2. Filming sessions (02/10/20 – 11/10/20)
What went well?
• I managed to get plenty of shots of me playing the guitar filmed for the video – filmed at least 3 takes
for each section of the song I wanted the guitar featured in and a few more for failsafe.
• I also managed to film lots of shots featuring me walking my dog and a scene where we are hugging
whilst outside.
What didn’t go well?
• Sadly I wasn’t able to keep to a consistent schedule for what I should film at a certain point in time,
mostly because of external factors revolving around home events and such.
• Also I figured that there would be numerous continuity errors in the final product as my dog got a
haircut in the middle of the week, by which point I already completed a few shots that featured her. In
response I did take a few more walking shots for failsafe, but was unable to retake the scene of us
hugging outside.
Have I learnt from the experience?
• I have learnt that it is best to stick to a consistent filming schedule and to ensure to everyone in the
environment that the filming is taking place in is aware that there is filming that will need to be
prioritised.
3. Editing session (12/10/20)
How did I start editing?
• The first thing I did upon opening Premiere Pro was add in the song I had chosen for the project – ‘Nothing Else Matters’ by Metallica, as I
had yet to transfer the video files over from my phone onto OneDrive.
• Once they had transferred over, my first video I had put on was me playing the outro section of the song on the Guitar Hero controller and
decided tried to align it with the music that played.
What went well?
• As a first project on Premiere Pro, I feel that I made a good start to it. I managed to get the song I wanted to use onto the project, as well as
getting numerous pieces of footage onto the project in time with the song.
• Additionally, I did manage to edit the song as I wanted to make some changes to it (such as inserting a botched guitar note sound effect), as
well as shorten it, bringing the song from 6 and a half minutes to just under 6 minutes.
What challenges did I face?
• There were a few instances where the song did stop working on the project due to a software error – the came directly from a USB Stick and
Premiere Pro failed to recognise it once I took the stick out. As a result I had to transfer the song onto the Mac itself, drag that version of the
file into the project and then continue to where I was before.
• Also I didn’t get that far in terms of completing the project. Only a few videos were actually registered onto the project itself, so I am hoping
to have more in it by the end of tomorrow.
What is my plan for tomorrow?
• Tomorrow I do plan to have a few more videos made for the MV, so I will add them into the project and hopefully be closer to completing
the project itself.
4. Editing session (13/10/20)
How did I start editing?
• I had a few more videos done for today’s session, so I started off by incorporating them into the video
itself.
What went well?
• I managed to create a VHS-style warp effect from scratch for a particular shot of the video (see
screenshot in the next slide).
• I also managed to get plenty more of the footage into the video like I wanted to today.
What challenges did I face?
• One piece of footage featuring the Guitar Hero highway showing the notes in the interlude
disappeared at some point, meaning I will have to insert it back in later.
What is my plan for tomorrow?
• To get as close to finishing as I possibly can. With the additional shots I am set to make tonight I should
be hoping to get the video exported.

6. Editing session (14/10/20)
How did I start editing?
• I had all the footage that I needed for it, and so was able to incorporate the new footage straight
into spaces in my project.
What went well?
• The clips that had disappeared from yesterday’s work were finally placed back into the areas
where I desired them to be (see screenshot in the next slide).
• I managed to get two different versions of the video exported to a YouTube 1080p HD quality. One
of which features some additional faded shots.
What challenges did I face?
• Working under the time limit was something I’d like to consider a challenge.
