song I used to listen to was There He Go by Kodak Black. This song tells me
about a man who just got out of jail and thinks he is the shit. The main values in
this song are, popularity, power, success, wealth and loyalty. Kodak Black writes
There He Go and tells a story of his life after getting out of jail and how he wants
people to view him/or how he thinks people view him. This song does not support
the values of humor, spirituality or stability. This song supports the values of
confidence and happiness about yourself in life. A verse in Kodak s song is I got
space jams on my feet, I m on the moon. This line means he thinks he is cool and
living a dream because he has nice expensive shoes on his feet. I understand why
he is writing this because he can have more confidence or have a good time when
you are wearing nice clothes/shoes on. Also it is better than him saying I got beat
shoes, I feel like i m in the toilet. Also when you re more confident in yourself you
tend to live a better, and happy life then when you re not. A verse that I could relate
to was when he said Ayy, everybody runnin ; nigga gotta gun. Kodak is basically
saying if you see someone with a gun, you re going to run away and other people
would too. I agree with him because I am not going to get shot by just watching
someone killing you, i m running for my life. It would be better to die trying to live
then not. Then a line that caught my eye was when he wrote I don t
Herman Melville s Bartleby, The Scrivener
Herman Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivener
Born in New York City on August 1st, 1819, Herman Melville led a life that
commenced in partial fame and success, but ended in poverty and despair. Although
unjustly criticized for the purposeless extravagance and disorderliness of his writing,
due to his digressions into many different topics while discussing a single one,
especially in his most celebrated novel today, though most criticized and
unappreciated in his time, Moby Dick, Herman Melville is considered one of the most
important figures in American Literature today. Herman Melville is the most
Shakespearean of our authors, according to Herald Bloom, an American literary
critic. Other literary critics deem his works the most crucial achievements in
American literature, and literary creations of a high order blending fact, fiction,
adventure and subtle symbolism. Melville communicated his genius not only through
his impeccable use of language and engrossing creation of plot, but also and mainly
through his development of more than merely unique or odd characters characters he
called original. Noting Melville s view of himself as an author, more than that of
himself as a person, is significant to the understanding of his notion of the original
character, and to the understanding of his literary original characters. It is especially
essential to the understanding of one of his most intriguing fictional characters:
Bartleby. In his short story Bartleby, the
Security At The Umpqua Community College

With the recent shooting at the Umpqua Community College in Oregon, security on
college campuses has become a major topic. Some campuses have increased their
security while others have kept theirs the same. One of these campuses that has kept
its security at the status quo is Ohio State University. This amount of security is what
Wright State lacks. It is understandable that the size of the campus of Wright State is
nowhere near that of Ohio State and that Wright State is near the Wright Patterson
Air Force Base, but having only a couple campus police cruisers roaming around
campus is not enough to prevent a shooting so there needs to be a greater police
presence on campus.
Over the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The proposition that I have in mind for this is that Wright State needs to have at
least fifteen officers on duty during campus hours. I know that this will not be
perfect in preventing a shooting or an attack on campus so I am also proposing
that there needs to be a rapid response unit that specializes in active shooter
scenarios that is able to get to campus within twenty minutes as well as a keycard
system that only allows people into certain buildings with authorized cards, in this
case student IDs and visitor passes. First, a greater police presence will serve as a
deterrent for people to avoid attacking the campus. Second, having a keycard system
that works only with student IDs and visitor passes can act as a deterrent just by
making it more difficult for a person to get into a building. Lastly, having a rapid
response team will reduce the time that a gunman has to perform their criminal act
thus reducing the number of lives lost.
Having a greater police presence in an area alone reduces the likelihood of a
shooting to occur on campus. But they cannot just be patrolling the campus in their
cruisers, there have to be some that roam around the campus on foot. With recent
events that are stereotyping police officers as racists, it is understandable that this
might not be one of the best decisions to make. Keep in mind though that a police

Nanotechnology And The Energy Crisis
Nanotechnology and the Energy Crisis A major problem facing the world today is
the energy crisis. The amount of energy being consumed is much greater than the
fossil fuels of the Earth will be able to keep up with in the long run. As energy use
continues to grow, the demand for energy will exceed its supply. This is obviously
a huge problem, and why this is being referred to as a crisis. However,
nanotechnology can potentially solve this problem due to its ability to help make
every aspect of producing or consuming energy significantly more efficient. Yet,
the use of nanotechnology in solving the energy crisis would not come without
large impacts: some positive, but some negative. The Energy Crisis To understand
how nanotechnology can solve the energy crisis, the energy crisis itself must fully
be understood. While many throw out years when the world will run out of
energy, these figures assume that no change will occur in the current consumption
of energy. Since the world is constantly changing, so will the energy industry. There
are so many factors that go into why one day the world will not run out of energy.
The biggest reason is economics. As supply of fossil fuels decreases, the price will
rise, and demand for renewable resources will increase. Another reason is that
scientists, especially as it becomes more economically efficient, will look to find
other sources of energy (Bradley, 2004). Yet, there is still a problem. No matter how
many fossil fuels people

physician in Oakland County, Michigan. He came to the aid of those who suffered
from medical conditions by assisting them in ending their lives. One case of his in

recently found out she had Alzheimer s. She had previously heard of Kevorkian s

starting with a saline solution, followed by a painkiller, then finally a lethal dose of
poisonous potassium chloride. She wanted him to use the suicide machine on her.

Garrison Keillor s The Prodigal Son vs. Luke s The Parable of the Prodigal Son
The classic story of the Prodigal Son is one of the best known parables in literature.
A parable is often times described as a short narrative which teaches a moral;
however, the plot is more realistic, than say a fable, and the characters are humans as
oppose to animals or natural forces within nature. Parables are also presented in a
more suggestive tone, which leaves them more open to interpretation. The play
Prodigal Son told by Garrison Keillor differs greatly in terms of style compared to
Lukes The Parable of the Prodigal Son told in the Catholic scriptures. Both of these
parables convey the same moral, however, both are open to very different ... Show

This style merely added to the parable itself. One could argue that since the
personalities in Keillors version were more developed, it left less room for ones
own interpretation. Because the personalities of the characters were more distinct,
it also alllwed for more focus on the actual plot and the building moral. Since the
moral is the true point to a parable, it would be pointless for an audience or reader
to be stuck on the their curiosity of the type of people the characters were
supposed to represent. More detail, merely aids in the strength of a parables
narrative qualities. A major difference that I noted when reading and comparing
the two parables was the usage of language. That writing style of the parables truly
affected my interpretation of the moral. Keillor took a much more modern
approach to the language that the characters conversed with. He also utilized more
symbolism in the language in order to pursue more of a comedy type piece. An
example of such is when Wally returnas home and his father is ecstatic about his
return, and begins to give him gifts and attention. The father then decides amongst
all his excitement that he wants to give Wally a ring, which he had already given to
the older son Dwight. Dwight responds with, cant give it to the son who has worked
his tail off for thirty years, oh no, gotta give it to the weasel who comes dragging his
butt through the door (Kennedy 1366). This language varies greatly from the
Persuasive Essay On Procrastination
A vast majority of High School seniors as well as college freshmen, struggle with
managing their time and reducing procrastination. High school seniors and college
freshmen, unfortunately, have urgencies to do assignments really late and end up
turning in a lethargic assignment. Many students incriminate procrastination.
However, they only have themselves to blame for lack of time management. Students
get absorbed in technology and spending time with friends they forget they even had
an assignment due the very next day at the beginning of class. High schoolseniors and
college freshmen need to learn how the importance of managing their time wisely
and reducing procrastination can help them succeed in their educational careers.
High school seniors and college freshmen need to interpret their large assignment
into smaller assignments to better and thoroughly understand what they are doing.
When breaking larger assignments into smaller assignments it doesn t seem like
there is a big task and it decreases anxiety to successfully finish the project. In an
article named Just, To Do It: Tips for avoiding procrastination, Pitts and Benett
state that, Making a list of the separate steps involved in the writing process (e.g.,
researching, generating a thesis statement, outlining, writing a first draft) and
think of each step as an individual task. Just breaking up the idea of a paper in your
mind can calm you down and help you feel more equipped to handle the task
ahead. (Pitts Bennett 2) Being comfortable while doing big assignments help
complete the task and relaxes your mind so that it will not feel rushed or like there
is not enough time to finish and do well. High school seniors and college freshman
need to learn how the importance of finding a place to study and focus can reduce
the habits of procrastination. As well as limit all distractions from interfering with
their work. Many people find cafes such as Starbucks to go there and do work. It is
the location of not knowing anyone in the environment, and the background sounds
that do not affect studying. In fact, it helps keep concentration in the work being

##torical Analysis Of Mcteague s Dental Parlors
The author allows the narrator s tone with a variety of descriptions and syntax,
which allow the true oddity that is McTeague to be comprehended, with
acknowledgement with his background, to his strange tendencies, to his
unobtainable goals, to his characteristics to grasp his primitive. The implications
provided by the narrator s analysis gives the idea that McTeague doesn t have the
capacity to obtain success yet mentions the immense ambition and determination
to strive for success with the narrator stating, It was his ambition, his dream,...He
would have it some day, on that he was resolved;but as such a thing was far beyond
his means. McTeague admires how successful his career is, yet the narrator
implies how his goals are unreachable at this point and there will be a long duration
before it s in his grasp this seems to indicate that he undermines McTeague ability to
succeed. When he opened his Dental Parlors, he felt that his life was a success,... In
spite of the name, there was one but one room. The narrator has the purposely
neglected the notion of having a building to practice yet comments on that of the
size of the establishment. The countless recognition of the grim aspects of his
accomplishments allows for the discouraging of McTeague and viewing him as a
lowly. McTeague originated with the lower class and had made a name for himself
by owning his dentistryand becoming a dentist. The narrator never fails to mention
this numerous times in the passageas part of his identity, as he s characterized as a
young giant, carrying his huge shock of blond hair six feet three inches from the
ground. His description of his hair instead of being mentioned atop of his head but
from the ground up shows that he came from something of a lowly manner and is
now a accomplished businessman. His business a dentistry was successful. The
narrator seems to oversee the prizes he owns that show the intellectual means of
McTeague, which can be seen describing his room, The other ornaments were a small
marble topped centre covered with back numbers of the The American System of

Phantom Of The Opera Compare And Contrast
Phantom of the Opera is a musical focusing on the career of Christine Dubios (also
known as Christine Daae). IMDB summarizes the plot with, Pit violinist Claudin
hopelessly loves rising operatic soprano Christine Dubois (as do baritone Anatole
and police inspector Raoul) and secretly aids her career (Phantom of the Opera
(1943)). But Claudin loses both his touch and his job, murders a rascally music
publisher in a fit of madness, and has his face etched with acid. Soon, mysterious
crimes plague the Paris Opera House, blamed on a legendary phantom whom none
can find in the mazes and catacombs. But both of Christine s lovers have plans to
ferret him out (Phantom of the Opera (1943))

Eddy has finally found his role. He is no phantom in this one; he is very much in
solid evidence, and his lungs are working as strongly and as loudly as they have
ever worked before. Indeed, you might almost think the picture was made just so
he might sing. And that is the principal reason why this remake of the old Lon
Chaney film is bereft of much of the terror and macabre quality of the original. The
feeling of this version was that the Phantom was an afterthought. The beginning of
the film is a musical that serves to set up the Phantom, or Erique Claudin,
storyline. You see the conductor having issues directing a violinist. The violinist
end up being fired and the rest of the story unfolds. The differences between this
version and the version of 1925 are numerous. 1943 the Phantom is created when
disfigured by a chemical burn and must hide after committing murder, whereas in
1925 the masked man has lived under the opera house for years and was born
disfigured. The 1943 version also felt like they were trying too hard to convey the
love interest and to have Christine at the center of a very off foursome not only was
she the love interest of Anatole Garron and Raoul Daubert, she was also the love
interest of the Phantom.

To start, we must understand that the approach to the brand is different for non

The Treaty Of Versailles And Its Effect On The World War I
The Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty signed between Germany and the Allies which
consisted of Britain, France and America. The idea of the Treaty was to end World
War one and Germany would be too weak to start another war. This meant that there
would be peace throughout Europe for a long time but it was controversial at best.
It was signed in the Versailles palace which was large enough for hundreds of people
to be involved in the signing on 28th of June 1919. Germany had almost no say in
what was put into the treaty but they had no choice but to sign it otherwise they
would be invaded by the Allies. Its 15 parts and 440 articles reassigned German
boundaries and assigned liability for reparations ... Show more content on

Along with the reduction of men, Germany was not allowed tanks, submarines or
military aircraft and the navy could only have six battleships (Mr Hinds History;
what were the main Terms of the Versailles Treaty 2016). This was created so that
Germany would not have the force to declare war but still had the power to stop
communism from getting into Western Europe. Another aspect to the Treaty of
Versailleswere the economic terms. These terms stated that Germany had to pay 6.6
billion dollars back to the allies. Germany was not able to pay this amount of money
so they had to borrow money from nearby countries. This meant that Germany fell
into huge amounts of debt and lost their title for second most economically advanced
country in the world.
There were two more important Terms for The Treaty of Versailles, they were the
General terms and the territorial terms. There were three important general clauses
to the treaty. The first was that Germany had to take all responsibility for the war,
this was called the War Guilt Clause and it was the term that Germany was the most
upset about. The second was that Germany had to pay for all war damages which
was mostly to France and Belgium. The third was that a League of Nations was set up
to keep world peace and Germany was not allowed to join. There were also the
territorial terms of the treaty where Germany had to give up
Underage Drinking
Underage drinking is becoming more of a noticeable problem in society, not only
with high school students, but also with younger generations. Drinking is all over the
television, the radio, and talked about in schools, public places, etc. Alcohol
advertisements are more and more appealing to younger generations. If our youth is
educated at a younger age, if schoolpolicies were stricter, and if clubs and bars
cracked down on underage drinking the problem would not be as serious. Youth
should be well educated about consumption of alcohol well before middle school. By
the time students reach middle school they are already exposed to alcohol. D.A.R.E,

15. This just shows that bartenders are not carding. Their reasons may differ, but it
seems as though females are easily passed off as legal drinking age regardless of
what their I.D. says. From my three years of personal experience in the club
industry I realized many young females received drinks from the bartenders
despite their age. Walking into clubs females usually don t even get carded as long
as they are good looking they get the wristband. Clubs and bars should have
females at the front greeting because that would eliminate underage drinking. Also,
I.D scanners would help because there would no way of getting in with a fake I.D.
If clubs and bars were stricter and had better tools to prevent underage drinking this
problem would decrease rapidly. In conclusion, underage drinking affects should be
taught at a younger age before the kids are exposed. Not only should they be
educated earlier but the schools policies should be stricter as well as college policies.
If schools became stricter along with clubs and bars the future of our youth would
improve. These steps must be taken or our younger generations will start to spiral

Assistive Technology History
This week we read about the history of assistive technology and assistive
technology. In addition, we read about the reauthorization of IDEA 1997 and how it
changed the individual educational plan (IEP) by requiring that IEP teams consider
assistive technology for all students with IEPs. (Grand Canyon University, n.d.

It became clear to me this week through the readings, that many accommodations

other hand Canadians prefer business letters with a more formal tone which
establishes more power distance. A Canadian focus is only on the products and

Business letters in America use economics, nationalistic and patriotic sensibilities to

In the U.S. presidential campaign, Bill Clinton put the date and hand written sign to

humans, no matter their race, background, or hometown, have a tendency to stretch

His personal experiences bring out truths about the lives of hillbillies. As Vance
writes his book he provides an honest testimony of his life. He writes about difficult
parts of his life that were no doubt hard to relive let alone write. Vance is an honest
analysis of his own life and the lives of hillbillies because he retells painful truths
from his past. He is honest because he writes scenes that not only paint his closest
loved ones as less than appealing at times, but he also paints himself that way. He
includes scenes about his much loved, respected, and revered for grandparents that
shows that they weren t perfect. I d like to tell you my grandparents thrived in their
new environment, how they raised a successful family, and how they retired
comfortably middle class. But that is a partial truth. The full truth is that my
grandparents struggled in their new life, and they continued to do so for decades.
(30) This is not the first or last time that Vance gives an honest assessment of himself
and those around him, telling the painful truths about their shortcomings. He tells
scenes that most people wouldn t want to remember or have other people associate
with their family. He talks about the parts that he admires like the hillbillies fierce
loyalty, and he talks about the things that he wishes he could change, like their
learned helplessness. It is J.D. Vance s honesty about the good and bad parts of his

I Chose For The School Of A Multi Cultural Society Class...
The reflection film I chose for the school in a multi cultural society class is Higher
Learning. In the film, which setting takes place at a university deals with multiple
issues of academics, racism and women s rights. As the film discusses the views of
three different students as they try to find ways of dealing with their freedom of
college life, they learn quickly in the beginning college life is not what it assumes
be. As the movie learns about all three individuals it is concluded that each one is
met with a traumatic experience that will affect their lives forever. While watching
the movie, it was interesting to see the impact each individual face even when they
do not believe it could ever happen to them. For instance, in the movie, Kristen the
sole female that is being followed, enjoying her life as a college students with
drinking and partying, but the lifestyle in which she is celebrating tragically ends
with her being raped. She comes to terms with the ordeal, but is unable to deal
with the outcome of her friends not supporting her of being raped. She soon beings
to date people of the same sex as she tries to regain herself. As Kristen is trying to
be accepted by society with morals she believes is right, she is also unable to
accept her true feelings in what she knows is right to her which is being in love with
a woman. The other student is Malik, whom is an athlete in track and struggle with
academics. He finds his place in the university by becoming
The Resurrection Of Jesus Research Paper
Many people ridicule Christians for believing in a man who resurrected from the
dead. They laugh at Christians and criticize them for basing their faith on an event
that lack proof and evidence. However, the evidence that skeptics use to challenge the
Christian faith, in actuality, support the claims that Jesustruly was the God that he
claimed to be. The evidence that affirms Jesus claims to be true include his lifestyle
and teachings, the prophecies that he fulfilled, historical facts, and the dramatic
transformation of the lives of his disciples. Many may ask Christians how they can
believe in a Savior without proof of his divinity; but, in reality, God has given us an
abundance of signs. He is still providing us with compelling evidence... Show more

Jesus is alive, for he continued to work in the lives of his disciples. The change of
the lives of his followers demonstrate the work of Christ in them. Our historical
knowledge relies on testimonies. The testimonies of the disciples are valid because
eleven of them dies for their belief in the claims that Jesus made (McDowell 89 90).
The power of Jesus is shown through them. Initially, they were cowards in their faith.
Peter denied Jesus three time, and Thomas doubted Jesus resurrection. The disciples
weak faith in Jesus and doubt in his resurrection suddenly transformed into an
undeniable belief that led them to give up their lives for this Jesus. What could have
changed the disciples minds so suddenly besides the witnessing of the resurrection of
Jesus. They all personally had an encounter with the resurrected body of Jesus. Peter,
one of the disciples of Jesus, proclaimed that
We [the disciples] did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told [the people]
about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of
his majesty. (New International Version, 2 Peter
The Little School Chapter Summaries
In 1946, Juan Peron became President of Argentina with support from the working
class. He bettered the lives of Argentinians such as improving the public health
system, increasing working wages, as well as granting the power for women to
vote (Partnoy 11). During this time, Alicia Partnoy, the author of The Little School,
was involved in a political youth group who tried to fulfill the needs of
Argentinians. However in 1975, Peron died and his third wife, Isabel Peron, took
over as president and did not represent the needs of the working class. Instead, the
power was left to the military who attacked, kidnapped, and killed political youth
groups or any political activists that threatened the country s security (Partnoy 11).

During Isabel s presidency political activists were forcibly taken to, beaten, and
tortured in concentration camps. These real life experiences are difficult to share,
thus Partnoy skims over certain details in the stories and may not be completely
accurate accounts of what occurred. In the first story of Partnoy s book, The One
Flower Slippers , she describes how she was captured by the military officials and
sent to the secret detention center. Throughout her story, Partnoy uses the pronouns
she and her instead of I . When the soldiers grabbed her, forcing her into a
truck...afterward she looked up: the sky was so blue that it hurt...she does not
remember exactly the day it all happened... (Partnoy 25 26). This indicates that the
story was written in a third person point of view, which means the reader is not told
the upfront details about the kidnapping but imaginary aspects bridge the moments
together like a summary rather than a minute for minute transcription. These
experiences from the secret detention centers were harsh, gruesome, and
heartbreaking; therefore these fictional stories allow the reader to digest and conceive
the violent conditions and hardships that victims endured without knowing all the
violent factual details. Hence some stories in the book may have glossed over certain
parts, but it displays what happened in a light hearted and

What drives the basic economies of the airline industry? A Refinery?
Airline industry is a customer service based industry. They sell their services by
enabling the movements of their customers by transporting them from one place to
another, to include their belongings too. Airlines industries require a large amount of
capital in order to provide these services. They need to maintain their expensive
equipment, the facilities they function from and maintain a large amount of staff
because they serve their customer making it a labor intensive industry requiring
people to do the work for its customer such as transporting their luggage, and serving
them in the aircraft during a flight. Airline industries require people, they have
positions such as Pilots, flight attendants, bag handlers, reservation agents, a whole

Rather than the huge turn around that the investors were promised, the refinery
suffered because of bad weather and bad market conditions. However, in 2014, they
were able to get back on track reporting 96 million profit that year. Delta?s refinery
has continuously brought profits thereafter, continuing to 2015. This helped offset
fuel hedging bets in the first half of the year. Delta?s refinery has proved to be a
great idea, proving profits that has already made up for the initial investment and
continuing to provide high profit margins. It has also allowed Delta to have an
advantage over U.S. refining

This does not make a very good point. Clancy Brown played Byron Hadley, captain
of the guard, who was a nasty and brutal man that had the position of the warden?s
right hand man. A guy who gives beatings left and right each time showing the
audience a little more about whom his character really is. There?s no way he would
have done one extra thing than the minimum his deal with Andy required. This might
be a small thing to point out, but it shows the director?s desire to smooth over and
gloss up the story.
Red?s search for the tree in the film makes it seem like he finds the fence and the
tree almost immediately. He was only dropped off and just looked around for a
while and there it was. ?A rock with no earthly business in a Maine hayfield? (99).
There is a paragraph of description in the book that could have been used as a good
voice over for the film. Therefore, not adding on more second to the running time,
but really improving the moment in the story. In the book, Red talks about looking
every weekend for weeks, walking around not knowing if the spot he is looking for
had turned into a shopping center or a housing project. Why cut this part out of the
movie? For all the viewer knows, the director may not of had enough time to fit in
such a small yet important part to the film.
The last scene of the film is just like the beer subject mentioned earlier. The director
continues to make his so called improvements. The book ends

When dealing with the hearty bed bug, pest control companies must often combine
several of their enemies to rid your home of the resilient critters. The heat needed
to make an impact on the eggs must exceed 120 degrees F and the cold temperature
needed to affect them must be below 0 degrees F, although these temperatures must
be held for hours or days to kill the bugs and eggs. Even when subjected to these
temperatures, some bed bugs and eggs simply will not die. However, chemical only
treatments alone, such as DIY bug bombs also fail. That is why a pesticide
combined with either extreme heat or extreme cold is the best option to give the
bugs and eggs a double whammy that they are less likely to survive. Following these
guidelines, pest control companies offer the following

Tim O Brien grew up in a place where if you were to look in the dictionary for the

young Tim and his older self, Timmy, and his overall experience of coping with
death. The Lives of the Dead shows the concept that the dead lives on by
remembrance and telling stories. The quote above tells how Tim used storytelling to

Repair is a field of study in conversation analysis, and several linguists had been
working on this topic since 1970s. This chapter from The Handbook of Conversation
Analysis focuses on the domain of repair, introducing current research results about
the various types of repair made in speech, making it clear for readers who might not

certain actions which the speaker intends to achieve. She mentioned upgrading and
downgrading the force of action as one of the possible interactional uses of repair. I
do agree with this point since we may sometimes mistakenly make an extreme
comment on an event or a thing at first and we would try to downgrade that to a
milder word in order to avoid misunderstandings or even arguments. Thus, I believe
repairing may carry social functions in certain

While assessing the needs of the Chocoholics Anonymous organization our team
agreed unanimously that we wanted to gain the most value out of this project. We
first sat down and decided our approach for how to handle this project in the most

These use cases would drive the goals of the project and our general though and
planning process to the user interface.
User Experience
We found that as we defined the use cases we began immediately thinking about
how the use cases would look as a user interface and user experience. The user
experience is an important piece to the overall puzzle of creating software.
According to blog writer Dmitry Fadeyev a good user interface needs to be clear,
concise, familiar, responsive, consistent, attractive, efficient, and forgiving
(Fadeyev, 2009). When we set out to come up with a mocked user interface we
talked about what items would make these graphics easy to understand. As well
what would make them pop on the page or whatever would display them. For this
we came up with a decent mocked set of graphics in html to emulate what the user
would see in the interface for the application. This set of mocked up graphics would
prove to be attractive, consistent, and even familiar. The other items on the list such
as responsiveness, efficiency, and forgiveness would have to be realized after the
actual development itself was accomplished.
The screen shots in Appendix E clearly show the basic principals we attempted to
mock/create. We knew that a basic drop

Music Critique of film Score
Action, suspense, love, and drama are all the makings for a great film. None of
these key features to a film could have any substance or feeling without the help of
music. Composers play a big role for setting the tone of the movie, developing
characters, moving along or supporting action, and depicting the time and place the
movie is taking place. In the movie Heat, Elliot Goldenthal does just that. Goldenthal
was born in NY in 1954 and studied music under John Corigliano and Aaron

This distinguishes his character of the hero, from the other two villain characters. At
the end of the movie Robert De Niro s character is trying to escape the country with
the girl while Al Pacino s character is right on his tail. There is a moment when De
Niro realizes he cannot make it out with the girl and in and unspoken stare he
leaves. The music matches the feeling of the moment using long drown out chords
creating that sense a wanting and loss. As Pacino chases De Niro through a field
the music stops to intensify the action and set up the final scene. The music fades
back in shortly before Pacino shoots De Niro. The music carries into a high key riff
that is repeated with strings playing four tones slowly behind the keys. The music
grows louder adding more instruments such as large cymbals and carries into the
credits. Goldenthal s score was replaced in the final scene with Moby s God Moving
Over the Face of the Water. Director Michael Mann felt that Moby s music better
represented a feeling of relief, that it was over, that Pacino finally got his guy. At the
same time the music related the two characters. Opposite from the beginning where
the music separated the two, here it connects them demonstrating how they were not
that different and had respect and admiration for each
Business Level Strategy For A Competitive Advantage Essay
Business level strategy
A business level strategy involves searching for a competitive advantage. It also
involves doing research on how it positions in the marketplace to gain competitive
advantage and various positioning strategies used in the industry setting. Essentially,
this approach involves the individuals the company decides to serve in line with their
needs and desires. The business level strategy also entails how the company decides to
satisfy the needs of the customers. According to
Porter Michael, two competitive dimensions are the important keys to the business
level strategy.
The first dimension is the primary source of a company s competitive advantage.
The aspect involves whether a company is trying to gain an edge on the rivals by
keeping the prices down or offering a unique item in the market. The dimension is the
scope of the firm s operations. This aspect entails whether the company tries to target
the general customer or it aims at attracting only a segment of the consumers. There
are various business level strategies, which emerge from the decisions including
differentiation, value innovation, and cost leadership. It is in rare cases that a firm
offers to lower the cost of its goods and services and maintain the quality as desired
by the customers. It is evident that the companies practicing this strategy are
following best price strategy. The competitive strategy of Nordstrom is differentiation
through product, continuous improvement, superior
The Importance Of Racial Identity
One challenge many people who are biracial face, especially when they re young,
is fitting in with people. We live in a world that sees you for your color, and if you
aren t white enough or black enough people are likely to not be as accepting.
Having a This may result in someone acting like something they re not or having to
have different friend groups. Becoming introverted could also be a result of this.
Another struggle biracial people face is being racially ambiguous, which means
people are unable to identify what raceyou are, because of this people are constantly
asking what you are or assuming they know exactly what your racial background is.
People even question you about who you are related to. Some may think that these
types of occurrences aren t that big of a deal, but one can t truly understand until they
experience it themselves. It s difficult to maintain your racial identity when it is
always being questioned. Angie Yingst has first hand experience with questioning:
My mother is a Panamanian immigrant and my father is a white guy from
Pennsylvania. I ve always felt liminal, like I drift between race and culture. When I
was young (20s) and living in the city, I would get asked multiple times a day
where I was from, where my people were from, because Allentown, Pennsylvania,
clearly wasn t the answer they were looking for ... It always felt like the undercurrent
of that question was, You aren t white, but you aren t black. What are you?

the the cyclical nature of single human life to the cyclical nature of the economy.
This poem demonstrates how the progression of life follows a pattern and how a
smaller aspect, the economy, also follows a patterns that can relate to each other.
Life A Debt Driven Economy
As you get older, you come to understand the economics of age.
You go through a cycle you see.
When you were new , you had energy,
You developed, a state of Growth.
You reached your prime,
Your life was booming, a state of Prosperity.
You were young
But eventually as time goes by,
Your hair begins... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem relates the cyclical nature of our economy to each individual life
coming full circle. Throughout history, the economy booms and times become
prosperous, such as the Roaring 20 s. However, the economy can go bust and ruin
lives, such as the Great Depression, just as quickly. This illustrates how the loop of
the economy and a human s life are related. This also shows that the balance in this
universe cannot be broken or changed. This poem describes being young and
having energy, which would be considered the upward swing of your life and the
times of a developing economy. Then there is a state of prosperity where one
reaches their prime, which would be being at the top of the circular swing and
when the economy is booming. And then begins the process of having less energy,
not being as prosperous, start of aging; all of which would be considered the
downward swing and the economy going bust. And ultimately, death is the lowest
point of the swing. This whole cycle then begins all again, but with another life this
time. It is not surprising that if the timeline of humanity, then certain aspects such
as the economy also follow the circular pattern too. This theme is a double edged
sword. While it is comforting to know that rough times will not last forever and
humanity will pull itself up, it is also depressing to know nothing good in life will
always stay the same, it will eventually all burn down for it to be rebuilt
Similarities Between Judicial Activism And Strict...
The Supreme Court is made up of many justices that believe in two different
judicial philosophies. These two philosophies are that of judicial activism and strict
constructionism. These philosophies differ quite a bit from one another, but they
both work toward the same main goal. Both philosophies play a part in court cases
when it comes to deciding on a final ruling. Judicial activism is a judicial philosophy
that states that a court has the right to, and should go beyond what is stated in the
Constitution about an issue that is being brought up and look towards broader
suggestions of the impending decision on said issue. Basically, the court strikes
down a law and then makes a statement that [may] change a law or policy in a

In this case the Supreme Court determined that Texas law criminalizing, or
essentially trying to outlaw abortion was unconstitutional. Strict Constructionism,
on the other hand, is a distinct legal philosophy that limits or controls some judicial
interpretation. A judge who uses strict constructionism, may reject the use of
legislative history when constructing law because whatever a particular legislator
may have said while on the floor of congress does not necessarily reflect what was
put into law (Stankiewicz) . Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court is
probably one of the most we ll know users of strict constructionism. In essence, he
believes that the Constitution should only ever be interpreted the way it was
written never any different. Scalia also believes that the Constitution should not be
susceptible to any form of updating by any court. In 2015 the Supreme Court ruled
on a case about same sex marriage, Obergfell v. Hodges. The final ruling (holding)
of the case, stated by SCOTUSBlog, the fourteenth amendment requires a state to
license a marriage between two people of the same sex and also to recognize a
marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully
licensed and performed
Ancient Egyptian Life
Unlike the secular government that we have today, ancient Egypt intertwined
religion with politics, creating a vast network of gods that ruled over specific parts
of Egyptian life. There were gods for the Nile, the sun, the afterlife, and even for
chaos and disorder. The Egyptians believed wholeheartedly in their gods, and erected
tombs, temples, and statues in their favor.
Because of this, there is no Egyptian word for religion . The gods were tied to all
activities in daily life, and no Egyptian citizen believed that the gods were fallible.
While there generally were slight differences with how the gods interacted with the
world, most citizens had the same views. There were the chief deities, Horus and
Amon Re, and then there were gods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The alphabet is so essential for civilization now, as it allows us to communicate
with many, many more people than word of mouth ever could. Word of mouth is
fallible, as details can change over time. The Egyptian invention of hieroglyphics,
however, have allowed us to understand one of the earliest civilizations ever to have
existed. 6. SUCCESS AND FAILURE OF CIVILIZATIONS AND WHY DID
EGYPT LAST SO LONG
a. Why did some ancient civilizations succeed, last, and others fail?
b. Then, solve this MYSTERY Why did Egypt last 3000 years? Analyze carefully
and fully.
c. Finally, why didn t it last longer! How often do civilizations last 3,000 years?
Historically, not very often, and there are many factors that contribute to this. A
civilization is a delicate thing, as it must be organized, wealthy, easily defendable, and
most importantly, unified under government or otherwise. Ancient Egypthad all three
of these, and some civilizations that didn t, collapsed.
Organization in any group of people is very important, be it a group at school, a
family, or a population. Land, labor, and wealth must be allocated well, so as not to
create dissent in the populace. But one must be able to create wealth. Labor needs to
be allocated to create wealth for the state, through trade or otherwise. With wealth, a
governing body can create projects that will benefit its citizens.
However, trade is not the only way a civilization can
Symptoms And Treatment Of Ulcers
In today s world, elderlies suffering with ulcers are very common. Ulcers are sores
that occurs on the external surface or internal surface of the body, which is caused
by a break in the skin that does not fully recover or fail to heal. Ulcers come in
different forms, targeting different areas, due to different reasons with some slight
similarities to them.. People with ulcers has many treatment options, depending on
their case, stage, and kind of ulcer, for example stasis and pressure ulcer. Stasis and

the constant pressure. On the other hand, there is stasis ulcer, also known as venous
stasis ulcer, a skincondition which occurs in people with poor circulation. The stasis
ulcer usually occurs in the lower legs. The etiology of stasis ulcer stated by Beckerle,
Carla Moore, Pathogenesis of venous system can result in

Jerry Seinfeld is an entertaining comedian who is very successful because he
understands one thing: entertainment and humor go hand in hand. Humor is a good
way to connect with an audience and keep them engaged. The Tv series Sherlock is
easier for an audience to follow and understand than the original short stories by

Mahatma Gandhi Impact
Mahatma Gandhi was truly one of history s greatest heroes. He sacrificed his entire
life to help those in need. Through his love, perseverance, and endurance, Gandhi
changed the world. Mahatma Gandhi, born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was
born in Porbandar, India, on October 2, 1896. He had two older brothers named
Laxmidas and Karsandas and an older sister named Raliabehn. He also had two
half sisters born from his father s previous marriage. Out of all of his siblings,
Gandhi was the youngest (Rau 4). Gandhi s father, Karamchand, was the diwan, or
prime minister, of Porbandar. Because of this, Gandhi and his family lived a
comfortable life in a three story house along with numerous servants. On the other
hand, Gandhi s mother, Putlibai, had deep Hindu traditions. She was extremely
religious. She could often be found praying, fasting, and worshipping in the temple
to honor God. Putlibai s devotion to the Lord left a huge impression on Gandhi as
a young boy (Rau 6 7). When Gandhi was seven years old, he and his family
moved to an inland city called Rajkot. This is where Gandhi started school.
Although he adored school, he was incredibly, painfully shy. Gandhi once stated
that his books and his lessons were his only companions. As soon as he was done
with school, he would sprint as fast as he could home to avoid any social
interactions with his classmates. One of Gandhi s many, many fears was that he
would be made fun of him. At this point in his life, he was very weak in
The Effects Of Social Media On Teens
What effects does social media have on on teens? After reading the book Mediated
by Thomas de Zengotita I had realized the over the too use of social media, by
teens today, social media is leading to unhealthy mental and physical side effects. It
is important to publicly state these effects in order to alert parents of what is
happening to their teen. Through reading several articles on the subject, I quickly
found and examined these unfavorable side effects, by constantly using social
media people are becoming more isolated, loosing interest in their education,
relationships, and experiencing several other psychological issues. Social media
has taken over our county. According a study done by Georgia State University in
2013 around 50% of teens used social media sites the number grew dramatically
from 25% in 2009. Social media has both good aspects and bad aspects, social
media allows you to connect with friends and family across the world, social media
gives you a chance to create stronger relationships and to build new relationships.
However, the drawback from using social media is that it doesn t allow teens to have
the real human interaction that you get when you talk to someone face to face. In
addition, using social media demonstrated to spread untruthful, and sometimes
personal information. There are some discussions about social media actually being
positive, speaking from personal experiences I can see the both positive or negative
effects of social media in
Neustadt s Quotes On Presidential Power
Brian Li Period 7 Write out the Truman quote that is the source of Neustadt s
thesis. He ll sit here and he ll say, Do this! Do that! And nothing will happen. Poor
Ike it won t be a bit like the Army. He ll find it very frustrating. What does Neustadt
mean powers are no guarantee of power ? He means that the President only can try
to persuade people to do things that they already should be doing, and that nothing
gets done. While the President is supposed to have powers , his main power is his
power to persuade, and if he can t do that, not much will happen. What express

Furthermore, ticket splitting became commonplace so the President became the
center of attention. In addition, the economy was being affected so people began
to rely more so on the Presidency as seen by Keynesian economics. How did the
Cuban Missile Crisis show the extent and limits of the need for extraordinary
Presidential power? Since it was such a pressing issue, the President, Kennedy, had
to have a unilateral presidential decision. He had to act quickly and in secret.
However, this also negatively affected the President s power because other crises
were less pressing, thus the argument for the President having the sole decision
became downplayed. How does Schlesinger believe secrecy has influenced the rise
of imperial presidency? Secrecy gave the government the power to withhold
information, the power to leak information, and the power to lie to the public. It
made it also so that the President would have a more important role in government
because he could operate in secrecy. This distorts the view of the public and thus
places a greater emphasis on the President as seen by Kennedy s brigade and

Therapeutic Touch Essay
Dolores Krieger RN and Dora Kunz discovered the nursing technique called
therapeutic touch and it emerged in the early 1970s. Therapeutic touch is energy
therapy that is said to facilitate healings and reduce any pain or anxiety a person is

that is supposed to reduce a person s suffering. This is a healing technique is also
commonly used as a nursing technique that does not have any type of contact. In the

Amelia Earhart As An Inspirational Person
An inspirational person that I truly adore would persist as Amelia Earhart. I admire
her completely, considering how she portrayed herself as the first woman that
proved to the world that women can engage in the same activities as men. Although
Amelia was a female, she kept receiving attention by having similar interests as men.
Amelia felt that she could prove them wrong. She got on a plane and almost
achieved her goal; ascending across the ocean in an airplane, however, the only
downside that occurred was the disappearance of the plane.
If I had the chance to meet her I would ask her why she stood up? In fact, I would

In all honesty, she demonstrated off her strengths and proved that woman are just
as exceptional as men, or unbelievably superior. If I could, I would ask to accompany
her on her travels. The greatest answer of all time would be her saying yes to me. A
dream of mine would be to accompany her and ascend up in the sky right by her side.
I do not know what I would find, but if I could go back into the past, I would
definitely ask her why she wanted to be the first female flier. Amelia Earhartwould be
the person I would interview considering she took a chance to stand up for women
and I admire her for that. In fact, without her brave triumph, I have no idea where
women would be at right now. This act of hers is why I adore herself is truly
remarkable to me. She stood up by believing that she could achieve any goal as if she
was a man. Everyone thought that she was crazy, but that did not stop her. She went
far as the first female flier in history! Whereas men attain the simple road
considering how men were portrayed. Men were always put first considering their
sex. Men were considered strong where woman were considered weak. Amelia
helped prove this wrong by proving to the world that women can fly planes too. I
want to ask Amelia these questions because I would feel a sense of closure, knowing
why she did what she did. That will help me grow as a person, by making me believe
that I can achieve my goals and dreams too. Besides, I
The White Heron By Sarah Jewett
In the short story the White Heron (1886), Sarah Jewett portrays a young little girl,
Sylvia, bear the temptation of money and affection from the young man with mental
struggle, and resolutely determined to protect the fairy of nature a white heron.
Through describing Sylvia s authentic emotions and using of vivid theme colors and
exquisite word choice, Jewett delivers the story like showing a lifelike 19 century
country life drama in front of the readers.
The beauty of the story is about authentically conveying the author s emotion
experience, depicting the true feeling of the characters, and delivering the thought
process by putting readers into their shoes, in order to create resonance with the
readers, like her emotion for the love of nature, for her struggle towards money, and
for the crush she had towards the hunter. Sylvia s love of nature showed from As
for Sylvia herself, it seemed as if she had never been alive at all before she came to
live at the farm. (5) . She found her real self here, embracing the nature, knowing
every life that lived here, and fully enjoying the freedom in the woods, just like a
jungle fairy.
Sylvia s struggle towards the hunter is also lifelike. The hunter used the money to
tempt Sylvia, which drove her crazy. No amount of thought, could decide how many
wished for treasure the ten dollars, so lightly spoken, would buy . (13) It is the
original and authentic feeling that most kids can get, but the author didn t omit the
impact of money
Mcgee Cake Co Essay example
Minicase The McGee Cake Company
1.What are the advantages and disadvantages of changing the company organization
from a sole proprietorship to a LLC?
The McGee Cake Company, currently operating as a sole proprietorship, may
benefit from forming a limited liability company (LLC). An LLC is a comparatively
new type of business entity. With an LLC there are reduced legal formalities in
comparison to setting up a corporation. In addition, unlike a corporation, the
McGees could set up an LLC yet remain the sole owners of the company. Another
advantage as the owners of an LLC, the McGees are taxable only for personal
income and not for the income of your LLC. Therefore, they would not pay double
income tax. An LLC also has a long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a corporation, the McGees may be able to find new sources of funds for
business development. Many people, including shareholders, could invest in the
corporation. Finally, the corporation is the most reliable and trusted form of
business entity. A possible downside to incorporation, the McGees may have to put
up some of their private assets as a guarantee for the repayment of funds to
financial institutions, if they are not found eligible for payment of money.
Incorporation is not a small ordeal; it involves many legal formalities, laws,
agreement documents, etc. It is necessary to prepare and revue all these
documents carefully. Additionally, setting up the corporation will be an expensive
task. There are good and bad aspects to a corporation in reference to taxes. With a
corporation, the McGees will be taxable for self income, as well as for the
corporation s revenue. However they will enjoy personal tax credits as with the sole
proprietorship.
3.Ultimately, what action would you recommend the company undertake? Why?
After reviewing the pros and cons to LLC and corporation business structures, as
well as the business strategy of the McGee Cake Company, I would recommend to
Doc and Lyn that they form a corporation to move the company forward. Although
initial set of a corporation up may be complicated and have some cost, the potential
for the company is great. The scope of the possibility is what makes the corporation
Religion in James Joyce s Dubliners Essay
Religion in James Joyce s Dubliners Religion was an integral part of Ireland during
the modernist period, tightly woven into the social fabric of its citizens. The Catholic
Churchwas a longstanding tradition of Ireland. In the modernist spirit of breaking

barriers. This is because the Catholic faith acted as the governing force of its people,

This is mainly due to the fact that both adhere to a certain agreed ideas of how
people should act. The majority of any given population makes decisions on a
daily basis using both law and religion to guide their actions. However, when
matters of fairness and equity are questioned the government must make an
adhered to ruling. In the story The Boarding House , Joyce presents us with an
image of Ireland where religion is the governing force in determining equitable
situations. This is clearly apparent when Mrs. Mooney experiences trouble with
her marriage and seeks a separation. This situation is described as, She went to the
priest and got a separation from him with care of the children (72). For most
societies a situation like this would fall under the category of civil law, and be
decided in a court of law. The fact that Mrs. Mooney went to the priest to solve a
domestic dispute, and not to an attorney shows that the citizens of Ireland regarded
the church as the head figure of Ireland. Anytime that the ruling authority of a
country is anything other than its own constitution, the only outcome is a
constricted and less prosperous society. This is evident in emerging countries
where two or more political parties fighting for control of the people. When a
religion is the head of state for a country, the actions of its people are subjected to
moral and ethical beliefs. This is unfair in concept, due to the fact not all citizens of a
The Ecstasy Of Saint Teresa Analysis
Rooted within John Berger s observations on the consumption of visual culture, in his
1972 book, Ways of Seeing, is the statement that The relation between what we see
and what we know is never settled . Within the texts first chapter, Berger endeavours
to illustrate the unique nature of perception along with its vulnerability to influence.
The author further comments on the loss of independent thinking regarding artwork,
instead being replaced by a state of false mystification . The enigmatic nature of the
Baroque piece, Girl with a Pearl Earring (c.1665), by Dutch artist Johaness Vermeer,
proves to allow for unique interpretations that are free from the learnt assumptions

The dynamic piece fuses architecture, sculpture and fresco to create a theatre for
the spectacle which lies in the Cornaro Chapel. Bernini depicts the spiritual
awakening of the Saint as she has a vision of an angel, who plunges a spear into
her heart. The sculpture attempts replicate the sensation with the detailed facial
expression of the Saint her eyes closed and mouth open which displays a moment
of spiritual pain and pleasure as she is consumed by her love for God. The angle
appears to wear a light cloth that wraps around his figure, whilst the mortal Saint
wears a heavy cloth, denoting a sense of stability associated with earth. The tangible
quality of the cloth further enhances the realism of her transcended state. The
sculptures theatrical element is foregrounded by the placement of a small hidden
window which shines daylight onto the dramatic event, illuminating the bronze
shafts representing the golden rays of heaven above. Placed on the surrounding
walls are theatre boxes which seat the patrons who witness the climatic event.
Bernini s work contributed to the Counter Reformation propaganda, as it provided
pictorial evidence of the divine power of Christ to encourage faith amongst people
of all social standing. The composition of the chapel ensures that it s visitors
experience the art which defies mundanity and thus inspires awe and faith. In the
promotion of intended context, Berger asserts that reproduction of an artwork
creates multiple meanings which defer with each spectator and their respective
contexts. His assertion may imply a scenario in which the grandeur and gravity of
the artwork is lost as it is perceived from a television screen in an ordinary living
room or printed arbitrarily on a

  • 2. The World War II And The Nazi Party Of Germany Essay Further Than Loyalty Are you loyal to your own land and country, to a point that you will indifferently oppose other land s and nations beliefs, way of life, traditions, and so on. According to Webster (2014), nationalism means showing complete support and faithfulness towards a nation, even though showing nationalism intend to go against other nations. Miscevic (2001) describes the word nationalism in two marvelous ideas. First, it is the way the elements of a country are thoughtful and mindful as for their country s identity. Second, it is the act of the elements of a country that is made while finding to succeed reaching and continuing their own choice. Nationalism can be illustrated in different perspectives. One of the very important causes of the First and Second World War and other kinds of wars was nationalism itself (Webster, 2014). During the World War Two, Nationalism was the evident action of the Nazi Party of Germany. Koenigsberg (n.d.) states in an online article, an individual s options and reactions to other nations may be less favorable, when he has a strong passion on his own nation. Nazis describes nationalism as the ultimate identity of oneself to defend upon other nations hands. Trying to be strong or significant, being of a country show in a single possibility that they are strong is merit of its position to protect itself upon other countries. Affected by the fact that countries have foes, nationalism tends to do crafty things to the country.
  • 3. Jeffrey Dahmer Quotes I made my fantasy life more powerful than my real one ( Jeffrey Dahmer AZ Quotes ). This quote was said by Jeffrey Dahmer in court. Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21st 1960. His parents were Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He was born in West Allis, WI but grew up in Akron Ohio. Dahmer had a little brother who was born when Dahmer was 7 years old. Dahmer parents went through a brutal divorce which was very hard on Jeffrey. Jeffrey Dahmerwas one of the most deranged serial killers that ever lived due to his intense murders, repulsive cannibalism, and foul necrophilia. Jeffrey Dahmer went through a notorious killing spree murdering 17 young men. Jeffrey Dahmer was 18 years old when he committed his first murder. Being Jeffrey s first murder Steven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jeffrey took nude photos of young men he would get off on these nude photos. The photos could either be of the corpses or of the dying victims Dahmer captured. Dahmer went after minors specifically men who were African Americans. Jeffrey would find his victims at a bar or any low profile place where people would not notice the victim missing. After finding a victim he would drug his victims and take them back to his apartment. In his apartment he would kill the victim photograph the body and then rape the corpse. The men Dahmer drugged would sometimes go outside and walk around with handcuffs. Cops would fine them confused and in a daze from getting heavily drugged. Some of Dahmer s neighbors have reported several young african americans wondering the streets and going to Jeffrey s house. Some of his neighbors also complained of the offensive smell from his apartment. Dahmer told them his refrigerator was out of order, and he would take care of the problem the stench diminished but did not disappear ( Dahmer, Jeffrey Lionel ). On May 27th 1991 young Laotian boy was found. Searching for his victims at the bar Dahmer would often get very drunk walking home neighbors would see drunk Jeffrey at his apartment. • 5. My Value In Life Song Essay Were you in jail 3 months ago? What do you value in life? The things you value in life can determine what kind of person you are. If you value something for a long time; then you lose interest it s like you have a new start to life. The lyrics in a song express your values and how you go about life. The type of music you listen is an important value in life. My favorite song is called There He Go by Kodak Black, talks about being rich, people surrounding him with guns, and being at the top. I agree with these values and morals because I think they are important in my everyday life. My values are happiness, wealth, and love. I feel that this song goes with all my moral values. People can relate to this song and it can educate people for the better. A song I used to listen to was There He Go by Kodak Black. This song tells me about a man who just got out of jail and thinks he is the shit. The main values in this song are, popularity, power, success, wealth and loyalty. Kodak Black writes There He Go and tells a story of his life after getting out of jail and how he wants people to view him/or how he thinks people view him. This song does not support the values of humor, spirituality or stability. This song supports the values of confidence and happiness about yourself in life. A verse in Kodak s song is I got space jams on my feet, I m on the moon. This line means he thinks he is cool and living a dream because he has nice expensive shoes on his feet. I understand why he is writing this because he can have more confidence or have a good time when you are wearing nice clothes/shoes on. Also it is better than him saying I got beat shoes, I feel like i m in the toilet. Also when you re more confident in yourself you tend to live a better, and happy life then when you re not. A verse that I could relate to was when he said Ayy, everybody runnin ; nigga gotta gun. Kodak is basically saying if you see someone with a gun, you re going to run away and other people would too. I agree with him because I am not going to get shot by just watching someone killing you, i m running for my life. It would be better to die trying to live then not. Then a line that caught my eye was when he wrote I don t
  • 6. Herman Melville s Bartleby, The Scrivener Herman Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivener Born in New York City on August 1st, 1819, Herman Melville led a life that commenced in partial fame and success, but ended in poverty and despair. Although unjustly criticized for the purposeless extravagance and disorderliness of his writing, due to his digressions into many different topics while discussing a single one, especially in his most celebrated novel today, though most criticized and unappreciated in his time, Moby Dick, Herman Melville is considered one of the most important figures in American Literature today. Herman Melville is the most Shakespearean of our authors, according to Herald Bloom, an American literary critic. Other literary critics deem his works the most crucial achievements in American literature, and literary creations of a high order blending fact, fiction, adventure and subtle symbolism. Melville communicated his genius not only through his impeccable use of language and engrossing creation of plot, but also and mainly through his development of more than merely unique or odd characters characters he called original. Noting Melville s view of himself as an author, more than that of himself as a person, is significant to the understanding of his notion of the original character, and to the understanding of his literary original characters. It is especially essential to the understanding of one of his most intriguing fictional characters: Bartleby. In his short story Bartleby, the
  • 7. Security At The Umpqua Community College Johnathan Good 12 December, 2015 ENG 2100 08 Smith With the recent shooting at the Umpqua Community College in Oregon, security on college campuses has become a major topic. Some campuses have increased their security while others have kept theirs the same. One of these campuses that has kept its security at the status quo is Ohio State University. This amount of security is what Wright State lacks. It is understandable that the size of the campus of Wright State is nowhere near that of Ohio State and that Wright State is near the Wright Patterson Air Force Base, but having only a couple campus police cruisers roaming around campus is not enough to prevent a shooting so there needs to be a greater police presence on campus. Over the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The proposition that I have in mind for this is that Wright State needs to have at least fifteen officers on duty during campus hours. I know that this will not be perfect in preventing a shooting or an attack on campus so I am also proposing that there needs to be a rapid response unit that specializes in active shooter scenarios that is able to get to campus within twenty minutes as well as a keycard system that only allows people into certain buildings with authorized cards, in this case student IDs and visitor passes. First, a greater police presence will serve as a deterrent for people to avoid attacking the campus. Second, having a keycard system that works only with student IDs and visitor passes can act as a deterrent just by making it more difficult for a person to get into a building. Lastly, having a rapid response team will reduce the time that a gunman has to perform their criminal act thus reducing the number of lives lost. Having a greater police presence in an area alone reduces the likelihood of a shooting to occur on campus. But they cannot just be patrolling the campus in their cruisers, there have to be some that roam around the campus on foot. With recent events that are stereotyping police officers as racists, it is understandable that this might not be one of the best decisions to make. Keep in mind though that a police officer s
  • 8. Nanotechnology And The Energy Crisis Nanotechnology and the Energy Crisis A major problem facing the world today is the energy crisis. The amount of energy being consumed is much greater than the fossil fuels of the Earth will be able to keep up with in the long run. As energy use continues to grow, the demand for energy will exceed its supply. This is obviously a huge problem, and why this is being referred to as a crisis. However, nanotechnology can potentially solve this problem due to its ability to help make every aspect of producing or consuming energy significantly more efficient. Yet, the use of nanotechnology in solving the energy crisis would not come without large impacts: some positive, but some negative. The Energy Crisis To understand how nanotechnology can solve the energy crisis, the energy crisis itself must fully be understood. While many throw out years when the world will run out of energy, these figures assume that no change will occur in the current consumption of energy. Since the world is constantly changing, so will the energy industry. There are so many factors that go into why one day the world will not run out of energy. The biggest reason is economics. As supply of fossil fuels decreases, the price will rise, and demand for renewable resources will increase. Another reason is that scientists, especially as it becomes more economically efficient, will look to find other sources of energy (Bradley, 2004). Yet, there is still a problem. No matter how many fossil fuels people
  • 9. Jack Kevorkian Euthanasia . A good example for laws concerning euthanasia is Jack Kevorkian. He was a physician in Oakland County, Michigan. He came to the aid of those who suffered from medical conditions by assisting them in ending their lives. One case of his in particular made headlines in 1990, Janet Atkins. She was a 54 years old patient who recently found out she had Alzheimer s. She had previously heard of Kevorkian s suicidemachine that he had named the Thanatron. It used a fatal dose of fluids, starting with a saline solution, followed by a painkiller, then finally a lethal dose of poisonous potassium chloride. She wanted him to use the suicide machine on her. She was a supporter of voluntary euthanasiafor the terminally ill, even before she found out about
  • 10. Garrison Keillor s The Prodigal Son vs. Luke s The... Garrison Keillor s The Prodigal Son vs. Luke s The Parable of the Prodigal Son The classic story of the Prodigal Son is one of the best known parables in literature. A parable is often times described as a short narrative which teaches a moral; however, the plot is more realistic, than say a fable, and the characters are humans as oppose to animals or natural forces within nature. Parables are also presented in a more suggestive tone, which leaves them more open to interpretation. The play Prodigal Son told by Garrison Keillor differs greatly in terms of style compared to Lukes The Parable of the Prodigal Son told in the Catholic scriptures. Both of these parables convey the same moral, however, both are open to very different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This style merely added to the parable itself. One could argue that since the personalities in Keillors version were more developed, it left less room for ones own interpretation. Because the personalities of the characters were more distinct, it also alllwed for more focus on the actual plot and the building moral. Since the moral is the true point to a parable, it would be pointless for an audience or reader to be stuck on the their curiosity of the type of people the characters were supposed to represent. More detail, merely aids in the strength of a parables narrative qualities. A major difference that I noted when reading and comparing the two parables was the usage of language. That writing style of the parables truly affected my interpretation of the moral. Keillor took a much more modern approach to the language that the characters conversed with. He also utilized more symbolism in the language in order to pursue more of a comedy type piece. An example of such is when Wally returnas home and his father is ecstatic about his return, and begins to give him gifts and attention. The father then decides amongst all his excitement that he wants to give Wally a ring, which he had already given to the older son Dwight. Dwight responds with, cant give it to the son who has worked his tail off for thirty years, oh no, gotta give it to the weasel who comes dragging his butt through the door (Kennedy 1366). This language varies greatly from the
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Procrastination A vast majority of High School seniors as well as college freshmen, struggle with managing their time and reducing procrastination. High school seniors and college freshmen, unfortunately, have urgencies to do assignments really late and end up turning in a lethargic assignment. Many students incriminate procrastination. However, they only have themselves to blame for lack of time management. Students get absorbed in technology and spending time with friends they forget they even had an assignment due the very next day at the beginning of class. High schoolseniors and college freshmen need to learn how the importance of managing their time wisely and reducing procrastination can help them succeed in their educational careers. High school seniors and college freshmen need to interpret their large assignment into smaller assignments to better and thoroughly understand what they are doing. When breaking larger assignments into smaller assignments it doesn t seem like there is a big task and it decreases anxiety to successfully finish the project. In an article named Just, To Do It: Tips for avoiding procrastination, Pitts and Benett state that, Making a list of the separate steps involved in the writing process (e.g., researching, generating a thesis statement, outlining, writing a first draft) and think of each step as an individual task. Just breaking up the idea of a paper in your mind can calm you down and help you feel more equipped to handle the task ahead. (Pitts Bennett 2) Being comfortable while doing big assignments help complete the task and relaxes your mind so that it will not feel rushed or like there is not enough time to finish and do well. Eddy has finally found his role. He is no phantom in this one; he is very much in solid evidence, and his lungs are working as strongly and as loudly as they have ever worked before. Indeed, you might almost think the picture was made just so he might sing. And that is the principal reason why this remake of the old Lon Chaney film is bereft of much of the terror and macabre quality of the original. The feeling of this version was that the Phantom was an afterthought. The beginning of the film is a musical that serves to set up the Phantom, or Erique Claudin, storyline. You see the conductor having issues directing a violinist. The violinist end up being fired and the rest of the story unfolds. The differences between this version and the version of 1925 are numerous. 1943 the Phantom is created when disfigured by a chemical burn and must hide after committing murder, whereas in 1925 the masked man has lived under the opera house for years and was born disfigured. The 1943 version also felt like they were trying too hard to convey the love interest and to have Christine at the center of a very off foursome not only was she the love interest of Anatole Garron and Raoul Daubert, she was also the love interest of the Phantom.

Another aspect to the Treaty of Versailleswere the economic terms. These terms stated that Germany had to pay 6.6 billion dollars back to the allies. Germany was not able to pay this amount of money so they had to borrow money from nearby countries. None of these key features to a film could have any substance or feeling without the help of music. Composers play a big role for setting the tone of the movie, developing characters, moving along or supporting action, and depicting the time and place the movie is taking place. In the movie Heat, Elliot Goldenthal does just that. Goldenthal was born in NY in 1954 and studied music under John Corigliano and Aaron Copeland. At the end of the movie Robert De Niro s character is trying to escape the country with the girl while Al Pacino s character is right on his tail. There is a moment when De Niro realizes he cannot make it out with the girl and in and unspoken stare he leaves. The music matches the feeling of the moment using long drown out chords creating that sense a wanting and loss. As Pacino chases De Niro through a field the music stops to intensify the action and set up the final scene. The music fades back in shortly before Pacino shoots De Niro. The music carries into a high key riff that is repeated with strings playing four tones slowly behind the keys. The music grows louder adding more instruments such as large cymbals and carries into the credits. Goldenthal s score was replaced in the final scene with Moby s God Moving Over the Face of the Water. Director Michael Mann felt that Moby s music better represented a feeling of relief, that it was over, that Pacino finally got his guy. At the same time the music related the two characters. Opposite from the beginning where the music separated the two, here it connects them demonstrating how they were not that different and had respect and admiration for each

This poem relates the cyclical nature of our economy to each individual life coming full circle. Throughout history, the economy booms and times become prosperous, such as the Roaring 20 s. However, the economy can go bust and ruin lives, such as the Great Depression, just as quickly. This illustrates how the loop of the economy and a human s life are related. This also shows that the balance in this universe cannot be broken or changed. This poem describes being young and having energy, which would be considered the upward swing of your life and the times of a developing economy. Then there is a state of prosperity where one reaches their prime, which would be being at the top of the circular swing and when the economy is booming. And then begins the process of having less energy, not being as prosperous, start of aging; all of which would be considered the downward swing and the economy going bust. And ultimately, death is the lowest point of the swing. This whole cycle then begins all again, but with another life this time. It is not surprising that if the timeline of humanity, then certain aspects such as the economy also follow the circular pattern too. This theme is a double edged sword. While it is comforting to know that rough times will not last forever and humanity will pull itself up, it is also depressing to know nothing good in life will always stay the same, it will eventually all burn down for it to be rebuilt

These two philosophies are that of judicial activism and strict constructionism. These philosophies differ quite a bit from one another, but they both work toward the same main goal. Both philosophies play a part in court cases when it comes to deciding on a final ruling. Judicial activism is a judicial philosophy that states that a court has the right to, and should go beyond what is stated in the Constitution about an issue that is being brought up and look towards broader suggestions of the impending decision on said issue.
